Tottenham could swoop for Italian starlet as Inter Milan hesitate on transfer - Spurs Web
Description

Inter Milan’s latest transfer decision may open the door for Tottenham Hotspur to land one of the best young centre-backs in Italian football.

With Fabio Paratici still heavily involved in Tottenham’s transfer pursuits this summer, we know that the club will be keeping a close eye on the Serie A market, given the 51-year-old’s expertise and contacts in Italian football.

Over the past few days, some sources have indicated that Tottenham are considering making an offer for Parma centre-back Giovanni Leoni.

The 18-year-old has impressed everyone with the composure he has shown in Serie A, and he is expected by many to be a mainstay of the Italian national side in the future.

As expected, it turns out that Tottenham Hotspur would have seen off plenty of competition to land the teenager this summer.

Tottenham may push ahead with Giovanni Leoni move after Inter Milan’s decision

A new report from the print edition of Corriere dello Sport has now revealed that Inter, who were previously the favourites to land Leoni, are now prioritising a move for Atalanta’s Ademola Lookman.

This has opened the door for Tottenham and other Premier League clubs to tie up a deal for the young centre-back, who is said to be keen on swapping Parma for a Champions League club.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Leoni is also on the radars of Liverpool and Newcastle United, with all three Premier League sides now ‘gathering information’ about the young defender.

Parma want €35m (£30.3m) for their young starlet, and the report says that the English trio will not have any issues meeting their valuation.

Tottenham’s centre-back pursuit may depend on Luka Vuskovic decision

Now that Cristian Romero appears likely to stay at Tottenham, signing a centre-back is perhaps not as urgent for Spurs as it was a few weeks ago.

Some journalists have suggested that Thomas Frank may decide against signing a centre-back after being impressed by Luka Vuskovic, who has looked the part in pre-season.

Description

Tottenham Hotspur have entered the race to sign a former Premier League centre-forward, who is currently plying his trade in Saudi Arabia, but they would have to battle two of their rivals to land him this summer.

It has previously been reported that Tottenham are battling Newcastle for Yoane Wissa, who wants to leave Brentford this summer.

However, the former Congo international is not the only centre-forward that the two clubs have their eye on this summer. It seems Spurs and Newcastle are shopping in the same striker pools.

It has now emerged that both clubs could battle it out for the services of a Serbian international, who is scoring goals for fun in the Saudi Pro League.

Tottenham enter the race to land Aleksandar Mitrovic

This update comes from CaughOffside, who say that Tottenham Hotspur have become the latest club to enter the race for Aleksandar Mitrovic, who has scored nearly a goal a game for Al-Hilal since his switch to the Saudi club two years ago.

Newcastle have shown an interest in re-signing their former striker, while Man United are also keen on securing the 28-year-old, but the English duo now face competition from Tottenham.

The report says that Thomas Frank’s men see Mitrovic as a suitable option to offer competition to Dominic Solanke, particularly with Richarlison and Heung-min Son flattering to deceive last season.

MORE SPURS STORIES

The Serbian international’s experience in the Premier League makes him an attractive option for Spurs, with Al-Hilal ready to sell the striker for €30m (£26m) this summer.

Newcastle may have an advantage over Tottenham in Mitrovic race

CaughtOffside say that the Magpies are now ‘warming to the idea’ of taking Mitrovic back to St James’ Park, with the player seen as the right fit for Eddie Howe’s side.

It is pointed out that the centre-forward has expressed his love for Newcastle in the past, but there is another factor which could give them a big advantage in the race.

The Magpies are owned by the Saudi Public Investment Fund, which also owns Al Hilal, and that could help facilitate the striker’s move to the North East.

How much income Tottenham could lose once Heung-min Son leaves N17 - Spurs Web
Description

As Heung-min Son edges closer to an exit after ten years at Tottenham Hotspur, it has now emerged that the Lilywhites may be in line to receive a huge financial blow.

LAFC FC have now submitted an offer for Heung-min Son, with the Californian side determined to bring the 33-year-old through the door this summer.

It remains to be seen whether their offer will be accepted, but Son will be part of Tottenham’s pre-season tour to South Korea, with his presence being crucial for the Lilywhites for commercial reasons.

Some outlets have claimed that Son is now ‘increasingly likely’ to join LAFC this summer, and a new update has now suggested that the 33-year-old’s exit may make a big dent on Tottenham’s balance sheet.

Tottenham’s revenue will take a massive hit when Heung-min Son departs

The Daily Mail have pointed out that an estimated 5,000 Koreans attend Spurs home games on average to catch a glimpse of their idol.

Many of them spend big in Tottenham Hotspur’s megastore while millions of fans back in South Korea also digitally engage with the club’s content.

The outlet says that industry experts estimate that Son-related income is worth a whopping £40m-£60m to Tottenham annually, with the club set to lose much of it when the forward departs.

MORE SPURS STORIES

The decision to sell the 33-year-old could thus end up being costly for Tottenham in more ways than one, with reports indicating that Spurs are willing to accept a cut-price fee for Son.

Daniel Levy has tried to future-proof the club’s finances

It is fair to assume that a percentage of the Korean fans will continue supporting Tottenham after Son’s departure, but many may see their enthusiasm drop after their countryman’s exit.

That is perhaps part of the reason why Spurs have signed Yang Min-Hyeok, who many hope will become the next big Korean football star.

However, the 19-year-old may not be ready to make the jump to the Premier League just yet, with reports indicating that Yang is likely to be loaned out by Tottenham again this summer.

Tottenham have spoken to £20m Morgan Gibbs-White alternative, and they may have new hope - Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham Hotspur have already held talks with two attacking midfielders, who the Lilywhites have identified as alternatives for Morgan Gibbs-White.

The Gibbs-White to Tottenham saga is now officially over, and it was not the ending that Spurs would have hoped for, with the midfielder signing a new contract at Nottingham Forest.

Spurs fans are furious that the club wasted so much time pursuing Gibbs-White, and the North London side will now have to act swiftly to land an alternative.

It turns out that Thomas Frank’s men have already identified several alternatives to the Forest star, and have even held talks with two of them.

Tottenham have held talks with Man City man and Chelsea target

TBR Football have claimed that Xavi Simons and James McAtee are among the attacking midfielders on Spurs’ wishlist.

In fact, the outlet claims that the Lilywhites have already spoken to the RB Leipzig star and Man City youngster about a move to N17.

However, the report reveals that Tottenham Hotspur are unlikely to land Simons as Chelsea are already in advanced talks over a deal for the Dutchman.

MORE SPURS STORIES

It is claimed that Spurs may now have an opportunity to land McAtee, who had been identified by Forest as a replacement for Gibbs-White.

With Forest now out of the race for the Man City man, it is alleged that Tottenham could land the player for just around £20m.

Spurs are also fans of Liverpool youngster

TBR Football claim that Tottenham were also closely monitoring Harvey Elliott before they pushed ahead with a move for Gibbs-White.

It is claimed that Frank’s men could reignite their interest in the Liverpool man after missing out on the England international.

The publication also suggests that West Ham’s Lucas Paqueta could become a target for Tottenham as the Brazilian has been cleared of all charges and is available for just £30m.

Fabrizio Romano provides a big update on Tottenham’s pursuit of Joao Palhinha - Spurs Web
Description

Fabrizio Romano has taken to social media to reveal that Tottenham Hotspur have now taken their first steps towards landing Bayern Munich midfielder Joao Palhinha.

Morgan Gibbs-White has handed Tottenham a huge blow by signing a new contract with Nottingham Forest, but the Lilywhites do not have time to lick their wounds as they have plenty of work to do in this transfer window.

Spurs Web has relayed a number of reports over the last few days stating that Thomas Frank is keen on bringing Joao Palhinha to Tottenham, with the Dane seeing the Bayern Munich star as a natural fit for his system.

Spurs may face competition from their Premier League rivals for Palhinha, but it appears that the North Londoners have taken their first step towards the former Fulham man.

Tottenham have reached out to Joao Palhinha’s camp

It has now been revealed by Fabrizio Romano that Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in the Portuguese international is ‘genuine’.

The journalist took to social media to reveal that Thomas Frank’s men have already spoken with Palhinha’s representatives about a move to N17.

While Romano says that Spurs are yet to submit an offer to Bayern Munich for the midfielder, he adds that ‘more will follow’ over the coming days and weeks.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Tottenham may have work to do to persuade Palhinha

Agreeing a deal with the Bundesliga giants is not expected to be difficult, with reports from Germany indicating that Bayern are ready to sell Palhinha to Spurs for around €25m-€30m (£21.7m-£26m).

However, convincing the midfielder may not be straightforward for Tottenham, as reports indicate that Palhinha prefers to stay at Bayern and fight for his place.

That perhaps explains why the Lilywhites are speaking to the player’s camp first before making an offer, with Frank’s men possibly working to convince the midfielder to return to London.

Tottenham turn up interest in Real Madrid star after Morgan Gibbs-White snub

Tottenham turn up interest in Real Madrid star after Morgan Gibbs-White snub - Spurs Web
Description

According to an update from Spain, Tottenham Hotspur are now looking to make a real statement by advancing their interest in a Real Madrid star, and they are moving ahead of their Premier League rivals in the transfer race.

Spurs fans are understandably fuming at the Gibbs-White deal falling through after the midfielder put pen to paper on a new contract at Nottingham Forest.

Their frustration is understandable as the two-week delay in the England international’s move could mean that Tottenham may also miss out on Xavi Simons, who is reportedly on the verge of joining Chelsea.

It emerged last week that Tottenham had explored a move for Real Madrid star Rodrygo, who is also on the radars of Liverpool and Arsenal. According to a new update, Thomas Frank’s men are now advancing on the Brazilian.

Tottenham leapfrogging Liverpool and Arsenal in the race for Rodrygo

According to a report in AS, Real Madrid are willing to let Rodrygo leave this summer, but they are demanding €100m (£86.8m) for the winger.

This high asking price has seen Liverpool’s interest in the winger cool, while Arsenal’s have completely ‘frozen’ their move for the player. Additionally, Bayern Munich do not have the Los Blancos star as their plan A.

This has opened the door for Tottenham Hotspur, who have ‘burst in’ and are trying to secure the services of the Brazilian international.

MORE SPURS STORIES

The Lilywhites are hoping to negotiate a deal down to around €90m (£78.1) for Rodrygo, with the player’s situation at Madrid described as being ‘very delicate’.

What is Rodrygo’s stance on his future?

AS say that the 24-year-old has continued to maintain that he does not want to leave the Spanish capital and is willing to fight for his place at Madrid.

However, his chances of game time under Xabi Alonso appear low, and the new Madrid boss is expected to have a conversation with the winger soon before a final decision is made on his future.

The publication adds that the Rodrygo saga could become one of the best ‘soap operas’ of the summer transfer window, with the player expected to want regular game time ahead of a World Cup year.

Description

After Morgan Gibbs-White snubbed Tottenham Hotspur and committed to a new deal with Nottingham Forest, details are starting to emerge about the Lilywhites’ failed approach. Now, a new update suggests that Spurs might not have even activated Gibbs-White’s release clause.

News broke on Saturday that Gibbs-White decided to put pen to paper on a new contract at Nottingham Forest, with the development coming as a huge blow to the Lilywhites.

Just hours before the development, it was being reported by several sources that Gibbs-White remained keen to complete a move to Tottenham after the North Londoners met the player’s £60m release clause two and a half weeks ago.

However, the Forest star had a change of heart, and Gibbs-White has admitted that he is excited to spearhead the project at the City Ground.

Did Tottenham actually activate Morgan Gibbs-White’s clause?

The Telegraph have now said that not only were Forest upset about the breach of confidentiality by Spurs, but there are doubts about whether the Lilywhites actually paid the player’s clause.

It is now suggested that Tottenham Hotspur may not even have matched the exact terms in the clause.

The outlet says that the clause could have also contained several conditions apart from the fee, which the offer from Thomas Frank’s men may not have satisfied.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Forest were far from pleased with Spurs’ tactics and immediately sent a notice of legal action to Daniel Levy, while they also considered officially complaining to the Premier League.

Gibbs-White receives bumper deal as Evangelos Marinakis trumps Daniel Levy

The Telegraph confirm that Gibbs-White’s three-year deal does not contain a release clause and sees the 25-year-old become the highest earner in Forest’s history.

It is revealed that Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis views this as a major triumph over Tottenham and Levy, with the Greek billionaire feeling that the nature of the Spurs chairman’s approach was a slur against his club.

How Tottenham Hotspur are expected to react to Morgan Gibbs-White snub - Spurs Web
Description

Journalist Greame Bailey has now shed light on what the feeling at Tottenham Hotspur is after the club received a shock snub from Morgan Gibbs-White.

Gibbs-White signed a new contract at the City Ground on Saturday, and the news came as a shock to Tottenham and many across the footballing media landscape.

This was because the expectation at Spurs was that they would get Gibbs-White, while it was also widely reported that the Forest midfielder was determined to complete a move to N17.

However, he had a change of heart, and Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis reportedly convinced Gibbs-White about the club’s ambition after face-to-face talks with the 25-year-old.

Tottenham are ready to move on from Morgan Gibbs-White

The Forest owner has undoubtedly had the last laugh, and Marinakis has taken a potshot at Tottenham for the way they conducted themselves.

Greame Bailey has now explained that the Greek billionaire was not at all pleased with Spurs’ tactics and remained resolute on his stance right from the off.

The journalist suggested that Tottenham do not plan to dwell on this snub and are ready to move on very quickly.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Bailey told TBR Football: “I am told that whilst Evangelos Marinakis was angry with Tottenham Hotspur, he was quick to sit down with Morgan Gibbs-White.

“He was very clear about what he wanted. Over the past two weeks, he has been offering him a deal that has now convinced him to stay.

“Tottenham were confident, and they hoped that Gibbs-White would still come. It is a blow to Spurs’ plans, but they will move on very quickly.”

Who will Spurs turn to next in the summer transfer window?

Spurs certainly cannot afford to feel sorry for themselves as they have plenty of work to do this summer, with the Tottenham squad requiring multiple reinforcements.

Some outlets have suggested over the last few days that Tottenham may now turn to Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott, who is expected to leave Anfield this summer.

Tottenham fans are not happy with latest ‘clueless’ transfer exit rumour

Tottenham fans are not happy with latest ‘clueless’ transfer exit rumour - Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham supporters have been left completely baffled by new reports linking one important first-team player with a loan exit.

So far, Tottenham Hotspur’s transfer window has been anything but satisfactory, as the Lilywhites are yet to add any more new faces aside from Mohammed Kudus and Kota Takai.

Tottenham’s window got a lot worse when reports emerged that Spurs-bound Morgan Gibbs-White had decided to extend his stay at Forest, signing a contract extension that would keep him at the City Ground until 2028.

Now, fresh reports claim that Lille are negotiating with Tottenham to sign second-choice goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky in what is expected to be a loan deal.

Tottenham fans react to Antonin Kinsky’s potential loan move

Kinsky only joined Tottenham last season during the winter window and is yet to spend a full year in N17, which makes these reports all the more surprising given how little time he has had to settle or prove himself.

Spurs fans who have caught wind of the story have not held back with their reactions, with many left stunned by the idea that Kinsky could already be heading out on loan.

One fan said: “This is what we are doing instead of signing players”, while another added: “The club would be in shambles if we loaned Kinsky and kept Austin as our main backup.”

MORE SPURS STORIES

A third questioned: “Literally, what are we doing? Who is the backup going to be?”

A fourth supporter took aim at Johan Lange: “We are moving clueless this summer. I could do a better job than Lange.”

Another fan was open to the move but had one caveat: “Absolutely fine if we are signing a better keeper. I like Vicario, but he gets nowhere near any top-six team. We need a top keeper with Vic as no.2.”

A final supporter commented: “What the actual hell is going on. Great move for experience but he could be our number one – why did we get rid of Keeley?”

Brandon Austin is far from a convincing backup option

Of course, Tottenham fans have reason to be left stunned by the latest reports, as selling Kinsky is sure to leave Spurs short at the back.

Brandon Austin will have to become the second-choice option, and based on his display in the pre-season clash against Wycombe, where he was responsible for the first goal, the Spurs academy graduate does not inspire confidence.

Tottenham’s pre-season tour squad highlights one alarming problem position

Tottenham’s pre-season tour squad highlights one alarming problem position - Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham Hotspur’s pre-season tour squad has been confirmed, and while there is plenty to be encouraged about, one key weakness stands out like a sore thumb – and it could come back to haunt the club before the new season is properly underway.

Just yesterday, Tottenham Hotspur’s pre-season squad for the tour of Asia was revealed, as Spurs gear up to play Arsenal and Newcastle United in the Middle East before travelling to the Allianz Arena for a clash against Bayern Munich on August 7.

Thomas Frank’s squad has a good mix of guaranteed first-team players and youngsters as Tottenham continue their preparations for the 2025/26 season.

The likes of Heung-min Son, Micky van de Ven, Cristian Romero, Rodrigo Bentancur and Dominic Solanke all made the trip to Asia, while five other youngsters were included to complete a well-rounded team.

However, while certain areas of this squad appear to have good enough depth, one significant position looks rather weak and should raise an alarm ahead of the new campaign.

Tottenham lack proper left-back depth in pre-season tour squad

Put simply, Tottenham are short in the full-back position, particularly at left-back, and the pre-season squad has highlighted this gaping hole.

At the moment, Spurs are set to travel to Asia with Ben Davies as the club’s recognised left-back following an injury to Destiny Udogie, which has seen him miss out on the tour of Asia.

MORE SPURS STORIES

For Tottenham, a club that finished 17th, to head into the season with 33-year-old Davies as a back-up option for Udogie is almost laughable and screams a lack of proper squad planning.

Of course, some could argue that Djed Spence could be shifted to the left, Archie Gray could cover at right-back, and if need be, Micky van de Ven could fill in as a left-back.

While these are creative solutions, there is still a significant gaping hole in the full-back position. First off, Tottenham are set to compete in four major competitions, including the UEFA Champions League.

The quality in the Champions League is levels above that of the Europa League, and Tottenham would not be handed the luxury of rotating their entire eleven like they did in the League phase of the Europa League.

Frank would have to go full strength in the League phase of the Champions League if he is to give his side a chance of pulling through.

That could see him field a back four of Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, Pedro Porro and most likely Destiny Udogie. Should the Italian be injured, then Spence could fill in.

However, it gets tricky when there are extra injuries on the side, and then those filling in are not of the highest level, which would lead to a significant drop in quality.

Spurs need direct Destiny Udogie back-up in the transfer market

Udogie’s injury track record does not inspire confidence, as the Italian may not be a player who is going to be constantly available over a hectic schedule.

He will miss games, and should that happen, Tottenham cannot rely on Davies, who is not getting any younger, especially when they want to compete on all fronts.

There is a need for another full-back to join the ranks at Tottenham. An injury crisis could hit just like last season, and Spurs could find themselves in a sticky position.

Makeshift options are great and would be helpful. However, Tottenham’s first option when an injury strikes should not be to fall on a makeshift player.

There should be a direct replacement for Udogie, one who is of good enough quality to maintain the standards at left-back and would suit Frank’s tactical setup, which, as we have seen in the recent pre-season clashes, requires Udogie to almost hug the touchline and also cover in defence. Davies does not have the quality or athleticism to do that.
