Description

Tottenham Hotspur are edging dangerously close to overtaking Arsenal in an unwanted record, as Thomas Frank’s side continues to struggle on home soil.

Tottenham Hotspur’s poor home record has been a topic of discussion this season, with Thomas Frank’s side struggling to pick up wins at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

At the moment, Spurs have managed just one win on home soil, collecting four points from a possible 15.

It is not only the lack of victories that has raised concern, but also the style of play, which has left many supporters frustrated.

Tottenham have averaged just a goal per home game this season, scoring five times at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium while conceding five.

Tottenham closing in on Arsenal record at home

With their poor run continuing, one that stretches far beyond this season, statistics now show that Tottenham are closing in on one of Arsenal’s unwanted records.

It is understood that Spurs’ weekend slip-up against London rivals Chelsea was their 41st Premier League defeat at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium from 124 matches, with 13 draws and 70 wins.

MORE SPURS STORIES

In comparison, the Gunners have only lost seven more, despite being residents at the Emirates Stadium for 13 additional years.

Tottenham, on the other hand, have been at their new home for only six years following their move from White Hart Lane in 2019.

The Gunners’ Premier League home record at the Emirates stands at 241 wins, 77 draws, and 48 defeats from 366 matches, with Spurs seven home defeats away from matching their home record, and eight from surpassing it.

Thomas Frank determined to improve Spurs’ home form

Thomas Frank is very much aware of this worrying home record and has stated that it is something he is actively working to fix.

However, it has yet to improve, but Tottenham will be looking to turn a new leaf when they face Copenhagen in the Champions League and Manchester United in the Premier League in what will be back-to-back home fixtures.

Should they secure victories in those outings, it would represent a step in the right direction for Frank’s men, who will then gear up for away trips to London rivals Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain in their subsequent games.

Tottenham fans name their top ten most horrific signings of all time, and one still plays for the club - Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham Hotspur fans have sparked debate after listing the club’s most disastrous transfer deals, with some familiar names featuring heavily among their top ten.

When it comes to signing players during transfer windows, it is often hit or miss, as certain players thrive while others flop.

Tottenham Hotspur have had their fair share of these in recent windows, as the club has spent well over a billion pounds in the last two decades signing players, but not everyone has been a success.

Tottenham fans have now named ten players they believe have been horrific signings throughout the club’s history.

Tottenham supporters debate their worst signings of all time

Taking to X, when asked who the most horrific signings have been for the club, several fans replied with their choice picks.

One fan said: “Ndombele, without a doubt.” Another stated: “Vlad Chiriches, do not care the fee, he was horrible to watch.” One more commented: “Darren Bent.”

Another fan opined: “Moussa Sissoko. Ndombele was a bigger bust financially, but we actually paid £30 million for Sissoko and, for whatever reason, played him frequently. That does not even count his penalty early in the Champions League final that doomed us.”

MORE SPURS STORIES

Another added: “Timo Werner x2.” One more replied: “Bryan Gil because not scoring a single goal in four years while costing £21.5 million (€25 million) plus Erik Lamela is crazy.”

More comments kept coming in, with one Tottenham fan saying: “Vincent Janssen has to be up there.” Another added: “Richarlison. He has done more damage being on the pitch for us than Ndombele did never turning up.”

One more wrote: “Gedson Fernandes.” Another stated: “Darren Anderton, talented player but always injured and then suddenly becomes fit enough to play at World Cups and Euros.”

Spurs transfer hits and misses under Thomas Frank

Ahead of the 2025/26 season, Tottenham once more looked to make a few signings and completed six.

Xavi Simons, Kevin Danso, Mathys Tel, Mohammed Kudus, Joao Palhinha and Takai are the players Tottenham brought in as they looked to compete on multiple fronts.

So far, there have been hits with Kudus and Palhinha looking very solid. Danso has proven to be a good squad option, while Takai is yet to feature for Tottenham.

Tottenham Hotspur set for new 2027/28 shirt sponsor as AIA take up fresh club role - Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham Hotspur will have a fresh sponsor on their shirts from the 2027/28 campaign, with long-term partners AIA set to take up a different role at the club.

Since 2013, Tottenham Hotspur’s iconic white shirts have carried the bold red lettering of AIA, the global insurance company that has become synonymous with the club’s modern era.

That partnership continues this season, with AIA still front and centre on Tottenham Hotspur’s home, away, and third strips.

However, new developments suggest that the familiar look could soon be set for a change, as Spurs prepare for the next chapter of its commercial story.

Tottenham and AIA confirm future partnership changes

According to an official statement on the Tottenham Hotspur website, the club has confirmed an extension of its successful association with AIA Group Limited, who will become Tottenham’s Global Training Partner from July 2027 through to June 2032.

It is understood that AIA will remain Tottenham’s Global Principal Partner and front-of-shirt sponsor until the end of the 2026/27 season, which effectively opens the door for a new main shirt sponsor to come in from the 2027/28 campaign onwards.

The report further notes that from July 2027, AIA will transition to Global Training Partner, with its branding appearing on the training wear for all teams and coaches’ apparel.

AIA’s presence will also remain visible around the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium through LED signage, and its campaigns will continue to feature both the men’s and women’s squads.

Tottenham’s long-standing partnership with AIA continues to evolve

Tottenham’s Chief Revenue Officer, Ryan Norys, reflected on the significance of the partnership and what the next stage means for both brands.

Speaking to the club’s official website, Norys said the collaboration between Tottenham and AIA has gone beyond just sponsorship, shaping memorable moments in the club’s recent history.

He stated: “During our long-term partnership to date, Tottenham Hotspur and AIA have made history together. Both brands have experienced significant growth as we have shared unforgettable moments on and off the pitch, including some of the most important events in our Club’s history.

“Importantly, the partnership has been able to make a tangible, positive difference in the lives of thousands of young people across Asia– bringing our unique brand of football coaching to a region that has such a huge passion for the game – with the clear message of empowering people to live Healthier, Longer, Better Lives.

“We are incredibly excited for the next chapter of a special partnership that will see our two globally recognised brands remain synonymous with each other for many years to come.”

Christian Eriksen reveals why he is particularly happy to see Thomas Frank at Tottenham - Spurs Web
Description

Christian Eriksen has opened up on his relationship with Thomas Frank amid their new Tottenham connection.

Tottenham Hotspur have had several top players don the Lilywhite shirt in the past decade, and Christian Eriksen is one such star.

The Dane, who joined Tottenham in 2013, was part of one of Spurs’ most exciting teams, which had the likes of Harry Kane, Heung-min Son, Dele Alli and Mousa Dembele.

Eriksen was not a passenger in that side, as he contributed significantly to Spurs’ attacking play, thanks to his vision and excellent ball striking. The Danish midfielder scored 69 goals and assisted at least 80 more.

Christian Eriksen reflects on Thomas Frank’s influence at Brentford

He did, however, move on from Tottenham to Inter Milan, before returning to the Premier League to play for Brentford under current Spurs boss Thomas Frank.

The 33-year-old was handed an opportunity to return to football following his traumatising ordeal of his on-field cardiac arrest at the European Championships.

Returning now to Tottenham, as part of a feature in the club’s Official Matchday Programme ahead of their Champions League tie with Danish outfit Copenhagen, Christian caught up to chat all things Spurs – including Head Coach Thomas, who holds a special place in the former number 23’s heart.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Reflecting on that period of his career, Eriksen explained how much Frank’s faith meant to him during one of the toughest times of his life.

“I came from a setback to being able to show what I could do as a footballer. Thomas gave me that chance and I will always be very thankful to him,” Christian smiled as he reflected on his time under Thomas at Brentford where he played 11 times.

“He knows how grateful I am for giving me that opportunity to come back and play again.

“It was a special time. Brentford are a special club and they had a great group of players there in my time.

“I am so happy to see Thomas continuing to do well at Spurs. First and foremost, Thomas is a good manager. As a person, he really is a great human being. He is great at getting the best out of people and he is a very good tactician.”

Thomas Frank’s Tottenham project and what comes next

Of course, there is no doubt that Frank, who also managed Eriksen during his time with Denmark’s under-17 side, is a top manager.

His ability to put together a team capable of competing against the very best, even with limited resources, made him an ideal pick for Tottenham this summer.

However, while the Dane has Spurs in sixth place, the quality of football on show has been far from consistent and exciting, which was the hallmark of his Brentford side.

Many Tottenham fans will be hoping Frank can get his side playing at that level, as they clamour for more front-foot attacking football.

Tottenham receive ‘desperate’ transfer boost as Harry Kane is ‘considering his options’ - Spurs Web
Description

A new update on Harry Kane’s future gives Tottenham fans hope that the club could complete a deal to re-sign their record goalscorer next summer.

Even though Kane has played down the possibility of leaving Bayern Munich, the speculation linking him with a return to Tottenham shows no signs of stopping just yet.

Spurs reportedly want to make Kane their marquee signing in the post-Daniel Levy era, with ENIC keen to signal their ambition.

It has now emerged that Tottenham are not the only club eyeing the 32-year-old, who has found the back of the net 22 times already this season across all competitions.

Barcelona eyeing Tottenham target Harry Kane as he considers his options

Sport are now reporting that the England captain is ‘considering his options’ and has not ruled out leaving Bayern at the end of the season.

His situation has piqued the interest of Barcelona, who are searching for a long-term replacement for Robert Lewandowski, and they are very much in the mix to sign Kane.

The outlet adds that the Bayern Munich star and Atletico Madrid’s Julian Alvarez are the two names that are at the top of Hansi Flick’s wishlist for next summer.

Barca would have to battle Spurs and other clubs for Kane

Sport say that Barca are not alone in their admiration of Kane, with Tottenham Hotspur also ‘desperate’ to take the striker back to N17 this summer.

It is explained that the Bayern man’s £57m release clause and his wage demands may be difficult for the La Liga giants to meet, and they are expecting the competition for his signature to intensify should he decide to leave the Allianz Stadium.

The outlet adds that several Saudi Arabian clubs have also ‘tempted’ Kane with multi-million pound contract offers over recent months.

Gary Neville makes confident prediction about Tottenham and Chelsea’s prospects this season

Gary Neville makes confident prediction about Tottenham and Chelsea's prospects this season - Spurs Web
Description

Gary Neville has revealed who among Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea he considers favourites to finish in the Premier League top four.

There was a clear gulf in class when the two sides locked horns on Saturday, with the Lilywhites barely managing to lay a glove on their London rivals.

In fact, Tottenham registered an xG of just 0.05 against Chelsea, which is their lowest ever in the Premier League, and they had just one shot on target in the game.

While they may have only lost by one goal, that is down to Guglielmo Vicario’s outstanding performance between the sticks, which prevented the North Londoners from being on the receiving end of a drubbing.

Gary Neville believes Chelsea are more likely than Tottenham to finish in top-four

The Blues’ win brings the two London sides level on points, with Tottenham and Chelsea being two of four clubs currently sitting on 17 points.

Neville believes that Enzo Meresca’s men are more likely than Spurs to qualify for next season’s Champions League as they have more quality in their squad.

The Man United legend told NBC Sports: “The problem is the Premier League is so inconsistent this year. When you look at the league table, every team is so inconsistent except for Arsenal. The fact of the matter is Spurs are still in front of Chelsea.

MORE SPURS STORIES

“The Chelsea fans were celebrating in that far corner with the Chelsea players and the Tottenham players had left the pitch devastated after being booed off, but it’s them who are in front in the table.

“It’s been a bit of a mad start to the league this year. I think Chelsea will have enough to get into that top-four because I think it’s going to be a bit crazy all season.”

When asked if he considers Chelsea the favourites to finish in the top four between the two sides, the pundit responded: “I do, yeah. Chelsea have a better squad and better players.

“Look at Tottenham’s players… Randal Kolo Muani, Xavi Simons and a few others haven’t settled in yet and don’t look like they’re at the level the Chelsea players are. Chelsea have a far better squad than Tottenham, and they should have because they’ve spent far more money.”

Spurs are rank outsiders for Champions League qualification

Following the latest round of results, Opta’s Supercomputer predicts that Tottenham will finish in 11th place in the Premier League table.

The algorithm has handed Thomas Frank’s men just a 10.97 per cent chance of qualifying for next season’s Champions League.

In fact, according to the website’s calculation, the Lilywhites only have a 17.95 per cent chance of finishing within the Europa League places, making them massive underdogs.

Tottenham vs FC Copenhagen Champions League preview, team news, and predicted lineup - Spurs Web
Description

After a run of disappointing performances domestically, Tottenham Hotspur turn their attention to the Champions League, where they host FC Copenhagen.

It’s fair to say Thomas Frank’s honeymoon period at his new club is well and truly over. Spurs have now lost three of their last five games, winning just once despite a bright start to the season.

Their latest outing, a 1-0 home defeat to Chelsea, was perhaps the worst of the lot, as they recorded just 0.05 xG, which happened to be the lowest in their Premier League history since data collection began.

In Europe though, it’s been a different story. Tottenham Hotspur remain unbeaten after a 1-0 win against Villarreal on the opening day, followed by draws with Bodo/Glimt and then to Monaco as they sit 15th in the Champions League table.

As for the visitors, FC Kobenhavn arrive in north London on the back of consecutive wins but haven’t quite replicated the levels they hit last season when they topped the Superligaen Championship playoff.

Sitting fifth in the league at the moment, they’ve found the Champions League a tougher test this time around. After opening with a 2-2 draw against Bayer Leverkusen, they fell to back-to-back defeats: 2-0 to Qarabag FK and then 4-2 to Borussia Dortmund most recently.

What time does Tottenham Hotspur vs FC Copenhagen kick off?

Location: London, England

Stadium: Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

Tottenham team news

Tottenham were handed a welcome boost at the weekend with Cristian Romero, Destiny Udogie, and Wilson Odobert all returning to the pitch as substitutes from short injury layoffs.

However, Lucas Bergvall suffered a concussion early in the Chelsea match and will miss this one due to concussion protocols. Mohammed Kudus and Djed Spence are also doubts after picking up knocks.

It’s still a fairly lengthy injury list for Spurs, with Radu Dragusin, Archie Gray, Ben Davies, Kota Takai, Yves Bissouma, James Maddison, Dejan Kulusevski, and Dominic Solanke all unavailable.

FC Kobenhavn team news

Copenhagen are unsure about the fitness of left-back Marcos Lopez after he was taken off during the weekend’s 1-1 draw with Midtjylland.

Gabriel Pereira missed that match due to illness and remains a doubt alongside Rodrigo Huescas and Oliver Hojer. Birger Meling and Magnus Mattsson are the long-term absentees for the Danish side.

Predicted Tottenham line-up

Vicario; Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Udogie; Bentancur, Palhinha, Simons; Johnson, Richarlison, Odobert

There is unlikely to be many changes to Spurs’ backline, though Djed Spence could step in for Udogie if the Italian isn’t deemed fully fit.

With Bergvall ruled out, Frank has few options in midfield and may have to stick with Xavi Simons, though Pape Sarr could also come into contention.

Up front, Mohammed Kudus has looked fatigued after a heavy run of fixtures – even without his knock – so Brennan Johnson could be an option to freshen things up.

Our prediction

Tottenham may have struggled at home in the Premier League this season, collecting just 4 points from 5 matches, but Europe has been a completely different story.

They’ve not lost a European home game since February 2020, winning 17 and drawing four of their last 21 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Thomas Frank admitted after the Chelsea defeat that he’d never managed a side that created so little and acknowledged that the team’s creativity must improve with time. He knows the fans’ patience is wearing thin, made evident by the boos at full-time after the defeat to Chelsea. A strong performance here could ease some of that frustration.

Keep an eye on Guglielmo Vicario, who’s in peak form and has picked up two Player of the Match awards in his last three appearances.

Xavi Simons, meanwhile, has struggled to adapt to the Premier League’s physical demands but should feel more at home in this competition, so he’ll be eager to make his mark.

Tottenham will be over the moon at Mikey Moore’s ‘electric’ and ‘phenomenal’ turnaround at Rangers

Tottenham will be over the moon at Mikey Moore's 'electric' and 'phenomenal' turnaround at Rangers - Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham loanee Mikey Moore has started to win over Rangers fans in Scotland, as his recent performances under new boss Danny Rohl have sparked a wave of excitement among the Ibrox faithful.

Since completing his loan move, Tottenham Hotspur loanee Mikey Moore has been finding his feet in Scotland, after a difficult early start.

Moore’s first few months in Glasgow with Rangers were not the best, with the 18-year-old managing just two goal involvements in his opening eleven games.

However, since the departure of Russell Martin and the appointment of Danny Rohl, the youngster looks to have turned a corner, much to the delight of Rangers supporters.

Rangers fans praise Tottenham loanee Mikey Moore

Moore once more featured from the bench, but despite Rangers losing 3-1 to rivals Celtic in the League Cup semi-final, the teenager’s performance did catch the eye of Rangers fans, who were quick to hand out praise to the youngster.

Speaking on his performance, one fan said: “Mikey Moore has been terrific.” Another added: “Defeat for Mikey Moore in the Old Firm derby but he is slowly turning a corner at Rangers. Been a good week for the THFC loanee. Plenty of time for Moore to still be a big success in Scotland. Keep going.”

Another supporter wrote: “Mikey Moore must have not liked Russell Martin’s tactics because in the last two games he’s really found his feet and looks a proper addition to the team now. You can see the confidence growing in him.”

MORE SPURS STORIES

One more commented: “Do not know what Rohl is feeding Mikey Moore but he has been unbelievable since he came in.”

Another opined: “Mikey Moore should never be benched for Aasgaard again. Phenomenal when he came on for Rangers today.”

Another fan said: “It says a lot when an 18-year-old is our biggest threat. Fair play to Mikey Moore, right now he’s the first name on the team sheet.”

One more added: “Mikey Moore appreciation post. Not used correctly under Martin and been on the fringes. Changed the game today and should be starting from now on.”

On his performance against Celtic, one fan said: “Mikey Moore has been electric since he came on.”

Another Tottenham fan wrote: “Mikey Moore has changed this game, what a talent.”

A supporter stated, “Mikey Moore has had a big impact lately. Long may it continue. He’s got so much potential and will only get better.”

And a final Tottenham fan added: “Mikey Moore is going to be a serious player in the game. We are not going to see the best of him at Rangers obviously, but I’ve been really impressed that an 18-year-old kid has not gone into a shell. He’s still wanting it, carrying it with purpose. Big part to play between now and May.”

Spurs will be monitoring Moore’s Rangers progress

Tottenham will no doubt be monitoring their youngster’s development out in Scotland, as they would be hoping he can return to N17 a much better player.

The teenager has yet to start a game from the off consistently under his new boss, and if he is to keep improving, that would be a logical next step.

Following his impressive display against Celtic, Moore will now be looking forward to leaving a mark when Rangers take on AS Roma in the Europa League.

Tim Sherwood thinks Tottenham Hotspur fans are contributing to dismal home form

Tim Sherwood thinks Tottenham Hotspur fans are contributing to dismal home form - Spurs Web
Description

Tim Sherwood has provided a reason for Tottenham’s widely contrasting results at home and away from their stadium this season.

Spurs boast of the best away record in the Premier League, having won four and drawn one of their five away matches in the competition this season.

However, Tottenham’s results at home read like those of a team battling relegation, with the Lilywhites having won one and lost three of their five games at N17.

The boos were deafening at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after their latest defeat against Chelsea, and one can certainly understand the supporters’ discontent as they have not seen the team win at the venue since the opening day of the season.

Tim Sherwood says Tottenham are not able to cope with the demanding home fans

Tim Sherwood believes that the reason Thomas Frank’s men are so good away from home is that they can defend deep and hit teams on the counter-attack.

He suggested that they struggle in front of their fans, who expect them to boss the game and play on the front foot.

The former Spurs midfielder and interim manager told Premier League Productions: “They’re far better away from home. They’re allowed to play however they want away from home as long as they win the football match. They score from two set pieces. Micky van de Ven there (against Everton).

MORE SPURS STORIES

“But unfortunately, when you play at home, the fans demand a lot more than that. I think that’s why they’ve struggled at home. I really do. I just think that there are demands from the fans to entertain. You feel obliged as a player to entertain as well.”

One Spurs star spared Thomas Frank’s blushes against Chelsea

If Tottenham had been thumped by Chelsea on Saturday, they could have had absolutely no complaints, given how one-sided the game was.

It was only Guglielmo Vicario’s outstanding performance on Saturday that prevented the Lilywhites from being on the receiving end of a massive drubbing.

Thomas Frank thus has a lot to worry about as it is not only that his side are not creating chances at home, but they are also conceding way too many opportunities to the opposition.

Tottenham labelled 'dreamers' if they expect £53m player to be a star after just one good season - Spurs Web
Description

Frank Leboeuf has blasted Tottenham Hotspur for a big decision they made in the summer and has written off one Spurs man completely.

Barring Mohammed Kudus, who has arguably been Tottenham’s best player this season, none of the club’s attackers have made a good start to the season.

The spotlight is now understandably falling on a player who was signed in the summer to solve the club’s creative woes but has failed to do so.

Many pundits have pointed out that Xavi Simons is struggling to cope with the pace and physicality of the Premier League, and one former Chelsea man has now written the Dutchman off after his latest performance.

Frank Leboeuf says Tottenham have signed a one-season wonder in Xavi Simons

Following Tottenham’s defeat to Chelsea, Jamie O’Hara said that Spurs have wasted the money they spent on Xavi, remarking that he looks like a youth player.

Leboeuf agrees with the assessment, insisting that the North London club hierarchy were living in dreamland if they expected the Dutchman to be one of the linchpins of their side, given his career so far.

Leboeuf said on ESPN FC: “I just want to have a point on Xavi Simons, and some of the players who played one good year, for him for Leipzig, because that wasn’t the case for Paris Saint-Germain before, and had an average season last season.

MORE SPURS STORIES

“So, for £53 million for Tottenham, you expect what? What do you expect from those players who have one good year of football? To be a game-changer? People are dreaming, dreamers. I don’t get that.”

A former Spurs midfielder has a similar concern about Xavi

It is not just Leboeuf who has questioned the 22-year-old’s career trajectory, with a former Spurs midfielder making a similar point last week.

Jermaine Jenas questioned why PSG let Xavi go if they thought he was a top talent, but the 42-year-old still backed the attacking midfielder to come good eventually.
