Description

Tottenham Hotspur's number one managerial target, Marco Silva, has confirmed he won't be leaving Fulham this summer despite reports that he's a leading candidate to replace Ange Postecoglou.

A change in the dugout could still be possible at Tottenham, despite the north London club winning the Europa League earlier this week. It was a disappointing season for Spurs, who finished in 17th place in the Premier League.

GIVEMESPORT sources confirmed back in April that Postecoglou's job security wasn't resting on whether they would win the Europa League this season. There's still a chance that the Australian manager will be sacked, with their Premier League performances likely deemed unacceptable despite lifting a trophy in Europe.

Tottenham Manager Target Confirms he Won't Leave

A report from Sky Sports journalist Gianluca Di Marzio previously confirmed that Fulham boss Silva was Tottenham's number one target to replace Postecoglou this summer. However, speaking after Fulham's final Premier League game of the season, Silva has confirmed that he won't be leaving the club heading into the 2025/2026 campaign...

"I will be here next season."

Journalist Ben Jacobs recently confirmed to GIVEMESPORT that Silva was a 'leading candidate' to take over from Postecoglou if Spurs were to make a change in the dugout. Unfortunately for Tottenham, they've now been dealt a blow, and it's back to the drawing board if they are still considering sacking Postecoglou in the coming weeks or months.

Silva may still feel that he has unfinished business at Fulham after they failed to qualify for Europe this season. It looked as though the Cottagers had a strong chance of qualifying, but they ended the season in 11th. With further investment, there's no reason Fulham can't go on to finish in the top half and start pushing to battle with the other sides who are competing to qualify for European competitions.

Description

Southampton starlet Tyler Dibling is on the radar of Tottenham Hotspur, according to Sami Mokbel of the BBC.

Domestically, it has been a dire season for Spurs. Having exited both domestic cups before the finals, Tottenham were entirely reliant on their Europa League campaign as, in the Premier League, the Lilywhites have lost 21 of their 37 matches played so far, a run of form that has seen Ange Postecoglou come under pressure across the campaign.

On the continent, Spurs have played like a different team when compared to their Premier League displays. It was their Europa League efforts, no doubt, that kept Postecoglou in a job. Against Manchester United, Brennan Johnson scored the only goal of the final to see Spurs win their first major trophy in 17 years.

Postecoglou, despite being under pressure, has done what so many managers have failed to do at Spurs and win a trophy. Regardless of what the North London side decide to do about their manager, they certainly have an eye on the upcoming transfer window and are monitoring a stellar talent.

Spurs Are Targeting Dibling

Youngster had a breakout season

As per the BBC, Tottenham remain keen on Tyler Dibling, who enjoyed his first season of senior football with Southampton in the Premier League. While the Saints, who were relegated with seven games to spare, endured a really tough season, Dibling was one of their few bright sparks. So much so, that "half of Europe" want Dibling according to Sky Sports Germany's Florian Plettenberg.

At just 19 years old, Dibling plays with a brilliant level of confidence for such a young player and his displays have drawn the attention of numerous Premier League clubs. Dibling, who would reportedly cost £100 million, looks bound to remain within the top flight and it seems Tottenham could be his destination.

As proven with the likes of Mathys Tel, Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray, Spurs are happy to put some trust into youthful players, which perhaps would not be guaranteed to Dibling were he to go elsewhere. After their Europa League win, Spurs are also a Champions League side, something that could further sway Dibling into a move.

Should Spurs manage to sign the England youth international, it would be an exceptional deal for the Lilywhites.

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly eyeing three high-profile signings, including Liverpool target Benjamin Sesko, after winning the UEFA Europa League.

Ange Postecoglou lived up to his word by winning a trophy in his second season with Spurs. A 1-0 win over Manchester United has clinched qualification for next season's UEFA Champions League.

Spanish outlet Fichajes.net reports that the Lilywhites are now showing ambition in the transfer market and "working on three strategic signings". RB Leipzig striker Sesko is now one of their top targets, and they could give Liverpool competition for the Slovenian.

Spurs Plot Three Big Signings Including Sesko

Daniel Levy is ready to back whoever's at the helm

Postecoglou's future is still in doubt despite ending Spurs' 17-year trophy drought. Reports claim the club are "some way down the line" of finding a replacement.

Whether the Australian remains in charge likely wouldn't affect the three big-name signings they want to make to ignite their return to the Champions League. The first is Sesko, who has reportedly received serious interest from Liverpool and is keen on a move to Anfield.

Sesko, 21, has starred for Leipzig this season and could cost around £85m (€100m). Spurs are thought to see him as "a gamble for both the present and future," a lack of interest from around Europe has "accelerated negotiations."

Postecoglou pointed to injury troubles throughout the campaign, which hindered his midfield. Speculation is growing over Rodrigo Bentancur's future amid reports suggesting that Atletico Madrid is keen on the Uruguayan and Cristian Romero.

Real Betis' Johnny Cardoso is also on Daniel Levy's wishlist. The club has a non-mandatory £20m (€25m) purchase option for the American midfielder, which was agreed upon after selling Giovani Lo Celso to the La Liga outfit.

Cardoso, 23, has received interest from around Europe, and a potential deal hinges on his desire to play in the Premier League this summer.

The Lilywhites could look to upgrade on James Maddison, who missed the Europa League final through injury. Their "dream signing" is Xavi Simons, and the Dutch attacker is one of the most in-demand playmakers this summer and could cost around a hefty £67m (€80m).

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Xavi Simons and Benjamin Sesko have scored 23 of RB Leipzig's 53 goals in the Bundesliga.

Fabrizio Romano confirmed in his GIVEMESPORT newsletter that Simons, 22, is on the list of several clubs. There has been talk of Liverpool looking at the Leipzig star as a Florian Wirtz alternative, while Manchester United are also known admirers.

Description

Tottenham Hotspur are being forced to remain patient as they aim to discover whether they have done enough to convince Angel Gomes to head to Hotspur Way as the Lille star prepares to make a final decision on who to join when he becomes a free agent, GIVEMESPORT sources have revealed.

Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou kept his promise of winning silverware in his second season at the helm, with the north Londoners beating Manchester United in the Europa League final earlier this week to end a 17-year wait for a trophy, and plans are being put in place to welcome reinforcements.

Kevin Danso will become a permanent member of Tottenham's squad, thanks to there being a £20.9million obligation to buy the central defender at the end of his initial loan spell from Lens, but there is a desire to improve their options in the middle of the park when the transfer window reopens for business.

Spurs Remain Patient in Bid to Recruit Gomes

England international preparing to confirm preferred landing spot

Tottenham are playing the waiting game in their pursuit of a deal for Gomes, according to GMS sources, but chairman Daniel Levy and members of the recruitment department will soon find out whether their attempts to turn his head since January have paid off as he edges towards confirming his preferred destination.

The England international has been pinpointed as an attractive option by Spurs and a host of other sides across Europe due to him preparing to become a free agent when his Lille contract, which allows him to pocket in the region of £12,000-per-week, expires at the end of next month.

GMS sources have been informed that Tottenham are keen to discover whether their groundwork is going to be enough to land Gomes, who has enjoyed a fruitful spell in his current surroundings, and there is an internal confidence that they have put themselves in a strong position to see off stiff competition.

West Ham United have been among Spurs' domestic counterparts looking to lure the central midfielder back to his homeland, but the east Londoners were left frustrated when he decided to snub the opportunity to join after a £100,000-per-week deal was pushed into his direction earlier this year.

Tottenham are hopeful that being able to offer Champions League action will have boosted their chances of being able to sway Gomes towards completing a switch, GMS sources have learned, but he has been determined to carefully assess his options instead of rushing into making a final decision.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Angel Gomes was limited to just 737 minutes of Ligue 1 action this season

Gomes Still Has Opportunity to Stay in France

Midfielder could opt to join current employers' domestic rivals

GMS sources have been told that Marseille could prove to be among Tottenham's biggest competitors to secure Gomes' signature as the Ligue 1 outfit, managed by former Brighton & Hove Albion chief Roberto De Zerbi, have put together a strong offer in a last-ditch attempt to convince him to remain in France.

The 24-year-old has been described as 'phenomenal' by journalist Alex Turk and showcased his quality with Les Phoceens' domestic rivals Lille, resulting in there being a desire for them to tempt him to the south coast as they prepare for a return to the Champions League in the 2025/26 campaign.

But Gomes has had a host of proposals coming his way during the final stages of his time at the Stade Pierre Mauroy, GMS sources understand, leading to Tottenham and Marseille being among the sides having to wait patiently to discover whether they have come out on top in the race for an agreement.

GMS sources recently revealed that Spurs are increasingly confident that they will recruit Marc Guehi, with the Crystal Palace centre-back interested in hearing what they have to say about a potential switch across the capital, but they do not want their spending to stop there during the summer.

BBC Journalist: Tottenham Eyeing 'Incredible' Manager to Replace Postecoglou

BBC Journalist: Tottenham Eyeing 'Incredible' Manager to Replace Postecoglou - GiveMeSport
Description

Tottenham Hotspur remain keen on Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner, according to BBC journalist Sami Mokbel.

It has been such a polarising season for Spurs. In the Premier League, were it not for the already-relegated bottom three, the club would be in a genuine relegation battle. 21 losses in 37 Premier League matches has seen pressure rise on manager Ange Postecoglou across the campaign.

Postecoglou’s only saving grace, certainly towards the end of the season, was the Europa League. Spurs were a different side in Europe and the Lilywhites reached the final of the competition. Against Manchester United, a Brennan Johnson goal was enough for Spurs to end their 17-year trophy drought, meaning Postecoglou has guided Spurs to silverware, the ultimate goal for the club.

It is unclear whether Postecoglou will remain at Spurs, despite what he has achieved. It seems that, should the Australian depart, the North London side already have a name in mind to replace him.

Spurs Like Glasner

Austrian has been incredible at Crystal Palace

As per the BBC, Oliver Glasner is a manager that Spurs remain very keen on. The Austrian moved to Crystal Palace in early 2024 to replace Roy Hodgson and has taken the Eagles to unprecedented heights. Palace recently beat Manchester City 1-0 in the FA Cup final to secure their first-ever piece of silverware and a place in Europe, another first for the club.

Glasner’s impact at Palace has been apparent, both in their league form and the displays of players such as Jean-Philippe Mateta, Eberechi Eze and Daniel Munoz, to name just a few. In Glasner, who has been called "incredible," Spurs would be acquiring a promising manager who has shown, with Palace and Eintracht Frankfurt, that he knows how to win.

Whether Glasner would depart Palace though, particularly after such a triumphant cup victory, remains to be seen.

Description

Tottenham remain interested in Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi after attempting to sign him in January, BBC journalist Sami Mokbel has revealed.

The Europa League winners saw their ambitious £70m bid rejected during the winter transfer window but have maintained their admiration for the English centre-back, who has no shortage of suitors in the Premier League.

Guehi will enter the final year of his Selhurst Park contract next month, and Tottenham are confident of winning the race for his signature this summer.

Spurs are believed to have identified the 24-year-old as a potential replacement for Cristian Romero, who has recently been linked with a move to Atletico Madrid.

Tottenham Eyeing Palace's Marc Guehi

As Cristian Romero’s replacement

According to Mokbel, Tottenham are looking to add experience to their youthful squad this summer and plan to sign an established central midfielder along with a centre-back if Romero departs.

A move for Guehi would be a step in that direction – the 'world-class' defender has over 130 Premier League appearances and 23 England caps to his name.

Guehi has been strongly linked with a Palace exit during the past two transfer windows and was a target for Newcastle nearly a year ago.

The Eagles, who previously demanded ‘superstar money' for the 'superstar' defender, may now soften their stance with Guehi soon entering the final 12 months of his contract.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Guehi has scored two goals and provided two assists in 34 Premier League appearances this season.

Tottenham are likely to resolve Ange Postecoglou’s future before they pursue any signings, amid growing fears the Australian could lose his job despite leading Spurs to their first trophy in 17 years.

Spurs beat Manchester United 1-0 in the Europa League final in Bilbao on Wednesday night and secured qualification for next season’s Champions League.

Description

Tottenham Hotspur are ‘some way down the line’ in the process of identifying potential replacements for Ange Postecoglou, BBC journalist Sami Mokbel has revealed.

The Lilywhites are reportedly still exploring alternatives to the Australian tactician following the Europa League final win on Wednesday, which ended their 17-year wait for a trophy.

Postecoglou’s position heading into the summer remains uncertain, but Mokbel claims it ‘should become clear in the immediate future’ amid growing fears the ex-Celtic boss could be dismissed.

Tottenham Considering Postecoglou’s Future

According to Mokbel, with Champions League football to look forward to next season, Tottenham have become a significantly more attractive destination for potential managerial targets.

The likes of Thomas Frank, Andoni Iraola, Marco Silva and Oliver Glasner are still believed to be among the top contenders to take over in North London, while former Ajax boss Francesco Farioli has also emerged as a candidate in recent days.

Former managing director of football Fabio Paratici could also have a major say in Spurs’ next appointment, as he is believed to be in talks to return to the club when his 18-month suspension ends in July.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Tottenham have suffered 21 losses in 37 league games this season.

Postecoglou’s future has become a growing concern amid Tottenham’s dismal domestic campaign as they currently sit 17th in the table with one game to play.

The Lilywhites have won just once in their last 11 matches and are set to finish outside the Premier League’s top 15 for the first time in their history.

Tottenham will end their season on Sunday with a home clash against Brighton.

Why UEFA Have Apologised to Tottenham After Their Europa League Triumph

Why UEFA Have Apologised to Tottenham After Their Europa League Triumph - GiveMeSport
Description

UEFA has offered its sincerest apologies to Tottenham after the north London club won its first major honour in 17 years by beating Premier League rivals Manchester United 1-0 in the 2025 Europa League final. Brennan Johnson made the difference when he pounced on a Luke Shaw blunder at the San Mames Stadium on Wednesday night, while the rest of the United defence stood statuesque, watching the situation unfold.

Despite a barrage of second-half attacks from the Red Devils, Tottenham dug in and saw out a historic win, with Ange Postecoglou delivering on his promise to win a trophy in his sophomore campaign - something the Australian proudly highlighted in his post-match interviews.

However, while a balmy midweek night in the Basque Country provided the perfect setting for Spurs’ celebrations, a mishap on UEFA’s part meant that some players missed out on receiving their winners’ medals on the night.

UEFA Apologises To Tottenham Over Medal Shortage

Son, Romero, and Bentancur missed out on winners' medals

Aleksander Ceferin, the governing body’s president, was caught by surprise during the trophy ceremony when the medals ran out before all of Ange Postecoglou’s players had received theirs as they made their way on to the podium.

It meant that the final three players - club captain Heung-min Son, Cristian Romero, and Rodrigo Bentancur - missed out on medals on Wednesday night. UEFA said in a statement, as per Guardian:

“To our great displeasure, we did not have enough medals available on stage during the trophy ceremony presentation due to an unexpected discrepancy in the player count, as more team members – including injured players – participated in the ceremony than initially anticipated. The missing medals were promptly delivered to the winning team in the dressing room, along with our sincerest apologies for the oversight.”

The European governing body said the clubs had been informed that only 30 medals would be presented on stage to each club. It also said 20 further medals were given to the club after the ceremony for distribution to players and staff. And to further UEFA's blushes, all eight officials received their medals on time.

They will now, however, have received their medals in time for their trophy parade, which will start at 5.30pm on Friday at Fore Street in Edmonton Green, before travelling down the High Road past Tottenham Hotspur Stadium before it concludes in the stadium’s service yard on Northumberland Park.

Kevin Danso Asked to Give Message to Arsenal After Tottenham's Europa League Triumph

Spurs' Kevin Danso asked if he has a message for Arsenal after UEL win - gives brilliant answer - GiveMeSport
Description

Tottenham defender Kevin Danso gave a brilliant response when asked if he had a message for Arsenal following his side’s triumph in the 2025 Europa League final on Wednesday night. Brennan Johnson's scrappy first-half goal was enough to secure a 1-0 victory over Manchester United at Bilbao's San Mames Stadium, sealing a historic win for Ange Postecoglou’s men.

The result ended Tottenham’s 17-year trophy drought and marked their first piece of silverware on foreign soil since lifting the UEFA Cup in 1984. The victory also fulfilled Postecoglou’s bold promise to deliver a trophy in his sophomore season at the club, and he has now matched Mikel Arteta’s tally of major honours in less than half the time.

Naturally, comparisons between the two north London rivals began to surface as a result. Spurs, often criticised for falling short on big occasions, finally shattered that narrative with a resilient display in midweek. Yet, while the win undoubtedly helps fuel Tottenham fans’ bragging rights, Danso chose to take the high road in his post-match interview, offering a classy response rather than stoking rivalry with Arsenal.

Kevin Danso's Brilliant Interview After Europa League Win

The Austrian international couldn't contain his pride

One-upmanship is part and parcel of the beautiful game, but Danso wasn’t about to let his post-match interview overshadow Tottenham’s moment of glory by indulging in Arsenal mockery. The 26-year-old was reminded that Spurs’ old rivals had ended the season without a trophy once again and was asked if he had a message for them.

His response was both measured and brilliant, as he said (watch the full segment below):

"To be honest, I couldn’t care less what they do. I’m at Tottenham Hotspur and we just won the Europa League. I’m over the moon about that”

Such was the professionalism the Austrian showed, it's hard to believe Danso is only on loan from Lens. Though, after making 14 appearances since joining in the winter transfer period, the club will have an obligation to buy the versatile defender this coming summer for £21 million.

Tottenham Can Deal Man Utd Devastating Blow by Hijacking Move for 'Lethal' Star

Tottenham Can Deal Man Utd Devastating Blow by Hijacking Move for 'Lethal' Star - GiveMeSport
Description

Tottenham Hotspur's win over Manchester United in the Europa League final on Wednesday has handed the club Champions League football for the first time in three seasons, and a first trophy in 17 years after they won 1-0 in Bilbao - and it could see them trump the Red Devils further by making a move for one of United's top targets.

Ange Postecoglou delivered his promise of always winning a trophy in his second season at any club he's been at, with Brennan Johnson's goal on the stroke of half-time landing Spurs their first major honour in almost two decades - but not only has their trophy hoodoo been ended, but it will give them a place in the Champions League next season despite currently occupying 17th in the Premier League.

The Lilywhites have the chance to pile further misery on Manchester United

With that comes a chance to sign better players and more money to land targets - and Daniel Levy will be looking to open the chequebook in the summer.

That should see Spurs opt for a move for Liam Delap after we revealed that a bid was being prepared, with the Ipswich Town striker having had his breakthrough campaign in the top-flight. 12 goals for a side that has struggled in the second half of the campaign is an impressive tally, and that has seen him come onto the radar of United, Chelsea and more, being described as 'lethal' in the process.

The Red Devils in particular have made their efforts to sign him known, with reports suggesting in recent days that United have held 'face-to-face' talks with the England under-21 striker, as well as making advances to Ipswich over a £30million move, which is a release clause that has become active as a result of the Tractor Boys' relegation to the Championship.

But no European football at Old Trafford next season could cause a problem, and with Tottenham now being able to offer Delap the chance of playing Champions League football, it's a bid that they should look to hijack and pile further misery on Ruben Amorim.

Having always had Harry Kane to lead their line, the Englishman's move to Bayern Munich left a void in terms of strikers in north London - and although Dominic Solanke hasn't done terribly following last summer's move from Bournemouth, with 15 goals in 44 games, competition could be needed for the former Chelsea star.

Delap could see the north London club as the perfect breeding ground. He will, of course, want regular first-team minutes to continue after being the spearhead at Portman Road throughout the campaign, but with Spurs competing on four fronts next season, rotation will be key, and he'll be sure to feature - especially if he can hit a strong run of form.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Liam Delap has three goals in 12 games for England's under-21 side.

Delap has been touted throughout the campaign to be Kane's natural replacement in England national team circles, and the 22-year-old could be his carbon copy in both an international and club sense by following in his footsteps in north London. Should Spurs land him and give him minutes to develop at an established Premier League club, it could be the perfect move for all parties.
