Description

Archie Gray has made an admission about Luca Williams-Barnett that will get Tottenham Hotspur fans very excited.

Tottenham’s routine 3-0 win against Doncaster Rovers in the third round of the Carabao Cup will likely be forgotten by most Spurs fans quickly, given the context of the game and the lack of intensity.

However, one man who will not forget it for the rest of his life is Luca Williams-Barnett, who admitted back in April that he dreams of making his Tottenham debut.

His dream was perhaps realised much earlier than he would have imagined, with the 16-year-old replacing Mathys Tel for the final few minutes of Wednesday’s encounter.

Archie Gray is excited about Luca Williams-Barnett at Tottenham

Archie Gray has insisted that the teenager may have announced himself with a debut goal if he had got some more minutes under his belt.

The 19-year-old revealed that the attacking midfielder has impressed everyone in training and admitted that he was delighted to see him make his senior bow.

When asked about Williams-Barnett’s debut, Gray told Football.London: “I think if he had 10 more minutes, he could have scored. I was saying to him at the end, if he had a few more chances to get at the full back.

MORE SPURS STORIES

“We’ve seen him in training, he’s so sharp, and it’s so exciting to see young players like that come through and do well in games and get given chances. I was once in his position, so I know what it’s like, so I’ll be helping him all the way.”

Thomas Frank has sung the praises of Williams-Barnett

Before Wednesday’s game, Frank admitted that Williams-Barnett has impressed him and his coaching staff in training so far.

Following his side’s 3-0 win, the Tottenham boss said that it was a privilege to be the one who handed Williams-Barnett his debut.

Based on those words and what Gray has said, it is clear that the feeling internally at Spurs is that they have a special talent on their hands.

Description

Teddy Sheringham has made a big claim about Harry Kane’s chances of returning to Tottenham Hotspur after the 2026 World Cup.

According to various reports, Tottenham are ready to activate their first refusal clause for Kane if the striker decides he wants to return to the club next summer.

Even Thomas Frank has admitted that he would love to have Kane back at Spurs if the centre-forward decides he wants to come back to his boyhood club.

According to reports from Germany, Kane can leave Bayern Munich for £57m as per a clause in his contract, but he would have to inform the German giants of his decision before the end of January.

Teddy Sheringham claims Tottenham will be the obvious choice for Harry Kane

The Lilywhites will not have a free run at the 32-year-old, with reports indicating that Chelsea and Barcelona will challenge Spurs for Kane next summer if the striker becomes available.

However, Teddy Sheringham believes that returning to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium will be the obvious choice for the England captain.

The former Spurs striker told Coin Poker: “It’ll be interesting if Harry Kane returns to England. Football can change very quickly, so to say where he could go next at the season is anyone’s guess. Despite his age, he’d still be one of the most sought-after players in world football if he were to become available.

MORE SPURS STORIES

“The way it’s looking for Manchester United, they still could do with a player like him, but I think it’s unlikely that they would get him.

“For me, Tottenham would be the obvious choice. I couldn’t see why the club wouldn’t want him back if that became a possibility, and I’m sure the Spurs supporters would welcome him back with open arms.”

What Bayern Munich and Harry Kane are thinking about the future

Reports from Germany have claimed over recent months that the Bayern hierarchy fears this will be Kane’s final season in Bavaria.

However, sources close to Kane have made it clear that he intends to compete at the highest level for major trophies.

That means that Tottenham may have to show that they can compete for top honours this season to convince their record goalscorer that he can continue winning silverware at N17.

Thomas Frank breaks silence on Tottenham takeover speculation after £4.5 billion twist - Spurs Web
Description

Thomas Frank has been at Tottenham for only a short while, yet already he has had to address the uncertainty that comes with change at the boardroom level, and now he has spoken out on the takeover rumours surrounding the club.

Thomas Frank has only just settled into his role as Tottenham manager, but he has already seen upheaval behind the scenes with a change at the very top of the club.

Daniel Levy, who had been chairman for a quarter of a century, departed not long after helping to oversee the summer transfer business, bringing an end to a significant era in north London.

Frank, who was brought in under Levy’s watch, now finds himself working closely with CEO Vinai Venkatesham, and while he has been adjusting to the new dynamic, further speculation has emerged regarding a potential takeover.

Thomas Frank addresses Tottenham takeover talk

It has been widely reported that a United States consortium has submitted a world-record £4.5 billion takeover bid, a deal that would rank as one of the most significant in football history.

However, sources close to the Lewis family remain adamant that Tottenham Hotspur is not for sale.

Ahead of Tottenham’s clash with Wolves, Thomas Frank has spoken publicly for the first time about the reports of a possible change of ownership at the club.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Speaking to football.london, Frank admitted that the swift changes since his arrival had surprised him, while stressing that he still feels a sense of stability around the club.

He said: “I am to start with very stable, Daniel had been here 25 years and then change came. OK, I did not expect that. Since then the Lewis family has been very good, very transparent that club is not for sale. For me personally, I feel in a very stable environment.”

The structure of the proposal is said to include £3.3 billion to buy out ENIC and the Lewis family, with an additional £1.2 billion earmarked as a player budget to cover transfers, wages and agent fees, supposedly available to Frank from the start of the January transfer window.

Stability key for Frank as Spurs boss

For Frank, a stable environment is vital if he is to concentrate fully on his responsibilities as manager, because any takeover speculation can naturally bring fresh questions about whether he is the right man to lead Spurs into a new era.

The Lewis family, however, have already made it clear that Tottenham is not on the market, stating that they remain committed to delivering success on the pitch for the club and its supporters.

Tottenham board hold first meeting since Daniel Levy’s exit, with an interesting Lewis family decision

Tottenham board hold first meeting since Daniel Levy's exit, with an interesting Lewis family decision - Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham Hotspur held their first board meeting of the post-Daniel Levy era on Friday, but the Lewis Family were not directly involved.

Levy was in charge of Tottenham for 24 years, and in that time, he oversaw an impressive off-pitch transformation at the club, but had trouble translating that to on-pitch success, particularly since 2019.

The Lewis family have said that they want to usher in a new era of on-pitch success at Tottenham, which sees the club compete for the biggest trophies in the game.

However, some experts have warned that Levy’s exit leaves a big vacuum at Spurs, and a new report has now explained the challenges the new leadership structure is facing while transitioning.

Who is calling the shots at Tottenham?

The Athletic have now revealed that Peter Charrington chaired the first meeting of the post-Levy board on Friday, marking a historic break with the last 24 years.

However, the report makes it clear that it is CEO Vinai Venkatesham who is now the most important individual at Spurs, having been given full control to steer the wheel.

The first official meeting of the new-look board also included operations and finance director Matthew Collecott and independent director Jonathan Turner.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Vivienne Lewis and her son-in-law Nick Beucher will meet the Tottenham staff at an event after the meeting, and will also attend the Premier League game against Wolves on Saturday.

While the Lewis family have the ultimate power, they do not want to get their hands dirty on the day-to-day operations, which will be overseen by Venkatesham, who will also serve as the public face of the club.

The report explains that Levy created a particular personal culture at Tottenham as he had ultimate power, and Spurs have faced challenges in finding a new way of working and organising the club after his departure.

The club are now trying to transition from their old model of an all-powerful executive chairman to one where the executive team is empowered.

Daniel Levy’s work was under the scanner from the start of 2025

The Athletic say that while Levy’s sacking may have come as a shock to the former Tottenham chairman, it was in the pipeline for a long time.

It is revealed that the Lewis family had increased their scrutiny of the club’s affairs since the start of the calendar year and were trying to find out why Spurs were underperforming on the pitch.

In fact, the significant staffing changes, including the appointment of Charrington to the club’s board and Venketeasham as the CEO, were done with Levy’s potential exit in mind.

The Lewis family had even hired a United States-based management consultancy firm, Gibb River, to speak to senior staff at Tottenham to ascertain what was going wrong at the club.

Tottenham fans left confused after fresh £4.5 billion takeover rumours

Tottenham fans left confused after fresh £4.5 billion takeover rumours - Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham fans have been left divided as fresh takeover reports resurface, with talk of a record-breaking bid sparking considerable debate across the fanbase.

Talk of a potential takeover of Tottenham Hotspur refuses to die down, despite the Lewis family’s consistent stance that the club is not for sale.

Spurs are clearly in a new era at the moment, with the reshaping of the boardroom more or less sealed following Daniel Levy’s departure, and a fresh sense of uncertainty now surrounds what could come next.

Recent reports have now claimed that a US consortium has launched a world-record £4.5 billion takeover bid for Tottenham, which would be one of the largest transactions in football history.

They are understood to be offering £3.3 billion to buy out ENIC and the Lewis family, with a further £1.2 billion ringfenced as a “player budget” to cover wages, fees and agent payments, and this would supposedly be available to Thomas Frank from the opening of the January window.

Tottenham fans react to takeover reports

Tottenham fans have not held back in their response to the latest claims, with many voicing doubts over the credibility of such a proposal.

One fan asked: “Is it April 1st?” while another added: “Are you serious? If so, we will show what money can do.” A third commented: “Not happening.”

MORE SPURS STORIES

Another Tottenham fan was left questioning the financial side of the story: “How can they put £1.2 billion into a player’s budget? Clubs are on a PSR restriction. If not, Newcastle could buy anybody.”

Others were more blunt with their views. One supporter posted: “Sell. Sell. Sell. We need owners that will invest and make it possible for us to win the Premier League and the Champions League.”

Another remained unconvinced by the timing of the reports, writing: “As if a takeover would be complete by January.”

This is not entirely new within Tottenham as there have long been reports linking the club with outside interest, although nothing concrete has ever materialised.

At this point, Spurs supporters are more likely to treat the latest claims with a pinch of salt until there is an accepted bid on the table, given how often these stories circulate without any real substance.

Tottenham owners made a big power play on Daniel Levy after sacking him

Tottenham owners made a big power play on Daniel Levy after sacking him - Spurs Web
Description

The details of what Daniel Levy was told after being sacked as Tottenham chairman have now emerged, giving further credence to the fact that it was the ultimate power play by the Lewis family.

While Tottenham had said in their announcement that Levy had stepped down from his role as executive chairman, that was not the case if reports are to be believed.

Many outlets have said that Levy was asked to resign rather than stepping down of his own accord following an internal review headed by Tavistock Group, who are the majority shareholders of ENIC.

According to some sources, Levy was only informed of his sacking just hours before Tottenham made the announcement, with the 63-year-old being completely blindsided by the development.

Daniel Levy was barred from Tottenham’s training ground

The Athletic have now confirmed that Levy had no idea on the morning of the day of his sacking that his time at the club would end abruptly.

Even more interestingly, they reveal that the former Tottenham Hotspur supremo was not even allowed to enter the training ground to retrieve his possessions after his dismissal.

His wife Tracey, who worked at the club until the day Levy was sacked, was also barred, with their belongings being returned by van.

MORE SPURS STORIES

The report explains that this kind of separation is far from rare in the corporate world, particularly at blue-chip companies, but it is still evidence that it was the ultimate power move by the Lewis family, given that Levy had called the shots at Tottenham for 24 years.

Levy got a taste of his own medicine

According to some sources, Levy did not even give Mauricio Pochettino a chance to say goodbye to the Tottenham players after sacking the Argentine in 2019.

Some outlets have also claimed that Harry Kane was barred from Hotspur Way when a deal with Bayern Munich was struck two years ago.

It thus appears that Levy got a taste of his own medicine and got to know how it feels to be on the other end of the stick.

Description

Thomas Frank has explained the way he approaches each fixture since taking charge at Tottenham, with the Dane insisting that every game requires its own individual plan and level of preparation.

Tottenham Hotspur supporters would be pleased with how life under Thomas Frank has begun, as the manager has quickly settled in and delivered results across the board.

The Dane has overseen victories in every competition he has entered so far as Tottenham boss, recording wins in the Premier League, Champions League and Carabao Cup.

Earlier this week, Tottenham comfortably dispatched Doncaster Rovers with a rotated side, securing a 3-0 win at home, and with Wolves visiting the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this weekend, supporters will expect more of the same.

Thomas Frank details his Tottenham match preparation

Speaking to the club’s official media channels, Thomas Frank explained how he ensures Tottenham are ready for each opponent, stressing the importance of tailoring plans to suit the specific challenges that lie ahead.

This weekend’s visitors, Wolves, represent a step up from League One side Doncaster Rovers, but despite being a Premier League side, they are enduring a difficult run of form, sitting bottom of the table without a single point to their name.

On the upcoming clash, Frank outlined the need for intensity and fan backing, while pointing out that recent meetings have not gone Tottenham’s way.

MORE SPURS STORIES

He said, “We are facing a good Wolves side. Everyone is aware they have not had their best start in terms of points. Their games have been very tight.

“This is a team the last five times we have not been able to beat. We need to come flying out, be ready for it, have the fans behind us – they need to back us in every second of the game. I am confident we will perform.”

The Dane also explained how he guards against complacency and ensures the players approach each contest with focus, adding: “That is because we always look backwards. Every game has its own life and story. We prepare for Wolves, look at their strengths, areas we can hurt them. It is good our players are in a good place.”

Frank opens up on Spurs’ hectic schedule

Spurs‘ calendar continues to be packed, with three matches in the space of a week, and Frank admitted that managing recovery and preparation remains an ongoing challenge.

Speaking on the quick turnarounds between fixtures, he noted the need for clear processes but also flexibility depending on circumstances.

He said: “Having two days between games I have done over 100 times in my career but maybe not 300 times. Do you need that though?

“We have a clear process on how we want to do it, but we always have discussions on the little details. There are ongoing discussions and there is not a one size fits all matchday minus one preparation.”

Lewis family sources release statement on Tottenham £4.5 billion takeover rumours

Lewis family sources release statement on Tottenham £4.5 billion takeover rumours - Spurs Web
Description

ENIC has long been the majority shareholder of Tottenham Hotspur, and the Lewis Family is keen to keep it that way, despite interest from a US consortium.

ENIC went from owning under 3 per cent of Tottenham Hotspur to 29.9 per cent in 2000, with the option of buying another 13.2 per cent at a later date. The transaction saw Daniel Levy replace Sir Alan Sugar as the club’s Chairman. Over time, the investment company became the majority owner.

Of course, Levy has stepped down from his role of almost 25 years, and this has raised discussion about the future of who will own Spurs.

It was recently reported that Tottenham were the subject of a world record takeover bid. A conflicting report stated that the rumoured takeover bid of Tottenham Hotspur was untrue.

Brooklyn Earick posted a countdown message in response to the Tottenham takeover rumours, which neither confirmed nor denied whether or not they were true.

Lewis family sources confirm informal Tottenham takeover bid

In the latest twist to the tale, a source close to the Lewis family has confirmed that the offer from a consortium led by Mr Brooklyn Earick is real. However, ENIC have absolutely no intention of selling the club.

The statement read (Football London): “The Board of Tottenham Hotspur Limited is aware of recent media speculation and confirms that its majority shareholder, ENIC Sports & Developments Holdings Ltd has received, and unequivocally rejected, an informal expression of interest in relation to a proposal to acquire the entire issued, and to be issued, share capital of the Club from a consortium led by Mr Brooklyn Earick.

MORE SPURS STORIES

“The board of the Club and ENIC reconfirm that Tottenham Hotspur is not for sale and ENIC is not looking to sell its stake in the club.”

The rules state that the consortium is now required, by no later than 5 pm on October 24, to either announce a firm intention to make an offer for Spurs or announce that it does not intend to do so. That deadline can be extended with the consent of the panel on takeovers and mergers.

The new look ENIC deserve a chance to improve Spurs

ENIC have been criticised for many years due to Tottenham’s perceived lack of action during transfer windows. However, it was Levy who was calling the shots, and he is no longer in his position.

The prospect of a new owner could cause excitement over new opportunities, but it does not always work out. Many Manchester United supporters would have been delighted when Jim Ratcliffe purchased a 27.7 per cent stake in their club, but he has become an unpopular figure.

Tottenham have begun a new chapter post-Levy and the new faces increasing their involvement in the club deserve some time to make improvements before any judgements are made.

Description

Thomas Frank has provided a fresh injury update ahead of Tottenham’s Premier League clash with Wolves this weekend, as the Spurs boss prepares for what could be a crucial test at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Tottenham Hotspur got back to winning ways on Wednesday night with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Doncaster Rovers in the third round of the Carabao Cup.

It was a strong performance in front of their home crowd, with Frank’s side showing sharpness and quality despite several changes to the line-up.

That result has now booked Tottenham a place in the fourth round of the League Cup, where they are set to meet Newcastle United in what promises to be a far sterner test.

Frank rotated his squad against the League One opposition, but the decision did not derail his side in any way, and now the attention quickly turns back to the Premier League.

Tottenham vs Wolves as Thomas Frank delivers injury news

Spurs are set to welcome Wolves to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday night in a clash between third and twentieth in the table.

Ahead of his Premier League fixture with Wolves, Frank has now provided an injury update on the fitness of his Tottenham squad.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Tottenham remain without James Maddison, Dejan Kulusevski, Radu Dragusin and Yves Bissouma, with the quartet still unavailable due to injury.

There are also doubts over Randal Kolo Muani, Kota Takai and Dominic Solanke, although the trio are edging closer to being available for selection.

Speaking to the club’s official media channel, Frank said: “Latest is that everyone who was available from the last league game is available again.

“In midweek, Pape [Matar Sarr] was out as a precaution; he’s trained today, so that’s a positive. Kolo Muani’s dead leg is dragging on; he’ll be out for a few more days. Dom is not available.”

On Solanke, he added: “Dominic’s ankle injury has been a little bit tricky. It’s not too big. Hopefully he’ll be back quick. It’s not perfect, but we are going forward in the right direction.”

On Kolo Muani’s dead leg, Frank said: “It happened in training. I think Pape ran into him, so you have to blame Pape.”

Finally, Frank also provided an update on Radu Dragusin: “He’s progressing well. He’s been on the grass for three weeks now. He is on track. It will be some weeks before he is able to be involved.”

The Tottenham boss will be looking for a return to league victories after his side battled for a hard-earned draw against Brighton at the Amex Stadium in matchweek five.

Brooklyn Earick breaks silence on rumoured £4.5 billion bid to buy Tottenham with 'countdown' message - Spurs Web
Description

Tech entrepreneur Brooklyn Earick has now reacted to reports that he has made a world record bid to buy Tottenham Hotspur.

We know that there has been interest in Spurs since Daniel Levy’s exit, with Tottenham confirming that they rejected two takeover offers recently.

On Thursday, news broke that a US consortium, headed by Brooklyn Earick, was ready to spend £4.5 billion on Spurs.

The report, which came from The Sun, asserted that the consortium had bid £3.3 billion to buy Tottenham Hotspur and were ready to commit another £1.2 billion to improving the club’s playing squad.

Brooklyn Earick’s telling response to Tottenham takeover rumours

However, since then, other sources have confirmed that the Lewis family have not received any new offer to buy the club.

This has now seemingly been confirmed by Earick himself, with the Tech entrepreneur taking to social media to express his surprise at the report.

The 41-year-old posted a screenshot of The Sun’s article on his Instagram Stories along with the caption: “Pretty low key morning so far”.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Earick then added to his story with a countdown timer marked for 27 days and 10 hours, with the Tottenham dressing room in the background. This could perhaps be a nod to the deadline he has to declare his interest, or lack of interest, in buying Tottenham Hotspur.

The takeover rumour does not pass the sniff test

The report from The Sun made little sense to begin with, and the claim about the £1.2billion investment into Tottenham’s playing squad was a giveaway that it was likely baseless.

If you are an investor looking to buy the club, why would you publicly announce that you are ready to pump £1.2 billion into the club over the £3.3 billion you are willing to pay for the takeover?

Surely that is not a sensible negotiating strategy, as ENIC would demand a higher fee if they knew that the investor was happy to shell out a lot more expenditure on the club.
