Description

Spurs announced in early June that Tanganga alongside Dier, Perisic and Sessegnon, would be leaving the club upon the expiry of their deals. It now appears Tanganga has agreed to his first permanent contract outside of Tottenham.

Tanganga impressed at Millwall last season

Japhet Tanganga broke into the Spurs first team back in 2019/20 in some style as Jose Mourinho threw the then 20-year-old into the starting XI against Liverpool in the Premier League.

Although Tanganga’s debut made a lasting impression on people at Spurs which led to him integrating into the first team for the next few seasons, injuries continuously fell at unfortunate times for the defender.

Japhet’s hard luck continued this season as he joined Augsburg but yet more injuries meant the deal was terminated in January, where Tanganga then left on another loan, this time to Millwall.

Millwall are close to tying down Tanganga to a deal

MORE SPURS STORIES

Luca Bendoni on Saturday (6/7/24) reported that Millwall were so impressed with the Englishman’s six months with them, that they are now set to sign the 25-year-old on a free transfer following Spurs letting him go.

Bendoni claimed that a deal will be signed in the coming hours and it’s an agreement that will see the former Tottenham defender stay at Millwall for two years, with the option of extending for a further year.

Spurs Web Opinion

Due to his impressive appearances and crucial role in keeping Millwall up, it’s not a surprise that Tanganga became a favourite among fans at The Den, and perhaps moving permanently to somewhere where he is valued and appreciated is exactly what the player needs.

Standout performances over the years against Liverpool and Manchester City in particular displayed the quality Tanganga has and hopefully, if he avoids further injuries, he’ll be able to reach that level with Millwall in the coming seasons.

According to Gianluca Di Mazrio, AC Milan have now presented their opening offer to Tottenham Hotspur for Emerson Royal.

AC Milan want to sign Emerson Royal

The journalist says that Milan identified the Spurs star as their number-one target for the right-back role a long time ago, with the Brazilian said to fit the profile that new boss Paulo Fonseca is looking to add to his squad.

It is explained that the Serie A side have shown ‘the most determination and insistence in recent weeks’ over a deal to bring the former Real Betis man to the San Siro.

However, it appears Milan will have to up their bid in order to land Tottenham’s right-back.

AC Milan submit first official bid for Emerson

In recent hours, Milan have allegedly presented Tottenham with an official offer for Emerson but Di Marzio adds that the bid is a long way short of the €20m that the Premier League club have requested for the player.

MORE SPURS STORIES

The Sky Italia reporter adds that the next week or ten days are expected to prove ‘decisive’ for this proposed transfer.

This update comes a few days after Gazzetta dello Sport revealed that Emerson has already agreed personal terms on a five-year deal with the Rossoneri and that the Italian side are hopeful of concluding the deal in a matter of days.

Spurs Web Opinion

If the bid is a long way short of Tottenham’s asking price, it will likely be turned down as Emerson is not going to have any shortage of suitors this summer.

However, at the same time, the Lilywhites would also be keen to complete a sale as quickly as possible.

Description

Tottenham have confirmed that three of their September fixtures will be shown live on TV for UK audiences, with some big matches coming up for the Lilywhites at the start of the season.

Tottenham are back in action and back on TV

Given Spurs’ poor results in the final couple of months of last season, Ange Postecolgou will know that the side has to start strong in order to silence doubters and to instil belief in the players that they can do something special.

The preparation for the new campaign has now officially begun, with the majority of the squad reporting for their first day of training on Saturday.

Three Spurs fixtures selected for September broadcast

Tottenham will begin their campaign with a difficult trip to the King Power Stadium to take on last season’s Championship title winners Leicester City on August 19.

They then host Everton at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium just five days later before going into a tough run of fixtures in September, where they take on Newcastle, Arsenal, Brentford and Manchester United.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Spurs have now announced that their trip to St James’ Park, the North London Derby at home and the trip to Old Trafford has been chosen for TV broadcast.

Spurs Web Opinion

These three games could well set the tone for our season.

A couple of wins from these would instil the players with a lot of confidence and give them the belief that they can challenge the best sides in the division.

Description

According to Estadio Deportivo, Real Betis believe that time is on their side in their pursuit of Giovani Lo Celso as Tottenham will be forced to drop their asking price later in the summer.

Real Betis want to sign Giovani Lo Celso

The report backs up what we have heard from various sources over the last few weeks, stating that Betis are ready to play the long game to bring Lo Celso back to the club, five years on from his departure.

The La Liga side have maintained ‘informal contacts’ with the Tottenham man about a potential summer transfer, making it clear that they want him back.

In fact, it is said that the Seville-based club have identified the midfielder as their priority target and they believe there is a deal to be done since the player has just a year left on his contract.

Betis will wait for a Lo Celso discount

However, it is pointed out that the La Liga side will wait as they first have to free up space in their wage bill by moving some players on.

MORE SPURS STORIES

The report claims that Lo Celso is willing to move back to his former club and Betis are of the belief that time is very much on their side.

With the 28-year-old free to sign a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs in January, Manuel Pellegrini’s men are of the opinion that Tottenham will get desperate and agree to a more favourable deal later in the window.

Spurs Web Opinion

Betis’ entire strategy seems to depend on the belief that Lo Celso has his heart set on a return to Estadio Benito Villamarin.

I can see another big Italian or Spanish club entering the race and presenting a decent project to the midfielder, thus turning his head.

Description

The transfer window is now well and truly up and running for Tottenham Hotspur and according to reports, the club will now set their sights on bolstering their forward line.

Tottenham want a new forward this summer

While Spurs fans were getting a little nervous last week about the club’s inactivity in the transfer market, the Lilywhites pulled off a major coup a few days ago, swiftly agreeing a deal to sign Archie Gray, who is thought of by many as one of the most talented young English players in the game.

Many were caught off guard by the speed at which Tottenham pulled off the transfer, with the club swooping to agree a £40m deal with Leeds United after the player’s transfer to Brentford fell through in the final stages (The Athletic).

However, Spurs still have plenty of work to do in the market and according to BBC Sport, the club have now set their sights on strengthening their forward line.

What is Tottenham’s next big transfer?

The report says that Ange Postecoglou is prioritising adding more firepower upfront and Spurs are now working to bring an attacker through the door as their ‘next big transfer’.

MORE SPURS STORIES

However, the publication adds that any further incomings would depend on player sales.

Tottenham are trying to move on the likes of Sergio Reguilon and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg to make space in the wage bill for new arrivals.

Spurs Web Opinion

It will be really interesting to see if Tottenham prioritise a wide forward or an out-and-out centre-forward.

I personally think that they will spend relatively big on a wide player and look to sign a low-cost option such as Jonathan David to compete with Richarlison.

According to Tottenham insider Paul O’Keefe, Ange Postecoglou wants a couple of signings to arrive through the door within the next two to three weeks.

Postecoglou wants early Tottenham signings

We are now on the eve of pre-season, with some players expected to report to Hotspur Way for training on July 6 (Football.London).

The club pulled off a major coup earlier this week, with Archie Gray becoming the first big addition of the summer transfer window, with the young midfielder arriving on a £40m deal from Leeds United (The Guardian).

However, Spurs are far from done in the transfer window just yet, with the club needing reinforcements in a number of areas if they are to have legitimate aspirations of competing with the best sides in the division.

Tottenham pre-season is getting closer

According to O’Keefe, Postecoglou has made it clear to the club’s hierarchy that he wants signings to be completed swiftly so that the newcomers can have a pre-season with the squad.

MORE SPURS STORIES

The Spurs insider says that the Australian has asked for a couple of signings to be made within the next few weeks.

O’Keefe reveals that Postecoglou will link up with his coaching staff today (July 5) before the players start reporting for pre-season over the weekend.

Spurs Web Opinion

One would expect Tottenham’s transfer pursuits to accelerate once the Euros and Copa America come to an end.

Many of the club’s rumoured targets, including Eberechi Eze, Ivan Toney, Youssouf Fofana, Jonathan David and Conor Gallagher, are currently playing for their national sides.

Report: Spurs are happy to keep player if transfer talks fall through this summer

Description

BBC Sport report that Tottenham Hotspur would not mind keeping Emerson Royal at the club for one more season if talks with AC Milan fall through.

Emerson Royal to AC Milan links

Over the last few days, a number of Italian outlets have suggested that it is only a matter of time before we see Emerson holding up the AC Milan shirt.

This includes a recent update from Gazzetta dello Sport, who claimed that the Tottenham man has already agreed a five-year deal worth €3m per year with the Serie A side ahead of his move.

The report claimed that Spurs want €25m for the right-back while Milan are looking to complete a deal for €18-€20m including bonuses, with the publication adding that the Rossoneri are hopeful of finalising the deal in a matter of days so that they player can begin pre-season training with them on Monday.

Spurs are happy to keep Emerson if needed

However, this information has been contradicted by BBC Sport, who say that Tottenham are not willing to sell Emerson for a cut-price deal.

MORE SPURS STORIES

The report claims that Milan actually want to sign the Brazilian for a fee of just £10m, which Spurs have no intention of accepting.

In fact, it is said that Ange Postecoglou’s men are not actively pushing out the 25-year-old and be happy to keep him unless a big offer arrives this summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

I would be extremely surprised if Emerson is still at Tottenham next season, especially now that Archie Gray has arrived through the door.

However, £10m is nowhere near fair value for the right-back and there is no doubt that better offers will arrive later in the transfer window.

Report delivers some good news on Mikey Moore amid Spurs exit rumours

Description

According to Football.London’s Alasdair Gold, Tottenham wonderkid Mikey Moore will be handed plenty of opportunities to impress during pre-season.

Mikey Moore is the gem in Tottenham’s academy crown

Even though Moore is only 16 years of age, there is already plenty of excitement at Hotspur Way about the youngster’s potential, with the winger dominating the Under-18 Premier League last season.

The youngster made his senior bow for Tottenham towards the end of the 2023-24 season, becoming the youngest player to represent the club in Premier League history.

Moore also played a starring role for England’s Under-17s in the UEFA U-17 Euros this summer, proving the driving force behind their march to the quarterfinal, where they lost to Italy on penalties.

The teenager is quite highly sought after, with Borussia Dortmund, Manchester City and Manchester United all thought to have shown keen interest in luring him away from Hotpsur Way (Football Insider).

Postecoglou’s plans for Mikey Moore

Gold has now explained that the attacking midfielder will be ‘heavily involved’ in Tottenham’s pre-season friendlies over the next couple of months.

He reveals that Ange Postecoglou has plenty of belief in Moore and wants to give him every chance to impress in the upcoming matches ahead of the new campaign.

The journalist adds that the Spurs academy starlet is currently happy at the club and Tottenham hope that handing him minutes would be enough to convince him to snub any potential suitors.

Gold points out that while Moore has technically agreed his first professional contract with the Lilywhites, he will not be allowed to sign it until his 17th birthday on August 11, meaning that his future is not entirely locked down at the minute.

Spurs Web Opinion

Ange’s decision to give Moore minutes last season was likely intended to convince the youngster to sign a professional contract at Hotspur Way and one would expect Tottenham to do the same in pre-season as they simply cannot afford to lose a generational talent like the 16-year-old.

Alasdair Gold provides an update on Tottenham's Nico Willams pursuit

Description

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has said that Nico William’s high wages might prevent Tottenham Hotspur from pushing ahead with a move for the Athletic Club Bilbao star.

Tottenham are interested in Nico Williams

Over the course of the summer, several outlets have suggested that Tottenham are battling a whole host of Premier League sides for the services of Williams.

This includes a recent update by CaughtOffside, who claimed that the winger’s suitors are growing by the day, with Tottenham, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain all being admirers of the player.

The report alleged that those sides have now been joined in the race for the 21-year-old by both Arsenal and Chelsea, with the Gunners allegedly even willing to meet the player’s €58m (£49m) release clause.

Wages are a problem for Tottenham

Gold has now said that Tottenham absolutely ‘love’ Williams but they are aware that they would have to contend with quite a bit of competition for the player’s signature.

MORE SPURS STORIES

He explains that the Athletic Club star’s list of admirers have grown on the back of his impressive displays to the Euros.

Gold reveals that despite Williams’ £49m release clause, he earns a salary of £170,000 at San Mames and the clubs looking to sign him would have to offer him more than that.

As a result, the journalist suggests that Tottenham might decide to abandon their pursuit of the Spain international.

Spurs Web Opinion

Tottenham might have earmarked both Nico Williams and Riccardo Calafiori as targets ahead of the Euros but their displays in Germany have added several million to their price tag and attracted the attention of plenty of other suits, with Spurs thus having to call off their pursuits.

Report: Spurs slap £60 million price tag on player amid Saudi Arabian interest

Submitted by daniel on

Description

Despite 2023/24 being significantly better than the Brazilian’s previous season, it appears Tottenham are prepared to sell Richarlison, at the right price, and with Saudi Arabian clubs circling, money isn’t usually an issue.

Richarlison has had long-term interest from Saudi Arabia

Brazilian forward, Richarlison, arrived at Spurs from Everton, however, he suffered from a poor first season where the centre-forward played second fiddle to Harry Kane.

This season, with the responsibility of being the club’s first-choice striker, Richarlison has found form, bagging eleven goals in twenty-eight Premier League appearances, ten goals better than his worrying tally of one in the previous campaign. (TransferMarkt)

However, being Brazil and Tottenham’s number nine raises your public profile, with an incredible acrobatic goal in the World Cup in 2022 only thrusting Richarlison further into the limelight, which is likely to be a huge factor in the Saudi Arabian interest.

The Athletic confirmed back in May that Richarlison is catching the eye of multiple Saudi Arabian clubs, with any sale potentially earning Tottenham their money back on the striker.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Tottenham expect £60 million to sanction Richarlison’s exit

There has now been a new update on Tottenham’s striker moving to Saudi, despite Richarlison himself taking to Instagram a matter of weeks ago to state, ‘I will not be leaving England’. (Daily Mail)

Ben Jacobs on X posted that Richarlison does remain a target though for Saudi Arabian clubs and perhaps regardless of the player’s preference to stay in England, Tottenham are open to the sale.

Jacobs states that Al-Ittihad and Al-Hilal, who own fellow Brazilians, Malcom and Neymar Jr, are the two clubs who have discussed signing Richarlison. Tottenham have named their price for the ex-Watford striker as £60 million but are yet to receive any offers.

The update concluded by stating simply that Richarlison’s situation is ‘one to watch’ for this summer’s transfer window.

Spurs Web Opinion

The current situation between Tottenham and Richarlison is effectively a win-win as long as Saudi Arabian sides remain interested.

The Brazilian would likely still shine in Postecoglou’s system next season, although may have to compete with a newly signed striker that is rumoured to be on the cards. (Football.London)

If the right offer does arrive however, as in particular fashion of the Saudi Arabian sides, it will be an offer of huge financial value to Tottenham that fans would like to think will get re-invested into the squad ahead of next season.
