Description

Son Heung-min’s future at Tottenham remains in the balance as transfer talks are scheduled to take place.

Son has been at Spurs for 10 seasons and helped the club win the Europa League, their first trophy in 17 years, in May.

Despite his fan favourite status, Son could depart North London this summer with just one year left on his contract.

With new manager Thomas Frank having arrived from Brentford just 10 days ago, Son is poised to have crunch talks soon with the Dane over his future.

Son should decide his own future

Football London’s Tottenham Hotspur correspondent Alasdair Gold has revealed [June 22] that Son is the closest he has ever been to leaving the club and talks between him and Frank need to happen.

“Ultimately Son’s future should be decided by Son,” Gold said.

MORE FOOTBALL INSIDER STORIES

“He’s earned that right as a trophy-winning legend of the club with 10 years of service under his belt.

“I would say there’s more chance of him leaving this summer than ever before, but he and Frank need to have a conversation first to decide what the Dane’s plans for him are as well, if that hasn’t already happened.”

In the forward department, Spurs could also lose Richarlison with speculation continuing around his future in North London.

Timo Werner has already departed the club following his loan spell and Bryan Gil and Manor Solomon look set to be sold.

Son would leave with legend status

Football Insider verdict

Son has been one of Spurs’ most successful signings over the past decade since he arrived from Bayer Leverkusen for just £22million.

He arrived as a relatively unknown quantity but would leave as a club great having been a part of that Europa League winning squad.

The South Korean cares deeply about the club and his 11 goals in 41 appearances last season suggests he could still have lots to offer on the pitch.

After the sacking of Ange Postecoglou didn’t go down well with many supporters, if Frank’s first act as manager was to let Son leave the club then that would definitely cause anger among the fanbase.

Son though will probably be a regular among the substitutes if Frank is able to persuade Bryan Mbeumo to join him at Spurs rather than go to Manchester United.

Frank is also look at either Yoane Wissa or Antoine Semenyo to bolster his attack, so Son may find game time more challenging next season if he stays.

‘Leeds handed major Manor Solomon boost with Tottenham transfer plan revealed’

‘Leeds handed major Manor Solomon boost with Tottenham transfer plan revealed’ - Football Insider
Description

Leeds United have been handed a major boost in their pursuit of Tottenham forward Manor Solomon as Spurs’ transfer plans have been revealed.

Solomon was on loan at Leeds last campaign from Spurs and helped the club clinch promotion back to the Premier League after two seasons away.

The 25-year-old scored 10 goals and registered 12 assists in the Championship last season, and as the Whites prepare for their return to the top flight, signing him permanently has been seen as a priority.

As exclusively revealed by Football Insider, Burnley are also interested in signing Solomon ahead of their own return to the top flight, so Daniel Farke may need to be quick to wrap up a deal.

Richarlison and Son could decide Spurs’ transfer dealings

Football London’s Tottenham correspondent Alasdair Gold has reported [June 22] a transfer decision has been made on Solomon and that he is likely to leave North London this summer with new manager Thomas Frank prioritising other forward options.

Solomon has only made six appearances for Spurs as his first season at the club was cruelly ended by a knee injury.

MORE FOOTBALL INSIDER STORIES

“Bryan Gil and Manor Solomon are likely to move on this summer,” Gold said.

“One of the priorities is clearly a wide player who can also play through the middle. Bryan Mbeumo, Yoane Wissa and Antoine Semenyo all tick that box with the former and latter both expected to be pushing towards the £70million price mark and Wissa less because he’s got just a year left on his contract.”

Gold also states the future of Son Heung-Min and Richarlison “need to be sorted” and a lot of Spurs’ transfer activity this summer could depend on whether either player is sold.

Timo Werner has already left the club whilst Mathys Tel has signed permanently following a loan spell from Bayern Munich.

Frank making Solomon mistake

Football Insider verdict

Solomon’s permanent move to Leeds sounds like it will be going ahead this summer, as the forward doesn’t look set to earn another chance at Spurs.

The Israel international would once again be a key player for Farke’s side as shown by his impressive numbers in the Championship last season.

Frank may want a quick sell so he can increase his transfer kitty to be able to beat Manchester United to the signing of Mbeumo.

More than just one attacking option may be required though should either Richarlison or Son also depart.

Wissa and Semenyo, the other forward options linked to the club, would also be superb signings after both had impressive seasons last time out.

Brentford and Bournemouth though may be reluctant to let more key players leave without a sizeable transfer fee, so Frank may be forced to look elsewhere.

Therefore, selling Solomon, who clearly has lots of potential, could be one of Frank’s first mistakes.

‘Tottenham eye Walker-Peters return, 3 needed to solve Champions League headache’ - Football Insider
Description

Kyle Walker-Peters could make a surprise return to Tottenham as Thomas Frank looks to fix a significant issue ahead of next season.

Daniel Levy made the cut-throat decision to sack Ange Postecoglou, leaving the first-team squad in turmoil after pipping Ruben Amorim’s Man United to the Europa League title in Bilbao.

Multiple players have been linked with exits, potentially due to the change in manager, with Football Insider understanding that Tottenham are preparing to replace Pedro Porro should he leave this summer.

That is far from the new manager’s biggest worry, however, with UEFA’s rules ahead of next season, having qualified for the Champions League, taking full effect this summer.

A “club-trained player” is someone who has been on a club’s books for three entire seasons or 36 months between the ages of 15 and 21, and the Lilywhites only have one, when the target is four.

Walker-Peters was with Spurs between 2015 and 2020 before leaving for Southampton, and he could help solve the issue at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium ahead of 2025/26.

Kyle Walker-Peters to Tottenham explored in North London

According to Football London (20 June), Spurs have considered a move later in the window to bring Walker-Peters back as a free agent to fill a club-trained spot in the squad for next season.

Brandon Austin is the only club-trained player in the current squad, with the Lilywhites needing four in total, and it is understood that the player would be interested in a return to North London.

Everton and Wolves are both interested in the full-back, and Frank’s side are expected to prioritise other key areas first before making a move for Walker-Peters, which could allow other clubs to pounce.

Without filling the four club-trained spots, Spurs’ squad for the Champions League will shrink from a 25-man squad to a 22-man squad.

Thomas Frank faces difficult summer after Brentford exit

Football Insider verdict

Frank is facing threats from all angles despite only joining the Lilywhites a matter of days ago, and will just now be realising the massive task he has taken on since being appointed.

Football Insider understands that Atletico Madrid’s interest in Cristian Romero is not expected to disappear, with several other high-profile stars being linked with exits.

Son Heung-min, Richarlison, Yves Bissouma, James Maddison, Manor Solomon, and Dejan Kulusevski have all been linked with a Tottenham exit in recent months, and any of those exits would be huge news.

Of course, due to the manager’s links to the Gtech Community Stadium, it has emerged that both Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa could follow Frank to North London.

The 51-year-old will be desperate to achieve a lot with the Lilywhites, building on the team breaking a 17-year trophy drought under Postecoglou’s reign.

A base has been set for a new squad to be built on, but with several big-name players now being linked with summer moves, the signing of Walker-Peters will likely be the least of his worries right now.

Exclusive: Tottenham to agree deal after INEOS twist - Football Insider
Description

Tottenham are likely to reach a settlement agreement with INEOS in their ongoing sponsorship dispute, sources have told Football Insider.

The petrochemicals company, which is spearheaded by Manchester United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, first partnered with Spurs in 2020 after agreeing to become their official hand sanitiser and 4×4 vehicle partners.

The deal was later expanded in 2022, with the INEOS brand displayed in the dugout of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

INEOS held talks to end the Tottenham sponsorship in February as Ratcliffe continues to pursue cost-cutting measures across his empire.

The Mail reported on 16 March the two parties had reached a pay-off agreement to end the deal early, with Spurs set to be paid millions.

However, court records show Tottenham filed a commercial claim on 12 June after INEOS exited the sponsorship deal three years into a five-year agreement, but no documents are currently available.

Sources have told Football Insider these kinds of disputes are common in business and the parties are likely to reach a settlement agreement.

Jim Ratcliffe slammed after Man United move

INEOS has provided a response to Tottenham’s claim following the sponsorship dispute.

In a statement on 13 June, it said: “INEOS Automotive has been a partner of Tottenham Hotspur since 2022, expanding on a partnership agreement that INEOS Group had in place with the club since 2020.

“We have a contractual right to terminate our partnership contract and in December 2024 exercised that right.”

In a separate dispute, it was announced in March INEOS had reached a settlement agreement with New Zealand Rugby (NZR) after a six-year sponsorship deal was ended early.

NZR launched legal proceedings against INEOS in February after alleging the company had failed to make a payment for the first part of this year.

Ratcliffe has also faced criticism from Man United fans following his cost-cutting measures at Old Trafford, which have included staff redundancies, charity cuts and ticket price hikes.

Tottenham could hijack Man United’s Bryan Mbeumo deal

In terms of on-field matters, Football Insider revealed on 13 June Tottenham could hijack United’s move to sign Bryan Mbeumo following Thomas Frank’s appointment as manager.

Frank’s arrival has added to the belief that Spurs could secure the Brentford star’s signature despite him previously preferring a move to Old Trafford.

Tottenham could be boosted by their Champions League qualification, while United have no European football to offer the Cameroon international for next season.

Morgan Gibbs-White reacts to Brennan Johnson amid Tottenham transfer claim - Football Insider
Description

Brennan Johnson’s latest social media post received a reaction from Morgan Gibbs-White after rumours of a potential Tottenham switch this summer.

The 25-year-old has seriously impressed over the last three seasons at Nottingham Forest, notching another seven goals and eight assists in 38 appearances in 2025/26.

Man City, Arsenal, and Chelsea are all said to be involved in the race for the playmaker’s signature, but Daily Mail journalist Tom Collomosse has tipped Tottenham to target a move for Gibbs-White.

Spurs are in a period of change following Ange Postecoglou’s sacking and the appointment of Thomas Frank from Brentford, but Daniel Levy‘s side are still playing Champions League football next term.

While no official interest has been reported, moves for Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa in North London would suggest a new transfer tactic, and Gibbs-White would be a sensational signing for the Lilywhites.

Brennan Johnson catches the eye away from Tottenham

Taking to Instagram (17 June), Johnson shared a series of images from Barbados as the Welshman enjoys time away from North London, catching the attention of multiple Premier League stars.

Teammates Archie Gray, Djed Spence, Dominic Solanke, and Lucas Bergvall all liked the post, but it was Gibbs-White’s reaction that will have caught fans’ attention on social media.

Thomas Frank’s key summer transfer window in North London

Football Insider verdict

Micky van de Ven’s words to the media would suggest an unrest within the squad, with Levy facing a toxic outbreak following the decision to sack Postecoglou despite winning the Europa League.

Although the owner has since broken his silence on the situation, supporters are continuously frustrated by his cowardly actions, and few fans are convinced that Frank can do a better job next season.

Multiple new signings could be needed to replace the likes of Cristian Romero, Pedro Porro, Dejan Kulusevski, and even James Maddison, and Football Insider understands that Tottenham could have a £70million offer for Antoine Semenyo accepted.

Football Insider also understands that Tottenham could accept an offer for Son Heung-min, though the club’s tour of South Korea is likely to delay any decision on the forward’s future.

It could be quite a difficult summer for Frank, having only just arrived at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but he knew what he was signing up for when speaking with Levy.

Spurs suffered from extremely poor form in the Premier League last term, finishing 17th in the table, and only relegation to the Championship could make that any worse next season.

‘Tottenham’s untapped source of £375m revenue boosts takeover chance’

‘Tottenham’s untapped source of £375m revenue boosts takeover chance’ - Football Insider
Description

Tottenham’s chances of securing a takeover have been boosted through an as-yet unrealised source of revenue that could generate up to £375million on a major deal.

Daniel Levy has been Spurs‘ chairman and owner since taking over from Lord Alan Sugar back in 2001, but the club have struggled to progress on the pitch under his leadership despite taking major strides forward in their off-field operations.

Levy is not particularly well-liked among Tottenham supporters at the moment, with his recent decision to sack Ange Postecoglou and hire Thomas Frank also not going down well among numerous Spurs players, according to The Athletic.

The Guardian reported in February that Qatari investors want to take over from the 62-year-old with full control of the club, and former chief Keith Wyness told Football Insider in May that he expects a deal for Levy to sell Tottenham to be completed soon.

Tottenham Hotspur Stadium naming rights a major bonus

Football Insider revealed a further update on the club’s takeover situation earlier in June, with Tottenham believed to be moving closer to selling a hefty £5billion-valued stake in the club.

Levy is claimed to have let the saga influence him sacking Postecoglou, with Dr Dan Plumley telling Football Insider that he had “one eye on the future” regarding the decision, and a new report from The Telegraph has revealed that the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium could hold the key to a takeover being completed.

MORE FOOTBALL INSIDER STORIES

Nic Hamer from Oakwell Sports Advisory has told The Telegraph that Spurs could generate nearly £25 million a year, or £375 million over 15 years, for a stadium naming-rights deal.

Spurs’ home ground has not yet had a sponsor since it was opened in 2019, so the potential to name the stadium after their own company could make the club hugely attractive to a prospective buyer, with a huge source of revenue so far untapped.

Stefan Borson revealed to Football Insider in December 2024 that Tottenham were looking to secure a £25m-a-year stadium-rights agreement with DHL, so it is clear that the possibility is there for something along those lines to be looked at by a new investor.

Spurs’ deal could fund important summer transfer business

Football Insider verdict

It is fair to say that many Spurs supporters will be hoping for a takeover deal to be completed soon, but it will certainly not come cheap for a new buyer after Dan Plumley recently told Football Insider that Tottenham are one of a few clubs that can command a valuation of £3-4billion.

They need it to happen quickly for new owners to be able to invest more money in the playing squad in this transfer window, but it would be a welcome boost to new boss Frank, who will want to see significant improvements to his team after a lowly 17th-placed finish under Postecoglou last season.

Tottenham are planning to hijack Man United’s swoop for Bryan Mbeumo, as revealed by Football Insider, while they have also been linked with a move for Nottingham Forest star Morgan Gibbs-White by the Daily Mail, but he would likely command a fee of upwards of £70million after a stellar season at the City Ground.

They certainly need increased investment by any means possible, with a return to Champions League football on the horizon, and so all connected to the club will likely hope that a takeover deal goes through as soon as possible so a new era can begin in North London.

Tottenham fans destroy Levy amid ‘ridiculous’ Son Heung-min update – ‘Shameless’

Tottenham fans destroy Levy amid ‘ridiculous’ Son Heung-min update – ‘Shameless’ - Football Insider
Description

Daniel Levy is once again feeling the wrath of Tottenham fans following the latest update on Son Heung-min’s future.

The South Korean international has amassed a total of 454 appearances since joining Spurs in 2015, scoring 173 goals and assisting another 101 goals during his time with the club.

However, the 32-year-old’s future has been thrown into uncertainty following the sacking of Ange Postecoglou, with Football Insider understanding that Thomas Frank is likely to decide Son’s next actions.

Tottenham fans were extremely critical of Son’s performances last season, and despite notching 11 goals and 11 assists in all competitions, it was far from his best campaign for the Lilywhites.

Son Heung-min exit gathers pace at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

Saudi Arabia has emerged as a potential destination for the dynamic forward this summer, with the Saudi Pro League looking to heavily invest in the summer transfer market yet again.

The player has just 12 months left on his current deal in North London, and now, BBC Sport’s Sami Mokbel reports (17 June) that a decision over his future is likely to be delayed for now.

MORE FOOTBALL INSIDER STORIES

That is due to Spurs’ upcoming tour of South Korea playing a major role in the decision, with his absence possibly risking complications with tour organisers ahead of friendlies with Arsenal and Newcastle United.

Son had already agreed to various activities during the tour, which often produces a lot of profit for Levy and his club, with sources understanding that an offer way above his valuation would have to arrive for a bid to be accepted before the tour.

Tottenham supporters furious with Son Heung-min’s treatment

Supporters are clearly frustrated with Levy’s treatment of a club legend, having stayed loyal to the Lilywhites over the last decade, and even outlasting Harry Kane in North London.

Levy appears more inclined to use Son’s face to promote the tour than to do what is best for the player, who, while it was not his best season, led Spurs to the Europa League title last season.

One supporter labelled the owner as “genuinely shameless”, while another called the situation “ridiculous”. However, going by the comments, few fans are actually surprised by Levy’s actions.

Description

Dominic Solanke has reacted to the news that Tottenham have signed Mathys Tel from Bayern Munich on a permanent deal.

The France Under-21 international joined Spurs on loan from the Bundesliga giants in the winter transfer window, and scored three goals in 20 appearances for the North Londoners.

His most recent goal contribution for Tottenham came on 4 May, when he created an assist during a 1-1 draw with West Ham.

Tel has become Spurs’ first signing since the appointment of Thomas Frank from Brentford, and the former Bees boss will hope to see the 20-year-old succeed under his stewardship.

Solanke reacts as Tottenham sign Tel

Solanke played a crucial role in Tottenham’s Europa League success last season, scoring five goals and providing four assists in the competition.

Meanwhile, taking to Instagram [15 June], the Spurs official account wrote: “We are delighted to announce the permanent signing of Mathys Tel from Bayern Munich on a contract that will run until 2031.”

MORE FOOTBALL INSIDER STORIES

Solanke liked the post and will look to effectively link up with the former Bayern man in the Premier League next season.

Football Insider verdict

Spurs will want more from Tel next season

Tel boasts plenty of potential and proved his attacking ability when he scored to help France to a dramatic 3-2 win over Georgia in the Under-21 Euros on Saturday, 14 June.

After the 20-year-old joined the North London club from Bayern on loan last season, Spurs may have held high expectations for the forward, who notched 10 goals and six assists during the 2023/24 campaign.

However, Tel only scored three goals in 20 appearances for Tottenham last term, as former boss Ange Postecoglou failed to get the best out of him.

Frank must look to get a better attacking output from the France Under-21 international next season, as the North Londoners will not want to regret buying the former Rennes man from Bayern.

As reported by Sky Sports [15 June], Spurs paid £29.8million for Tel, while Daniel Levy has already proven his willingness to back Frank in the transfer market.

Exclusive: Keith Andrews set for Brentford job after Thomas Frank exit to Tottenham - Football Insider
Description

Keith Andrews is set to be named Brentford boss following Thomas Frank’s move to Tottenham, sources have told Football Insider.

The Bees are currently without a manager after Daniel Levy appointed Frank in North London, with Ange Postecoglou being sacked despite winning the Europa League title against Man United.

Justin Cochrane had been interviewed by Brentford, Football Insider understands, before following the 51-year-old to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with Ipswich Town’s Kieran McKenna and Edin Terzic also linked.

Football Insider now understands, however, that the club are set to appoint from within at the Gtech Community Stadium, promoting Andrews, who joined last summer, from the set-piece coach to manager.

Thomas Frank’s successor set to be named at Brentford

While Andrews’ playing career was extensive, featuring for the likes of Wolves, MK Dons, and Blackburn Rovers, his managerial abilities are far more unknown heading into next season.

To make matters worse for the Bees, Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa could both leave the club this summer, with Frank’s arrival in North London seeing them linked with the same move.

MORE FOOTBALL INSIDER STORIES

The duo played a key role in the club’s top-half Premier League finish, boasting 52 goal contributions between them as the Bees drew with Wolves on the final day to secure 10th spot.

Likely due to Andrews’ work on the training pitch, the Bees scored 13 set-piece goals last season, boasting more than Arsenal and Man City, who both finished in the top-five spots.

Keith Andrews faces difficult summer transfer window ahead

Losing two of the club’s most important playmakers is likely to be a shock to the system this summer, though with the possible transfer fees floating around, it may not be too difficult to find replacements.

Some fans are still coming to terms with Frank’s exit, but with Football Insider breaking the news of Postecoglou’s sacking at Tottenham, it will have come as no surprise in North London.

The 51-year-old was a much-loved figure at the Gtech Community Stadium, having an impact on and off the pitch, so it leaves Andrews with some very big boots to fill next season.

‘Tottenham to submit Marc Guehi swap deal offer – I’m hearing…’ - Football Insider
Description

Tottenham tried in vain to land Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi in the January transfer window to ease their injury crisis.

Spurs are now set to try again to land the 24-year-old – who is fresh off an FA Cup victory with Palace and will be eyeing a starring role at next year’s World Cup.

Football Insider revealed in March that Newcastle, Tottenham and Chelsea will race Liverpool to land Guehi this summer – while Arsenal have also been linked.

Palace’s FA Cup win will not make a massive difference to his future, with the centre-back having just over 12 months to run on his contract.

Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – has revealed he has heard Tottenham are plotting a new swoop for Guehi.

Guehi will not make La Liga move, says Wyness

Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness claimed a swap deal could be likely with Palace looking to beef up ahead of a Europa League campaign next term.

MORE FOOTBALL INSIDER STORIES

Guehi, who has been linked with a free transfer switch to La Liga giants Barcelona and Real Madrid, has been with the Croydon club since 2021 and has been an England regular since 2022.

Wyness told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “It’ll be a blow if Guehi goes because the main objective for Palace will be keeping this squad together.

“I’m hearing he won’t be going to Barcelona or Real Madrid for free – he’ll be going to Spurs, is what I’m hearing.

“There may be a player swap which can benefit Palace there.

“I don’t think it’ll be about getting the cash, it’ll be about getting the right players for Palace.

“We may see a swap there and it could end up being a good move for both clubs.

“If they are going to lose players, Palace have got to replace them with quality.”

Tottenham bracing to lose Romero

Meanwhile, Football Insider revealed on Wednesday (28 May) that Atletico Madrid’s interest in Tottenham star Cristian Romero will not go away despite their Champions League qualification.

Atleti are very interested in landing Romero and are ready to test Spurs’ resolve to keep the centre-back.

Sources say Argentinian manager Diego Simeone is a “huge admirer” of his countryman.
