Report makes exciting claim about Spurs and Federico Chiesa - Man United also keen - The Spurs Web
Description

Federico Chiesa has just one year left on his current contract with Juventus, which has alerted both Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United to the situation as they look to secure a cheap deal for the Italian winger.

Spurs and Man United linked with Federico Chiesa

It is widely believed Tottenham are in the market for a new winger to add to their roster this summer as Ange Postecoglou looks to bolster his attacking options.

Spurs may already have Heung-min Son, Dejan Kulusevski, and Brennan Johnson, but they have already extended Timo Werner’s stay in North London for another season.

Still, the Lilywhites are linked with a number of wide players as we head into the summer, but Federico Chiesa links have only just started to resurface again.

Last week, Fabrizio Romano claimed Juventus would be willing to offload Chiesa this summer, with Spurs interested in the Italy international.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Chiesa could be cheap for Spurs and Man United

Now, fresh reports out of Italy suggest Spurs are not alone in that pursuit, with Manchester United also keen, and a cut-price deal could be on the cards.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport (relayed by Il Bianconero), Tottenham, Manchester United, and even Bayern Munich all have Chiesa on their radars this summer. His “evolving situation” is expected to become a lot clearer in the coming weeks, once Euro 2024 is over.

TuttoSport back this up by claiming Chiesa’s future at Juventus is currently “uncertain,” and the chances of him getting a new contract are “gradually fading.”

Now, the chances of him leaving Turin this summer are “growing,” and those tracking Chiesa hope they can get a bargain.

Spurs Web Opinion

With Michael Olise signing for Bayern Munich, you’d imagine Eberechi Eze is now off the market for Crystal Palace.

I wouldn’t grumble at Spurs opting to sign Chiesa instead, so it will be interesting to see if this one comes to fruition, as he would be a lot cheaper anyway.

'A good fit' - Teddy Sheringham names the perfect striker for Spurs to sign this summer - The Spurs Web
Description

According to Tottenham Hotspur legend Teddy Sheringham, the club should be looking to sign Ivan Toney this summer, as he would lead the line and allow James Maddison and Heung-min Son to flourish.

Spurs have been linked with Ivan Toney

Tottenham are in need of a new striker this summer. After the sale of Harry Kane last summer, it was down to Heung-min Son and Richarlison to lead the line for Ange Postecoglou‘s side.

The pair bagged 28 league goals between them, but more is needed, and it is thought the signing of a new number 9 can help take Spurs to the next level.

The Lilywhites have been linked to Ivan Toney for quite some time now, and it appears the Brentford man will finally be on the move in the coming transfer window (GiveMeSport).

MORE SPURS STORIES

Ivan Toney can help Son and Maddison flourish

Speaking to Poker Sites, Sheringham has explained why the England striker would be the ideal fit for Tottenham’s attacking style, and how he can help players like Son and James Maddison improve, too.

He said: “Tottenham need a centre-forward. They need a goalscorer – they can’t keep putting Heung-min Son up there because he’s not a proper striker, he’s a man who plays off a striker like he used to do with Harry Kane. James Maddison needs a focal point to play off as well.

“I think Ivan Toney would be a good fit for Tottenham – he could probably go to any of Chelsea, Arsenal or Tottenham.

“I’d like to see Spurs get him, because he’s got the leadership qualities of a number nine that would be very important for any of those teams. He leads the line so well for Brentford and always troubles his marker.”

Spurs Web Opinion

I’ve been back and forth on the idea of us signing Toney for a while now, but at the end of the day, if he is the man we choose to lead the line I would be happy enough.

He’s a proven goalscorer, he can fit into our system well, and he wouldn’t break the bank either.

Emerson Royal has admitted that he is open to the prospect of joining AC Milan but insisted that the transfer has been far from finalised yet.

Emerson to AC Milan seems to be gathering pace

Over the last couple of weeks, plenty of Italian outlets have made it sound like it is only a matter of time before Emerson swaps the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for the San Siro (Gazzetta dello Sport).

However, Football.London’s Alasdair Gold insisted on Thursday that the deal is far from done, explaining that Milan had only spoken to the right-back and had not had any concrete negotiations with Spurs.

The journalist explained that the 25-year-old’s priority is to get regular game time next season, whether that be at Tottenham or elsewhere.

He also revealed that apart from Milan, Flamengo had also expressed an interest in signing the Brazil international while several Saudi clubs are also keeping an eye on his situation.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Emerson says AC Milan have contacted Tottenham

Emerson has now broken the silence over his future, admitting that he would be happy to join the Rossoneri if the move materialises.

When asked about the reports linking him with a switch to the Serie A giants, the Tottenham man said on Andre Hernan’s YouTube channel: “The truth is that I still don’t have anything defined. Obviously, to know that Milan is in conversation with the club [Spurs], they are looking for information on me.

“For me, it is very gratifying because Milan is a team known for having Brazilian players, right. We know there have been some great Brazilians to have played for them. Let’s wait and see what’s going to happen.”

Spurs Web Opinion

While it is clear that Emerson wants to make the move, the big question is whether Milan would be willing to meet Tottenham’s asking price.

At the moment, it seems like the Rossoneri are also exploring other right-back options and have not made up their mind yet.

Report: Man United ready to abandon pursuit of defender linked with Spurs - The Spurs Web
Description

According to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth, Manchester United are ready to call off their pursuit of rumoured Tottenham target Jarrad Branthwaite after seeing their opening offer rejected by Everton.

Spurs and Man United both like Jarrad Branthwaite

Branthwaite is widely viewed as one of the best young centre-backs in English football on the back of his stellar debut Premier League campaign last term.

With Everton’s financial issues well documented, some clubs may sense an opportunity to prise the 21-year-old away from Goodison Park this summer.

That is exactly what happened according to reports, with various outlets stating over recent months that the Toffees were bracing themselves for offers as Spurs and Man Utd circled over the defender (Daily Mail).

An offer did eventually come from United, with The Mirror revealing earlier this week that the Red Devils bid £35m plus £8m in add-ons for Branthwaite.

MORE SPURS STORIES

However, the offer was allegedly sent back by Sean Dyche’s men, who told United that they would have to pay a whopping £70m to sign the England international.

Man United are ready to move on from Branthwaite

Sheth has now revealed that Erik Ten Hag’s side will not return with an improved offer for Branthwaite and are now ready to turn their attention to other alternatives.

The journalist said Sky Sports live blog: “Manchester United won’t be drawn into a long-running saga over the potential signing of Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite.

“It’s understood United are unlikely to go back in with an improved offer unless there are assurances Everton will reduce their asking price.

“If United feel there is no room for negotiation, they will quickly move on to other targets – with Lille’s Leny Yoro thought to be high on their list.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Tottenham’s interest in Branthwaite would have likely ended the moment they signed Radu Dragusin in January. Spurs were never going to pay more than £50m for a fourth-choice centre-back.

Heung-min Son makes an admission about his career that Spurs fans will love - The Spurs Web
Description

Son Heung-min has admitted that signing for Tottenham back in 2015 was one of the best moments of his professional career so far.

Heung-min Son is already a Tottenham legend

Son is now not just Spurs’ captain and their best player but he is now also the face of the club, having been at the North London side for nine years.

The 31-year-old is already considered to be one of the club’s biggest modern-day legends and his stature will only grow further if he spends a few more years at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Few players over the course of the club’s history have been as loved by the supporters as the South Korean is and that stems from the fact that he too seems to have a lot of affection for the club, which is rare to see in modern-day football.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Son loves playing for his beloved Spurs

Just a little over a week ago, the forward rubbished the rumours linking him with a move away from N17, admitting that he is ‘uncomfortable’ with the speculation and insisting that he has no plans of leaving the club anytime soon (The Mirror).

In an interview with Tatler Asia, Son was asked what has been the best moment of his career so far and his answer would be music to the ears of Tottenham fans.

He said: “When I played for the [South Korean] national team and when I joined Hamburger SV for the first time. And, of course, when I joined Tottenham Hotspur.”

Spurs Web Opinion

It is very very rare in modern-day football for a player to have such a special connection with a club as Son has with Tottenham.

Spurs fans should cherish every moment of seeing the 31-year-old don the famous Lilywhite shirt.

Description

According to Inews, Tottenham Hotspur and several other Premier League clubs have been alerted after Lille put up Jonathan David for sale.

Jonathan David looks to be on the way out of Lille

David has been one of the most prolific strikers across Ligue 1 over the last few years but with the centre-forward having just one year left on his contract, he is expected to leave the club this summer.

Last week, Lille president Olivier Letang confirmed that the 24-year-old would be allowed to leave Stade Pierre Mauroy this summer if the right kind of offer is received (Fabrizio Romano).

It has now been revealed by Inews that the French club would be willing to sell the centre-forward for just £25m this summer.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Spurs and Man United are interested in David

This news is said to have alerted several English clubs, with the report stating that Spurs could battle the likes of West Ham United, Aston Villa and Man Utd for the player.

Out of these sides, it is United who are credited with the most serious interest in David, with the Red Devils said to be keen on adding more firepower to their frontline.

The publication adds that the Canadian international ranks high on their striker shortlist, with many at the Manchester club, including incoming sporting director Dan Ashworth, thought to be a fan of the Lille star.

Spurs Web Opinion

I would much rather see Spurs sign David rather than spend big on the likes of Santiago Gimenez.

However, I suspect that Tottenham have their sights on Ivan Toney and are waiting for Brentford to bring down their asking price.

Description

According to GiveMeSport, the negotiations between Tottenham and Genoa over a deal for Djed Spence are progressing nicely, with the transfer expected to be finalised sooner rather than later.

Djed Spence could be on his way back to Genoa

The report backs up what we have heard from other sources over recent weeks by stating that rather than activating the £8.4m option to buy Spence permanently, Genoa are determined to knock a few million off the price.

That is why they have begun talks with Tottenham, with the negotiations expected to come to a conclusion soon.

This is because there is said to be a willingness from all three parties to strike an agreement after Ange Postecoglou decided that the 23-year-old is not part of his plans at Hotspur Way.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Djed Spence could be sold very soon

GiveMeSprot adds that Spence will complete his transfer to the Luigi Ferraris Stadium in the ‘coming weeks’ and bring down the curtain on his short Tottenham career.

The negotiations between the Italian side and the Premier League outfit are ‘expected to be successful’, with an agreement now nearing.

Djed Spence to Genoa could be one to keep an eye on over the coming days and weeks.

Spurs Web Opinion

This update will not come as a surprise to many as it is clear that Tottenham are in a hurry to offload a lot of their deadwood so that they can make space in the squad for new arrivals.

One would expect Emerson Royal, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, and Giovani Lo Celso to quickly follow Spence out of the door over the next few weeks.

Description

According to GiveMeSport, Wolves expect offers to soon arrive for Max Kilman after both Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United expressed an interest in the centre-back.

Spurs are interested in Max Kilman from Wolves

Earlier this week, Tottenham insider Paul O’Keefe revealed on the Last World On Spurs podcast that the Lilywhites are keeping an eye on Kilman.

The update might have come as a surprise to many Spurs fans as the Wolves star had not been linked with a move to the North London club since last summer.

Battle with Manchester United?

GiveMeSport have now also credited Spurs with an interest in Kilman but they state that Ange Postecoglou’s men could face competition for the player from Man Utd.

MORE SPURS STORIES

The Red Devils have allegedly turned their attention to the 27-year-old after being priced out of a move for Everton star Jarrad Branthwaite.

The report asserts that Wolves are now bracing themselves for offers for Kilman and value their captain at around £50m.

The publication adds that while Tottenham are fans of the Englishman, particularly given the fact that he is left-footed, it is unclear if they would be willing to meet the asking price.

Spurs Web Opinion

Kilman is not just left-footed and experienced in the Premier League but he is also homegrown, which would be a huge boost to Tottenham.

However, I do not see Spurs spending £50m on a fourth-choice centre-back and I also do not think the Wolves star would be keen on making the move to North London without any assurances over game time.

Report: Spurs might miss out on £55m midfielder due to poor relations with club - The Spurs Web
Description

According to GiveMeSport, Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing Georgiy Sudakov this summer but may find it difficult to pull the deal off due to their poor relationship with Shakhtar Donetsk.

Tottenham are interested in Sudakov this summer

Sudakov is seen by many as the next big superstar to emerge from Ukranian football, with the 21-year-old scoring 10 times and registering six assists across all competitions last season (Transfermarkt).

The midfielder, who is a number eight by trade but can operate in a deeper role, is thought to be attracting interest from a number of sides, including Spurs.

GiveMeSport points out that Ange Postecoglou is looking to add more firepower to the middle of the park and has now set his sites on the Ukrainian international.

However, Spurs are not thought to be the only ones eyeing a move for Sudakov, who is also alleged to be on the radars of Arsenal, Liverpool and Napoli.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Spurs have a bad relationship with Shakhtar Donetsk

The report says that the midfielder can be signed for a fee of around €65m (£55m) but Tottenham face one major roadblock in pushing the deal through.

The North London club’s relationship with Shakhtar is quite poor after the latter accused the former of taking advantage of the ongoing Ukraine war to sign Manor Solomon on a free transfer.

The publication adds that if Spurs are desperate to land Sudakov, some form of reconciliation with Shakhtar will be needed first.

Spurs Web Opinion

I cannot see Shakhtar being too keen on doing business with Tottenham after what happened with Solomon, especially when Sudakov is of interest to so many clubs around Europe.

Report claims Tottenham can sign attacker for just £17m this summer - The Spurs Web
Description

The print edition of Correio da Manha (as relayed by Sport Witness) have claimed that Tottenham could be offered the chance to re-sign Marcus Edwards at a huge discount, and the Premier League club are tempted to do so.

Tottenham are tempted to re-sign Marcus Edwards

Over the last few weeks, several Portuguese outlets have talked up the chances of Spurs making a move to re-sign Edwards and the latest report on the matter has come from Correio da Manha.

The report points out that Spurs are keen to ensure they have enough homegrown and club-trained players in the squad for next season, which is one of the main reasons they are plotting a move for their academy graduate.

It is alleged that Ange Postecoglou’s men see the Sporting Lisbon winger as the ‘best option’ to sort out the home-grown player issue, while the player’s ‘wish to go back home’ also makes the deal easier.

Spurs could get Edwards for just £17m

The publication backs up what has already been confirmed by other sources, stating that the Lilywhites have a 35 per cent sell-on clause on Edwards and would thus be able to sign him for a discounted fee.

MORE SPURS STORIES

In fact, it is asserted that Tottenham might only need to pay around €20m (£17m) to take the 25-year-old back to North London.

It remains to be seen whether Spurs pounce on that opportunity.

Spurs Web Opinion

The jury is out on whether Edwards is good enough to be a regular starter for a top-four Premier League side but there is no doubt that he would be a decent squad option and one can see why Spurs would be tempted by a cut-price deal for the winger.

The biggest question is, why not just promote a player from the U21s instead? Then you can spend big money on a starting XI homegrown player like Eze or Gallagher.
