According to Calciomercato, even though Emerson Royal is keen to swiftly complete a move to AC Milan, Tottenham have turned down the Italian club’s opening offer for the defender.

AC Milan want Emerson Royal from Spurs

The report backs up what we have heard from various sources over recent days, explaining that Emerson has been identified by Milan as their number one target ahead of Aston Villa’s Matty Cash and Lille’s Thiago Santos.

The Spurs star has also allegedly agreed personal terms on a long-term contract worth €3m per year and is now ‘waiting for a call’ to make the move to the San Siro.

However, the Premier League club are not making the deal easy and are sticking to their valuation for the player.

Tottenham reject AC Milan’s opening offer

It is explained that Spurs turned down an offer of around €14m and have made it clear to the Rossoneri that they will not sell the full-back for less than €20m.

MORE SPURS STORIES

The outlet claims that the various agents and intermediaries involved in the negotiations are now working to try and soften Tottenham’s stance so that an agreement can be reached.

However, the publication adds that Emerson would have to wait for the time being as ‘more time is needed’ for the two sides to sort out their differences.

Spurs Web Opinion

Given Emerson’s keenness to make the move to the Serie A giants, one would expect the two sides to potentially meet in the middle or work out some sort of compromise over the coming days.

I think £15m or so would be a fair fee for Emerson Royal this summer.

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has revealed that two new League One sides have now expressed interest in signing Tottenham youngster Jamie Donley on loan ahead of the upcoming season.

Jamie Donley is highly-rated at Tottenham

Just two days ago, we relayed a report from Gold about the growing interest in Donley’s services on the back of his outstanding showing for Tottenham’s Under-21s last season.

The youngster also featured multiple times off the bench for Ange Postecoglou’s senior side across the Premier League season.

The report revealed that newly promoted Championship side Oxford United were keen on signing the 19-year-old as were Luton Town and League One side, Birmingham City, who are now managed by Tottenham’s former senior assistant head coach Chris Davies.

Two new clubs enter race for Jamie Donley

Gold has now revealed in his latest update that two more third-tier clubs have now reached out to Spurs over a deal for Donley.

MORE SPURS STORIES

The two clubs circling are local rivals Bristol City and Bristol Rovers, who are allegedly ready to give teenager regular League One football in the 2024-25 season.

The journalist adds that a decision is not expected immediately as Donley is set to be heavily involved in Ange Postecoglou’s pre-season plans, including the club’s upcoming summer tour to Japan and South Korea at the end of July.

Spurs Web Opinion

Postecoglou is spoilt for choice in the number eight role, with the two new arrivals, Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray, also capable of playing in that position.

Donley might thus find it difficult to get much of a look-in even in the Europa League, which is why a loan move might be the best choice.

According to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth, Pedro Neto wants to move to a club with Champions League football, thus complicating Tottenham’s efforts to land the Wolves star.

Pedro Neto is on Tottenham’s radar

The Neto to Spurs rumours had gone quiet for a while but they re-emerged last week when Tottenham insider Paul O’Keefe revealed that the Wolves star is back on the North London club’s wishlist as they plot a move for a winger.

A few days ago, Fabrizio Romano revealed on Playback that the 24-year-old is indeed on Spurs’ radar, with the journalist adding that the attacker is greatly appreciated by the Lilywhites hierarchy.

However, Romano explained that Ange Postecoglou’s men do have some concerns about the Portuguese star’s poor fitness record.

Pedro Neto wants Champions League football

Sheth has now suggested that while Neto is ready to leave the Molineux Stadium, he has made it clear that he wants to join a Champions League club, although the Sky reporter refused a rule out the player joining Spurs later in the window.

MORE SPURS STORIES

He said on The Last Word on Spurs podcast: “At the moment, and this could change, but if he was to move it’s likely he’d want to go to a club that has Champions League football next season.

“That would rule Tottenham out at the moment, but that’s not to say that later in the window that if Tottenham really pushed for him and nobody else came in for him you can’t rule it out.”

Spurs Web Opinion

It does not seem like any of these outlets have any clue who Tottenham’s top targets are for the wide birth.

The club are seemingly keeping tabs on a few options and one would expect them to narrow in on their first choice over the coming days.

Description

According to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth, Tottenham Hotspur are continuing to plot a move for Jacob Ramsey despite seeing their previous advances rejected by Aston Villa.

Jacob Ramsey has been linked with a Spurs move

There has been a lot said and written about Tottenham’s pursuit of Ramsey over the last week, with the midfielder thought to be one of the names on Ange Postecoglou’s wishlist.

Several sources indicated last week that Spurs had submitted an offer of £20m plus Giovani Lo Celso for the 23-year-old which had been turned down by Villa (Matt Maher).

A couple of days ago, Football Insider suggested that Villa have taken the Englishman out of the shop window now that the PSR deadline has passed.

The report said that the Midlands club have balanced their books through the sales of Douglas Luiz to Juventus, Tim Iroegbunam to Everton and Morgan Sanson to Nice, and are now reluctant to lose their academy graduate.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Jacob Ramsey to Spurs is still possible this summer

However, Sheth believes that Tottenham are still of the belief that Ramsey is very much gettable this summer.

The journalist said on the Last Word on Spurs podcast: “I was speaking to someone about this earlier on because it went quiet when a deal didn’t materialise, but I am told it’s not off the table yet as far as Tottenham are concerned, they are still interested in Jacob Ramsey.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Tottenham’s pursuit of Gallagher and Ramsey both seemed to hinge on Chelsea and Villa having to sell players due to PSR considerations.

With the deadline now passed, a deal for either English midfielder now looks quite unlikely.

Description

According to a report in Sabah, Fenerbahce have not given up on their pursuit of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, with the club soon expected to reach out to Tottenham over the midfielder.

Fenerbahce and Galatasaray both like Hojbjerg

Several Turkish outlets have reported this summer that Fenerbahce and Galatasaray are both keen on securing Hojbjerg’s services this summer.

This includes a report by Takvim, who claimed last month that the two Istanbul clubs are ready for a ‘transfer war’ over the experienced star.

According to Sabah’s latest update, the two clubs continue to circle over the Denmark international, with Fenerbahce, having identified the player as a player as a ‘priority target’.

Mourinho could be crucial in Hojbjerg pursuit

The report adds that the Yellow Canaries are aware of Hojbejrg’s intention to leave Spurs and they have one ‘big trump card’ up their sleeve – Jose Mourinho.

MORE SPURS STORIES

With the former Tottenham head coach taking over at Sukru Saracoglu Stadium, the Turkish giants believe that he can persuade his former player to make the move to the club.

The publication adds that Fenerbahce will ‘start negotiations’ with the North London club ‘this week’ regarding the former Southampton man.

Spurs Web Opinion

We know that Hojbjerg is quite close with Jose but I do not see the 28-year-old moving to Turkey at this stage of his career.

He can still play for a top side and he will likely be eyeing a move to Spain or Italy this summer.

Report: Juventus decide to cash in on attacker Spurs have been linked with

Description

Fabrizio Romano reports that Juventus have made up their mind to cash in on rumoured Tottenham target Federico Chiesa this summer.

Juventus want to sell Federico Chiesa

Chiesa has just one year left on his contract at Juve and it looks like the winger’s time at the Allianz Stadium is set to come to an end this summer.

Leading up to the summer transfer window, a number of outlets reported that Tottenham were keeping a close eye on the Italy international’s situation and were considering making an offer for him (Football Transfers).

Just a few days ago, Gazzetta dello Sport (via Il Bianconero) also credited Spurs with an interest in the 26-year-old, stating that the player is on the radars of the the Lilywhites, as well as Man Utd and Bayern Munich.

Tottenham have been linked with Chiesa

It is unclear where Chiesa will end up this summer but Romano has now confirmed that the former Fiorentina man will not be at Turin next season.

MORE SPURS STORIES

This is because the Biancoerni have allegedly decided to cash in on the versatile attacker, who is not in the plans of new boss Thiago Motta.

The Serie A giants are said to be ‘looking for solutions’ and are intent on offloading Chiesa and replacing him with a new winger.

Spurs Web Opinion

Chiesa will be relatively inexpensive and add some experience to Tottenham’s frontline while his versatility would also give Postecoglou a lot more options in attack.

However, the Italian does not quite fit the profile of the players Spurs have targeted under Postecolgou, with the club tending to go for younger players with a high ceiling.

Marc Cucurella has revealed that he has been in the ear of rumoured Tottenham target Nico Williams, trying to persuade his international teammate to join him at Chelsea.

Nico Williams is highly sought after this summer

Spain have been the best team in the Euros so far and Williams has been one of the main driving forces behind their impressive showing, with the Athletic Club Bilbao star’s reputation continuing to grow.

There has already been plenty of speculation linking him with an exit from San Mames this summer, with Spurs being mooted as a potential destination.

The latest such report came from The Standard, who suggested that there could be a three-way battle between Tottenham, Chelsea and Barcelona for the 21-year-old’s services.

The report added that a number of other clubs across Europe are also following the winger’s situation since he has a release clause of around £45m-£50m in his contract at the Basque club.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Cucurella is trying to convince Nico Williams to join Chelsea

It turns out that the Blues might have an advantage over Tottenham and others in the race for Williams as Cucurella has revealed that he is trying his best to convince the attacker to move to West London.

The Chelsea left-back told Sport about the Bilbao star: “He would be a great signing (for Barcelona), but it all depends on what he wants.

“I’ve been telling him to sign for Chelsea. In the end, everything depends on him, he is very young, with a lot of experience. I think he will be a great player.”

Spurs Web Opinion

While the release clause makes this deal relatively straightforward to complete, by all accounts, the winger is likely to demand a huge salary to sign on the dotted line, which is why I suspect that Tottenham would have already started looking at other alternatives.

Joe Rodon sends message to Spurs fans after £10m transfer

Description

Joe Rodon has taken to social media to send a classy message after sealing his Tottenham exit, thanking Spurs fans for their support over the last four years.

Joe Rodon didn’t quite hit the heights at Spurs

Rodon arrived with a big reputation from Swansea four years ago but he never quite managed to get a consistent run in the starting eleven under any of the managers he had at the North London club.

The centre-back had loan spells at Rennes and Leeds during the last two seasons and particularly impressed in the latter, emerging as a mainstay in Daniel Farke’s backline.

However, the 26-year-old and his teammates could not quite do enough to help the Yorkshire club bounce straight back up to the Premier League as they were defeated in the playoff final by Southampton.

Joe Rodon joins Leeds in £10m transfer

The Wales international has now sealed a permanent £10m move to Elland Road and will have a second bite at the cherry at helping Leeds get back to the top flight.

MORE SPURS STORIES

After finalising the move, the defender took to Instagram to admit that he thoroughly enjoyed sharing the dressing room with his Spurs teammates and thanked the fans for their support.

He wrote: ‘A huge thank you to everyone at Tottenham. It was a pleasure to play for the club with such great teammates and I would like to thank the fans for the support they showed me throughout my time here. Now it’s time for a new adventure!’

Spurs Web Opinion

Perhaps if one or two small things had gone differently, Rodon might have ended up playing a lot more matches for Tottenham.

The centre-back is clearly a class act and I am sure we speak for all Spurs fans when we say that we wish the Welshman plenty of success over the rest of his career.

Report: Tottenham 'will try again' to hijack Arsenal deal for 22

Description

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Tottenham Hotspur have not yet given up on their pursuit of Riccardo Calafiori.

Arsenal are favourites to land Riccardo Calafiori

The report backs up what we have heard over recent days, naming Arsenal and Chelsea as the two clubs who are currently leading the race for Calafiori’s signature.

It is revealed that Bologna were initially demanding €40m for the centre-back but they have now decided to accept no less than €50m, particularly since Basel are owed 50 per cent of the transfer fee.

The outlet states that it appears to be a matter of time before one of the Gunners or Blues come forward with a €50m bid, with the Serie A club currently waiting for such an offer to arrive.

It is explained that the lure of the Premier League and the higher salary package may be too hard for the Italy international to resist, even though he is happy at Bologna.

This comes as Fabrizio Romano reports that Arsenal have agreed personal terms with Calafiori and are in talks with Bologna to get a deal done this summer.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Spurs have not given up on Calafiori

Gazzetta reveal that Tottenham tried to sign Calafiori ‘behind closed doors’ in January but were unsuccessful in their pursuit.

It is asserted that Lilywhites remain keen on securing the defender and ‘will try again’ to sign him but they face an uphill task as Enzo Maresca and Mikel Arteta have both ‘fallen in love’ with the player.

In addition, Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid have also allegedly explored a deal for the versatile defender, with the publication adding that the chances of Calafiori departing Renato Dall’Ara Stadium remain ‘very high’.

Spurs Web Opinion

Based on this report, it seems like the race for Calafiori’s signature is far from over, even though Arsenal and Chelsea have now expressed the most concrete interest.

However, I would be extremely surprised if Tottenham push ahead with a move for the Italian as it would make little sense for the club to spend over £40m on a backup centre-back.

Italy legend implies Spurs would not be the 'ideal' move for 22

Description

Legendary Italy defender Marco Materazzi has said that joining Arsenal would be the ideal move for Riccardo Calafiori at this stage of his career.

Riccardo Calafiori was linked with Tottenham

Calafiori has come on leaps and bounds over the last 12 months, proving an instant hit at Bologna following his move from Basel last summer.

The 22-year-old forced himself into Italy’s starting eleven on the back of his impressive season and he did not disappoint on the big stage, delivering solid displays for the Azzurri at the Euros.

The versatile centre-back, who is also capable of operating as a left-back, has been heavily linked with a move to Spurs all summer, with several outlets previously naming Tottenham as Juventus’ main competitor for the player (La Gazzetta dello Sport).

Arsenal look favourites to sign Calafiori

However, over the past couple of days, Arsenal have emerged as the front-runners to land Calafiori, with the Gunners being backed to use their good relationship with Bologna to get the deal over the line (Fabrizio Romano).

MORE SPURS STORIES

Romano also added this week that Arsenal have agreed personal terms with Calafiori and are now locked in negotiations with Bologna for the signing.

Materazzi has now endorsed the proposed move to the Emirates for the Italian defender, backing the youngster to thrive at Arsenal.

When quizzed about Calafiori’s future, the Inter legend told Sport Mediaset: “He had an incredible championship. And, if he leaves Bologna, he must make the right choice.

“Either he goes with Thiago Motta (to Juventus), otherwise I read about Arsenal. The Premier League is a different kind of football. But (Arsenal) could be the ideal team for him.”

Spurs Web Opinion

It does seem like Tottenham have pulled out of the race for Calafiori after the competition for the Italian intensified due to his performances at the Euros.

That is understandable as Spurs would not want to be spending £40m or more on a backup central defender.
