Description

Tottenham Hotspur are currently on the lookout for a new head coach after making a difficult decision on Friday.

It was confirmed that Tottenham sacked Ange Postecoglou after two years in charge of the club and sixteen days following the Europa League final win against Manchester United in Bilbao.

Shorly after the announcement, Postecoglou released an emotional statement on his Spurs exit in which he admitted he was proud of his achievements.

Despite ending the club’s trophy drought by winning the Europa League, Postecoglou could not replicate the same success domestically with Tottenham finishing in seventeenth place in the Premier League table, just one place above the relegation zone.

What Mauricio Pochettino has said about a Tottenham return

One manager who will not be replacing Ange Postecoglou as Tottenham head coach is Mauricio Pochettino.

The USMNT manager has frequently been linked with a return to Tottenham in recent years and has once again brushed off the speculation, describing it as “not realistic”.

Pochettino spent five years in charge at Spurs, leading the club to the 2019 Champions League final and consistently securing top-four league finishes.

MORE SPURS STORIES

He has since spent time at Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea, and joined the USMNT last September ahead of the World Cup in 2026.

Pochettino told The Express: “After I left in 2019, every time that I was free, and the place of the position of the manager or head coach in Tottenham Hotspur, my name is appearing on the list.

“If you have seen the rumours, I think there are 100 coaches in the list. I think, don’t be worried about that.

“If something happened, for sure you will see, but we cannot talk about this type of thing, because I think today, it’s not real. It’s not realistic.

“Look at where I am, where we are. And the thing is, the answer is so clear, no? But we’re talking about it because it’s my club, like Newells or Espanyol.”

Some Tottenham fans will be disappointed by the news that Pochettino will not be returning this summer, despite his move to Chelsea, many remember his tenure as being the most enjoyable side to watch in years.

Who will be Tottenham’s next head coach?

Thomas Frank is the frontrunner to be the next Spurs head coach and is said to have already held multiple meetings with the current Brentford boss.

There has also been suggestions that Marco Silva is a contender for Tottenham as a potential successor with the Fulham boss having admirers in North London.

One thing is for sure, Tottenham need to make a decision fast on their next head coach or risk getting left behind.

Description

Tottenham Hotspur may not have a head coach in place at the moment, but have today confirmed a defender has penned a contract extension.

It has been an eventful few days at the club after Tottenham sacked Ange Postecoglou on Friday on his two-year anniversary of taking charge.

With Thomas Frank the frontrunner to become new Spurs head coach in place of the Australian, the club have already taken matters into their own hands to ensure the availability of an experienced, long-serving member of the squad.

Tottenham take up option on Ben Davies’ contract

Tottenham announced on Sunday morning that a 12-month option in Ben Davies’ deal has been exercised, with the Welshman having been set to have become a free agent of the end of June.

Davies is now set to work under his sixth permanent coach having joined Tottenham from Swansea City in the summer of 2014.

The 32 year-old is Tottenham’s longest-serving player and has made 358 appearances during his time at the club.

News of the contract will certainly put a smile on the face of a certain Spurs captain, with Heung-min Son being godfather to Ben Davies’ son and the pair having a very close relationship off the pitch.

Tottenham need defensive cover

With Tottenham set to look to compete in both the Premier League and Champions League next season, along with the domestic cup competitions, it makes perfect sense to keep Davies on for another campaign.

Scott Parker wants to reunite with Tottenham academy graduate for just £2m - Spurs Web
Description

A player who Tottenham Hotspur sold last summer is now the subject of interest from three Premier League clubs, with one former Spurs academy coach particularly keen on signing the defender.

Over the last decade, only a handful of players have graduated through the Tottenham Hotspur academy to become key fixtures in the first team.

Japhet Tanganga was one of those, but injuries prevented him from having a sustained run in the side, with the youngster managing just 50 appearances for Spurs across four years before sealing a permanent move to Millwall last summer.

The 26-year-old has had an exceptional 2024-25 campaign, being voted the Lions’ player of the year, and it has been suggested that he could now return to the Premier League this summer.

Earlier this week, Football Insider claimed that Tanganga has a release clause of just £1.2m in his Millwall contract, with the clause applicable only for top-flight sides.

Three Premier League sides keen on signing former Tottenham defender Japhet Tanganga

GiveMeSport back up the existence of such a clause and they say it is worth just under £2m, which makes him an attractive target for a few sides.

The outlet alleges that all three newly promoted clubs, Leeds United, Burnley and Sunderland, have shown an interest in Tanganga ahead of their return to the Premier League.

MORE SPURS STORIES

All three clubs are looking to bolster their defensive options and they see the former Spurs man as an ‘affordable option’.

The fact that he has top-flight experience and is homegrown adds to the appeal, as does his versatility, with the Englishman able to feature at centre-back or right-back.

Scott Parker is particularly keen on signing Tanganga

GiveMeSport say that out of the three newly promoted clubs, Burnley are particularly keen on securing the services of the Spurs academy graduate.

Scott Parker is a long-term admirer of Tanganga, having worked with him during his time as an academy coach at Hotspur Way.

The Burnley boss sees the defender as a ‘perfect fit’ for his system, given that he has demonstrated an ability to play in a back three as well as a back four.

As things stand, there is no clear frontrunner in the race for Tanganga, but all three clubs are now considering formal approaches.

Description

Tottenham are stepping up their pursuit of Inter Milan defender Yann Bisseck, with reports in Italy now claiming the club is pressing hard to get a deal over the line this summer.

It has since been revealed that Tottenham Hotspur could be looking to raid Inter Milan this summer, as Spurs are said to be eyeing a £68 million swoop for two Milan players.

Among them is Yann Bisseck, who is said to be on the radar of Tottenham, with the Lilywhites eyeing defensive reinforcements this summer.

The Milan centre-back is valued at £34 million, and the N17 club are now said to be pressing hard for the German international this summer.

Tottenham lead race for Inter Milan defender Yann Bisseck

The latest report comes from Calciomercato, who has now revealed that Spurs are not the only ones eyeing a move for the Inter Milan centre-back.

It is claimed that other Premier League sides are keen on securing the services of the 24-year-old, with West Ham United, Aston Villa and Manchester United all said to be monitoring his situation.

However, it is reported that Tottenham are the ones leading the race for Yann Bisseck, with the publication stating that the north London club are the side “pressing hard” for the centre-back’s signature.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Inter Milan situation could favour Spurs in Bisseck transfer

Inter Milan are currently without a manager following Simone Inzaghi’s exit, after the Italian side suffered a 5-0 humiliation in the Champions League final against PSG, and the manager’s exit is reported to be working in Spurs’ favour.

The report from Calciomercato also states that should Inter Milan appoint Cesc Fabregas as manager, that could push Bisseck towards the exit.

It has also been made clear that Inter are already looking for buyers for the defender, and that chief executive Piero Ausilio was in London recently to speak to suitors about the 24-year-old’s sale.

Description

Tottenham’s hopes of landing English midfield starlet James McAtee have just sustained a blow as the latest reports coming out of Germany suggest that the race for the Manchester City man is now heating up.

It has been widely reported by many sources that Spurs will prioritise reinforcing their midfield this summer.

They could turn to a Man City academy graduate to do so, with GiveMeSport reporting last month that Tottenham had set their sights on James McAtee.

The 22-year-old emerged as one of the brightest young talents in the EFL during his two-year loan spell at Sheffield United, before playing 27 times for Man City last season.

With the youngster having just a year left in his contract, Pep Guardiola’s men are expected to listen to offers for him this summer.

Tottenham face competition from Champions League clubs for James McAtee

Sky Sports Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg has now taken to social media to reveal that the young City midfielder has now emerged as a target for three Bundesliga clubs, two of whom are in the Champions League.

He reveals that Stuttgart are now monitoring McAtee’s situation closely, having gathered all the information over a summer deal.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Eintracht Frankfurt have also launched an enquiry for the England Under-21 international, while Bayer Leverkusen are also showing interest.

While none of these clubs have made a concrete move for McAtee, the journalist reveals that the Englishman is keen on the idea of moving to the Bundesliga. Tottenham Hotspur are not mentioned in this particular update.

How much will McAtee cost this summer?

This is not the first time that the Lilywhites have shown an interest in the youngster, with Tottenham failing with a move for James McAtee in the January window.

Last week, Manchester Evening News reporter Simon Bajkowski revealed that Man City are ready to sell McAtee for £25m this summer.

Description

While the speculation over Cristian Romero’s Tottenham Hotspur future continues to run rife, Argentine boss Lionel Scaloni has made a huge decision that shows the centre-back’s importance to his national side.

Romero has proven beyond a doubt that he is a winner, with the centre-back playing a key role in Argentina’s back-to-back Copa America wins and their World Cup victory in 2022.

The 27-year-old’s Europa League win with Tottenham Hotspur, which was the club’s first trophy in 17 years, was the icing on the cake, proving beyond any doubt that the former Juventus man is among the best players in the world in his position.

Atletico Madrid are expected to start negotiations with Spurs regarding a deal for Romero, with the centre-back’s future at N17 now hanging in the balance.

Romero’s leadership skills recognised by Lionel Scaloni

The defender is already the vice-captain of Tottenham and wore the captain’s armband for the Europa League final as Heung-min Son started the game on the bench.

Former Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou repeatedly praised Romero for his leadership skills, and now his international boss has also recognised the same with his latest decision.

It has now been revealed by TyC Sports reporter Gaston Edul that the Tottenham man is now third in line to wear the captain’s armband for the Albiceleste after Lionel Messi and Nicholas Otamendi.

MORE SPURS STORIES

With both Messi and Otamendi now in the twilight of their careers, it may not be long before Romero is made the full-time captain of Argentina.

Cristian Romero’s Tottenham future could depend on key decision

Several outlets have reported over the last two weeks that Tottenham’s decision on Ange Postecoglou’s future could impact Romero’s future at the club.

Journalist Ruben Uria even went a step further and claimed that Romero would do everything in his power to leave if Postecoglou is sacked.

When Tottenham Hotspur could release their new third kit for 2025/26 - Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham Hotspur have already announced the release of their home kit ahead of the 2025/26 season, but what about the third kit? Here’s what we know so far.

We have already seen the release of the Tottenham Hotspur home kit for the 2025/26 season, and as usual, the kit is predominantly white, with a few touches of navy blue on the arms and sleeves.

It was also revealed that Spurs fans will be able to customise their new home shirts with a unique sleeve badge, as the club looks to commemorate their recent Europa League triumph.

The home kit is currently available for sale exclusively at Tottenham’s official shop and online store, before a wider retail release, with the standard shirt priced at £85, while the elite version comes in at £125.

One thing is for sure, a new manager will be leading the team out in the strip after Tottenham Hotspur sacked Ange Postecoglou as head coach on Friday evening.

However, we still await the release of the third kit, but we have now pieced together all that we know so far about Tottenham’s next alternative strip.

When will Tottenham release their 2025/26 third kit?

The exact release date for the new Tottenham third kit remains unconfirmed; however, judging by the timeline of previous campaigns, it is likely to drop either in late August or early September.

MORE SPURS STORIES

The 2024/25 third kit was released on 27 August, while the season before saw the third strip go on sale on 1 September, having been worn for the first time on 29 August.

Spurs did push the release earlier for the 2022/23 edition, with that kit available from 11 August, though the 2021/22 third strip came much later on 16 September.

Based on those dates, we can reasonably expect this season’s to arrive in August, or at the very latest, by mid-September.

What do we know about the third Spurs kit?

According to leaks and early rumours, the third Tottenham kit for the 2025/26 season is expected to be bright and eye-catching, with a return to a yellow base colour.

The shirt will reportedly feature navy and blue detailing, creating a vibrant contrast and marking the return of a yellow-themed Spurs kit, last seen during the 2020/21 campaign. The classic Spurs crest is also rumoured to be making a comeback.

How much will Tottenham third kit cost?

The standard Tottenham home kits are currently priced at £85, while the elite version retails for £125, and the third strip is expected to be priced within this same range.

As always, personalisation – adding names and numbers – will come at an additional cost. As for Infant kits, they are on sale for £50, while the versions for older children retail at £55.

These prices are unlikely to shift significantly, especially as Tottenham kits tend to maintain consistent pricing across each new edition.

Where can you buy the new Tottenham third kit?

The first point of sale for the third kit will be the official Tottenham Hotspur store and website, alongside the Nike website, with an initial exclusivity period. Following that, the kit will be made available across general sportswear retailers and wider retail outlets.

Tottenham fans will love what Arsenal legend Robert Pires said about Europa League victory

Tottenham fans will love what Arsenal legend Robert Pires said about Europa League victory - Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham Hotspur’s Europa League win has not gone down quite so well with one Arsenal legend – and his words sum up the feelings of Gunners around the world.

Tottenham Hotspur ended their poor Premier League season on a high after they won the Europa League, beating Manchester United 1-0 in Spain, Bilbao at the San Mames Stadium.

The celebrations on the white side of north London have been rife since the club’s recent triumph, with David Bentley spotted in Mikel Arteta’s office a week after the night in Bilbao, celebrating with two beers.

Brennan Johnson also recently tattooed the Europa League logo on his right leg, after a photo of him training in Cardiff while on international duty surfaced, with the Wales international leaving a mark on the same leg that saw him toe-poke Spurs to victory against Man United.

Robert Pires reacts to Tottenham’s Europa League win

For many Tottenham fans, the celebrations would only continue, as they have watched their club end its 17-year wait for a major honour and a four-decade wait for a European trophy.

Despite the success, Tottenham sacked Ange Postecoglou on Friday on the second anniversary of his appointment.

However, while fans of the N17 club continue to look back on the night in Bilbao, the red side of north London has little to cheer about, having ended their fifth season in a row without any silverware.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Speaking to Mail Sport, former Arsenal man Robert Pires shared his reaction to Spurs‘ latest Europa League win and, as expected, the French international was not best pleased to see his Arsenal rival enjoying such success.

When asked to give his thoughts after watching Tottenham win the Europa League, the pundit admitted it was personally very hard for him to watch as an Arsenal fan.

“It was very difficult, very difficult right, when you are an Arsenal fan and you see Spurs winning the Europa League, it was a hard moment, of course,” Pires said.

Spurs success leaves Robert Pires and Arsenal fans reeling

Both clubs are now set to compete in next season’s UEFA Champions League, and Spurs could earn more money from UEFA than Arsenal, given their involvement in the UEFA Super Cup – and should they win that final, it would only heap more misery on the red side of north London.

There has been loads of talk about who has had the better season out of the two clubs, and while Arsenal have managed a second-place finish for the third season in the Premier League, Spurs are the ones who have watched their side win a trophy.

Indeed, Arsenal are without a European title, while Spurs have now clinched their fourth ever in history, which would sting more for Robert Pires.

How much Tottenham would have to pay Brentford to poach Thomas Frank - Spurs Web
Description

As Tottenham Hotspur seemingly push for a deal for Thomas Frank, it has emerged that the Lilywhites would have to spend a handsome fee to get him out of Brentford.

According to reports, Daniel Levy has already held multiple meetings with Thomas Frank over the Tottenham vacancy, with the Dane now the clear frontrunner to replace Ange Postecoglou.

In fact, it has been revealed by Fabrizio Romano that Spurs are optimistic about swiftly concluding a deal for Frank following their conversations with the 51-year-old.

It has been reported that Brentford will not stand in Frank’s way if he wants the Tottenham job, but it has now emerged that the Lilywhites will have to pay handsomely for his services.

Frank has a big release clause in his Brentford contract

The Danish coach has done an excellent job since arriving at the Gtech Community Stadium seven years ago, getting them promoted to the top flight and helping establish them as a Premier League force.

However, Frank still has two years left on his contract at Brentford, and The Guardian claim that Spurs will have to meet his release clause to bring him through the door.

It is revealed that the Tottenham managerial target’s clause release stands at £10m and the Bees will only let him go if that is activated, thus leaving the Lilywhites with a big decision.

Why Tottenham admire Thomas Frank so much

According to reports, Tottenham are particularly impressed with Frank’s ability to develop players, which is why they are keen to bring him to N17.

Additionally, it has been suggested that Frank is keen on taking on the Spurs challenge after seven years at Brentford.

Tottenham fans will love James Maddison’s heartfelt message to Ange Postecoglou - Spurs Web
Description

James Maddison has penned a heartfelt message to Ange Postecoglou, reflecting on the club’s Europa League success and admitting that he learned a lot from him both on and off the pitch.

Despite the criticism that Postecoglou was coming under towards the end of the season, it always appeared from the outside that he had the support of the Spurs players.

That has been demonstrated over the last 24 hours by the fact that almost the entire Tottenham squad have penned heartfelt goodbye messages to Postecoglou.

James Maddison has become the latest to react, with the Spurs vice-captain penning a touching message on social media.

James Maddison thanks Ange Postecoglou for the belief he showed in him

The attacking midfielder thanked the 59-year-old for bringing him to Tottenham Hotspur and the belief he showed in his leadership skills from day one.

Maddison credited Postecoglou’s winning mentality as the primary reason why Spurs were able to break their trophy drought and confessed that the departed Tottenham boss made him a better human being.

The former Leicester City man wrote on Instagram: “Gaffer, where to start. Firstly, thank you for bringing me to this wonderful club that I now call my home. Your instant belief in me to not only sign me but make me the club’s vice-captain & part of the leadership group from the get-go is something I’ll always be thankful for.

MORE SPURS STORIES

“Secondly, for the Europa League campaign that started in our stadium on gameweek one and finished perfectly with that special night in Bilbao. You led us to victory and we’re European champions and in this club’s history books because of you and your winning mentality.

“Lastly and most importantly is how you are as a man and a person. Your unwavering self-belief and strong mindset is infectious and a massive reason why you were the man to end this club’s 17-year drought for a trophy. A family man with great morals & I have honestly learnt so much from you. More than you will probably ever know. All the very best. Madders.”

Postecoglou will always be remembered by Tottenham fans

Supporters are split over whether this is the right decision, with some Tottenham fans livid that Postecoglou has been sacked.

However, the one silver lining to his leaving is that he will always be remembered fondly for the Europa League win, which is the parting memory he leaves us with.

The last Tottenham manager to win a trophy, Juande Ramos, is often remembered for picking up just two points in the first eight games of the 2008-09 season rather than the League Cup he delivered in 2008.

That will certainly not be the case for Postecoglou, who will remain a huge fan favourite among the Spurs faithful.
