Fabrizio Romano reveals 'new bid' coming for Tottenham man as 'fantastic' Postecoglou signing hailed - TEAMtalk
Description

Tottenham Hotspur will soon receive an improved offer for Emerson Royal, while a new arrival at the club has been given glowing praise.

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou has decided that Emerson is surplus to requirements as he wants a new right-back who can provide competition and cover for Pedro Porro. Despite Emerson’s underwhelming spell in North London, the 25-year-old has emerged as a concrete target for Italian giants AC Milan.

Emerson recently confirmed that Tottenham and Milan are in talks over a prospective transfer which would give Postecoglou a timely boost to his summer kitty.

Emerson has already agreed personal terms with Milan and is due to pen a five-year contract, should the Rossoneri finalise his signing.

Earlier on Sunday, it emerged that Milan had started the bidding for the full-back. The exact value of their offer was not revealed, though it was pushed back by Tottenham.

Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano has now provided an update on Emerson’s situation. He states that Milan are poised to launch a ‘new bid’ for Emerson as they push to complete the deal next week.

Romano adds that Milan’s fresh proposal will be worth more than €15million (£13m), which means their first bid was below that sum.

However, it remains to be seen whether this new offer will be enough to forge an agreement. Spurs are holding out for €25m (£21m), while Milan insist that they will not go above the €20m (£17m) mark.

Tottenham transfers: AC Milan pushing for Emerson Royal

It is clear that more talks will be required over the coming days as the two clubs are currently some way apart in their respective valuations.

While Emerson is edging closer to leaving the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, teenage English starlet Archie Gray recently joined Spurs.

Gray prefers to play in central midfield but he could replace Emerson in Postecoglou’s squad by battling Porro for a starting spot at right-back.

When asked about Gray in a recent interview, former Spurs goalkeeper Paul Robinson said: “[The] full-back area is an area that Tottenham were looking to strengthen.

“He [Gray] plays at right-back, he plays in midfield, he’s the all-round footballer and that will be a great asset for Tottenham.

“He’s not one that’s for the future, he’s not one coming in and is going to sit on the bench, he’s not one that’s coming in and going on loan.

“He’s coming in and he’s going to be involved in that starting XI, the initial squad. He will be in and around that starting XI without a shadow of a doubt.

“Once he gets his opportunity, Spurs fans will see what a player he is.

“It’s a really, really good bit of business by Tottenham to get a fantastic young talent at the age that he’s at now and the ability that he’s got to play different positions.”

Tottenham transfer clears hurdle with personal terms agreed, but opening bid is unsatisfactory - TEAMtalk
Description

A transfer between Tottenham and AC Milan is there for the making after personal terms were settled, though there remains work to do regarding the fee after an opening bid was deemed unsatisfactory.

Spurs have already made their first major signing of the summer after completing a deal to sign Leeds United ace Archie Gray last week.

The highly-rated 18-year-old cost £40m, while centre-back Joe Rodon moved the other way in a £10m switch.

Tottenham have also welcomed Lucas Bergvall to the club after initially agreeing to sign the Swedish wonderkid in January. 16-year-old striker sensation George Feeney has also arrived from Glentoran.

Further additions are wanted, with Tottenham seeking new blood at centre-back, on the wings and up front. Their pursuit of Crystal Palace talisman Eberechi Eze is expected to accelerate after the Euros.

To ensure Ange Postecoglou can afford to sign the calibre of player he craves, numerous exits that will bolster the transfer kitty are being explored.

Among those Spurs are seeking to offload is right-back Emerson Royal.

EXCLUSIVE: Arsenal hold talks for electric winger signing, but Tottenham could pounce if £60m transfer collapses

Emerson Royal agrees personal terms with AC Milan

The 25-year-old has been deemed surplus to requirements and a transfer to Serie A giant AC Milan is quickly gathering pace.

Our transfer insider, Rudy Galetti, recently revealed an agreement on personal terms has been struck between Emerson and Milan, with a five-year contract ironed out.

The 10-cap Brazil international will pocket around €3m per season in Milan. That roughly equates to a weekly wage of £50,000.

But while that aspect of the deal has been sealed, there remains plenty of work to do regarding the transfer fee.

Tottenham unimpressed with Milan’s opening offer

According to a fresh update from Sky Italia, Milan have thundered in with their opening bid.

Precisely how much the offer was worth wasn’t stated, though the report strongly suggests it has either already been rejected or soon will be.

Tottenham are determined to collect €25m/£21m from Emerson’s sale. TEAMtalk has been told Milan are as yet unwilling to go higher than €20m/£17m.

As you might expect with that information in hand, Sky Italia state ‘there is still a gap between supply and demand’ after bringing news of Milan’s opening bid.

Nonetheless, there is hope a deal will eventually be thrashed out, with the report noting the next 10 days are expected to be crucial.

Furthermore, Milan are huge admirers of Emerson’s versatility given he can play at both right-back and left-back. While it wasn’t an experiment that worked out all that well, Emerson also deputised at centre-back on occasion last season.

There are no suggestions Milan will walk away from the move, and all eyes will now be on whether they submit a new and improved bid.

If they don’t, the onus will be on Tottenham to lower their demands or they’ll run the risk of the deal collapsing.

Postecoglou inching closer towards dream striker signing for Tottenham as Sky Sports man drops big update - TEAMtalk
Description

Tottenham are positioning themselves firmly at the front of the queue to sign Ivan Toney this summer after a trusted Sky Sports reporter revealed exactly how Daniel Levy can deliver the Brentford striker on a plate for Ange Postecoglou.

The north London side made rapid strides under their popular Aussie boss last season, with his all-action tactics and no-nonsense demeanour off the field winning the hearts and minds of the Tottenham faithful. Not short of confidence or belief in himself, the 58-year-old even refused to rule Spurs out of the title race off the back of their scintiliating start to the 2023/24 campaign that saw them collect eight wins and two draws from their first 10 games.

Sadly, Tottenham’s electric start to the campaign was not to last as injuries and suspensions took hold over a bleak autumn and difficult winter in N17.

And while Tottenham were the only active side in the January transfer window, they were ultimately only to only finish fifth in the Premier League, nonetheless bringing Europa League football back to the club in 2024/25.

DON’T MISS ➡️ Major Tottenham issue arises in chase to sign star Postecoglou ‘loves’ to leave Arsenal, Chelsea with open door

However, the club has strong ambitions to not just challenge the top four, but also eventually push for the title, having last become champions of England way back in 1961.

In order to take them to the next level, Spurs know they need some sizeable additions to their playing pool this summer, with sources telling TEAMtalk that Spurs hope to make three to four noteworthy signings.

Indeed, Postecoglou is being linked with another defensive addition, while a box-to-box midfielder to provide an upgrade on Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is also on his radar.

Tottenham transfers: Sky Sports man provides big Ivan Toney update

But the most transformative addition could come up front with Spurs seeking a more prolific No 9 to take over Harry Kane’s mantle.

Spurs relied on a combination of Son Heung-min and Richarlison as their main striker last season, though Postecoglou soon learned that, despite the excellent season enjoyed by his talismanic South Korean, his best work is still done off the left side of the attack.

And while Richarlison managed an improved tally of 12 goals and four assists from 31 appearances, his overall tally for the club of 15 goals in 66 games is not exactly prolific.

As a result, Spurs have been tipped to sign a number of number nines this summer who can provide a more regular source of goals.

To that end, the likes of Santiago Gimenez, Jonathan David and Dominic Solanke have all been touted for moves to the club this summer.

However, one man persistently mentioned and seemingly very much up for grabs this summer, is Brentford star Toney.

His deal at the Gteh Community Stadium is due to expire in summer 2025, leaving the Bees badly exposed to his sale.

Confirming a move is likely this summer, Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth has named the fee Spurs will likely now need to meet for his services, with two of his other suitors, Arsenal and Chelsea seemingly turning their focus elsewhere.

IN DEPTH ➡️ The 10 Tottenham players out of contract in 2025: Stick or twist as big questions answered

“It’s an interesting situation with Ivan Toney. As it stands, he is clearly not going to sign a new contract at Brentford,” Sheth told the broadcaster.

“It is thought Brentford want £60m for him. He has now entered the final year of his contract which could impact on his price the later in the window it gets.

“While Brentford will want to cash in this summer, all outcomes remain possible.

“Toney is, of course, at Euro 2024 with England and his future is likely to become clearer once the tournament is over.”

Levy will play patient game to land Spurs signing

Spurs chairman Levy, however, is well versed when it comes to transfer negotiations and it seems unlikely he will meet the Bees’ asking price for the player.

However, with his contract winding down and with suitors for his signature now at a premium, Levy will happily play a patient game to deliver the striker to Postecoglou.

Postecoglou, for his part, is said to hugely admire the frontman, feeling his record of 161 career goals – of which 36 have come from 83 Premier League games – can hugely benefit his side next season.

Toney has been with the Bees since a bargain £5m, plus £10m in bonuses, move from Peterborough in August 2020, having played and scored goals in all four divisions of the English pyramid.

Major Tottenham issue arises in chase to sign star Postecoglou 'loves' to leave Arsenal, Chelsea with open door - TEAMtalk
Description

Tottenham could be forced to admit defeat in their pursuit of Athletic Club star Nico Williams after an issue came to light, leaving the door open for Chelsea or Arsenal to swoop in for the winger.

Ange Postecoglou is a known admirer of the 21-year-old and believes he would help Tottenham in their quest to push the top four and even mount a title challenge.

Signing a player like Williams would certainly be a signal of intent from Tottenham who started the Postecoglou era strongly only to taper off as injuries and suspensions within the squad took their toll and saw them eventually finish fifth.

With Spain very much in the running for the Euro 2024 title, Williams is among several players in their side to seriously enhance their reputations, thus far, with interest in signing the Athletic Bilbao star described as being stronger than ever.

While Liverpool have already been linked with a player who would suit their style down to the ground, Arsenal and Chelsea have now been added to that list as well.

Manchester City, Manchester United, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain have also been credited with an interest over the summer months.

According to the latest reports, that chase is being led by Arsenal, amid claims they are prepared to meet his release clause and can also offer him competitive wages.

Tottenham can’t match wage expectations of Nico Williams

Tottenham have been on the trail of Williams for some time but having sent out feelers for a player Postecoglou is reported to ‘love’, though they were put off by the player’s high wage demands and could now decide to give him up to clubs with a bigger budget.

According to Tottenham expert Alasdair Gold, Bilbao already have the young star on a £170,000-per-week wage and any club coming in for Williams would need to be able to match or better that sum.

If Spurs secured Williams on the same wage it would make him the club’s joint-second highest earner tied with James Maddison and behind only Son Heung-min, who takes home £190,000-per-week.

Williams’ £49m release clause though does make a transfer tempting. And there is a belief that his value could skyrocket if he comes close to reaching his potential in the next few seasons.

Spurs have released a handful of players but that hasn’t resulted in a significant amount of wiggle room when it comes to the wage bill just yet as they have still be unable to move on Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, who has a year left on a £100,000-per-week contract.

Arsenal are showing stronger and stronger interest in signing Wolves winger Pedro Neto, though TEAMtalk has learned Tottenham could also make a move if a £60m transfer of their own falls through.

Arsenal are closing in on a move for Bologna defender Riccardo Calafiori and are keen to make further high quality additions before the summer window slams shut. Mikel Arteta’s side are desperate to go one better after finishing runners-up to Manchester City in the Premier League in each of the last two seasons.

The Gunners are still keen to add a No 9 and are also looking at wingers, with one name in particular coming under closer and closer attention from Arsenal.

TEAMtalk can reveal Wolves ace Pedro Neto is being monitored and there have been conversations with his agency over a potential move.

The 24-year-old left-footer has been on Arsenal’s list for some time, but they are not alone in their admiration of the winger and will likely face a challenge from their closest and bitterest rival.

Tottenham have also shortlisted the Portuguese international and are keeping tabs on him should they miss out on other targets.

Eberechi Eze is a key target for Ange Postecoglou, but should Spurs fail to land the £60m-rated Crystal Palace talisman, Neto will move into serious focus as his pace and creative talents are sought by the recruitment team.

Neto has had scouts from Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool observe his displays over the past two seasons and his exceptional form for Wolves has brought admiration from most of Europe’s top leagues.

Neto was of major interest to numerous clubs in January, but injury scuppered any serious chances of a winter window transfer.

HAVE YOU SEEN: Tottenham stunned as Man Utd and Man City table offers for attacker Postecoglou must not lose

Wolves want £60m for Neto, but £50m could seal deal

Wolves are not keen to part with their star man and will demand a big fee of £60 million for the winger.

This figure has already dropped since January and could reduce even further if the player pushes for a move away. The sale would also greatly help Wolves in making new signings of their own this window.

The £60 million fee is also disputed by sources close to the interested parties who believe they could land Neto for an even lower sum of £50 million.

Neto has been a guaranteed starter for Wolves when injuries have been kept at bay and has made over 130 appearances since his roughly £15 million move in the summer of 2019.

Neto bagged 11 goal contributions in just 20 Premier League appearances last term and many believe his figures would increase even further when playing alongside superior attacking talent at a top six side.

Exclusive: Triple Southampton blow as Arsenal, Tottenham, Juventus battle for exciting young stars - TEAMtalk
Description

Southampton have suffered a major blow with England youth internationals Harrison Miles, Alejandro Gomes Rodriguez and Harley Emsden-James all leaving St Mary’s amid interest from big clubs such as Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Juventus, TEAMtalk can exclusively reveal.

England U16 captain Miles has left after seeing out his contract, with Manchester City and Arsenal tussling for his services. A host of Premier League clubs are battling it out to sign the trio who have really impressed in Southampton’s academy.

Southampton, who have a proven track record in developing young talents, were keen on keeping hold of the exciting young trio, but they have been unable to reach an agreement over new contracts with them.

Miles has already turned out for England at youth level, and despite being just 15, he made several appearances for Southampton’s U21 side last term. He predominantly played for the U18s, but Miles has regularly shown the ability to perform when promoted above his age group before making the decision to leave the Saints to further his career elsewhere.

England U15 international Harley Emsden-James has followed Miles’ decision to leave Southampton, sources have confirmed to TEAMtalk.

The 14-year-old defender is thought to be attracting interest from the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham.

Fellow England U16 international Alejandro Gomes Rodriguez has also left Southampton following the expiry of his contract.

Talented forward Gomes Rodriguez at only 16 has been a regular for the U18s at Southampton and has even stepped up to be involved with the U21s.

Gomes Rodriguez has provided nine assists and netted two goals in 11 games for the U18s and scored once in his two outings for the U21s to bring him onto the radar of the likes of Brighton, Juventus and Lyon.

Southampton transfers: Starlet wanted by Juventus

Southampton are among several clubs facing a tough time in their attempts to hang on to young talents with English clubs now unable to bring in Under-18 players from abroad.

The changes brought in by Brexit also prevent English players who are not yet 18 from leaving the country to sign for a club abroad.

However, in the case of Gomes Rodriguez there is a loophole as the capped England youth international holds a Portuguese passport, which leaves the door open for him to move internationally. This could play into Juve’s hands, with sources confirming that the Italian giants are very interested in landing him.

Gomes Rodriguez arrived in England when he was ten years old, having grown up in Venezuela.

Shortly after landing in Britain, the young attacker requested a trial in Southampton. The club advised him to continue at the grassroots level, where scouts could monitor his growth. He joined local club Eastleigh Tornados and rapidly gained attention from Premier League scouts.

The forward prospect would go on to shatter Southampton Youth Football League records, scoring 334 goals in 136 games. His family then decided that he should sign with Southampton in 2022 after the club backed up their promises to keep an eye on the young player.

It seems that good will has not held sway as he now considers which club holds the brightest future for him.

Tottenham transfers: Postecoglou backed to 'release' Spurs star in brutal move - TEAMtalk
Description

Tottenham are in for a busy window as they aim to build a squad fit to challenge for trophies, but to do so they’ll have to part ways with some deadwood.

Ange Postecoglou’s first season with Spurs was a positive one but ultimately his team missed out on their aim of Champions League qualification, finishing fifth in the table.

The Aussie manager has been open about the fact that he’s planning a squad overhaul this summer.

Several stars have been heavily linked with exits and one Tottenham are willing to listen to offers for former Everton forward Richarlison, who’s struggled to climatise to life in North London.

The Brazilian international signed for Spurs for £60m in 2022 but he’s struggled to find the form he showed previously at Goodison Park. Richarlison has made a total of 66 appearances for Tottenham, scoring 15 goals in the process.

Postecoglou is keen to bring in a new striker this summer, with the likes of Feyenoord’s Santiago Gimenez and Brentford’s Ivan Toney reportedly on his radar.

The addition of a new centre-forward could see Richarlison’s playing time severely limited this season, and Tottenham have been tipped to take drastic action to get rid of him.

Tottenham told they ‘need to get rid’ of Richarlison

Former Tottenham scout Bryan King believes Postecoglou could ‘release’ Richarlison from his contract to get his ‘enormous’ wages off the books.

Richarlison currently earns a reported £90,000-per-week but his contract also includes a series of bonuses that could take his wage to £130,000-per-week.

“When you’ve been bought for an enormous amount of money, that also means you’re on enormous wages,” King told Tottenham News.

“Therefore, the only way that Spurs will be able to get rid of Richarlison is by finding a club willing to take on his wages or releasing him.”

“The settlement fee to release him from his contract would be very large. However, the club do need to get rid of him.

“They bought him for over £50million, and it hasn’t worked out. They need a new number nine.”

As previously reported by TEAMtalk, a number of clubs from Saudi Arabia are interested in Richarlison but they are yet to make a bid for the forward.

Clubs would no doubt queue up to sign Richarlison on a free transfer if he was to be released, but whether they’d be willing to match his current wages with Spurs isn’t clear.

A more likely option would be for Tottenham to accept a cut-price fee for the ex-Toffee or loan him out, if they are as desperate to axe him as King suggests.

Tottenham transfers: Man Utd and Man City table offers for attacker Postecoglou must not lose - TEAMtalk
Description

Manchester United and Manchester City have both put offers to a phenomenal Tottenham attacker they simply must not lose under any circumstance, according to a report.

Tottenham’s season crumbled in the latter stages last season, though it’s undeniable the club made forward progress under Ange Postecoglou.

Spurs secured a return to Europe by way of their fifth-placed finish. It’s important to remember Tottenham did so on the back of selling arguably their greatest ever player in Harry Kane too.

Captain Son Heung-min shouldered much of the responsibility when notching 17 Premier League goals. Richarlison blew hot and cold when bagging 11, while Dejan Kulusevski chipped in with eight. Beyond that trio, no other Tottenham player scored more than five league goals.

Spurs are on the hunt for a new striker as well as a winger this window. However the long-term answer may yet lay within.

Mikey Moore is arguably the most highly regarded prospect Spurs have produced since Harry Kane. The 16-year-old has been capped for England at Under-15, U16 and U17 levels so far.

Moore has scored 10 goals in just 12 appearances for England’s Under-17s, while his form for Tottenham’s Under-18s is even more impressive.

Moore – who generally plays up front or on the left wing – returned mesmeric figures of 22 goal contributions in 12 appearances at U18 level last term.

The teenage sensation is on a schoolboy contract that is set to morph into a professional deal on his 17th birthday. Moore will celebrate his 17th birthday later this summer on August 11.

In a sign of just how highly Moore is rated by Ange Postecoglou, the 16-year-old made two brief Premier League appearances in the final two matches of last season. In doing so, he became Tottenham’s youngest ever player to feature in the EPL.

But according to a fresh update from Football Insider, disaster could soon await Tottenham.

Man Utd, Man City table Mikey Moore offers

They state Man Utd and Man City both want to pluck Moore from Tottenham and the north west giants have put offers to the player and his representatives.

The pair have both offered Moore professional contracts which he’d be eligible to sign when turning 17 next month. Borussia Dortmund – well known for signing England’s finest young stars – have also tabled an offer.

Whether Moore intends to remain loyal to his boyhood club or will seek to continue his development elsewhere isn’t yet clear.

The report stated Tottenham are ‘pulling out all the stops’ to prevent a damaging exit, though ultimately the decision will come down to the player.

Tottenham transfer exclusive: Tough stance could force first-team star out of proposed Serie A switch - TEAMtalk
Description

TEAMtalk can reveal that Tottenham are open to selling a first-team star this summer but only if they receive an offer they deem appropriate.

There are expected to be plenty of changes to Ange Postecoglou’s squad during the current transfer window, with three new arrivals already through the door.

Versatile midfielder Archie Gray is the latest addition to the Spurs squad after Timo Werner signed on for another loan stint and Lucas Bergvall finally arrived, having been signed back in January but then loaned back to Djurgarden.

Postecoglou also wants to strengthen the spine of his team with another centre-back, central midfielder and striker, but those additions will also lead to exits.

DON’T MISS: The 10 most expensive Championship to Premier League transfers after Archie Gray joins Tottenham

Tanguy Ndombele, Ivan Perisic, Ryan Sessegnon, Eric Dier, Japhet Tanganga and Joe Rodon have already gone but there are expected to be more exits as Postecoglou shapes his squad for the new season.

One of the players who seems certain to move on is full-back Emerson Royal, with the Brazilian a known target for Serie A giants AC Milan.

Tottenham standing firm on Emerson fee

And the latest information we have got on the former Barcelona man is that a deal could be done, but only on Tottenham’s terms.

The north London club are currently demanding around €25m (£21m) for Emerson and are standing firm on that price. However, Milan would like to pay no more than €20m (£17m) and it appears that gap of more or less €5m is difficult to fill, to date.

Tottenham also have concerns about the potential deal with the San Siro outfit, considering it quite complicated as things stand.

They have repeatedly stressed they are willing to let te player go, but only at that price point.

On the player front, there is already an agreement in principle with Milan over a five-year contract, with a salary of around €3m/season.

New Milan coach Paulo Fonseca is a great admirer of Emerson and has already spoken to him and explained that he will be important in the Rossoneri’s project, convincing him to accept the proposal in the process.

However, as mentioned, the problem seems to be linked to Tottenham’s request and how much the Italian club will want to spend, given that the gap remains and – according to Spurs sources – currently seems difficult to close.

Man Utd exclusive: United could steamroll rivals, including Tottenham, in chase for explosive Championship winger - TEAMtalk
Description

Manchester United could be ready to obliterate their rivals in the chase for an outstanding Championship talent this summer after TT learned of their interest in the player.

Jaden Philogene is one of the most sought-after names this summer and has already seen a move to sign him from footballing giants Barcelona. However, that move fell apart as the Hull talent is determined to play in the Premier League and a number of clubs are keen on his services.

Things may take a surprising turn yet as Manchester United sources say he is a name that has been discussed at Old Trafford. There are no major moves to bring him to the English giants yet but he is a player on the radar of Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his team.

They would face huge competition if they were to move as sources have listed three other sides who are keeping tabs on his situation. The first being Tottenham, who are keen to add more talent and back manager Ange Postecoglou.

DIVE DEEPER: Transfer tracker: FIVE Prem clubs chasing left-backs as Man Utd eye Euro 2024 star; Liverpool get Robertson heir

They have already secured Archie Gray and are moving to sign up more young talent with Philogene joining Eberechi Eze on the club’s shortlist.

Crystal Palace also like Philogene and see him as a good replacement for the outgoing Michael Olise, who is closing in on a move to Bayern Munich. The 22-year-old is open to the move to Palace and contact has been made between the club and his agents.

Everton also in the mix for Hull standout

Everton are also looking at him and could make a move before the window closes but are cautious about spending over the odds as they are currently undergoing a takeover.

They are not under major pressure to sell any players but they must be cautious about spending to avoid PSR problems further down the line.

Hull are expecting further bids and they have accepted that they will lose their star man before the summer is over.

The Championship outfit hope to bring in a fee between £18-20 million pounds and that will allow them to strengthen their own squad ahead of another season in England’s second tier.
