Crystal Palace want these two star playmakers to replace Eberechi Eze - Foxes of Leicester
Description

Thankfully, tranfer expert and insider David Ornstein has made some sense of what is going on at Selhurst Park and King Power Stadium. Unfortunately for the two sides, who span across the top two English divisions, they are at risk of losing their standout players respectively. And this shall hypothetically anf consequently mean that the South London and Leicestershire sides will seek suitable replacements in the No.10/versatile wing roles. North London team Tottenham Hotspur are said to be after the amazingly talented Eberechi Eze. In fact, Spurs may well currently be negotiating for the Eagles attacker. If the England international does depart eventually, as Sky Sport and others report, Crystal Palace are eyeing these two star playmakers, with one of whom to prospectively replace Eze. Will City lose one of their best men? Or will the outstanding Fox stay on Filbert Way? Meanwhile, who is the other player Palace could seek to sign?

Eberechi Eze's mesmerising quality on display once again as he seeks transfer to Tottenham Hotspur

Eze was almost at his dazzling best versus Chelsea at Stamford Bridge at the weekend. While the 27-year-old's free-kick was sadly ruled out for the latest instance of Marc Guéhi's ignorance, the Eagles baller was immense in my opinion. He tore the Blues apart; no defender or forward was close to Eze.

Club Brugge's Christos Tzolis and Leicester City's Bilal El Khannouss

So you can easily see why Spurs are planning on finally spending some money in the right area for the appropriate footballer. And that especially applies after some of THFC's iffy and inexpensive signings, probably down to Daniel Levy.

Should Palace relinquish their prize asset, they have a couple of realistic targets. First of all, Christos Tzolis:

"Crystal Palace make approach for Club Brugge’s Christos Tzolis - The Athletic

The New York Times"

David Ornstein

Secondly, Oliver Glasner could well alternatively go after El Khannouss. Although, as a City fan, I would hope not:

Were Leicester really good or Tottenham really bad?

Leicester City attained a somewhat surprise victory against Tottenham Hotspur this weekend. We wonder whether the Foxes were very competent and completely committed in their performance. Conversely, was the actual reason for Spurs' defeat because they are in fact so poor at present?

Leicester City's beneficial day in the capital

The severely struggling Leicester City travelled to north London on Sunday. Tottenham Hotspur Stadium was the venue for the latest Foxes contest. And you could be excused for believing this would be yet another successive Premier League defeat for the King Power outfit.

You could argue that performances have declined even further under LCFC manager Ruud van Nistelrooy. Steve Cooper didn't get the best out of the squad he managed on Filbert Way. And, following a brief change in fortunes, the team the Dutchman inherited reverted to its old self. Or worse.

City most recently lost to Fulham in a rather concerning way. Chances were made but often squandered and certainly not capitalised on. Naturally another loss is consequently expected when the subsequent opponent is a traditional so-called big six EPL club.

However, Tottenham are simply not what they were. Or, more accurately, not what they should be. While Spurs are entertaining with Ange Postecoglou at the helm - they are amazingly penetrable. THFC are regularly terrific in attack, yet their boss failed to instill any defensive rigidity. They are completely lacking.

Were the Foxes really that good or were Tottenham Hotspur very bad?

It is true that Tottenham slightly dominated statistically. Although a solid and thoughtful game plan can sometimes prevail. Dedication from the goalkeeper through to the striker gives you a far greater opportunity of three points at this level too.

A woefully disappointing Tottenham entertain a deeply faltering Leicester City in the Premier League on Sunday. The weekend's match takes place at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Typically when the Foxes are in a slump, one of the last things they'd want is a visit to north London. However, right now Spurs are not their usual selves. Therefore anything can happen - and probably will!

Here today we preview an upcoming clash of two underwhelming sides which may see goals. There is confirmed team news from Ruud van Nistelrooy, as well as Ange Postecoglou's presser to cover. Not to mention our prediction regarding the result, along with the obligatory predicted LCFC lineup. What did the bosses say? And what do we forecast? Let's get to it with no time wasted!

Leicester City fitness updates ahead of Tottenham Hotspur trip

First of all, Nigeria international Wilfred Ndidi may return to training next week. This is a massive boost for the King Power outfit; Ndidi might perhaps feature against Everton. Although it's not all good news.

The Blue Army were pretty much led to believe star goalkeeper Mads Hermansen would be fit by now. Though Van Nistelrooy is yet to set a 'definitive return date' for the Dane at this stage.

The Lilywhites' injury list would make a good side: Dominic Solanke, Guglielmo Vicario, Destiny Udogie, Brennan Johnson, Timo Werner, Micky van de Ven, Pape Matar Sarr, Djed Spence, Sergio Reguilon, Yves Bissouma and Wilson Odobert.

Ricardo Pereira and Abdul Fatawu remain respectively sideline for City. Now that we have heard from the Dutchman, it is time for Foxes of Leicester's expected LCFC XI:

How the Foxes could possibly line up vs Spurs

Jakub Stolarczyk; Victor Kristiansen, Wout Faes, Jannik Vestergaard, James Justin; Harry Winks, Boubakary Soumare; Stephy Mavididi, Bilal El Khannouss, Facundo Buonanotte; Jamie Vardy.

Leicester are ahead of Arsenal, Spurs, Villa and Forest where it counts

Leicester City are in the undesirable Premier League basement at present, with only a small chance of survival. 2024/25 has been a cruel season for the Foxes whose fans have had little to be excited about. Since Enzo Maresca left for Chelsea, the east Midlands side has regressed.

In spite of raised expectations and being reinstated to the English top flight, the campaign hasn't gone well at all. LCFC sacked unsuited former manager Steve Cooper, even though he never should have been appointed. Now Ruud van Nistelrooy is at the helm on Filbert Way. He has a tremendously tough task to complete.

While the Blue Army seems to have taken to the ex-Manchester United star, he is rather unproven in the long-term. The jury's out on the Dutchman and his capacity at the moment. Van Nistelrooy might have to rebuild from the Championship. As we saw with Maresca, that feat can certainly be achieved and ascend a career.

Though it hasn't all been doom and gloom at Leicester in the past decade or so. To be fair, us Foxes fans have been somewhat spoiled during the Srivaddhanaprabha era at King Power Stadium. Even if we are relegated, LCFC will rise again! And we have technically done better than many huge clubs in contemporary times, along with bettering some formerly big outfits.

So where do City stand where it matters? Which big six teams have underperformed comparatively? And in which area are the east Midlands side ahead of Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa as well as Nottingham Forest?

When Premier League clubs last lifted a trophy - if ever

In May, it'll already be four years since Youri Tielemans' rocket won City a maiden FA Cup title. But it's actually been five years since the Gunners won anything.

"Fulham

Last trophy won: N/A

Trophy drought: 146 years

Crystal Palace

Last trophy won: N/A

Trophy drought: 164 years

Newcastle

Last trophy won: FA Cup (1955)

Trophy drought: 70 years"

Leicester stalk player so they can beat Tottenham to signing

Leicester City fans will be amazed that the Foxes are said to be leading the race to sign a new player. But they'll also have a laugh and the ridiculous sensationalism contained within the attributed headline. LCFC are said to be after one or two, or even three signings this winter. The King Power club have, however, been accused of 'literally stalking a player'. Silliness aside, are the Foxes about

to beat Tottenham Hotspur to a potentially important acquisition?

Supposed Foxes transfer plans

Journalists have given indications of the Foxes' plans for the New Year. In fact, LCFC manager Ruud van Nistelrooy also spoke on possible signings arriving on Filbert Way. Furthermore, believe it or not if you're as pessimistic as me, van Nistelrooy claims City even have a funds to spend.

While the January transfer market is active, it is reported that City want a centre back. Along with a defender, the east Midlanders are apparently targeting a full back too. That will be music to the ears of Blue Army members fed up with the floundering James Justin at right back. To be fair, Victor Kristiansen is struggling at left back as well; I'm not sure Luke Thomas is the answer.

In addition to those two positions, Leicester may want another role filled. Could City seek a winger for further productivity with Abdul Fatawu sidelined? A competent and commanding centre half is the most desperately required element for Leicester. So what's the latest?

Leicester City said to have stalked player in order to best Tottenham Hotspur

Let's hear more about this slightly zany sounding story now. Udinese defender Thomas Kristensen is ostensibly on the east Midlands outfit's radar. Yet Bianconeri boss Kosta Runjaic suggests nobody in his squad is for sale. Irrespective of that, did LCFC stalk Kristensen?
