Description

A report has revealed when Tottenham players are set to reunite with new head coach Thomas Frank as the club outlines their pre-season plans ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

Tottenham Hotspur have now settled their managerial situation with the appointment of Thomas Frank, following the dismissal of Ange Postecoglou before the start of the new season.

The former Brentford boss is expected to bring with him four members of his backroom team from west London, including ex-Tottenham figure Justin Cochrane, who returns to familiar surroundings in a new role.

Frank has already addressed the Tottenham supporters, outlining his vision for the side and what he believes will be non-negotiable under his management.

When Thomas Frank is to meet the Tottenham players

Several Tottenham players remain on international duty, while others are still enjoying their off-season holidays, but Football.london has now revealed when the new Spurs boss will officially begin working with his squad.

It is understood that the first group of players will begin reporting back to Hotspur Way in the latter part of the first week of July.

They will undergo physical testing, blood work and fitness assessments before getting started on the training pitch under Frank and his freshly assembled coaching staff.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Meanwhile, sixteen players who have featured for their countries post-season will be given a few more days off, should they wish to take them, and are expected to return to training during the second week of July.

For the younger crop involved in the U21 and U19 European Championships – players such as Archie Gray, Mathys Tel, Wilson Odobert, Mikey Moore and Reiss-Alexander Russell-Denny – additional rest days will be granted once their respective tournaments conclude.

Spurs set for pre-season friendlies ahead of 2025/26 season

Once the squad is fully reunited, preparations will step up ahead of Tottenham’s pre-season friendly fixture against Luton Town, which is set to take place at Kenilworth Road on July 26.

It has also been reported that an additional pre-season match is likely to be announced before the Luton clash, although specific details regarding the opponent and date are yet to be confirmed.

There is also the possibility of one or two behind-closed-doors friendlies at the training ground, which would give Frank the opportunity to fine-tune his tactics and assess his squad in a competitive setting before the official friendlies get underway.

Kyle Walker reveals the time he had to be Heung-min Son’s dummy in wild South Korea trip - Spurs Web
Description

Kyle Walker has recalled a story about the astonishing fan reaction to Heung-min Son during one of Tottenham’s early pre-season tours of Asia.

Son remains one of Tottenham Hotspur’s most marketable players, thanks to his legendary status in the Premier League and N17.

Of course, the 32-year-old’s influence goes beyond England, as a huge number of his fans are from his own country, Korea.

In fact, the Tottenham captain’s reach is set to go beyond football, as it was reported that Fortnite has struck a deal with Son to have his skin in the game, as they look to attract fans from the Middle East.

Kyle Walker had to be a dummy Sonny in South Korea

Kyle Walker, who spent eight years at Tottenham before leaving for Manchester City, has now opened up on just how loved Heung-min Son is in Korea.

The former Tottenham full-back has revealed that the Koreans’ influence in Asia is like nothing he has ever seen, despite having a close relationship with stars like Lampard, Beckham and Rooney.

He told BBC Sport: “I went to South Korea with Sonny. I had never seen anything like it. We would do an appearance… There was me, Kevin Wimmer, Ben Davies and Sonny.

MORE SPURS STORIES

“But we were like the jokers for him. And we would have to send a dummy vehicle pretending that Sonny had gone.

“All these cars, all these people… So they could get rid of everyone. Then obviously… They would corner the vehicle, stop it, see Sonny was not in the car and we would be away.

“You know, but then they came back to the hotel we were staying in just all night, they sat out there. It was incredible. I had never seen anything like it. As I said, I have seen Rooney and, you know, Lampard, Beckham to a certain degree like that. But he was beyond them.”

Tottenham continue to capitalise on Heung-min Son’s popularity

Of course, Tottenham are no strangers to the influence of Son in Asia, as Daniel Levy has often been accused by Spurs fans of milking the Middle East by organising pre-season tours there in the last three seasons.

Last season alone, it was reported that Tottenham earned at least £10 million from their Japan tour. In the back end of July, Spurs would once more be visiting Asia for their pre-season tour, with games against Arsenal and Newcastle scheduled before the start of the 2025/26 season.

Tottenham could hand Jose Mourinho a major transfer blow after £26m bid - Spurs Web
Description

Jose Mourinho may be handed a blow by Tottenham Hotspur in the pursuit of a Ligue 1 star, who is now playing the waiting game after hearing that Spurs and other Premier League clubs are interested in his services.

With Richarlison expected to depart Tottenham this summer, the North London club are expected to be in the market for a centre-forward to offer competition to Dominic Solanke.

It was reported last month that Tottenham are plotting a move for Nice striker Evann Guessand, who found the back of the net 13 times and provided 10 assists across all competitions last season.

Since then, Fenerbahce have stepped up their pursuit of the 23-year-old, but Tottenham Hotspur have now been handed a lifeline in their chase for the young forward.

Evann Guessand is playing a waiting game but Tottenham have to hurry

This report comes from GiveMeSport, who say that Fenerbahce have already launched a £26m offer for the Ivory Coast international.

Additionally, Guessand has already spoken to Mourinho about a potential switch to Istanbul, but the striker has now decided to press the pause button on a move to Turkey.

This is because he is now anticipating offers from the Premier League and wants to see if a bidding war emerges for his services this summer.

MORE SPURS STORIES

The report says Tottenham are keen on winning the race for the striker, but it explains that Spurs are in danger of being beaten to the player’s services if they do not step up their pursuit.

Tottenham face competition from Premier League rivals for Guessand

GiveMeSport make it clear that Spurs are not the only Premier League side who have signalled an intention to sign the Nice star.

The likes of Arsenal, Newcastle United, Aston Villa, West Ham United, Brighton & Hove Albion, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Bournemouth and Leeds United have all sent scouts to watch the forward in action, and are contemplating a move.

Additionally, Juventus are also considering whether to make an offer for the 23-year-old centre-forward.

It is explained that none of these clubs would have an issue meeting the player’s salary demands, as Guessand is currently on a £15,000 per week contract at Nice.

Journalist hands Tottenham major boost by rubbishing latest Bryan Mbeumo claims - Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham Hotspur have just been handed a major boost in their pursuit of Bryan Mbeumo by journalist Duncan Castles, who has explained why the Lilywhites stand a good chance of beating Manchester United to the Brentford forward’s services.

Over the last few days, various sources have claimed that Tottenham and Man United are locked in a fierce transfer battle for Mbeumo’s signature.

According to some reports, Spurs were willing to offer a bigger transfer fee and a better salary than Man United for Mbeumo, but despite this, it has been alleged that the Red Devils are the favourites to beat Tottenham to the Brentford star.

In fact, Rudy Galetti even claimed a couple of days ago that Spurs are on the verge of abandoning their pursuit of Mbeumo after finding out that the Cameroon international has his heart set on a move to Old Trafford.

Duncan Castles rubbishes claim about Mbeumo’s transfer desire

However, these claims have been dismissed out of hand by Duncan Castles in the latest episode of the Transfers Podcast.

Castles claimed that Mbeumo has not communicated to any party that he only wants to join Man United this summer, with the forward yet to decide on his future.

In fact, the journalist alleges that if Tottenham Hotspur and United are both willing to meet Brentford’s £70m valuation, there is a good chance that the player will prefer a move to North London.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Castles alleges that the Thomas Frank factor could play a role in swaying the deal in the Lilywhites’ favour.

Tottenham are also making moves for a Bryan Mbeumo alternative

Several outlets have claimed over the last week Spurs are ready to turn their attention to Antonine Semenyo if Mbeumo rejects them.

Just a couple of days ago, TEAMtalk claimed that Tottenham are intensifying their efforts to land Semenyo after their pursuit of the Brentford man had stalled.

Huge Xavi Simons transfer update after Tottenham make an ‘active enquiry’ - Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham Hotspur have been named as one to watch in the race for Xavi Simons by journalist Ben Jacobs, who has explained the steps that the Lilywhites have taken to sign the RB Leipzig star this summer.

Regular readers of Spurs Web will be aware that several outlets over the recent weeks have backed Tottenham to push ahead with a big-money move for Simons, whose future at RB Leipzig is thought to be up in the air.

However, Tottenham are expected to face competition from Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool for Simons, who is quickly emerging as one of the most hotly contested signings of the summer.

It was reported by The Athletic a couple of days ago that Simons has informed Leipzig that he wants to leave, with the Bundesliga club expected to demand €70m (£60m) for the 22-year-old’s services.

Ben Jacobs reveals steps Tottenham have taken in Xavi Simons pursuit

Ben Jacobs has now named Tottenham Hotspur as ones to watch in the race for the Dutchman, revealing that the North Londoners have made an active enquiry about the player’s willingness to join them as well as Leipzig’s demands.

The journalist explains that Bayern Munich are also fans of the versatile attacking midfielder, but he is not a priority for the Bundesliga side right now.

When asked about the race for Simons’ signature, Jacobs said on GiveMeSport’s Market Madness podcast: “There are a couple of suitors that are looking. One is Bayern Munich, outside the Premier League, who are going to spend some serious money. We know their number one position, though, is a left-sided attacker first and foremost.

MORE SPURS STORIES

“You have Tottenham, who could be one to watch as well. They’re going to be looking for a right-sided attacker first, but don’t rule out this kind of profile for them as well. I can only tell you about Spurs, who have made an active enquiry to just understand the desire on the player’s side and also the price.

“Nothing is advanced at this point, and it might be the kind of deal that happens a little bit later in the window. Heung-min Son is going to go off and do pre-season with Spurs and then, after that, decide on his future.”

Tottenham are also eyeing several other wide attackers

This report comes amidst heavy speculation that Tottenham are one of the biggest contenders to land Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace this summer.

It has also been claimed that Spurs have stepped up their pursuit of Antoine Semenyo, with the Lilywhites thought to be big fans of the Bournemouth star.

What Thomas Frank has told Tottenham about Eberechi Eze pursuit - Spurs Web
Description

As Tottenham Hotspur step up their pursuit of attacking reinforcements amidst the uncertainty over the future of captain Heung-min Son, a new report has now shed light on what Thomas Frank has told the club’s recruitment department about Eberechi Eze.

According to reports over recent days, Frank is prioritising strengthening Tottenham’s attack this summer, amidst the possibility that Son might exit the club.

However, some outlets have suggested that the Dane might miss out on his top attacking target, with Spurs allegedly considering abandoning their pursuit of Bryan Mbeumo after hearing that the Brentford star wants to join Manchester United.

However, this has been contradicted by a new report, which says that Spurs have not given up on Mbeumo just yet, but they are also pushing ahead with moves for other alternatives.

Thomas Frank has approved Tottenham signing Eberechi Eze

This report comes from TBR Football and claims that Spurs are still trying to tie up a deal for the Cameroon international, but they are also exploring a move for Eze.

The Crystal Palace man is thought to be near the top of Tottenham Hotspur’s wishlist, with the Lilywhites having liked the versatile attacker since his days at QPR.

Interestingly, the outlet alleges that Frank has told Spurs officials that he appreciates the winger, thus greenlighting the pursuit of the 26-year-old.

MORE SPURS STORIES

The publication adds that Eze’s release clause at Palace stands at £60m, but it could rise to £68m if some performance-based add-ons are met.

Spurs view Eze as a cheaper alternative to Antoine Semenyo

TBR Football make it clear that Spurs will not have a free run at Eze, who is also on the radar of both Aston Villa and Arsenal.

The report backs up what we have heard from other sources over the last few weeks by revealing that Tottenham are also big fans of Antoine Semenyo.

Tottenham have looked at signing Sunderland star in the past for two clever reasons

Tottenham have looked at signing Sunderland star in the past for two clever reasons - Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly considered a move for their former academy graduate, who was let go by Jose Mourinho, and they might get him on a discount.

Spurs are short of homegrown and club-trained options in their squad, particularly following the departure of Alfie Whiteman and Fraser Forster.

That explains why the Lilywhites have been linked with so many English players over recent weeks, and it has now emerged that they have also considered signing one of their former defenders.

The player in question has thrived in the Championship over a couple of seasons and will be back in the Premier League for the upcoming campaign after helping his side win promotion.

Tottenham could sign Sunderland’s Dennis Cirkin on a discount

We are referring to Dennis Cirkin, who swapped Tottenham Hotspur for the Stadium of Light back in 2021 and has since developed into one of the best young talents in the EFL.

The 23-year-old, who can operate at left-back or centre-back, scored three goals and provided two assists for Sunderland last term as the Black Cats managed to win promotion via the playoffs.

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has now revealed that Spurs have considered re-signing Cirkin in the past, but the journalist does not say if the player is on the wishlist of Thomas Frank’s men this summer.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Gold points out that while Tottenham’s buy-back clause for the defender expired last year, they still have a sell-on clause on the player.

As a result, Spurs would be able to sign their academy graduate on a discounted fee compared to other clubs, or if Cirkin does sign for someone else, the North Londoners would be owed a portion of the fee.

Which other club-trained players can Spurs sign?

While addressing the homegrown issue is fairly straightforward, addressing the shortage of club-trained options is complicated, as Spurs do not have many options to choose from.

One man they could sign is Japhet Tanganga, whose £2m release clause has made him a target for several Premier League clubs.

It has also emerged that Spurs are considering a move for Kyle Walker-Peters, who is available on a free transfer after his contract with Southampton ran out.

The other option would be Marcus Edwards, but that seems unlikely on the back of the winger’s struggles at Burnley since signing for the Clarets in January.

Tottenham want to re-sign 28-year-old for free to ease homegrown nightmare - Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing a move to re-sign their former player, Kyle Walker-Peters, but one factor could give Spurs’ Premier League rivals an advantage over the Lilywhites in the race for the 28-year-old.

Earlier this summer, it was claimed by several sources that Tottenham are favourites to re-sign Walker-Peters, who swapped the North London club for the South Coast back in 2020.

The England international is available on a free transfer after his contract with Southampton ran out, but over the last couple of months, the rumours linking the player with a return to N17 have virtually died out.

However, a reliable source has now claimed that the right-back is indeed Tottenham Hotspur’s wishlist and has explained what Thomas Frank’s men are planning to do.

Tottenham plotting a late approach for Kyle Walker-Peters

It has been well-documented that Tottenham are short of homegrown and club-trained players, especially for European competitions, where rules are stricter than in the Premier League.

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has now revealed that, as a means to address that issue, Spurs are considering bringing Walker-Peters back to the club as a free agent.

Gold explains that full-back is not a priority area for Tottenham, which is why Frank’s men are considering making a move for the Spurs academy graduate ‘later in the window’.

MORE SPURS STORIES

The journalist points out that the 28-year-old’s ability to play at right-back and left-back makes him an attractive option, but adds that a string of other Premier League sides, including Everton and Wolves, are also eyeing the Englishman.

Walker-Peters is more than open to a Spurs return

Gold reveals that Walker-Peters would welcome a return to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer.

However, that does not mean that Spurs are favourites to land the player, with the Lilywhites currently focused on reinforcing other key areas of the pitch at the moment.

The journalist suggests that this might allow Walker-Peters’s other suitors to steal a march on Tottenham and tie up a deal for the full-back.

Description

Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that one of their highly-rated academy graduates has now put pen to paper on a new contract at the club.

There are several senior Tottenham players, whose contracts are now running down and there has been plenty of speculation regarding their futures.

Spurs are reportedly trying to tie Rodrigo Bentancur to a new deal while several reports have claimed that Tottenham will cash in Cristian Romero if he does not sign an extension.

There continues to be speculation over the future of Heung-min Son, who is now in the final year of his deal, and it is not clear if the Lilywhites will offer their captain an extension.

Tottenham youngster Dante Cassanova signs new contract

While the speculation over these senior Spurs stars may persist, the Lilywhites have now been successful in tying down academy youngster Dante Cassanova to a new deal.

The versatile centre-back, who can also play as a defensive midfielder and right-back, is yet to make his senior debut for Tottenham.

However, he has been a regular for the Under-21s over the last two seasons, managing 16 appearances in Premier League 2 for Wayne Burnett’s side last term.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Cassanova was also called up to train with the first team during Cristian Stellini and Ryan Mason’s time in charge following Antonio Conte’s exit. He was also named on the bench by Ange Postecoglou for a Europa League match against Ferencvaros.

Spurs have now confirmed that Cassanova has signed a new deal that ties him to the club until the summer of 2027.

Another Spurs academy graduate is expected to sign a new deal

Cassanova may not be the last Tottenham academy graduate to extend his deal this summer, with reports indicating that Mikey Moore is expected to sign a new contract when he turns 18 in August.

This development comes amidst reports that some European giants are looking to prise Moore away from Spurs this summer.

Description

Tottenham and Leeds are among the clubs circling one of Ligue 1’s most in-demand forwards this summer, with Jose Mourinho also pushing hard to win the race.

Tottenham Hotspur have been monitoring Nice forward Evann Guessand for some time now, with Spurs’ interest dating back to the winter transfer window.

Of course, Tottenham’s interest back then was very much understandable, as the Lilywhites were dealing with an injury crisis, which had both Richarlison and Dominic Solanke sidelined.

However, Spurs did not make a move for the 23-year-old then, instead opting to sign Mathys Tel from Bayern Munich on loan, but Tel’s signing has now been made permanent on 15 June.

Evann Guessand impressed last campaign, with the versatile forward, capable of playing across the frontline, scoring 13 goals and assisting 10 times in all competitions after making 42 appearances.

His standout performances from the 2024/25 season have now made him one of the most sought-after forwards this summer, that is according to TBR Football, who report that a host of Premier League sides are keen on the 23-year-old.

Tottenham are one of such sides, and it is believed that Spurs, alongside Leeds United, West Ham United, Brighton and Hove Albion, Crystal Palace, and Wolverhampton Wanderers have all made contact with the player’s representatives to determine his current situation.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Nice are reported to be open to selling Guessand, as long as their £24m valuation is met, making the striker a bargain buy for sides interested in his services

Jose Mourinho wants Evann Guessand but Spurs interest remains

However, Premier League teams are not the only ones interested in signing Guessand, who is open to a move to England, but is said to prefer Turkey instead.

It is claimed that the Ivory Coast international has held talks with former Tottenham boss and current head coach of Fenerbahce, Jose Mourinho.

The Turkish side are said to be in the market for a forward following Edin Dzeko’s move back to Italy, and Guessand has emerged as one of the options for them.

It is claimed that Mourinho has spoken with the player, and with English Premier League clubs interested, the forward has a decision to make in the coming weeks.
