Description

Tottenham Hotspur were mulling over several options this past summer when they were searching for candidates to replace Ange Postecoglou, who was a beloved figure around Spurs and had just won the Europa League for the first time in 41 years at the club.

But after finishing 17th in the Premier League, Spurs wanted to move on from Postecoglou, whose tactics were quickly figured out by league rivals. They did not take long to settle on Thomas Frank, who was coveted by other Premier League giants in their own managerial searches over the past couple of years, having built a reputation for being something of a tactical savant in turning Brentford into a perennially solid side.

Well, Spurs have seen anything but solidity from Frank in the early going, and as the embarrassing losses pile up, including two dreadful performances against bitter rivals Arsenal and Chelsea, Spurs supporters are increasingly out on a manager who has even gone so far as to openly insult them as a fan base at press conferences.

Tottenham could be one of his suitors

There are not many viable options available, though, and if Spurs were to move on from Frank in 2026, there is a feeling that the club may settle for another mid table Premier League manager. And there is now one to watch closely.

Per a new report from Fabrizio Romano, Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner will soon be available for hire. Fab says that Glasner, once monitored by Real Madrid as a coaching option after winning the Europa League with Eintracht Frankfurt, is not interested in signing a new deal. He states that his understanding is the Austrian manager "plans not to sign new deal at Crystal Palace". Glasner will reportedly continue to focus on Palace's success this season, but he has already made his choice to move on in the future.

That means Glasner is likely walking away from Palace one year after threatening to walk out of the club if they were to have sold Marc Guehi to Liverpool on transfer deadline day this summer. Now, Palace will lose both for free.

Glasner's treatment of Palace this season and mediocre results are cause for concern, and he may be a lateral move from Frank. But he is better than the other mid level Premier League options, given he actually won a significant trophy with the Eagles last season in the FA Cup and also won the Europa League in Frankfurt in the past. He is one to watch for sure, though Spurs supporters will have mixed feelings about him.

'Are tracking' - Fabrizio Romano drops intriguing striker transfer news that has Tottenham fans on alert - Hotspur HQ
Description

Tottenham Hotspur have a serious lack of goals again this season. Their leading scorer in the Premier League is Richarlison, though fans who actually watch the games can clearly tell that he is not a reliable scorer and his all around game precludes him from being the main starter over loan signing Randal Kolo Muani.

If Spurs are unable to keep Kolo Muani beyond the 2025/26 season after his loan deal with PSG expires, they will have no reliable long term options at striker. Dominic Solanke has been too injured to count upon, and Richarlison is someone Spurs will actively move on from in the summer. Mathys Tel has been an intriguing option at striker, but the feeling is that his long term future lies on the left wing.

So while Spurs are mostly after wingers this January transfer window to upgrade their attack, there is still need for a long term solution at the striker position. And there is an underrated breakout star this season who has always been worth Spurs time and could finally become a prime target this winter.

Tottenham should be ready to battle Barcelona

According to a new report from Fabrizio Romano, Barcelona is not the only club tracking Levante star Etta Eyong, who just moved from Villarreal to the Frogs in the summer 2025 transfer window. Per Fab, Premier League clubs are also watching Eyong closely during this AFCON tournament for Cameroon, with Eyong scoring his first goal of the tournament on Christmas Eve.

Tottenham should be among the Premier League clubs monitoring Eyong closely, because he is a dynamic and talented young forward with good finishing chops and checks off a lot of the boxes that Tottenham are looking for at striker. He could be a great upgrade on Richarlison as part of a pairing with Kolo Muani until the season ends - and maybe beyond that if RKM stays.

Eyong has scored 6 goals in 15 La liga games between Villarreal and Levante this season, and while that may not seem like much, his scoring record of 5 in 12 games as a new player for a smaller club like Levante is actually a pretty massive return, especially for a 22 year old.

He is a good bit younger than the main strikers Tottenham have, and he is already better than them. Eyong creates chances for himself, finishes at an above average level, and is supremely underrated in his hold up play. People underestimate AFCON as a haven to scout talent, but Eyong should be a striker near the top of Spurs list.

'Situation is precarious' - Tottenham transfer flop trying to force his way out - Hotspur HQ
Description

Tottenham Hotspur supporters are wondering who exactly their club will bring in to vastly upgrade an attack that has been one of the Premier League's most anemic in recent weeks, putting up poor displays against the likes of Nottingham Forest and even Wolves during the current campaign.

Spurs struggle to score against most opponents, and that's even noting that new signings Randal Kolo Muani and Mohammed Kudus have been pretty successful. With Thomas Frank not giving Mathys Tel chances, the left wing position has been a vacuum devoid of goal scoring in the post Son Heung-min era, and now that Antoine Semenyo has already rejected Spurs, it's anyone's guess as to who will come in this January.

Meanwhile, Tottenham are pondering the sales they could make this winter, too, as there is a lot of dead weight in the squad that did not go in the summer. Manor Solomon is flunking out of Villarreal on loan after Spurs failed to sell him, Yves Bissouma is inexplicably still a member of the squad despite contributing nothing, and now Radu Dragusin is agitating for what could be a welcome move out.

Tottenham will be happy to sell

Dragusin's agent is busy making the rounds to reporters, and it is quite obvious that the former Serie A center back wants to leave Tottenham as soon as possible. His agent said, via Roma Press, “No one has called me yet. The situation is precarious. There are interests and offers from several clubs, including from England, but a smaller club than Tottenham. A big Italian club would be better.”

Well, the good news for Radu Dragusin and his agent is that all the Italian outlets are reporting that the big clubs in Italy are interested. Roma, AC Milan, Napoli, and Inter Milan have all been concretely linked, and a reunion with Juventus is also potentially on the table if the Bianconeri are able to clear out squad space for another center back.

Since joining in the January transfer window in 2024, Dragusin has, quite frankly, been a transfer bust. He has made ill disciplined errors, basic positional mistakes, and has not been on the level speed wise or on the ball of a Premier League center back. But he fit Serie A perfectly and was excellent there, and you can tell from that quote from his agent that they understand a move back to Italy is best for his career. He is a good defender, just not the right fit for Tottenham.

Fabrizio Romano reveals another forward transfer target for Tottenham

'Seriously consider his exit' - Fabrizio Romano reveals another forward transfer target for Tottenham - Hotspur HQ
Description

Antoine Semenyo was the clear priority transfer target for Tottenham Hotspur at the forward positions, but it did not take long for the Bournemouth breakout star to reject Spurs with virtually all the Premier League Big Six - besides, notably, his childhood favorite club Arsenal - interested in acquiring his services from the Cherries.

Before the January transfer window even opened, though, Tottenham fell out of the race, and although Liverpool and Manchester United have not fully given up yet, it has become abdundantly clear that Manchester City are the favorites, owing to the Citizens being Semenyo's preferred transfer destination.

Of all the teams for Semenyo to choose besides Spurs, Man City are by far the best option, because they open up options that could be available for Spurs this winter whom some Tottenham fans view as being as (or even more) favorable than Semenyo.

Savinho isn't the only option

The most obvious is Savinho, a winger whom Spurs tried to sign in August but were unable to pry from Manchester City. Another is Omar Marmoush, a goal scoring left winger who could be an ideal fit for what Tottenham are missing up front.

And now, there is a third name who could be made available. According to a report from Fabrizio Romano, youngster Oscar Bobb could leave Manchester City this January window. He will "seriously consider his exit" if the Antoine Semenyo transfer from Bournemouth is successfully completed by the Citizens. Per Romano, "several clubs" have already reached out to Man City with interest, though the only club he concretely links is Borussia Dortmund, the club most known for signing top young talents. Their last big winger move from Man City? Jadon Sancho, who was a Bundesliga Player of the Season contender for BVB.

Bobb has not been scintillating for Manchester City, but he is only 22 years old and has been good enough to start five games for the Citizens this season despite playing on a roster loaded with wingers. He has even started more Premier League matches this season than Marmoush, which says a lot about how Pep Guardiola views him.

But Bobb is not any younger than Savinho, nor is he more productive - not even in a down year for the Brazilian. Although he would be cheaper and is a viable option for Spurs to consider, if Tottenham are going to sign another left footed right winger from Man City, Savinho is still the favorite.

Description

After Antoine Semenyo swiftly rejected them and is now increasingly closer to Premier League title contenders Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur have to head back to the drawing board as they look to beef up their woeful attack in the January transfer window to improve upon an embarrassing 14th place ranking in the league heading into Christmas.

Spurs supporters are mostly zeroing in on Savinho, who was linked to the club in the summer transfer window but was unable to join due to Man City's unwillingness to sell someone they could not replace. Well, after struggling to start the season, Savinho is on the verge of being replaced by Semenyo, who has been one of the very best players in the Premier League this season.

Savinho will help out on the wings, but Tottenham could still be after someone to man the middle. And before acquiring Randal Kolo Muani, who spent the 2024/25 season lighting up Serie A with Juventus, on loan from PSG, Spurs were briefly linked to Chelsea transfer flop Christopher Nkunku.

He used to be one of the best in the world

Once one of the best players in Europe, Nkunku led RB Leipzig to their first major trophy in the DFB Pokal and was one of the dominant forces of the Bundesliga for years. His playmaking was a big reason why Timo Werner ended up at clubs like Chelsea nad Tottenham.

But Nkunku could not cut the mustard in the Premier League himself. That may have largely been due to injuries, but so far in the 2025/26 season, he is not exactly lighting it up in Serie A either. And now, AC Milan are already looking to cut ties with him this winter.

According to a report from Calciomercato.com's Daniele Longo, AC Milan are already shopping Christopher Nkunku due to their sheer disappointment in his start at the club. Nkunku has not met expectations at all, and Milan reportedly feel that he is wilting under the pressure and is simply too passive to turn it around and be an ultimate success at the club. It also does not help that his fitness woes from Chelsea have continued at the San Siro.

It looks like Milan and Nkunku's agent Pini Zahavi are both searching for a solution, so there is a strong likelihood Nkunku switches allegiances again after six months. He could be an easy, cheap signing for Tottenham to roll the dice on as another option alongside Richarlison and Randal Kolo Muani up top at striker. He is far from the most appealing player to sign, but he is a center forward worth monitoring.

Tottenham quietly get transfer boost in latest winger battle with Manchester United

'Would not pursue' - Tottenham quietly get transfer boost in latest winger battle with Manchester United - Hotspur HQ
Description

Although Tottenham Hotspur were at one point seen as one of the favorites to land Antoine Semenyo, it became abundantly clear over the past week that Spurs were no longer one of the teams in serious contention for the Bournemouth breakout superstar as Liverpool, Manchester City, and, once again, even Manchester United had lapped them in the competition.

Tottenham and Manchester United have been going to battle a lot lately. Even after Spurs beat Man United in the Europa League Final in Bilbao, Spain, the cachet of the Red Devils proved to be too strong, as they beat Spurs all ends up for one of the summer 2025 transfer window's marquee signings in right winger Bryan Mbeumo. Even the Thomas Frank connection could not help Spurs touch this one.

Even though Man United have also seemingly lost out on Semenyo, who is closing in on a big transfer to Manchester City, there is still yet a third high profile winger target that could link these two Big Six Premier League powers back together on the transfer market - and that would be RB Leipzig breakout prospect gem Yan Diomande.

Tottenham have a little more time

According to a new report from talkSPORT's Alex Crook, Manchester United are indeed eyeing Diomande as a possible transfer alternative to Antoine Semenyo. Since Man United have seemingly lost out on Semenyo to Man City, that would then give Tottenham Hotspur a big reason to worry about signing the Ivorian Bundesliga standout, right?

Well, Crook also reports that Manchester United "would not pursue" this interest in Diomande in the January transfer window and are instead more interested in signing the Leipzig man in the summer 2026 transfer window.

While Diomande's expected price tag of nine figures and Leipzig's likely unwillingness to sell a very important player (with six goals from the wing, no less) in the middle of the season means that this probably isn't such a huge boost, it is a boost for Totteham nonetheless.

That's because it opens the door for Diomande to be a bigger possibility in the winter if Manchester United are less inclined to make the move, and it also, at least, buys time for Spurs to pursue him in the summer when they maybe have more bargaining power or can even get Leipzig to reduce their transfer demands a little bit. Savinho is the clear top target for Tottenham right now, but as Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall can attest, everyone knows how much Spurs loves their teenage prospects.

Blockbuster transfer now one step closer to Tottenham

'Could leave' - Blockbuster transfer now one step closer to Tottenham - Hotspur HQ
Description

Over the past several weeks, no single player had been linked to Tottenham Hotspur more than Bournemouth star winger Antoine Semenyo. But as many Spurs supporters had feared, it did not take long for the childhood Arsenal fan to outright reject Spurs overtures, even considering that the Gunners themselves were not really at all interested in the Ghanaian breakout star.

Tottenham took a back seat to Liverpool, Manchester United, and Manchester City in the Semenyo transfer battle before ceding defeat recently. And shortly after Spurs pulled out of the Semenyo race, Manchester City have seemingly won the signature of the second best player in the Premier League this season behind only Man City superstar striker Erling Haaland.

Semenyo officially joining Manchester City would be music to Tottenham's ears, because Spurs fans are hoping they can sign one of the star forwards from the Citizens who could potentially move to the open market with Semenyo secured.

Tottenham fans have a clear target now

And no single player piques Spurs fans interest more than Savinho. The former Girona man had a nice first season at the Etihad in 2024/25, and while he started the 2025/26 campaign very poorly, he has shown signs of rebirth in recent weeks, specifically in a scintillating substitute appearance against Real Madrid in the Champions League.

According to La Liga transfer expert Eduardo Burgos of Diario AS, Antoine Semenyo is indeed "one step away" from leaving Bournemouth for Manchester City as the January 2026 transfer window looms. Burgos goes on to state that Semenyo has "made it clear" he wants Man City. And with that transfer secured, Savinho "could leave" now.

That report from Burgos is subtle confirmation of what Tottenham Hotspur supporters have been hoping for. Semenyo basically clears the way for Savinho, whom Spurs wanted to sign in August, to join the Lilywhites this winter.

Savinho will be about the same, if not a little more, as Semenyo in terms of price, but since Tottenham were flatly rejected by Semenyo, this is a case of beggars can not be choosers. And while Semenyo had more goals and the better performances this season, Savinho was even better in La Liga on Girona a couple of years ago and has more athleticism, explosiveness, and upside, though he is not quite the right footed goal scoring left winger Spurs are dreaming to complete their attack. In an ideal world, Spurs would combine Savinho with that left winger, but, alas, Savinho alone may be all there is.

3 European giants ask to sign Tottenham defender valued at 30M

Description

For the most part, Tottenham Hotspur supporters are thinking about which players could be joining their beloved club in the January transfer window, because even though Antoine Semenyo is no longer on the table and increasingly closer to Manchester City, the Citizens have a few dream targets for Spurs attack.

At the same time, Spurs are going to be just as busy trying to sell off some of the players they could not in the preceding summer transfer window. Yves Bissouma is the obvious name to leave the N17 this winter, but there are others, still, who could make their exit.

One of those players is the talented Radu Dragusin. The former Juventus prospect joined Spurs in a winter window not too long ago after shining for Genoa, but he never really fit Ange Postecoglou's playing style and was often left exposed defensively by the all out setup.

Tottenham may not give him a chance

Perhaps things could be different for Dragusin under Thomas Frank, but it is hard to see him even getting a chance. Dragusin is only just starting to recover from an injury, and, already, Serie A clubs are circling for a reunion in January.

According to a new report from transfer expert Mirko Di Natale of Tutto Juve, AC Milan, Inter Milan, and Napoli have all inquired to Tottenham Hotspur about a potential Radu Dragusin transfer this January. Juventus may also be interested in a reunion, too, but that would depend on whether or not they are able to sell a defender.

Per Di Natale, Tottenham are interested in selling the young center back, and they would be willing to part ways with Dragusin for a transfer fee of about 30 million pounds. They would also be open to selling off Dragusin on a loan deal with an option to buy.

Dragusin was much better in Serie A than the Premier League and probably fits that league better. Now, he could be a success for Spurs, but there is not really a spot for him. Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero are two of the best center backs on this entire planet and do not cede starts easily. Behind them, Kevin Danso is a starting caliber center back. And then Spurs went out and signed Kota Takai at the position this summer, too. With Luka Vuskovic shining on loan at Hamburg this season and ready for the Spurs first team in 2026/27, Dragusin has no place.

Thomas Frank offers frustrating Dejan Kulusevski, Dominic Solanke injury news updates

Thomas Frank offers frustrating Dejan Kulusevski, Dominic Solanke injury news updates - Hotspur HQ
Description

Tottenham Hotspur are back on another losing streak, and as they sit buried 14th in the Premier League table heading into Christmas, Spurs supporters can only help but wonder if the club are somehow in an even worse position now this season under Thomas Frank than they were last season despite a surprising flurry of summer activity.

The injury woes have not helped matters, though, and it is easy to forget that Tottenham are still without three key attacking players. James Maddison is out with a torn ACL that will keep him on the sidelines until the very end of the 2025/26 Premier League campaign.

Meanwhile, the prolonged absences of right winger Dejan Kulusevski and striker Dominic Solanke are even bigger sources of frustration. Spurs would have expected to have both star players back by now. Kulu is out with a lingering knee injury he sustained at the end of the last season, and there is no clarity on his return time table.

Thomas Frank is being annoying again

Solanke's injury news is even more difficult to come by. The man has only appeared in three games off the bench this entire campaign due to a recurring foot injury that required surgery, but since the operation, Frank has been tight lipped with zero concrete updates for fans to sink their teeth into.

At a mid week press conference with local rivals Crystal Palace on the horizon after Christmas, Thomas Frank told Tottenham Hotspur supporters that he still has no time table for a return for either Dominic Solanke and Dejan Kulusevski when specifically asked by reporters if there were any fresh updates on the pair.

Frank doubled down on his spree non updates by saying, via The Spurs Web, "Same as I said before. Both of them, I will be very happy when I can announce now they are part of the squad. That’s where it is."

"That's where it is" basically is a whole lot of nothing, but that figures. Frank has offered a lot of condescension and general unhelpfulness in press conferences, and the Solanke and Kulusevski injury news updates are a running gag at this point. And it's all only funny when the coach doing this sort of thing is someone like Bill Belichick back in the day for the NFL's New England Patriots. But if your coach is not winning like Belichick, it is annoying, because, let's face it, Frank being this tight lipped is not proferring any sort of competitive advantage to Spurs.

Tottenham fans learn a cruel reality about a Savinho transfer

Tottenham fans learn a cruel reality about a Savinho transfer - Hotspur HQ
Description

Antoine Semenyo was the preferred transfer target for Tottenham Hotspur going into the January transfer market, but it does not matter how much Spurs want a player if that player has zero interest in joining the club.

As many Spurs supporters had already suspected, it appears Semenyo has no intention of playing for the North London club that rivals his childhood fandom for Arsenal. But instead of having the rug pulled out from under them at the last second, Spurs now know well before the market opens that they do not stand a chance at signing Semenyo against Manchester United, Liverpool, and Manchester City.

The search for alternatives probably will not be a length one, though. Tottenham were already taking long looks at Savinho from Manchester City before the last summer transfer window closed, though Savinho was not available at that time since Man City were reluctant to give up winger depth with Rodrygo Goes unwilling to join them from Real Madrid.

The cost will be eye watering for Tottenham

But if Semenyo goes to Man City, Savinho would be readily available. Omar Marmoush is another potential option Tottenham fans have been hoping for as a goal scoring winger, but when asked about the Egyptian star's availability, top Tottenham transfer journalist Paul O Keefe simply stated that Savinho is the one to watch "more" of the Manchester City star forwards.

That makes sense, and Spurs supporters would be prepared for that. But maybe some fans won't be prepared for the other thing O Keefe said. Later on in the thread, the reporter was asked about the likely cost to purchase the Brazilian standout, and he stated that it would likely take a bid of around 70 million pounds to sway the Citizens.

While that is pretty much around the figure that was thrown about during the summer, it is still a bit jarring to see that Savinho, who barely starts for Manchester City right now, will be more expensive than Antoine Semenyo this winter. Sure, Semenyo plays for the smaller club in Bournemouth and has a set release clause, but, still, he's been a legitimate Premier League Player of the Season candidate whereas Savinho has been pretty awful in the league.

There is also the matter that Savinho is a dynamic left footer who is not known for his goal scoring and plays better on the right than the left. He can actually play at a high level on the left as a true touchline winger, but then that's not how Tottenham will play at their best with a more well rounded striker like Randal Kolo Muani in the middle and Mohammed Kudus already having both the wide playmaker and right footed left winger roles down pat. So Savinho will be costlier than Semenyo and a less ideal fit, but, well, since Semenyo does not want to join, Spurs are the beggers and not the choosers here.
