Description

Tottenham Hotspur are in serious danger of missing out on long-term target Randal Kolo Muani as the Paris Saint-Germain star's preference is to return to Serie A heavyweights Juventus instead of heading to Hotspur Way, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed in his latest GIVEMESPORT newsletter.

Spurs have moved to within touching distance of adding Joao Palhinha to their squad as the Bayern Munich midfielder is preparing to undergo medical tests ahead of completing an initial loan switch which includes a £26million option to buy, but head coach Thomas Frank is in the market for further reinforcements.

Spurs Not Kolo Muani's Preferred Destination

Striker has been on north Londoners' radar for a prolonged period

Tottenham have reignited their pursuit of Kolo Muani, according to French media outlet Foot Mercato, and they are in a position to hand PSG an opportunity to get him off their books when Juventus have been struggling to seal his return following a productive loan spell in the second half of the 2024/25 campaign.

The 26-year-old striker has been unable to make his mark at the Parc des Princes since last term's Champions League winners agreed a deal worth in the region of £76million to lure him away from Eintracht Frankfurt in September 2023, resulting in admirers sniffing an opportunity to pounce ahead of the transfer deadline.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Randal Kolo Muani averaged a Serie A goal every 146 minutes during his temporary spell with Juventus

But Romano exclusively revealed in the newsletter he sent to GMS subscribers on Friday morning that Kolo Muani, who has been described as 'explosive', will only entertain embarking on a fresh challenge at Tottenham if a move back to Juventus falls through. The Italian journalist said:

"Kolo Muani has been appreciated by Tottenham since last January, but his priority is Juventus. He'd only consider other clubs if the Juventus deal collapses but, as of today, it is still on."

France international Kolo Muani still has three years remaining on his PSG contract, which allows him to pocket more than £210,000-per-week when bonuses are triggered, but it has been made clear that he is not involved in boss Luis Enrique's plans for the upcoming season and that has given Frank hope of attracting him to Tottenham.

Description

Tottenham Hotspur are set to add further to their squad after the signing of West Ham United star Mohammed Kudus, according to Fabrizio Romano - with a loan move being in place to land 'world-class' star Joao Palhinha to improve their ranks in midfield.

Spurs have already signed Kudus in a major £55million deal after two strong years at the London Stadium, whilst permanent deals have been confirmed for last season's loan duo Mathys Tel and Kevin Danso, marking a major outlay from owner Daniel Levy as he looks to bolster his squad in the coming weeks.

Romano: Palhinha to Tottenham is 'Here We Go', Medical Booked

The Portuguese star is set for a Premier League return after a year

However, despite missing out on Nottingham Forest star Morgan Gibbs-White, there are other areas of the squad that Spurs need to improve in - and defensive midfield has been added to, with Palhinha on his way for a medical in north London.

The report by Romano on X (formerly Twitter) states that Palhinha's move to Tottenham is all but complete, with the esteemed journalist giving it his 'Here We Go!' treatment as a deal moves closer to completion.

A final 'green light' has been given by Bayern Munich, who only signed him from Fulham last season, with a deal including a £25.5million buy option, although that is not mandatory for the Lilywhites.

The Portugal international will have his salary covered by Spurs, with Bayern accepting the conditions of a deal - and Palhinha will travel for medical tests before joining the north London outfit.

Tottenham have been in the market for a new holding midfielder for some time, and Palhinha joining on loan offers new boss Thomas Frank a star who has international, continental and Premier League experience, as well as history of winning trophies, taking home the Bundesliga last season as well as the Nations League with Portugal, alongside four major honours in his home nation.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Joao Palhinha has 34 caps for Portugal, scoring two goals.

The tough tackler will move into Frank's XI as Tottenham aim to massively improve their 17th-place finish in the top-flight from last season under Ange Postecoglou, their worst-ever placing in the Premier League - one that was only salvaged by their Europa League win, placing them in the Champions League after ending their 17-year drought for a trophy.

Description

Tottenham Hotspur are now on the verge of signing Bayern Munich midfielder Joao Palhinha, according to Sky Sports reporter Florian Plettenberg.

Tottenham have been relatively quiet in the summer transfer window so far, with Mohammed Kudus the only senior addition, joining the club from West Ham United. Kevin Danso and Mathys Tel have also signed permanent deals with Spurs, but both players spent last season on loan at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Up next for Spurs appears to be adding bodies in the middle of the park. The capital club have entered a new era after Thomas Frank was appointed as manager, joining the club from Brentford, while they are also preparing for the return of Champions League football after qualifying last season.

Sky Sports: Palhinha 'On the Verge' of Joining Tottenham

A deal is almost complete

Reporting on X, Sky Sports reporter Plettenberg has confirmed that Tottenham are now on the verge of completing the signing of Bayern Munich midfielder Palhinha. Only the final details remain between the former Fulham man and Spurs, with an agreement between the two clubs almost complete.

Palhinha, described as 'world-class' by journalist Dom Smith, looks set to join Thomas Frank's side on an initial loan deal, which could be a smart move for the north London club. The Portuguese international is now 30 years old, so investing a significant sum on him won't make sense from a financial perspective, but he's a player capable of making an immediate impact in the short term.

Tottenham Offered Chance to Sign 'Incredible' £50m Premier League Star - GiveMeSport
Description

Tottenham Hotspur have held talks with Fulham striker Rodrigo Muniz's representatives over a potential move in the summer transfer window, according to a report from TBR Football.

We are in the midst of an incredibly important window for Spurs after the north London club finished in 17th place in the Premier League table in the 2024/2025 season. Ange Postecoglou was subsequently sacked, despite the Australian manager winning the Europa League, with Thomas Frank entering the hot seat.

Winning the Europa League was a huge positive for Spurs, but with it came Champions League qualification. Although Frank's side will be happy to have qualified for Europe's elite club competition, there's an argument to suggest that it's come too soon after such a disappointing campaign outside of the European adventures.

Tottenham Hold Talks With Rodrigo Muniz

He's held talks over a new contract at Fulham

According to a report from TBR Football, Muniz's representatives recently spoke to Tottenham about a potential move to north London in the summer transfer window. The Brazilian forward, described as 'incredible' by Breaking The Lines, is currently in talks with Fulham over a new contract, but they are yet to reach an agreement, with interest in securing his signature now growing.

Aston Villa are also said to have held talks with Muniz's representatives, as they seek a possible replacement for Ollie Watkins, who has been linked with a departure this summer. Signing a striker might not appear to be an immediate priority for Spurs, but with Champions League football just around the corner, Frank will want quality in every position, allowing him to rotate his squad in Europe.

An addition such as Muniz, who already has plenty of Premier League experience, could be a smart move for Tottenham as they attempt to juggle competing in a host of different competitions in the 2025/2026 campaign, with Fulham valuing the Brazilian at £50m.

Alongside Palhinha: Tottenham Enter Talks to Sign £212,000-a-Week Star - GiveMeSport
Description

Tottenham Hotspur have entered talks to sign Juventus striker Randal Kolo Muani, with discussions being described as 'positive', according to journalist Santi Aouna.

It's been a fairly slow start to the summer transfer window for Thomas Frank's side, with Mohammed Kudus being their only senior addition who wasn't at the club last season. Kevin Danso and Mathys Tel have seen their loan moves turned permanent, but Frank will undoubtedly be hoping for more senior additions in the coming weeks and months.

After such a disappointing 2024/2025 season, Tottenham supporters might have been hoping to see a few more bodies already through the door at this stage of the window. Spurs won the Europa League last term despite finishing 17th in the Premier League, meaning they've qualified for the Champions League, so reinforcements will be necessary all over the pitch.

Tottenham Enter Talks to Sign Randal Kolo Muani

Discussions have been 'positive'

According to journalist Aouna, Tottenham have now entered talks to sign Juventus striker Muani. Talks between Tottenham and the £212,000-a-week earner have been described as 'positive', and it looks as though the north London club are starting to make moves in the summer market.

GIVEMESPORT sources have confirmed that Tottenham have also entered talks to sign Bayern Munich midfielder Joao Palhinha. The former Fulham star could be on his way out the door in the coming weeks, and Tottenham could look to take advantage. The additions of Kolo Muani and Palhinha would certainly be a huge boost for Spurs as we edge closer to the season restarting.

Arsenal 0-1 Tottenham: Match Highlights and Player Ratings

Arsenal 0-1 Tottenham: Match highlights and player ratings from friendly in Hong Kong - GiveMeSport
Description

Thomas Frank has guided his Tottenham Hotspur side to a victory in the first-ever north London derby to take place outside of the UK, leaving Hong Kong with a 1-0 victory against Arsenal.

As the first-ever North London derby to take place on foreign soil ensued, the opening 10 minutes presented the fans in Hong Kong with a back-and-forth contest. For Arsenal, chances for Kai Havertz and William Saliba saw the Gunners go close. However, it was Tottenham who had the best opportunity, as Pedro Porro whipped in a corner that came straight off the post, albeit because Micky van de Ven was fouling David Raya, meaning the Spaniard couldn't clear his lines.

An evenly contested fixture continued during the first half, with Arsenal caught offside more often than not as they attempted to probe the Spurs' backline with balls over the top.

Regardless, Thomas Frank's team continued to threaten. Once through Wilson Odobert, whose soft, well-placed effort into the bottom right-hand corner was stopped by the post, and not long after, another corner would hit the woodwork, with Richarlison unable to clear up on the goal line.

With the opening 45 coming to a close, a moment of magic lit up the Kai Tak Sports Park. With Myles Lewis-Skelly on the ball, Frank's side swarmed the youngster, allowing Pape Sarr to claim the ball and lob an unexpected Raya from around 40 yards, and although Arsenal emerged on top after conceding, it wasn't enough to stop Tottenham from leading going into the second half.

Much like the first half was, a very quiet and uneventful second half followed, with little to nothing occurring. Arsenal continued to grow into the game, imposing their physicality on Spurs, but to no avail. However, a real highlight occurred for Mikel Arteta's side in the 77th minute when Viktor Gyokeres came on to make his Arsenal debut, a small win on a frustrating night.

The game continued to frustrate Arsenal, who probed and probed, but a mix of an astute defensive Spurs performance and a lacklustre Gunners attack meant the game ended 1-0 to Thomas Frank's side, a victory in his first north London derby.

Match Highlights

Arsenal Player Ratings

Formation: 4-4-3

GK: David Raya - 5.5

Unable to keep composure for Tottenham's corners and caught off his line for Spurs' opening goal. The Spaniards' long balls were also ineffective.

CB: William Saliba - 6.0

A rare forgettable performance from Arsenal's Rolls-Royce.

CB: Jakub Kiwior - 6.5

He made crucial challenges throughout the game, especially in moments where his focus may have dropped following lots of possession for his side.

RB: Ben White - 6.5

Grew into the game after Wilson Odobert made life difficult in the first half.

DM: Christian Norgaard - 6.0

An unimposing performance by the Dane, who had just 21 touches despite operating in the middle of the park.

DM: Declan Rice - 6.0

Tried to impose his qualities on the game, but was ineffective in doing so.

AM: Martin Odegaard - 7.0

Seems to have recovered from prior seasons' injuries with a much more attacking presence, constantly probing and trying to make things happen.

LW: Gabriel Martinelli - 6.0

Continuing to struggle and unable to light up the left-hand side of the pitch like Arsenal need. However, he came close in the second-half to equalling the scoring.

ST: Kai Havertz - 6.5

Persistent heavy touches and unable to capitalise on the small openings he created, but won his duels well.

RW: Bukayo Saka - 6.5

Unable to impose himself on the game, with his set-pieces leaving much to be desired.

SUB: Martin Zubimendi - 6.5

Nearly made an instant impact with a lovely volley. Proved why he should've started with his cameo.

Managed just 18 minutes, but was forced off with an injury.

SUB: Oleksandr Zinchenko - 6.0

Tried to make things happen in the 13 minutes he had on the pitch.

SUB: Viktor Gyokeres - 5.5

Vital minutes into the legs of Arsenal's star man, but an uneventful cameo.

SUB: Max Dowman - 6.5

Continued his run of electric substitute performances. An electric presence who is always looking to do something.

SUB: Cristhian Mosquera - 6.0

Came on and filled in Saliba's space on the right of the defence and didn't look out of place.

SUB: Mikel Merino - 5.5

Continuing to prove his worth is seen better up the field in attacking positions, as opposed to his natural position in midfield.

SUB: Reiss Nelson - N/A

Included due to Trossard's injury, but not enough time to impose himself.

Tottenham Hotspur Player Ratings

Formation: 4-2-3-1GK: Guglielmo Vicario - 6.5

A simple shift for the Italian, who didn't have much to do.

LB: Djed Spence - 7.0

A solid showing for the full-back, who attacked and defended with confidence.

CB: Cristian Romero - 7.0

Kept a clean sheet, with an assured performance. Kept Saka, Havertz and Martinelli quiet.

CB: Micky van de Ven - 7.0

Much like Romero, van de Ven was faultless, with a close effort in the second-half nearly capping off a good performance.

RB: Pedro Porro - 7.0

Attacked well and defended better, made life hard for Martinelli.

DM: Pape Sarr - 7.5 - Player of the Match

Produced a stunning goal, in a game that needed a moment. Otherwise, a very solid shift from the midfielder.

DM: Rodrigo Bentancur - 7.0

Got an early yellow card, but didn't let that slow him down. He was seen all over the pitch, helping Spurs whenever he was needed.

AM: Lucas Bergvall - 6.5

Defended better than he attacked, with impressive success in his duels and tackles.

LW: Mohammad Kudus - 6.0

Did well when he was on the ball, but was limited to just one touch in Arsenal's box.

ST: Richarlison - 6.0

Unable to score from the goal line, in an otherwise quiet performance for the Brazilian.

RW: Wilson Odobert - 7.0

Gave Ben White a rough time in the first half, and came close when he hit the post.

SUB: Brennan Johnson - 6.0

A very quiet performance for one of Spurs' most prolific attackers.

SUB: Kevin Danso - 6.0

Helped maintain his sides clean sheet.

SUB: Mathys Tel - 6.0

Limited to just eight touches, but came on when Tottenham's attacking game was limited.

SUB: Heung-Min Son - 6.0

Had a chance to cross into the box and allow Spurs to double their advantage, but his accuracy was off. A promising run though, proving his legs can still cope with the intensity.

SUB: Yves Bissouma - 6.0

Came on to help his side to victory, and did just that.

SUB: Ben Davies - N/A

Got the clean sheet in Thomas Frank's first north London derby.

SUB: Archie Gray - N/A

Nothing of note to mention in Gray's five-minute showing.

SUB: James Maddison - N/A

Some good minutes into the legs of the Englishman.

Description

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Thomas Frank could still end up winning the race to recruit Hayden Hackney as the Middlesbrough star is tempted to snub the chance to join Ipswich Town in case he is handed an opportunity to head to Hotspur Way in the coming weeks, GIVEMESPORT sources have revealed.

Spurs have not been afraid to splash the cash as preparations are made for a season which will include Champions League action, resulting in Mohammed Kudus completing a £55million switch from rivals West Ham United as they went in search of more creativity in the final third of the pitch.

Although Tottenham were unable to land Morgan Gibbs-White, with the attacking midfielder choosing to pen a club-record contract at Nottingham Forest instead of heading to north London earlier this month, chairman Daniel Levy has given Frank the opportunity to make further alterations to the squad he inherited from predecessor Ange Postecoglou.

Hackney Tempted to Hold Out for Spurs Move

Midfielder has been given green light to hold talks with another side

Hackney is considering waiting for a move to Tottenham despite Middlesbrough accepting an offer from Championship counterparts Ipswich, according to GMS sources, as last season's Europa League winners have continued showing interest and have given indications that they may be prepared to strike a deal.

The Tractor Boys have edged towards fighting off stiff competition for the central midfielder's services as they have been given the green light to discuss personal terms after submitting a £20million bid this week, but it is not guaranteed that he will take advantage of the chance to head to Portman Road.

GMS sources have been informed that Hackney is weighing up his options after his performances during the 2024/25 campaign resulted in Tottenham and fellow Premier League heavyweights Manchester United circling, while he has acknowledged that he is preparing to make a pivotal decision which could define his career.

The European Championships-winning England under-21 international is on course to leave his boyhood club ahead of the new season and, having been described as 'hugely talented' by former Boro boss Michael Carrick, he is tempted to challenge himself in the Premier League if the opportunity arises.

Tottenham have remained in contention to land Hackney as he has doubts over whether heading to Ipswich is the right option, GMS sources have learned, and he is refusing to rush into signing on the dotted line even though Middlesbrough have given him permission to embark on a fresh challenge in Suffolk.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Hayden Hackney boasted 100 per cent pass accuracy and grabbed an assist after coming on as a substitute when the England under-21 side beat Germany in the European Championships final last month

Hackney Wants Assurances Over Game Time

England under-21 international not interested in being squad player

GMS sources have been told that Hackney is determined to be more than a squad player when he walks away from Middlesbrough, meaning that Frank will have to give assurances over the amount of game time he can expect to secure at Tottenham if he rejects a move to Ipswich.

The 23-year-old has also been wanted overseas, with his current employers turning down a £10million proposal from Porto when the Portuguese giants aimed to recruit him midway through last season, leading to him being desperate to make the right choice when he pinpoints his preferred destination.

Hackney is vying to be central to his next side's plans and is aware that he would be among the first names on the team sheet at Ipswich, GMS sources understand, but he also has a strong desire to maintain an upward momentum in his career and is eager to prove his ambition at the top level.

Tottenham and Manchester United are not the only clubs to have been keen on handing the former Scunthorpe United loanee a route into the Premier League as GMS sources recently revealed that Everton entered the race for his signature after chief David Moyes has been seeking fresh competition in the middle of the park.

Tottenham are among a host of Premier League clubs eyeing a summer move for Al-Hilal striker Aleksandar Mitrovic, according to Fichajes.

The Lilywhites, along with Manchester United and Newcastle, are reportedly monitoring the 30-year-old forward as a potential option up front, having been attracted by Mitrovic’s experience and goal-scoring prowess.

Al-Hilal have set an asking price of around €30m (£26m) for the striker this summer and are ready to make a loss, having signed him from Fulham for £46m two seasons ago.

Mitrovic has been scoring goals for fun at Al-Hilal since joining, netting 68 times in 79 appearances across all competitions.

Tottenham Considering Aleksandar Mitrovic

Among Premier League clubs keen on the 30-year-old

According to Fichajes, Mitrovic is ‘seriously considering’ the possibility of returning to England after two strong seasons in Saudi and would bring significant experience to any top-flight club.

The 30-year-old has previously plied his trade in the Premier League with Fulham and Newcastle, amassing 129 appearances and scoring 38 goals.

Mitrovic is believed to be one of the best-paid players in the world, earning around £416,000 per week at Al-Hilal, where he remains under contract until June 2026.

The ‘monster’ striker finished as the Saudi Pro League’s sixth-highest goalscorer last season with 19, behind the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Ivan Toney and Karim Benzema.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Mitrovic has scored 62 goals in 100 appearances for Serbia.

Tottenham are anticipating a busy end to the summer transfer window, as they are believed to be on the lookout for further reinforcements to Thomas Frank’s squad.

According to reports, the Europa League winners are considering a summer move for Manchester United outcast Alejandro Garnacho, who has been identified as a potential replacement for captain Heung-min Son.

West Ham United are showing an interest in recruiting Yves Bissouma from Tottenham Hotspur as head coach Graham Potter continues seeking to make adjustments to his options in the middle of the park at the London Stadium, according to Gazzetta dello Sport via Sport Witness.

The Hammers have already done business with their arch-rivals since the summer transfer window opened for business, with Mohammed Kudus being allowed to complete a £55million move to Spurs earlier this month, and they are tempted to hold further negotiations as the new season edges closer.

Potter Considers Attempt to Recruit Bissouma

Hammers would face competition from Italian heavyweights

West Ham are eyeing a shock move to sign Bissouma, according to Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport via Sport Witness, and they are contemplating whether to get involved in a tussle with Serie A heavyweights Juventus by upping the ante and lodging a formal offer for his signature.

The defensive-minded midfielder, who is on a contract which allows him to pocket £100,000-per-week, is facing an uncertain future in his current surroundings and that has resulted in admirers sniffing an opportunity to pounce as the September 1 summer transfer deadline approaches.

Tottenham will find it difficult to command a lucrative fee as Bissouma has entered the final 12 months of his deal, the report suggests, and West Ham are considering him as a potential acquisition after he was described as 'ridiculous' by teammate James Maddison thanks to his ability on the ball.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Yves Bissouma won eight duels and made six clearances during Tottenham Hotspur's Europa League final victory over Manchester United in May

The Mali international has been on Spurs' books since sealing a switch worth up to £35million from Premier League counterparts Brighton & Hove Albion in June 2022, but there is a possibility that he will fall down the pecking order as new boss Thomas Frank attempts to make his mark.

Juventus have earmarked Bissouma as a low-cost option on the market due to Tottenham's willingness to offload him - the report claims - and West Ham are threatening to go head-to-head with the Italian giants for an agreement as Potter looks to build on the defensive signings of Kyle Walker-Peters and El Hadji Malick Diouf, with the latter costing £19million.

GMS sources recently revealed that the 28-year-old is expected to embark on a fresh challenge as Spurs do not want to run the risk of him walking away as a free agent at the end of the upcoming season, leaving the door ajar for the Hammers to raid their rivals in the coming weeks.

Description

Tottenham Hotspur are ready to pay £60m to sign Bournemouth defender Illia Zabarnyi, despite the Ukrainian international agreeing a five-year deal with Paris Saint-Germain, according to RMC Sport.

It's been a relatively slow start to the summer transfer window for Spurs, who appointed Thomas Frank following the sacking of Ange Postecoglou. Mohammed Kudus has arrived through the door from West Ham United, while any other additions confirmed have only been loan signings being turned permanent, or non-senior reinforcements.

After such a disappointing Premier League campaign last time out, finishing 17th in England's top flight, further reinforcements will be necessary to help Frank build a squad capable of climbing back into the top half. With a new manager comes a new system, so Spurs will have to find players who will fit with what Frank is trying to build at the north London club.

Tottenham Ready to Pay £60m to Hjiack PSG Move

Zabarnyi has agreed a five-year deal with PSG

According to a report from RMC Sport, Tottenham are ready to pay £60m to sign Bournemouth defender Zabarnyi. The Ukrainian centre-back has already agreed a five-year deal with PSG, and he only wants to join the Ligue 1 outfit, but the two clubs are yet to agree a fee. This is where Spurs could swoop in if they are prepared to cough up the cash, but it will depend on whether Zabarnyi would be open to joining Frank's side if a move to PSG falls through.

Zabarnyi, described as 'unbelievable' by Philip Billing, is in demand during the summer transfer window, and it's no surprise considering the performances he produced for the Cherries during the 2024/2025 season. The 22-year-old formed an impressive partnership alongside Dean Huijsen, despite the duo being new to the Premier League and having minimal senior experience, but neither player looked out of place as they flourished under Andoni Iraola.
