Description

Mathys Tel has apparently made his feelings clear on a potential move away from Tottenham this summer, with the youngster focused on helping Spurs through a difficult period.

Tottenham Hotspur’s 2025/26 season shows no signs of improvement, with the club sitting just one point above the relegation zone and seven Premier League games remaining.

Tottenham’s struggles this season can be put down to a number of factors. The manager, the club’s hierarchy, recruitment and injuries have all been questioned, but the players must also take responsibility for failing to step up when it has mattered most.

The most recent example came in the damaging 3-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest, a result that only deepened concerns around Tottenham’s survival hopes.

While much of the squad has struggled for consistency and leadership, a few individuals have continued to stand out. Archie Gray and Mathys Tel are among those who can hold their heads high.

Both youngsters have delivered consistent performances, with Tel in particular fighting for his place after struggling for minutes under Thomas Frank earlier in the season.

A disagreement over his role limited his game time, which led to interest from multiple clubs during the winter window, although no move materialised.

Mathys Tel makes feelings clear on Tottenham future

Mathys Tel’s future had been a talking point earlier in the season, with his agent suggesting that a move away could be beneficial in order to secure regular playing time ahead of the World Cup.

However, since Igor Tudor’s arrival, the French Under-21 international has been given more opportunities, which appears to have shifted his immediate focus.

Despite expected loan interest from clubs in France, journalist Ben Jacobs has now provided an encouraging update on the player’s stance.

Jacobs reports that Tel is not actively exploring a move away from Tottenham this summer, despite links with a return to Germany.

Instead, the attacker is said to be fully focused on helping Spurs in their fight for survival before making any decision on his future at the end of the season.

It is also understood that Tel feels a strong sense of responsibility toward the club’s current situation, regardless of whether he ultimately stays in North London beyond the summer.

Should Mathys Tel start on the left for Tottenham next season?

Despite Tel’s current stance, it remains unclear what the situation will look like in the summer transfer window.

Tottenham are expected to explore options for a more established left winger, which could limit Tel’s role even if he remains at the club.

There is also internal competition to consider. Wilson Odobert will return at some point next season from a long-term injury, while Xavi Simons offers another option on the left, particularly with James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski capable of operating centrally.

That said, Spurs supporters will appreciate Tel’s commitment to the club during a difficult period.

Description

Tottenham Hotspur are now reported to be monitoring a 52-year-old manager who had an impressive Champions League campaign this season.

For a club appearing in the new format of the Champions League for the first time, Tottenham Hotspur did put in a decent show.

Spurs finished in the top eight of the league phase and made it to the last 16, although their run was brought to an end in that round by Atletico Madrid, who beat them 7-5 on aggregate.

The Lilywhites, however, were not the only team to impress, with Galatasaray, Bodo Glimt and Sporting among the sides to also put on a good show in this season’s edition of the Champions League.

A fresh report from Tuttomercatoweb now claims that Galatasaray boss Okan Buruk is on the radar of Tottenham Hotspur.

The Turkish tactician showed what he is about in the Champions League this term, securing victories over the likes of Liverpool and Juventus.

His side did not secure an automatic qualification spot in the league phase, but they impressed against the Old Lady in the knockout play-off round before Liverpool overturned a one-goal deficit in the last 16 at Anfield to knock Buruk’s side out.

Spurs are now said to be looking at him, amid claims that Igor Tudor’s time in the Tottenham dugout is far from guaranteed.

Okan Buruk contract situation attracts Spurs and Lazio

Okan Buruk’s current contract with Galatasaray is expected to end on June 30 ahead of the summer window, which means he will be out of a job before the start of the 2026-27 campaign.

That makes him an intriguing prospect, but Tottenham are not the only ones said to be interested in the 52-year-old.

Lazio are also showing interest in Buruk amid growing tension between Maurizio Sarri and president Claudio Lotito.

In his four-year spell with Galatasaray, the Turkish manager won six trophies, including four Turkish Super Lig titles, one Turkish Cup and one Supercup.

With Igor Tudor linked with a Tottenham Hotspur exit, Danny Murphy has offered his take on who the club should look to hire next.

Tottenham Hotspur have been poor when it comes to hiring and sacking managers, since the departure of Mauricio Pochettino almost seven years ago.

Thomas Frank became the latest victim to be fired by the club last month and now it seems Igor Tudor’s interim reign could be cut short.

Adi Hutter is one manager who has been linked with Spurs, but Danny Murphy has an alternative suggestion who would either be brilliant or a total disaster.

Danny Murphy thinks Sam Allardyce would save Tottenham from relegation

Former England and West Ham manager Sam Allardyce used to have a reputation for keeping teams in the Premier League.

This only ended after he was relegated with West Brom five years ago, but the 71-year-old still has an impressive track record.

“Well, right now, the one who screams at me, but he’s not Tottenham, is Sam Allardyce,” Murphy told talkSPORT.

MORE SPURS STORIES

“He’s the man who knows how to get results, but he’s been out of the game for a while, so it’s probably unrealistic.”

Murphy would also be happy to see Tim Sherwood return to his former club, after spending more than a decade away from management.

Spurs could still stick with Igor Tudor

There have been a lot of rumours regarding Tudor’s future, but right now, he is still the Tottenham Hotspur manager.

As bad as the Nottingham Forest defeat was, Spurs were starting to look better under the Croatian, drawing with Liverpool and winning in the Champions League.

However, even if Tudor does leave, the chances of Tottenham hiring Allardyce are little to none. He has no deep-rooted connection to the club and has been out of management for three years, so it simply will not happen.

Tottenham handed fitness boost as Lucas Bergvall makes Sweden declaration - Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham Hotspur have now received a big fitness boost as Lucas Bergvall declares himself ready to start after several cameos off the bench.

The international break is already in full swing, and soon every country involved in World Cup qualifying games will find out their fate.

Several Tottenham players are set to play their qualifying match finals, including Guglielmo Vicario and Lucas Bergvall.

Unfortunately, Ben Davies was sent crashing out alongside Radu Dragusin following their sides’ defeats in the semi-final round, with Bosnia and Herzegovina and Turkiye knocking out Wales and Romania, respectively.

Lucas Bergvall is feeling fit ahead of Tottenham run-in

Sweden is now gearing up for their final clash with Poland after their 3-1 win over Ukraine, while Italy will face Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Bergvall, who only returned from injury this month, will be hoping he can help his side get over the line in that final tie. His minutes have been managed since his return, with the midfielder featuring for just 13 minutes against Ukraine.

Speaking to Fotbollskanalen after the match, Bergvall addressed his early return from injury and his recovery process, admitting it has been a challenge. He said: “It’s been tough. But it was incredibly fun to be back and that we won.

MORE SPURS STORIES

“Yes, it went quickly. But it’s hard to say when you get an injury like that. It varies from person to person how quickly it goes. I was lucky to get back in time.”

Spurs will ned Bergvall over the next seven games

The Tottenham Hotspur midfielder also spoke about his main objective during recovery, which was to return to the national team squad.

He said: “Yes, that is the way it is. And this was the goal. Getting back to the national team squad. I think most people counted me out when I got that injury. I just tried to rehabilitate as quickly as possible and get back.”

Looking ahead to Sweden’s decisive clash, Bergvall made it clear he feels ready to start if called upon. He said, “It’s up to the coach but I’m ready.”

He also reacted to praise from Graham Potter, who described him as “super important” to the national team, admitting it was pleasing to hear.

Bergvall added: “Did he say that about me? First of all, it’s incredibly fun to hear him say that. I’m just trying to come here and help the team as best I can now after the injury. Contribute what I can so that we can get to the World Cup.”

Tottenham’s Dominic Solanke sets strange record after maiden England start

Tottenham’s Dominic Solanke sets strange record after maiden England start - Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham forward Dominic Solanke made his first England start against Uruguay and, in doing so, set a unique record for the Three Lions.

Tottenham Hotspur supporters will not mind the timing of the ongoing international break, given the club’s struggles this season.

Few would have expected things to unravel in this manner, considering the quality within the squad and the added motivation of a World Cup year. However, performances have fallen well below expectations, with many players failing to deliver consistently.

That said, 13 Tottenham players still received national team call-ups, a surprising number for a side currently battling relegation.

While some are involved in crucial World Cup qualifiers, others are taking part in friendlies as nations prepare for the tournament set to take place in the United States, Mexico and Canada.

One of those players is Dominic Solanke, who was included in Thomas Tuchel’s 35-man England squad for friendlies against Uruguay and Japan after the forward scored six goals in nine starts, despite missing a large part of the season through injury.

Dominic Solanke sets record after first England start against Uruguay

Dominic Solanke was handed his first England start against Uruguay, lining up alongside Tottenham teammate Djed Spence, who also impressed on the night.

MORE SPURS STORIES

However, it was Solanke who left with a place in the record books.

According to Opta, the striker’s first England start came eight years and 133 days after his debut appearance as a substitute against Brazil in November 2017, making it the longest gap between a player’s first appearance and first start for the Three Lions.

From the 56 minutes he featured, Solanke did not see much of the ball, registering just four touches in the opposition box.

Despite that, he still managed to get two shots on target, although neither resulted in a goal as England were held to a late 1-1 draw.

Will Dominic Solanke make England’s World Cup squad?

Even with FIFA allowing squads of up to 26 players for the World Cup, competition for places in the England squad remains extremely high.

Dominic Solanke is far from guaranteed a place, and even if he does make the squad, it would be difficult to see him getting minutes ahead of Harry Kane or Jarrod Bowen.

Danny Welbeck has also been in strong form, which further complicates Solanke’s chances of breaking into the final selection.

That said, the Tottenham striker still has an opportunity to make a late push.

If Solanke can deliver strong performances in Spurs’ final seven games of the season, he could yet give Thomas Tuchel something to think about, while also playing a key role in Tottenham’s fight to avoid relegation.

Description

Tottenham’s Luka Vuskovic continues to impress this season and has just reached a major milestone while away with Croatia, and we’ve now decided to look at the numbers behind his standout display.

Luka Vuskovic once again hit a major milestone in what has been a short career thus far with his national team.

The Croat was among those to receive a call-up this international break, and he did not hesitate to leave his mark in Croatia’s clash with Colombia.

Vuskovic was on target for his country, grabbing the equaliser in what was a 2-1 win over Colombia – his first for his country after just three appearances.

The Tottenham centre-back’s quality in front of goal is not entirely surprising, especially after managing seven goals with Westerlo last campaign.

This season, he has already grabbed five for Hamburg, having also netted for Spurs in pre-season.

However, Vuskovic’s display was not just outstanding because of the goal scored, but also due to his overall performance, which caught the eye.

On Friday, the 19-year-old played 90 minutes for Croatia, recording an impressive 96% pass accuracy while remaining solid defensively, not even dribbled past once.

Here is a breakdown of his underlying numbers:

Tottenham will no doubt be keeping an eye on the centre-back, who has not only impressed with Hamburg but is also showing his quality on the international stage.

Given such strong performances throughout the campaign, it is no surprise to see Vuskovic attracting interest from several top sides.

'Progress matters' - Three Tottenham fan groups say no to Roberto De Zerbi due to 'culture risk' - Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham Hotspur supporter groups have now issued a warning to the club against the appointment of Roberto De Zerbi as manager.

It is no news that Tottenham Hotspur are in search of a new manager, with reports claiming that Igor Tudor‘s time in the Spurs dugout might be coming to an end after a winless domestic run.

One of the names closely linked with the Tottenham job is Roberto De Zerbi, who is out of work after departing Marseille earlier this year.

The former Brighton manager is not keen on a move to Spurs at the moment, according to reports, instead preferring to consider his options in the summer.

Tottenham fans oppose Roberto De Zerbi move amid Mason Greenwood controversy

Tottenham supporter groups Women of the Lane, Proud Lilywhites, and Spurs Reach have released statements calling on the club not to hire De Zerbi should they decide to sack interim manager Tudor.

This stems from De Zerbi’s staunch defence of Mason Greenwood, who moved to Marseille in 2024, two years after he was arrested on suspicion of rape, assault, and coercive and controlling behaviour.

The Crown Prosecution Service dropped the charges the following year, citing the withdrawal of key witnesses and new material that came to light, while Greenwood has denied all charges.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Speaking previously about Greenwood after his move, De Zerbi expressed his personal view on the player and his situation, stating (DailyMail): “He’s a good guy, he paid a heavy price for what happened, a very heavy price. He has found the right environment for him.

“We have lent him a hand and given him affection. He’s a little bit introverted, but I know him and his family. It saddens me what happened in his life, because I know a totally different person than the one who was described in England.”

The supporter groups have since issued strong statements outlining their concerns, arguing that such comments risk downplaying serious issues.

Women of the Lane said the situation ‘raises serious questions about judgement and leadership’, adding that managerial appointments reflect club values.

The statement read: “Clubs signal their values through the decisions they make. Who they appoint matters. The manager sets the tone, every day, for what is expected, what is tolerated, and how people are treated.

“At a time when Spurs need to rebuild, that culture matters as much as anything on the pitch.

“For many in our community, this is difficult to reconcile with the club’s stated commitments to respect, safety and inclusion. This is not an appointment Tottenham Hotspur should make. It introduces unnecessary cultural risk without a clear, proven track record to justify it.”

Proud Lilywhites added that the club has a responsibility to shape how people feel and what behaviour is acceptable, stressing the importance of leadership in maintaining an inclusive environment.

Their statement read: “When someone in that position publicly defends a player like Mason Greenwood, and frames it in a way that downplays the seriousness of what happened, it matters, not just in isolation but in what it signals.

“We are proud of the progress that has been made in making football more inclusive and welcoming. That progress matters, and it cannot be compromised or treated as secondary. We are not asking for perfection. We are asking for accountability, transparency, and leadership that reflects the values this club claims to stand for.

“All together, always. That has to mean something. No to De Zerbi.”

Spurs Reach also highlighted concerns around the messaging of such remarks, stating: “Comments previously attributed to Roberto De Zerbi, including public remarks defending and contextualising Mason Greenwood following serious allegations, have been widely criticised for appearing to minimise the gravity of violence against women.

“Regardless of intent, framing of this nature risks normalising harmful attitudes, diminishing the experiences of survivors, and sending a deeply concerning message about what is tolerated within the game.”

How USA feel about Mauricio Pochettino taking on dual manager duties with Tottenham and World Cup

Description

Mauricio Pochettino has emerged as a potential Tottenham option, but fresh details highlight why a short-term return may not be possible.

The focus at Tottenham Hotspur during the international break will be to reset and regroup ahead of what will be a difficult run-in.

Spurs currently find themselves in a crisis, as they run the risk of losing their Premier League status, with just a single point separating them from the relegation places.

Morale is at an all-time low within the club following the latest 3-0 defeat at the hands of relegation rivals Nottingham Forest, who quieted a rocking Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after fans looked to spur their side on before and during the match.

Tottenham blocked from Mauricio Pochettino job share amid USA role

It is clear that the Igor Tudor experiment is not working, and as such, Spurs are understood to be considering a third managerial appointment this season.

Roberto De Zerbi is one name linked with the Tottenham job, alongside Adi Hutter, Sean Dyche and Chris Hughton.

De Zerbi, however, is not keen on a move now, with the former Brighton man instead wanting to wait and consider his options in the summer.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Mauricio Pochettino is also an option for Tottenham, but bringing the Argentine in at this point is extremely difficult given his USA commitment.

While there have been examples of managers juggling national team and club duties, with Michael O’Neill having been in charge of Northern Ireland and Blackburn Rovers, GIVEMESPORT has now revealed why Pochettino cannot be used in a similar capacity.

According to the publication, this is because team USA appointed a “world-class” coach and, as a result, they reluctant to allow any job-share arrangement, particularly during an international break when they face Belgium and Portugal.

Spurs may revisit Mauricio Pochettino option in summer

Of course, Spurs could still turn to the Argentine in the summer when his deal with the USA is set to come to an end.

It is even claimed that Pochettino, alongside De Zerbi, is among the favourites for the Tottenham managerial job this summer.

There is no denying that the former Spurs man will be welcomed back to North London next season should he be appointed.

However, Tottenham must secure their Premier League status first if they are to attract such a high-calibre manager.

Roberto De Zerbi has Tottenham doubts: Italian may not be the relegation answer for Spurs - Spurs Web
Description

Roberto De Zerbi’s stance on Tottenham has emerged as the club scrambles for answers amid their ongoing relegation battle.

Tottenham Hotspur are preparing to part ways with Igor Tudor after what has been a poor Premier League run under the Croat.

A winless five-game run has done little to ease Spurs’ league struggles, with the Lilywhites now just a single point above the relegation places.

Tottenham are now said to be looking for replacements for Igor Tudor before the Premier League run-in begins.

Tottenham target Roberto De Zerbi has doubts over Spurs move

Roberto De Zerbi has been heavily linked with Spurs in recent weeks. The Italian is currently out of work following a mutual parting from Marseille earlier this year.

But Tottenham are believed to be working to convince De Zerbi to join now, with bonus clauses being discussed.

Football Insider has now revealed that Roberto De Zerbi has doubts about becoming the next Tottenham Hotspur manager.

MORE SPURS STORIES

It is explained that the former Brighton boss is reluctant to take over in the middle of a relegation battle and would prefer to wait until the summer before accepting his next role.

Providing more details on his situation, Pete O’Rourke wrote: “De Zerbi is somebody that obviously Spurs are very much interested in, whether it is now or at the end of the season.

“A lot will depend on Tottenham securing Premier League survival.

“It does seem Tottenham would like De Zerbi to come in now, but he is in no rush right now.

“He would prefer to wait and weigh up his options and probably come into a new job at the end of the season, where he can have a full pre-season with his new club and everything else.

“Obviously he has just left Marseille in February, so he is in no immediate rush to return to the dugout.

“He is one of a number of candidates that Spurs have looked at, but with the situation they find themselves in, it is difficult to attract their top targets.”

Spurs may turn to alternatives as Roberto De Zerbi hesitates

Spurs will now have to turn to an interim manager if De Zerbi is not keen on making a move at this moment.

Tottenham have been linked with several options, including Adi Hutter, Chris Hughton and even Sean Dyche.

The Lilywhites, however, might have been handed another blow, as Dyche recently poured cold water on reports linking him with the Tottenham job.

Description

Tottenham Hotspur fans have reacted to Sean Dyche rumours amid mounting managerial speculation as relegation fears grow.

Tottenham Hotspur are clearly searching for solutions to their managerial problem, given the reports circulating in recent days.

Spurs have been linked with a host of different managers, from Roberto De Zerbi, Marco Silva and Chris Hughton to Adi Hutter, following Igor Tudor’s struggles in the dugout.

Sean Dyche is also under consideration as Tottenham continue their search for a manager who can bail them out of their dire situation.

Tottenham fans react to Sean Dyche rumours

The latest Dyche links have sparked a reaction from the Tottenham fanbase, who themselves are in a desperate position as they watch their side battle to stay in the English top flight.

Many supporters are open to the idea of Dyche coming in to keep them afloat, though they are not looking for a long-term role for the former Burnley manager.

Reacting to the news, one fan wrote: “If he is willing he is the best available option idc.” Another stated: “Dyche over De Zerbi then Poch in the summer, De Zerbi is a ticking time bomb and this squad will not play along with him.”

MORE SPURS STORIES

Another added: “He should be the only choice for this particular scenario. Long as it is not beyond the summer. If Dyche cannot keep us up, nobody else can anyway.”

One supporter was open to Dyche despite preferring other options: “Will take it I guess given the desperate situation we are in. But I am not sure Dyche ball will work with these players. Still prefer a Spurs guy – Mason and others.”

Another Tottenham fan did not hesitate: “BRING!! He is the best available manager that can keep us up. He will implement the basic things which we need and play players in their right position. He is also experienced in the league. Should be the #1 option for us right now.”

Some fans were left in disbelief but conceded desperate times call for desperate measures: “Never thought I would see the day we go for Dyche but desperate times call for desperate measures. I would have a lot more faith in Dyche than Adolf Hutter.”

A final Tottenham fan added: “Yes it is not what we want but to stay up with someone who knows the PL and Spurs is what we need, especially brings in Defoe or Mason as assistant to know the club.”

Spurs face critical decision over Sean Dyche appointment

We also believe that Sean Dyche is the best available option for Tottenham at this stage of the season, given that he is a relegation specialist.

Of course, the next managerial appointment is crucial for Spurs, and should they get it wrong, their Premier League fate will be all but sealed.

However, convincing Dyche to come in for just seven games could prove a significant challenge, as it is claimed he would prefer a permanent role.
