Description

Tottenham fans will not like hearing what Opta’s Supercomputer has predicted about the North London club’s chances of beating Brentford.

Tottenham are winless at home in the Premier League since the opening day of the season, and the team’s home form has been the main source of consternation for the club’s supporters.

In fact, their poor form at home goes back much further, with Spurs only having three wins at home across the calendar year, and having suffered a record 10 losses at their ground in the Premier League across 2025.

This campaign, only bottom-of-the-table Wolves have a worse record at home in the top-flight than the Lilywhites, who will be desperate to finally give their fans something to cheer about.

Tottenham have a less than 50 per cent chance of beating Brentford

However, according to Opta’s Supercomputer, Tottenham Hotspur are less likely to win than not against the Bees on Saturday.

The data analysis platform gives the North London club just a 44.5 per cent chance of picking up all three points against Frank’s former side.

Opta say that there is a 26.8 per cent chance of the game ending in a draw, while the West London club have a 28.7 per cent chance of inflicting their fifth home defeat of the season on Tottenham.

Spurs need to start well to get the fans onside

The worsening relationship between the Tottenham fans and the players has been well documented over recent weeks.

The atmosphere at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium has been toxic at times due to the poor performances and results that Frank’s men have served.

If Brentford take the lead and Spurs make a slow start, the frustrations of the supporters will start boiling over and make things very difficult for the Lilywhites.

It is thus imperative that Tottenham start on the front foot and get the fans on their side in the early stages of the game.

An excited Heung-min Son has sent a message to Tottenham Hotspur supporters ahead of his return to north London.

Tottenham Hotspur fans have the opportunity to see their club legend for the first time in the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium since Spurs’ final match against Brighton at the end of last season, when he returns next week.

Heung-min Son announced his departure from Tottenham in his home town during Spurs’ pre-season tour of Asia, and as such, he did not have the chance to say a proper goodbye to the supporters.

Son has since been enjoying his football in MLS with LA FC, where he has scored 12 goals already this season.

Heung-min Son Tottenham return message ahead of stadium visit

Yesterday, it was confirmed that Son will be visiting the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Tuesday, December 9, when Tottenham take on Slavia Praha in the Champions League.

The former Tottenham captain has now sent a message to the Tottenham fans ahead of his return, as relayed by the club’s official account.

He said: “Hi everyone it is Sonny here I hope everyone is doing well. When I left this club I was in Korea and I never had a proper chance to say goodbye to everyone.

MORE SPURS STORIES

“So now I am very happy because I am going to come back to London on nine of December champions League night and I want to see everybody, fans, players and staff and also say proper goodbye to all of you guys.

“It will be a very emotional day but I think it is very important for me and the club this is happening so see you soon.”

Heung-min Son legacy and Tottenham recognition

The 33-year-old is also set to have a mural painted in his honour alongside other club icons Ledley King and Harry Kane.

Son cemented his legendary status after helping Tottenham lift their first trophy in almost two decades last term when they won the Europa League.

He will forever have a place in north London, and he is in the heart of many supporters for the memories he gave to them, and many fans cannot wait to see him again.

How long Thomas Frank has to turn things around and escape the Tottenham sack - Spurs Web
Description

A new report has now revealed how much time Thomas Frank has to turn things around at Tottenham Hotspur.

Results have not been going as expected for Thomas Frank in recent weeks, with his side’s form taking a massive nosedive and no sign yet of a revival to steady the ship.

Tottenham Hotspur have been woeful since October and went the entire month of November without a single Premier League victory, which has left the mood around the fanbase flat and increasingly tense.

Sections of the Tottenham support have seen enough and are calling for the manager to be dismissed, given his inability to turn things around.

How much time Thomas Frank has to turn things around at Tottenham

Indeed, recent results have contributed to the dissatisfaction amongst some fans.

Arsenal embarrassed Tottenham at the Emirates, while Fulham compounded Spurs‘ home misery with another damaging defeat, a record Frank has struggled to fix, which led to boos ringing around the stadium.

However, according to Football Insider, it is understood that Thomas Frank is under no immediate pressure to lose his job at Tottenham.

MORE SPURS STORIES

The Tottenham boss hit out at his own fans after the Fulham defeat, while Spurs supporters fired back massively on social media, labelling the Dane a fake Spurs manager.

Despite that, it is believed that Frank retains the backing of the Tottenham board, and he is set to be given until at least the New Year in order to turn their recent form around.

It is explained that the Tottenham board recognise the poor run of results of late, but still intend to build a long-term project with the man they appointed during the summer.

Tottenham planning January support for Thomas Frank

While Frank is not under any internal pressure from within the club, Football Insider have also stated that Spurs are prepared to back the Spurs boss in the winter transfer window.

The January market is fast approaching, and the publication has revealed that Tottenham are looking to bring in a forward to help bolster Frank’s attack as they try to sharpen their cutting edge in the final third.

The Dane has had Richarlison and Muani as his main striking options this season, while Dominic Solanke has been injured, but it is understood that the output of the forwards has not been good enough, which has pushed Tottenham toward seeking alternatives.

Because of this, it is highly unlikely the club hierarchy decides to pull the trigger on Frank before he is given the necessary tools to rebuild the team and reshape the attack in his own image.

Description

Tottenham Hotspur are weighing up whether to sign a Premier League goalkeeper who is attracting interest from teams across Europe.

Guglielmo Vicario has had a season full of ups and downs, from man of the match performances to schoolboy errors.

This has raised questions over his future and one report claimed Vicario wants to return to Italy, with Inter Milan in contact with the goalkeeper’s representatives.

However, Vicario is seen as an integral part of the Tottenham project and any new goalkeeper would reportedly be an understudy to him, rather than a replacement.

Tottenham admire Brighton goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen

According to Team Talk, Tottenham are working hard on prospective goalkeepers targets and are admiriers of Brighton & Hove Albion’s Bart Verbruggen, having been impressed by his performances.

Spurs are making checks on Vergbruggen and he is seen as one of their stronger options if Vicario decides to return to Italy, with both Milan clubs down interested in the shot-stopper.

Chelsea have had a long-standing interest in Verbruggen, while Manchester City considered signing him before adding Gianluigi Donnarumma to their squad last summer. Bayern Munich are also said to be interested in the 23-year-old.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Spurs are also interested in James Trafford

Team Talk also report that Spurs are looking at James Trafford. The ex-Burnley goalkeeper rejoined Manchester City in the summer, but he has been their second choice behind Donnarumma.

While Brighton have been known to sell their players for high transfer fees, Trafford joined City in a deal worth £31m. Therefore, he could be a more affordable option and also someone is not attracting as much interest from other clubs as Verbruggen.

Tottenham take major step in stadium naming rights pursuit after recent £10m-per-year deal

Tottenham take major step in stadium naming rights pursuit after recent £10m-per-year deal - Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham Hotspur have been undergoing sweeping changes in the club’s hierarchy in recent months, and those changes are set to continue.

Early in the season, one of the biggest shifts at board level was confirmed when it was revealed that Daniel Levy was no longer chairman of Tottenham after 24 years of service.

The 63-year-old was far from a fan favourite given his lack of ambition on the pitch. And on the commercial side, one of his biggest shortcomings was his inability to land a naming rights deal for the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The state-of-the-art billion-pound ground has been in existence for six years following its completion in 2019; however, Spurs have still not secured a naming rights partner for the stadium.

The Telegraph is now reporting that the Lewis family have now given a clear signal that they plan to end Spurs‘ long wait to find a lucrative sponsor for their £1bn home.

As part of the sweeping behind-the-scenes changes at Tottenham, it has now been revealed that Alex Scotcher will start as the club’s new commercial director in January, having worked on naming rights arrangements for Everton and Valencia.

Scotcher joins Spurs from sports and entertainment consultancy firm Elevate, where he was senior vice president of global partnerships for over three years.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Before that, he spent almost four years at Serie A club Roma, where he was director of global partnerships and chief commercial officer.

However, it is his most recent work at Elevate that will interest Tottenham fans the most and is key to the club’s long search for a naming rights partner for their stadium.

Spurs look to follow Everton commercial model under Scotcher

Tottenham’s failure to land a naming rights deal for the Tottenham Hotspur stadium that opened in 2019 has been blamed on Levy setting the price too high.

Reports claim that the former Spurs chairman initially wanted a world record naming package worth £25m a year across 15 years that would have totalled £375m, a deal he was not able to secure.

Given Everton Hill Dickinson deal is reportedly worth £10m a year, Tottenham will be expecting to land a bigger figure, having already missed out on over £60m worth of revenue due to the failure to secure a naming rights partner, and the board will be hoping Scotcher can help secure a deal.

Tottenham predicted XI vs Brentford as Thomas Frank finally gives Xavi Simons a chance

Tottenham predicted XI vs Brentford as Thomas Frank finally gives Xavi Simons a chance - Spurs Web
Description

With games coming thick and fast, Thomas Frank has big decisions to make and we have now attempted to predict the Dane’s Tottenham XI to take on Brentford at the weekend.

Tottenham Hotspur are back in front of their own fans following their trip to St James’ Park on Tuesday night, a match that saw them take a point in a 2-2 draw.

Up next is Thomas Frank’s former side, Brentford, who, to their credit, have shown little sign of missing him, as Keith Andrews has his team level on points with Tottenham after fourteen league outings.

Spurs are winless in their last five Premier League fixtures and will be desperate to find their way back to winning form.

Still, given that their home record is currently the second-worst in the division, Brentford will feel there is an opportunity to take something from this game.

With fixtures landing every three days, Thomas Frank will need to lean on his squad depth, and we have now attempted to predict his starting XI for the weekend.

Tottenham predicted XI vs Brentford

Goalkeeper – Guglielmo Vicario: The Tottenham goalkeeper shook off his error against Fulham by producing a strong performance against Newcastle United, and we expect Frank to continue with him.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Right-back – Pedro Porro: Frank has options at right back, as Djed Spence could move across and Archie Gray is also capable there; however, Porro remains the natural pick, and we do not expect a change.

Centre-back – Cristian Romero: It was an excellent showing from the Tottenham captain as his brace secured a point against Newcastle United, and he should continue in the heart of defence.

Centre-back – Micky van de Ven: The Dutchman was given a rare rest last time out against Newcastle United, but back-to-back rests feel unlikely, so he should return to the team.

Left-back – Djed Spence: Destiny Udogie started against Newcastle United, and with fixtures coming at a pace, Frank could look to freshen things up by bringing Spence back into the side.

Pivot midfielder – Joao Palhinha: The Portuguese midfielder was also rested on Tuesday and is expected to return to the starting XI this weekend.

Pivot midfielder – Archie Gray: The youngster has had good minutes recently, but was rested on Tuesday, and since Frank used Rodrigo Bentancur and Pape Matar Sarr instead, it feels unlikely that the pair will go again together.

Centre midfielder – Lucas Bergvall: It could be back-to-back starts for Bergvall, who is settling into that number ten role under Frank.

Right winger – Mohammed Kudus: Registered an assist on Tuesday for Cristian Romero’s opener, and we expect him to remain on the right flank.

Striker – Randal Kolo Muani: He has been in solid form, and although there is a chance he drops to the bench after starting the last three games, we will still go with him as the nine.

Jamie Carragher names the manager he thinks perfectly suits Tottenham, not Thomas Frank

Jamie Carragher names the manager he thinks perfectly suits Tottenham, not Thomas Frank - Spurs Web
Description

Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has now urged Tottenham Hotspur to consider one Premier League manager should the axe drop on Thomas Frank.

Thomas Frank has come under pressure in recent weeks following a drop off in performance from his team.

Spurs are without a win in their last five Premier League games, a run that has pushed the club down into the bottom half of the table.

The football on show has been flat, with Tottenham not playing the expansive front foot style supporters crave, and that has naturally left frustration boiling among the fanbase as matches drift without real authority or spark.

Jamie Carragher names the manager Tottenham should target

Talks of a sack have already surfaced, with a section of Tottenham supporters labeling Frank as not a real Spurs manager after the defeat to Fulham last weekend.

Boos have been heard inside the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on several occasions this season as Frank’s side struggle to impose themselves, and the feeling that change is needed is slowly creeping into the wider conversation.

Jamie Carragher has now given his view on who he believes should replace Frank if Tottenham decide to act.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Speaking on The Overlap, the Sky Sports pundit explained why Marco Silva fits the mould.

He said, “I actually think he was the one manager Everton should have stuck with.

“I have always seen Silva at Tottenham, I am not saying Tottenham as in change Thomas Frank put Marco Silva in.

“The point I am trying to make is not quite go from Fulham to like you know a Liverpool or Manchester City you think going to sort of compete for the league but sort of that sort of level just belong with it trying to get you know Champions League maybe, you know Aston Villa, that type of team that would almost be the next step for him in the Premier League. I think he probably deserves one of those jobs.”

Why Marco Silva is not a good fit for Spurs

Frank is under pressure, but he did buy respite as he ended Tottenham’s run of three defeats in a row in all competitions with a draw against Newcastle on Tuesday night.

However, the performance on the night was not convincing as Newcastle outplayed Tottenham for long stretches, and Spurs were fortunate to come away with a point.

Silva already got the better of Frank earlier this season, yet his approach does not fully align with the brand of football Tottenham supporters demand, despite his name now entering the discussion.

Premier League club move ahead of Tottenham in race to sign Antoine Semenyo

Premier League club move ahead of Tottenham in race to sign Antoine Semenyo - Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham Hotspur are eager to bring Antoine Semenyo to North London, but the player wishes to make contact with a Premier League rival.

There is no greater need in the Tottenham first-team squad than on the left wing. This has been made clear by Thomas Frank, who continues to rotate between Brennan Johnson and Wilson Odobert, while even Richarlison and Xavi Simons have featured out wide.

Reports suggest Antoine Semenyo is one of the top transfer targets at Tottenham Hotspur, and Spurs are intensifying their interest in the winger.

However, doubts have already been raised about whether Tottenham will be able to sign Semenyo, as Liverpool are ahead of them in the race to sign the Premier League star.

Manchester City overtake Tottenham in their pursuit of Antoine Semenyo

In a new update on Semenyo, Team Talk report that Spurs are not viewed as a desirable option due to their poor form and position in the Premier League table.

Manchester City would be a more attractive destination and the club have made formal enquiries about Semenyo’s £65m release clause.

The 25-year-old is reportedly ‘keen to engage’ with Manchester City after they made contact with Bournemouth to discuss the specifics around a potential deal.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Tottenham eyed Semenyo in the summer and are keen on his directness, but the interest from other Premier League clubs means signing him is unlikely at this point.

Spurs are interested in Samu Aghehowa as well as Semenyo

Although Tottenham are in a poor position to sign Semenyo, the club have also shown interest in Porto youngster Samu Aghehowa.

The forward has scored 10 goals in 17 appearances across all competitions this season and could be a more realistic option in January.

Of course, he too is attracting interest from other clubs, but bringing him to North London is at least a possibility.

Description

Tottenham Hotspur are now facing an alarming issue under Thomas Frank as one key trend continues to worsen.

Tottenham Hotspur have been inconsistent in the past few weeks under Thomas Frank, with results and performances on the pitch nothing to write home about.

Spurs fans have not been shy about making their feelings clear, with many interested in seeing their side be more attacking in games.

However, the opposite has been the case for most of the season, with Tottenham more often than not being outplayed by sides below and above them in the Premier League table, and now statistics have exposed a worrying trend in Frank’s side.

Tottenham attacking numbers expose a worrying decline under Frank

The underlying numbers now support how poorly Tottenham have performed in attack in the last month.

It has been revealed that Spurs have not had a single shot on target in the first half of a Premier League game since November 1.

To put that into perspective, the last time Spurs managed a shot on target in the first half of a league game was back on October 26 against Everton, where they won 3-0.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Ever since then, Tottenham has gone on to play five games, and in that time, they have not threatened the opposition goalkeeper in the first half of matches.

Spurs struggle to test goalkeepers continues as December begins

We are in December now, and that trend continues as Spurs once more failed to hit the target in the first half in their clash against Newcastle.

In fact, it was not until the 78th minute that Tottenham managed a shot on target, when Cristian Romero’s diving header found the back of the net.

Unsurprisingly, Tottenham’s poor run of results coincides with this worrying stat, as they have not won any games where they have not managed a shot on target in their last outings since November.

Tottenham and Liverpool hold ‘advanced talks’ over signing Xavi Simons’ old teammate - Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham Hotspur have just made a big move towards signing one of Xavi Simons’ former teammates in January.

Tottenham Hotspur are in the market for a new winger after a summer which saw Heung-min Son and Bryan Gil depart the club, while Manor Solomon was loaned to Villarreal.

It has been said that Spurs are plotting a move for Antoine Semenyo. The Bournemouth winger has already bagged six goals and 3 assists in 13 Premier League appearances this season.

There have also been talks about Tottenham showing interest in Yan Diomande, a 19-year-old who is valued at £88m.

Tottenham Hotspur step up interest in Yan Diomande

According to Sky Sports Switzerland, Tottenham have held advanced talks with Diomande’s entourage, but they face competition from Liverpool.

Spurs have been monitoring Diomande for several months, and he has caught the eye of Thomas Frank in particular because he is a dynamic player who can break through defences.

RB Leipzig remain calm for the time being as they have not entered into official talks with any potential buyers. They are closely monitoring discussions involving their young forward, who has four goals and four assists already this season.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Tottenham could benefit from Liverpool signing Antoine Semenyo

Although Spurs want to sign Semenyo, it could be beneficial for the club if Liverpool are the team to secure the Bournemouth star.

After all, it seems unlikely he will choose to play his football at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the latter half of this season.

This could mean Liverpool cool their interest in Diomande, allowing Tottenham to swoop in and seal a deal. However, Spurs may be reluctant to pay £88m, so there could be some negotiating to be done before an agreement is made.
