Description

Tottenham fans have been quick to react to the club’s Champions League ticket prices, with opinions split over whether the cost of attending matches at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is fair or simply another case of supporters being priced out.

Tottenham Hotspur have returned to the UEFA Champions League after missing out on the competition in the last two seasons, and there is genuine excitement amongst fans who are eager to see the club back on Europe’s biggest stage.

The Champions League draw was met with a fair degree of optimism by Tottenham supporters, many believing it to be a decent set of fixtures for the Europa League champions, with a mix of testing ties and more favourable ones.

With the competition set to begin later this month, attention has now turned to ticket prices, as Spurs confirmed the pricing structure for each of their league phase home matches.

Tottenham reveal ticket categories for Champions League fixtures

According to the club’s official website, Tottenham’s tie against Villarreal has been listed as Category B, FC Copenhagen and Slavia Prague are Category C, while Borussia Dortmund has been placed in Category A.

This announcement has triggered a wave of responses from supporters, with opinions divided on whether the prices represent good value for money or not.

One season ticket holder wrote: “So I have got to pay over £100 to watch us against Dortmund for my season ticket seat? These are s***e prices mate.”

Another argued: “You are serious? They should all be Cat C for this initial round.” A different fan suggested an alternative: “They should offer a deal. £200 or less for all games for season ticket holders.”

Others were more blunt, with one adding: “£99 for Dortmund at home? Absolute disgrace, my Champions League semi-final ticket was cheaper.”

Another fan questioned the value by writing: “Great pricing? You taking the piss? That will be 80 odd quid for a Dortmund ticket.” While one more added: “Absolutely not great prices, but fans like me will still be ripped off for their money.”

Tottenham Champions League fixtures confirmed

Tottenham’s UEFA Champions League fixture schedule has been confirmed, with the club’s first group stage match coming against Villarreal on 16 September at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

There are two fixtures for Spurs this month, the second being a tough away trip to Bodo/Glimt in Norway on Tuesday, 30 September.

Here is the full breakdown of Tottenham’s UEFA Champions League schedule:

Description

The pricing category for tickets to each of Tottenham’s four home games in the league phase of the Champions League has now been announced.

Tottenham found out their opponents in the opening round of the Champions League last week, with the draw being reasonably favourable for the Lilywhites.

Many Spurs fans are optimistic about their side’s chances after the Champions League draw, and some feel that the club have an excellent chance of finishing in the top eight and sealing direct qualification to the round of 16.

The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium will be rocking for the home games as the competition returns to the venue after two years, and the club have now confirmed the pricing of the tickets.

Ticket pricing for Tottenham’s Champions League games

Tottenham take on Villarreal CF, CF Copenhagen, SK Slavia Praha and Borussia Dortmund at home, while they travel to Bodo/Glimt, AS Monaco, Paris Saint-Germain and Eintracht Frankfurt.

The Lilywhites will feel that all four home games are winnable, although Villarreal and Borussia Dortmund are no slouches, with both sides having European pedigree.

Spurs have announced on their official website that each home league phase fixture will be priced as follows:

Additionally, the club revealed that season ticket holders and One Hotspur Members will be awarded 3 ticketing points for attending this fixture.

Tottenham need to win their home matches

Away games in Europe, particularly in the Champions League, are never easy. Paris Saint-Germain and Eintracht Frankfurt will pose issues for Spurs, while Monaco and Bodo/Glimt will not be walkovers either.

That is why Tottenham have to get close to maximum points from their home games in order to give themselves a chance of finishing in the top eight.

The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium can be an extremely intimidating atmosphere when the fans find their voice, and supporters need to play a part in making the venue a fortress in the Champions League.

Luka Vuskovic makes big Tottenham reveal after joining Hamburg on loan - Spurs Web
Description

Luka Vuskovic has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur offered him the option to stay at the club, but explained why he chose to go out on loan this season.

Vuskovic’s stock has risen drastically since Spurs signed him two years ago, with the teenager impressing everyone with his maturity and composure during his loan spell in Belgium with Westerlo last term.

He carried that confidence into pre-season with Tottenham and impressed in the friendlies, leading some Spurs fans to wonder if he was already ready to make the step up.

However, in the end, Vuskvoic completed a season-long loan move to Hamburg, and the youngster has now shed light on why he made the decision.

Luka Vuskovic reveals he rejected Tottenham’s offer to stay

The 18-year-old will look to aid the newly-promoted Bundesliga side in their efforts to stay up, and he will share the dressing room with his older brother, Marco, who plays for the German club.

Vuskovic has now confessed that Tottenham offered him a chance to stay and be a bit-part player this season, but revealed that he was keen to play regularly to continue his development.

The Spurs man told Germanijak about his switch to the north German club: “They (Tottenham) offered me the option to stay, to play in case of injury or cup games. But I wanted consistent playing time. They have Romero and Van de Ven, two of the best centre-backs in the world right now.

MORE SPURS STORIES

“I believe in myself, but it’s really hard to play next to them. I’ve faced them and realised I need to work harder. A lot of work and a bit of luck, and I’ll return.”

Vuskovic impressed his Spurs teammates and staff

Vuskovic has been praised by some of his senior Tottenham teammates, with the teenager clearly making an impression in pre-season.

The fact that Frank offered him a chance to stay and play cup games is further evidence that the coaching staff at Spurs see him as first-team material.

Looking at Tottenham’s Premier League fixtures before and after Champions League games - Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham Hotspur’s Champions League campaign kicks off very soon, and the fixture list shows that Thomas Frank’s men face a real challenge, with some big European fixtures sandwiched between tough Premier League matches.

Tottenham found out their Champions League league phase opponents last week, and while there are some tough fixtures in there, overall it was a fairly favourable draw.

Spurs fans believe their side has a great chance of qualifying for the knockout stages of the Champions League on the back of their draw.

However, there are no easy games in Europe’s premier club competition, and Thomas Frank’s men will have to navigate a challenging schedule over the coming months.

With the Champions League in its new format, involving eight matches instead of the previous six, the Lilywhites will have to play twice a week, nearly every week, over the next few months.

Tottenham’s tricky Premier League and Champions League schedule

Spurs have a relatively straightforward start to their Champions League campaign, starting at home to Villarreal and then travelling to Bodo/Glimt and Monaco, before hosting Copenhagen.

If the North Londoners can win their first four games, they will put themselves in a great position to qualify for the knockout stages.

MORE SPURS STORIES

However, the challenge for Spurs would be rotating their squad efficiently through the league phase, with the European clashes being interrupted by some tough Premier League fixtures.

Thomas Frank has set Tottenham the aim of being competitive in all four competitions, and he will have to use his resources smartly to achieve that goal.

Tottenham’s Premier League fixtures that precede and succeed every Champions League match:

West Ham United vs Tottenham Hotspur: 13 September

Spurs vs Villarreal: 16th September

Tottenham Hotspur vs Wolves: 28th September

Bodo/Glimt vs Spurs: 30th September

Leeds United vs Tottenham Hotspur: 4th October

Tottenham Hotspur vs Aston Villa: 19th October

Monaco vs Spurs: 22nd October

Everton vs Tottenham Hotspur: 26th October

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea: 1st November

Spurs vs Copenhagen: 4th November

Tottenham Hotspur vs Man United: 8th November

Arsenal vs Tottenham Hotspur: 22nd November

Paris Saint-Germain vs Spurs: 26th November

Tottenham Hotspur vs Fulham: 29th November

Tottenham Hotspur vs Brentford: 6th December

Spurs vs Slavia Praha: 9th December

Nottingham Forest vs Tottenham Hotspur: 13th December

Tottenham Hotspur vs West Ham United: 17th January, 2026

Spurs vs Borussia Dortmund: 20th January, 2026

Burnley vs Tottenham Hotspur: 24th January, 2026

Eintracht Frankfurt vs Spurs: 29th January, 2026

Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester City: 31st January, 2026

Why Spurs’ fixture list could make or break them

Overall, one has to say that Spurs’ fixture list is relatively kind, with fairly winnable games preceding and succeeding their Champions League fixtures, with the only exception being back-to-back trips to the Emirates and Parc des Princes.

The fixture list could have been worse for Spurs, and the ordering of the club’s Champions League fixtures is both good news and bad news for the club.

Spurs’ four toughest European fixtures are their last four, with their opening four being the easiest on paper. That is great news for Frank’s men if they win their first four games.

However, should they start the tournament poorly, they will be in a lot of trouble, as it is going to be difficult for them to get more than six points from their final four league phase fixtures.

Tottenham fans are all saying the same thing about avoiding Crystal Palace - Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham fans have been left frustrated after another transfer breakdown, and the mood around the Spurs faithful is very clear – they do not want the club to deal with Crystal Palace again.

It has been an eventful summer transfer window for Tottenham Hotspur, who were able to strengthen key areas of their squad while also moving on players who were no longer part of the plans.

Six signings were confirmed across the summer, as the new Tottenham boss Thomas Frank looked to add quality and depth in positions that required it, while several departures ensured the squad was trimmed down ahead of the new season.

Amongst the outgoings, Bryan Gil sealed a permanent move to Girona for £8.5 million on deadline day, while Manor Solomon found himself at the centre of a failed transfer saga, with Crystal Palace coming close to completing a deal before it collapsed after both sides exchanged transfer sheets.

Tottenham fans react to Crystal Palace transfer saga

Spurs supporters have now shared their reactions to the latest fiasco involving Crystal Palace, and many of them have made their feelings clear about not wanting to see the club engage in business with the south London side again.

One fan wrote: “Never deal with Palace again.” Another added: “Parish is on the naughty list istg,” while a third supporter commented: “Not the first time this window.”

Others could not understand why Tottenham were still trying to push through deals with Palace after past issues, with one fan pointing out: “Do not know why we would do business with this club after what happened with Eze.”

MORE SPURS STORIES

Another frustrated fan said: “Man, Palace are trying very hard to make me dislike them. I really do not want to but they are trying hard,”

while another added: “Stop doing business with slippery Parish.” The general feeling was summed up in the most common line repeated by the fanbase: “Do not ever deal with Palace again.”

Solomon joins Villarreal as Spurs move on

Palace and Tottenham had looked to do business together earlier this summer when Spurs tried to complete the signing of Eberechi Eze, but that deal fell through with Arsenal eventually landing the Englishman.

That of course, has added to the frustration of Tottenham fans. However, despite the late collapse of a deal with Crystal Palace, Spurs still managed to find a solution for Manor Solomon, with the winger securing a loan move to Villarreal for the season.

Tottenham Hotspur officially complete £8.5m deadline day sale

Tottenham Hotspur officially complete £8.5m deadline day sale - Spurs Web
Description

All eyes have been on Randal Kolo Muani today at Tottenham Hotspur, but there has also been an £8.5m outgoing in N17.

Bryan Gil was widely seen as one of the best young talents in Spanish football when Tottenham Hotspur secured his services back in 2021.

However, successive Spurs managers have deemed him not to be ready for the Premier League, and he has been shipped on loan to La Liga time and again.

It always looked certain that the winger would leave this window, with Gil himself admitting earlier this summer that he would not continue at Tottenham.

Bryan Gil returns to Girona

Some sources had reported over recent days that Tottenham may release Gil after failing to find a buyer for him; however, the Lilywhites were finally able to agree a sale on deadline day.

Spurs have confirmed that Bryan Gil is set to join Girona on a permanent transfer, after impressing at the La Liga club on loan last season.

Girona turned down the option to buy Gil €15m (£12.5m) earlier this summer, and that has now proven to be the smart choice, with the club now getting the Spurs man for just £8.5m in the end.

MORE SPURS STORIES

A statement on the official Spurs site read: “We have reached agreement with La Liga side Girona for the permanent transfer of Bryan Gil.

“Having joined the Club from Sevilla in July, 2021, Bryan made his debut for us in a UEFA Conference League fixture against Paços de Ferreira the following month.

“Later spending time on loan at Valencia, Sevilla and Girona, he made a total of 43 appearances in our colours.

“We wish Bryan all the best for the future.”

It never quite worked out for Gil at Spurs

Tottenham thought they were investing in one of the most exciting young talents in Spanish football when they scooped up Bryan Gil in 2021.

Fast forward four years, and Gil only ever made 43 appearances in Lilywhite, failing to ever score a competitive goal for Spurs. In fact, he has never scored more than four goals for any club he has represented in his career.

Now 24 years old and clearly not built for the Premier League, an exit always seemed inevitable this summer. Gil needs a consistent and permanent home in order to rediscover his spark, and hopefully, that can be Girona.

Description

Tottenham Hotspur thought they may have completed one more transfer outgoing just in the nick of time before the window slammed shut.

While most of the focus for Spurs fans on deadline day was about who could arrive through the door, the club also had a busy day in terms of moving players around.

We know that Manor Solomon, Yves Bissouma and Bryan Gil had been deemed surplus to requirements by Thomas Frank, but it appeared as if the Lilywhites would have a hard time offloading the Israeli winger.

This is because sources indicated that Solomon preferred to remain at Spurs beyond the end of the transfer window after being named on the bench against Bournemouth, but the player’s chances of leaving the club on loan have fallen through late in the day.

Manor Solomon’s loan move to Crystal Palace collapses

On Monday morning, it was reported that Crystal Palace had approached Tottenham over landing Solomon.

The report added that Spurs were willing to offload the 26-year-old, who was weighing up his options in the final hours of the transfer window.

Football.London have revealed that Solomon’s loan move to Selhurst Park has collapsed, despite a deal sheet having been submitted to take the move beyond the 7pm window.

MORE SPURS STORIES

The completion of the deal sheet gave both clubs an extra two hours to get the deal over the line and despite Tottenhama agreeing to Palace’s terms, the South London club decided to pull out late on.

We never saw Manor Solomon’s best in a Tottenham shirt

Fans will have their own opinion on whether Solomon is ever good enough for a club with Champions League aspirations, but the winger showed at Fulham that he can be a formidable Premier League player.

The 26-year-old never really got a chance to have a run in the Tottenham side due to the injuries he suffered and may now have a chance to impress.

He will return to Tottenham training with a point to prove, unless he decides on a loan move abroad.

Three winners and three losers from Tottenham defeat to Bournemouth

Three winners and three losers from Tottenham defeat to Bournemouth - Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham Hotspur’s unbeaten start under Thomas Frank came to an abrupt end at home against Bournemouth, and we have highlighted the biggest winners and losers from the latest defeat.

Tottenham Hotspur missed an opportunity to go top of the Premier League table after suffering a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Bournemouth.

That defeat ended Thomas Frank’s perfect start to life in the Premier League, as his side suffered a disappointing loss at the hands of a relentless Andoni Iraola’s Bournemouth side.

The international break curse continues for Tottenham, who now go into yet another break off the back of a defeat, after last winning a match before the break back in October 2023.

We have now picked out our three winners and three losers from Tottenham’s 1-0 defeat to Bournemouth.

Xavi Simons – evident to see his creativity is desperately needed

It says a lot when one of the biggest winners from a clash is a player who did not even feature in the fixture on the day, yet that was the case with Tottenham as Xavi Simons came out of the weekend looking more important than ever.

MORE SPURS STORIES

During the match, Spurs struggled to carve out any meaningful chances and failed to hit the target throughout the first half, with their attacking play looking slow, predictable and without any real invention.

It was not until the second half that Tottenham registered their only shot on target, which only underlined their desperate need for more creativity, and with Simons signed for exactly that reason, he should very much go straight into the Tottenham team.

Guglielmo Vicario’s strong performance in the Tottenham goal

If there were any doubts in Frank’s mind about his first-choice goalkeeper, yesterday’s display from Guglielmo Vicario would have put them to bed, as the Italian was easily one of Tottenham’s brighter performers in what was a poor overall team showing.

Bournemouth dominated long spells of the game and the scoreline could easily have been stretched to three or four had it not been for Vicario’s interventions, with the goalkeeper making five saves, four of those coming inside the penalty box.

It was a commanding performance between the sticks and a timely reminder of his qualities, with his efforts the only reason Tottenham did not leave with a heavier defeat.

Destiny Udogie cameo offers competition at full-back for Spurs

Another winner from that clash was Destiny Udogie, who, despite playing only a short spell, offered far more on the left than Pedro Porro did across the ninety minutes on the opposite flank.

It was his first competitive appearance since the Europa League final, yet Udogie looked sharp, confident and physically ready, hardly resembling a player who had been sidelined for so long.

His return now puts pressure on the full-back positions, as Frank’s options are greatly improved, given Djed Spence’s ability to fill on the right, allowing him to serve as competition for Porro, while Udogie could slot in on the left.

And now for the three losers of the afternoon…

Pedro Porro looked shaky against Semenyo

As for the losers, Pedro Porro unfortunately was one, as it was not a game to remember for the full-back, who had a torrid time dealing with Antoine Semenyo down the right side of the Tottenham defence.

The Ghana international was direct and relentless, constantly running at Porro whenever he had the opportunity, and the Spaniard failed to contain him throughout.

To make matters worse, Bournemouth’s winning goal came from his side of the pitch, which is never a good look, and it was the kind of performance Porro will want to quickly forget.

Brennan Johnson – another ineffective performance

While Porro struggled defensively, Brennan Johnson was equally disappointing further forward, offering very little threat from the left wing and rarely beating his man in one-on-one situations.

His decision-making in the final third was lacking, often failing to pick out runners, while his passing was wasteful and short of the quality required at this level, which left Tottenham blunt in attack.

Johnson’s best attribute remains arriving at the back post to finish off chances, but when he is not scoring goals, it becomes difficult to see how he contributes to the overall play, which explains why he was one of the first to be substituted.

Daniel Levy – Pressure is firmly back on the Tottenham chairman

For Daniel Levy, the defeat served as another stark reminder of Tottenham’s shortcomings and the reality check that this squad is still some way off competing across all fronts.

There is a glaring need for more quality in wide areas, as Johnson and Richarlison were ineffective and struggled to hold possession, while the lack of creativity in midfield remains a pressing concern.

Simons may solve the number ten issue, but Spurs still require more attacking depth, and with the transfer window closing soon, Levy must deliver a winger of real quality to ensure Frank is not left short of options once the season gets into its decisive stretch.

Tottenham officially confirm summer signing number six on transfer deadline day

Tottenham officially confirm summer signing number six on transfer deadline day - Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham have confirmed a late swoop in the transfer window as Randal Kolo Muani joins the club, after snubbing Spurs eight months ago.

So far this summer window, Tottenham Hotspur have completed the permanent signing of three players, with Xavi Simons, Mohammed Kudus and Kota Takai all added to the squad.

Kevin Danso and Mathys Tel, who initially joined on loan in the winter, also had their deals made permanent, while Joao Palhinha arrived on loan as Spurs sought to bolster their midfield.

With only a few hours left before the British summer window slams shut, Tottenham are not finished strengthening their squad, and they have now wrapped up another deal that adds further depth.

Tottenham confirm Randal Kolo Muani transfer from PSG

After several hours of talks and enquiries, Tottenham Hotspur have officially confirmed the signing of Kolo Muani from Paris Saint-Germain, with the forward completing a loan move to north London and will wear the number 39 shirt.

The 26-year-old arrives on a temporary basis for the 2025/26 season, with no option or obligation for Spurs to make the transfer permanent once the loan expires.

Tottenham had shown strong interest in Muani during the winter window under former boss Ange Postecoglou, but at the time, the French striker opted for a short spell at Juventus instead.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Now, with six months gone, Spurs have finally secured his signature despite further interest from the Italian side.

Kolo Muani had a solid spell in Italy last season, with the forward scoring eight goals in 16 Serie A appearances.

Kolo Muani move adds vital depth for Spurs

The signing of Muani could prove a shrewd piece of business for Tottenham, especially with concerns over Dominic Solanke’s ankle injury, which may leave Frank short of firepower in attack if the issue proves more serious than first expected.

Reports suggest Solanke might require surgery, potentially ruling him out for longer than the two weeks Thomas Frank had initially anticipated, which only underlines the importance of securing another option in the forward line.

The Europa League winners are preparing to compete in the UEFA Champions League, and much of their summer business has focused on players with experience at the very top level.

Muani fits that profile, having featured in the Champions League with Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus, and his arrival ensures Frank has another proven option as Spurs aim to compete on all fronts this campaign.

Alasdair Gold shares disappointing transfer update for Tottenham fans before window shuts - Spurs Web
Description

Alasdair Gold has revealed whether Tottenham Hotspur are expected to sign any more players before the 7 pm transfer deadline and explains why the club’s pursuit of a winger and a centre-back has gone cold over recent hours.

When Spurs fans woke up this morning, hardly anyone would have expected Tottenham to complete a deal for Randal Kolo Munai, with the transfer taking many by surprise.

The Lilywhites’ move for the Frenchman was perhaps partly down to the fact that Dominic Solanke’s injury is worse than initially feared. That may explain why it is a straight loan without an option or obligation to buy.

Some sources have said over recent hours that Spurs are not ruling out a late signing of a centre-back or a winger, but a fresh update has now suggested that those moves are unlikely.

Randal Kolo Muani is expected to be Tottenham’s final signing of the summer

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has now said that the French international is expected to be the final player to arrive through the door at Tottenham on transfer deadline day, barring any late surprises.

The journalist explains that Spurs had been exploring various options for a centre-back and a winger today, but none of the names high up on the club’s transfer list were available.

Additionally, he reasoned that the centre-backs that Thomas Frank would have wanted may not have wanted to play second-fiddle to Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven, with Spurs deciding to keep their powder dry.

Why Tottenham have done the right thing by not panic buying

Fans always want to see more bodies through the door as they get a big dopamine hit when new signings are made, particularly on deadline day.

However, it would not make sense to spend big on players whom Frank and the Tottenham recruitment department are not 100 per cent convinced about.

Spurs would be better off going back in for the likes of Savinho or Rafael Leao in January rather than settling for a less ideal option right now.
