Tottenham to 'part ways' with regular starter as Inter Milan 'go all the way' for signing - Fabrizio Romano - TEAMtalk
Description

A Tottenham star will do all he can to ensure Spurs avoid relegation this season, but regardless of the outcome, he’ll leave the club in the summer, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Tottenham are in a dogfight to secure their Premier League status, and Sunday’s crunch clash with Nottingham Forest could go a long way to determining both clubs’ fate.

Goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario might be more important than most as far as avoiding the drop is concerned. And after Igor Tudor’s brief experiment with Antonin Kinsky in goal was brutally cut short, it’ll be Vicario in net from here on out.

However, the latest from journalists Fabrizio Romano and Matteo Morreto states the final few matches this season will be Vicario’s swansong in north London.

Prior reports have talked up a move to Inter Milan, with the Serie A leaders going in search of a successor to Yann Sommer whose contract expires in the summer.

Reporting on YouTube, Romano insisted Vicario is “one of three” goalkeepers Inter are looking at, but of the trio, it’s Vicario who is the “hottest” in terms of “contacts” that have already taken place.

Romano then added: “Vicario is doing his utmost to help in a desperate situation from now until the end of the season, but then it will be time to part ways.

“Inter Milan are continuing to work hard on securing Vicario’s signature.”

Fellow journalist, Matteo Morreto, went on to declare Vicario is Inter’s “number one” target and he’s the “favourite” to join the Serie A giant.

He finished his section of the update by declaring Inter want to “go all the way” for Vicario.

Vicario isn’t the only big name Spurs could wave goodbye to at season’s end even if they do avoid relegation.

Aside from Vicario, The Telegraph recently claimed Spurs will listen to offers for captain Cristian Romero and fellow defender, Pedro Porro.

Spurs fans may question why their club would willingly sell three of their regular starters. But if this season has taught us anything, it’s that Tottenham need to hit the reset button and that’ll begin with a monumental overhaul of their playing squad.

Tottenham scouts wowed by Belgian sensation as move accelerates amid Man Utd interest - TEAMtalk
Description

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly ready to accelerate their move for a top Belgian midfield talent this summer, after it emerged that Manchester United are looking to leapfrog all suitors for the player.

While Spurs’ current focus remains on maintaining their Premier League status, transfer chiefs remain in the hunt for top talent for next season and have their gaze now set on Belgium.

Tottenham built on their confidence-building draw at Liverpool last weekend by beating Atletico Madrid in the Champions League on Wednesday evening, although they ultimately crashed out of the competition with a 7-5 aggregate defeat.

The focus now switches to a must-win clash with relegation rivals Nottingham Forest in north London on Sunday, with the club’s summer business almost certainly dictated by what sort of business they will be able to do.

One thing they have got right in recent years is the addition of younger talent, although that has come back to bite them this season with the lack of experienced leaders currently in the squad.

The likes of midfield trio Lucas Bergvall, Archie Gray and Pape Sarr have all exceeded expectations to date, but now Tottenham are on the hunt for the next top talent for their engine room in the shape of Nathan De Cat.

The 17-year-old Anderlecht star has taken the Belgian football by storm, earning rave reviews for his defensive midfield performances in the Jupiler Pro League.

Tottenham scouts wowed by De Cat

Over recent months, it has been widely reported that Spurs have set their sights on the impressive teenager, but the north London outfit will not have a free run at the player.

A fresh report in Fussball Daten has now revealed that Tottenham have stepped up their pursuit of De Cat, with scouts impressed by what they’ve seen on recent visits to Belgium.

They view the youngster as the ‘ideal deep-lying playmaker’ for their system, but they face stiff competition from Man Utd, who have also scouted the youngster.

It’s also reported that both Aston Villa and Brighton are monitoring De Cat’s progress, while there is also plenty of interest emanating from Germany.

Indeed, Fussball Daten adds that Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig and Bayer Leverkusen are also watching the Belgium Under-18 international.

De Cat’s current deal at Anderlecht only runs until the summer of 2027, although Anderlecht currently have no intention of selling him for a bargain fee this summer.

Indeed, it’s reported that the Belgian giants are only expected to entertain offers in the region of €30m-€35m (£26m-£30.2m) for the midfielder, which would make the deal a record transfer for any teenager from the division.

Description

Tottenham Hotspur are set to keep Igor Tudor in charge for this weekend’s pivotal relegation six‑pointer against Nottingham Forest, TEAMtalk can confirm, though sources insist the Croatian is not out of the woods yet and have explained why their hunt for a possible new interim option remains ongoing.

Tudor, appointed on an interim basis, suffered a nightmare start to life in North London, losing his first four games and leaving Spurs’ hierarchy deeply concerned about the direction of the team. Those early performances prompted Tottenham to begin actively sounding out potential alternatives, with senior figures holding discussions over emergency options should they feel compelled to make a yet another change.

However, the mood around the club has shifted – if only slightly – after two significantly improved displays within the space of a matter of days. Spurs’ battling draw at Anfield restored some internal belief that Tudor’s methods were beginning to take hold, and Wednesday’s impressive 3-2 victory over Atletico Madrid in Europe further strengthened the case to keep him in place for now.

And while that result was not enough to help the club overturn a 5-2 first-leg deficit, it did at least further restore pride after a bruising few weeks that had seen the club slip to the worst sequence of results in their 143-year history.

Off the back of that, sources insist that while the performances were not perfect, they demonstrated enough tactical organisation, discipline, and resilience to convince the hierarchy to alter their thinking and the immediate need to find a replacement.

TEAMtalk understands that Tottenham will now give Tudor the opportunity to lead the side into Sunday’s high‑stakes showdown with Forest – a fixture loaded with pressure and consequence. Depending on other results, defeat could drag Spurs fully into the bottom three, ratcheting up the tension around the club even further.

Igor Tudor sack? Tottenham interim is not safe yet

Despite making a decision to stick with Tudor for the weekend, Spurs have not paused their managerial groundwork and the 47-year-old cannot yet rest easy in the hotseat, with an unwelcome loss on Sunday likely to change their outlook once again.

Insiders have told us that the club continued to explore external solutions throughout the past fortnight, but were informed repeatedly that nothing in the current market presented itself as an easy, straightforward or even a better option.

Many of the managers Spurs admire long‑term are unavailable mid‑season, tied up in complex contractual situations, or unwilling to step into a relegation fight with only weeks of the season remaining.

Because of that, retaining Tudor for the Forest match has been labelled the “pragmatic” choice. Not necessarily a ringing endorsement, but the best of the limited options available.

Importantly, sources close to the club stress that Tudor’s position remains precarious. There is no guarantee he will stay in charge beyond this weekend, and the situation is now being described internally as “game‑to‑game management”.

Should Spurs fall to Forest, the pressure to reconsider the interim setup would intensify dramatically, and the club may be forced to accelerate contingency plans.

Behind the scenes, players and staff are said to be fully aware of the uncertainty surrounding the managerial situation.

While Tudor’s coaching style has been well‑received by some members of the squad, others remain unconvinced after the difficult start. The win over Atletico Madrid – arguably Spurs’ most cohesive performance under Tudor – has helped stabilise dressing‑room morale, but not enough to fully remove doubts.

For now, the Croatian has earned the right to lead Spurs out this weekend, but the stakes could not be higher.

Survival remains the absolute priority, and Tottenham’s willingness to continue into next week with Tudor may depend entirely on what happens against Forest.

Tottenham latest: Sherwood attacks Tudor; links to Man City star grow

On the subject of a possible new interim, Tim Sherwood has now indicated he would now be reluctant to take on the Spurs job with relegation now a realistic fear, and having listed several ways in which Tudor and the club’s board have let themselves down badly in recent weeks, launching a strong dig at why the Croat is seen as a ‘firefighter’.

Should Spurs suffer the drop, an alarming report has named FIFTEEN major stars who will depart if they do go down.

Next Tottenham manager: Spurs told Igor Tudor sack would be 'mistake' as prime target rejects job

Tottenham warned Igor Tudor sack would be ‘mistake’ as prime manager target rejects mid-season move - TEAMtalk
Description

Former Premier League manager Alan Pardew has explained why Tottenham Hotspur should stick with interim boss Igor Tudor, while key target Roberto De Zerbi has snubbed the opportunity to take over and save the club from relegation, we can reveal.

Tudor joined Tottenham on February 14 after the sacking of Thomas Frank. However, it was an underwhelming appointment for supporters, and the Croatian quickly appeared out of his depth.

Spurs lost their first four games under Tudor, conceding 14 goals in the process. The most recent of those, a 5-2 thrashing in the Champions League at the hands of Atletico Madrid, was particularly damaging.

Tudor surprisingly took the decision to play Antonin Kinsky ahead of Guglielmo Vicario in goal. But two mistakes and three goals later, and Kinsky was replaced just 18 minutes in.

Spurs picked up their first point under Tudor on Sunday, as Richarlison rescued a 1-1 draw at Liverpool late on. However, the north London side are still in deep trouble, as they sit just one point above the relegation zone with eight games remaining.

During an appearance on talkSPORT, Pardew warned Spurs it would be a ‘mistake’ to fire Tudor, while also claiming relegation would bring ‘financial Armageddon’.

“I genuinely feel that it would be a mistake to make another change personally in the managerial front,” he said.

“When you look at the next four games, obviously that was a tough game away, they’ve got a draw. They’ve got [Nottingham] Forest at home, Sunderland away, Brighton at home, Wolves away.

“Now, if you wanted four games in the Premier League that were not particularly taxing compared to what you could have, I would suggest they’re ok. So they’ve got a great chance.

“If they’re going to stick with him, then obviously this is the period he has to do the business in my opinion.

“The last four are not so easy. Aston Villa away, Leeds at home, Chelsea away, Everton at home. But I still don’t see Tottenham going down personally. I think they’ve got too much, I just do.

“I just think the games that they’ve got, the players and staff, although they were very, very short today, the European thing might end and that might do them a favour.”

When asked how he would navigate the home clash against Forest on Sunday, Pardew replied: “The manager hasn’t won yet, so he’s under a lot of pressure himself. You’ve got two teams under huge pressure.

“Your next two home games, there’s that old cliche about the team has to inspire the crowd and the crowd will then get behind the team etc. They need to, it feeds onto each other.

“I think that has to go out the window for Spurs’ next two home games. You’ve just got to go there and just go ‘right, we’re backing the team’.

“Whatever passes, if they give it to the opposition, let’s just stay with them because these two games are just so important.

“Financially, it’s Armageddon for Tottenham if they go down.”

Tottenham sounding out potential Tudor replacements

We confirmed on Monday morning that, for now, Tudor’s job is safe. Spurs were expected to make a change if they lost to Liverpool, but, of course, that did not happen.

However, Tudor certainly is not in the clear just yet. As Pardew points out, the upcoming league fixtures against Forest, Sunderland and Brighton will be huge, both for his future and Spurs’ battle against relegation.

Our sources state that Spurs approached managerial target De Zerbi earlier this year to gauge whether he would be interested in taking charge.

However, De Zerbi rejected the opportunity as he wants to wait until the summer before joining his next club.

The Italian remains a free agent after leaving Marseille by mutual consent last month. Spurs could make another approach at the end of the season, but De Zerbi will only consider such a move if they remain in the Premier League.

It emerged on Sunday that Spurs are considering eight names to replace Tudor. The list includes Mauricio Pochettino, Sean Dyche and Robbie Keane.

We revealed last week that Spurs are in a three-way battle to appoint their former striker Keane, who is now in charge of Hungarian club Ferencvaros.

Keane is seeking a long-term contract to return to north London, whereas Spurs would rather offer him a one-year deal initially.

Tottenham: Spurs preparing shock SWAP deal for Serie A maestro amid financial 'Armageddon' threat

Tottenham preparing shock SWAP deal for Serie A maestro amid financial ‘Armageddon’ threat - TEAMtalk
Description

Tottenham are lining up a summer move for Roma midfielder Niccolo Pisilli, for whom they’ve already submitted an offer of €20million (£17.3m / $23m), per reports, and a potential SWAP deal could be on the cards.

Spurs’ transfer plans will obviously be impacted by whether they avoid relegation from the Premier League, but they did pick up a big point when drawing 1-1 with Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday.

Tottenham currently sit 16th in the table and are only one point above the drop zone. Interim manager Igor Tudor remains under serious pressure, but has been given a stay of execution.

But behind the scenes, the London club continue to plan for the summer window. According to Italian outlet ASRomaLive, they have set their sights on Pisilli, who has impressed for Roma recently.

The 21-year-old is a product of Roma’s academy and had a breakthrough campaign last term, making 41 appearances across all competitions and scoring three goals.

Pisilli, an all-action midfielder with boundless energy, has found consistent minutes more difficult to come by this season but he has recently been in good form, showing markable signs of improvement as Roma push for Champions League qualification.

The report suggests that Juventus have been following the youngster for some time, but Spurs are ready to compete for his signature. It’s claimed that Tottenham submitted a €20m bid for Pisilli in January, which was rejected, but they remain keen on the player. Spurs could even propose a shock SWAP deal, it’s claimed…

Tottenham could launch swap offer but financial ‘Armageddon’ looms

The report adds that Spurs ‘could propose a swap deal’ for Pisilli using left-back Destiny Udogie. This is described as a potential ‘double insult’ for Juventus, as they are interested in both Pisilli and Udogie.

Udogie has been heavily linked with moves to Italy, where he previously played for Hellas Verona and Udinese. He’s been sidelined with a hamstring injury, but is expected to be back next weekend.

While the Tottenham links with Pisilli are interesting, these rumours must be taken with a pinch of salt.

No major outlets have covered Spurs’ supposed January bid for Pisilli. ASRomaLive is not a particularly well-known source, either.

While this doesn’t necessarily believe there is no truth to the links, the reality is that Tottenham have bigger priorities right now.

Their full focus is, understandably/ on avoiding the drop. In a recent interview, ex-Newcastle manager, Alan Pardew, described the huge damage relegation would inflict on the London side.

“Financially, it’s Armageddon for Tottenham if they go down,” Pardew said on The Final Word.

Spurs face fellow relegation-battlers Nottingham Forest at home in a crucial fixture next Sunday. Before that, they play Atletico Madrid in the Champions League on Wednesday – a tie which they trail 5-2 on aggregate.

Latest Tottenham news: Romero to jump ship / De Zerbi stance

Meanwhile, well-known reporter Fabrizio Romano has revealed the ‘strong chances’ of Tottenham captain Cristian Romero leaving this summer, even if the club avoid the drop.

Our transfer correspondent, Fraser Fletcher, revealed last week that there is a growing belief from sources that Spurs are increasingly open to letting the Argentina star depart.

Romano now reports he has a ‘serious chance’ of leaving, revealing that several top clubs have ‘started to make contact’ over a potential deal.

In other news, Tottenham managerial target Roberto de Zerbi has ruled out joining another club this season following his Marseille departure.

This is a reason why Igor Tudor could remain in charge at Spurs for the remainder of the campaign, though a loss to Forest this weekend would almost certainly spell the end.

Description

The prospects of Cristian Romero leaving Tottenham Hotspur this summer, regardless of what division the club find themselves in, is growing by the day, according to Fabrizio Romano, while another observer has launched into the Spurs captain and has suggested he is only motivated by money.

The Argentina international is considered one of the best defenders in world football on his day, his no-nonsense approach and physicality making him a fearsome opponent for even the game’s most elite attackers.

And while Romero tends to let himself down, either through reckless behaviour or a lapse in concentration, it has not stopped plenty of speculation spiralling over his future, which appears to have gathered serious pace in recent weeks, with Tottenham enduring a hugely difficult season and with the club very much locked into a major battle to avoid relegation.

In light of that, our transfer correspondent, Fraser Fletcher, revealed last week that there is a growing belief from sources that Spurs are increasingly open to letting the Argentina star depart ahead of a major summer rebuild.

Furthermore, Fletcher was also able to name the most likely side to sign him in a three-club chase, as well as the minimum figure on his head that Spurs would likely start the bidding at.

Now that theory has been backed up by the well-connected Romano, who has now revealed on his YouTube page that the 27-year-old has a ‘serious chance’ of leaving the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer.

In claims that double down on Fletcher’s story last week, Romero has revealed that several top clubs have ‘started to make contact’ over a potential deal, with an exit seen as a ‘genuine possibility’ despite the new deal he signed last summer, and with Romero himself seemingly very much open to a fresh challenge.

Waddle hits out at ‘marmite’ Romero, who is in it for the money

Meanwhile, Romero’s leadership of Spurs, as well as his character in general, have come under fire from former Spurs favourite Chris Waddle, who has questioned the Argentine’s motives in football.

Romero only signed a new deal with Spurs last summer, taking him through until June 2029, though with Romano backing up our report that an exit is now on the cards, that agreement looks set to be annulled, so to speak, a little less than 12 months later.

Now Waddle has taken aim at the captain for what is perceived as a lack of loyalty to the cause.

“He is Marmite, Cristian Romero,” Waddle told Ozoon. “Some of the fans like him, and some of the fans hate him. When I read certain chats, a lot of the fans say he is 100% committed, he puts his foot in, he gives his all, but the majority think he is a liability. Personally, he gets too many yellows and too many reds.

“Listen, they had a great opportunity to sell him last season, did they not? I thought they were going to. And let us be honest, he does not really want to be here.

“He is staying with a new contract because it was a good contract, and he got the captaincy, and he got a lot of money. He has never looked, body language-wise, like he wants to be at Tottenham Hotspur.

“Personally, I would have got rid of him. And listen, if they go down, which I hope they do not, I really do like Tottenham, I would still be looking to cash in on the market in the summer.

“If he has a good World Cup, you will get a few offers. So he would be a player; they should move on.”

Latest Tottenham news: Stunning Igor Tudor lifeline; Porro in demand

Another cornerstone of the Tottenham side recently linked with the exit door is right-back Pedro Porro, after a transfer journalist revealed that one of the country’s top sides are now eyeing a move to bring the Spaniard in this summer.

Elsewhere on the transfer front, sources have told TEAMtalk that Spurs are ready to reignite their interest in a top PSG talent, although they are not alone, and any deal would be, of course, subject to the club retaining their Premier League status.

With regards to who leads Spurs through the remainder of the season, we can now explain how Sunday’s 1-1 draw at Anfield appears to have bought Igor Tudor more time, and with the club also now learning about Roberto De Zerbi’s stance on taking on the job.

Tudor, himself, also seemed a far happier man after that point, explaining why he felt he saw something in his players not previously seen across his first four games.

Tottenham: Stunning lifeline for Igor Tudor after Liverpool draw as De Zerbi makes quick decision on job

De Zerbi makes quick decision on Tottenham job as Igor Tudor is granted shock stay of execution - Exclusive - TEAMtalk
Description

Roberto De Zerbi will not return to management before the end of the season, TEAMtalk understands, effectively ruling out the possibility of him taking charge of Tottenham Hotspur in the coming weeks – and what that will mean for Igor Tudor, who believes he has finally seen something from his players on Sunday, has now come to light.

It’s been a woeful few weeks for Tottenham and their fans, who have lost six successive times to record the worst run of form in their 143-year history and slip within a point of the relegation zone.

With four of those losses coming under the interim control of Tudor, the Croat had found his own future coming up for serious debate, a little less than a month after his arrival.

And while TEAMtalk revealed last week that serious talks had been held over the direction the club is headed, we explained how the Spurs board were prepared to give the 47-year-old a little longer to prove himself, and by way of sticking with their plan to hold off on a permanent successor to Thomas Frank until the summer.

Now, in the wake of Sunday’s deserved 1-1 draw at Liverpool, the result and performance is likely to have bought Tudor more time in charge as the club continues to assess the situation, with Spurs still planning for the future and weighing up potential successors to Frank.

De Zerbi is one of a number of coaches who have long been admired by Tottenham’s hierarchy, and sources have confirmed that he was also approached earlier this year about the possibility of stepping in as interim boss before the club eventually turned to Tudor.

Even more recently, Tottenham have checked on De Zerbi’s situation again this month as uncertainty continues to surround Tudor’s position heading into the closing stages of the campaign.

However, TEAMtalk can reveal that De Zerbi, who left Marseille last month, has made it clear he will not take up a managerial role anywhere before the end of the current season.

The highly-rated tactician is understood to be keen to carefully consider his next move rather than step into a short-term role midway through a campaign – and what that means for Tudor has also now come to light…

DON’T MISS: Tottenham considering EIGHT names to replace Igor Tudor as D-Day looms for interim boss

Igor Tudor to stay as Tottenham boss welcomes spark during Liverpool draw

That stance means any club hoping to appoint De Zerbi, including Tottenham, would need to wait until the summer if they want to secure his services. Manchester United have also continued to be linked with the former Brighton & Hove Albion boss.

Tottenham continue to assess their managerial options while monitoring Tudor’s progress, but De Zerbi remains one of the names under serious consideration as the north London club look ahead to the next phase of their project.

Spurs, who face Atletico Madrid in the second leg of their Champions League tie this midweek before coming up against fellow relegation contenders Nottingham Forest next weekend in a massive six-pointer, are continuing to assess the situation surrounding Tudor.

In the meantime, Tudor hopes the point earned at Anfield, courtesy of Richarlison’s 90th-minute leveller, will be the start of an upturn in fortunes for his side.

“Yeah, yeah, we hope, you know,” he said in quotes carried by Football London. “It’s a long way to our goal, which is to stay in the Premier League; there are still a lot of games to play, but today was important to show what they showed today, independently of the result.

“As I said, when you are honest, you need to be honest, give everything, then the football will give you back.

“That was my words before the game, so this happened today. As I said, it was not easy, and now we need to see now what to do in these two games in front of us, to see who is able to play, who is not able to play, who is injured, who is not injured, so it’s not easy.

“We continue to have problems from that point of view, the numbers, but that’s why this result is even more important.”

Tottenham latest: Man City eye Spurs regular; PSG attacker targeted

Another manager linked with the Spurs job is former striker Robbie Keane. And if you missed it, TEAMtalk looked into the three-way battle to secure the appointment of the Irishman, as he waits on a possible call over the Tottenham Hotspur job.

Despite persistent links to Keane, Wayne Rooney has advised the Irishman to think twice about becoming the next Spurs manager and has suggested who he thinks would be a perfect option to galvanise the club and ensure they don’t suffer the dreaded drop.

Meanwhile, another Tottenham cornerstone has been linked with the exit door this summer, with Manchester City reportedly ready to take advantage of their struggles this season by swooping for one of their key stars in the summer transfer window.

Elsewhere on the transfer front, sources have told TEAMtalk that Spurs are ready to reignite their interest in a top PSG talent, although they are not alone, and any deal would be, of course, subject to the club retaining their Premier League status.

Tottenham considering EIGHT names to replace Igor Tudor as D-Day looms for interim boss - TEAMtalk
Description

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly sounding out up to eight names to replace Igor Tudor as manager, as the club’s interim manager prepares to face Liverpool at Anfield after four defeats in four at the helm so far.

The pressure is growing on the Croatian after he made unwanted history by becoming the first Spurs boss to lose his first four games in charge, with a trip to the champions hardly a fixture the team needs right now given their extensive injury crisis – no matter the form that Liverpool are in.

Cristian Romero and Joao Palhinha were added to Tottenham‘s list of walking wounded for the game on Merseyside, while Micky van de Ven is suspended after his red card against Crystal Palace.

The north London outfit sit just a point above the relegation zone ahead of the Liverpool clash, with Tudor feeling the heat and facing the possibility of being axed if he leads the team to another defeat.

Our sources have indicated that Tottenham chiefs Vinai Venkatesham and Johan Lange could actually keep Tudor in charge for the second leg of the Champions League round of 16 tie with Atletico Madrid on Wednesday night, regardless of the result on Merseyside – news that will not be welcomed by Spurs supporters.

As we’ve continued to mention, club legend Robbie Keane is a major contender for the role, while Mauricio Pochettino has alrady admitted he has unfinished business in north London. However, the Argentine, currently in charge of USA, will have to wait until after the World Cup to take charge, by which time the club be in the Championship.

And now talkSPORT have delivered an update on the club’s manager search, with Tudor already informed that Spurs are looking at other options.

The report states that the former Juventus coach was made aware on the morning after they suffered the 5-2 defeat at Atletico, where Tudor’s handling of goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky was criticised.

Trio leading search for next Tottenham boss

While CEO Venkatesham and sporting director Lange are driving the process, Nick Beucher, grandson-in-law to Joe Lewis and the main point of contact between the club and the Lewis family, is also heavily involved.

talkSPORT states that up to eight names are being sounded out by the club, although not all eight options are named in the report.

Sean Dyche has been mooted as a possible option. He would prefer a longer-term deal with a break clause, similar to the one Vitor Pereira has been given at Nottingham Forest.

However, any move would be complicated by his ongoing payment by Forest. He would lose his pay-off from Forest should he take another job, having been sacked earlier this season.

Roberto De Zerbi, who was sacked by Marseille earlier this year, would rather wait until the summer, but is a leading long-term target.

As we’ve already mentioned, Pochettino is a top contender but USA are reluctant for him to job share the role before the World Cup.

Keane is another name brought up, as is former Tottenham midfielder Ryan Mason, who has done caretaker role twice before.

Things will almost certainly become clearer after the game at Anfield on Sunday, with Spurs massive underdogs to get anything from a ground where they’ve not won since 2011.

Man City preparing damaging raid on Tottenham for ‘top performer’ with echoes of Kyle Walker swoop

Man City preparing damaging raid on Tottenham for 'top performer' with echoes of Kyle Walker swoop - TEAMtalk
Description

Manchester City are reportedly ready to take advantage of Tottenham Hotspur’s struggles this season and swoop for one of their key stars in the summer transfer window.

The north London outfit are staring at relegation from the English top flight for the first time since the 1970s, as they currently sit just a point ahead of Nottingham Forest in the final relegation spot.

Having not won in the Premier League in 2026, they head into Sunday’s clash at Liverpool with interim boss Igor Tudor on the brink of the sack and continued rumours about a number of their top stars moving on.

As was reported recently, Tottenham are ready to cash in on three of their star names this summer in a complete rebuild, with one of those names said to be right-back Pedro Porro.

The Spaniard, who admits his dream remains to play for Real Madrid, has been a key man at Spurs for a number of seasons and has been stand-in captain in the absence of Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven this season.

Porro was actually on Man City’s books for three years before joining Sporting on a permanent basis in 2022, and they are now interested in making another move for his services in the next window, according to Football Insider.

FI’s Pete O’Rourke reports on how City have been long-term admirers of Porro and that the player ‘will depart Tottenham if they go down this season’.

Man City’s transfer plans are set to focus on signing a new right-back ahead of next term, as they are still to replace club legend Kyle Walker, who trode a similar path to the one that Porro could take after he quit Spurs for City back in 2017.

In a real season of struggle for Tottenham, Porro has had another steady campaign, scoring once and adding five assists in 37 appearances in all competitions.

City to make their move for Porro

But, speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, O’Rourke I explained: “(Man City) have had a long-term interest in Pedro Porro. They know all about the Spanish international, having signed him from Girona in 2019.

“He never played a game for Man City during his time at the club. He had spells out on loan at Real Valladolid and Sporting Lisbon, which is where he made a real name for himself.

“Porro has been a top performer for Spurs since his arrival at the club. They won’t really want to lose him, but it could be out of their hands if they were to suffer the ill fate of being relegated this season, which is a real possibility.

“I’m sure a number of clubs, not just Manchester City, are looking at Porro and other Tottenham players to see who they could maybe steal away if the worst happens to Tottenham and they are relegated.”

Porro’s exit could be the first of many at Tottenham if they are relegated to the Championship, with Romero, Van de Ven, Guglielmo Vicario and Lucas Bergvall among the likeliest to move on.

The 26-year-old Spain international has scored 12 goals in 142 total appearances during his time in north London.

For City, however, Porro represents an opportunity to finally replace Walker, in a move that might end the Matheus Nunez experiment but could also spell bad news for Rico Lewis.

Juventus 'stand out' in chase for Tottenham man not yet seen under Tudor - TEAMtalk
Description

Juventus are reportedly the team who ‘stands out’ among those chasing a Tottenham man who is yet to play a minute during the reign of interim boss Igor Tudor.

Spurs have not had a good season and the summer that follows could be worse. There won’t be any European football next season unless the north London club turn around a 5-2 deficit to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League round of 16 and go on to win the tournament.

That should be the least of their worries, with Championship football looming if they don’t turn things around in the Premier League. Tottenham are one point above the drop zone and face Liverpool next.

Should they get relegated, their squad will surely be decimated, with defenders Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero surely among the first out the door, and there are more good players likely to depart.

TuttoJuve suggests Destiny Udogie has become one of the most followed players in Europe, and among the clubs interested in him, Juventus ‘stands out.’

Indeed, it’s believed the Italian is seen as a perfect fit for the Serie A giants, and a fee of around €20million (£17.3m) could be lodged.

Udogie not seen yet under Tudor

Udogie is one of a few Tottenham players who has had injury issues this season. The left-back has not played since February 7, and has therefore not featured under Tudor.

The interim boss has revealed that Udogie will be back to take on Nottingham Forest, which follows the Liverpool game and the second leg of the Champions League tie with Atletico.

That is the end of what is reported to essentially be a probation period for Tudor, and could mean Udogie never actually features under the boss, or potentially not very much.

The potential change of manager means it’s not easy to tell whether or not Udogie will be wanted next season or not.

He has been unable to showcase his skills of late due to injury, and while Djed Spence has at times been a useful asset, neither he, nor any of the Spurs team, have been the first name on the teamsheet this season – one imagines it’s more of a spin wheel at this point.

As such, whether Tottenham would be open to an offer for Udogie, it is too early to say.

Tottenham round-up: Tudor replacement chosen

Pressure has been on Tudor from the start, and a number of insiders have suggested his future is up in the air, with Tottenham considering a change.

Roberto De Zerbi is reported to be the “dream” candidate for the job, as per Fabrizio Romano.

TEAMtalk is aware that Robbie Keane features high on Tottenham’s list, and if they don’t get him now, he could soon be unavailable to them.
