'Harsh on the man' - Carragher explains why Tottenham must instantly sack Igor Tudor - TEAMtalk
Description

Jamie Carragher is convinced that Tottenham Hotspur will use the international break to sack Igor Tudor after explaining how his systems have confused players and how he’s failed to deliver that spark, while sources have revealed when the axe will fall.

The year of 2026 could not have gone any worse for Tottenham. On a winless run of 13 Premier League games, the club has tumbled perilously close towards the relegation zone, now sitting just a point clear of trouble after Sunday’s woeful 3-0 home defeat to Nottingham Forest. The club’s near 50-year run as a top-flight club side – 1977 was the year they were last relegated – has never come closer to being threatened.

Tudor was brought in to try to revive their fortunes. Sadly, it’s gotten much worse, and just a single point from his five Premier League games at the helm tells a very pitiful story.

As TEAMtalk have explained, Tottenham chiefs always planned to review his future after the clash against Forest and were very much open to another change if things did not pick up.

Now, in the wake of that shocking loss, Carragher says enough is enough.

“To keep this club in the Premier League right now, they need togetherness. That was the first time I’ve seen it for a while, in terms of the scenes outside the stadium. The fans are doing their part,” Carragher began on Sky Sports.

“But they need something like that between now and the end of the season on the pitch, because right now they have to, unfortunately for Tudor, with the situation he finds himself in with his family [Tudor has suffered a recent bereavement] and the results, I think it would be better if Tottenham parted ways with and looked to bring another manager in between now and the end of the season.”

Asked by presenter Dave Jones if this feels like the right time to make that change, Carragher continued: “Yeah, no, they have to do that now, as it just hasn’t worked.

“The managers tried different things as well, different systems, different styles of play. Initially, he came in, he was, you know, playing sort of man-to-man press him with three at the back.

“He’s now changed in the last couple of games with the 4-4-2, very direct football. So he’s trying different things, but it’s just not working.

“As I said, it’s harsh on the man who loses his job so early in his reign, but the whole point of the reason why he got the job was that he has an instant impact, and that has not happened.”

Sources reveal when Igor Tudor will be gone

The manner of Sunday’s defeat, with all three goals coming from crosses, left Spurs fans with a bitter taste, and it was no surprise to see the players booed off the field after a sixth loss in seven Premier League games – the club’s worst run of form in their 143-year history.

Spurs were booed off by the home crowd, and their former midfielder Jamie O’Hara reacted angrily to the defeat, calling for more than just Tudor to get the boot.

He wrote on X, formerly Twitter: ‘Igor Tudor is the worst appointment in Spurs’ history, I told you he’s a fraud. [Johan] Lange, Vinai [Venkatesham], and Tudor should all be sacked immediately.’

Lange is Spurs’ sporting director, while Venkatesham is their chief executive.

Carragher added: “Third goal, it was a brilliant goal from Nottingham Forest’s point of view. But all three goals are crosses into the box, which sums Tottenham up that.

“Not winning challenges, people free, Morgan Gibbs-White for the second goal…

“There’s no doubt that delivery [from Williams] is absolutely fantastic. But, as I said, that does sum Tottenham up. Weak.”

One well-placed source told TEAMtalk that a change is likely in the upcoming days, explaining: “It is hard to see him being in charge at Sunderland [April 12] as the players are clearly not responding.

“If the club thinks the dressing room has turned, he will be gone.”

Tottenham latest: Pochettino update; Vicario interest prompts new keeper link

Meanwhile, Tottenham are continuing their hunt for a new permanent manager for next season, and the name on everyone’s lips is ex-boss Mauricio Pochettino.

And now, a well-connected insider has claimed the United States head coach would ‘100 per cent’ come back to Spurs – and would be interested even if they are relegated to the Championship.

Elsewhere, Tottenham are scouring the market for a new goalkeeper amid uncertainty surrounding the future of Guglielmo Vicario, and a swoop for another highly-rated Premier League stopper is under consideration, per reports.

TEAMtalk correspondent, Graeme Bailey, revealed in February how Spurs are willing to sell Vicario if they sign an adequate replacement this summer.

Sources reveal Igor Tudor 'will be gone' for Sunderland clash as Tottenham hero 'offers' to return - TEAMtalk
Description

We can reveal what Tottenham Hotspur sources are saying over the future of Igor Tudor after the awful 3-0 home defeat to Nottingham Forest, while there has been a stunning claim about a manager returning to north London.

Tottenham’s chances of avoiding relegation took a significant hit as Igor Jesus, Morgan Gibbs-White and Taiwo Awoniyi all got on the scoresheet for the visitors. Forest took the lead just before half time when Jesus had a free header from a Neco Williams corner.

Tottenham failed to sign Gibbs-White last summer, and the Forest talisman piled more misery on Tudor’s side in the 62nd minute. Callum Hudson-Odoi took on Pedro Porro before pulling the ball back for Gibbs-White, who was left unmarked in the box.

Gibbs-White had a relatively simple finish, though questions will be asked of Spurs goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario.

Williams turned creator again late on, whipping in a cross for Awoniyi to volley home after holding off Kevin Danso.

The result saw Forest go two points clear of Spurs, who sit in 17th place. The only positive for Spurs is that fellow strugglers West Ham United were beaten 2-0 by Aston Villa.

Spurs sources have been providing our transfer correspondent Graeme Bailey with the latest on Tudor’s situation.

One well-placed source said: “It is hard to see him being in charge at Sunderland as the players are clearly not responding.

“If the club thinks the dressing room has turned, he will be gone.”

But another said: “As of right now, a change isn’t planned. But obviously talks are due during the international break.”

Spurs will visit Sunderland on April 12.

According to a team of ‘five elite reporters’ with over 700,000 followers on X, formerly Twitter, Spurs hero Harry Redknapp has ‘reached out’ to the club and ‘offered to become temporary manager until the end of the season’.

Redknapp first took over at Spurs in October 2008, when they sat bottom of the table after a dire start under Juande Ramos.

He quickly turned Spurs’ fortunes around and made them top-five regulars, even winning the Premier League Manager of the Year award in the 2009-10 season.

Keane, Pochettino linked with Spurs returns

Redknapp has the close bond with Spurs fans that would help to get them back on side, though he is now 79 years old and has not been in management since September 2017.

Robbie Keane would make more sense for Spurs, as he is an up-and-coming manager who would also garner the love and support of the Spurs faithful.

Mauricio Pochettino, Roberto De Zerbi, Oliver Glasner and Marco Silva are all in contention for the job, too.

However, there are two key issues for Spurs as they pursue a top-class new coach. First of all, no boss wants to enter such a difficult situation.

Secondly, relegation to the Championship would force Spurs to enter an entirely different manager market.

Description

Tottenham are scouring the market for a new goalkeeper amid uncertainty surrounding the future of Guglielmo Vicario, and a swoop for Crystal Palace star Dean Henderson is under consideration, per reports.

Spurs suffered a hugely damaging 3-0 defeat to fellow strugglers Nottingham Forest today to leave them just one point above the relegation zone.

There is serious pressure on interim manager Igor Tudor, and the club are deliberating whether to relieve him of his duties over the international break.

But Spurs are still planning for the summer window, and the signing of a new shot stopper is a top priority. TEAMtalk correspondent, Graeme Bailey, revealed in February how Spurs are willing to sell Vicario if they sign an adequate replacement.

The Italian keeper received criticism from fans who felt he should have stopped Morgan Gibbs-White’s goal – Forest’s second. “How has Vicario not saved that? It was right at him”, said Jaybacon31 on X, which was just one of many jibes posted online.

Palace star Henderson, 29, formerly of Manchester United, has been heavily linked with a switch to Hotspur Way in recent weeks.

As per a report from The Daily Mail, Henderson is ‘under consideration’ by Spurs, with his ‘leadership and experience’ cited as reasons for their interest.

Tottenham planning to replace Vicario

The report claims that Henderson would be ‘more’ expensive than other Spurs targets, which is likely the case given he’s contracted with Palace until 2028 and they won’t want to lose him.

But his quality is undeniable, so he’s certainly a player to keep an eye on in the coming months.

Another option who we understand is on Tottenham’s shortlist is Lens keeper Robin Risser, as Bailey revelaed in his report last month.

The 21-year-old has conceded just 24 goals in 27 Ligue 1 appearances for Lens this term and has also kept 10 clean sheets, and is a key reason why they sit second in the table, just one point behind PSG.

Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest have also been monitoring the Frenchman closely in recent weeks, underlining the level of interest from the Premier League.

With several top clubs across Europe also tracking Risser’s progress, Spurs may need to act decisively if they are to secure one of the continent’s hottest goalkeeping prospects.

And of course, should Tottenham be relegated to the Championship, they would stand little chance of signing top stars like Henderson or Risser – another reason why it is so important for them to turn things around.

Latest Tottenham move: Wing-back wanted / Pochettino return claims

Meanwhile, Tottenham are continuing their hunt for a new permanent manager for next season, and the name on everyone’s lips is ex-boss Mauricio Pochettino.

And now, a well-connected insider has claimed the United States head coach would ‘100 per cent’ come back to Spurs – and would be interested even if they are relegated to the Championship.

Of course, a Pochettino return could depend on whether Tottenham bring in a new manager on a long-term contract before the end of this season.

In other news, reports claim that Tottenham have ‘made contact’ over a potential move for Sporting CP left wing-back Maxi Araujo.

Chelsea and Manchester United are also said to be interested in the Uruguayan international, who has an €80million release clause in his contract.

Tottenham battling Man Utd, Chelsea for stunning signing of €80m-rated wing-back - TEAMtalk
Description

Tottenham are primed to go head-to-head with Chelsea and Manchester United to sign one of Europe’s best-rated wing-backs, per reports, though it could take a mammoth fee to get him this summer.

Spurs‘ full focus for now is on avoiding what would be a hugely damaging relegation to the Championship, and face fellow strugglers Nottingham Forest in a crucial game this afternoon.

But those behind the scenes at the club are still looking at ambitious transfer targets, and one of those reportedly on the shortlist is Sporting CP left wing-back Maxi Araujo.

The 26-year-old Uruguayan international is one of Sporting’s most important players and has been in excellent form this season, notching six goals and four assists so far.

Araujo can play as a left-back or left-winger and his versatility is one of the things that has captured the attention of multiple sides.

According to Sport Witness, Tottenham and Chelsea have ‘made contact’ over a move for Araujo, who has an €80million (£69.5m / $92.7m) release clause.

Sporting want to offer him an extension to remove or increase the clause, but so far there have been ‘no talks’ over a new contract, which comes as a boost to his suitors.

Battle brewing for Sporting CP star

TEAMtalk correspondent Graeme Bailey revealed in December that Man Utd hold genuine interest in Araujo, and their scouts have been tracking him for several months.

Our report came during the Ruben Amorim era, and he was believed to be keen on a reunion with the player he managed at previous club Sporting.

But the signing of a new left-back by Man Utd this summer cannot be ruled out. It is understood that the club want to bring in competition for Luke Shaw, which could allow the currently sidelined Patrick Dorgu to also play in a more attacking role.

Meanwhile, for Tottenham, the future of Destiny Udogie is uncertain. As we have previously revealed, club chiefs are considering selling him, or sending him out on loan, amid interest from Serie A.

Spurs brought in Brazilian left-back Souza in the January window, but the signing of another full-back cannot be ruled out, especially if Udogie leaves.

As for Chelsea, they could do with another left-back to compete with Marc Cucurella, even if they do have exciting youngster Jorrel Hato in their ranks.

Araujo is a player to keep a close eye on as the summer approaches, with three top Premier League sides tracking him closely.

Latest Tottenham news: Big Pochettino return claims / Deal to be aborted

Meanwhile, Tottenham are continuing their hunt for a new permanent manager for next season who’ll replace interim boss Igor Tudor, and the name on everyone’s lips is ex-boss Mauricio Pochettino.

And now, a well-connected insider has claimed the United States head coach would ‘100 per cent’ come back to Spurs – and would be interested even if they are relegated to the Championship.

In other news, a report has claimed that Tottenham midfielder Joao Palhinha, who is on loan from Bayern Munich, will ‘most likely’ return to the German side next season.

Spurs have a pre-agreed option to buy worth €30m / £26m in Palhinha’s deal, but they reportedly are not planning to trigger it. However, he could instantly return to English football, with other Premier League sides interested.

‘Crazy’ Mauricio Pochettino ‘100 per cent’ return to Tottenham claim made – ‘I genuinely think’… - TEAMtalk
Description

A Tottenham Hotspur insider has made a surprising claim over Mauricio Pochettino’s proposed return to the club, even if they are relegated to the Championship.

Spurs are facing the very realistic prospect that they could be playing in the second tier of English football for the first time in almost 50 years, if they are relegated from the Premier League this season.

Igor Tudor’s reign as caretaker manager has not had the desired uplift that was required, although the Croatian did pick up his first league point in four games in charge at Liverpool last weekend. That was followed by a Champions League win over Atletico Madrid in midweek, to at least give Tottenham some momentum heading into a huge game on Sunday.

Spurs face fellow strugglers Nottingham Forest in north London in what is arguably their biggest game of the season. A defeat and there is a very strong chance that Tudor is shown the door, leaving the club to move for another interim appointment.

However, that is purely on the basis that they are waiting for Pochettino to return this summer after he has taken charge of the USA at a home World Cup.

Spurs fan John Wenham, though, who is well connected with the club, thinks the Argentine would still take the job, even if they end up in the Championship.

Pochettino remains the number one choice of fans to take over, having made such a huge impression during his first stint in north London, that’s despite our sources indicating that club legend Robbie Keane also remains in the running for the role.

And Wenham firmly believes that relegation would not put Pochettino, who boasted a 54.61 win percentage during his 293 games in charge, off taking the job.

Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, he said: “I genuinely think, and it sounds crazy, he would still come if we were in the Championship and he would take great pleasure in leading us straight back up and sort of really cementing himself with hero status amongst the fan base.

“I genuinely think he would still come back, and I’m 100 per cent certain he will be our next manager.

“The ownership at the moment, this new group of owners, all the Lewis family, since they’ve ousted Daniel Levy, have got basically everything wrong.

“They need an instant win with the fans, 90 per cent of Tottenham fans’ happiest times over the last 30 years was when Mauricio was managing the club.

“It’s an easy win for everybody to bring him back, and he’s also an outstanding manager, in my opinion.”

More Tottenham news: Vicario replacement eyed; Romero exit hint

Tottenham have reportedly switched their focus to the Bundesliga as they line up a replacement for Inter Milan target Guglielmo Vicario, who appears increasingly likely to head back to his homeland this summer.

Description

A pre-agreed Tottenham move is in serious danger of being aborted if the latest reports out of Germany are accurate.

Tottenham are fighting for their Premier League survival right now, and if it’s a scrap they lose, an exodus of epic proportions will follow.

The Athletic recently named 15 current stars Tottenham fans can expect their club to offload.

However, there are two others who can bump that list up to 17 – Joao Palhinha and Randal Kolo Muani.

Both are at Spurs on loan, with Kolo Muani’s deal a straight loan and Palhinha’s containing a pre-agreed option to buy worth €30m / £26m.

The Portuguese destroyer has been one of Tottenham’s better players this year, though admittedly, that’s not saying much.

But even if Tottenham do avoid relegation, news out of Germany strongly suggests the 30-year-old won’t be signed to a permanent deal.

Information from BILD and relayed by AbsolutFussball stated: ‘Palhinha will most likely return to Munich after the season.’

Bayern Munich were banking on Tottenham taking up their option to buy, but it now appears they’ll have to find a new buyer.

And per the report, that’s exactly what Bayern plan to do, with there seemingly very little desire to reintegrate Palhinha back into the mix in Munich.

The report went on to add: ‘A permanent transfer of Palhinha could generate significant revenue for FC Bayern, enabling them to then make their own signings.

‘BILD reports that the Munich club hopes to receive at least €30 million from the sale of the veteran. Interest is reportedly coming primarily from Premier League clubs.’

As such, we may well see Palhinha back in the Premier League next season, but probably not in a Spurs shirt.

Tottenham target Bundesliga sensation to replace Vicario as five-man shortlist emerges - TEAMtalk
Description

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly switched their focus to the Bundesliga as they line up a replacement for Inter Milan target Guglielmo Vicario, who appears increasingly likely to head back to his homeland this summer.

The goalkeeping position has once again come under plenty of scrutiny at Spurs this season, with Vicario having another indifferent campaign, while his back-up, Antontin Kinsky, lasted just 17 minutes of the debacle at Atletico Madrid after producing two horrendous howlers.

The Czech stopper could get the chance to redeem himself over the coming weeks, however, with Vicario ruled out for at least a month as he will undergo hernia surgery next week, although he is expected to start the crucial clash with Nottingham Forest this weekend.

A fresh report from the Daily Mail claims that Vicario’s transfer to Serie A leaders Inter is now all but assured, with the San Siro outfit looking to replace veteran Yan Sommer.

The report adds that Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio was in London for meetings this week and is ‘understood to have met with Vicario’s agent Valerio Giufridda’, with the Italian side ‘confident a deal can be done for a fee in the region of £17million.’

Vicario’s proposed exit will leave Tottenham looking at bringing in a new No.1, although the quality of that new stopper will largely depend on what division they are in next season.

Our sources have consistently stated how Manchester City’s James Trafford is very much on their radar, with the England stopper looking for regular first-team football after being ousted by Gianluigi Donnarumma last in the summer transfer window.

Other names that Spurs are are looking at include Brighton’s Bart Verbruggen, Sunderland stopper Robin Roefs and highly-rated Lens star Robin Risser.

Tottenham join race for Bundesliga standout

However, a new name has now emerged in the shape of Freiburg goalkeeper Noah Atubolu.

The 23-year-old has become one of the hottest goalkeeping commodities in the Bundesliga, thanks to his penalty-saving expertise and incredible reflexes.

Atubolu has Freiburg’s No.1 since the 2023/24 and has kept 36 clean sheets in his 111 appearances to date. Indeed, the young stopper’s performances this term have put him in the conversation for a 2026 World Cup spot.

German publication Bild, however, claims that Atubolu, whose all-around qualities have been likened to that of Germany legend Manuel Neuer, is looking to leave Freiburg at the end of the season.

The report adds that the 6ft 3in stopper is targeting a move to the Premier League as he seeks the next step in his career and that Tottenham are ready to battle the likes of West Ham, Napoli, AC Milan and Inter for his signature, despite the latter’s interest in Vicario.

Atubolu is widely regarded as a keeper who has the potential to become one of the world’s best in his position, while his skill-set would represent an upgrade on Vicario.

Indeed, the former Germany Under-21 international is comfortable in possession and has strong distribution skills, two attributes that Vicario does not possess.

There is no mention in the report of how much Atubolu could cost, although Transfermarkt currently values the player at €20million (£17m / $23m).

Much will now depend on whether or not Tottenham can avoid dropping into the second tier of English football for the first time since the 1970s.

If they manage to ward off relegation then a smaller rebuild can take place and a stronger Vicario replacement option can be signed, while relegation would will almost certainly see a huge turnaround of talent.

Tottenham ‘set to’ complete ‘surprise’ £17m transfer after ‘meeting’ in London - TEAMtalk
Description

A meeting held in London earlier this week looks to have yielded a breakthrough, with a report claiming Tottenham are set to sell one of their regular starters for around £17million.

Tottenham saved face on Wednesday night when defeating Atletico Madrid 3-2 in the second leg of their Champions League Round of 16 tie.

Spurs exited the competition 7-5 on aggregate, and you have to wonder if the final outcome would have been different without Igor Tudor’s bizarre roll of the dice in the first leg.

The interim Tottenham boss selected Antonin Kinsky and in less than a quarter of an hour, the Czech international had committed two blunders and all but ended Spurs’ European hopes by his lonesome.

Predictably, Guglielmo Vicario has since been recalled, but the Italian stopper is now on course to leave at season’s end.

Transfer guru, Fabrizio Romano, recently stated the expectation is Spurs and Vicario will “part ways” in the summer.

A move to Inter Milan who are seeking a successor to veteran Yann Sommer has been mooted. Sommer is out of contract in the summer.

And according to the latest from The Daily Mail, Vicario’s transfer to Serie A leaders Inter is all but assured.

The piece’s headline read: ‘Inter Milan set to sign Tottenham keeper Guglielmo Vicario in surprise £17million deal with both parties keen on cutting ties after recent poor form.’

In the copy, they continued: ‘The Italians have been searching for an alternative to Swiss No 1 Yann Sommer and sporting director Piero Ausilio was in London for meetings this week.

‘Ausilio is understood to have met with Vicario’s agent Valerio Giufridda ahead of the Champions League tie against Atletico Madrid on Wednesday and they are confident a deal can be done for a fee in the region of £17million.’

Assuming Vicario does leave, Tottenham will require a new goalkeeper and who they’ll sign will largely be determined by what division they’re in.

A prior report from The Athletic suggested Kinsky would become the new No 1 if they’re relegated to the Championship.

If staying up, Tottenham would push for a new No 1 to replace Vicario, with Kinsky remaining the chief back-up.

Manchester City’s James Trafford is a player TEAMtalk has consistently reported on Tottenham’s interest in.

Trafford joined City last summer expecting to be their No 1, but the subsequent arrival of Gianluigi Donnarumma made that impossible.

Others with Premier League experience on Spurs’ radar include Bart Verbruggen (Brighton) and Robin Roefs (Sunderland).

Description

Tottenham Hotspur captain Cristian Romero has dropped a massive “we’ll see later” hint over his future at the club, as the centre-back continues to be linked with a summer exit.

Romero returned to the Spurs team after passing concussion protocols as they grabbed their first win under interim boss Igor Tudor against Atletico Madrid on Wednesday evening.

The 3-2 victory in north London was not enough to secure passage to the Champions League quarter-finals, but it did build on the draw at Liverpool last weekend, ahead of the relegation six-pointer against Nottingham Forest on Sunday.

Defeat this weekend could see Tottenham drop into the bottom three, if West Ham win at Aston Villa, and there is no hiding away from the fact that if the club does go down then many of their top stars will seek exits.

Centre-back pairing Romero and Micky van de Ven continue to be heavily linked with moves to Spain this summer, with the former remaining a top target for Atletico.

Speaking to reporters after match, Romero insisted that his only priority was on Tottenham’s final Premier League games, saying: “The truth is that I’m focused on the situation we’re in.”

However, it’s what he didn’t say, in terms of ruling out an exit, that has to be alarming for the club ahead of the summer transfer window.

Indeed, Romero added: “I have a lot of respect and affection for the club and I want to finish the season in the best way possible. We’ll see later, but the most important thing now is to recover energy to help Spurs.”

Romero to Atletico Madrid takes step forward

The ‘we’ll see later’ line suggests a move elsewhere could well be in line for the World Cup winner, who has previously revealed his desire to play in LaLiga at some point in his career.

News of Romero potentially moving on this summer will actually be welcomed by some Tottenham fans, with the Argentine’s disciplinary issues having been a cause for concern for some time now.

The 27-year-old has been red-carded twice and cautioned 10 times in the Premier League this season, while injury issues have also played a part in him missing time in recent campaigns.

Indeed, Romero has only once started at least 30 league matches for Tottenham in his five seasons with the club, and he can only start a maximum of 28 top-flight games this term.

He is currently contracted until 2029, having penned a lucrative new deal last summer, which at least leaves Spurs in a strong negotiating position when it comes to a potential exit fee.

Reputed transfer insider Fabrizio Romano recently revealed that the chances of Romero leaving Tottenham are growing by the day, regardless of whether the club ends up in the Championship or not.

Our own transfer correspondent, Fraser Fletcher, revealed last week that there is a growing belief from sources that Spurs are increasingly open to letting the Argentina star depart ahead of a major summer rebuild.

A fee upwards of £60 million (€70m, $80m) is being mooted, if Tottenham do decide to cash in on a player who splits the fanbase, although there can be no denying that losing Romero and Van de Ven in the same window would leave a gaping chasm at the heart of the defence.

Another Tottenham star will do all he can to ensure Spurs avoid relegation this season, but regardless of the outcome, he’ll leave the club in the summer, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Elsewhere, Spurs are reportedly ready to accelerate their move for a top Belgian midfield talent this summer, after it emerged that Manchester United are looking to leapfrog all suitors for the player.

Finally, Tottenham are set to keep Igor Tudor in charge for this weekend’s pivotal relegation six‑pointer against Nottingham Forest, TEAMtalk can confirm, though sources insist the Croatian is not out of the woods yet and have explained why their hunt for a possible new interim option remains ongoing.

A Tottenham star will do all he can to ensure Spurs avoid relegation this season, but regardless of the outcome, he’ll leave the club in the summer, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Tottenham are in a dogfight to secure their Premier League status, and Sunday’s crunch clash with Nottingham Forest could go a long way to determining both clubs’ fate.

Goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario might be more important than most as far as avoiding the drop is concerned. And after Igor Tudor’s brief experiment with Antonin Kinsky in goal was brutally cut short, it’ll be Vicario in net from here on out.

However, the latest from journalists Fabrizio Romano and Matteo Morreto states the final few matches this season will be Vicario’s swansong in north London.

Prior reports have talked up a move to Inter Milan, with the Serie A leaders going in search of a successor to Yann Sommer whose contract expires in the summer.

Reporting on YouTube, Romano insisted Vicario is “one of three” goalkeepers Inter are looking at, but of the trio, it’s Vicario who is the “hottest” in terms of “contacts” that have already taken place.

Romano then added: “Vicario is doing his utmost to help in a desperate situation from now until the end of the season, but then it will be time to part ways.

“Inter Milan are continuing to work hard on securing Vicario’s signature.”

Fellow journalist, Matteo Morreto, went on to declare Vicario is Inter’s “number one” target and he’s the “favourite” to join the Serie A giant.

He finished his section of the update by declaring Inter want to “go all the way” for Vicario.

Vicario isn’t the only big name Spurs could wave goodbye to at season’s end even if they do avoid relegation.

Aside from Vicario, The Telegraph recently claimed Spurs will listen to offers for captain Cristian Romero and fellow defender, Pedro Porro.
