CaughtOffside have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur continue to have an eye on Albert Gudmundsson but they face competition from West Ham United and Inter Milan for the Genoa star.

Tottenham are keeping an eye on Albert Gudmundsson

While there had been a lot of speculation linking Gudmundsson with a move to Spurs earlier in the summer, things have gone quiet on that front over the last few weeks.

However, according to CaughtOffside, Tottenham very much remain in the hunt for the forward and have been joined by West Ham.

It is explained that Inter Milan are currently leading the race for the Iceland international but the two Premier League sides are not far behind.

Inter Milan are leading the race for Albert Gudmundsson

In fact, the report states that both London sides have reached out to Genoa recently and have indicated that they would be willing to make a move for the player.

MORE SPURS STORIES

The Nerazurri are currently said to be locked in negotiations over a deal for the forward, who is thought to be valued at around €30m-€35m.

The publication adds that the 27-year-old has also attracted some interest from Saudi Pro League sides.

Spurs Web Opinion

If Tottenham held a serious interest in Gudmundsson, they would have likely explored a deal for the forward while holding talks with Genoa regarding Djed Spence.

The fact that they did not do so suggests that the Iceland star is no longer a priority for the North London side.

Rumoured Tottenham target Jonathan David is being hailed in the Canadian press after the striker guided his nation to a 1-0 win over Peru.

Jonathan David is being linked with Tottenham

David’s time at Lille looks set to be up, with the striker, who is into the final year of his contract at the Stade Pierre Mauroy, expected to move to the Premier League this summer (Florian Plettenberg).

Tottenham have reportedly reached out to the 24-year-old regarding a summer transfer (Football Insider) but they are not the only English side to do so, with Man United, West Ham and Chelsea also thought to have made advances towards the player (Guardian).

On Tuesday, the Lille star showed just why he is so highly sought after, netting the only goal of the game as the Canadians emerged 1-0 winners over Peru in a Copa America group stage clash at Kansas City.

Jonathan David is impressing at Copa America

The media back in his home country were not only impressed by the forward’s brilliant finish but also by his work-rate and his all-round game.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Canadian Premier League wrote: “David executed well in his role especially on the defensive side of the game, making five tackles and an interception, also winning a team-high 10 duels and drawing five fouls.

“Plus, of course, he scored the winner with a fantastically composed finish. It was an all-around great performance, capped off with a moment that he’s been desperate for.”

Spurs Web Opinion

David seems like the type of forward that Ange likes leading the line for his team, with the 24-year-old capable of combining well with others and also being a tireless worker off the ball.

A move for the Lille star would make a lot more sense for Spurs than pursuing someone like Santiago Gimenez.

Description

Fabrizio Romano has said on his YouTube channel that despite suggestions to the contrary over recent weeks, Tottenham Hotspur are yet to make a move to sign Riccardo Calafiori.

Spurs have been linked with Riccardo Calafiori

If you have followed Spurs Web’s coverage, you would know that a number of Italian publications have been adamant over the last month or so that Tottenham are quite keen on taking Calafiori to N17, having been impressed by his displays for Bologna last season.

In fact, last week, Tutto Juve even suggested that Spurs have stepped up their pursuit of the centre-back in an effort to beat Juventus to his signature.

The report stated that the Lilywhites are ‘rushing towards’ the Italy international and had expressed a willingness to meet Bologna’s asking price of €40m-€45m (£33.7m-£38m) for the versatile defender.

Spurs have not made a move for Calafiori

However, the outlet backed up what we had heard from other sources by stating that the former Basel man is still leaning towards a move to the Bianconeri.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Interstingly, Romano has now contradicted those claims by stating that as things stand, Spurs are not contenders for Calafiori’s signature.

The journalist explained that while the Lilywhites are very attentive to the Italian market, they have not entered the conversation for the 22-year-old until now.

Spurs Web Opinion

One would have expected Tottenham to have tested the waters for Calafiori if they felt that the centre-back was open to a move to North London.

Perhaps Sprus are waiting until the Euros are over to enter into a potential bidding war for the Bologna star.

Description

Fabrizio Romano has said that as things stand, there is nothing advanced regarding Eberechi Eze’s future, with the attacking midfielder yet to make a decision on his next destination.

Spurs are serious about Ebereci Eze interest

Spurs fans cannot help but be excited about the growing speculation suggesting that Eze is one of Tottenham’s top targets this summer.

The 25-year-old is currently at the Euros with England but TBR Football claimed earlier this week that Spurs had now reached out to the player regarding the transfer and that the Palace star had expressed his intention to move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer.

Meanwhile, it was asserted by talkSPORT a couple of days ago that the Lilywhties are even willing to meet the former QPR star’s release clause, which stands at around £60m, to bring him to the club.

Fabrizio Romano says nothing has changed on Eze’s future

However, Spurs fans should not be getting carried away just yet if Romano’s latest update is to be believed, with the journalist reporting that Palace are still very much hoping to hang on to the player.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Romano on his YouTube channel: “For Eberechi Eze, I see many questions coming from you guys but at the moment what I’m hearing is that there is still nothing at advanced stages.

“Crystal Palace are still hoping for him to stay. The release clause is also in his contract, so it will depend on the release clause. But at the moment it’s still not something happening today it’s still not something imminent.”

Spurs Web Opinion

We might have to wait until after the Euros to see how this deal progresses.

I am not getting my hopes up just yet as I would not be surprised if the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City also enter the race for the 25-year-old’s signature.

Description

According to Football Insider, Tottenham Hotspur are ready to secure the services of Monaco star Youssouf Fofana if the midfielder’s talks with AC Milan collapse.

Spurs have been linked with Yousseff Fofana

Fofana has been one of the most consistent midfielders in Ligue 1 over the past few years and the 25-year-old has come on as a substitute in two of France’s three group matches at the Euros this summer.

His future has been the subject of much speculation over recent weeks, with Corriere Torino (via Sport Witness) previously reporting that Tottenham are one of several clubs eyeing a move for the player.

The report said that since the Les Blues star has just a year left to run on his contract with Monaco, the Ligue 1 club would be willing to sell him for around €20m-€30m (£17m-£25.3m) this summer.

Milan leading the race for Yousseff Fofana

Football Insider have now said that Spurs have registered their interest in Fofana, with the Frenchman seen by Ange Postecoglou’s men as someone who can add strength and experience to their midfield.

MORE SPURS STORIES

However, the Lilywhites are currently trailing Milan in the race, with the Rossoneri currently locked in talks with Monaco over a deal.

The publication adds that Spurs are now waiting in the background and watching proceedings, with the Premier League side ready to pounce on Fofana if the Milan deal collapses.

Spurs Web Opinion

One wonders why Tottenham would be waiting in the background instead of going on the offensive for Fofana, given that they could quite easily financially outmuscle Milan.

Perhaps that is a sign that the Monaco star is not at the top of Postecoglou’s wishlist.

Description

According to Tuttosport, Arsenal are now ready to battle their North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur for the services of Bologna centre-back Riccardo Calafiori.

Calafiori is starring at the European Championships

Calafiori’s list of admirers seems to be growing by the day as the 22-year-old continues to impress at the Euros for Italy.

It was previously reported that Tottenham and Juventus were at the front of the queue to land the versatile defender, with Tutto Juve claiming last week that the Bianconeri were the favourites.

This was because while Spurs were ready to accelerate their approach and willing to meet Bologna’s asking price of around €40m-€45m (£33.7m-£38m), the player’s preference is thought to be reunited with Thiago Motta in Turin.

Arsenal enter race for Riccardo Calafiori

TuttoSport have now claimed that Arsenal are now ready to provide competition to Tottenham, with the Gunners also said to have identified Calafiori as a target.

The report states that Mikel Arteta’s men are now ‘ready to break in’ to the race for the defender’s signature, thus complicating matters.

It is revealed that Bologna would only let the youngster leave if there is a ‘monstrous offer’ this summer and the operation will prove difficult to pull off for Juve since the two Premier League sides have more resources than them.

Spurs Web Opinion

Bologna are playing the waiting game, knowing that Calafiori’s value is continuing to go up with each impressive display he delivers on the big stage in Germany.

One would expect more top clubs to enter the race for the 22-year-old over the next couple of weeks.

Report: Tottenham have launched an offer for 23

Description

According to the AS, Tottenham Hotspur have now stepped up their pursuit of Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia, with the North London club said to have submitted a tempting offer to the youngster.

Spurs are on the lookout for a new goalkeeper

Garcia played a key role in helping Espanyol win promotion back to La Liga last season and the shot-stopper’s displays have seemingly caught the attention of several clubs.

It was reported by Grada 3 a little over a week ago that Tottenham and Brighton had both expressed an interest in the 23-year-old and that the two Premier League clubs could be set to battle it out for the player.

Spurs currently have Guglielmo Vicario, Fraser Forster, Alfie Whiteman, and Brandon Austin in their goalkeeping ranks at Hotspur Way.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Tottenham’s advances for Joan Garcia

AS have now also credited Spurs with an interest in Garcia, stating that among the various clubs interested in the goalkeeper, the Lilywhites are ‘temping him the most’.

In fact, the report asserts that the Premier League side have ‘already launched a specific proposal’ to sign the Spain Under-21 international.

The publication adds that Espanyol would want a fee close to Garcia’s €25m release clause to do business.

Spurs Web Opinion

Tottenham may be future-proofing their goalkeeping ranks, with the upcoming season potentially being Fraser Forster’s last campaign at the club.

However, I do not think the Lilywhites would consider paying around £20m for Guglielmo Vicario’s understudy.

Fabrizio Romano provides Alexander Isak update amid reports of Tottenham bid

Description

According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea are not expected to make an offer for Newcastle striker Alexander Isak, who is rumoured to be on Tottenham’s radar.

Alexander Isak is one of the best strikers in England

Isak has been a massive hit at St James’ Park since swapping Real Sociedad for Newcastle two years ago and the striker has quickly gained a reputation as one of the most feared marksmen in the Premier League.

Over the last few months, a number of outlets have suggested that the Sweden international is one of the names on Ange Postecoglou’s striker wishlist (The Athletic).

Football Insider even claimed two weeks ago that Tottenham may see Isak as the ideal ‘marquee’ signing for this summer and would be ready to break their transfer record to take him off Newcastle’s hands.

The publication asserted that the Lilywhites could soon be set to make a ‘huge bid’ to test the Magpies’ resolve.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Chelsea have not made a move for Isak

Romano has now taken to social media to state that although Chelsea like Isak, they are currently not working on a deal for the centre-forward.

This is because the Blues consider Newcastle’s asking price for the 24-year-old to be too high at the moment.

The journalist adds that Eddie Howe’s men consider Isak a ‘key player’ and that they plan to keep him at the club unless they receive a ‘crazy proposal’.

Spurs Web Opinion

The fact that Tottenham are not making any advances towards any strikers makes me doubt that the club might have something big up their sleeve.

However, I cannot see Spurs being able to afford Isak unless they potentially get a fee of around £50m for Richarlison.

Report: How much Spurs would have to pay for Jacob Ramsey after Villa reject first offer

Submitted by daniel on

Description

According to The Times, Tottenham Hotspur would have to pay a substantial fee to sign Jacob Ramsey this summer, with Aston Villa having no intention of selling the midfielder at a discount.

Spurs have serious interest in Jacob Ramsey

Tottenham are thought to hold a serious interest in Ramsey, with Alasdair Gold stating earlier this week that the interest is being driven by the club’s technical director Johan Lange, who swapped Villa Park for the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last year.

However, Gold explained that the feeling at Hotspur Way is that the Villans are reluctant to sell the midfielder.

It then emerged on Wednesday that Spurs’ opening offer for the England Under-21 international had been turned down.

Express journalist Matt Maher was the first to break this news, revealing that Tottenham had submitted an offer of £20m plus Giovani Lo Celso for Ramsey, which was not enough to persuade Villa.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Aston Villa want at least £40m to sell Jacob Ramsey

The Times have now also backed up the same information, stating that the opening offer from Ange Postecoglou’s men has been sent back by the Midlands club.

The publication asserts that since Ramsey has three years left on his contract, it would take a bid of around £40m-£50m to prise him away from Villa Park.

Spurs Web Opinion

If Tottenham did offer £20m plus Lo Celso for Ramsey, it means that Spurs were already willing to go up to around £35m.

So if The Times’ information is to be believed, a slightly improved offer may be enough for the Lilywhites to clinch the deal.

Report: Crystal Palace are working on a deal to sign Spurs

Description

According to Fabrizio Romano, Crystal Palace have now stepped up their efforts to beat Tottenham Hotspur to the signature of Sunderland midfielder Jobe Bellingham, brother of Real Madrid star, Jude.

Spurs were linked with Jobe Bellingham

Jobe is stylistically and positionally very similar to his brother, being an attacking midfielder by trade but versatile enough to operate in a deeper role or even as a forward.

The 18-year-old had an exceptional 2023-24 season after swapping St Andrew’s for the Stadium of Light last summer and his performances in the North East have allegedly caught Tottenham’s attention.

It was reported by TEAMtalk earlier this month that Ange Postecoglou’s club had reached out to the teenager to speak about a potential summer switch to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Crystal Palace are trying to win the race for Bellingham

However, if Romano’s latest update is to be believed, Palace have now made advances towards Bellingham, with the Eagles keen to take the player to Selhurst Park.

The journalist says that the midfielder is one of the main targets for the South London club, who are currently working on the details of the transfer.

However, Romano adds that other clubs are also keen on Bellingham, with the player yet to make a final decision on his next destination.

Spurs Web Opinion

One would expect Tottenham to get involved in the race for Jobe but the midfielder might perhaps be leaning towards a move to a club like Palace or a club in the lower end of the Premier League in order to give himself the best chance of playing regular first-team football next season.
