Tottenham transfer news: Summer plan for Inter star Bastoni revealed

Tottenham Hotspur have set their sights on a summer move for an Inter Milan defender that Arsenal star Riccardo Calafiori thinks is the best in Italy, with the report claiming why Spurs are so keen on signing him and naming two other centre-backs they are interested in.

TEAMtalk transfer expert Fraser Fletcher reported this week that Tottenham will be very busy in the January transfer window. While Spurs are keen on signing a new striker, they are also looking to add a new centre-back to their squad, with club chairman Daniel Levy keen on giving head coach Ange Postecoglou the best possible tools to succeed and get the team into the top four.

According to Fichajes, Tottenham have now set their sights on Inter Milan defender Alessandro Bastoni. While Spurs do not plan a bid in the January transfer window, they are keen on bringing him to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the summer of 2025.

Spurs have tried to sign Bastoni before, but the North London club could never get a deal done. Tottenham’s former Sporting Director, Fabio Paratici, has long wanted to bring him to the club but without any success.

With Bastoni having a long-term contract with Inter, the Italian giants are in a strong position when it comes to negotiations with Spurs.

Tottenham need to sign a centre-back urgently and they are aware that “competing with financially stronger clubs” for a player of Bastoni’s quality and calibre will be a “significant challenge”, states the report.

Bastoni is one of the best centre-backs in the world who has won Serie A twice with Inter and reached the final of the Champions League with the Nerazzurri in 2022-23. The defender also helped Italy win the European Championship in 2020.

Arsenal defender Riccardo Calafiori plays with Bastoni for the Italy national team, and earlier this month, he described the Inter star as the best Italian defender at the moment.

Calafiori told CalcioMercato: “I like Bastoni’s mentality, he plays in a very similar way to mine: he plays very well with the ball, even better than me.”

Tottenham want Jarrad Branthwaite and Abdukodir Khusanov

According to Fichajes, one of the reasons why Tottenham are keen on a deal for Bastoni because of their failure to lure Jarrad Branthwaite or Abdukodir Khusanov.

Spurs are interested in Everton centre-back Branthwaite as well as Lens central defender Khusanov, but Spurs have failed to get either of them.

Khusanov is widely expected to move to defending Premier League champions Manchester City. There is an agreement in place over a £33.5m deal.

TEAMtalk understands that Everton will not sell Branthwaite in January. The Toffees have just appointed David Moyes as their new manager, and with the team just a point above the relegation zone, they will not want to lose one of their best and most important players and damage their chances of survival in the Premier League.

Latest Tottenham news: Ansu Fati offer, Pedro Porro relief

Following Tottenham’s defeat to Arsenal in the North London derby on Wednesday which has severely hampered their chances of finishing in the Premier League top four, Spurs have made a bid for Barcelona forward Ansu Fati.

The Spanish media has reported that Tottenham have made an offer for Fati despite his struggles at Brighton and Hove Albion last season. The 22-year-old Spain international was on loan at the Seagulls from Barcelona.

Tottenham, though, will face competition for Fati. West Ham United are also keen on a deal and have made an offer, while Turkish giants Besiktas are showing interest in him as well.

Another forward has been offered to Tottenham. Jonathan David is out of contract at Lille at the end of the season, and there is speculation that his agents have offered him to Spurs.

With Randal Kolo Muani deciding not to join Tottenham, the North London club’s hunt for a new forward is still on.

David is one of the most lethal strikers in Europe, and it will be interesting to see if Tottenham take the option to sign the Canada international now for a fee or wait until the summer of 2025 to snap him up on a free transfer.

Meanwhile, Spurs do not have to worry about losing Pedro Porro to Real Madrid in the January transfer window.

Madrid are looking for a new right-back this month. With Dani Carvajal injured and Lucas Vazquez not doing particularly well in that role given that he is a winger by trade, Porro has emerged as a potential target for Los Blancos.

However, a report in Spain has claimed that Madrid are aware that Tottenham will demand a lot for Porro. With Los Blancos determined to sign Trent Alexander-Arnold as a free agent when his current contract at Liverpool runs out at the end of the season, they have decided to go for loan options in January. Chelsea right-back Reece James is now on their radar.

Tottenham transfer news: Offer made for Barcelona forward Fati amid West Ham interest

Description

Tottenham Hotspur have made an offer to bring a Barcelona forward back to the Premier League, with a report claiming that the decision was taken after the defeat to Arsenal while adding that another London side have also launched a bid.

Spurs suffered a huge blow in their pursuit of a top-four finish in the Premier League table as they suffered a 2-1 defeat to Arsenal on Wednesday. Despite taking the lead in the North London derby, Tottenham failed to pick up a single point at the Emirates Stadium.

With Tottenham now closer to the bottom three than the top four, club chairman Daniel Levy has decided to go all in to help head coach Ange Postecoglou get a Champions League place. TEAMtalk understands that after suffering a blow in their quest to sign Randal Kolo Muani, the North London club are now trying to sign Evann Guessand from Nice, while Lille striker Jonathan David has also been offered to them.

Sport is now reporting that Tottenham have launched a bid for Barcelona forward Ansu Fati. Spurs are claimed to have made an offer for the 22-year-old, who had a loan spell at Brighton and Hove Albion last season.

Although the Spain international did not have the best of times at Brighton, the report claims Tottenham believe that Fati would be a good signing for them in January and have now made a bid.

Tottenham are not the only London club who are keen on a deal for Fati, though. Sport has reported that West Ham United are interested in the 22-year-old as well.

The Hammers have a new manager in charge now. Graham Potter wants to sign a forward, with Michail Antonio sidelined for the long term and Niclas Fullkrug having injury problems for a large chunk of the campaign.

West Ham have scored just 21 goals in 27 Premier League matches this season. Wolverhampton Wanderers, who are third from bottom in the table, have scored more goals than the Hammers.

Besiktas also want Ansu Fati

Besiktas have been linked with Fati as well. While the Turkish giants would be delighted to have a player of his profile in their team, the Barcelona forward himself does not find the prospect of a move to the Tupras Stadyumu appealing, according to Sport.

Tottenham and West Ham are the two clubs who appear to have a better chance of signing Fati in the January transfer window. Having been in the Premier League with Brighton, Fati could be tempted to try his luck in English football again.

There was speculation earlier this season that Barcelona had made it clear to Fati’s agents that he could leave, and this latest report in the Spanish media indicates that his days at the LaLiga giants are indeed numbered.

Fati has been a peripheral figure in Hansi Flick’s squad this season. He has made only eight appearances. The forward has not scored or provided an assist in those games.

Latest Tottenham news: Cherki offered, Garnacho bid

With Tottenham looking to sign a new forward in the January transfer window, they have been offered the chance to sign Rayan Cherki.

Cherki is one of the best young attackers in Europe and has been blessed with the ability to play as an attacking midfielder or winger.

With Lyon going through financial problems, the 21-year-old has reportedly been offered to Tottenham by his agents. It remains to be seen what Spurs do.

Bryan Mbeumo is also on the radar of Tottenham. The forward has been in superb form for Brentford this season and has attracted the interest of a number of other clubs in the Premier League, including Arsenal and Manchester United.

Brentford, though, may not be keen on selling Mbeumo in the middle of the season, but the Bees could cash in on him in the summer of 2025. Mbeumo has scored 13 goals and given four assists in 25 matches in all competitions this campaign.

Tottenham are also keen on Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho. The North London club are reportedly ready to make a bid for £60m for the Argentina international winger.

Garnacho is one of the brightest young prospects in the Premier League, but he has not been getting regular starts under head coach Ruben Amorim. The 20-year-old winger has found the back of the net eight times and has provided five assists in 30 matches in all competitions so far this season.

Tottenham Hotspur have been offered the chance to sign one of the best and most lethal strikers in Europe, with club chairman Daniel Levy now having the chance to redeem himself and strike a blow to Manchester United’s transfer hopes, with a report naming a talented French youngster who could also move to Spurs.

With Tottenham not having a particularly great season, they are looking for reinforcements in the January transfer window. TEAMtalk transfer expert Fraser Fletcher has reported that a new striker is on the agenda, with Levy determined to give head coach Ange Postecoglou the best possible chance of finishing in the Premier League top four this season, which took a further blow on Wednesday evening when they lost to Arsenal in the North London derby.

Levy was personally keen to bring Randal Kolo Muani to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and it came as a blow for the Tottenham chairman when the forward decided to join Juventus on loan from Paris Saint-Germain.

TEAMtalk understands that Spurs have other targets, and one of them is Ivory Coast international striker Evann Guessand, who has scored eight goals and given four assists in 17 Ligue 1 matches and has found the back of the net once in the Europa League for Nice so far this season.

GiveMeSport has also now reported Tottenham’s interest in Guessand, adding that the agents of the 23-year-old have offered the striker to Spurs.

The report has claimed that Lille striker Jonathan David has also been offered to Tottenham by his agents. The 25-year-old is one of the most lethal forwards on the planet and is out of contract at the French club at the end of the season.

The Canada international striker has scored 17 goals and given six assists in 29 matches in all competitions for Lille this season.

During the 2023-24 campaign, David scored 26 goals and provided nine assists in 47 appearances.

David being offered to Tottenham will come as a blow for Man Utd, who have also been linked with the striker.

Head coach Ruben Amorim wants to bring in a new frontman, and there have been reports in the Italian media that Man Utd are seriously considering a bid for David.

Rayan Cherki also offered to Tottenham

According to GiveMesport, Tottenham have also been given the chance to sign Rayan Cherki. Agents of the Lyon youngster have offered him to Spurs.

Cherki is one of the best young players in Ligue 1 who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a winger.

The 21-year-old has scored five goals and given eight assists in 21 matches in all competitions this season. During the 2023-24 campaign, he found the back of the net three times and provided nine assists in 39 appearances.

Spurs, though, are not the only Premier League club who have been linked with Cherki. TEAMtalk reported in November that Liverpool are keen on the Lyon star as well.

Fulham wanted to sign Cherki last summer, but a move did not materialise. And now Spurs have got the chance to secure the services of the Lyon ace.

Latest Tottenham news: Mbeumo interest, Garnacho bid

Tottenham are on the hunt for a new attacking player, and one of the names that have now popped up on their radar is Bryan Mbeumo.

Mbeumo is a very lethal forward who is starring for Brentford in the Premier League, and Spurs are showing interest in signing him from their London rivals.

However, Tottenham are not going to find it easy to get a deal done for Mbeumo. Arsenal and Manchester United are also interested in the 25-year-old.

Moreover, Brentford may not be inclined to sell Mbeumo in the middle of the season.

Tottenham are also eyeing a move for Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho in the January transfer window.

There is speculation that United could let Garnacho leave, and Spurs have already made a move for the Argentina international winger.

The North London club could make a bid of £60m for Garnacho this month. He has scored eight goals and given five assists in 30 matches in all competitions for the Red Devils this season.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid are eyeing a move for Archie Gray. Reports in Spanish have claimed that the defending Spanish and European champions are ready to test Tottenham’s resolve to keep the youngster with a £42m bid.

Spurs signed Gray from Leeds United only last summer. He starred at right-back for the West Yorkshire club in the Championship last season despite being a midfielder by trade and has been playing as a centre-back for Spurs lately.

TEAMtalk understands that Tottenham will not sell Gray in the January transfer window, especially not for £42m, having paid £40m for him in the summer of 2024.

Tottenham transfer news: Talks ongoing with SIX targets as Levy activates Kolo Muani Plan B

Description

Tottenham are still hopeful of being one of the most active clubs in Europe this transfer window with sources revealing they remain in talks over multiple deals and with Daniel Levy very much keen to give Ange Postecoglou a squad capable of pushing for the top-four finish in the Premier League.

The north London side have endured an indifferent and inconsistent campaign so far, perhaps best exemplified by their last two games which saw them overcome Liverpool in the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg before days later being held to a goalless draw, before triumphing in extra time, against non-league Tamworth in the FA Cup third round.

In an effort to iron out those inconsistencies, Tottenham chairman Levy still hopes to bring in several new signings this month – and talks have been ongoing over deals with multiple targets. We understand Spurs are very keen on a striker and a central defender as a priority, though are also exploring a number of other opportunities elsewhere.

Sources have also confirmed that the club have spoken to six different players in the last two weeks trying to find the best deals and work out who they can get. One of the biggest challenges facing Spurs is beating the competition to players with several top clubs all shopping in the same pool.

A central defender, though, is seen as key and one area that Postecoglou is desperate to bolster having seen injuries to Micky van de Ven and Christian Romero proving his point and forcing him to play teenage midfielder Archie Gray as an emergency centre-half. The manager has eyes for Bournemouth man Ilya Zabarnyi, but he is one of multiple options according to those close to the club.

Spurs are also keen to bolster their attacking options though and recently lost out on Randal Kolo Muani after he decided to move to Juventus and play the rest of the campaign in Serie A.

Sources had previously revealed that the France international was a key target for Levy and Spurs pushed hard to get a deal done, only to be ultimately left disappointed.

One such player they are looking at is Nice’s Ivory Coast international attacker Evann Guessand.

Spurs backing Postecoglou – but cautious over transfer pitfalls

As a result, they continue to look for a variety of options, be it an out-and-out striker or an attacker equally adept at playing off the wing. To that end, the club have been speaking with the agents of multiple players this month who could make a difference. However, there remains an overall understanding that the likelihood of getting priced out remains strong as the window nears its conclusion.

Levy has stated clearly that he will back Postecoglou but that does not mean he will do anything stupid and spend way over the odds to land targets.

But it is our understanding that the bank balance will be dipped into as the club aim to bring in multiple new faces and have a successful campaign.

Postecoglou has come under some pressure this season over Tottenham’s apparent struggles and failure to build on a promising first season. However, despite the noises coming out in the media every time Spurs suffer a bad result, there is some sympathy on the board given the situation the Aussie finds himself in in terms of the number of injuries they are having to contend with.

That said, we understand that Spurs – like any well-run club – does have a contingency plan in place should they decide to remove the Aussie from his duties.

To that end, they will review his position at the season’s end and amid our understanding that a potential successor has already been identified.

Latest Tottenham news: Kinksy tipped for Real Madrid; Archie Gray link

Spurs’ only new addition so far this month is Czech goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky, signed in a £12.5m deal from Slavia Prague. The 21-year-old is contracted to 2031 and has already made quite the impression, keeping successive clean sheets in the Spurs goal.

However, his time at N17 is already being touted as a stepping stone for bigger and better things amid claims the Spurs keeper is already learning Spanish ahead of a future move to Real Madrid.

He’s not the only Spurs youngster linked with the Spanish giants either, with bold claims earlier this week claiming Carlo Ancelotti’s side are also casting admiring glances towards teenage star Gray and amid claims they are willing to offer Spurs an instant ‘profit’ on their original investment from Leeds.

And finally, Postecoglou has confirmed that Tottenham are ready to let another top young talent leave on loan before the January transfer window shut, despite the club still being in the midst of an injury crisis.

Will Lankshear is the player in question, with Postecoglou, indicating that the young striker is in need of more game time.

Postecoglou sack? Elite manager shortlisted by Tottenham as Levy stance on axing clarified

Description

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou has faced criticism this season and although he retains the full backing of the board, they are looking at managerial targets as part of normal succession planning.

Spurs fans have endured a turbulent season so far, with the London club sitting in a disappointing 13th place in the Premier League table and at risk of missing out on European football next term.

Tottenham beat Liverpool 1-0 in the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg and success in that competition would reflect well on Postecoglou, while they’re still in with a chance of lifting the Europa League title.

However, the good performance against Liverpool wasn’t built upon when Tottenham faced non-league Tamworth in the FA Cup, which Spurs eventually won after extra-time but was an embarrassing performance.

Like any well-run club, Spurs do have plans in place for all situations, both with their first-team squad of players and their manager, in the event that any need replacing. Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has no plans to axe Postecoglou at this point but his position could be reviewed in the summer.

TEAMtalk sources state that former Borussia Dortmund manager Edin Terzic is ‘appreciated’ by Tottenham and he is someone they could sound out should the second half of this season go badly for Postecoglou.

The 42-year-old coach left Dortmund last summer after guiding them to the Champions League final in 2023/24, and now he’s ready for a new challenge.

TRANSFER NEWS LIVE: Marcus Rashford to make AC Milan decision; Man City continue Marmoush talks

Edin Terzic is open to a Premier League move

Dortmund fans loved Terzic during his time with the Bundesliga giants. The club were hopeful that he would stay for many years but decided to leave after failing to agree on a contract extension.

Terzic has been replaced by Nuri Sahin, who is under pressure after Dortmund have endured a poor first-half of the season, dropping to ninth in the table.

Terzic’s positive impact on Dortmund cannot be understated and as mentioned, the 42-year-old would very much be on Tottenham’s radar should they choose to part ways with Postecoglou.

TRANSFER GOSSIP: Tottenham switch to £20m Plan B excelling in France after demoralising Kolo Muani snub

TEAMtalk understands that Terzic would be very interested in joining a Premier League club for his next job. He was sounded out by West Ham during their recent manager hunt, before they opted to appoint Graham Potter.

Everton were also linked with Terzic before choosing to re-appoint David Moyes but the coach never held any concrete talks with the Toffees, despite rumours.

Sources close to Tottenham say that Postecoglou is in no danger for now and they are keen to back him with several new additions this month, with the club in talks with six transfer targets. More to follow on that this afternoon.

Tottenham transfers: Spurs switch to £20m Plan B excelling in France after demoralising Randal Kolo Muani snub

Description

Tottenham have reportedly switched their focus to the addition of another forward from France after being snubbed in their efforts to land Randal Kolo Muani on loan from PSG.

Fabrizio Romano has given his trademark ‘Here We Go’ to Kolo Muani joining Juventus on a temporary basis, although there is no clause in place to make the deal permanent. The France international has accepted the proposal and will fly to Turin this week for medical tests.

The news will come as a bitter blow to Tottenham, as TT have previously reported how hard they have been working behind the scenes to try and land the talented 26-year-old, who has lost his way a little in Paris this season.

However, it appears that a Plan B may have been in place all along, with the Daily Mail revealing the club’s interest in Ivory Coast international attacker Evann Guessand.

The Nice forward, who would cost in the region of £20million (€23m / $24m), has also been on the radar of West Ham and Bournemouth and is currently under contract until 2028.

Guessand is enjoying an impressive 2024/25 campaign for Nice, scoring eight goals and adding four assists in 17 Ligue 1 appearances so far this season.

Indeed, the 23-year-old’s sparkling form this term has led to French publication L’Equipe recently putting the forward in their Team of the Season so far.

It’s reported that West Ham scouted Guessand across November and December, although their search for a new striker has now intensified after Niclas Fullkrug, Michail Antonio and Jarrod Bowen all suffered serious injuries of late.

However, Tottenham can offer European football to the Nice man, who made his senior Ivory Coast debut in a World Cup qualifying clash with Kenya last June.

Guessand ticks number of boxes for Tottenham

The Nice man is arguably more versatile than Kolo Muani when it comes to the attacking third, having featured as a winger and a central striker throughout his career.

Indeed, during an interview with his club, Guessand revealed: “I was trained as a winger, and even when I went to the national team, I played as a winger. Then I grew physically, getting taller, so they put me in the centre.

“At Nantes, I played three-quarters of the season on the right flank, so yes, I’m less of a nine (centre-forward) than some. I can play in all attacking positions.

“Away to Lorient I played up front, against Lille on the flank. I like to play in all attacking positions.”

Tottenham have a need for another wide player after Timo Werner became the latest player to suffer a hamstring injury, joining the likes of Micky van de Ven and Destiny Udogie on the sidelines with the same issue.

Wilson Odobert is also no closer to a return to action, although Mikey Moore is at least back in contention after starting the FA Cup win at Tamworth last weekend.

Guessand’s ability to play centrally will also be helpful given Richarlison’s struggles to stay fit for a consistent number of games this season, although the Brazilian could be back on the bench against Arsenal on Wednesday night.

Latest Tottenham news: Kinsky already being tipped for massive move / Lankshear exit

One of Tottenham Hotspur’s brightest young players has been backed to make the big move to Real Madrid, with a Chelsea legend also sharing his views on the 21-year-old.

Spurs secured the services of Antonin Kinsky from Slavia Prague in a £12.5m deal early in the window as they looked for more goalkeeper cover with Guglielmo Vicario injured and Fraser Forster struggling for form.

Kinsky signed a contract until 2031 and has already made his debut for Tottenham, impressing in the 1-0 Carabao Cup semi-final, first-leg win over Liverpool before keeping another cleansheet in the FA Cup triumph at Tamwoth over the weekend.

And, while Spurs fans are just getting to know Kinsky, Viktor Budinsky is fully aware of how good he is.

Budinsky competed with Kinsky for a place in the Czech side FK Pardubice’s starting line-up during the latter’s loan spell last season, and he has raved about the new Spurs goalkeeper and has tipped him to join Madrid.

Meanwhile, Ange Postecoglou has confirmed that Tottenham are ready to let another top young talent leave on loan before the January transfer window shut, despite the club still being in the midst of an injury crisis.

Will Lankshear is the player in question, with Postecoglou indicating that the young striker is in need of more game time.

Tottenham news: Antonin Kinsky tipped for Real Madrid transfer

Description

One of Tottenham Hotspur’s brightest young players has been backed to make the big move to Real Madrid, with a Chelsea legend also sharing his views on the 21-year-old.

With the January transfer window in full swing, Tottenham have already made a major signing. The North London club have secured the services of Antonin Kinsky from Slavia Prague in a £12.5m. deal. With Guglielmo Vicario injured and Fraser Forster not having a brilliant time between the posts, Spurs decided to get Kinsky.

Kinsky has signed a contract until 2031 and has already made his debut for Tottenham. The 21-year-old goalkeeper played against Liverpool at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Carabao Cup last week and turned out against Tamworth in the FA Cup this past weekend.

The youngster did well against Liverpool and made two stunning stops to deny Darwin Nunez. While Spurs fans are just getting to know Kinsky, Viktor Budinsky is fully aware of how good he is.

Budinsky competed with Kinsky for a place in the Czech side FK Pardubice’s starting lineup during the latter’s loan spell last season, and he has raved about the new Spurs goalkeeper and has tipped him to join Madrid.

While speaking to MF DNES, Budinsky said, as relayed by SportWitness: “Great boy. Already at the first training session it was clear that he was different. Strong in the head, healthy confident and purposeful. He can be even higher in three years.

When asked where he sees Kinsky in the near future, Budinsky said: “At Real Madrid. Plus, he is learning Spanish, he’ll be ready, he won’t get lost there.

“When Tonda [Kinský] came to us in Pardubice from Vyškov [was on loan], who were playing in the second league, many would not have said that he would be in the Premier League within two years. And yet. I think Tottenham is an intermediate step for him, that an even bigger club is waiting for him.”

What Petr Cech thinks of new Spurs goalkeeper Kinsky

Budinsky is not the only one to have noticed Kinsky’s qualities. Chelsea legend Petr Cech was impressed with the youngster as well and scouted him while he was the technical and performance advisor at the Blues.

Cech, who also played for Arsenal, is one of the greatest goalkeepers of all time, and the former Czech Republic international has backed his compatriot to do well in England.

The 42-year-old told Flashscore: “I am very happy that he got the opportunity. The Premier League is the best league in the world and he can build on the tradition that the Czech goalkeeping school has there. It’s good for the whole of Czech football.

“Tottenham is a traditional club that regularly fights for the Champions League. I believe that he will do well and that the club will suit him. The role in the team should suit him because the coach wants the goalkeepers to play with their feet, which is his great asset.”

Cech added that he spoke to Kinsky about his transfer to Tottenham and gave him his full backing.

The Premier League icon noted: “We spoke about the transfer and I told him my opinion. But I don’t think he needed it. He is very lucky to have a great family background.

“He and his dad, Antonin Sr., have a great relationship and it’s one of the things that has made him move so fast in his career,” added Cech, who met Kinsky Sr. while playing for the national team at EURO 2004.”

Latest Tottenham Hotspur news: Kolo Muani bid, Dorgu interest

With the January transfer window in full swing, Tottenham have been linked with a number of clubs, including Randal Kolo Muani.

Paris Saint-Germain are willing to offload Kolo Muani this month, with head coach Luis Enrique not using him much this season.

Serie A giants Juventus are keen on a deal, with a report in the Italian media stating this week that the forward himself is ready to make the move to Turin.

However, reports in France are now saying that Tottenham have ramped up their interest in Kolo Muani. The Premier League club have made a loan bid, with club chairman Daniel Levy getting involved.

Manchester United are also showing interest in the PSG forward, and it remains to be seen if the Red Devils make a bid of their own now that Spurs are actively trying to do a deal.

Another player that Tottenham are keeping tabs on is Patrick Dorgu. Spurs are competing with the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool for the Lecce and Denmark international left-back.

Dorgu, who can also operate as a wing-back, is just 20, but that has not stopped Lecce from putting a hefty price tag on him.

If Spurs want to do a deal for the youngster in the January transfer window, then they will have to cough up £42m.

In terms of outgoings, Archie Gray has been linked with a move to Real Madrid in the January transfer window.

Gray is one of the most promising young players in the Premier League, and his ability to play as a centre-back despite not being a natural in that role has impressed Madrid.

Los Blancos are willing to pay £42m for Gray in the January transfer window, but TEAMtalk understands that Tottenham will not sell at that price.

Spurs paid Leeds United £40m for Gray only last summer. The youngster started his career as a midfielder, but he starred at right-back for Leeds in the Championship last season.

Randal Kolo Muani: Clear winner emerges as Tottenham, Man Utd update delivered by Romano

Description

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that PSG are on the verge of closing a verbal agreement for Randal Kolo Muani to head out on loan as both Tottenham and Manchester United are primed for disappointment.

The France international has emerged as a major target for the Premier League duo ever since the January transfer window opened, with both clubs working hard behind the scenes to try and strike a deal for the forward.

Reports from France on Tuesday revealed that Tottenham had made a loan offer for the player with a view to making the deal permanent, despite their slight reluctance regarding the latter part of that transfer.

As for Man Utd, while they have maintained an interest in the player their focus has been on securing an exit for Marcus Rashford – virtually leaving the way clear for Spurs and rival suitors Juventus to battle it out for the player.

However, Romano’s latest update has revealed that the Turin giants are set to sign Kolo Muani on a temporary deal and that the player himself will make his decision “in the next hours”.

Romano adds that Juventus are “pushing to seal the deal as soon as possible”, with La Gazzetta dello Sport clarifying that the Serie A side appear to have won the race ahead of their Premier League rivals.

PSG have already agreed a deal to sign Kolo Muani’s update as they close in on Napoli attacker Khvicha Kvaratskhelia on a permanent transfer for a fee in excess of €70m.

Kolo Muani became a firm candidate for the Bianconeri after PSG agreed to let him leave in the January transfer window.

The Ligue 1 giants remain keen on selling Kolo Muani permanently according, but are more than happy to send him out on loan to Juventus to gain consistent playing time and hopefully increase his overall value ahead of the summer.

Tottenham hard work comes to nothing

Kolo Muani’s expected switch to Italy will come as a hammer blow to Tottenham who, as we have said, have been working hard on trying to secure the player in the January window.

Ange Postecoglou wanted the France international to compete with Dominic Solanke for a starting role, while the 26-year-old’s ability to play out wide was also an attractive proposition for the Spurs chief.

Whether or not Postecoglou now chooses to look elsewhere for another addition to his squad remains to be seen, although he has been boosted by Richarlison’s return to fitness.

The Brazilian is expected to return to the bench for the north London derby against Arsenal on Wednesday night, while Postecoglou has also confirmed that Richarlison’s return is likely to mean Will Lankshear heads out on loan.

Spurs have suffered another injury blow on the eve of the Gunners clash though, with Timo Werner now sidelined with a hamstring injury – the latest in a long line of muscle injuries for Tottenham players since the start of last season.

Tottenham news: Postecoglou confirms another shock loan exit as help arrives for injury

Ange Postecoglou has confirmed that Tottenham are ready to let another top young talent leave on loan before the January transfer window shut, despite the club still being in the midst of an injury crisis.

The games keep coming thick and fast for Spurs but players are continuing to go down, with Germany winger Timo Werner the latest to be sidelined.

Postecoglou confirmed that the attacker will miss Wednesday night’s clash with north London rivals Arsenal with a hamstring injury, although Tottenham do not know the full extent of the problem at this stage.

Despite Werner’s injury, the Spurs chief admits that the plan is still to allow highly-rated young No.9 Will Lankshear to make a temporary switch for more game time as Richarlison returns to the bench.

The 19-year-old made his senior debut for the club in their Europa League win over Ferencvaros in October and scored his first goal for Tottenham during the dramatic defeat at Galatasaray just a month later.

Lankshear was then sent off in the Turkish capital after receiving two bookings and he has played just nine minutes in all competitions since, despite an injury to back-up striker Richarlison in that time.

Postecoglou also left Lankshear on the bench in Sunday’s FA Cup win over non-League Tamworth, with Werner initially deputising for first-choice centre-forward Dominic Solanke.

Indeed, it was a major surprise that the teenager was not handed a start through the middle ahead of Werner for that game, although Postecoglou’s comments pre the Arsenal contest have now made things clearer.

Lankshear leaving for game time

Asked about potential outgoings this month, Postecoglou confirmed Lankshear could follow defender Alfie Dorrington – who joined Aberdeen on loan – through the exit door.

“We can’t afford to let anyone go at the moment,” he said.

“Alfie Dorrington has gone out on loan and it will probably be similar for young Will [Lankshear] as well, because he hasn’t played a lot.”

Richarlison’s return will almost certainly have played a part in the decision, although the Brazilian’s record when coming back from a spell out had not been good in north London. To that end, letting Lankshear leave is considered a gamble.

There is also the possibility of Tottenham adding another forward to their squad before the window shuts though, with the latest reports suggesting that the club have taken a big step forward in their bid to sign PSG’s Randal Kolo Muani.

Tottenham news: Eighth Spurs star ruled out of Arsenal showdown but some fans will likely rejoice

Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has been handed another injury blow ahead of the crucial Premier League clash with north London rivals Arsenal on Wednesday evening, although not all fans will agree with that description.

Spurs are already without Guglielmo Vicario, Micky van de Ven, Cristian Romero, Ben Davies, Destiny Udogie, Rodrigo Bentancur and Wilson Odobert for the game against the Gunners and now another attacking star will be missing at The Emirates.

Speaking at his press conference before the game, Tottenham boss Postecoglou revealed that Timo Werner, who featured in both of the cup wins against Liverpool and Tamworth, picked up a hamstring injury in the FA Cup tie and will join that illustrious list of names already on the sidelines.

“The only one who picked up an injury was Timo,” Postecoglou revealed on Tuesday. “He picked up a hamstring injury. We’re just waiting on the results for that scan.”

Although the extent Werner’s injury are not yet known, it’s likely that the winger will miss several matches in the coming weeks or months.

While the news is a blow in terms of the squad depth being weakened again, Werner has been largely anonymous for much of the season anyway and was hammered for his display playing as a central striker at Tamworth.

Commenting on X, a number of fans lambasted Werner’s performance as his hopes of turning his loan move into a permanent switch over the summer nosedived massively.

@mionomedev wrote: “Werner looking like the worst player on the pitch against non-league opposition is impressive even for his standards.”

@Zeus1882x added: “If Werner played for them I don’t think he’d be their best player.”

@Dave_THFC1882 commented: “12 non-league players on that pitch. Tamworth and Werner,” and @fullback03 added: “Werner wouldn’t get in this Tamworth side.”

Richarlison returns for north London derby

However, Postecoglou also confirmed that Brazilian striker Richarlison will be available to feature for the first time since sustaining a hamstring injury in the match against Aston Villa in November.

Confirming the news, the Spurs boss added: “In terms of incomings, Richy is available. We’ve taken our time with him for sure. He’s been harassing me for the last 10 days to be involved. He’s looked really good in training.”

Meanwhile, Postecoglou also reflected on the events at Tamworth as Spurs managed to avoid the mother of all giantkillings, but only just as they won in extra-time.

Footage has emerged of Tottenham players being abused by a minority of home fans as they walked into the ground on Sunday, the sort of language that Postecoglou described as “vile and detestable”.

While the majority of fans enjoyed the game in the right spirit, Postecoglou says there was an “unacceptable” minority who did not.

“90% of the crowd were very good and enjoyed the banter. There was 10% who were pretty unacceptable,” said Postecoglou.

“The stuff I heard was pretty vile and detestable, and getting things thrown at me, not a great experience, but we’re expected to be the bigger person.

“I would have loved to have turned around and not be the bigger person in that moment, but you deal with it and go on.”

Latest Tottenham news: Left-back eyed to revive Son / Real Madrid want Archie Gray

Tottenham are reportedly ready to act on their significant interest in a top Serie A left-back who is being tipped to help revive skipper Son Heung-min after the South Korean’s inconsistent form this season.

The South Korean has not looked anything like as sharp as he has in recent sessions, only showing the odd flash of quality that has already made him a club legend.

However, Spurs have reportedly stepped up their pursuit of Lecce’s attacking full-back Patrick Dorgu in a move that could revitalise Son for the remainder of the season.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid are reportedly planning to make a big bid for Tottenham Hotspur’ youngster Archie Gray, with club chairman Daniel Levy facing the prospect of losing three Spurs players to Los Blancos in 2025.
