Description

Opta’s Supercomputer has shared its updated predictions on where Tottenham Hotspur will finish this season in the Premier League after they earned a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Liverpool.

Spurs fans have had little to cheer all season, and the situation has got extremely depressing over recent months, with the club still winless in the Premier League in 2026.

It appeared that the Lilywhites were sleepwalking towards relegation, especially after Igor Tudor lost all of his first four games after replacing Thomas Frank.

However, a light has finally appeared at the end of the tunnel for Spurs, who showed against the Reds that they had not thrown in their towel just yet.

Supercomputer backs Tottenahm to preserve their Premier League status

The 1-1 draw at Anfield means that Spurs sit a point clear of their two relegation rivals, Nottingham Forest and West Ham.

Opta’s Supercomputer now predicts that Igor Tudor’s men will finish the season with an expected 40.43 points.

The data analysis website believes that that will be enough for Spurs to secure a 16th-place finish, predicting that Tottenham will finish with approximately two points more than Forest and three more than the Hammers.

MORE SPURS STORIES

How many points do Spurs need to avoid relegation?

Opta suggests that 38 points may be enough for clubs to secure their Premier League status this season.

That means that Tottenham need two wins and two draws from their remaining eight league matches. Considering that they still don’t have a win in 2026, that could be a tall ask, though.

Description

Kevin Danso’s latest display for Tottenham Hotspur has once again highlighted his growing influence in the heart of the defence.

Tottenham Hotspur’s 1-1 draw with Liverpool will no doubt have infused some belief within this group of players that they can avoid relegation.

It was a spirited display from all those who made it onto the pitch, with Spurs not only creating good chances but also restricting Liverpool to just one goal, which came from a set play.

Igor Tudor is hoping that Richarlison’s strike serves as a spark for Tottenham, who have suffered in recent weeks after losing four games on the bounce.

Kevin Danso’s impressive stats for Tottenham vs Liverpool

Spurs are currently managing an injury crisis and need all of their top players performing at their best. Against Liverpool, a whopping 13 players were absent, including centre-backs Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero.

However, it proved no problem for Spurs as Kevin Danso produced a performance that even Romero would be proud of.

The centre-back was paired with Radu Dragusin, who looked shaky at times, but still ensured Spurs came away with a point.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Not only did he defend well, but he also got on the ball and looked to progress play from deep, similar to how club captain Romero does.

His underlying numbers back this up. During the game against Arne Slot’s men, the Austrian produced the following statistics.

Kevin Danso pushing for starting role amid Romero and van de Ven struggles

Van de Ven and Romero have long been Tottenham’s first-choice pairing in recent seasons, but with Danso putting in these sorts of shifts, that might not be the case for much longer.

Romero, as we know, is capable of making silly, costly mistakes, while van de Ven has followed suit of late, with neither looking as assured as they ought to be.

Tottenham Hotspur remain firmly in the Premier League relegation battle with West Ham and Nottingham Forest with just eight games remaining. We have compared Spurs’ next five league fixtures with their relegation rivals.

We are now in the final stretch of the 25/26 Premier League season, and Tottenham Hotspur still have it all to play for.

Spurs are in a relegation scrap with Leeds United, Nottingham Forest and West Ham United, and it remains anyone’s guess as to who will go down this season.

Tottenham managed to reach the 30-point mark with their latest draw with Liverpool at Anfield, but 30 points will do little in their fight for survival this term.

Nottingham Forest and West Ham United, in 17th and 18th, are on 29 points after 30 games, while Leeds United, in 15th, are on 32 points.

With eight games left, each side will be doing its utmost to beat the drop and avoid playing in the Championship next season.

Following their Premier League debuts at Anfield, Tottenham youngsters Callum Olusesi and James Rowswell have now opened up on what it means for them.

The youngsters at Tottenham Hotspur are certainly stepping up to the plate as Spurs fight to avoid the drop this season.

Archie Gray has been praised for his displays on the pitch and his leadership traits in the dressing room by team-mate Dominic Solanke, as the 20-year-old continues to spur his team on as they fight for Premier League survival.

Pape Matar Sarr also brought some much-needed freshness in the middle of the park alongside Gray in the game against Liverpool, leaving interim boss Igor Tudor to praise the two youngsters.

Tottenham youngster Callum Olusesi opens up on Premier League debut

There have been calls for Tottenham to give youth a chance, given the injury crisis the club is dealing with, and Sunday marked a huge milestone for two academy graduates.

Callum Olusesi and James Rowswell were handed their Premier League debuts in that encounter, in what was a big moment for the youngsters.

Olusesi managed 14 minutes of action after coming on for Djed Spence in the 76th minute, adding positive energy into midfield during the closing stages.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Speaking to Tottenham Hotspur Official Website about fulfilling a long-held ambition, Olusesi explained what it meant to finally step onto the pitch.

“It’s a dream come true, there’s been a couple of games where I’ve been on the bench, loads actually, but to get on the pitch – it’s a great feeling,” Olusesi said.

When asked about the feeling of being on the pitch when Richarlison scored, Olusesi reflected on the importance of the goal and the situation Spurs currently find themselves in.

“Yeah, it’s good we need all the points we can get right now.

“Obviously, we’re not in the best situation, but if we all work hard and stick together, we’ll be able to get out of it.”

James Rowswell hopes to see more Spurs academy graduates break into the senior team

Olusesi was not the only Tottenham academy star to make his Premier League debut on Sunday, with James Rowswell also coming on in the final stages for Richarlison.

The 19-year-old earned legacy number 904 following his brief cameo. Speaking after the match about the emotions surrounding the occasion, Rowswell admitted he was struggling to take it all in.

“Thank you very much. I don’t even know what to say at the minute. I am so happy right now. It is all I have been working for, everything building up to this moment. I am so happy for it to come around.”

Reflecting on what he has learned about himself during a difficult period for the club, the youngster explained he is focused on helping the team in any way possible.

“I just try to do my part and help the team as much as I possibly can. Everyone just plays their part and what a massive point it was today at Anfield. So we just have to keep building on this.”

Rowswell also spoke about the moment Richarlison’s goal went in and the impact it had on the team.

“Massive moment for us. Yeah, it brought home the points.”

He then addressed the significance of receiving his legacy number and what it meant for him and his family.

“Definitely a proud moment for me and my family. I am just very grateful for this opportunity to come around.”

Olusesi also spoke about Rowswell’s debut, praising the work his fellow academy graduate has put in behind the scenes.

“It’s great. I’m happy for James as well. Obviously, I’ve seen the hard work he’s put in training every day. Now that his time has come, I’m happy for him. It shows the academy that there is a chance if you keep working hard and believe in it.”

Finally, when asked about young players progressing through the Tottenham academy pathway, Rowswell explained his own journey through the system.

“I came in at 8 or 9 and have done a journey up through the academy. Hopefully, we get many more people doing the same thing and, like Cal said, it is great for the academy.”

Stick or twist on Igor Tudor: Former Tottenham player tells the club exactly what to do - Spurs Web
Description

Ramon Vega has given his opinion on whether Tottenham Hotspur should persist with Igor Tudor following the side’s 1-1 draw against Liverpool.

Ahead of Sunday’s game, there was almost no evidence to suggest that Tudor was capable of getting a response out of the Spurs squad.

While the Croat has been dealing with an extremely challenging injury situation, Tottenham had failed to deliver a competent display in any of his first four games in charge, with the 5-2 defeat against Atletico Madrid arguably being the worst of the lot.

Ahead of Spurs’ trip to Anfield, it was widely reported that Tottenham had begun the process of identifying Tudor’s replacement, but the 47-year-old may have now got a lifeline after seeing his side secure a point against the Reds.

Ramon Vega urges Tottenham to stick with Igor Tudor

Vega believes that the point Tottenham earned at Anfield will do the players’ confidence a world of good as they battle for their Premier League survival.

He also suggested that it is no longer about coaching or tactics, but rather about mentality, praising the fight Tottenham showed in Merseyside and urging the club to stick with Tudor.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Vega first wrote on X: From my own experience, which was also in the relegation battle with Spurs. This point is a major win for the team and confidence! Gives the dressing room the belief that they can do it without some big players involved. It’s HUGE, believe me. I have been in this shit dressing room situation with very low confidence. I hope they can take this to the next games. COYS.

When a supporter then asked if the club should stick or twist with Tudor, Vega responded: “Stick mate! From now on, it’s all in the hands of the players! Not much coaching is needed but mentality today they showed some!”

Tudor is hopeful Spurs can build on Liverpool draw

Tottenham had lost six games on the bounce ahead of their trip to Liverpool, and the point was thus crucial for the team’s morale and confidence ahead of their six-pointer against Nottingham Forest.

Tudor is hopeful that the draw at Anfield will spark a turnaround for Spurs, who are still without a whole host of key players.

There is now finally light at the end of the tunnel for the Lilywhites, and the squad will now believe that they can get out of the perilous situation they currently find themselves in.

Tottenham receive rare 50-word praise from Roy Keane for ‘fighting spirit’ vs Liverpool - Spurs Web
Description

Roy Keane was particularly impressed by one thing he saw from the Tottenham Hotspur players against Liverpool in their 1-1 draw.

Igor Tudor was a man under immense pressure ahead of Tottenham’s trip to Anfield, and many Spurs fans were already resigned to the fact that the Croat would be sacked after a defeat in Merseyside.

Yet, a severely depleted Tottenham Hotspur side showed plenty of fight against Arne Slot’s men, and in the end, emerged with a deserved point, owing to Richarlison’s late equaliser.

Tudor is hopeful that the performance against Liverpool can be a turning point for the Spurs squad, which had looked completely devoid of confidence over recent weeks.

Roy Keane praises Tottenham players for digging deep against Liverpool

It was not the most entertaining or high-quality encounter at Anfield, but Keane liked the fact that Tottenham delivered an ugly performance and made it hard for the home side.

He praised the Spurs players for digging deep and showing fight amidst widespread criticism and ridicule.

The Man United legend told Sky Sports (15/03/26): “They dug deep. People have been poking fun at Spurs the last few months. It’s been a difficult season, no doubt. Today they showed fighting spirit. It was ugly sometimes, but they went direct, they showed fight and quality and we have to give them credit today.”

Jamie Redknapp admits he did not give Spurs a hope against Liverpool

Fellow Sky pundit, Jamie Redknapp, confessed that he expected the Lilywhites to roll over at Anfield, given their run of form coming into the game.

He suggested that the point is crucial for Spurs, adding that Tudor would have been removed had they lost yet again.

Redknapp said after Tottenham’s 1-1 draw: “It’s a great point. They were on a run of five defeats. Coming here today I didn’t give them a hope. I looked at the team and thought ‘how can this team get a result?’. If they lost today they would have had to get rid of Igor Tudor.”

Mistaken identity at Tottenham: Igor Tudor hilariously picks the wrong bald man - Spurs Web
Description

A lot of Tottenham Hotspur fans on social media have picked up on Igor Tudor’s hilarious mistake ahead of kick-off against Liverpool.

Not many Spurs fans would have given their side a chance of getting anything from Anfield, given the number of key players that the club were without for the big game.

However, the Tottenham players showed that they have not thrown in the towel just yet, as they fought back in the second half, with a late Richarlison equaliser ensuring they took a point.

Tudor is hopeful that the performance will spark Spurs’ survival push, with the result potentially buying the Croat a little more time.

Igor Tudor mistakes bald Tottenham official for Arne Slot

Viewers noticed that just ahead of kick-off, Tudor went up to a bald man standing with his arms crossed on the side of the pitch in a dark coat.

The Spurs interim boss tapped the man on the shoulder to say hello, thinking it was his opposite number.

However, when he turned around, Tudor noticed that he was not Slot, but rather Tottenham’s player liaison officer, Allan Dixon.

MORE SPURS STORIES

The Croat immediately smiled and managed the situation, but many eagle-eyed fans on social media caught his mistake.

Watch the incident below:

Spurs players disproved the myth that they are not playing for Tudor

Ahead of the clash against Liverpool, it was widely reported that Tudor had lost the Tottenham squad, with the players having ‘no faith’ in the Croat to get them out of trouble.

However, despite missing so many of their big-name stars, the Spurs players showed plenty of fight and desire at Anfield.

One would hope that this performance is the start of a turnaround for Tudor at Tottenham, who still need at least two or three more wins in their remaining eight games to be confident of avoiding relegation.

‘I see a future captain’ – Tottenham fans want Kevin Danso to play every remaining match - Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham Hotspur supporters have reacted to Kevin Danso’s steady performance in the Premier League draw with Liverpool.

In terms of lifting the mood around a place, Tottenham Hotspur’s latest 1-1 draw with Liverpool is as big as it gets.

That singular point brought a halt to Tottenham’s run of four defeats on the bounce in all competitions and also ensured Spurs maintained their one-point lead over their relegation rivals.

It was a result earned in difficult circumstances, with Igor Tudor’s side severely depleted because of injuries, with 13 senior first-team players unavailable for selection in the Liverpool match.

Tottenham fans praise Kevin Danso after Liverpool performance

Several Tottenham players stood out, with Tudor even praising both Archie Gray and Pape Matar Sarr.

However, the Spurs faithful have now singled out Kevin Danso for praise following yet another reliable performance.

One supporter, when asked about their thoughts on the centre-back’s display, praised Danso for stepping up defensively alongside Radu Dragusin.

MORE SPURS STORIES

“Fantastic as always, stepped up, especially playing with Dragusin. Was all over the pitch and showed how his athleticism can help this team.”

Another fan simply highlighted how impressed they were with the defender’s performance.

“He had a great performance.”

One supporter even suggested Danso could one day captain the club because of his composure and consistency.

“Always strong and always level-headed. I see a future captain.”

Another fan praised his aerial presence while also offering a comparison with his defensive partner.

“He did well. Challenged aerially and looked miles better than Dragusin, who gives me palpitations. I wish we stop playing out from the back with those two, though.”

The praise continued with another supporter pointing to his consistency throughout the campaign.

“Immense! I have been saying Danso is our most consistent and reliable CB this season. He has more quality than people are giving him credit for. Has to play the remaining games.”

One more fan highlighted the overall defensive performance while singling out Danso’s display.

“Danso was superb today. Many good performances, it is what we needed, even more than getting a scrappy point. We have belief, some fight and I feel much better that we are up for the scrap. Well done lads.”

A final supporter concluded by calling for the defender to feature more regularly.

“Outstanding. Solid. Needs to be playing more.”

Spurs analysis: Kevin Danso numbers vs Liverpool

Danso was only signed last year in the winter transfer window, and each time he has pulled on a Tottenham shirt, he has put in a solid 7/10 performance.

The Austrian rarely has a bad game for Spurs, especially in comparison to his fellow centre-backs Cristian Romero, Radu Dragusin and Micky van de Ven.

The underlying numbers also show just how good Danso was against Liverpool, with the centre-back contributing heavily in defensive phases while also helping Spurs progress the ball.

Three winners and three losers from Tottenham’s 1-1 draw with Liverpool in the Premier League

Three winners and three losers from Tottenham's 1-1 draw with Liverpool in the Premier League - Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham Hotspur have finally picked up a point in the Premier League and it even looked like they could find a winner against Liverpool right at the end.

Let’s take a look at the three winners and losers from the result which keeps Spurs a point above Nottingham Forest and West Ham in the Premier League table.

Richarlison’s goal handed Tottenham a draw

Richarlison was one of Tottenham’s most proactive players at Anfield and he was not far off scoring with a couple of headed efforts.

The Brazilian eventually got his goal in the closing stages of the game. It was not an overly difficult one to score, but he had to get himself in the right place at the right time.

Unfortunately, Richarlison was substituted before the final corner kick in stoppage time. Had the striker stayed on the pitch, perhaps he would have had one more chance to beat Alisson Becker with a header.

Kevin Danso was rock solid for Spurs

Tottenham managed to only concede one goal against Liverpool, which is a rarity these days and Kevin Danso was a key reason.

The defender fought hard, was good in the air and stuck to his task excellently to keep the Reds at bay for much of the game.

MORE SPURS STORIES

If Igor Tudor continues with a back four, there surely has to be a conversation about dropping one of the two main centre-halves in favour of Danso.

Djed Spence was much improved for Tottenham

It has been hard to watch Djed Spence in recent weeks, but the right-back was so much better against Liverpool.

Spence won every single one of his ground duels and made 11 defensive contributions in total, which was only two fewer than Danso.

With the World Cup now just a few months away, the 25-year-old has to bring that level of performance to prove he is good enough for Thomas Tuchel’s squad.

Onto the losers…

Guglielmo Vicario should have saved Dominik Szoboszlai’s free kick

Guglielmo Vicario was back in the starting lineup for obvious reasons, yet he pretty much fell at the first hurdle.

Archie Gray may have given away the free kick Liverpool went on to score, but the Italian should have kept it out of his net without much difficulty.

Vicario did make a very good diving save later in the first half, but he cannot continue to make the most basic errors. Brandon Austin, it may be time to dust off those gloves!

Micky van de Ven’s Tottenham spot could be up for grabs

Danso played really well against Liverpool, as mentioned above, but the same cannot be said of Micky van de Ven in recent weeks.

The pacey defender has not looked like himself since Tudor arrived at the club and his discipline in particular has gone down the drain.

It is hard to imagine either van de Ven or Cristian Romero being dropped, but this might have to happen for the greater good of Tottenham’s Premier League survival hopes.

Radu Dragusin is still no good with the ball at his feet

While Danso has made his case to be starting more regularly, the same cannot be said of Radu Dragusin after his chatoic performance at Anfield.

The 24-year-old was playing loose passes all over the place and he was lucky not to end up costing his team a point.

Dragusin’s defending was also questionable, as he won just 40 per cent of his ground duels, which gives no reason for Tudor to have confidence in his abilities.

Description

Tottenham Hotspur supporters have shared their views on Igor Tudor’s future after Spurs battled to a 1-1 draw against Liverpool at Anfield.

Tottenham Hotspur have been desperate for something to spark their season to life, given their struggles.

Igor Tudor was one they turned to to offer that spark following Thomas Frank’s dismissal, but four defeats in a row in his first four games left the Croat under pressure.

Spurs were reported to be working on replacements for Tudor following his struggles, with the game against Liverpool said to have been crucial.

Tottenham fans send Igor Tudor message after Liverpool draw

Tottenham avoided defeat against Arne Slot’s side thanks to a Richarlison goal, one that Tudor hopes will serve as a spark to spur Spurs on.

The Lilywhite faithful, who have had little to cheer for most of the season, have now given their verdict on whether Tudor should keep his interim manager job following the draw against Liverpool.

Many fans on social media took a united front, urging the former Juventus man to keep his place.

MORE SPURS STORIES

One fan wrote on social media that the club should stick with Tudor for now following the result.

“We have to hold with him right now, just hold. We cannot sack him after getting a draw. It was not an amazing game but it is a start and we have to build from this.”

Another supporter insisted Tudor had to keep his job after the draw.

“Absolutely. It would be insane to make a change after that.”

A third fan argued that making a managerial change now would only halt any momentum.

“Can’t sack him when we finally get a result that would help us gain momentum. It would just be like starting all over again.”

Another supporter felt the Liverpool result gave the players and manager something to build on.

“After today yes. It would be absolutely insane to get rid of him now that we have something to build on. The players will take huge confidence in themselves and in him. The last thing we need is more upheaval.”

One more fan was convinced Tudor deserved more time after the performance.

“100% should. Got the gameplan right and managed subs well. Hopefully this gives us some momentum. More of this please.”

Another supporter added that upcoming performances should determine the club’s next move. “If they put in a good shift on Wednesday and things look to be clicking, then stick.”

Spurs focus turns to Atletico Madrid and Nottingham Forest

Attention will now turn to the Champions League for Tottenham, with their clash against Atletico Madrid at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the second leg of the Champions League round of 16 next.

Overcoming a three-goal deficit will be a big ask for a squad depleted by injury, but it is a game many will hope to see even more fight from Tottenham.

But the interim manager is not entirely in the clear, as a defeat in the game against Nottingham Forest could spell Tudor’s end, with Spurs able to drop into the relegation zone should they fail to get a result in that match.

Sacking him after that game will afford them a chance to appoint a manager who will have some time to work with these players during the international break.

Whether Tottenham will turn to their ex-players or former managers in that case remains to be seen.
