Yves Bissouma is set to leave Tottenham in the coming days, after it was made clear that the midfielder is not in Thomas Frank’s plans.

West Ham had been linked with a move for Bissouma, who was dropped for disciplinary reasons at the start of the season.

Tottenham signed Joao Palhinha on loan from Bayern Munich earlier this summer, allowing for the midfielder to depart.

Bissouma has failed to find consistency since his 2022 arrival from Brighton, with Spurs now set to part ways with the midfielder.

Decision-makers at The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium are also expected to be in the market for a more creative midfielder before the window shuts, after failing with a £60million bid for Nico Paz.

Yves Bissouma set for Galatasaray move

Bissouma was often among Ange Postecoglou’s first choices in midfield last season, with Spurs lacking alternative options at the base.

But the Mali international saw his opportunities reduced towards the end of the season, with mistakes creeping into his game more frequently.

Postecoglou did opt for Bissouma in the Europa League final, however, in which the midfielder delivered one of his best performances of the season as Spurs won 1-0.

But the arrival of Frank has seen alternative options preferred once again, with the 28-year-old yet to play a minute of football this season.

And now, Bissouma is set to leave, with Fabrice Hawkins reporting on 26 August that negotiations between Tottenham and Galatasaray are at the final stages.

The former Brighton man has already agreed on personal terms with the Turkish giants, with the move expected to go through before the window shuts.

Joao Palhinha will make Spurs forget Yves Bissouma

Palhinha has already proven his ability in a Spurs shirt, starring for Frank’s side as they beat Manchester City 2-0 at The Etihad on Saturday 23 August.

The Portugal international is far more active than Bissouma, winning possession and tackles at a much higher rate.

Interestingly, the 30-year-old also offered better numbers than Bissouma going forward, during his time at Fulham in the 2023/24 season.

Palhinha performed better when it comes to key passes, compared to the Mali international, who registered next to none over the course of last season.

Spurs will not regret the swap this season, with the midfielder already beginning to prove what a good signing he could turn out to be.
