Description

Recent reports have stated that Tottenham Hotspur are looking to finalise a deal for Tyler Dibling as soon as the transfer window opens.

Right from the winter window until now, Tottenham Hotspur have maintained their interest in Southampton’s Tyler Dibling.

Earlier in their pursuit of the youngster, Southampton were said to have slapped a £50 million asking price on Dibling.

However, it was recently revealed that Spurs are confident they can negotiate a lower fee for Dibling, aiming to finalise a deal in the region of £30-35 million.

Tottenham looking to move fast to secure Tyler Dibling

Fresh reports from GIVEMESPORT now state that Spurs are looking to move fast to secure the signing of DIibling, with the Lilywhites looking to quickly finalise the deal for the youngster in the off-season.

The publication has also revealed that Tottenham are aiming to beat Manchester United in the race to sign the youngster.

Knowing they have competition for his signature, Spurs are attempting to move the quickest of any interested side and could accelerate a move for the former Chelsea prospect once the transfer window finally opens.

MORE SPURS STORIES

The report also reiterates that Dibling is already sold on a potential move to Tottenham Hotspur.

Why signing Dibling makes sense for Spurs

Of course, Dibling is a player with immense talent, capable of playing on the right and as a No. 10. Should he sign for Spurs, it appears he would be offering competition to players who operate out wide.

Given the reports from Fabrizio Romano that Tottenham are looking to reinforce their attack, it makes complete sense for them to target a player like Dibling – someone versatile, young, and capable of filling multiple roles in the final third.

With Southampton on the brink of relegation, the hope is that they are willing to part ways with the youngster this summer.

Description

Tottenham could be handed a double blow this summer. With Spurs keen on Marco Silva as a potential Ange Postecoglou replacement, Fulham are making a move to convince their manager to stay—by targeting one of Tottenham’s transfer priorities, Angel Gomes.

Tottenham Hotspur have endured a frustrating campaign, and Postecoglou’s position is under increasing scrutiny.

Spurs have reportedly compiled a shortlist of potential replacements should they decide to part ways with Ange Postecoglou.

Among the names on that list is Marco Silva, who has impressed at Fulham and, notably, guided his side to a statement victory over Spurs—handing them their 15th league defeat of the season.

Fulham rival Spurs for Angel Gomes

Angel Gomes has been on Tottenham’s radar for some time, with the club eager to bolster their midfield options this summer.

The former Manchester United youngster is set to become a free agent, making him an attractive prospect for clubs across Europe.

Given Tottenham’s clear priority to reinforce their midfield this summer, a move for Gomes makes sense.

MORE SPURS STORIES

However, TBR Football has now reported a significant twist—Fulham have entered the race for Gomes and they see him as a perfect fit for Silva’s system.

The publication claims that the Lille midfielder has attracted interest from nearly a dozen clubs, with multiple teams holding talks over a potential deal.

Tottenham remain firmly in the mix, but Fulham have now stepped up their pursuit, holding discussions over what a move for the England youth international could look like.

With both clubs vying for his signature, Spurs could find themselves in a direct battle with the very club they are looking to poach a manager from.

Fulham want to keep Marco Silva away from Tottenham

Fulham’s interest in Gomes suggests they are planning for life under Marco Silva, a man Spurs are seriously considering for their own dugout.

If Gomes is seen as a key piece of Silva’s long-term plans, this move signals the club’s intent to back him in the transfer market—a clear statement that they are not prepared to lose their manager without a fight.

For Spurs, this is a double blow. Not only do they risk missing out on a talented midfielder they have been monitoring, but they also face the real possibility of seeing Silva commit his future to Fulham instead.

U21 France national team coach Gerald Baticle has highlighted one key thing that Tottenham Hotspur’s Mathys Tel needs to work on to take his game to the next level.

It has been nearly three months since Mathys Tel swapped Bayern Munich for Tottenham Hotspur. The 19-year-old has seen far more minutes in north London than he ever managed in Germany.

Yet, despite the increased game time, he has struggled to make a real impact, scoring just once in seven appearances for Spurs.

Even with his underwhelming form, Tel was among the 17 Tottenham players called up for international duty.

France u21 national team boss wants more from Spurs’ Mathys Tel

Speaking to the media, ahead of France’s u21 clash against England, his national team manager Gerald Baticle, addressed Mathys Tel’s development.

While he praised the teenager’s instinct in front of goal, he made it clear there is still plenty of work to be done if the 19-year-old wants to take his game up a level.

Ouest-France relayed Baticle’s comments: “He’s a player with great potential, who needs to develop his professionalism to establish himself.

MORE SPURS STORIES

“He must show that he’s efficient and effective to reach even higher levels. There’s still work to be done, but the foundation is very interesting.”

Regardless, the teenager remains a regular for France’s U21s, earning a spot in each of the last three international breaks, including this one.

What does this mean for Tottenham Hotspur and Mathys Tel?

There’s no doubt Tel has talent. He’s got raw ability, pace, and a real hunger to score goals. But right now, there’s a lot to improve if Tel is going to become the long-term replacement for Heung-min Son, as some have suggested.

Tottenham holds a £45.7 million option to buy at the end of the season, and reports suggest that Spurs are leaning towards activating Tel’s option to buy.

Whether that’s the right decision remains to be seen. However, if he wants to make it at Spurs, he’ll need to take Baticle’s words seriously and sharpen up quickly.

Description

We have ranked Tottenham Hotspur’s last ten permanent managers by their points-per-game record from worst to best to find out the most successful Spurs manager in recent years, and it is not good news for Ange Postecoglou.

Tottenham Hotspur have had their fair share of managerial changes in recent years, each appointment carrying the weight of expectation but ultimately falling short of delivering silverware.

Some managers have kept Spurs competitive in the Premier League, while others have struggled to leave a lasting impact. But who has been the most effective when it comes to results?

Let’s break it down, ranking the last ten permanent Tottenham managers by their points-per-game record.

Tottenham’s last ten managers ranked by points per game

The last ten permanent Tottenham managers, ranked by their points-per-game record from worst to best.

What the numbers tell us about Spurs

The rankings make for interesting reading. Some of the managers with the highest points-per-game tallies—like André Villas-Boas—didn’t last long, while others, such as Mauricio Pochettino, combined results with longevity, making him one of the most successful managers in recent Spurs history.

There’s also the case of Antonio Conte and José Mourinho, both known for their pragmatic, results-driven approach, yet neither could deliver long-term success at Spurs despite having a high points-per-game tally.

Meanwhile, Ange Postecoglou is still in the early days of his tenure, so his numbers could improve—or decline—depending on how things progress. However, present results suggest that those numbers could drop further.

Description

Tottenham Hotspur is a club with a rich history and its managers have played a vital role in recent years, so let’s take a look at the timeline of every manager to have represented the proud Lilywhites.

Tottenham Hotspur’s journey through managerial appointments has been anything but dull. From long-serving managers to short-lived tenures, the club has seen a variety of tactical minds attempt to steer the team towards glory.

Of course, some have left as heroes, others as nearly men, while a few barely lasted long enough to make an impact.

The likes of Bill Nicholson and Keith Burkinshaw built legacies that still resonate today, while more recent names such as Mauricio Pochettino and Antonio Conte tried to push Spurs towards sustained success.

In contrast, some managers, like Jacques Santini and Christian Gross, had brief and forgettable spells at the helm.

Indeed, with every managerial change, Spurs have experienced shifts in philosophy, recruitment strategies, and playing styles.

Let’s take a look at every manager who has represented Spurs, from the oldest to the most recent.

Tottenham legend accuses Sol Campbell of lying about his transfer to Arsenal - The Spurs Web
Description

Graham Roberts has become the latest person to accuse Sol Campbell of lying after the 50-year-old insisted that Tottenham tried to exploit him ahead of contract negotiations.

Sol Campbell remains the most disliked player among the Spurs fan base by a long way and that is unlikely to change anytime soon, with the Tottenham supporters understandably never forgiving him for his infamous betrayal back in 2021.

Earlier this week, Campbell accused Tottenham of trying to frame him in a police investigation involving a bust-up that happened at Derby County.

The centre-back asserted that the Spurs hierarchy wanted him to be charged with assaulting a steward so that they could retain him on a more modest contract.

Graham Roberts fires back at Sol Campbell

Then-Tottenham chairman, Alan Sugar, has already accused Sol Campbell of lying, insisting that the centre-back swapped N17 for Arsenal only because the Lilywhites would not cede to his huge contract demands.

Former Tottenham Hotspur captain Graham Roberts has now backed up Sugar’s claim, insisting that Campbell has been caught lying about his move to Arsenal time and again.

Roberts also felt that Gary Neville and the other Overlap hosts should have grilled the former England star and called out his lies during the interview.

Sol Campbell is doing himself no favours with Tottenham fans

Whatever one thinks about what Campbell did back in 2001 and whether he deserves the kind of treatment he gets from Spurs fans, the reality is that he is doing himself no favours by making these statements.

The 50-year-old might as well own the move he made rather than trying to come up with excuses, which Tottenham fans are certainly not going to buy.

Ola Aina reveals how he nearly ended up at Tottenham instead of Chelsea - The Spurs Web
Description

Nottingham Forest star Ola Aina has revealed how his dad forced him to have a trial with the Tottenham academy before he eventually joined Chelsea.

A number of Forest players have seen their reputation skyrocket this season as Nuno Espirito Santo’s men look on course to securing Champions League qualification.

One of those is undoubtedly Ola Aina, who has been one of the best right-backs on show across the English top-flight season.

Aina will undoubtedly attract some attention from big clubs this summer on the back of his impressive displays at City Ground, but the 28-year-old has now revealed how close to came to joining the Tottenham Hotspur academy.

Ola Aina was forced to go to Tottenham by his father

Aina came through the ranks of the Chelsea academy in Cobham, and he had a spell in Serie A with Torino before eventually signing for Forest in 2022.

The right-back has seen his stock rise substantially over the past 18 months, and he has now explained that his father actually forced him to have a trial at Spurs before he joined the West London club.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Aina told The Inside Scoop podcast: “Dad looked at where Chelsea was and said ‘It’s too far’. He told me straight. I remember I was in the kitchen. He said ‘You are going to Tottenham’.

“And I asked him, ‘Is it because you support Tottenham?’ He was like ‘yeah, but also Cobham is too far. Can’t be driving and back’. And I was upset bro.

“So, we went to Spurs. There is a mad story about that as well (his time at Tottenham) and then we ended up going to Chelsea, and obviously, the rest is history.”

Spurs academy coaches have let one slip

It is clear that the Spurs academy coaches made a mistake by not hanging on to Aina, given the kind of player he has developed into.

However, the Forest man was evidently a late bloomer whose talent was not obvious at a young age, which is demonstrated by the fact that he only ever made three senior appearances for Chelsea.

All 61 players to win a trophy after leaving Tottenham – From Gareth Bale to Jamie O’Hara - The Spurs Web
Description

It has been 17 long years since Tottenham Hotspur last lifted a trophy. While they have flirted with success, silverware has remained elusive. Meanwhile, a staggering 61 former Spurs players have gone on to taste glory elsewhere. Here is a list of every ex-Tottenham player who has won a trophy since 2008.

Tottenham’s trophyless run has stretched on since their League Cup triumph in 2008, leaving fans frustrated as they watch other clubs celebrate success.

The club has had its moments—Champions League and League Cup finals, top-four finishes—but the trophy cabinet remains untouched.

Newcastle United’s recent Carabao Cup victory against Liverpool ended their 70-year wait for silverware, with Kieran Trippier playing a key role.

The former Spurs full-back never won a trophy in North London but has since become a serial winner.

Like Trippier, plenty of Tottenham’s former players have gone on to win major honours elsewhere, achieving what has seemed impossible at N17 for nearly two decades.

Every player to win silverware after leaving Tottenham

We have now put together a list of every player to win silverware after leaving Spurs. To make this list, a player must have left Tottenham Hotspur without winning a major honour and then lifted a significant trophy post-departure.

Loan spells do not count, and only league titles, major domestic cups, and continental competitions are considered—no pre-season tournaments.

Tottenham legend reveals he turned down Juventus for North London return

Tottenham legend reveals he turned down Juventus for North London return - The Spurs Web
Description

Former Tottenham forward Jermain Defoe has revealed he was offered the chance of joining Juventus before opting for a return to Spurs.

Tottenham Hotspur have boasted some prolific goalscorers over the years. Harry Kane, Spurs’ all-time leading scorer with 280 goals, is the standout name.

But not far behind is Jermain Defoe, who bagged 143 goals for the club and sits seventh on the club’s all-time scoring charts.

The Englishman had two spells at Tottenham, first joining in 2004 before returning in 2008. Now, he has lifted the lid on just how much interest he had from clubs both in England and abroad.

Jermain Defoe on interest from Juventus, Manchester United, and Liverpool

Speaking about the clubs that wanted him, Defoe said to WhoScored: “United and Liverpool, I was linked with a few times. United a lot when I was at West Ham, Liverpool when I was at Tottenham. Juventus?

“I got a phone call before I went back to Tottenham in 2008. I was going back to Spurs from Portsmouth, and I remember my agent calling me.

“Well, actually, it wasn’t even my agent at the time. He just said, ‘Juve are interested. You know there’s Tottenham there, but if it doesn’t go through, would you fancy Juventus?’ And I said, ‘Yeah!’ I think those three clubs I mentioned—giant clubs.”

MORE SPURS STORIES

Defoe’s return to Spurs ultimately materialised, but the thought of swapping the Premier League for Serie A and donning the black and white of Juventus was a tempting one.

The Bianconeri were a powerhouse in Italian football, and the opportunity to lead the line alongside some of the most legendary strikers in the game would have been an entirely different challenge for the Englishman.

Defoe chose Tottenham over some of the European greats

Reflecting on what it would have been like to play for Juventus, Defoe couldn’t help but marvel at the idea of partnering with legends like Alessandro Del Piero.

“Imagine,” he said. “You talk about forwards you’d love to play with, but actually, he played in Soccer Aid last year, and it was just like—wow. As a young centre-forward, growing up watching players like that, an iconic figure.”

On David Trezeguet, Defoe kept it short and sweet: “Legend.” The Frenchman was a prolific goalscorer for Juventus, and Defoe could only imagine what it would have been like to share a front line with him in the Champions League.

The move never happened, but the thought of Defoe linking up with such world-class talent remains an intriguing ‘what if’ in football history.
