Napoli ‘ready’ to sell potential fifth Tottenham signing for £26m with ‘terms agreed’ for two arrivals - TEAMtalk
Description

According to reports, Tottenham Hotspur are ‘targeting’ Napoli star Antonio Vergara as their potential fifth signing, while they have ‘agreed terms’ with two other players.

Spurs were always going to be active in this summer’s transfer market, and they have been moving quickly to acquire their leading targets.

Roberto De Zerbi‘s side have already secured their first two signings, having completed deals for Andy Robertson and Marcos Senesi on free transfers from Liverpool and AFC Bournemouth.

Spurs have formally announced Robertson’s arrival, while transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that their deal for Senesi is also finalised.

Brighton standout Jan Paul van Hecke could be their third signing after we reported that they have ‘agreed personal terms’ with the centre-back. Sources insist a third bid for the Dutchman will be imminently lodged, with Spurs having see a second bid rejected over the weekend.

Manchester City winger Savinho is also due to be through the door shortly, with journalist Nicolo Schira saying he is ‘getting closer’ to Spurs after ‘reaching an agreement’ on a five-year contract.

Now, Italian outlet CalcioNapoli24 claims Tottenham and Como are among five clubs ‘targeting’ Vergara, while Il Mattino claims Napoli are ‘ready’ to sell for around £26m after deciding he is ‘not unsellable’ this summer.

Tottenham transfers: Spurs target Liverpool star but miss out on another target after De Zerbi plea

One of Tottenham’s priorities is to strengthen in attack, and they are also linked with a bold move for Liverpool winger Cody Gakpo as part of an eight-club chase.

And while Tottenham have been successful in the transfer market so far this summer, they have missed out on one of their targets to Inter Milan.

Tottenham’s transfer activity will please De Zerbi, who said shortly following their Premier League survival that they need to “build a new team” this summer.

De Zebi told reporters: “From tonight, we have to start to organise and to build a new team.

“I think we have now to change too many players. We have 10, 11, 12 players good enough to stay. Good enough. Like players. Especially like people. And then we have to complete the squad with the first level of players.”

He added: “First level of players because we suffered too much.

“I suffered a lot but I think the fans, the club, the board, the players, they suffered too much. We are Tottenham and we can’t suffer like this until the last second of the last game to stay up. And I will be stronger. I will be stronger.”

Tottenham AGREE Jan Paul van Hecke signing after staggering third bid approved - TEAMtalk
Description

Tottenham have agreed personal terms with Jan Paul van Hecke and a staggering third bid Spurs are confident will seal the deal has been greenlit, according to reports.

Tottenham have already banked two new defenders for Roberto De Zerbi, with Andy Robertson and Marcos Senesi arriving via free agency.

Another centre-back on top of Senesi is wanted, and on Sunday, Brighton via CEO, Paul Barber, officially confirmed they’ve rejected two Tottenham bids.

The first was understood to be worth around £40m. The second was elevated to roughly £50m, and both were knocked back.

Those sums are staggering, not least because Dutch international Van Hecke only has one year remaining on his contract and thus can be signed for nothing a year from now.

Nevertheless, De Zerbi in particular is keen to immediately reunite with Van Hecke who he managed during his time with the Seagulls.

Accordingly, TEAMtalk’s transfer insider, Graeme Bailey, brought news on Monday morning of Spurs thrashing out an agreement on personal terms with the 26-year-old.

Tottenham agree Van Hecke terms / Crazy third bid approved

That is a clear signal Tottenham will bid again despite the crazy sums they’ve already put forward. And on Monday afternoon, two sources both confirmed Tottenham have indeed approved a raised third bid they’re confident will get this deal done.

Taking to X, TEAMtalk’s Fraser Fletcher and reporter Ben Jacobs both verified a third bid is coming.

Fletcher wrote: ‘Spurs set to place third bid for Jan Paul van Hecke with the Brighton defender making it clear he wants to make the move.’

Jacobs wrote: ‘Spurs intend to place a third bid for Brighton defender Jan Paul van Hecke.

‘Van Hecke only has a year left on his contract and wants to join. There remains optimism an agreement can be reached.’

Latest on Joao Palhinha and Savinho

Elsewhere, Tottenham intend to renegotiate the cost of signing Joao Palhinha outright from Bayern Munich.

The midfielder is also being courted by Sporting CP, but favours joing Spurs permanently following a successful loan spell. Tottenham want to pay less than their €30m / £26m option to buy.

The north London side are also advancing in a club-to-club talks with Manchester City for Savinho.

The Brazilian is projected to cost a fee in the £50m-£60m range and is ready to say yes to Spurs once again, just as he did last summer before City blocked the move.

Liverpool: Two issues ‘killed’ £40m deal as Tottenham star on four-man Konate replacement ‘shortlist’ - TEAMtalk
Description

Liverpool have reportedly picked out four potential replacements for Ibrahima Konate, who saw contract talks ‘killed’ for two reasons.

Last week, we reported that Konate will be one of the first signings for Real Madrid under Jose Mourinho this summer.

This deal sees Konate fall upwards after he was one of Liverpool‘s poorest performers during the 2025/26 campaign, though he has shown previously he can be a top-level defender when at his very best.

Konate’s form last season means most Liverpool supporters are not too disappointed over his exit, but he will need to be replaced this summer.

Despite the arrival of Jeremy Jacquet, the Reds are now short of centre-back options, because another likely exit will leave new head coach Andoni Iraola with only Virgil van Dijk and Giovanni Leoni as Liverpool’s other players in this department.

Now, a report from Caught Offside claims Liverpool are ‘preparing a shortlist’ of four replacements for Konate, including Tottenham Hotspur starlet Luka Vuskovic.

The Reds are said to be ‘monitoring’ the 19-year-old’s situation, while long-term target Goncalo Inacio is ‘high on the list’. The other targets named are Sam Beukema and Murillo.

Two reasons why a new deal for Ibrahima Konate was ‘killed’

Real Madrid’s interest is obviously a contributing factor to Konate leaving Liverpool, but Football Insider have reported that talks over a new deal potentially worth £40m were ‘killed’.

Unsurprisingly, this came down to the money, with Konate wanting an ‘increased’ salary while Liverpool were only willing to give him a contract on similar terms to his previous deal.

It is also noted that the ‘additional costs to the player, such as agent fees, eventually led to talks over a new deal collapsing’.

In a recent interview, Konate has admitted that the sad passings of Diogo Jota and his father made him “suffer from depression” during the 2025/26 campaign, and this goes some way to explain why there was such a sudden drop-off from the defender this season.

In an interview with France Inter radio, Konate admitted: “There are low points, there’s depression. You can suffer from depression in football too; there’s no need to be ashamed to say so.

“It’s true that I’ve often heard players say they were suffering from depression and that fans or people on the outside didn’t understand because they were earning a lot of money. But no, that’s rubbish and you shouldn’t say that.

“Depression is personal; it’s deep inside you. When you’re depressed, it starts in the heart, goes up to the brain and takes over your whole body. For me, that’s what’s hard, and we need to talk about it.”

Tottenham defensive rebuild close to completion after £50m breakthrough in Van Hecke talks - TEAMtalk
Description

Tottenham Hotspur are pushing hard to complete a deal for Jan Paul van Hecke after making significant progress in negotiations over the weekend, with TEAMtalk understanding that personal terms have now been agreed with the Brighton & Hove Albion defender.

The Netherlands international has emerged as one of Spurs’ priority defensive targets this summer as Roberto De Zerbi begins a major rebuild in north London.

Sources have told us that Tottenham have been in active discussions with Brighton since last week and, although a number of offers have been rejected, talks between the clubs remain ongoing and constructive.

Indeed, Seagulls CEO Paul Barber revealed Spurs’ interest on Sunday, revealing to talkSPORT: “Yes, we have rejected a bid from Tottenham over the last week or so. In fact, two bids.”

We understand Spurs’ latest proposal is worth around £50million including add-ons for the 26-year-old centre-back, who has just one year left on his contract.

While that still falls short of Brighton’s valuation, confidence is growing that an agreement can eventually be reached.

Van Hecke is currently preparing for the World Cup finals with the Netherlands, whose campaign begins on Sunday against Japan in Texas, but we can reveal that the player is keen to have his club future resolved before then.

DON’T MISS: Tottenham have ‘good chance’ of landing £26m star as fourth summer signing – ‘concrete option’

De Zerbi key to Van Hecke signing at Tottenham

The defender has attracted interest from both Chelsea and Liverpool in recent months, but sources close to the situation have confirmed that Van Hecke has now made Tottenham his preferred destination and a key factor in that decision has been De Zerbi.

The pair enjoyed a strong working relationship during their time together at Brighton and sources indicate Van Hecke has already held discussions with his former manager regarding the project being built at Spurs.

Following those talks, the defender’s camp have informed interested clubs that a move to north London is now his first choice.

Van Hecke and his representatives are eager to complete the transfer before the weekend, allowing him to focus fully on the Netherlands’ World Cup campaign and Tottenham are doing everything possible to make that happen.

Brighton, meanwhile, have maintained a firm stance throughout negotiations.

The Seagulls are understood to have initially valued Van Hecke at more than £70million and remain determined to maximise any potential sale.

However, despite the gap that still exists between the two clubs’ valuations, sources on both sides remain optimistic that a compromise can be found.

Tottenham defensive rebuild almost complete

Should the deal go through, Van Hecke would become the latest piece of Tottenham’s defensive overhaul.

As we have previously revealed, Marcos Senesi and Andy Robertson are both now on board as part of De Zerbi’s summer rebuild, while further changes are anticipated.

Spurs are planning to part ways with Cristian Romero and Radu Dragusin, while the club are also aware of continued interest in both Micky van de Ven and highly-rated Croatian youngster Luka Vuskovic.

That uncertainty has made the addition of another top-class centre-back a priority.

Van Hecke fits the profile Tottenham are targeting perfectly, with the Dutchman regarded internally as a defender capable of becoming a long-term leader at the heart of the back line.

With personal terms now in place and talks between the clubs continuing, Spurs are hopeful they can secure one of their most important signings of the summer before the World Cup takes centre stage.

Man Utd, Tottenham suffer brutal blow as Inter Milan trigger buy-back clause for dynamic midfielder

Man Utd, Tottenham suffer brutal blow as Inter Milan trigger buy-back clause for dynamic midfielder - TEAMtalk
Description

Inter Milan have moved to secure the future of highly-rated midfielder Aleksandar Stankovic, with TEAMtalk understanding that the Serie A giants have activated their buy-back clause and ended the hopes of Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United landing the Serbian starlet.

Sources have confirmed to usk that Inter have decided to bring Stankovic back to the San Siro after an outstanding season with Club Brugge, where he helped the Belgian side secure the league title and further enhanced his growing reputation across Europe.

The decision comes despite significant interest from the Premier League.

We exclusively revealed in February that both Tottenham and Man Utd were tracking the 20-year-old closely, with scouts from both clubs regularly monitoring his progress in Belgium.

That interest has only intensified in recent months.

We understand Spurs and United remained firmly in the picture and would have explored deals this summer had Inter not moved to secure his return. Arsenal and Chelsea have also conducted checks on the midfielder as part of their ongoing recruitment work.

However, as sources reported earlier this year, there was always a growing belief within football that Stankovic’s future would ultimately be decided by Inter. Now that has been confirmed.

Inter move leaves Man Utd, Tottenham hanging

The Nerazzurri have exercised a buy-back option worth just over £20million, bringing the Serbia Under-21 international back to the club where he first emerged through the academy ranks.

The move carries extra significance given Stankovic’s family ties to Inter.

His father, Dejan Stankovic, spent almost a decade at the San Siro and established himself as a club legend during one of the most successful periods in Inter’s modern history. Now his son is poised to follow in his footsteps.

Unlike his father, who built his reputation as an attack-minded midfielder, Aleksandar has developed into a dynamic holding midfielder capable of controlling games from deeper areas while also contributing in possession.

His performances at Club Brugge have convinced Inter that he is ready to become part of their long-term plans.

Stankovic never truly received an opportunity to establish himself in Inter’s first team before departing on loan spells, first with Swiss side Luzern and then Brugge. But sources say the club now believe the timing is right to integrate him into the senior squad.

Our sources indicate that Stankovic was genuinely tempted by the prospect of a move to England.

The interest from Tottenham and United was viewed positively by the player and his representatives, while the growing attention from across the Premier League underlined just how highly he is rated.

However, the opportunity to relaunch his Inter career ultimately proved impossible to ignore.

Tottenham complete sensational second summer signing as Alderweireld raves over De Zerbi deals

Tottenham complete sensational second summer signing as Alderweireld raves over De Zerbi deals - TEAMtalk
Description

Fabrizio Romano has confirmed Tottenham Hotspur have completed the signing of Marcos Senesi on a free transfer, with former Spurs star Toby Alderweireld hugely impressed with the business done by the club so far this summer.

Having averted complete disaster on the final day of the Premier League season, the north London club have already begun the process of adding more experience to a young squad that wasn’t equipped to deal with a relegation battle – especially with so many injured stars still left on the sidelines.

Roberto De Zerbi, whose three wins and two draws in his seven games in charge steered Tottenham to survival, is actively looking to add more leadership to his ranks, with the signing of veteran former Liverpool star Andy Robertson already sealed.

And now Romano has revealed that Senesi‘s proposed free transfer switch is also done, with the Argentina international signing a four-year contract in north London.

Spurs had a deal agreed to sign the former Bournemouth star upon his exit from the south coast club, although that was conditional on them remaining in the Premier League.

However, as the silence over the proposed deal grew louder, fears over a potential Liverpool hijack for Senesi, following their appointment of Andoni Iraola, was no doubt starting to fill Tottenham fans with dread – given what happened with Morgan Gibbs-White and Eberechi Eze last summer.

They can, though, start to look forward to next season and the likelihood of a revamped backline, after conceding 57 goals in their 38 league games this past season.

With skipper Cristian Romero wanting out and lingering doubts over Micky van de Ven’s future, there is every chance that a deal for a second centre-back could even take place this week.

Brighton & Hove Albion’s Jan Paul van Hecke remains a top target for De Zerbi, having worked closely with the Netherlands international during his tome on the south coast.

An initial bid of £40million has already been knocked back by the Seagulls, with a second offer expected imminently, as Tottenham look to strike a deal before the World Cup gets underway.

Brighton are currently pushing for nearer to £50m for a player who has just one year remaining on his contract, but there is every expectation that some common ground will be found over the deal, given Van Hecke’s desire to make the move.

There is even a school of thought that Van de Ven, who built up a strong relationship with De Zerbi in those critical matches at the end of the season, could even stay and switch to left-back or even be part of a back three in a formation switch under the Italian.

The Dutchman is a regular in the full-back position at international level, although previous doubts over hamstring issues have stopped Tottenham exploring that role in a physically gruelling English campaign.

That being said, Van Hecke is the natural replacement for Romero on the right side of the Spurs central defence, while Senesi is naturally left-sided, and using Van de Ven in the full-back position would give De Zerbi some incredible weapons to utilise come set-piece time.

Alderweireld impressed with Tottenham transfer intent

Meanwhile, former Tottenham centre-back Toby Alderweireld has hailed the arrival of Senesi and the club’s pursuit of Brighton star Van Hecke, if they can also get a deal for the Brighton star over the line.

In an interview with Football.London, the Belgian, who spent six years in north London, is impressed by the business the club has done to date.

Alderweireld said: “They [Senesi, Van Hecke] both know the Premier League. That’s good, because I think Spurs now need stability.

“They need to know the players can perform every week, week in, week out. They perform on a good level. Of course, a transfer to a new club, it’s always a bit different, but they know the Premier League and that’s very important.

“Because next season, it’s impossible that we go back to this [awful] period. So I think it’s understanding they are looking for players who are proven in the Premier League. That’s something they should do. They should have a little bit more security in that.

“I want players that the desire is there to improve. The best example is PSG. They had the biggest players. They won the French league, but never in the Champions League. They went back, sold their best players and went with people that have a fire in them.

“I can only speak from my own experience. We had people that wanted to improve – Harry Kane, Sonny, Eric Dier, Wanyama. There were players that want to improve and put the team as number one.”

He added: “So you might say ‘Spurs need to become better so we need to pay for big players’. We don’t need big players. We need players with big hearts who can improve and that’s something I really want to see. The team, the club, comes number one and that’s very important.

“I think with, for example, those two [Senesi and Van Hecke], they’re on the right direction to do the good transfers. To buy some players with a lot of potential from abroad, they need time and we don’t have the time now. We need to be there very quick to be ready and to get directly into the new season with points.

“Directly is not top three again. I understand that’s not easy, but it’s not like two points or something from [the first] five games. Then you get in the same thing as last season.”

While the Tottenham defence was often found wanting this season, the attack also laboured for much of the campaign and is another area of the pitch De Zerbi is looking to revamp.

'Good chance' of Spurs landing £26m star as fourth signing after Romano 'soon' update - TEAMtalk
Description

According to reports, Tottenham Hotspur have a “good chance” of signing Joao Palhinha permanently, with the midfielder having two “concrete options” this summer.

The north London side narrowly avoided disaster at the end of the 2025/26 campaign, having secured Premier League survival on the final day of the season.

Tottenham improved following the arrival of head coach Roberto De Zerbi, but he insisted in the hours following survival that they need to do a lot of transfer business ahead of next season.

And presumably to De Zerbi‘s delight, Tottenham are already incredibly busy in the transfer market and have secured ex-Liverpool star Andy Robertson on a free transfer as their first arrival. They have also been linked with an unexpected move for a former teammate of the left-back.

Now, it has emerged that Palhinha could be another signing for Spurs, with the Premier League giants keen on a permanent deal following his impressive loan from Bayern Munich.

According to German journalist Florian Plettenberg, Spurs are among two “concrete options” for Palhinha this summer and they have a “good chance” of winning the race to sign him.

One issue to overcome with Joao Palhinha as Fabrizio Romano reveals two more signings

Plettenberg said on X: “Joao Palhinha wants to make a decision on his future soon. The two concrete options are currently Tottenham and Sporting CP.

“Talks are ongoing. Tottenham currently have good chances. However and as revealed, Spurs want to renegotiate with FC Bayern. The option to buy was set at €25m guaranteed, with potential add-ons that could raise the fee to up to €30m. Tottenham want to pay less.”

And Palhinha could end up being Tottenham’s fourth summer signing, with Romano reporting that they are already close to signing Manchester City’s Savinho and AFC Bournemouth’s Marcos Senesi after Robertson.

Romano said on his YouTube channel: “Savinho was ready to go to Tottenham one year ago. Then if Man City tell you you have to stay, Pep Guardiola is trusting you, obviously Savinho was more than happy to stay and to continue and to sign a new contract as he did in September.

“But Savinho was attracted by Tottenham one year ago and Savinho is again attracted by Tottenham today. So on player side, I don’t see big issues. I think Savinho Tottenham on player side can get done quite soon.

“Now it’s so Manchester City and Tottenham negotiating, discussing, talking about the transfer fee. So let’s be patient. Let’s see what happens there. But Tottenham are on it. Tottenham are working on the Savinho deal.”

He added: “Tottenham today announced Andy Robertson. Soon Tottenham will announce also Marco Senesi as a new centre-back joining from Bournemouth. So Tottenham very busy to give Roberto De Zerbi what he wants.”

Fabrizio Romano has said that Savinho wants to join Tottenham Hotspur from Manchester City, with the transfer guru also revealing that the north London club will make an announcement on their second summer signing soon.

Tottenham wanted to sign Savinho from Man City in the summer of 2025, but the Cityzens blocked the exit for the Brazilian winger.

Instead, Man City handed Savinho a new contract and convinced him to stay at the Etihad Stadium for the 2025/26 campaign.

However, the 22-year-old could be on his way out of the Etihad Stadium this summer.

On May 27, TEAMtalk’s transfer insider, Graeme Bailey, reported that Man City are ready to sell Savinho in the summer of 2026.

Sources told us at the time that Tottenham are interested in the winger, who is ‘very open to the idea of a move to north London’.

Our transfer correspondent, Fraser Fletcher, subsequently reported on June 2 that Savinho is keen on working with Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi.

We understand that the winger’s representatives have let Spurs know that he is interested in a switch to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has now reported that there should not be any problem in Savinho agreeing on personal terms with Tottenham should the north London outfit be able to strike a deal with Man City.

The Italian journalist has also revealed that after the announcement of Andy Robertson as their first summer signing, Tottenham plan to officially confirm the arrival of defender Marcos Senesi.

Spurs ‘try to pry’ Slot favourite away from Liverpool as he declares ‘wish to leave’ after Iraola arrival - TEAMtalk
Description

Cody Gakpo has expressed his ‘wish to leave’ Liverpool after Arne Slot’s exit from Anfield, according to reports, with Premier League rivals Tottenham planning a bid to lure the Dutchman away from Merseyside this summer.

The Reds confirmed the appointment of Andoni Iraola as their new head coach on Thursday after sacking Slot late last month.

Liverpool ended the season trophyless and in fifth place in the Premier League, as Slot couldn’t get anywhere near the standards of the season before.

Several players who performed brilliantly the season before let Slot down in a drab campaign, and the rebuild is already well underway at Anfield.

Andy Robertson has joined Tottenham on a free transfer, while Ibrahima Konate looks set to join Real Madrid, and Mohamed Salah will leave for another club too this summer.

Gakpo has been in particularly disappointing form this season with Danny Murphy saying in March that the Liverpool winger has “fallen off the cliff” compared to the previous campaign.

Murphy told talkSPORT at the beginning of March when identifying reasons for Liverpool’s poor performances: “Gakpo has fallen off the cliff compared to his form last season, and obviously Diaz was a blow, losing him, Isak has not been fit, but creativity and firepower ain’t there.”

Gakpo ready to leave Liverpool following Slot sack – report

Our transfer insider, Graeme Bailey, revealed towards the end of March that Gakpo has genuine chances to leave Liverpool in the summer with Tottenham among numerous clubs circling.

It was TEAMtalk‘s understanding at the time that Gakpo was being actively offered to clubs across the Premier League and Europe by intermediaries.

And now Dutch outlet Soccer News have heard from their sources in England ‘that the attacker himself also wishes to leave’ after Slot was sacked by Liverpool.

The report adds: ‘The winger certainly has no reason to complain about a lack of interest. Several English sources report to SoccerNews that Tottenham Hotspur has a serious interest in Gakpo. They intend to try to pry the Dutchman away from Liverpool in the coming period. With the new project under manager Roberto De Zerbi, they hope to convince him to make the move to London.

‘Behind the scenes, Tottenham is working on a plan to convince the attacker and Liverpool in the coming period. In addition to the Spurs, several other clubs from England, Spain, and Germany are reportedly interested in the player from Eindhoven.’

It is also noted that Tottenham could be building a huge Dutch presence in north London with Spurs this week bidding for Brighton defender Jan Paul van Hecke, while Xavi Simons and Micky van der Ven are already on their books.

Tottenham line up fourth signing as Jacobs reveals second bid is imminent after ‘crazy’ opening offer - TEAMtalk
Description

Tottenham are preparing a second offer to sign Brighton centre-back Jan Paul van Hecke after they had a bid rejected on Thursday, according to Ben Jacobs.

Spurs survived relegation from the Premier League by the skin of their teeth as they beat Everton 1-0 on the final day if the season to stay up.

Roberto De Zerbi, who was hired on March 31, was a key factor in Tottenham remaining in the Premier League as he turned around their results towards the end of the campaign.

And now De Zerbi and Tottenham have a plan to avoid the same thing happening again next season with their first two signings already tied up.

Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson and Bournemouth centre-back Marco Senesi will join Tottenham when their contracts expire at their respective clubs.

Their potential third signing looks likely to be Manchester City winger Savinho with transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealing that a deal is on for Tottenham to sign the Brazilian.

Romano wrote recently on X: ‘Negotiations ongoing for Savinho to Tottenham as revealed two weeks ago… and progressing well. #THFC believe Savinho wants the move, talks continue as Man City could open doors to his exit in case of good proposal. Deal on.’

And Van Hecke could be their fourth signing of the summer after The Athletic‘s David Ornstein revealed on Thursday that Tottenham have had an opening offer for Brighton centre-back Van Hecke turned down.

Ornstein wrote on X: ‘Tottenham Hotspur submit bid to sign Jan Paul van Hecke from Brighton & Hove Albion. #THFC offer for 25yo centre-back below #BHAFC valuation so rejected, but talks continue in bid to strike agreement. Dutch int’l close to Roberto De Zerbi @TheAthleticFC.’

Brighton are ‘anticipating another offer’ from Tottenham

Our transfer expert Graeme Bailey brought the news on Wednesday that Tottenham were preparing to test Brighton’s resolve over Van Hecke and his Dutch teammate, Bart Verbruggen.

And now reliable journalist Jacobs has revealed that Brighton are ‘anticipating’ a second offer ‘soon’ from Tottenham as they look to hold on to their key player.

Jacobs wrote on X: ‘Spurs set to continue their pursuit of Brighton defender Jan Paul van Hecke. Opening bid rejected, but Brighton are anticipating another offer soon.’

Voetbal International journalist Joost Blaauwhof brought news on Thursday that Brighton could hold out for more because of NAC Breda’s 7.5 per cent sell-on clause.
