Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn will settle their bitter feud at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday April 26.

The British rivals finally agreed terms for their long-awaited showdown, with Turki Alalshikh, chairman of Saudi Arabia's general entertainment authority, revealing the bout will headline a stacked Riyadh Season event in north London.

Lauren Price: I'll win every round against Natasha Jonas

Eubank Jr and Benn - the sons of great rivals Chris Eubank and Nigel Benn - were originally meant to face each other in October 2022, only for the latter to fail two drug tests.

Benn's two-year battle to clear his name saw his suspension lifted in November.

Since the cancelled fight over two years ago, Eubank Jr lost to Liam Smith but won the rematch in 2023 and only fought once in 2024, with a stoppage victory over Kamil Szeremeta.

Benn spent 525 days out of the ring before boxing in America, beating Mexican Rodolfo Orozco in September 2023 in Florida, then Peter Dobson in Las Vegas last February. He took both of those wins by unanimous decision.

Yarde, Billiam-Smith feature on stacked undercard

An all-British showdown tops the undercard, with Anthony Yarde and Lydon Arthur continuing their pursuits of global light-heavyweight titles.

Liam Smith returns to the ring for the first time since he was knocked out by Eubank Jr in September 2023 against Aaron McKenna, who puts his 19-fight unbeaten record on the line.

Dethroned former world cruiserweight champion Chris Billam-Smith faces Brandon Glanton in his first fight since losing his WBO belt against Gilberto Ramirez.

Viddal Riley goes in search of his 13th consecutive professional victory against Cheavon Clarke in the light-heavyweight division.

Early Deadline Day headlines

The transfer window closes tonight - here are some of the key Deadline Day headlines:

Man Utd forward Marcus Rashford has joined Aston Villa on loan.

Man Utd are increasingly unlikely to sign Mathys Tel, despite the Bayern Munich forward favouring a move to Old Trafford.

Aston Villa are close to agreeing a loan deal for PSG winger Marco Asensio.

Crystal Palace have agreed a deal to take Ben Chilwell on loan for the rest of the season.

Chelsea will leave it up to Axel Disasi to decide which club he wants to join with Tottenham and Aston Villa having held talks about a loan.

Chelsea forward Joao Felix is unlikely to join Aston Villa in this window - with a move abroad his only likely option if he is to leave.

Evan Ferguson has now passed his West Ham medical ahead of a loan move from Brighton.

Newcastle's Lloyd Kelly has been having his Juventus medical ahead of a loan.

Arsenal midfielder Jorginho is close to reaching a deal with Flamengo over a pre-contract agreement.

Brighton are closing in on a transfer deadline day deal for sought-after Nurnberg striker Stefanos Tzimas.

Kelly passes medical and closes in on Juve move

Latest from Dharmesh Sheth and Keith Downie:

Lloyd Kelly has passed his medical, and is close to officially becoming a Juventus player.

The paperwork to complete the deal from Newcastle is now being finalised.

He will join on loan from Newcastle United with Juventus obligated to buy him for a fee worth £20m.

Dabbagh keen on Aberdeen move

Latest from Sky Sports News' Anthony Joseph:

Royal Charleroi striker Oday Dabbagh is keen on a move to Aberdeen, Sky Sports News understands.

The clubs are in negotiations over a loan move, including an option to buy.

Arsenal to push for Deadline Day signing

Latest from Sky Sports News' Dharmesh Sheth:

Arsenal will work until the final seconds to try and improve the squad on Deadline Day.

A forward remains a priority - but Mikel Arteta is insistent it has to be the right player.

He said "anything is possible" following yesterday's 5-1 win over Manchester City.

Interest in Bayern Munich’s Mathys Tel remains. And lines of communication between the clubs is open.

Tel one of a number of players they are looking at.

Bayern will allow him to leave but prefer a permanent deal - or at least a loan with an obligation.

It's possible Arsenal won't sign anyone on Deadline Day - and revert to their plans for the summer.

‘It’s possible’ | Arteta hints at transfer activity on deadline day

Mikel Arteta hinted that Arsenal may be active on deadline day as they continue to try to acquire forward reinforcements.

Trabzonspor 'working' on Onuachu deal

Trabzonspor are still working on a deal for Southampton star Paul Onuachu, according to the Daily Mirror.

The Nigerian international impressed on loan at the Turkish side last season and they are reportedly keen to bring him back.

'Asensio deal close but Villa hoping for no further bids for Watkins'

Sky Sports News reporter Kirsty Edwards at Villa Park:

"We are expecting confirmation of the Marco Asensio deal.

"He'll bring a wealth of experience to Aston Villa after winning it all with Real Madrid.

"The question, like with Marcus Rashford, is how match fit will he be and can he hit the ground running, but it is another positive addition to the Villa forward line.

"Two things then remain for Villa. One is a centre back because we've seen how short they are in that position because of injuries. Axel Disasi is a key target.

"The other thing Villa fans will be hoping is that there are no further bids for Ollie Watkins."

When are the deadlines?

Here are the key times to look out for today...

Al Ahli set to sign Porto star Galeno

Saudi club Al Ahli have agreed a €50m deal with Porto to sign Wenderson Galeno.

'A day of departures for Chelsea'

Sky Sports News reporter Jamie Weir at Stamford Bridge:

"In terms of incomings, it looks like it is going to be a quiet day for Chelsea.

"The name of Man Utd winger Alejandro Garnacho continues to tumble around, but there's been no advanced talks between the clubs over him.

"But today is going to be a day of departues for Chelsea, and of course, there's a match to look forward to tonight as the Blues host West Ham."

Celtic reject opening West Ham bid for Cummings

Latest from Sky Sports News' Anthony Joseph and Dharmesh Sheth:

Celtic have rejected West Ham’s opening bid for striker Daniel Cummings.

Talks are ongoing with the Hammers considering an improved offer.

It’s understood the Premier League club made a bid in the region of £500,000 for the 18-year-old.

Cummings has agreed terms on a pre-contract but West Ham are pushing to sign him in this window.

He’s been a prolific scorer for the Celtic B team this season and he made his senior debut against Aston Villa in the Champions League on Wednesday.

'Fresh start for Ward-Prowse under Potter'

Former Premier League striker Charlie Austin on Sky Sports News:

"James Ward-Prowse is heading back to West Ham to work under a new manager in Graham Potter.

"He has to see it like a fresh start and a new opportunity.

"Hopefully West Ham give him the chance to show what he can do."

Will Rashford be guaranteed a first-team role at Villa?

Sky Sports' Patrick Rowe:

"Rashford has played his best football on the left so this move arrives at an interesting time for Villa given Jacob Ramsey looks to be recapturing his finest form.

"The 23-year-old scored against West Ham and provided two assists against Celtic. If he maintains this run, there are no guarantees that Rashford will have the starting role he desires at Villa.

"Versatility is held in high regard by Emery so playing with Watkins up front or out on the right, given Leon Bailey's struggles, are also possibilities.

"The other problem is which Rashford Villa will get. Emery has a track record of getting the best out of players so if he could get him close to the player we saw in 2022/23, who scored 17 goals in the Premier League, it's a gamble worth taking for Villa.

"But as the saga with Jhon Duran also demonstrated, Emery has little-to-no patience for off-the-field antics."

Ward-Prowse heads back to West Ham

Latest from Sky Sports News' Rob Dorsett and Dharmesh Sheth:

Nottingham Forest have agreed with West Ham to terminate James Ward-Prowse's loan deal.

He has only made three late substitute appearances in the Premier League since Christmas.

There was no recall option, but the clubs have mutually agreed.

Rashford can 'prove the doubters wrong' at Villa

Former Premier League striker Charlie Austin on Sky Sports News:

"I think it''s a good move for both Villa and Rashford, because if he goes there and performs then it's great for Villa.

"They are pushing in the right direction. But he has to hit the ground running and prove the doubters wrong."

'Arteta wants a forward in'

Sky Sports News' Gary Cotterill at Emirates Stadium:

"What buzz there was at this stadium on Sunday. Five goals and an incredible performance in beating Man City.

"The five goals came from all over the pitch, five different goal scorers, and that has tended to be the Arsenal way.

"The fans came away from the game buzzing and if anything, perhaps that has taken the pressure off the recruiters here at Arsenal a little bit to try and find that out-an-out 25 to 30 goal a season striker.

"But Mikel Arteta would still like one. He had a glint in his eye when he was asked after the match if there would be a signing. He said: "Anything can happen."

"We know that those looking at the market are looking short-term, medium-term, long-term for anyone that can improve the squad.

"There have been all kinds of strikers linked this January. Top of the list as we go into Deadline Day are Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins and Mathys Tel.

"The difficulty with Watkins is Villa don't want him to go, even though the player might be keen. With Tel, it's different. The player himself doesn't seem keen to leave Bayern Munich on a permanent deal or on a loan with an obligation, event though the club seem happy for him to leave."

What can Man City expect from Gonzalez?

Football expert Sam Tighe on the Transfer Talk podcast:

"He's a good player. He came through at Barcelona along with Gavi and Pedri, and was seen as like the more kind of physical, sort of dominant holding player of the three.

"And there was a nice dream that Pedri and Gavi and Nico Gonzalez would rise through the ranks together.

"Pedri is a bit older than the other two but as a trio, they are La Masia born and bred and they've got the perfect skill set.

"It's the No 6, it's the No 8, it's the No 10. Oh, look, it's Busquets, Xavi and Iniseta reborn.

"It hasn't really happened, obviously. Lots of Barcelona financial issues playing into all of that, and injuries to both of the others too.

"Nico has ended up at Porto and has kind of flourished. We know that players coming over from Porto and Benfica and the Portuguese League, they tend to adapt really, really well.

"Nico's a good player. And I think he does bring that frame and that physicality that Rodri has, that City have really lacked without him.

"He's 6ft 2ins and a strong boy. All the other players they have in there, don't really fit that brief.

"And we've all watched City getting played through in midfield all season long, thinking why can't you shut down attacks?

"Nico is an attempt to fix that. But my one question over it is, if this was the answer all along, why wasn't it done 33 days earlier?

"We know that they sort of approached this deal at around £40m and ended up paying £60m, probably because it was so late.

"That would suggest that this is no perfect solution. However, they were clearly feeling the pressure of time and felt like they had to do something because right now they're not guaranteed to finish in the top four.

"Forget the title. And Nico is probably as good an attempt at fixing this as I can really see on the market at this late stage."

Villa and Galatasaray only teams to engage over Rashford deal

Sky Sports News' Melissa Reddy:

"It was evident that Ruben Amorim was frustrated with the forward's lifestyle and lack of application, and from the moment Marcus Rashford stated he was ready for a new challenge, it was clear that he did not intend to change his habits at the club.

"Despite all the links, the noise and the PR, the fact was that the only teams to engage United over arranging a temporary move were Galatasaray and Aston Villa, the latter acting in response to losing Jhon Duran to Al Nassr.

"Borussia Dortmund enquired over the terms of a loan, while AC Milan and Barcelona spoke to Rashford's camp. The former actively pursued Kyle Walker instead and the Catalans made it very clear that contract renewals were their priority.

"At United, it was well known prior to this season that the 27-year-old was coveting a move to Barcelona. Juventus, meanwhile, prioritised Randal Kolo Muani and got that switch sealed."

'Danso will fit in with Angeball'

Football expert Sam Tighe on Kevin Danso, speaking on the Transfer Talk podcast:

"He's a good defender. He's comfortable with the ball at his feet.

"He's seven out of 10 in most categories.So that's that's that's a that's a big tick. I like that.

"When he plays for Austria, he plays super aggressive high line football .Obviously, we know the Austrians press like crazy under Ralf Rangnick.

"So if you're asking if he suits Ange Postecoglou's style, I would say we have enough evidence to say yes.

"And with that athleticism, it means that he can recover in behind as well.

"It's a nice second crack at Premier League football for him because a lot of people won't know that he went on loan to Southampton a few years ago and it just went disastrously for him.It was not really his fault.

"I think he played most of his football from left back under Ralf Hasenhuttl. He made about six appearances and then just disappeared again.

"But Danso spent a lot of time in England as a youngster in the academies, MK Dons and other places.

"So actually, he's been waiting for this for a long time, this crack at Premier League football. It went horribly the first time. I'm really pleased for him that he gets another go at it."

How Spurs' long pursuit of Tel unfolded...

Sky Sports News senior reporter Dharmesh Sheth on the Transfer Talk podcast:

"This whole story started quite early in the window, and it was Chelsea who started it off.

"They were the ones who were interested in him because Bayern Munich were trying to do a deal for Christopher Nkunku.

"We thought that that would ease the passage for Tel to go to Stamford Bridge. That one kind of came and went pretty quickly. And then towards the last week of the window, there was lots of interest in him.

"On Friday, Tottenham agreed £50 million with Bayern for a permanent deal for Tel.

"Daniel Levy reportedly went out to Munich to convince the player. He couldn't convince the player and he said, ‘I don't want to go to Tottenham. I would prefer to go to either Manchester United, Arsenal or Aston Villa.’

"But they weren't really pursuing it as hard as probably Tel would have wanted – and the big intervention came from Ange Postocoglou.

"He calls up Tel, has a long conversation with him and says, ‘this is how I want you to play, this is how I see you playing, this is how much football you're going to get.’

“And he convinced him. And at the time, we thought it was just going to be a loan deal. But it turns out that that loan is coming with an option.

“And if he does sign the option, I think Spurs will pay around £50m-52m. He'll sign a six year contract. That's if Tottenham do take up the option to sign him.”

Rashford 360: How his wild window ended up as a Villa player

Sky Sports News senior reporter Dharmesh Sheth on the Transfer Talk podcast:

"Milan wanted to do a deal. They ended up getting Kyle Walker because of their non-EU player rule, so that was out of the equation.

"Borussia Dortmund wanted to do a deal, rather like they did with Jadon Sancho. Last January, the finances simply would not work.

“Marcus Rashford himself, his preference, was to go to Barcelona. But if you want to find a club who's got financial problems, then Barcelona will come top of that list. And they would have had to create all sorts of salary space to even contemplate a deal for Rashford.

"And all of these deals would have required Manchester United to pay a substantial portion of Rashford's wages, which they were really pretty loathe to do. Because this, as far as they're concerned, was of Rashford's making.

"We had this long, drawn-out saga where his agents and his brother and his representatives were going all around Europe, hawking off Rashford, basically, to clubs who couldn't effectively afford to do that deal.

"And then come February 2, he finally gets his move. Now, that is a pretty long time to sort out a move, considering that you've said you want to go.

“Man Utd had to make it work for them. I was told that it was Aston Villa, plus one other unnamed Premier League club, who made viable financial arrangements to try and sign Rashford which would have been acceptable to Man Utd.

“Rashford will move to Villa on loan, with an option to buy for around £40m. But for the loan, Aston Villa will pay a minimum of 75 per cent of Rashford's wages.

“That could go up to 90 per cent, depending on Rashford's performances, his appearances, his goals, and how well Aston Villa do for the rest of the season.

“So, for me, because they've attached this option, because there was all this talk that it was just going to be a straight loan, I just wonder whether we've seen Marcus Rashford kick his last ball for the club.”

Davies commits future to Bayern

Alphonso Davies has signed a contract extension with Bayern Munich until 2030.

The 24-year-old, who joined from Vancouver Whitecaps in 2018, had been heavily linked with a move away from the club but now commits his long-term future to Bayern.

Speaking to the official club website after the contract was confirmed, Davies said: “I am very happy to have extended my contract at this great club. I came to FC Bayern when I was 18 and just wanted to learn as much as possible every day to become one of the best in my position.

"Now I'm looking forward to another five years together. I’ve already achieved a lot here, but there’s more to come.”

Disasi explains why he chose Villa

Axel Disasi has explained why he chose to join Aston Villa when other clubs like Tottenham were interested in him.

Villa submitted a deal sheet to sign the player on loan after the window closed at 11pm on Monday evening, with the signing eventually confirmed at around 1am.

"The deal is done. As you say, it was stressful but I am very happy to be here," Disasi told the official Villa media team.

"The coach and the sporting director, they made me feel safe. It was very clear and very good. They were trusting in me, all of this made my decision to come here.

"I have a desire to play and to win. I am just a guy who loves to give everything to the team."

Ange Postecoglou future: Why Tottenham and Daniel Levy are sticking with Australian head coach for now

Submitted by daniel on

Description

Tottenham's season is in crisis with the pressure ramping up on Ange Postecoglou.

Spurs' 3-2 defeat to Everton has left them 15th in the Premier League table - closer to the relegation zone than the European places.

The loss, which saw Postecoglou's side go 3-0 down at half-time to a team that had scored 15 goals in 20 games beforehand, was Spurs' 12 defeat of the season and continues a dismal run of one win - against basement club Southampton - in their last 10 games.

Analysis: Stick to the plan! Ange and Amori are refusing to adapt

Ange determined to turn Spurs around after 'unacceptable' Everton loss

Club news, transfers & gossip: Tottenham

Live Premier League table | Watch PL highlights for free

Spurs' dozen defeats this term is the most they have suffered after 22 league games in over a quarter of a century - while they only have nine Premier League wins in the last nine months - losing 24 out of the last 50 matches.

So what is next for Postecoglou and Tottenham ahead of a busy end to January both on and off the field? Sky Sports News' Michael Bridge explains all...

Is Postecoglou under any severe pressure?

My understanding is he's not under any severe pressure. I think there's pressure because they're 15th in the league. To them, it is unacceptable.

But Postecoglou said that himself. He also said, and he's right, that they are still in three cup competitions, but the league position is not acceptable.

So, there is pressure. But in terms of his job security, I do believe he still has the full backing of the board.

But the next three or four weeks determine Tottenham's season. If the likes of Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero come back in the next few weeks, they could qualify for the Europa League last 16, they might get to the Carabao Cup final, they might beat Aston Villa in the FA Cup.

Then you're turning around and saying, actually, this could still be a good season.

However, they could lose to Hoffenheim in Europe on Thursday, get knocked out of that top eight, and then they've got two extra games to reach the latter stages of the Europa League. They could lose at Anfield in the second leg in the Carabao Cup and they could go out to Villa.

If that were to happen it could be a tough few months until May.

Why are the board giving him this time?

I think there's an acceptance that these injuries are seriously derailing the side. They're not just the odd injuries, they're bad injuries.

People can blame him on the style of play which has led to hamstring injuries. You cannot blame Postecoglou on Dominic Solanke kicking a ball in training and his knee going.

Postecoglou has said for the last two or three weeks to me and colleagues: Dom needs help. And now Dom is injured.

It's the 20th of January and no outfield signing has come in. Yes, January is difficult, but he really does need some help now.

Will Postecoglou get that support in the January transfer market?

I do believe so. They have to bring players in. January is not easy, but it is achievable. Spurs have had some good January windows.

For example, Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur were January signings and now they're Tottenham's two best players. So it can happen.

But European clubs aren't as keen to give away their players in January. We've got European football in January now, which has never happened before.

But even so, I still believe that Spurs will bring in at least one player, but it needs to happen quite soon.

Where do the Spurs fans sit on Postecoglou?

Mixed is probably a fair assessment right now after the defeat to Everton.

When he joined, I've never known love like it. Postecoglou said it himself, the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium was like being in a nightclub. Even Robbie Williams started singing songs about him.

And then they went on a poor run when they had that Chelsea game, that 4-1 defeat on Monday Night Football. The season just derailed after that and Postecoglou didn't really get that back.

Many fans just think it's not his fault and that he's not been backed. They feel the squad's not good enough, he needs money, they need better recruitment.

Whereas some fans are upset with how he's only got one way of playing. Some feel the injuries are down to him, and they're not happy with the high line and the open midfield.

Some feel he is stubborn and some feel it might be time for a change, but who do you bring in? We've seen Ruben Amorim being so unsure about joining a club mid-season with so much work to do.

Daniel Levy has sacked Spurs managers mid-season before, how would that look?

I don't know if the fans would accept an interim like Ryan Mason, like they have the last two times. With the murmurings I hear, I don't think they'd accept that.

Postecoglou still retains a good relationship with the Spurs hierarchy. The head of football operations is Scott Munn, who is an Australian and is a supporter of Ange.

Postecoglou works with Johan Lange very well, the Tottenham technical director. But the next three to four weeks are pivotal to Tottenham's season.

If Postecoglou was to be sacked soon, where would it leave Daniel Levy with the Spurs fans?

I don't think Daniel Levy personally would want to be in any rush to fire another manager.

But if he did, it would cause a very tense last few months of the season in the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in terms of atmosphere.

Spurs are riddled with injuries at the moment, is there any explanation as to why?

There is no doubt that given Tottenham's style of play, there is that risk.

I also think poor recruitment has caught up with the club. I look at the squad, and I don't consider it a top-six squad at the moment.

I think in fairness to Postecoglou, he didn't probably give himself enough credit for when they finished fifth in the first season without Harry Kane.

Spurs spent a few seasons playing poorly, winning 1-0 with a Kane thunderbolt. They used to overly rely on him. They didn't have him last season, and they still had a pretty good season.

This season, you've seen a number of injuries, poor performances, and then the likes of Heung-Min Son, who has had a tough season, is a year older.

And one of the most disappointing facts is I don't think, and this is maybe a collective responsibility, they didn't really plan for the extra European matches.

Last season, Spurs weren't in Europe. They got knocked out of the FA Cup. They got knocked out of the Carabao Cup in the second round. So they essentially only had about 42 games.

This year, they've played their 34th game already. They've got two more European matches this month. They've got a second leg in the Carabao Cup. They've got the FA Cup.
