Tottenham's official motto "To Dare Is To Do" was echoed in new interim head coach Igor Tudor's first media interview on Tuesday, as the Croatian looks to breathe confidence and restore pride in the badge ahead of this weekend's north London derby against Arsenal. Tudor has called on his new players to "show courage" in the face of adversity after replacing Thomas Frank.

Tottenham's new interim head coach Igor Tudor says "now is not the time to make excuses" as he looks to rectify the club's ailing season with a statement performance and result in his first game in charge against Arsenal on Sunday.

Tudor was appointed until the end of the season, following the sacking of Thomas Frank, who lasted just eight months in the job after replacing Ange Postecoglou.

The 47-year-old Croatian left Italian side Juventus in October 2025 to end a short spell that only began seven months before.

But he is eager to make the perfect first impression with victory in the North London derby in front of his own supporters this weekend.

Arsenal could go into the game seven points clear at the top of the Premier League if they beat Wolves at Molineux on Wednesday night but, speaking to club media on Tuesday, Tudor emitted a sense of calm during his new club's undoubted period of turmoil.

"First priority is to give everything the team needs in these moments," Tudor said. "The team need, I believe, first of all, to get some confidence, to get some courage, but also, in same way, the concrete things in the pitch.

"Of course, I'm coming here knowing that the situation is not easy. There is no time to find excuses. What I said from the first day here, each of us need to give something more, something extra."

Tottenham's turbulent season took another sharp turn last week when the club's board made the decision to part ways with Frank.

The Dane's departure followed a 2-1 home defeat to Newcastle, a result that stretched Spurs' winless Premier League run to eight matches and deepened a growing sense of drift.

Now languishing in 16th place - five points clear of the relegation zone - Tottenham will hope Tudor's arrival can spark a revival.

The spectre of title-chasing Arsenal will not allow for a gentle introduction, and Tudor did not shy away from the scale of the challenge.

"The position of the club at this moment is one that nobody can accept," he continued.

"Every Tottenham fan cannot accept the situation. We are aware of that. But it's not enough to just be aware of that. "The coach needs to show the path, where is the way we want to go, how we want to go, and the players need to accept this."

Tudor arrives acutely aware of both the expectations and the identity of his new club.

'The Hollywood tie' - FA Cup fifth round must-watch matches

Tottenham’s tradition of expansive, front-foot football remains central to the supporters’ demands - and the former full-back signalled his alignment with that ethos.

"I believe in the style," Tudor said. "The style is more important than the system, of course. So every club has its particularity. That is first as a culture of the club, which kind of football they like.

"So it's always important to think about that, but in the same way, not forget who I am, what I want, what the team can achieve.

"So I need to be, with my staff, very intelligent to find the best possible way in a very short time."

Yet style alone will not solve immediate practical concerns. Injuries have thinned the squad, limiting options and complicating tactical plans.

"The situation is not easy because we have a lot of injured players," he conceded. "We need first to find the best system to suit the players that are available, in this moment.

"Maybe this can sound strange, but I believe that the thing that we need to be focused on is training. So the training from today, that's the key."

Jose Mourinho’s key Benfica contract clause frees him up for Real Madrid switch, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur eye Kim Min-jae - Euro Transfer News

In Monday’s Euro Transfer News round-up, a key clause in Jose Mourinho’s Benfica contract could free him up for a swift return to Real Madrid this summer, while Roberto De Zerbi has emerged as a rival to Enzo Maresca to replace Pep Guardiola at Manchester City. Elsewhere, Napoli hope to keep Scott McTominay beyond his current deal, while Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are chasing Kim Min-jae.

Mourinho contract clause revealed

Jose Mourinho’s exit from Real Madrid was, as with many of his departures, a little acrimonious.

However, ever since the sacking of Xabi Alonso and his temporary replacement by Alvaro Arbeloa, there has been a suggestion that the Portuguese manager could be brought back to the Bernabeu.

Mourinho’s time at Madrid was defined by his effervescent rivalry with Barcelona and Pep Guardiola, and ultimately, he pushed his side all the way to a La Liga victory before things started breaking up.

Now, AS reports that in his contract with Benfica, he is free to give notice soon at the end of the season and walk away from the club - giving Madrid a clear run at him to bring him back to Spain.

The paper explains: "Mourinho's shadow still looms large over Real Madrid, and therefore over Arbeloa himself, due to the impression he left on Florentino Perez and a segment of the fanbase.

"And at a time when the dressing room is showing signs of feeling very strong against its coaches (even prompting Xabi Alonso's departure), the possibility of the Portuguese manager's return is being discussed.

"Well, there is a clause that, although not currently being considered by the Madrid board, does put Mourinho within reach.

"The Portuguese manager, who has a two-year contract in Lisbon, can leave Benfica without any financial penalty within ten days of the final match of the current season.

"He will be able to join any team without paying a release clause, which brings him closer to Real Madrid or any other club that might require his services, or at least facilitates the transfer.

"Mourinho intends to stay at Benfica and build a project more suited to his style of play for next season, but, as these same sources tell AS, a call from Real Madrid could change everything. Mourinho still carries the Madrid club within him."

De Zerbi linked with City job

Igor Tudor is now in place at Tottenham Hotspur, at least until the end of the season. The Croatian head coach stepped in as interim boss in north London following the sacking of Thomas Frank after a string of bad results and growing supporter unrest.

There had been suggestions that Roberto De Zerbi was in line for a swift appointment instead, given he was free from his Marseille obligations, but instead he would now have to wait for the Spurs gig, or indeed another job.

Reports from Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo have him as one of the candidates to replace Pep Guardiola, as speculation continues to grow that the Spaniard will call time on his Manchester City spell in the summer.

De Zerbi had also reportedly been in the frame to take over at Manchester United - another one for the summer - and former Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has repeatedly been cited as the leading candidate for the Etihad gig.

The paper writes: "De Zerbi, on the list to replace Guardiola. Roberto De Zerbi could find a new job this summer.

"The Italian is among the candidates to replace Pep Guardiola at Manchester City if, as seems likely, the Catalan coach leaves the Etihad Stadium in June.

"Although Manchester City wants him to stay, Pep appears ready to end his successful spell at the club."

Napoli want extended McTominay deal

Napoli sporting director Giovanni Manna is keen to extend Scott McTominay’s deal at the club as the Scottish midfielder emerges as a talismanic presence for the Serie A champions.

The 28-year-old former Manchester United man is a hero at the club and his current deal runs out in 2028, and there could be talks that soon come to fruition as both sides want a contract extension.

Corriere dello Sport reports that Manna is now keen to get a deal over the line as the Serie A side look to kick on under Antonio Conte, with a league title looking unlikely this season.

The Italian paper writes: "McTominay isn't just the present: he's the future. A future the club is trying to build with him through a contract extension until 2030: earlier this week, his agent Colin Murdock traveled from England and met with sporting director Manna to lay the foundations for an extension beyond the current 2028 expiry.

"The immediate present, in short, isn't the best. But Napoli, as we were saying, is trying to build a future based more than ever on McTominay's face and beastly physique: his agent arrived in Naples, sat down with Manna, and chatted about news, prospects, numbers, and years.

"Dates: the current contract expires in 2028, but the shared idea between club and player is to continue together and strengthen their relationship, extending it until 2030."

Chelsea and Spurs monitor Kim

South Korean central defender Kim Min-jae is currently happy at Bayern Munich, but Bild journalist Christian Falk believes that he could be moved on in the summer.

Dayot Upamecano recently committed to a new contract at the Bundesliga champions, meaning Bayern could be open to letting the experienced centre-back leave if a good offer comes in.

Both Chelsea and Spurs have been credited with an interest in the defender, with the latter looking to replace defenders such as Kevin Danso and Radu Dragusin.

For Chelsea, they might want to make a move after Liverpool beat them to Rennes defender Jeremy Jacquet.

CFBayern writes: "Both Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur have shown interest in Kim Min-jae, and they have kept him in their shortlist.

"Spurs could be looking to sign a new centre-back next summer, but a lot will depend on who their next permanent manager will be.

"Both Spurs and Chelsea could be closely following Min-jae’s situation. The defender is happy at Bayern, but he is their third-choice defender after Dayot Upamecano and Jonathan Tah.

"Min-jae has still made 10 starts in the Bundesliga, and a further four appearances have come from the bench. He has also made six appearances in the Champions

"After Upamecano signed a new deal at the club, Bayern could be open to selling Kim Min-jae next summer if they receive a handsome transfer fee.

"While Min-jae is happy at Bayern, a potential move to either Spurs or Chelsea cannot be completely ruled out."

Chelsea and Aston Villa keen on Tottenham midfield star Lucas Bergvall before summer transfer window

Chelsea and Aston Villa keen on Tottenham midfield star Lucas Bergvall before summer transfer window - Paper Round

TNT Sports

Tottenham midfielder Lucas Bergvall could see Chelsea and Aston Villa push for his signature this summer, while the club are linked with former head coach Mauricio Pochettino after the 2026 World Cup. Elsewhere, Marseille appear to want to keep Ethan Nwaneri at the club despite Roberto De Zerbi’s departure, and Manchester United could be in the market for one of three goalkeepers.

Spurs reject Bergvall interest

Lucas Bergvall could be a target for Chelsea and Aston Villa this summer after their January interest was rebuffed.

The 20-year-old was less prominent in the north London team under Thomas Frank than he had been when Ange Postecoglou was in charge, leading to contact for the player.

The Athletic reports: "Tottenham Hotspur could face a battle to keep hold of Lucas Bergvall this summer after being forced to rebuff enquiries from rival teams in the winter transfer market.

"Having played a key role under Ange Postecoglou, Thomas Frank used the Sweden international less frequently and often out wide, rather than the central midfield position he favours and tends [to] operate most effectively.

"His situation alerted suitors in England and further afield, with Chelsea and Aston Villa among the 20-year-old’s long-term admirers."

Pochettino linked with Tottenham return

The Daily Express is the latest newspaper to suggest former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino could be the permanent replacement for Thomas Fank.

The outlet suggests that Igor Tudor’s appointment is on a temporary basis only in order to move for Pochettino after the World Cup.

The paper states: "Perhaps the only sensible part of this appointment is the fact that it’s only on an interim basis. And if you read between the lines, it feels pretty obvious why… Spurs want Mauricio Pochettino to return.

"Pochettino is currently in charge of the United States national team, with the Argentine gearing up for this summer’s World Cup in North America. His contract with the nation is set to run until the autumn, which would clear the path for a return to club management following the World Cup.

"It’s easy to see why the Spurs hierarchy would want Pochettino to return. They need an appointment that is going to get the fans back on their side, given the fractured relationship between the Spurs faithful and the boardroom."

Nwaneri still has Marseille future

There were concerns that after Roberto De Zerbi left Marseille Arsenal’s on-loan forward Ethan Nwaneri could be frozen out.

However, the Evening Standard notes that interim boss Jacques Abardonado has kept the youngster in the matchday squad.

The paper writes: "Jacques Abardonado will take charge of a "wounded" Marseille against Strasbourg and the interim head coach has included Nwaneri - on loan from Arsenal - in his first matchday squad.

"Nwaneri scored 13 minutes into his Marseille debut against Lens last month and then sparked red card controversy with [a] horror tackle in [the] Coupe de France win over Rennes at the start of February.

"The 18-year-old was loaned out to Marseille as Arsenal decided working under De Zerbi and playing more regularly would be beneficial for his development.

"Though with the sudden managerial change, it remains to be seen if Nwaneri will keep his place in the starting line-up for the visit of Strasbourg after being taken off at half-time against PSG."

United could move for new keeper

Radek Vitek, Andre Onana, Tom Heaton and Altay Bayindir could all leave Manchester United in the summer, and a trio of goalkeepers are mentioned as potential back-ups to Senne Lammens.

The Manchester Evening News names Melker Ellborg, Robin Roefs and Mile Svilar as candidates for a summer transfer.

The paper explains: "It's expected that a permanent exit for Onana will be sought, with him having two years left on his deal.

"Bayindir was linked with a return to Turkey in January but remained at the club as Lammens' back-up. Vitek has impressed with his performances at Ashton Gate and it's claimed he will get a chance to warrant a place in the first team next summer.

"However, at 22, the Czech shot-stopper will be desperate to build on his encouraging season and could be sold for regular minutes. Finally, Tom Heaton, 39, is out of contract in the summer and could end his spell as third choice.

"Melker Ellborg, Robin Roefs and Mile Svilar are all names linked in recent months."

Gerrard: ‘Under-performers’ at Spurs should feel ‘guilty’ after Frank sacking - TNT Sports

Thomas Frank sacking: Steven Gerrard says ‘under-performers’ at club should feel ‘guilty’ over manager’s exit

TNT Sports experts Steven Gerrard and Owen Hargreaves have given their reaction to Thomas Frank's sacking by Spurs. The Dane was let go after a defeat to Newcastle on Tuesday. Gerrard says the players should "feel guilty" for what has happened and many should take a "long, hard look at themselves", while Hargreaves said Frank was on a hiding to nothing because the club has "so many issues".

Steven Gerrard believes Tottenham's players have to shoulder the blame for Thomas Frank losing his job, with the TNT Sports expert saying several members of the squad should be taking "a long, hard look at themselves".

Frank was sacked following a 2-1 defeat to Newcastle United on Tuesday night, a result which left his side just five points above the Premier League relegation places.

The 52-year-old only arrived at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the summer, when he replaced Ange Postecoglou in the hot seat.

But a turbulent campaign has seen him lose 11 of his 26 league matches at the helm.

As such, supporters were left calling for action from the board, with some even chanting for the return of ex-boss Mauricio Pochettino.

Speaking on TNT Sports, former Liverpool skipper Gerrard says Frank cannot take all the heat for their miserable league position.

Guardiola identifies main reason why Haaland 'a bit down'

"I thought it was a good appointment at the time," Gerrard said. "I think he deserved the opportunity, he was outstanding at Brentford.

"[They are] very different jobs in terms of expectation and pressure. When you’re the manager of Tottenham, you’re expected to win.

"You’re following in the footsteps of [Jose] Mourinho and [Antonio] Conte and it's a different level of job, but they’re just not aligned as a club.

"The players have got to take big responsibility for this sacking. If I was a player in the Tottenham dressing room sitting at home, I would feel guilty."

Frank spent seven years at Brentford before moving to Spurs.

During his time with The Bees, he not only guided the club into the top flight but also established them as a Premier League team.

He did not, however, have a playing career of note and Gerrard thinks the Tottenham squad did not give him the respect he deserved.

"From the off the players haven’t given Thomas Frank a chance collectively and consistently," he added.

"It’s happening too many times where the manager, in these situations, gets the blame, when it’s quite clear to me that there are a few under-performers.

"There are a few injuries but there’s a few in that Tottenham dressing room that need to have a long hard look at themselves in my opinion.

"He wasn’t a huge name, a name that comes with instant box office, your [Thomas] Tuchels, your Mourinhos, your Contes; all these types of names.

"As a player, he deserved that opportunity to be the Tottenham manager and I think collectively they let him down."

"This has been coming" - Hargreaves

This is not the first season in which Spurs have struggled in the Premier League.

Despite winning the UEFA Europa League in 2024/25, they finished 17th in the top flight.

That was their lowest position at the end of a campaign since 1976/77.

Frank was charged with re-establishing Tottenham as one of the 'big six' but the board were forced to act after an eighth league game without a win.

TNT Sports expert Owen Hargreaves echoed some of Gerrard's comments, as he said: "He deserved an opportunity. He did a brilliant job at Brentford.

"Yes, they won the Europa League, but they were dreadful in the Premier League.

"This has been coming for quite some time and I think it's not only on Thomas Frank, it's on the football club.

"The recruitment's not been good enough. You think about Tottenham; you think about Gareth Bale, Luka Modric, [Harry] Kane and Son [Heung-Min].

"When you're in that league position with the squad that they have and the money that they've spent ... their home record, I think they've only had two wins all season.

"You've got the best stadium in the country. The best training ground in the country.

"They're missing [James] Maddison, [Dejan] Kulusevski, some of their best players. The [Cristian] Romero red card [away to Manchester United] - that didn't help.

"Their best player is their centre-back, [Micky] van de Ven. He'll probably go and play for a Real Madrid or Barcelona eventually.

"I think they have so many issues and I just wanted Thomas Frank to do well, because I think he's a really good manager. He speaks about his players incredibly well.

"It just didn't feel like it was a good fit for them and they weren't getting results.

"This industry's all about results and they weren't getting them."

Cristian Romero to follow Thomas Frank out of Tottenham Hotspur, Mohamed Salah ‘in talks’ to leave Liverpool - Euro Transfer News

In Wednesday's Euro Transfer News round-up, Cristian Romero will reportedly follow Thomas Frank out the door and Mohamed Salah is set for a move to Saudi Arabia. That is not all though. Southampton’s Caspar Jander is attracting interest from some of Europe’s top clubs and Endrick will apparently return to Real Madrid at the end of his loan with Lyon instead of being sold.

Romero to leave Spurs after Frank exit

Things could go from bad to worse for managerless Tottenham, with Real Madrid reportedly interested in signing their captain, Cristian Romero.

The Spurs skipper has been linked with a move away from north London for some time now, and those reports have only grown in recent weeks, with the defender criticising the club’s recruitment on social media.

Prior to being sacked as manager, Thomas Frank admitted that he had "no idea" if Romero would be at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium next season.

Now Mundo Deportivo are saying that Madrid could try to bolster their defensive options by bringing the 27-year-old to the Bernabeu.

"It is well known that Real Madrid are looking for a centre-back for next season and in recent months several names have already emerged as potential signings," read the article. "The latest to join the long list is Tottenham defender Cristian Romero.

"This all stems from rumours circulating in England that the Argentine could leave despite still being under contract with Spurs.

"Comments he made criticising his own management have put him in the spotlight, and it's said he's unhappy on the island."

Salah set for Saudi move

Mohamed Salah is open to a move to Saudi Arabian side Al-Ittihad at the end of the 2025/26 campaign, according to French outlet Foot Mercato.

The Egyptian forward has been linked with a lucrative move to the Saudi Pro League since the division emerged as a rival to Europe’s elite, and after a highly-publicised dispute with Liverpool earlier this season, he could be ready to make the switch.

Salah has struggled to replicate the world-class form that fired The Reds to the Premier League title last term, producing a below-par six goals and six assists in 25 appearances across all competitions this season.

Foot Mercato say Salah is far more interested in a move to Saudi Arabia than he was 12 months ago.

"According to our information, his agent is in talks with Al-Ittihad, and unlike last year, Mo Salah is much more open to a move to Saudi Arabia," read the article. "This could satisfy all parties.

"Liverpool would receive a transfer fee, and Salah would be the one to ultimately decide the move. It's worth remembering that Al Ittihad lost their two French stars during the winter transfer window.

"Karim Benzema, who left for Al Hilal, and N'Golo Kante, who was sold to Fenerbahce."

Saints star attracts European interest

Florian Plettenberg believes that Southampton’s Caspar Jander is attracting interest from some of Europe’s top clubs.

The 22-year-old has apparently caught the eye of Ajax, RB Leipzig and Stuttgart, with The Saints currently ninth in the Championship table - one point off a play-off place.

Jander has impressed in the second division of English football this term, scoring two goals in 27 league appearances.

Plettenberg says that Southampton have valued the midfielder at between €15 million and €25 million.

"Caspar Jander is now one to watch ahead of the summer transfer window," he posted on X, formerly Twitter.

"22 y/o midfielder is a regular starter and a key player at Southampton, and ready for the next step in the summer.

"RB Leipzig, Stuttgart and Ajax are closely monitoring the situation, while there is also interest from the Premier League.

"Current price valuation is between €15–25 million."

Endrick to return to Madrid

Lyon scout Matthieu Louis-Jean expects Real Madrid's 19-year-old prospect Endrick to return to the Spanish club at the end of the 2025/26 campaign.

Endrick struggled to hit the ground running at the Bernabeu, but he has taken to life in France like a duck to water, producing three goals and one assist in four Ligue 1 appearances.

Louis-Jean says that the club are happy to have him as part of their squad.

"For now, he's here with us until the end of the season," he told RMC Sport.

"There's no ambiguity about that. Endrick often talks about God.

"We'll see what happens next, but for the moment we're very happy to have him, in terms of stats, impact, and profile."

"His arrival was considered right after the summer transfer window.

"We gave ourselves the opportunity to go after him in January."

Roberto De Zerbi, Mauricio Pochettino, Robbie Keane: Six contenders for Tottenham Hotspur manager's job following Thomas Frank sacking

De Zerbi? Pochettino? 6 leading contenders for Spurs job - TNT Sports
Description

TNT Sports takes a closer look at six of the contenders for the Tottenham Hotspur job following Thomas Frank's sacking. The former Brentford boss is out of the job following his side's 2-1 defeat against Newcastle United in the Premier League. Roberto De Zerbi, Mauricio Pochettino and Robbie Keane are among the runners and riders for the role. Spurs are currently 16th in the Premier League table.

A career in football management can be cruel - just ask former Tottenham Hotspur boss Thomas Frank.

For years, he was the hipster darling at Brentford, impressing fans and pundits alike as he helped turn The Bees into an established Premier League club.

He was rewarded for his hard work with the Spurs job over the summer, but less than eight months on from his appointment, he has been sacked.

Frank leaves the north London club in 16th place in the Premier League after a 2-1 defeat against Newcastle United, live on TNT Sports and discovery+, on Tuesday.

The managerial merry-go-round will keep turning, though, and the bookmakers have quickly collated a list of potential candidates to take over from the Dane.

With that in mind, let’s take a closer look at the runners and riders to be the next Spurs boss.

Roberto De Zerbi

Timing is key in the beautiful game, and things could not have lined up better for the Italian.

The former Brighton & Hove Albion boss left his role as Olympique de Marseille manager a matter of hours before Spurs sacked Frank, and he immediately stood out as the favourite for the Spurs job as a result.

De Zerbi deserves to be in the running after an impressive stint with The Seagulls, who he led to the semi-finals of the FA Cup and the round of 16 of the UEFA Europa League - all while playing an exciting brand of attacking football.

However, despite an impressive start to life at the Velodrome, similar to his time on England's South Coast, things unravelled very quickly, so his appointment is far from a formality.

Mauricio Pochettino

A man who knows how to make Spurs tick, having previously taken them all the way to the UEFA Champions League final.

Pochettino is the sentimental choice after his impressive first spell in the role between May 2014 and November 2019.

However, he has struggled to replicate that success since, failing to last longer than two years during brief stays with Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea.

He is now the manager of the USA national team, meaning Spurs may have to wait until after the FIFA World Cup to get their man should they plump for the Argentinian.

De Zerbi leaves Marseille by 'mutual agreement'

Man Utd prepare for Rashford exit with Barca ready to pay up - Paper Round

Carrick 'frustrated' by Man Utd's lack of 'spark' despite snatching late point at West Ham

Robbie Keane

The club's former striker is another name that has become synonymous with Spurs, and he is now in the running for the role after a strong start to his career in management.

He made excellent progress with Ferencvaros this season, guiding them into the knockout stages of the UEFA Europa League.

The Hungarian club are also top of their domestic league, so it would not just be an appointment based on emotion and club allegiance.

Oliver Glasner

The German guided Crystal Palace to their first major trophy last season, masterminding a 1-0 win against Manchester City in the FA Cup final.

He also has a serious pedigree in Europe, having won the 2021/22 UEFA Europa League with Eintracht Frankfurt.

He is set to leave Selhurst Park at the end of the season, so he would likely only be an appointment for the summer.

However, Glasner has had a tumultuous few months in south London with a humiliating FA Cup exit, big names departing and perceived criticism of the board - so seeing out the rest of his contract is far from a certainty.

Marco Silva

The Fulham manager has quietly gone about his business at Craven Cottage, re-establishing the west London club in the Premier League.

His side are 12th in the table, and he has experience managing top teams in Portugal and Greece.

Silva's contract is set to expire at the end of the season, so, like Glasner, he could be an option in the summer.

Xavi

A Barcelona legend who has experience managing at the highest level.

Xavi guided Barca to the 2022/23 La Liga title, all while helping develop some of the biggest names the beautiful game has to offer.

Furthermore, unlike many on the list, he is not in work, meaning it would be far easier to secure his services.

Thomas Frank sacked by Tottenham Hotspur as relegation threat looms after Newcastle United loss in Premier League

Frank sacked by relegation-threatened Spurs - TNT Sports
Description

Tottenham Hotspur have sacked manager Thomas Frank after their dismal form in the Premier League continued with a 2-1 home defeat to Newcastle United on Tuesday, leaving them just two places above the relegation zone. The former Brentford boss took charge of Spurs in June last year and, despite impressing in the UEFA Champions League, they have struggled in the league.

Thomas Frank has been sacked by Tottenham Hotspur after just 26 league games in charge.

The Dane's fate was sealed after a 2-1 home defeat against Newcastle United in the Premier League on Tuesday at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The 11th loss of the season left Spurs 16th in the table, just five points above the relegation zone, having failed to win any of their last eight league games.

The north London side fell at the first hurdle in this season's FA Cup at home to Aston Villa, while they were knocked out of the Carabao Cup in the last 16 by Newcastle.

However, Frank did manage to guide Spurs into the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League after finishing fourth in the league phase.

The 52-year-old joined Spurs from Brentford last June on a three-year contract, replacing Ange Postecoglou in the dugout.

The Australian had taken Spurs to UEFA Europa League glory last season, but they also endured their worst-ever Premier League campaign, finishing 17th on 38 points.

The north London side then started strongly under Frank, taking 14 points from their opening seven league games this season, leaving them third in the table.

But they have endured a dramatic decline since, taking 15 points from their next 19 games.

Spurs have failed to win a league game since the turn of the year, drawing against Burnley and losing against West Ham United in that time.

Their home form has been particularly concerning, having picked up just 10 points from 13 league games at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this season, with only Wolves picking up fewer points on home soil.
