Tottenham are already getting hefty transfer offers for big star of the future - Hotspur HQ
Description

Tottenham Hotspur are mostly focused on the players they are going to sign to reenforce the squad for the 2025/26 Premier League and Champions League seasons, as the club won the Europa League to qualify for next season's Champions League but could get overrun if they don't improve a side that could only muster a 17th-placed finish in league play.

Spurs are after the likes of Bryan Mbeumo, Yoane Wissa, Eberechi Eze, and Xavi Simons to help drastically transform a midfield and attack that weren't up to the standard of the top five teams in the Premier League last season.

But they are also keeping an eye out on rival clubs in the Champions League who are trying to poach their best players. Already, Real Madrid have been linked with future interest in center midfielder Lucas Bergvall, who has the makings of a world-class player after a strong inaugural season in Tottenham.

Tottenham could sell one youngster for over 50 million pounds

It looks like Madrid aren't the only ones with designs on the phenomenal Swede. According to a report from Swedish outlet Fotboll Direkt's Ola Gustavsson, top clubs around European football are calling the phones for Bergvall and are willing to pay Tottenham a whopping 54 million pounds for him. But Tottenham fans will feel relieved by the other part of the report which states that neither Spurs nor Bergvall himself are interested in a move.

Although Bergvall, like Cristian Romero and other top stars at Tottenham, is likely very bummed out by the club's decision to part ways with manager Ange Postecoglou, he is clearly enjoying his time at Tottenham and has a lot of growing to do at the club.

Bergvall already chose Spurs over Barcelona last winter, and everything he's done since then with Spurs has been a success. Even though he was injured and didn't play in the Europa League Final against Manchester United, there is no doubt that the 19-year-old box-to-box midfield maven played a role in helping Spurs get to that point.

Tottenham would be wise to keep Bergvall for as long as is humanly possible, since he's the kind of player and character whom you need to build your team around. Bergvall can be the star of a new era of Tottenham football under Frank, and if he's already generating offers over 50 million pounds from top clubs after one season, then you can only imagine how valuable he'll be in world football in five years time.

Tottenham are high on signing a forgotten international breakout star - Hotspur HQ
Description

Tottenham Hotspur have a busy summer transfer window ahead of them with Thomas Frank at the helm, as the bold decision to replace Europa League-winning manager Ange Postecoglou with the former Brentford coach needs to be backed by serious investment in the squad and a new vision to bring Spurs to the top of the Premier League.

It's time for Tottenham and Daniel Levy to show real ambition, because merely being linked to top Premier League transfer targets like Eberechi Eze and Bryan Mbuemo isn't good enough anymore. Spurs supporters want to see their club actually sign those guys.

But Tottenham can't just be rebuilt with big names alone. Spurs will need Frank and the scouting team to come up with undervalued solutions on the market, and, to that end, a highly interesting name has been linked to Spurs.

According to a report from Edu Burgos of Diario AS, who is very plugged in with South American coverage, Tottenham are big fans of Palmeiras midfielder Richard Rios. Spurs aren't the only Premier League team who are high on Rios, though, as Burgos also reports that Crystal Palace and Newcastle are interested in him, too.

Tottenham could sign one of the biggest breakouts last summer

Although Palmeiras reportedly don't feel any pressure to sell, their asking price for the 25-year-old isn't exactly high. Per Burgos, Tottenham could sign Rios for as little a 15 million pounds, making him a very cheap midfield acquisition with high upside.

Rios made a name for himself on the international stage last year in Copa America as one of the big breakout stars of the tournament, playing a crucial role in a James Rodriguez-led bid to the Final, where they were eventually beaten by Spurs stars Giovani Lo Celso and Cristian Romero for Argentina.

It's seems like everyone has forgotten about Rios, who had a number of high-profile suitors among midfield-needy teams last summer, such as AC Milan. Palmeiras held onto Rios, but, now, the young midfielder could be ready for a new change.

10 Tottenham Transfer Targets and Verdicts: Defensive Midfield - Hotspur HQ
Description

Toward the end of the Europa League campaign, Ange Postecoglou played Yves Bissouma and Rodrigo Bentancur in a double pivot defensive midfield partnership. The tactical shift proved to be a masterstroke as Spurs conceded only two goals in the last five European matches.Â

But with Bissouma's departure likely, four trophies to compete for next season, and concerns that 19-year-old Archie Gray needs more time to mature into an every-week starter, Thomas Frank may feel the squad is in dire need of another holding midfielder.Â

Spurs supporters have been craving a world-class defensive midfielder who would walk into the starting XI. The question is whether Daniel Levy has his sights set on a promising young talent, a marquee signing, or an experienced veteran.Â

What follows is a list of 10 DMs Spurs have reportedly been monitoring and who we think Levy should pursue.Â

Lucien Agoumé (Sevilla)

The 23-year-old Senegalese-born midfielder possesses a similar skill set to Caicedo and Camavinga, but without the experience and hype. A dominant force in the middle of the park, he ranked near the top of La Liga in aerials won and interceptions. He is capable of carrying the ball forward and creating goal-scoring opportunities. Wouldn’t break the bank and could be an ideal candidate for a double pivot role at Spurs.

The problem: He struggled during his time at Inter and was loaned out on three occasions before finding a consistent role at Sevilla. Not the best distributor of the ball and still lacks experience even though he has played top-tier football for six seasons.

Verdict: Yes, but as a second-tier candidate on this list.

Lamine Camara (Monaco)

The 21-year-old Senegalese technician has been mooted as a potential replacement for Yves Bissouma since March. He played more as a box-to-box for AS Monaco. He’s a creative engine who can distribute the ball and take corner kicks. And he proved his quality with a phenomenal performance during a friendly against England last week.

The problem: Camara’s slight stature raises legitimate concerns about his ability to adapt to the pace and power of the Premier League. An asking price between £20-30 million wouldn’t break the bank. However, AS Monaco finished third in Ligue 1 and qualified for Champions League, so prying him away from the Côte d’Azur could be difficult.Â

Verdict: Yes, he could be Spurs version of N’Golo Kanté.

Éderson (Atalanta)

An all-around playmaker who is strong in the air, drives the ball forward, and has a nose for goal. The 25-year-old Brazilian international is a proven winner, having never finished lower than fifth in his three seasons at Atalanta. Following the departure of Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini, Spurs could reignite their interest and offer Ederson an immediate starting role in the Premier League along with a significant increase from his current weekly wages of £41,500.Â

The problem: Although rumors of a move to Manchester United have been shot down, he is believed to be one of Al-Hilal and inter’s top targets. Spurs may have trouble convincing current manager Ivan Jurić and the board to let Éderson leave for a reasonable fee, given that “Atalanta didn’t even listen to Tottenham’s offer” last season, according to OneFootball.

Verdict: Yes, would instantly give Spurs one of England’s most formidable midfields.

Morten Frendrup (Genoa)

The Danish international is versatile and willing to track opposing players all over the pitch. He could be deployed at defensive midfield or fill in at left-sided wing back. He’s a Brøndby academy product whose career Thomas Frank will have followed closely. A solid tackler who can stabilize a midfield in the Serie A under Patrick Vieira. Genoa would demand a reasonable transfer fee, which suits Levy’s modus operandi.Â

The problem: Although Spurs’ hierarchy has been monitoring him for more than a year, he’s not going to dazzle anyone with his dribbling skills or distribution. Is he an upgrade on Bissouma? Probably not. Does he walk into the team ahead of Archie Gray, Lucas Bergvall, Pape Matar Sarr or Rodrigo Bentancur? Unlikely. Spurs don’t need a potential squad player, they need a day one starter.

Verdict: No, too many concerns he’d become surplus to requirements.

Morten Hjulmand (Sporting)

Much has been written about Hjulmand’s talent and his Arsenal tattoo. But if reports are to be believed, the much-coveted Danish international could suppress his boyhood crush and agree to join his countryman Frank in N17. The 25-year-old is in prime of his career, distributes the ball well, and has a cannon of a right foot. He’s a solid defender who could relish the physicality of the Premier League and become a force in the middle of the park.

The problem: The pace of the Premier League could be an issue. He is more of a static presence and visionary than a player who’ll get fans off their seat. Sporting might be unwilling to negotiate a lower fee than his reported £67 million clause. Plus, he’s been linked to Arsenal and Manchester United, in spite of his vocal disappointment with Ruben Amorim’s midseason departure from Sporting.Â

Verdict: Yes, if the price is around £50 million.

Christian Nørgaard (Brentford)

The Danish international has Premier league pedigree, savvy, and loads of experience. He’s been a stalwart at Brentford during its miraculous Premier League journey under Thomas Frank. He’s a leader who covers a lot of ground, contributes to the scoresheet, and would cost less than most other players on this list. Plus, he knows Thomas Frank’s tactics inside and out.

The problem: At 31 years old, he’s getting toward the end of his prime and he would be a huge loss for the Bees who will be desperate to remain in the Premier League after losing Frank. From Spurs perspective, signing a mid-table midfielder who lacks flair and technical ability for a bargain price would drive supporters mad.

Verdict: No, not the right time, talent or fit.

Raphael Onyedika (Club Brugge)

Tall, agile, clever and fearless, Raphael Onyedika’s playing style is reminiscent of a young Paul Pogba. The 24-year-old Nigerian will be familiar to Thomas Frank, having started his career at Midtjylland in Denmark before earning a transfer to Belgian giants Club Brugge three years ago. He possesses pace, vision and the ability to push the ball forward on the dribble. He also scored Brugge’s only goal against Manchester City in Champions League league phase.Â

The problem: Club Brugge will likely want a hefty return on their £10 million investment to improve their squad for the Champions League. He has risen through the ranks and proven himself on the biggest European stages, but it remains to be seen whether he can handle the unrelenting demands of the Premier League.Â

Verdict: Yes, but only if Spurs fail to sign a more established target.

João Palhinha (Bayern Munich)

The ex-Fulham star’s tenure at Bayern may be over before it ever really started. Reports out of Germany suggest the Portuguese international could head back to the Premier League or seal a move to Benfica. During his final season in West London, he led the Premier League in tackles, tackles plus interceptions, tackles in the defensive third, tackles in the middle third, and dribblers tackled. Palhinha would immediately shore up Tottenham’s defensive woes and provide experience in the midfield. Â

The problem: He will be 30 years old at the start of next season and he never managed to break into the Bayern squad, despite the Bavarians spending around £50 million to sign him last summer. He failed to score or add an assist in any of the 17 matches he appeared in. He’s more suited to a team that is forced to defend and play without the ball, but struggles to create or provide incisive passing for a team that dominates possession.

Verdict: Yes, but only if Levy can negotiate a loan with an option to buy.

Angelo Stiller (Stuttgart)

A potential star in the making who could leave Stuttgart for the right price. After being named to The Athletic’s Bundesliga Team of the Season in 2023-24, the former Bayern academy player was nominated by the Bundesliga for their Team of the Season this past campaign. He’s an extraordinary distributor who adds goals and assists. Entering his prime footballing years after a relatively slow start to his career, he possesses a similar skill set to Joshua Kimmich and, dare I say, Luka Modrić.Â

The problem: He is reportedly on the radar of Real Madrid and Liverpool, despite the former opting to sign young midfield phenom Franco Mastantuono. Stuttgart are believed to be seeking a transfer fee of around £40 million to let him leave, but Stiller could stay in Gerany for another season and bide his time until a bigger club comes calling.Â

Verdict: Yes, a potentially transformative player for Spurs.

Adam Wharton (Crystal Palace)

Palace’s left-footed maestro is still only 21 years old, but his talent and work rate are undeniable. He’s tough, distributes the ball all over the pitch, and has the skill to wriggle out of tight spaces to start attacks. He seems to have a preternatural understanding of the game and can play in either the six or the eight. A groin injury in October kept Wharton out of action for three months last season, but he returned in fine form and started Palace’s historic 1-0 FA Cup victory over Manchester City.

The problem: Rumors have been swirling that suggest it would take an astronomical fee up to £100 million to convince Palace to sell the England international. Wharton would be tremendous signing for now and the future. But he has yet to score a goal in the Premier League, and adding him to the squad risks stunting Archie Gray’s development.

It's looking like the end of the line for Son Heung

It's looking like the end of the line for Son Heung-min at Tottenham - Hotspur HQ
Description

Tottenham supporters have already had an emotional summer. Not long after securing a historic Europa League title triumph, Tottenham fired the manager responsible for bringing that trophy home, as they unceremoniously dumped Ange Postecoglou on a Friday night after getting everyone's hopes up that he'd be staying after all.

Postecoglou was very popular in the locker room, so his sacking was not taken kindly by the players. But all of that drama has already died down thanks to the optimism of new hire Thomas Frank. However, the recent peace could give way to more grief, as a Tottenham legend could indeed soon follow Postecoglou out the door.

Although Frank seems to have Cristian Romero sewn up as a key player who will stay despite the transfer rumors, it appears he hasn't taken the same view of captain Son Heung-min.

Thomas Frank has made his choice

According to a report from TBR Football's Graeme Bailey and Jamie Brown, Tottenham manager Thomas Frank is willing to let Son Heung-min go this summer. There was initially uncertainty regarding Son's status at Spurs and an understanding that the ball was in the club legend's court, but it appears that if it were up to Frank, he'd move on from Son to start a new era at the club in the attack.

Now that doesn't necessarily mean that Son is guaranteed to go or that Tottenham are pushing him out. It just means that if Son wants to leave, Frank won't stand in his way. More than that, it means Frank doesn't really see Son as part of his plans and has his eye towards the future, which is understandable, even if it hurts Tottenham supporters.

Son will be 33 when the 2025/26 season begins, and while Tottenham would benefit greatly from his experience and the fact that he still tied the team lead in Premier League goal contributions despite being in a down year with injuries, Spurs do need to move on at some point. And maybe Frank is high enough on Mathys Tel to hand the Frenchman the keys to the left wing.

Ultimately, Son still does decide his destiny, but if after a meeting with Frank it becomes clear that the new Danish manager has no real role for him, Son may see this as the right opportunity to leave Tottenham on a high note and get one last big paycheck in his career from abroad. At this point, it feels like a Son departure this summer is the most likely outcome.

Thomas Frank has convinced one of Tottenham's heroes to stay

Thomas Frank has convinced one of Tottenham's heroes to stay - Hotspur HQ
Description

Former Brentford manager Thomas Frank steps into his role at Tottenham Hotspur with a weight of expectations after both his positive exploits with a Premier League club holding fewer resources and the dismissal of the beloved, Europa League-winning manager Ange Postecoglou.

So far, Tottenham fans have taken warmly to Frank despite the controversial circumstances of the Postecoglou firing, and he's had a strong early start to his run. He's pushing for all the right targets - such as Brentford right winger Bryan Mbeumo and Crytsal Palace attacking midfielder Eberechi Eze - and he's already retained the exciting Mathys Tel on the left wing.

One of his biggest challenges, though, is navigating the uncertainty around two of Tottenham's most important and beloved players in Son Heung-min and Cristian Romero. In the case of the former, the player's own desires will govern his future, which is, in itself, a win for Frank and Tottenham in fan perception, as Spurs fans should be happy that the club reportedly won't try to push the captain and club legend out for a few extra bucks from Saudi Arabia or Turkey.

But the Romero case is more important. Romero was close to Postecoglou, and after it seemed like Spurs had turned the corner on the Romero to Atletico Madrid transfer rumors, the abrupt dismissal of Big Ange seemed to threaten their chances at keeping the Europa League Player of the Tournament.

Tottenham negated the sting of losing Ange Postecoglou

Right now, Tottenham fans can breathe a sigh of relief, because it looks like the vice captain has been convinced to stay. According to a report from top Argentinian outlet TyC Sports, there is a different tune being sung around Romero at Tottenham despite Diego Simeone's public overtures to the 27-year-old Argentinian star center back.

Romero reportedly has a number of factors at Tottenham that are pointing in the direction of him staying, including the fact that he just helped Spurs reach the Champions League for next season by winning the Europa League.

But perhaps the biggest and most intriguing was the appointment of Frank, which is seen as a breath of fresh air around the club and a new project that could convince Romero to stay for one or more seasons at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

What makes this so interesting from a Spurs perspective is the fact that one of the whole points regarding the rumors of Romero leaving was the firing of Postecoglou. So if Frank is such a big positive, his energy and optimism negate the sting of losing Big Ange. With neither Atletico nor any other club coming close to Tottenham's demands of 70 million pounds for Romero, it looks like Frank has fulfilled the final task in convincing Romero to stay.

Tottenham set to bid big on high

Tottenham set to bid big on high-upside, controversial forward - Hotspur HQ
Description

There is optimism that a bold new era could be beginning at Tottenham Hotspur under Thomas Frank, who was recently hired to take over for Ange Postecoglou - another bold manager who brought Spurs their first Europa League title victory in 41 years.

Frank is known for producing some of the most exciting attacking talents in the Premier League over the years. First, it was striker Ivan Toney. And last season, Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa were two of the best forwards in the Premier League with a combined 39 goals while Mikel Damsgaard and Kevin Schade were also highly impressive.

While Frank is aiming to bring Mbeumo and Wissa, he isn't only looking at former Brentford players as Tottenham transfer targets this summer. The Danish manager has been linked to a variety of top attackers around the Premier League and Europe as a whole, such as Rennes' Armand Kalimuendo and Crystal Palace's Eberechi Eze.

Tottenham want to sign one of their rivals' best players

According to a new report from The Guardian's Barry Glendenning, Tottenham have turned their focus to wantaway West Ham center forward Mohammed Kudus, who is one of the most talented but also one of the most inconsistent attacking players in the Premier League.

London rivals West Ham seem open to selling Kudus this summer in order to sign other players who fit what they want to do better, and Kudus is someone the Hammers can sell for a lot of money. Tottenham are prepared to bid as much as 50 million pounds in order to test out West Ham's willingness to sell the Ghanian international, though that bid would still be under his release clause of about 85 million pounds, which it seems like only Saudi Pro League clubs would be interested in activating.

Kudus is being monitored by the biggest clubs in the Premier League, as Tottenham's bigger London rivals Arsenal and Chelsea have already been linked to the electrifying dribbler from West Ham. Frank has worked wonders with raw attacking talents, so you can only imagine what he'd be able to do with a 24-year-old who averaged 4.9 combined dribbles completed and fouls drawn per game in a down year.

West Ham almost certainly aren't going to be willing to sell Kudus for just 50 million pounds, but they will have to readjust their expectations and sell the player for less than the release clause, especially if Kudus pushes his way out. Tottenham need to convince both West Ham and Kudus, but if they are willing to bid a little more and Frank is confident he can work his magic with him, this is a a deal Spurs supporters should watch closely this summer.

Tottenham are going to do right by Son Heung

Tottenham are going to do right by Son Heung-min this summer - Hotspur HQ
Description

Although Son Heung-min finished the 2024/25 season stumbling with a nagging foot injury that more than halved his production from the first half of the campaign, he is still the man of the moment for Tottenham Hotspur.

Even before the historic Europa League title triumph, Son had already established himself as one of the greatest legends in Tottenham history, and he then definitively surpassed current Bayern Munich star striker Harry Kane as the best contemporary Spur by captaining the side to their first Europa League title in 41 years, having once led a sans-Kane Tottenham to the Champions League Final six years prior.

But Son faces a difficult decision this summer. He can leave Tottenham on a high with one year left on his contract as a Europa League champion with no risk of staining his legacy with Spurs by turning in a disappointing 2025/26 campaign as a 33-year-old.

Son Heung-min has major interest from Saudi Arabia

He could also stay with Tottenham, captaining their return to the Champions League and showing that he still has plenty left in the tank. Even in a down year with injuries, Son still tied James Maddison for the Tottenham team lead in Premier League goal contributions.

Whatever Son decides, Tottenham apparently aren't going to force him out of the door. Per a report from talkSPORT's Ben Jacobs, three Saudi Pro League sides are interested in spending upwards of 40 million euros on Son while giving the South Korean superstar at least 30 million euros in wages to entice him to be one of the next mainstream faces of a league that includes Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo.

In the report, Jacobs writes that Tottenham won't try to sway Son's opinion and cash in on him. Out of respect to their captain and greatest legend, Daniel Levy and Spurs are going to let the player decide instead of selling him to the highest bidder, no matter how lucrative a Saudi Pro League or Turkish Super Lig offer may be.

Son will certainly have his options to choose from when it comes to enticing wage offers from abroad, but there is something special about him staying at Tottenham and retiring there. Spurs fans should be cynical about how Levy will react to a big enough offer for Son, but if the bids are indeed around 30-50 million euros, there's no point in Tottenham selling more pieces of their souls to jettison a club legend who could still be important to their building efforts in 2025/26 under Thomas Frank.

Daniel Levy finally explains why Tottenham hired Thomas Frank

Daniel Levy finally explains why Tottenham hired Thomas Frank - Hotspur HQ
Description

Daniel Levy clearly woke up feeling brave. The Tottenham chairman, despised by a big portion of the fanbase, isn't one for public/social media appearances.

However, in a recent interview released on the club's official YouTube channel, Levy was comforted by new CEO and long-time ally—they made that clear—Vinai Venkatesham and the ability to rehearse. There was no chance of unscripted discomfort.

It was Venkatesham's first chance to speak indirectly to supporters after the club announced his arrival as CEO in April—an appointment which signalled a considerable shift in Tottenham's hierarchy.

The seven-minute interview didn't quite veer into the realm of a Levy love-in, although Vinai was complimentary of our long-time chairman and said the 63-year-old was a major reason why he opted to join the club. The former Arsenal CEO does come across well, and he, along with Levy, explained why the bold decision of sacking Ange Postecoglou to appoint Thomas Frank was made in the wake of the club's Europa League success in Bilbao.

Daniel Levy vague in explanation of Ange Postecoglou's sacking to hire Thomas Frank

This was a chance for Levy to provide more than the expected details on Ange's sacking, which was made 16 days after the final in northern Spain. However, the chairman merely outlined that it was the "need to compete in all competitions" that led to the Australian's demise. "We felt that we needed a change," he said.

Cheers.

Levy then went on to speak about the new manager, whom he's clearly excited about. The Dane was labelled "highly intelligent, a great communicator, and a super human being" by his new boss, while Vinai added that Spurs' "thorough process" to identify Ange's successor involved ten defined characteristics that they thought important to be a successful Spurs manager.

More than 30 candidates were assessed and a shortlist was drawn up, but the new CEO asserted that Frank was "absolutely the number one candidate". Vinai cited the Dane's track record with developing young players as his main source of excitement, with the squad he's inheriting boasting an array of starlets with the potential to blossom into something special.

Encouragingly, the pair spoke about the need to build off our Europa League success and to continue winning. “We’ve won a European trophy, but it isn’t enough. What we haven’t done is more important, we need to win the Premier league, we want to win the Champions League," was how Levy wrapped up the interview.

Nice. I'm sure the two will share a bottle of red this evening.

Tottenham actually granted one of Ange Postecoglou's most important wishes

Tottenham actually granted one of Ange Postecoglou's most important wishes - Hotspur HQ
Description

There's no question that Tottenham fans are sour about the way the club canned Ange Postecoglou, leaving him in a holding pattern for weeks after he delivered a historic Europa League title for them before dismissing him on a Friday night when all the players and most of the supporters had talked themselves optimstically for a better future under Big Ange.

Spurs, though, did at least hire the strongest manager who was realistically available in Brentford's Thomas Frank. The Danish coach has outperformed Postecoglou in the Premier League and has an unquestionably high tactical acumen, having produced a handful of the league's biggest attacking breakout stars over the past couple of seasons.

Tottenham have already sealed one official transfer for Frank this summer, acquiring Mathys Tel on a permanent basis from Bayern Munich. The 20-year-old joins Spurs for just 35 million euros as one of the most talented 20-year-old left wingers on the planet - a ripe gem for Frank to turn into a shining star to potentially replace Son Heung-min.

But when Tel inevitably succeeds at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the coming years, let's not forget that the Frenchman's permanent stay in Tottenham was the wish of the old Spurs coach, Ange Postecoglou.

Ange Postecoglou saw the vision all along

Back in early February, Postecoglou told reporters when askesd if he wanted Tel to stay in Tottenham for longer than the loan they just signed him to from Bayern in January, Big Ange responded, "I didn't bring him here for six months."

It's clear that Postecoglou saw Tel's talent, athleticism, passion for the game, and buy-in to the Tottenham sporting project merited a longer stay. His plan all along was to get Daniel Levy and Spurs to bring Tel in the door and watch them become convinced enough to sign him from Bayern.

The process all played out exactly as Postecoglou planned it, and it's a shame that Tel and Postecoglou won't get the opportunity to work together. You can tell from how they interacted with each other that they were big fans mutually and that Postecoglou wanted to be THE key manager in Tel's development.

He'll now have Frank, who, admittedly, does seem equally intrigued by the uber-talented forward. Tel definitely has a bright future in North London, and he can go on to become another key part of Postecoglou's legacy at the club, alongside the Europa League title both also helped Spurs win.

Tottenham could let long-time dream transfer target join Antonio Conte instead - Hotspur HQ
Description

Tottenham Hotspur are going to have a busy transfer window this summer as they prepare the new squad for a new manager, Thomas Frank. The former Brentford coach comes to the reigning Europa League champions with high expectations, as his predecessor, Ange Postecoglou, was very popular with the Spurs faithful after backing up his words and delivering a major trophy to this long-suffering fanbase.

While Frank and Tottenham have been linked to a number of his stars at Brentford, namely Bryan Mbeumo on the right wing, Spurs have been looking at other players and other positions, too, including those targets before Frank's arrival.

One of those players is Manchester City star left winger Jack Grealish. Although the former Aston Villa sensation is no longer important to Man City after their signings of young, dynamic options Jeremy Doku and Savinho, it's easy to forgete that Grealish was once exactly that player before Pep Guardiola forced him to sacrifice himself into something else.

Grealish's sacrifice was essential to Manchester City winning the treble in 2023, and even since he has fallen off the radar at the Etihad, Grealish has remained linked to Tottenham and is now officially available after City left him off the Club World Cup squad list this summer.

Napoli love their Premier League signings

But althuogh Grealish could make sense as a left wing option with Son Heung-min potentially headed for an exit to Saudi Arabia or Turkey this year, it doesn't appear Tottenham are as interested in the 29-year-old veteran anymore.

The Telegraph's Matt Law reports that while Napoli and other clubs are considering a splashy move for the Manchester City standout, Tottenham are not expected to be among the teams calling Guardiola for Grealish's services.

It would be quite something to see Grealish in Serie A. We usually see players jump from Italy to England, which explains almost half the Tottenham starting lineup right now, but the reverse jump proved to be very successful for the likes of Romelu Lukaku and, most recently, Scott McTominay - both were vital to Antonio Conte surprisingly conquering Italian football with the Partenopei after their woeful finish in 2023/24.

Conte worked wonders with McTominay, and it appears Napoli and Conte are targeting Premier League stars, specifically those with the winning mentality from Guardiola's Manchester City. Already, they've welcomed iconic Premier League playmaker Kevin De Bruyne to join McTominay in midfield, and, now, they are being closely linked to Grealish.
