Their reporter, Mark Brus, wrote: ‘It may be that Senesi is leaning towards Spurs if they stay up, but my understanding is that other clubs like Liverpool remain in the race for his signature.

‘The Reds are exploring the centre-backs market as they’re really keen to add depth even if Ibrahima Konate stays and signs a new contract.

‘Senesi is one name they like, as is Juventus defender Pierre Kalulu. Both players are also on the radar of Manchester United as they’re another club in the market for someone in that position.’

Konate is on track to sign a new contract with Liverpool who’ll also be boosted by the arrival of Jeremy Jacquet and return to fitness of Giovanni Leoni.

Nevertheless, the opportunity to add proven cover in the form of Senesi – who may also serve as the successor to the squad role potentially vacated by Joe Gomez – would hold obvious appeal.

Gomez only has one year left on his contract and if Liverpool don’t intend to hand out a fresh deal, a sale while they can still generate a fee would make sense.

Senesi, meanwhile, is a known commodity to Reds boss Slot who managed the Argentine for two years during their Feyenoord days.

And according to the latest from The Telegraph, it’s certain Slot will still be Liverpool’s manager next term, though there are four things he must remedy to repay FSG’s faith…

According to the latest from Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, Tottenham have done exactly that by securing an ‘agreement in principle’ to bring Marcos Senesi on board.

Tottenham agree terms with Marcos Senesi

Taking to X, Plettenberg wrote: “Marcos Senesi and Tottenham have reached an agreement in principle.

“The 28 y/o top centre-back has given his commitment to join Spurs on a free transfer in the summer, if Tottenham stay in the Premier League. It is now up to Tottenham. Nothing signed yet.”

The three-cap Argentina international will leave Bournemouth via free agency in the summer.

He has courted interest from the likes of Liverpool and Man Utd, though it’s debateable as to whether he’d continue to be a starter at those clubs.

Perhaps with that in mind, he’s agreed to join Tottenham in a story our insider, Graeme Bailey, actually broke eight days ago.

Back on April 17, Bailey wrote: “Spurs have moved quickly to position themselves at the front of the queue for the Argentine defender, who is set to leave AFC Bournemouth on a free transfer.

“Talks have progressed positively, with an agreement now in place on personal terms.”

But as stressed, the move will only be finalised if Spurs retain their Premier League status.

Same situation with Andy Robertson

It’s the same story with Tottenham’s summer swoop for Liverpool left-back, Andy Robertson, who has also agreed to move to the north London club.

The Scot would add much-needed experience and leadership to a Tottenham squad sorely lacking in both. But as is the case with Senesi, Robertson will only join if Tottenham are a Premier League side.

Manchester United have an ‘agreement in principle’ with one of their top midfield targets, while they’ve been given hope of securing one of Tottenham’s best players – even if the London side avoids relegation.

The Red Devils look set to be ambitious in the coming transfer window, having been buoyed by their progress under interim manager Michael Carrick, as Champions League qualification is now all but sealed.

Whether Carrick remains in post remains to be seen, though it seems likely. But what’s certain is that Man Utd will be active in the market this summer, and strengthening in midfield is still their top priority.

Man Utd have ‘agreement’ with Brighton star

Brighton star Carlos Baleba has been firmly on Man Utd’s radar since last summer, when they made an approach for him, but a move ultimately didn’t materialise due to the Seagulls £100m+ price tag.

Baleba’s form has declined this season, but we reported last month that a move to Man Utd could happen this summer and it’s emerged this week that his price could drop as low as £50m.

Elliot Anderson and Adam Wharton are potential alternatives, but reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Baleba “remains under consideration” at Man Utd.

Crucially, Romano confirms that they struck an ‘agreement in principle’ with Baleba last summer, and it still ‘remains valid’ today, though a move to Old Trafford hinges on ‘three factors’.

“Baleba remains a target for both the scouting department and figures within the club,” Romano said on his YouTube channel.

“There are still several factors to consider, including the appointment of a permanent manager, budget decisions, and Brighton’s stance.

“However, what I can confirm is that the verbal agreement between Baleba and Manchester United from 2025 remains valid for 2026.

“The player is still very keen on a move to Manchester United.”

However, sources indicate that Van de Ven has made it clear internally that he sees his future away from north London.

In other news, in a separate report from Romano, he confirmed that Man Utd are admirers of Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni.

But luring him away from the Bernabeu looks highly unlikely this summer.

“Who doesn’t like Tchouameni? If you ask me, do Man Utd like Tchouameni? Who doesn’t like Tchouameni?” Romano said.

“He’s one of the best defensive midfielders in the world. [He’s] also helping with goal contributions at Real Madrid this season.

“Tchouameni is a fantastic player, and United absolutely believe it.

“But, at the moment, it all depends on Real Madrid. Real Madrid are not opening doors to an exit of Tchouameni.

“My understanding is that this story completely depends on Real Madrid.

“Tchouameni is very happy at Real Madrid, he is not desperate to leave. The situation is absolutely under control.”

There is a chance Manchester United will sign Micky van de Ven from Tottenham Hotspur this summer but not actually use him as a centre-back, a trusted source has revealed.

The Athletic’s Laurie Whitwell confirmed on Thursday that Man Utd are showing interest in Van De Ven as they chase a new left-footed centre-half.

But that might not be his guaranteed position at Old Trafford, should a transfer materialise.

On the Talk of the Devils podcast, Whitwell was asked if the 25-year-old might fill in at left-back. He said: “One of the aspects that United are looking at is left-back, a supplement to Luke Shaw and if Patrick Dorgu is used more as a left winger – there’s a few moving parts a little bit.

“I guess Van de Ven could be used there, I’ve been told just that a left footer would be ideal.”

Whitwell reported on Thursday that Man Utd are searching for an imposing defender, and Van De Ven fits the bill perfectly thanks to his strength and speed.

United could utilise Van De Ven as an attacking left-back while they still have Harry Maguire on their books, before moving him centrally in future seasons.

There have been some suggestions Liverpool have walked away from a deal for Van De Ven.

However, Ben Jacobs sent a warning to United earlier on Friday, revealing that he would pick Liverpool if the two clubs came calling.

Doubts over Kehl remain, but Palhinha could be his first signing

Plettenberg does point out that Kehl’s proposed move to Spurs is not yet guaranteed, though.

He said on X: ‘A quick decision does not appear imminent. Sources close to Kehl indicate that the former BVB sporting director has not yet decided whether he wants to return to the game immediately or take some time off first.’

If Kehl says yes to Spurs, he will have a huge job on his hands this summer.

Even if they survive, it looks inevitable that their top star will move to a Premier League rival, while they plot a hijack on Chelsea to sign a Brentford standout.

And current loanee Palhinha could be one of Tottenham’s first signings this summer, with Plettenberg also revealing that they are keen to keep him with a new ‘agreement’.

Plettenberg explained on X: ‘Tottenham are happy with Joao Palhinha. Spurs can imagine triggering the option to buy, but want to renegotiate with FC Bayern.

‘What was agreed at the time: option to buy set at €25m guaranteed, with potential add-ons that could raise the fee to up to €30m. If Bayern do not lower the price, a purchase is unlikely.

‘Final decision after the end of the season. Bayern are open to a sale. Contract valid until 2028.’

Elliot Anderson is not the only £100million-rated star Manchester United will pursue this summer, as a top source has confirmed their interest in Tottenham Hotspur defender Micky van de Ven.

Manchester United are battling Manchester City for Anderson, who is highly likely to make the step up from Nottingham Forest at the end of the season. We confirmed on April 9 that United have ramped up their interest in the midfielder as they look to hold off City.

A blockbuster move for the 25-year-old is ‘being considered’ as his ‘speed, ball-carrying, and tackling ability would be a major plus’ for United.

Admittedly, Van De Ven has had a poor season, just like most players at Spurs. But he would likely get back to his brilliant best in a less toxic environment, and surrounded by more confident players.

We confirmed on February 24 that United and Liverpool are both showing interest in Van De Ven, who is ready to leave Spurs this summer in a £100m deal.

But in March, journalist Dominic King suggested Liverpool had stepped aside and allowed United to emerge as favourites for the Premier League’s quickest-ever player.

“From what I’ve heard, I don’t believe they [Liverpool] are in for him. I would never say anything definitively about a football transfer because things can change,” King said.

“I would believe that he would want to come to Liverpool. That’s from what I’ve heard, but I’m not sure that the feeling is totally mutual at this moment in time.”

In terms of other transfer pursuits, a second source has confirmed United’s interest in a Real Madrid star.

Brentford have earmarked one of the most talented young strikers in European football as a potential replacement for Igor Thiago, should the 24-goal Chelsea or Tottenham Hotspur target be lured away in a big-money deal this summer, sources can confirm.

The Bees have a rich history of finding little-known gems and turning them into household names, with Ollie Watkins, Bryan Mbeumo and Ivan Toney among their recent success stories.

Now, with star man Thiago attracting strong attention off the back of a brilliant season under rookie boss Keith Andrews, Brentford have been doing their due diligence on a talented man who could prove their next big discovery – and potentially step into the 24-year-old’s shoes should the Bees striker move on.

Per our sources, the Bees have taken a strong interest in Matviy Ponomarenko, who is rapidly establishing himself as one of the most promising young strikers in European football, attracting significant attention from several clubs ahead of the summer transfer window.

The 20-year-old Ukrainian international, who stands 6ft 2in tall, has enjoyed an impressive breakthrough season at Dynamo Kyiv, registering 10 goals in the Ukrainian Premier League from limited appearances while contributing further strikes in domestic cup ties and European competitions.

Born in Myronivka in January 2006, Ponomarenko has developed into a powerful, mobile centre-forward with excellent hold-up play, finishing ability with both feet, and an eye for linking attacks.

His recent form, including a brace in the Ukrainian Cup semi-final victory over Bukovyna Chernivtsi, has only heightened interest in his services. He made a dream senior debut for Ukraine in March 2026, scoring in stoppage time against Sweden, further underlining his potential.

Brentford wary in case Chelsea or Spurs move for Igor Thiago

Brentford are closely monitoring the forward as they consider options for their attacking line, particularly if Thiago moves on.

The striker has attracted admiring glances from Chelsea – desperate to bolster their forward line this summer – and Tottenham, who will look to add more muscle up front if they retain their Premier League status and amid concerns over Dominic Solanke’s fitness.

Newcastle and Manchester City have also been touted as having an interest in a striker, who has scored a brilliant 24 goals in 35 games so far this season.

Brentford’s analytical approach to recruitment has seen them target similar high-potential talents in the past, and Ponomarenko’s profile aligns well with their model of investing in players ready to develop into first-team regulars.

Competition for his signature is fierce, however.

Fellow Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion have also shown strong interest, viewing him as a smart long-term addition to their squad.

In Germany, Bundesliga heavyweights Borussia Dortmund have done a lot of legwork and are keen, while RB Leipzig have dispatched scouts on multiple occasions, impressed by his physical presence and clinical edge in front of goal. Meanwhile, Turkish Super Lig outfit Trabzonspor are actively pursuing a deal and remain confident of making progress in negotiations.

Dynamo Kyiv, who extended Ponomarenko’s contract until December 2028, are seeking a fee in the region of €25 million. With his current form continuing to impress, that valuation could rise further before the window opens, but they are unlikely to get more off interested clubs. Clubs from Spain and Portugal have also been linked in the past, highlighting the breadth of his appeal, but sources say the mentioned clubs are pushing hardest.

As the campaign draws to a close, Ponomarenko faces a pivotal decision: remain at Dynamo to push for domestic honours or seize the opportunity to test himself in one of Europe’s major leagues. Sources have been clear, though, the chances of him moving this summer are growing every day.

LiveLiverpool want to bring Randal Kolo Muani to Anfield as a replacement for Mohamed Salah, according to an Italian report, but TEAMtalk can reveal the name of Fenway Sports Group’s (FSG) top target to succeed the Egyptian winger.

Kolo Muani joined Tottenham on loan from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2025.

Much was expected of the France international forward when he arrived at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but it has been a disappointing season for the 27-year-old.

Kolo Muani has had injury problems and has managed just five goals and four assists in 36 appearances in a Tottenham shirt.

With Spurs staring at relegation to the Championship, the likelihood is that Kolo Muani will return to PSG at the end of the season.

TuttoJuve reported last week that PSG want to sell Kolo Muani, with Liverpool interested in the forward.

The Juventus-centric news outlet claimed that Liverpool manager Arne Slot has ‘personally’ approved a deal for Kolo Muani.

While noting Juventus’ interest in the forward, the report stated that Liverpool want him as a replacement for Hugo Ekitike, who will spend the next nine months on the sidelines, recovering from an Achilles tendon rupture he suffered against PSG in the Champions League.

La Gazzetta dello Sport has also reported Liverpool and Juventus’s interest in Kolo Muani.

However, according to this particular Italian publication, Liverpool want Kolo Muani as a replacement for Mohamed Salah.

Salah will leave Liverpool at the end of the season, and the Premier League club’s owners, Fenway Sports Group (FSG), are keen on bringing Kolo Muani to Anfield as his replacement.

PSG are said to be willing to sell the on-loan Tottenham forward for €35million (£30.4m, $41m) in the summer transfer window.

While explaining ‘why Liverpool like Kolo Muani’, La Gazzetta dells Sport has noted: ‘This is where Liverpool have stepped in, struggling to replace Salah, who has already announced his departure at the end of the season.

‘Despite not shining this season with Spurs (5 goals and 4 assists in 36 games), the Reds’ management sees Kolo Muani as a player capable of replacing the Egyptian in the squad, thanks to his versatility and ability to operate even off the right flank.

‘This is a characteristic he has also shown sporadically this season with Tottenham, but especially for the national team, where the centre-forward spot is Mbappe’s exclusive possession.’

Liverpool want Yan Diomande to replace Mo Salah – sources

TEAMtalk understands that Liverpool have made RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande their top target to replace Mo Salah in the summer of 2026.

Sources have told our transfer insider, Graeme Bailey, that Liverpool are already in talks with the Ivory Coast international winger’s representatives.

The Premier League club’s plan is to strike an agreement with Diomande’s agents before the start of the 2026 World Cup finals this summer.

Liverpool will then formally enter negotiations with RB Leipzig over a deal for the 19-year-old.

We understand that Leipzig want €100million (£87m, $117.6m), which Liverpool are willing to pay.

Our transfer correspondent, Frase Fletcher, has reported that Diomande is also open to the idea of playing for Liverpool.

The first round of talks that will take a Tottenham star to Fenerbahce have been ‘completed’, with a report also stressing the player ‘will leave’ if Spurs are relegated.

An exodus of epic proportions is on the horizon if Tottenham suffer relegation to the Championship. Almost every major name you can think of will have realistic chances of leaving, though TEAMtalk has learned there are three midfielders in particular who Spurs view as ‘untouchable’.

The trio in question are Conor Gallagher, Archie Gray and James Maddison. Spurs are of the opinion those players should be kept at all costs, though retaining them might be easier said than done.

Liverpool are expected to test Tottenham’s resolve over Gray, and while he’s not completely off limits, Spurs won’t want to lose Lucas Bergvall – who is being courted by Arsenal and Chelsea – either.

But today’s update centres on a midfielder not deemed ‘untouchable’ by Tottenham chiefs – Pape Sarr.

The 23-year-old is a fine player in his own right, but internally, isn’t held in the same esteem as the others.

And according to the latest reports out of Turkey, Fenerbahce are already ramping up a move for the Senegalese who ‘will leave’ if Tottenham drop down a division.

Initial Pape Sarr transfer talks ‘completed’

It’s claimed Fenerbahce have already held the ‘first round’ of talks with Sarr’s camp, which were fruitful and have now been ‘completed’.

It’s now time for Fenerbahce to step on the accelerator, with the report adding ‘the negotiations are expected to become official in the coming days’.

Sarr cost an initial £14.6m when signed from Metz in 2021. The report suggested he’s now worth €32m / £27.85m, though in truth, they’ve probably just taken that figure from Sarr’s Transfermarkt page.

As you’d expect, much of what transpires at Tottenham this summer will be shaped by whether or not they retain their Premier League status.

Roberto De Zerbi has been hired for the long haul and will remain in situ if Spurs drop into the Championship.

But with regards to the playing personnel, the turnover will be historic if Tottenham are playing second tier football next term.
