Description

Tottenham fans have been waiting for over a week for the announcement of Kota Takai’s signing, and there has now been an official communication which suggests a potential date for the Japanese defender’s arrival at Hotspur Way.

Kota Takai is expected to become Tottenham’s second signing of the summer window following the permanent capture of Mathys Tel, with the Lilywhites reportedly striking a £5m deal to sign the young centre-back from J-League side Kawasaki Frontale.

According to reports, Takai has rejected the likes of Udinese, Borussia Monchengladbach and Hoffenheim in favour of a move to N17.

The centre-back, who won the J League Young Player of the Year award, is rated very highly in his home country, with Johan Lange reportedly identifying Takai for his comfort in playing on both sides of central defence.

Kota Takai’s Tottenham arrival could be confirmed this week

It has now been over a week since the news of his arrival first broke and with pre-season fast approaching, many Spurs fans have been left wondering what the hold-up is.

They now have an answer as Alasdair Gold has revealed that Kawasaki Frontale have announced that the 20-year-old will be leaving the team on July 5 to begin the process of joining “an overseas club”.

MORE SPURS STORIES

That means that Takai could link up with the Spurs squad at Hotspur Way at the start of next week.

He will be joined by the non-international Tottenham stars, who will be the first ones to report for pre-season training under Thomas Frank later this week.

Spurs fans have reason to be excited about Takai’s arrival

While the youngster is facing a huge step up at Tottenham, he has thrived on the big stage already, including impressing for Japan in their World Cup qualifiers.

Takai also reportedly had Cristiano Ronaldo and Sadio Mane in his pocket in the AFC Champions League semifinal back in April.

Description

Tottenham Hotspur are about to taste defeat in their pursuit of a prolific striker, just 24 hours after Antoine Semenyo seemingly took himself off the market too.

A rejig of Tottenham’s forward line appears to be on the cards this summer, with reports indicating that Thomas Frank has given Tottenham the go-ahead to sell Richarlison.

If the Brazilian does leave, Spurs will almost certainly enter the market for another striker. The club have already missed out on one of Frank’s top targets, with Bryan Mbeumo snubbing Tottenham in favour of a switch to Man United.

Last week, it was claimed that Spurs had reignited their interest in Jonathan David, who will be leaving Lille on a free transfer after his contract ran out, but the Lilywhites are now about to miss out on the Canadian international as well.

This comes just 24 hours after Tottenham target Antoine Semenyo signed a new Bournemouth contract, effectively taking him off the table for Spurs this summer.

Fabrizio Romano has now taken to social media to reveal that Juventus are close to announcing an agreement with David.

He claims that the Bianconeri have sent a new contract offer to the striker earlier this week, before reaching an agreement on terms on Tuesday night.

MORE SPURS STORIES

The journalist even gave the deal his famous ‘here we go’, taking another Tottenham Hotspur target off the market this summer.

David to Juventus may open the door for Tottenham to sign Kolo Muani

Last week, it was reported by TBR Football that Tottenham remain interested in PSG star Randal Kolo Munai after failing to land him back in January.

The outlet explained that the Frenchman’s preference was to make a permanent switch to Turin following his loan spell at the club, but added that Spurs are ready to pounce if Juve are not able to agree a deal.

Why Mohammed Kudus should not be Tottenham’s number one transfer target

Why Mohammed Kudus should not be Tottenham’s number one transfer target - Spurs Web
Description

Mohammed Kudus is looking increasingly likely to join Tottenham Hotspur, but his performances last season should be a concern.

Tottenham have been linked with a number of attacking players during the summer transfer window and one name that has been repeatedly brought up is West Ham winger Mohammed Kudus.

Fabrizio Romano has confirmed Spurs are engaging in positive talks to sign Kudus, although two unnamed clubs are also interested.

Kudus is the most likely attacker to join Tottenham, despite Eberechi Eze, Bryan Mbeumo and Antoine Semenyo all having been linked with a move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

While the West Ham star has a mind-blowing £85m release clause, Tottenham could sign Kudus for £60m, as West Ham need to make a sale due to their PSR issues.

Tottenham are still overpaying for Mohammed Kudus

Of all the wingers and attacking midfielders currently linked with a move to Spurs, Kudus is the least exciting, in my opinion.

The 24-year-old could not even earn the approval of his own supporters last season, and for good reason. He only managed a measly five goals and three assists in 32 Premier League appearances, which does not come close to justifying his price tag.

MORE SPURS STORIES

A BBC Sport article earlier this month revealed some West Ham supporters would be happy to cash in on Kudus. One claimed he was still one of the club’s best players, but others noted his poor displays last season, with a supporter describing his drop-off in performance as ‘astounding’.

There is no doubt that Kudus is a player with some good skills and capabilities. He is strong on the ball and an excellent dribbler. However, he can be poor in the final third, often making questionable decisions, while his passing could use some improvement. He would not be a bad signing at the right price, but that price is not £60m.

Spurs need a reliable and consistent goalscorer

Dominic Solanke has already taken the role of playing well without registering a reasonable number of goal contributions. Spurs need a winger who is going to pose a threat in front of goal, and even in Kudus’ better season at West Ham, he only scored eight times in the league.

Brennan Johnson scored 11 times in Tottenham’s last league campaign. Would Kudus start ahead of him and if not, why would Spurs be willing to pay £60m for him?

The difference between Mbeumo and Kudus is night and day, but the former seemingly does not want to join Spurs. Also, Eze is seemingly keen on a move to Arsenal. Therefore, there is some reason for Tottenham to be interested in Kudus.

However, his performances last season were simply not good enough to warrant Spurs spending a near-record transfer fee. I suppose the question is, if not Kudus, then who?

Eze could end up at Arsenal, Semenyo has signed a new contract, and Bryan Mbuemo seems destined for Manchester United. As usual, Tottenham pay the price for moving slow and moving weak.

Tottenham can raise £60m Mohammed Kudus transfer fee by selling three players - Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham could raise the money needed to fund a move for Mohammed Kudus by selling three fringe players this summer, with £60 million the reported fee that could be enough to convince West Ham to sell.

Tottenham Hotspur are now reported to be going all in on Mohammed Kudus, with reports from Fabrizio Romano stating that the club are looking to accelerate talks with West Ham United.

Tottenham fans are already convinced Kudus would improve their attack should he be signed, with many urging the club to get the deal done for the Hammers winger.

Kudus has an £85 million release clause, but Tottenham are hopeful of landing the Hammers winger for a cut-price deal, with £60 million reported to be enough to prise him away from the London Stadium.

If Daniel Levy and his team are unwilling to inject significant funds into the squad this summer, then player sales could be the easiest route to reaching the £60 million valuation.

We have now highlighted three players Spurs could sell to raise £60 million for Mohammed Kudus this summer.

Tottenham could sell Richarlison to fund half the Mohammed Kudus deal

It is no news that Richarlison’s future at Tottenham is uncertain, as it was revealed a few weeks ago that the forward is considering a move away from Spurs as he is eager to get into the Brazil squad ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

MORE SPURS STORIES

The 28-year-old forward has not been short of options, with clubs in Saudi Arabia showing interest in Richarlison, while Fenerbahce are also keen on bringing the Brazilian forward to Turkey.

It was recently reported that Thomas Frank has greenlit Richarlison’s sale and that Spurs are not looking to loan him out, but are instead aiming for a permanent exit.

£20million is the rumoured price Spurs would be looking to demand. However, the Lilywhites could push for a £30million transfer, which, while lower than the £50million they paid for Richarlison, would still help fund a move for Kudus.

Spurs could also sell Manor Solomon for £15 million

Solomon is another sellable asset Tottenham have and one who already has interest from sides in the Premier League, which is ideal.

At the moment, Leeds United are keen on making Solomon’s move back to Elland Road permanent, and a fee in the region of £15million has been rumoured as what the newly promoted side is willing to pay.

If Tottenham can sanction a sale at that price tag, that would bolster their financial pot. £30million from Richarlison and £15million from Solomon would leave Tottenham just £15 million away from the £60 million price tag West Ham have put on Mohammed Kudus.

Yves Bissouma’s inconsistency could see him move for £15 million

Yves Bissouma is one Spurs player with 12 months left on his contract and, given the Malian’s inconsistencies, it remains to be seen if Tottenham would offer him another deal.

Bissouma was inconsistent for most of last season, with the holding midfielder eventually finding himself down the pecking order as Lucas Bergvall replaced him in the starting eleven.

Back in March, crunch talks were reported to have been held with the 28-year-old midfielder, and it was claimed that Tottenham are looking to sell Bissouma.

So far, interest has come from Fenerbahce, who are looking to sign Bissouma this summer, and if Tottenham can sell him for £15million, then they would have successfully raised the £60million needed to sign Kudus from West Ham.

Tottenham transfer target puts an end to rumours by signing bumper contract until 2030 - Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham have been dealt a major blow in their pursuit of Antoine Semenyo, as the Bournemouth forward has now committed his long-term future to the Cherries.

Given how impressive Bournemouth performed last season, finishing ninth in the Premier League, several clubs across Europe have been shopping from the Cherries.

Liverpool recently signed Milos Kerkez this summer, while Real Madrid paid the release clause for highly rated Spanish centre-back Dean Hujisen.

Tottenham, on the other hand, were showing strong interest in Antoine Semenyo, following his impressive display last term, where he grabbed 11 goals and six assists in 37 Premier League appearances.

Tottenham will have to look elsewhere for a new winger

While Semenyo was believed to be a player who could bolster Tottenham’s attack, it has since been revealed that Spurs are no longer pushing for Semenyo, as the Cherries’ £65 million valuation was deemed excessive.

Fabrizio Romano has now shared another update that should end all speculation of Semenyo’s departure from the Vitality Stadium. According to the Italian journalist, Semenyo has now signed a new long-term deal at Bournemouth, valid until June 2030.

The transfer expert labels Bournemouth’s move as a crucial one, as they look to keep hold of one of their top players.

Spurs now eye move for Mohammed Kudus

For Tottenham, they have now turned their attention to another Premier League winger, with recent reports claiming that Mohammed Kudus is now top of Spurs’ list this summer.

The versatile wide forward, capable of playing across the frontline, scored five goals and assisted three last term, and it is claimed that he is open to a move to north London.

Former Crystal Palace manager tells Eberechi Eze to pick Tottenham over Arsenal

Former Crystal Palace manager tells Eberechi Eze to pick Tottenham over Arsenal - Spurs Web
Description

Former Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew has advised Eberechi Eze to reject Arsenal’s advances in favour of a move to Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

The Eze transfer saga has had plenty of twists and turns over the last weeks and it would appear that Tottenham are no longer favourites to win the race for the England international

While it was claimed last week that Spurs were prepared to meet Eze’s £68m release clause, it has been claimed by several sources over the last few days that Tottenham have backed off from a deal for the Crystal Palace star.

It has been suggested over the past 24 hours that Arsenal are considering making an offer for Eberechi Eze and multiple outlets are claiming that the 27-year-old is in favour of a move to the Emirates Stadium.

Alan Pardew tells Eberechi Eze why he should join Tottenham

Pardew believes that the former QPR man’s addition may not necessarily take Arsenal to the Premier League title, pointing out that Mikel Arteta’s men already have enough quality on the flanks and in the number ten role.

He urged Eze to reject the Gunner’s advances and move to Spurs to be part of Thomas Frank’s project at N17.

Pardew told talkSPORT: “My Arsenal friends, all June (said) if they get the right number nine, they’ve got a great chance of winning the league and I do agree with that.

MORE SPURS STORIES

“Would Eze take them nearer to that title? Possibly but I think they’ve got enough quality with everybody there. So, therefore, I have answered your question. I think he should go to Spurs if he leaves the great Crystal Palace.”

Pardew offers a prediction on Eze’s future amid Arsenal talks

While Pardew believes that Tottenham Hotspur would be a better fit for the Palace star over Arsenal, he expects the Eagles to hang onto the attacking midfielder this summer.

The 63-year-old has backed the South London club to hold firm amidst offers for Eze and does not think that the Spurs target will agitate for a move.

He added about Eze’s future: “He’s secured for two or three years on his contract so I think they can be a bit bolder. I don’t think there’s any financial pressure there. They have new owners in Crystal Palace, more funds coming in.

“So I think Eze will stay and I don’t think that’s a bad thing because I think he’s one of those who doesn’t get stressed out by things. He’s quite a cool guy, he’s quite grounded. I think he’ll have another great year at Crystal Palace, hopefully.”

Description

Arsenal are now pushing forward with a move to sign a former Tottenham Hotspur winger, and this development could end up handing a major transfer boost to the Lilywhites.

The Gunners have already won a decisive transfer victory over their fierce rivals this summer, with Arsenal on the verge of beating Tottenham to Christian Norgaard.

It has also emerged over recent days that Arsenal are now advancing on a move to sign Spurs target Eberechi Eze, who is thought to be ready to move to the Emirates.

It now turns out that Mikel Arteta’s men are now pushing ahead with a move to land a former Spurs youngster, who was tipped to achieve big things during his time at Hotspur Way.

Arsenal have submitted an offer for ex-Tottenham Noni Madueke

Sky Sports Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg has now taken to social media to reveal that the Gunners have made an offer for Chelsea winger Noni Madueke, who could be on his way out of Stamford Bridge.

The winger came through the ranks of the Tottenham Hotspur academy but left the North Londoners in 2018 for PSV Eindhoven in search of first-team opportunities.

His impressive performances for the Dutch giants saw Chelsea bring him back to England two years ago, and it now turns out that Arsenal are looking to take the youngster to the Emirates.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Ironically, Noni Madueke has also been linked with a return to Tottenham this summer.

Madueke was seen by many at Spurs as a guaranteed first-team prospect, but as fate would have it, he may end up playing senior football for two of Tottenham’s fiercest rivals before donning the Lilywhite shirt.

Why Arsenal’s interest in Madueke is both good news and bad news for Spurs

If Arsenal do secure Madueke, that could potentially make them less likely to bid for Eze, possibly opening the door for Tottenham to secure the Crystal Palace star.

However, it has been reported over recent days that Chelsea remain interested in Mohammed Kudus, but they would have to sell some players before they can make an offer for the West Ham man.

Tottenham have competition from three Premier League rivals in Tyler Dibling race

Tottenham have competition from three Premier League rivals in Tyler Dibling race - Spurs Web
Description

Former Tottenham Hotspur scout Mick Brown has now revealed that three Premier League sides are battling it out for rumoured Spurs target Tyler Dibling and has offered advice to the Southampton man on who he should join.

It has been widely reported that Thomas Frank’s main focus this summer is on strengthening Tottenham’s attack.

With the Lilywhites looking to miss out on Bryan Mbeumo, sources have indicated that Spurs are currently tracking the likes of Mohammed Kudus, Xavi Simons, Eberechi Eze and Antoine Semenyo.

Tyler Dibling was said to be at the top of Tottenham’s wishlist earlier this summer, but the speculation linking the Southampton winger with a move to N17 has died down a bit over recent weeks, with Spurs seemingly focusing on the names mentioned above.

Tottenham are not one of the front-runners for Tyler Dibling

Mick Brown, who worked as a scout at Spurs for over a decade, and also spent time at Manchester United and Blackburn Rovers, has now named the clubs that are currently vying for the Southampton man’s signature.

Interestingly, he makes no mention of Tottenham, instead naming Newcastle, Liverpool and Crystal Palace as the ones battling it out for the 19-year-old.

Brown told Football Insider: “If Dibling leaves Southampton, he has to be smart about where he goes. “There’s been interest from Newcastle and Liverpool, but if he goes to either of those two it would be as one for the future rather than an immediate first-team option.

MORE SPURS STORIES

“From his point of view, he needs to be playing regular football at this stage of his career. Somewhere like Crystal Palace would be a better move for him. I’m told they’re interested, and would be prepared to offer him more regular football.

“They’re being ambitious after qualifying for Europe and want to improve their squad. So if he’s smart, he’ll look at Palace and what they’ve done with the likes of Eze, Wharton and Olise, and he’ll think he can follow in their footsteps.

“For Palace, I think they’ll believe they can beat other team to signing him, and they’ll be patient with his development while he’s there. The only issue is whether they could afford him. Southampton are asking for a lot of money and it’s putting teams off, so a lot will depend on whether they’re prepared to negotiate his asking price.”

Is Thomas Frank not keen on Dibling?

Based on the fact that speculation linking Dibling with a move to Tottenham has stopped over the last few weeks, one may conclude that Frank is not too keen on the Saints teenager.

Perhaps Spurs’ interest in the England Under-21 was being driven by Ange Postecoglou, with the Australian’s departure potentially putting an end to the North London club’s pursuit of the winger.

Worrying Xavi Simons update for Tottenham as Premier League rivals join race - Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham’s pursuit of Xavi Simons might have just got a lot harder as a new report has revealed that a Premier League club, who are also in next season’s Champions League, are now considering pushing forward with a move for the RB Leipzig attacker.

Spurs have not had a good start to the transfer window, with Man United on the verge of beating the Lilywhites to Bryan Mbeumo, while reports indicate that Arsenal are expected to beat Tottenham to Christian Norgaard.

Over the last few weeks, several outlets have claimed that Spurs have made advances towards Xavi Simons, whose future at Leipzig is in doubt.

Some sources have even installed Tottenham as one of the favourites to land Simons, but that may be about to change as another Premier League club are now turning their attention towards the Dutchman.

Newcastle threaten to beat Tottenham to Xavi Simons

This update comes from GiveMeSport, who claim that Newcastle are now threatening to raid Leipzig for Simons, as well as Antonio Nusa, as Eddie Howe looks to reinforce his forward line.

The report states that the Magpies have shown interest in both players, but it is unclear from the update whether they want to sign both or one of the two.

It is explained that Newcastle see Simons as the cheaper option, with the 22-year-old expected to cost £40m, as opposed to Nusa, who is priced at £60m. Ironically, Tottenham have also been linked with Antonio Nusa in recent weeks.

MORE SPURS STORIES

It is revealed that the Netherlands international’s representatives are in contact with Newcastle, but they are also said to be speaking to several other Premier League clubs, including Tottenham Hotspur.

Simons wants to move to the Premier League

GiveMeSport make it clear that Newcastle could face a lot of competition for the Leipzig winger, with not just Spurs, but also Arsenal and Man United having enquired about the player’s availability.

The outlet says that even though Simons has two years left on his contract, he is determined to leave the Red Bull Arena to take on a new challenge this summer.

The versatile attacker is thought to be ‘eager to discover’ whether any of his English suitors are prepared to make an offer for him and hammer out a deal with Leipzig.

Five players Tottenham could offer West Ham in Mohammed Kudus exchange bid

Five players Tottenham could offer West Ham in Mohammed Kudus exchange bid - Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham Hotspur could help West Ham United beat Financial Fair Play constraints with a few swap deals, as they ramp up efforts to land Mohammed Kudus this summer.

One does not often see a player move from West Ham United to Tottenham Hotspur, with the last of such transfers happening back in 2011, when Scott Parker made the switch.

This summer could see something similar happen, as Mohammed Kudus has been strongly linked with a move to Tottenham, West Ham’s bitter rivals.

It is claimed that while the Hammers are not entirely open to doing business with Spurs, their financial problems could very well force their hands.

West Ham need to sell to stay within PSR limits, and Kudus is seen as a sellable asset. Given the Hammers’ financial situation, the West Ham could sell Kudus to Tottenham for below his £85m release clause this summer, with £60 million being deemed enough by the Hammers.

Tottenham could try to sweeten the deal for Kudus this summer by offering some of their players to West Ham United. Let’s take a look at five expendable players they could offer to get the price down a little.

Tottenham could include Richarlison in Mohammed Kudus deal

It was claimed that one of the reasons why Kudus is deemed a sellable asset is that West Ham United manager Graham Potter believes the Ghanaian international is more dangerous on the right.

MORE SPURS STORIES

However, the right-wing spot is currently occupied by Hammers captain Jarrod Bowen and, given the Englishman’s influence, the club would rather keep him.

Tottenham, on the other hand, are reported to be looking to sell Richarlison this summer, and Richarlison himself is said to be considering a move away from north London.

With West Ham expected to be short of a winger should Mohammed Kudus leave, Tottenham could sweeten the deal by offering the Hammers the 28-year-old forward, who would not only be able to cover the left-wing spot but could also do a job as a striker for Potter’s men.

Yves Bissouma could reinforce West Ham United’s midfield

West Ham United need extra legs in midfield, particularly one who could carry the ball and also mop up defensively.

The East London club have been linked with a fair few holding midfielders this summer, including Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Richard Rios, a player Spurs are also monitoring.

However, given their PSR limit, should Tottenham pay and offer a swap deal that includes Yves Bissouma, then the Hammers would have one less signing to worry about.

Spurs are willing to sell Bissouma, who was inconsistent last season, but showed glimpses of his quality in the Lilywhites’ semi-final and final clashes in the Europa League.

Having worked with Graham Potter at Brighton, perhaps he could rediscover the form that got him on the radar of Tottenham and become the holding midfielder the Hammers need.

Radu Dragusin could thrive in West Ham United’s back three

West Ham United, under Graham Potter, are currently deploying a 3-4-2-1 formation, which should be ideal for a player like Radu Dragusin, who tends to struggle in Tottenham’s high-risk football.

Dragusin, at the moment, is reported to have attracted interest from AC Milan, but if Tottenham are looking to offload the Romanian international, they could try to offer him to West Ham United, who, for a club using a back three, currently lack defensive depth.

Of course, given that Dragusin has played 25 games in the Premier League since joining Tottenham, he is not entirely new to English football and could certainly do a job in a back three where he would be less exposed.

Manor Solomon could replace Mohammed Kudus on the left

Manor Solomon only just had an impressive spell in the Championship with Leeds United, after leading Daniel Farke’s men back to England’s top flight.

The winger grabbed 23 goal involvements in all competitions last season, scoring 10 times and assisting 13 in 41 appearances.

Solomon has already started attracting interest from Premier League sides, as Leeds are keen to sign the Israeli winger permanently.

Meanwhile, Everton are said to be showing interest in the 25-year-old as well. UEFA Champions League side Marseille were also in the race for Solomon, but pulled out for political reasons.

The player’s stocks are high, and there are even some reports claiming that he could remain at Tottenham this season.

However, should Tottenham get Mohammed Kudus, his chances of featuring regularly could be reduced; hence why a swap deal to West Ham could be ideal for both parties, as he could bolster the Hammers’ attack.

Ben Davies brings Premier League experience to the table

Ben Davies is another player who could be included in a deal for Kudus this summer if Tottenham are looking to sweeten their offer.

Of course, Davies is a player with loads of Premier League experience, having made over 300 league appearances.

The Welshman is also versatile enough to feature as a full-back and a centre-back, which would bode well for West Ham, who need more numbers in defence.

However, with Davies currently 32 years old, it is unlikely the Hammers would be extremely keen on a deal that sees Spurs take one of their younger forwards for a veteran defender. Regardless, Davies remains an option for Tottenham if they are considering a swap plus cash deal.
