Tottenham in panic mode as two Euro heavyweights plot devastating moves for standout 19y/o - TEAMtalk
Description

Tottenham Hotspur fans face growing anxiety that they may never witness Luka Vuskovic in a prominent first-team role at the club, amid mounting relegation fears and intense interest from Europe’s elite.

The 19-year-old Croatian centre-back has shone brightly on loan at Hamburger SV in the Bundesliga this season, making 24 appearances, scoring five goals and earning rave reviews for his commanding presence.

Standing at 6ft 4in, Vuskovic has showcased exceptional composure on the ball, aerial dominance and set-piece threat, quickly establishing himself as one of the most coveted young defenders on the continent.

Sources indicate major concern within Tottenham circles that, should the club suffer the ignominy of relegation to the Championship, supporters could be deprived of seeing the highly-rated prospect feature regularly in north London.

With his contract running until 2030, Tottenham still view him as a key part of their long-term plans, but the club’s perilous league position has altered the landscape dramatically.

Spurs sit 17th in the Premier League table, just one point above the relegation zone after a dismal run of form that has extended their winless streak. A drop to the second tier would represent a historic low for the club and could prompt Vuskovic to seek top-flight football elsewhere.

Both Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich are huge admirers of the defender, with sources describing him as a player who would have “plenty of top options” if Spurs are relegated.

Huge interest in Tottenham sensation

Bayern view Vuskovic as a potential long-term solution in defence, while Dortmund appreciate his youthful profile and technical qualities that align with their rebuilding ethos.

Barcelona continue to monitor developments closely, too, though they remain cautious on spending.

Hamburger SV are eager to extend the loan, yet Tottenham’s hierarchy insist they intend to reintegrate Vuskovic next season – provided they remain in the Premier League.

Should relegation occur, however, the summer transfer window could ignite a bidding war, leaving fans worried they may only glimpse the Croatian talent in a Spurs shirt via fleeting cameos or not at all.

Latest Tottenham news: Igor Tudor exit imminent / Poyet sends message

Meanwhile, my colleague, Graeme Bailey exclusively revealed earlier today that Spurs interim manager Igor Tudor is set to leave imminently ‘by mutual consent’, with the club already on the hunt for short-term successors.

We understand that Adi Hutter and Chris Hughton are two names under serious consideration at the London club, though they have other ambitious targets in mind for next term, providing they avoid relegation,

In other news, former Tottenham midfielder Gus Poyet has thrown his hat into the ring as a potential replacement for Tudor.

“I can’t say no, and I have to trust my ability,” Poyet said when asked if he’d take charge Spurs this season. Read his full comments HERE.

Boss warned 'reputational damage' awaits at Tottenham as two SHOCK alternatives revealed - TEAMtalk
Description

Adi Hutter should reject the chance to manage Tottenham Hotspur once Igor Tudor is sacked, according to a pundit, while we can confirm which other names are in the mix for the interim job.

TEAMtalk exclusively revealed on Tuesday morning that Tudor is set to leave Tottenham ‘by mutual consent’. Tottenham had been considering a change in the weeks leading up to their titanic relegation clash with Nottingham Forest, and that 3-0 defeat was the final straw.

We understand that Tudor himself is ready to leave the role following the recent death of his father, Mario.

Our sources have confirmed that Austrian manager Hutter is under strong consideration at Tottenham.

Former TEAMtalk reporter Rudy Galetti was the first to reveal Spurs’ interest in Hutter, before it was backed up by The Telegraph.

The 56-year-old, twice a Bundesliga Coach of the Year, has been out of work since his sacking by Monaco in October.

During an appearance on talkSPORT, European football expert Andy Brassell explained why Hutter should avoid joining Spurs.

“Well, he’s a good coach in the right environment, and he’s had some good moments at Eintracht Frankfurt and Monaco,” Brassell said.

“But, who really would change things at this point?

“I can’t see what particular element of him would recommend him to the situation at Spurs, and why he’d want to damage his reputation doing this.

“I’m always very skeptical of this, either on one hand he knows the club, or he has no experience of the Premier League. It’s just about the situation and the temperament to deal with that situation.

“Even though Tudor was left field, there was a lot to recommend him. I think he’s gone in there and realised, ‘Oh my god, this is way bigger than anything I expected.'”

We can reveal that Chris Hughton and Tim Sherwood are two surprise options Spurs are considering to replace Tudor for the rest of the season.

Both have strong connections with Spurs, but they are not exactly coveted names right now.

Hughton, Sherwood not inspiring names

Hughton has not managed in the Premier League since 2019, while he was last in charge of the Ghana national team.

Sherwood, meanwhile, has mainly been a pundit since leaving his role as Swindon Town’s director of football in June 2017.

We understand Ryan Mason has also been discussed internally at Spurs. Mason has acted as Spurs’ caretaker manager on numerous occasions previously, most recently in 2023.

Should one of these managers keep Spurs in the Premier League, then they will look to appoint a big name this summer to get their project back on track.

Roberto De Zerbi and Mauricio Pochettino are both leading contenders for the job long-term.

More on Igor Tudor, Spurs…

We confirmed on Monday that Spurs chief Vinai Venkatesham held crunch talks to discuss Tudor’s future, with the Croatian now set to leave.

Jamie Carragher has revealed what Tudor’s biggest failure has been.

Immediately after the loss to Forest, sources told us Tudor ‘will be gone’ for their next game against Sunderland.

Uruguayan manager will save Tottenham from relegation and ready to replace Igor Tudor NOW: ‘Trust my ability’ - TEAMtalk
Description

Gus Poyet has publicly said that he is ready to take charge of Tottenham Hotspur right now, but TEAMtalk can reveal that Spurs owners, ENIC, have two other candidates in mind to replace Igor Tudor.

Tudor was appointed the Tottenham manager on an interim basis until the end of the season only in February, following the departure of Thomas Frank.

However, the days of the former Juventus manager at Tottenham are numbered, with the team already out of the Champions League and sitting just one place above the Premier League bottom three.

TEAMtalk’s transfer insider, Graeme Bailey, has exclusively broken the news that Tudor will leave Tottenham ‘by mutual consent’.

Sources have told us that Tottenham CEO Vinai Venkatesham has held talks with other members of the hierarchy, and the decision has been made to relieve Tudor of his duties.

We also understand that Tudor himself is ready to leave Tottenham following the recent passing away of his father, Mario.

It is only a matter of time before a parting of the ways is announced, and Gus Poyet is ready to step in for Tudor.

The former Chelsea and Tottenham midfielder has openly said that should Spurs owners, ENIC, knock on his door, then he would take charge of the first team.

The 58-year-old former Uruguay international managed Brighton and Hove Albion and Sunderland in England.

Poyet was last in charge of Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors in South Korea in 2025.

When asked if he could go to Tottenham now if ENIC approach him, Poyet said on talkSPORT (11:49am, March 24, 2026): “I can’t say no, and I have to trust my ability, I have no doubt. But listen, me, I like when the clubs, they support the coach. I like it.”

Tottenham eye Adi Hutter and Chris Hughton – sources

While Poyet may want to take charge of Spurs, we understand that the Uruguayan is not among the candidates that the Premier League club are keen on.

Sources have told Graeme Bailey that former AS Monaco boss Adi Hutter and ex-Tottenham defender Chris Hughton are ‘under strong consideration’ at Tottenham.

Hutter has not managed in England, while Hughton was last in charge of any team back in 2024 when he was the Ghana head coach.

Hughton, though, has been the interim manager of Tottenham before and knows English football inside out.

We understand that Tottenham have also discussed the potential appointment of Tim Sherwood or Ryan Mason in an interim role until the end of the season.

Tottenham news: 'Serious' Man Utd interest in Archie Gray facing strong competition as Bundesliga juggernaut steps up hunt

‘Serious’ Man Utd interest in Archie Gray facing strong competition as Bundesliga juggernaut steps up hunt - TEAMtalk
Description

Tottenham Hotspur face a major battle to retain the services of Archie Gray this summer, with the midfielder almost certain to leave in the event of relegation, and with sources confirming interest from Manchester United is genuine, though they are far from the only side keen.

The 20-year-old England Under-21 international has been one of the few bright spots in an extremely difficult season for Tottenham Hotspur. Versatile enough to play in central midfield or at right-back, Gray has impressed with his composure, work rate and technical ability despite the team’s struggles near the bottom of the Premier League table. His performances have not gone unnoticed, both at home and on the continent.

And while sources can confirm that the former Leeds United youngster, signed in a £40m deal from the Whites in summer 2024, is a player of concrete summer interest to Manchester United, they are far from the only side keen.

To that end, sources have stated that Borussia Dortmund are growing increasingly keen on a move for the 16-times capped England Under-21 midfielder themselves and are positioning themselves firmly in the mix for his signature if Spurs are relegated from the Premier League.

The German juggernauts believe they can sell their project to the young star and feel they can make a strong case to convince him to leave England. But in addition to Dortmund and United, Chelsea and Aston Villa have also been confirmed as interested in the midfielder, as well, with the quartet all eyeing a move if Spurs’ worst dreams become a reality.

HAVE YOU SEEN? Igor Tudor to leave Tottenham ‘by mutual consent’ as TWO surprise replacement targets confirmed – Exclusive

Dortmund believe they can prise Archie Gray from Spurs

Much of Gray’s fate is interlinked with that of his club. Stay up, and Spurs will be in a strong position to bat away interest in the star youngster, who is not agitating to leave.

But suffer the dreaded drop and the 20-year-old will find himself in high demand and with the stricken north London side – now just a point clear of the bottom three, with seven games left to play – may have little choice but to cash in.

Sources believe in the event of relegation, a deal could be done in the region of £45 million to £50m (up to €58m, $67m) if the worst case happens.

And while United, Chelsea and Villa will all make cases to keep the player in England, it is Dortmund who are now making the early advances for a deal.

Indeed, we initially exclusively reported their interest in him way back in November 2023, when the player was in the very early phases of his breakthrough season with Leeds.

Having monitored his development since, Dortmund view the youngster as an ideal long-term replacement for Julian Brandt, who is expected to depart as a free agent this summer.

Sources indicate the Bundesliga side have stepped up their interest in recent weeks and are prepared to launch a formal bid should Spurs suffer relegation. Dortmund’s renowned ability to develop young talent gives them confidence they could persuade Gray to try his luck in Germany.

Gray’s current contract at Spurs has him tied to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium until 2030. That long-term deal provides Tottenham with some protection, but the club’s precarious league position means they could face a battle to retain one of their most promising players.

With the summer transfer window approaching, Gray’s name is likely to feature heavily in speculation. Should relegation be confirmed, a bidding war could erupt, potentially forcing Spurs into a difficult decision over one of their brightest prospects.

For now, the midfielder continues to focus on helping Tottenham avoid the drop, but his growing reputation means his future remains firmly in the spotlight.

Tottenham latest: Romano drops De Zerbi update; Romero future cleared up

On the subject of Spurs’ next manager, and in the wake of our major Tudor announcement on Tuesday morning, Fabrizio Romano has revealed whether or not Roberto De Zerbi is ready to replace the Croat in the Tottenham Hotspur dug-out right now.

Speaking of Tudor, Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher has noted the biggest failure of the 47-year-old’s stint as interim boss – and it doesn’t make for pleasant reading.

In the battle to retain their Premier League status, Cristian Romero has spelt out a dramatic relegation warning to Spurs after Opta’s Supercomputer dropped a surprising final table prediction.

At the same time, the Argentine’s future at the club has also been cleared up by a well-informed journalist.

Igor Tudor sack: Boss to leave Tottenham 'by mutual consent' as two surprise replacement targets confirmed

Igor Tudor to leave Tottenham imminently as Venkatesham ramps up replacement hunt - TEAMtalk
Description

Igor Tudor is expected to leave Tottenham Hotspur by mutual consent, TEAMtalk has been informed, with the club set to finally move to make a change after weeks of internal discussions.

Tudor has failed to register a single win in the Premier League since taking charge in February, a run that has left Spurs in deep trouble, just one point above the relegation zone, and ultimately one which has forced the hierarchy into action.

As previously reported, Tottenham had been seriously considering replacing Tudor for several weeks, and TEAMtalk can reveal that a key decision point was reached ahead of their clash with Nottingham Forest.

It was agreed internally that defeat in that fixture would trigger a managerial change – a line that has now been crossed after their 3-0 to Vitor Pereira’s side.

We revealed on Monday that talks to finalise his future were due, and that club CEO Vinai Venkatesham would have the final say. Those discussions have now taken place, with the situation understood to have been finalised.

However, the situation is not solely performance-related. Sources indicate that Tudor himself is ready to step away following the recent death of his father, Mario, and it is believed both parties have now aligned on a mutual parting of the ways.

Behind the scenes, Spurs have been working extensively on potential replacements and TEAMtalk understands that a preferred direction has already been identified, with sources confirming some intriguing options for this season.

Tottenham step up manager hunt as Tudor decision made

Among the names under strong consideration at Spurs are former Monaco boss Adi Hutter and ex-Spurs defender Chris Hughton, both of whom are viewed as viable options to step in.

Hutter and Hughton could both be considered surprise interim options; however, given the former hasn’t managed in English football before, and the latter hasn’t been in management since leaving the Ghana national team in 2024.

Hughton, though, has been Tottenham’s interim boss before on three occasions and has ample experience in the Premier League.

Former Spurs coaches Tim Sherwood and Ryan Mason have also been discussed.

Other candidates have also been explored during the process. Roberto De Zerbi and Robbie Keane were both sounded out over the possibility of taking charge on an interim basis, but each declined the opportunity before Tudor’s appointment.

De Zerbi and former boss Mauricio Pochettino remain leading contenders to be the next full time boss next season – but staying in the Premier League would be key to them accepting the role.

Tottenham have continued to assess a wide range of options as they look to stabilise their season, and with Tudor now set to depart, attention will quickly turn to finalising his successor.

The coming days are expected to bring clarity, but one thing is now certain: Spurs are preparing for life after Tudor as they attempt to steer themselves away from a deepening crisis.

Latest Tottenham news: Roberto de Zerbi blow / Mikey Moore update

Meanwhile, recent reports have backed up our information that former Brighton and Marseille boss De Zerbi is not willing to join Tottenham mid-season, though he remains an option for next term.

The Italian would only consider joining Spurs should they avoid relegation, though, and given they are only one point above the relegation zone, that is far from guaranteed.

In other news, Rangers manager Danny Rohl has stated that he is keen for Tottenham loanee Mikey Moore to stay at Ibrox for next season – backing up our consistent reporting on the youngster.

Moore, 18, has been superb for the Glasgow giants as they fight for the Scottish Premiership title and it’s understood he is open to staying with Rangers, too.

Fabrizio Romano drops Roberto De Zerbi bombshell for Tottenham fans amid Igor Tudor ‘meetings’ - TEAMtalk
Description

Fabrizio Romano has revealed whether or not Roberto De Zerbi is ready to replace Igor Tudor as the Tottenham Hotspur manager right now.

Tudor is under immense pressure as the Tottenham manager, with the former Juventus boss in danger of losing his job at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium just weeks after being appointed to the role.

The Croatian, who recently lost his father, replaced Thomas Frank as the Tottenham manager only in February until the end of the season, but the north London club remain in danger of getting relegated to the Championship.

Tottenham’s 3-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday has left the club just a point above the relegation zone.

Earlier on Monday, TEAMtalk’s transfer insider, Graeme Bailey, reported that Tottenham will hold ‘a series of crucial meetings in the coming days’ to decide the future of Tudor.

Sources have told us that Tottenham CEO Vinai Venkatesham is ‘leading the ongoing review and will ultimately decide Tudor’s fate’.

Our transfer correspondent, Fraser Fletcher, exclusively first reported Tottenham’s desire to hire Roberto De Zerbi as their manager back on January 7, 2026.

We also understand that Tottenham are looking at the possibility of bringing Mauricio Pochettino back.

Unlike De Zerbi, who is available for a managerial role now following his departure from Marseille in February, Pochettino will not be on the market until after the 2026 World Cup finals.

The Argentine is in charge of the USA at the moment, but sources have told us that he is willing to take charge of Tottenham once the World Cup is over.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has now doubled down on his earlier claim that De Zerbi will not take charge of Tottenham right now.

On March 15, 2026, Romano said after Tottenham’s draw with Liverpool: “Look, what I can tell you about the Tottenham job and Roberto De Zerbi is that, let’s be clear, between the past and the future.

“The past is that in the last three, four, five weeks, even six, Tottenham have considered since they fired Thomas Frank, have considered Roberto De Zerbi and Mauricio Pochettino as the two main targets to become the future head coach of Tottenham Hotspur. So, the idea was to go for one of these two.

“Roberto De Zerbi has always been considered the ideal candidate, also because Pochettino is going to be busy obviously with the US men national team at least till the end of the World Cup.

“So, it’s not easy in this moment to plan with Pochettino, with Pochettino being already busy with his job with the US men national team. At the same time, with Roberto De Zerbi is different because De Zerbi is free.

“De Zerbi could eventually be an option already immediately, but what I can tell you is that De Zerbi is, was a top target for Tottenham, but at the moment, Roberto De Zerbi is still not keen on taking a job now in the middle of the season.

“That’s something that Roberto De Zerbi at this stage, from what I am told, doesn’t want to do.

“So, let’s see what’s going to happen next, maybe in the summer. I am sure there is going to be plenty of interest.”

Romano said on his YouTube channel on Monday evening: “Guys, let me tell you, I told you, I think several times here on the channel, Roberto De Zerbi and Mauricio Pochettino – these are the two main names for Tottenham Hotspur permanent job in the summer. So, this remains the situation – De Zerbi and Pochettino.

“Obviously, De Zerbi could be easier because he’s available, so he can have conversations now, while Pochettino is fully focused on the US men national team for the World Cup, so that’s the situation, but, for sure, Roberto De Zerbi is a big name to consider for Tottenham.

“What’s needed is Tottenham to stay in the Premier League because if they go down to the Championship, obviously, it’s going to be a completely different situation.

“But Roberto De Zerbi, for sure, is a candidate for Tottenham job. That’s not new. He is a strong candidate for Tottenham job in the summer, not now.

“Now De Zerbi is not going to Tottenham. He’s an eventual topic for the summer if they stay in the Premier League.

“That’s what I always told you, and that’s what remains the situation as of today.”

Tottenham ‘serious’ about two-time league-winning manager as Igor Tudor ‘faces sack’

Tottenham ‘serious’ about two-time league-winning manager as Igor Tudor ‘faces sack’ - TEAMtalk
Description

Tottenham Hotspur are considering a move for 56-year-old coach Adi Hutter amid heightened speculation Igor Tudor will be sacked, according to reports.

Tottenham were booed off by their home fans yet again on Sunday after their disastrous 3-0 defeat at the hands of Nottingham Forest. Former Tottenham target Morgan Gibbs-White was among those on the scoresheet as Forest handed the north London side a major blow in their battle for Premier League survival.

The result saw Forest go two points clear of Spurs with seven matches left.

Spurs remain one point above 18th-placed West Ham United after the Irons’ 2-0 loss to Aston Villa.

Spurs chiefs are analysing the market for a new firefighter to replace Tudor and keep them in the top flight.

Italian transfer reporter Rudy Galetti revealed their admiration for Hutter last week, and such interest has now been confirmed.

The Telegraph state that Hutter is a ‘serious contender’ to take charge of Spurs in the final months of the campaign.

The Austrian is ‘out of work and available’ following his sacking by Monaco in October.

Football Insider add that Tudor ‘faces the sack’ as Spurs have begun to ‘accelerate’ their plans to bring a new interim manager in.

Spurs supposedly see the international break as the ‘perfect opportunity’ to find a more suitable replacement who can inspire the players.

Hutter has a good track record, despite his recent departure from Monaco.

He won league titles with Red Bull Salzburg and Young Boys before a successful spell at Eintracht Frankfurt, where he was twice named Bundesliga Coach of the Year.

Tottenham discussing next moves

Sources have told our transfer insider Graeme Bailey that Spurs held crunch talks this morning to discuss Tudor’s future and where they might go next.

Sources state that these talks will continue over the coming days, likely ending with the Croatian getting the boot.

Roberto De Zerbi, Mauricio Pochettino and Robbie Keane are all contenders to manage Spurs next season.

However, they need a firefighter to join immediately. Plus, any move for De Zerbi or Pochettino will be reliant on Spurs staying in the Premier League.

On Sky Sports, Jamie Carragher said: “To keep this club in the Premier League right now, they need togetherness. That was the first time I’ve seen it for a while, in terms of the scenes outside the stadium. The fans are doing their part.

“But they need something like that between now and the end of the season on the pitch, because right now they have to, unfortunately for Tudor, with the situation he finds himself in with his family [Tudor has suffered a recent bereavement] and the results, I think it would be better if Tottenham parted ways with and looked to bring another manager in between now and the end of the season.”

Romero to leave Tottenham regardless of relegation or safety as captain sends fans a message - TEAMtalk
Description

Cristian Romero is being strongly backed by a leading journalist to leave Tottenham Hotspur regardless of what their fate holds this summer, though the Argentina defender is vowing to do all he can to save the club from relegation after he delivered an honest and refreshing take on the club’s situation.

A dismal 3-0 home defeat to Nottingham Forest on Sunday has plunged Tottenham Hotspur even closer to the drop zone. Now on a run of no wins in 13 Premier League games, their latest setback leaves the club down in 17th place, just one position and one point above West Ham in 18th.

As a result, and with pressure building on interim boss Igor Tudor, we can reveal that a series of meetings will be held in the coming days and with the Croatian likely to be sacked after just seven games in charge.

Despite their miserable run of form, the Opta Supercomputer is still backing Spurs to survive – but only just.

Having provided its assessment after the latest round of games, it now believes West Ham will finish the season in 18th place, stating that Leeds will finish on 42 points, Forest 41 points, Tottenham 39 points, and West Ham 37 points.

In the meantime, Romero is focused only on the matter in hand and admits he is taking full responsibility for their struggles this season.

He told the official Premier League website: “The season is tough, especially at this moment. Another very bad [result] for us, another loss at home.

“The first thing is for the fans is thank you for today and every day as they stay with us. The situation is tough, but the most important thing is to play like a final now. It is a bad season; obviously, as captain], the first responsibility is with me.

“For me, the first thing is when we play here with Atletico Madrid and fantastic game. In the first half we were good, but in the second half we lost confidence and lose the ball.

“It is painful, it is a sad day, but the most important thing is to go with the national team, then come back here for the final seven finals.”

DON’T MISS: Igor Tudor sack coming as Jamie Carragher spells out Tottenham boss’ biggest failure

Cristian Romero to leave Tottenham regardless this summer – Journalist

Our transfer correspondent, Fraser Fletcher, revealed back on 11 March that Spurs are increasingly open to letting Romero leave this summer, irrespective of what league the club finds itself in, and with the leading club in a three-club chase for his signature now emerging.

Following on from that, journalist Ben Jacobs has also backed up those claims, having revealed what he has heard on the player’s future.

Jacobs told GiveMeSport: “Cristian Romero and Micky van der Ven are two players that are likely to leave Tottenham if they go down to the Championship, and in the case of Romero, there is a strong possibility, I’m told, that he and the club will look for a move away, even if Tottenham stay in the Premier League.

“Over the summer, Romero did a public interview in which he said that he’d like to move to La Liga one day. At that point, Atletico Madrid were viewed as the frontrunners, and they still hold an appreciation for Romero, so we’ll wait and see how that develops.

“Romero has some interest from Turkey and Saudi Arabia, but is not particularly keen on either of those options. And I’m also told that Roma made an enquiry as well. So Tottenham and Romero could part ways, and that may happen even if they stay in the Premier League.”

Latest Tottenham news: Prem keeper wanted; Sporting CP star eyed

On the transfer front, Spurs are continuing to keep track of top targets, assuming they will still be a Premier League club and with the club knowing they face an almighty rebuild to ensure they aren’t in a similar predicament next season.

On that front, Tottenham are scouring the market for a new goalkeeper amid uncertainty surrounding the future of Guglielmo Vicario, and a swoop for another highly-rated Premier League stopper is under consideration, per reports.

TEAMtalk correspondent, Graeme Bailey, revealed in February how Spurs are willing to sell Vicario if they sign an adequate replacement this summer.

In other news, reports claim that Tottenham have ‘made contact’ over a potential move for Sporting CP left wing-back, who carries a hefty €80m release clause. Any move, though, is entirely dependent on Spurs retaining their Premier League status.

Elsewhere, a pre-agreed Tottenham move is now in serious danger of being aborted if the latest reports out of Germany are accurate.

Igor Tudor sack: Vinai Venkatesham to make Tottenham axe decision as high

Vinai Venkatesham to make Igor Tudor sack decision as high-ranking Tottenham meetings scheduled - TEAMtalk
Description

Tottenham Hotspur are set for a series of crucial meetings in the coming days that will determine the future of head coach Igor Tudor, with the damaging defeat to Nottingham Forest heaping further pressure on the interim boss, TEAMtalk understands.

Sources confirmed to TEAMtalk on Sunday that it is increasingly unlikely Tudor will remain in charge for the club’s next fixture against Sunderland, with pressure intensifying after a run of results that have left Spurs staring at a potential crisis.

The severity of their slump is perhaps best captured by one damning statistic: Tottenham are currently the only side in the Premier League yet to register a win in 2026.

It is a barren run that has dragged them into the relegation conversation and left confidence around the club at a low ebb.

Since Tudor’s arrival, there has been little sign of a turnaround. Across his seven matches in charge, Spurs have recorded just one victory – and that came in the UEFA Champions League – offering only limited respite from their domestic struggles. In the league, the picture is even more concerning, with Tottenham picking up just a single point under the Croatian’s stewardship.

That return has left them perilously positioned in the table, sitting just one point and one place above the drop zone. For a club of Tottenham’s stature, the prospect of being relegated now represents more than a major concern; it’s a full-out, major crisis!

Behind the scenes, the responsibility for the next step rests firmly with Tottenham CEO Vinai Venkatesham. He is leading the ongoing review and will ultimately decide Tudor’s fate after a series of high-level discussions.

Crucial Spurs talks scheduled on Igor Tudor

Venkatesham is expected to consult with the club’s majority owners, the Lewis Family, as well as other key figures within the club’s leadership structure. Those conversations will help shape the direction that Spurs take at this critical juncture.

However, it is understood that Venkatesham will be the man to make the final call on whether to persist with Tudor or make a change in the dugout.

As previously revealed, Spurs’ hierarchy have already been carrying out extensive due diligence on potential replacements, and those options are once again under active consideration.

While Tottenham are not yet resigned to relegation, there is a growing feeling internally that decisive action may be required to spark a revival and preserve their top-flight status.

Avoiding what would be their first relegation from the top tier in nearly half a century is now the overriding priority.

All eyes are now on the outcome of these key meetings, with the likelihood increasing that Tudor’s tenure could be brought to an end before Spurs take to the pitch again.

Latest Tottenham news: Carragher’s Tudor verdict / Vicario to be axed

Meanwhile, ex-Liverpool star turned pundit Jamie Carragher has shared his thoughts on Tottenham boss Tudor, and it doesn’t make good reading for the coach.

He urged Spurs to “part ways” with Tudor immediately and outlined what he feels has been his biggest failure, and what must change for the club to turn things around.

In other news, Tottenham are already planning to part ways with Guglielmo Vicario this summer, and the goalkeeper didn’t help his cause when making another mistake against Forest.

Reports suggest that Spurs have identified Crystal Palace star Dean Henderson as a potential replacement for Vicario, while Lens stopper Robin Risser is also on their radar.

'Harsh on the man' - Carragher explains why Tottenham must instantly sack Igor Tudor - TEAMtalk
Description

Jamie Carragher is convinced that Tottenham Hotspur will use the international break to sack Igor Tudor after explaining how his systems have confused players and how he’s failed to deliver that spark, while sources have revealed when the axe will fall.

The year of 2026 could not have gone any worse for Tottenham. On a winless run of 13 Premier League games, the club has tumbled perilously close towards the relegation zone, now sitting just a point clear of trouble after Sunday’s woeful 3-0 home defeat to Nottingham Forest. The club’s near 50-year run as a top-flight club side – 1977 was the year they were last relegated – has never come closer to being threatened.

Tudor was brought in to try to revive their fortunes. Sadly, it’s gotten much worse, and just a single point from his five Premier League games at the helm tells a very pitiful story.

As TEAMtalk have explained, Tottenham chiefs always planned to review his future after the clash against Forest and were very much open to another change if things did not pick up.

Now, in the wake of that shocking loss, Carragher says enough is enough.

“To keep this club in the Premier League right now, they need togetherness. That was the first time I’ve seen it for a while, in terms of the scenes outside the stadium. The fans are doing their part,” Carragher began on Sky Sports.

Asked by presenter Dave Jones if this feels like the right time to make that change, Carragher continued: “Yeah, no, they have to do that now, as it just hasn’t worked.

“The managers tried different things as well, different systems, different styles of play. Initially, he came in, he was, you know, playing sort of man-to-man press him with three at the back.

“He’s now changed in the last couple of games with the 4-4-2, very direct football. So he’s trying different things, but it’s just not working.

“As I said, it’s harsh on the man who loses his job so early in his reign, but the whole point of the reason why he got the job was that he has an instant impact, and that has not happened.”

Sources reveal when Igor Tudor will be gone

The manner of Sunday’s defeat, with all three goals coming from crosses, left Spurs fans with a bitter taste, and it was no surprise to see the players booed off the field after a sixth loss in seven Premier League games – the club’s worst run of form in their 143-year history.

Spurs were booed off by the home crowd, and their former midfielder Jamie O’Hara reacted angrily to the defeat, calling for more than just Tudor to get the boot.

He wrote on X, formerly Twitter: ‘Igor Tudor is the worst appointment in Spurs’ history, I told you he’s a fraud. [Johan] Lange, Vinai [Venkatesham], and Tudor should all be sacked immediately.’

Lange is Spurs’ sporting director, while Venkatesham is their chief executive.

Carragher added: “Third goal, it was a brilliant goal from Nottingham Forest’s point of view. But all three goals are crosses into the box, which sums Tottenham up that.

“Not winning challenges, people free, Morgan Gibbs-White for the second goal…

“There’s no doubt that delivery [from Williams] is absolutely fantastic. But, as I said, that does sum Tottenham up. Weak.”

One well-placed source told TEAMtalk that a change is likely in the upcoming days, explaining: “It is hard to see him being in charge at Sunderland [April 12] as the players are clearly not responding.

“If the club thinks the dressing room has turned, he will be gone.”

Tottenham latest: Pochettino update; Vicario interest prompts new keeper link

Meanwhile, Tottenham are continuing their hunt for a new permanent manager for next season, and the name on everyone’s lips is ex-boss Mauricio Pochettino.

And now, a well-connected insider has claimed the United States head coach would ‘100 per cent’ come back to Spurs – and would be interested even if they are relegated to the Championship.

Elsewhere, Tottenham are scouring the market for a new goalkeeper amid uncertainty surrounding the future of Guglielmo Vicario, and a swoop for another highly-rated Premier League stopper is under consideration, per reports.

TEAMtalk correspondent, Graeme Bailey, revealed in February how Spurs are willing to sell Vicario if they sign an adequate replacement this summer.
