Description

Thomas Frank has identified the number six that he wants to add to the Tottenham midfield, but the Lilywhites’ attempts to land the experienced Premier League star are expected to be foiled this summer.

Spurs fans are waiting for an announcement regarding the appointment of a new head coach, with Frank expected to replace Ange Postecoglou at the helm over the coming days.

There have already been plenty of rumours about the Dane potentially raiding Brentford for some of their players over the last few days.

There have been suggestions that Frank wants to bring Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa to Spurs while reports over recent days have also suggested that Tottenham could try to swoop for Nathan Collins.

Now, a fresh update has claimed that a Bees midfielder is also on the radar of the Lilywhites.

Tottenham expected to be frustrated in Christian Norgaard pursuit

GiveMeSport have now said that Frank is likely to be installed as Postecoglou’s successor by this weekend and conversations have already taken place between the Dane and the North London club regarding summer transfer targets.

It is revealed that Christian Norgaard’s name has been discussed by Spurs, but it is ‘increasingly unlikely’ that the midfielder will follow his head coach to N17.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Tottenham Hotspur are expected to face frustration in their attempts to sign the 31-year-old as Brentford are not prepared to allow him to leave this summer.

The West London club have made it clear that they will hold firm if offers come in for their captain and they are determined to block his move away from the club.

In fact, it is asserted that the Bees could even attempt to tie down the experienced midfielder to a new deal to ward off the transfer interest.

How keen is Thomas Frank on landing Norgaard?

GiveMeSport say that Frank sees Norgaard as a key part of his success at Brentford, and has a long-standing relationship with him, with the pair having worked together at Brondby and in the Danish youth set-up.

There is a strong belief that the pair complement each other both on and off the pitch and the midfielder has been instrumental in carrying out the 51-year-old’s game plan.

The outlet adds that Tottenham could also face stiff competition from Everton, Fulham and Bournemouth for Norgaard, but there is determination at the Gtech Community Stadium to price the player out of a move this summer.

Description

Tottenham Hotspur are one of many clubs eyeing a move for a Premier League attacking midfielder, who managed 14 goal contributions last season, and the Lilywhites may have one big advantage over the other suitors.

Tottenham Hotspur are very well stocked when it comes to number eights, with James Maddison, Dejan Kulusevski and Lucas Bergvall in their ranks.

However, there is a big question mark about their roles this season, with Thomas Frank set to replace Ange Postecoglou at the helm.

It has now emerged that the Lilywhites are plotting a move for another versatile attacking midfielder, who has thrived under the Danish coach over the last three seasons.

Tottenham want Mikkel Damsgaard but face intense competition

CaughtOffside have now claimed that Spurs are set to turn their attention to Brentford midfielder Mikkel Damsgaard, whose future at the Gtech Community Stadium is in doubt.

Tottenham are closely monitoring his situation and are weighing up an offer, with the Lilywhites believing that the 24-year-old would improve their midfield by adding more technical quality and creativity.

However, they are not the only ones interested, with Aston Villa, Newcastle United, and West Ham United also keeping an eye on Damsgaard, while Napoli and Inter Milan are also considering a move.

MORE SPURS STORIES

It is revealed that Brentford are open to offers in the range of €40m-€50m (£34m-£42.5m) for the player.

Tottenham may have an advantage in Mikkel Damsgaard race

CaughtOffside point out that Frank is on course to take over as the Tottenham head coach, and suggest that his appointment may give the North Londoners an advantage in the transfer race.

The Denmark international is expected to be open to reuniting with his current boss at N17 this summer, having developed impressively under him since arriving at the West London club from Sampdoria in 2022.

Description

Three members of Thomas Frank’s coaching staff at Brentford will join him at Tottenham Hotspur, according to various reports. Here is all you need to know about the three coaches who will accompany the Dane to Hotspur Way.

Frank’s appointment at Tottenham is expected to be confirmed imminently, but he will not arrive on his own, but rather with some trusted associates, who have been a pivotal part of his success at Brentford.

Justin Cochrane chose Tottenham over Brentford

The most significant of the three acquisitions is Justin Cochrane, a former centre-back, who spent most of his playing days in the lower leagues.

Hackney-born Cochrane has had an extensive career in coaching since hanging up his boots in 2013, having been in charge of England’s youth sides at different age group levels.

Interestingly, the 43-year-old also spent a short time as an academy coach at Hotspur Way but his first job in senior football was with AFC Wimbledon, where he served as the assistant manager.

Cochrane spent the 2021-22 season as Man United’s director of development before joining as Frank’s assistant at the Gtech Community Stadium at the end of the season, a position which has held for the last three years.

The Athletic reveals that he was appointed as a part of the national team set-up under Thomas Tuchel on a part-time basis back in February, and he will continue those commitments after arriving at Tottenham.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Getting Cochrane is a major coup for Spurs as The Independent previously revealed that he was Brentford’s top choice to replace Frank as their head coach.

Athletic performance coach Chris Haslam

Haslam currently serves as Brentford’s head of athletic performance and has worked for the club for more than a decade across two different spells.

At the West London club, he was responsible for all aspects of physical performance and sports science.

A sports scientist by training, he has served as Denmark’s fitness coach in the past and had a brief spell as the performance manager with Wigan Athletic.

Joe Newton joins Thomas Frank at Tottenham

Brentford’s first-team analyst, Newton, who has been with the Bees since 2019, will also follow Frank to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The 29-year-old started his career as the match analyst for Wales’ Under-18s and held the same role at Welsh club New Saints FC before making the move to the Gtech Community Stadium six years ago.

Description

Ange Postecoglou was spotted in public for the first time since his Tottenham exit on Wednesday and the Australian appeared to be in good spirits as he enjoyed a major sporting event in London.

The decision to sack the 59-year-old has not been a popular one, either among the Tottenham squad or among the supporters.

Many Spurs fans were furious that Postecoglou did not get a chance to build on his Europa League success after delivering the team’s first piece of silverware for 17 years.

Almost every member of the Spurs squad has sent touching messages to Postecoglou over the last few days, which shows how popular a figure he was in the dressing room.

Ange Postecoglou spotted in Australia’s test match at Lords

It does not seem like the 59-year-old is down in the dumps since Levy’s decision as he was spotted at the Lord’s Cricket ground on Wednesday.

The stadium, which is often called ‘the home of cricket’, plays host to the World Test Championship final between Australia and South Africa.

Postecoglou was cheering on the Aussies on day 1 and seemed to be in good spirits as the camera panned to him in the stands.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Could Postecoglou be set for an early return to management?

It was reported that Postecoglou received interest from other clubs less than 24 hours after his sacking by Tottenham.

A couple of days ago, it was claimed by The Daily Mail that Postecoglou is already on the shortlist of an unnamed Premier League club, who are considering changing its head coach ahead of the new season.

Description

Alasdair Gold has shed light on how important it was for Thomas Frank to bring some of his backroom staff with him to Tottenham Hotspur, especially Justin Cochrane.

We are still waiting for confirmation from Tottenham on their next head coach, and reports indicate that Thomas Frank’s appointment is expected to be announced within the coming hours or days.

Frank was tipped to bring some of his Brentford staff with him to Spurs. However, not all of them were expected to be easy to get, with one of his assistant coaches, Justin Cochrane, valued very highly by Brentford.

Fortunately, it was announced today that Tottenham have won their tug-of-war with Brentford over Cochrane, and the coach will now join Frank for the project in N17.

Why Brentford wanted to keep Justin Cochrane away from Tottenham

Alasdair Gold has now pointed out that since Brentford like to operate with a level of stability, they did not want to lose their entire first-team coaching staff to Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

The journalist explained that the Bees particularly wanted to hang on to Justin Cochrane, who was being groomed by the West London club as Thomas Frank’s successor.

Gold said on the Last Word on Spurs podcast: “Yeah, it’s huge. I mean, what a wild turnaround, though, from Ange who came in as this lone ranger and had to form a coaching staff around him. Thomas Frank has kind of built this really effective backroom staff behind him.

MORE SPURS STORIES

He added: “Justin Cochrane, I think, is a guy a bit like Brentford in this crazy world of being a stable club, actually have a succession plan and they often have someone, you know, Thomas Frank was the succession plan after Dean Smith, went and Justin Cochrane, I think is someone that they’ve been kind of grooming to potentially be the heir for Thomas Frank when he were to go.

“I think the issue there is, that Thomas Frank would probably like to bring him with him because he’s a really important part. Justin Cochrane, who is actually former Spurs. He used to work in the Spurs academy. Funnily enough, I think from what I understand, he is really good friends with Matty Wells as well.

“So there’s a kind of interesting little bit there, because from that side, from the Spurs perspective, while Nick Montgomery, Sergio Raimundo and Mile Jedinak have all kind of departed already, Matthew Wells and Rob Burch, who were there beforehand with the club.”

Spurs were right to push hard for Cochrane

Daniel Levy and the Tottenham hierarchy will want to give Frank the best possible tools to succeed and that includes bringing in all his most-trusted staff, especially Cochrane.

The fact that Brentford tried so hard to keep Cochrane tells you everything you need to know, especially because the Bees clearly see him as management material.

Tottenham win ‘tug of war’ with Brentford to give Thomas Frank exactly what he wanted - Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham Hotspur have won their tug of war with Brentford over convincing one of Thomas Frank’s key backroom coaches to join the N17 project.

It was reported that any of six members of the Brentford coaching staff could follow Frank to Tottenham, but the West London club were fighting against losing one of their key men.

Frank was keen on bringing Brentford’s Head of Coaching Justin Cochrane to Tottenham Hotspur, with the 43-year-old being a crucial part of the Dane’s set-up.

However, the Bees were hoping to hang onto Cochrane, who is a former Spurs academy coach himself, thus complicating matters for the Lilywhites.

Brentford wanted Justin Cochrane to replace Frank

The Independent revealed that Cochrane was the West London club’s preferred choice to become their next head coach when Frank seals a move to Tottenham.

The outlet also explained that Frank was very keen on Cochrane following him to Tottenham, but the Bees board were hopeful of convincing him to stay put.

According to the report, Brentford were also making contingency plans amidst their tug-of-war with Spurs over Cochrane, with Ipswich head coach Keiran McKenna identified as an alternative should the 43-year-old follow Frank to Spurs.

MORE SPURS STORIES

The Athletic now reveal that Brentford will need that contingency plan, with Cochrane deciding to join Tottenham instead of putting his name in the hat for the manager job in West London.

Frank and Cochrane will be joined by Chris Haslam and analyst Joe Newton in North London.

Thomas Frank has already held conversations with Tottenham about transfer targets

While the Dane’s appointment might not be confirmed by Tottenham yet, several big revelations have made it clear that it is already a done deal.

Some reports have claimed that Frank has already held conversations with Spurs about their summer transfer business.

The 51-year-old is thought to have given the green light to Tottenham to sign Mathys Tel permanently, with Frank believing that the Frenchman would be a good fit for his system.

Heung-min Son’s stance on working with Thomas Frank at Tottenham revealed - Spurs Web
Description

A new report has shed light on whether Heung-min Son wants to work with Thomas Frank at Tottenham and how likely he is to seek an exit from the North London club this summer.

It has been reported that some Spurs players are angered by Ange Postecoglou’s sacking and could push for an exit from the club this summer.

One of those could be the club captain, with reports over recent days indicating that a move to Saudi Arabia is on the cards for Son this summer.

In fact, Alasdair Gold has even said that Son is more open to a Tottenham exit this summer than he has ever been, thus raising serious doubts about the 32-year-old’s future at the club.

Thomas Franks set for Tottenham talks with Heung-min Son

TBR Football have now claimed that the South Korean is open to working with Thomas Frank, who is expected to be confirmed as the new Tottenham head coach in a matter of days.

It is explained that one of the Danish coach’s first jobs as Spurs boss would be to sit down with the club captain and discuss whether it would be right for him to stay at the club.

Son is ready to play for Frank and he believes that he still has plenty to offer Tottenham, but at the same time, he is prepared to exit the club this summer.

MORE SPURS STORIES

As things stand, the 32-year-old’s future remains undecided, with his discussions with the incoming Tottenham head coach expected to provide more clarity on his future.

Son is also attracting interest from Europe

Interestingly, TBR Football say that it is not just clubs from the Saudi Pro League who are extremely keen on signing the Tottenham Hotspur superstar.

Son has also allegedly received interest from Germany, Italy and Spain, meaning that he will not be short of options if he decides to part ways with the Lilywhites.

The outlet also spoke to transfer market expert Graeme Bailey, who said about the forward’s situation: “Son could very well have played his last game for Tottenham and well, if it was the Europa League final, it would be fitting.

“I am told he still believes he is more than capable of recapturing his best form – but Spurs are ready to make moves this summer and Son leaving could materialise.”

Tottenham ready to reopen Cristian Romero contract talks after Champions League twist

Description

Daniel Levy is prepared to hand a key Tottenham player a major new deal in a bid to keep him at the club – but with interest from Spain, he may already have one foot out the door.

With the transfer window set to reopen once more on 16 June, Tottenham Hotspur would be eager to make new signings and also keep their best players.

Cristian Romero fits the bill of a top player that Spurs would want to keep at Hotspur Way, as even Liverpool star Alexis Mac Allister was quick to state that Romero has been the best centre-back in the world for years.

However, given his quality, and with just two years left on his current deal, Tottenham find themselves in a dilemma as Romero is open to leaving Spurs, with Atletico Madrid showing keen interest.

Tottenham pushing new Cristian Romero contract despite Atletico Madrid interest

TBR Football are now reporting that Tottenham are looking to reopen contract talks with the Argentine centre-back this summer.

It is claimed that Cristian Romero will listen to Tottenham Hotspur’s contract offer, but it remains to be seen if he will be convinced, as he has his heart set on a move to Atletico Madrid.

Indeed, this is not the first time that Tottenham has gone into contract negotiations with Romero. Earlier this year, it was reported that Spurs offered Romero a contract that was expected to make him the highest-paid Tottenham player, but the defender was hesitant to sign a new deal.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Tottenham are now hoping their lure of Champions League football would be able to persuade the centre-back to stay, but only time would tell.

Daniel Levy wants to keep Cristian Romero at Spurs despite Diego Simeone talks

Of course, with the Argentine failing to put pen to paper, talks have since stalled due to Tottenham’s focus on the Europa League last season.

It has now been stated that Daniel Levy is looking to be ambitious this window, and one way Spurs are looking to show ambition is by keeping Romero at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

However, it would be far from straightforward with Atletico Madrid sniffing around, and with Romero already said to have had talks with Diego Simeone.

It sure is one to keep an eye on, and with Thomas Frank expected to come through the door, the Danish manager would have to help convince the 27-year-old centre-back to stay.

Description

Tottenham Hotspur’s Mikey Moore is receiving loan interest from two English clubs ahead of the 2025/26 season.

Tottenham Hotspur’s summer transfer dealings have been off to a slow start, with Spurs completing just one signing since the window opened.

Kevin Danso was signed permanently from RC Lens this summer, following his loan spell in the January window.

Spurs have also generated extra funds from sales, as Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg was sold for £17 million after Marseille completed their obligation to buy the midfielder following his loan move last summer.

Birmingham City and West Brom eye Tottenham’s Mikey Moore

The Lilywhites have also released four players, saving a total of £15.6 million in wages, and now one of their promising youngsters is attracting interest from the Championship.

According to Football Insider, Mikey Moore, Tottenham’s teenage sensation who has been likened to Neymar by James Maddison, is drawing interest from Birmingham City and West Bromwich Albion.

Birmingham are coming off the back of a League One-winning campaign, while West Brom finished in the top half of the Championship table last season. Both clubs are understood to be keeping tabs on Moore, with a view to taking the teenager out on loan next season.

MORE SPURS STORIES

It is believed that Moore, who made his debut in a 2-0 defeat against Manchester City during the 2023/24 campaign and is Spurs’ youngest ever Premier League player to do so, has the potential to light up the Championship.

Ryan Mason keen on reuniting with Moore at West Brom

Of course, West Bromwich Albion’s interest in the Tottenham youngster comes as no surprise, given that their head coach is a familiar face at Spurs.

Ryan Mason, who spent seven years coaching at Tottenham, will know Mikey Moore well, and it is no surprise he is looking to bring the teenager with him to the Hawthorns this summer.

Tottenham are now considering a move for a 22-year-old winger who recorded an impressive 24 goal contributions last season – but they are not the only club circling.

Tottenham Hotspur need to strengthen their first-team squad following their abysmal Premier League campaign last term, which saw them finish 17th, a single spot above the relegation zone.

Regardless of their horrific domestic form, the Lilywhites did manage to secure their first piece of silverware in 17 years, after they beat Manchester United 1-0 in the Europa League, securing a spot in next season’s Champions League and bolstering their financial pot.

With a place in the UCL confirmed, the need to bolster the squad has surely increased, with reports suggesting that Tottenham could bring as many as five new signings to Hotspur Way this summer.

Tottenham eye RB Salzburg winger Dorgeles Nene

TeamTalk are now reporting that Tottenham are considering a move for RB Salzburg winger Dorgeles Nene this summer.

It is claimed that the club have been monitoring Nene’s progress closely, although no formal move has yet been made by the North London side, who view him as a player of high potential and someone firmly on their radar.

Capable of operating on both flanks, Nene has impressed this season, making 46 appearances across all competitions for Salzburg in 2024/25, scoring 15 goals and registering nine assists along the way.

MORE SPURS STORIES

It is understood that the winger believes he is ready for a step up. Spurs, on their part, are said to be keeping tabs on multiple targets this summer, and Nene is one name on their list.

Spurs among five clubs tracking Dorgeles Nene this summer

Of course, Tottenham are not the only side interested in the young forward, with reports revealing that five other clubs are also monitoring the situation.

Interest in Nene appears to be growing in Germany, with Bayer Leverkusen and Freiburg said to be tracking the 22-year-old after being impressed by his recent performances in Austria. Both clubs are believed to be weighing up a future move.

There is also interest from Italy, as Lazio and Fiorentina have been following his development in recent months. However, neither club is understood to have made a concrete approach yet, with their interest remaining at the scouting stage.

As for Salzburg, they are thought to be open to selling Nene this summer if the right offer comes in, with reports indicating an asking price between €20m (£16.8m) and €25m (£21m).
