Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly reached an agreement in principle to sign Crystal Palace superstar Eberechi Eze.

Thomas Frank’s side have been locked in negotiations for the England international over the past week and they have now reached a breakthrough in talks following lengthy discussions on Monday.

Football transfer news expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Tottenham have lodged a proposal worth €69.4 million (£60m), including add-ons, while Ben Jacobs has now reported that an agreement has been struck between the two clubs.

He posted on X: “BREAKING: Tottenham have reached an agreement in principle with Crystal Palace for Eberechi Eze. Palace must now find a replacement with Eze waiting and training as normal.”

Palace have earmarked the likes of Bilal El Khannouss (Leicester City) and Christos Tzolis (Club Brugge) as potential replacements for Eze, as per The Athletic, and the Englishman is unlikely to finalise his proposed move to Tottenham until Oliver Glasner’s side complete a deal for his successor.

Eze, 27, scored 14 goals and provided 11 assists in 43 appearances across all competitions last season, and he was heavily linked with a move to Arsenal before Spurs opted to hijack the deal.

Eberechi Eze to join Tottenham

Eze has been on Tottenham’s radar for months, with FootballTransfers reporting their interest back in September, however they opted to launch a full pursuit following the ACL injury suffered by James Maddison in pre-season.

The England international, who has 12 caps for his country, is expected to become Tottenham’s seventh signing of the 2025 summer transfer window, following the purchases of Mohammed Kudus, Mathys Tel, Kevin Danso, Luka Vuskovic, Kota Takai and Joao Palhinha (loan).

Spurs are also interested in signing Manchester City winger Savinho, although their pursuit of his signature has diminished amid negotiations over a deal for Eze.

Arsenal target PSG star who broke Spurs hearts: Man Utd weight up move

Description

Arsenal have registered their interest in PSG attacker Kang-in Lee just days after the South Korea helped to defeat Tottenham Hotspur in the UEFA Super Cup on Wednesday.

Article continues under the video

Although Lee has struggled to make an impression at Parc des Princes since arriving from Mallorca in 2023, his impact off the bench in the midweek match in Udine helped to change the flow of the fixture. With PSG trailing 2-0 with minutes remaining, his terrific late strike helped change the course of the game, setting up Luis Enrique’s side to win on penalties.

Arsenal are one of a number of teams that are following the situation of the 24-year-old, according to CaughtOffside, which also notes interest from Napoli and Manchester United.

The Gunners, it is claimed, have made “direct contact” to negotiate a deal with Lee, who has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €26 million.

It is added that PSG are open to negotiations and that the player’s priority is to move to a club where he can get more regular starting football.

Kang-in Lee to Arsenal: Analysing the rumour

There is a great deal about this story that does not add up.

Firstly, Lee is unlikely to gain significantly more first-team football at Arsenal this season than he would get at PSG. His role in Paris is liable to become more important, with last term’s packed campaign liable to take its toll on Luis Enrique’s small squad.

Furthermore, PSG are unlikely to be open to a sale at this stage of the window unless an outrageous offer is received. The squad is already lacking in depth in the attacking areas, something that was not apparent last season because they went largely injury free.

Certainly, Lee would be a player who would benefit Mikel Arteta’s squad at Arsenal, but he would likely face the same obstacles in London that he has tackled in Paris.

Are we likely to see him leave PSG this summer? It seems very unlikely.

Tottenham have hijacked Arsenal's move for Eberechi Eze but the player is prioritising a transfer to the Emirates.

Article continues under the video

The news broke on Tuesday that Spurs had joined Arsenal in the race for the Crystal Palace star.

The Gunners have been in talks to sign Eze for some time and have already agreed personal terms but have not completed the transfer as they first need to offload players.

This opened the door to Tottenham to hijack the deal but The Guardian reports that Eze is still prioritising a move to Arsenal.

Eze to Arsenal or Tottenham

The next 48 hours will be crucial in this deal, though, as Eze's release clause of around €78 million expires on Friday.

After this date, Palace will be able to increase Eze's asking price, which could affect whether both Arsenal and Spurs continue to push for the player.

FootballTransfers revealed on Saturday that Arsenal were close to settling on a fee with Palace.

Tottenham are having a busy end to the transfer window as they are also in talks with Man City over the signing of Savinho.

They need reinforcements offensively after the ACL injury to James Maddison.

Eze, who famously scored the winner in the FA Cup final against Man City, has become one of the Premier League’s most admired players in recent years.

He has played for Palace for five years, scoring 39 goals in 166 games.

He is expected to leave Palace this summer in order to make the next step up.

Eze has been capped 11 times by England, scoring one goal. He played at Euro 2024.

Tottenham’s €70m Romero sale is a blessing in disguise as Spurs have UPGRADE lined up

Tottenham’s €70m Romero sale is a blessing in disguise as Spurs have UPGRADE lined up - FootballTransfers
Description

Tottenham Hotspur manager Thomas Frank could offer the club a quick upgrade in the heart of defence, where Cristian Romero is subject to interest from Atletico Madrid.

Article continues under the video

FootballTransfers is able to confirm that Genoa centre-back Koni De Winter is an option being studied by Spurs this summer, particularly if Romero does depart the club.

The Argentine is available for €70 million and it is thought that Atletico Madrid are getting close to agreeing to meet Tottenham’s asking price.

The North London side have already been informed that De Winter will be available for €25 million, but they face competition from Bournemouth and Inter Milan for the 23-year-old Belgium international.

De Winter is already better than Romero

A highly versatile performer, De Winter is capable of filling in at right-back or in central midfield, but his usual role is in the heart of the defence.

He is a highly rated player by data analytics experts SciSports, who indicate that if he were to sign for Spurs, he would do so as the top centre-back. His SciSkill level is higher than that of Romero, Kevin Danso and Micky van de Ven.

De Winter has improved dramatically over the course of the last six months and has seen his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) rocket from around €8m at the beginning of 2024 to €25m now. This is the figure that Tottenham have been quoted to sign him for.

Furthermore, SciSports believes that he has a high ceiling and could become a ‘key player’ at Spurs.

The former Juventus youth can be compared in the style of his defending to Arsenal’s William Saliba or even Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi – a player that Spurs have looked at signing in the past.

With Tottenham potentially fetching €70m for Romero, it would make smart business for them to replace him with De Winter, who would offer them an instant upgrade in the heart of their defence and also a massive profit in the transfer market.

Cristiano Ronaldo Jr wanted by 16 clubs: Man Utd, Spurs race for legend's son

Cristiano Ronaldo Jr wanted by 16 clubs: Man Utd, Spurs race for legend's son - FootballTransfers
Description

Cristiano Ronaldo Jr has caused quite a stir in recent weeks, and it has now been revealed that the son of the Real Madrid and Manchester United legend is wanted by no fewer than 16 clubs.

Article continues under the video

Ronaldo Jr made his debut for the Portugal U15 side earlier this week under the watchful gaze of his father.

“Proud of you my son,” Ronaldo wrote on his social media after the 14-year-old turned out for his country for the first time in a 4-1 victory over Japan.

Now the budding young star is about to take the next major step in his career when he picks his next club – and he is not short of options.

There are 16 teams following Ronaldo Jr, according to a report from The Sun.

Who wants to sign Cristiano Ronaldo Jr?

Manchester United have a scout following the youngster during Vlatko International Tournament in Croatia, with the Old Trafford side having something of an advantage in the race due to the teenager having already featured with them during Cristiano Sr’s previous stint at the club. He played alongside Wayne Rooney’s son Kai during that time.

Indeed, there is a strong Portuguese influence at the Red Devils currently with Ruben Amorim in charge. No doubt this is a more favourable environment to Cristiano Ronaldo than the one he left after falling out with Erik ten Hag.

But it is far from just Man Utd who are following the young star, who, like his dad, currently plays for Al-Nassr.

Elsewhere in the Premier League, Tottenham Hotspur are targeting Cristiano Jr, while no fewer than 10 German clubs, including Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig had him watched.

On top of this, there is interest from Inter, Atalanta, Red Bull Salzburg and another of Cristiano Ronaldo’s former clubs Juventus all following the eye-catching youngster.

Angel Gomes has made a HUGE transfer mistake

Angel Gomes has made a HUGE transfer mistake - FootballTransfers
Description

Angel Gomes has turned down a massive contract offer from West Ham United amid interest from Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.

Article continues under the video

The Lille midfielder is one of the most eligible players on the transfer market this summer, with his contract up with the Ligue 1 side at the end of the season. He will, therefore, be able to depart as a free agent.

Angel Gomes is already able to discuss terms with clubs in the Premier League, with reports indicating that he has knocked back an initial offer from West Ham that was worth €120,000 per week (£100,000).

Although Spurs and Man Utd hold an interest in the player, it would be a grave mistake if he were to turn down the Hammers and move to either of these clubs, according to data analytics experts SciSports.

West Ham is the perfect club for the 24-year-old to develop, according to the firm. Graham Potter’s side have been given a Club Fit score of 86 based on a variety of factors that include everything from potential development and playing time to style and formation.

The Hammers’ score is equal with Napoli and Everton as the best on offer for Gomes. It is rare to see a score just as high.

In particular, development and formation are ideal for him.

Spurs or Man Utd a major gamble for Angel

Bigger wages may well be on offer with Spurs or Man Utd, but the trade off is a far riskier move.

The Red Devils, for example, score only a 62. Ruben Amorim’s side rate poorly across the board when it comes to matching the key factors that have allowed Angel Gomes, who left the Old Trafford academy to get first-team exposure, to thrive in Lille.

There is a similar story at Tottenham. Ange Postecoglou’s side are a little better off with a Club Fit of 62, yet there is equally uncertainty over the future of the Aussie manager, further heightening the risk of moving to Spurs.

So while West Ham might not have the financial muscle of their rivals for Angel Gomes, there is little doubt that they would offer him the best opportunity to realise his potential and possibly even build for a bigger move down the line.

EXCLUSIVE: Tottenham register interest in Man Utd star Garnacho

Tottenham Hotspur have set their sights on Manchester United’s highly rated winger Alejandro Garnacho, with Football Transfers learning that Spurs have lodged a concrete enquiry about the 20-year-old Argentine’s availability.

Article continues under the video

Sources close to the club have revealed that the North London outfit may be prepared to test United’s resolve with a bid in the region of €70 million (£60m), a figure believed to be enough to tempt the Red Devils into selling the dynamic forward.

United initially signed Garnacho from Atletico Madrid’s youth system for just €465,000, meaning any sale would represent a staggering profit. Such a windfall could provide United with much-needed funds to bolster other areas of the squad, which is in desperate need of reinforcement.

For Tottenham, the South American fits the profile of a long-term successor to their talismanic captain Son Heung-min. Garnacho has impressed with his versatility, regularly excelling on the left wing while also showcasing his ability to play across the forward line - traits that align perfectly with Spurs’ vision for the future.

As well as Spurs, Atletico Madrid and Napoli have been linked with the attacker, who has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €37.1 million.

Man Utd ready to sell Garnacho

The door is open to a deal. There have been widespread reports that the Red Devils will consider sales of ‘pure profit’ players such as Garnacho, Marcus Rashford and even Kobbie Mainoo.

New Man Utd head coach Ruben Amorim, meanwhile, has not placed the attacker at the forefront of his plans. Garnacho was frozen out along with Rashford for the Manchester derby in the middle of December, and though he has been able to win back a place in the matchday squad, his only subsequent start came in the FA Cup win on penalties over Arsenal.

While no official bid has yet been submitted, the growing interest in Garnacho highlights Tottenham’s ambition to secure a young, promising talent capable of stepping into the shoes of their current star player Son.

Real Madrid plot €50m signing amid Camavinga struggles

Description

Real Madrid are reportedly willing to submit a €50 million offer to sign Tottenham Hotspur youngster Archie Gray before the January transfer window closes.

Article continues under the video

The 18-year-old joined Spurs from Leeds United for a fee of €41.3m in July and he has racked up 24 appearances across all competitions so far this season amid an injury crisis in north London.

Despite naturally being a central midfielder, who can feature at full-back, Gray has been forced to play as a central defender alongside Radu Dragusin due to injuries to Micky van de Ven and Christian Romero.

However, his performances in Spurs’ backline have attracted the interest of Real Madrid and the Spanish giants are now considering a €50m bid for the England U21 international, as per Fichajes.

Los Blancos have specialised in signing young talents over the past few years, with Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo and Eduardo Camavinga among the players to have arrived at the Santiago Bernabeu during their teenage years.

However, Real Madrid are now looking to sign Gray in a bid to strengthen their options in central midfield.

Luka Modric is due to become a free agent in July and although he could yet sign a contract extension at the club, Los Blancos are now preparing for life after the Croatia legend.

Archie Gray: Eduardo Camavinga’s replacement?

Real Madrid’s reported interest in Gray comes following Camavinga’s dismal display against Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup final on Sunday evening.

The France international conceded a penalty and committed four fouls in total, while he was shown a yellow card and was dribbled past on five occasions. He also arguably should’ve been sent off and he was hooked at half-time by Carlo Ancelotti.

The 22-year-old has impressed since his high-profile move from Stade Rennais in 2021, but he endured a torrid night as Barcelona ran out 5-2 winners.
