Description

Tottenham Hotspur have just learned whether Dusan Vlahovic will leave Juventus in January and how difficult any potential race for his signature will be.

Spurs are thought to be one of several clubs eyeing a move for a Juventus centre-forward, who is allegedly looking for an exit route from the Allianz Stadium.

In fact, over the last two weeks, Spurs Web has relayed multiple reports stating that Tottenham are Vlahovic’s most likely destination in January.

It has been suggested that Fabio Paratici’s connections at Juventus could give Spurs an advantage in the £13m race for the Serbian, and there has now been a big development over his future.

Tottenham target Dusan Vlahovic makes Juventus contract decision

A new report in Fichajes has now claimed that the rumoured Spurs target has now made up his mind not to sign a new deal in Turin.

Vlahovic’s current contract runs out next summer, and Juve have been working very hard over recent months to tie the 25-year-old.

However, the talks have now hit a complete impasse, and there is a sense of resignation at the Bianconeri about the centre-forward’s future.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Vlahovic has made it clear that he is looking for a new challenge, with sources close to Juve considering his departure to be ‘inevitable’.

Two La Liga clubs are ready to challenge Spurs for Vlahovic

Fichajes say this latest development over the striker’s contract has ‘set off alarm bells’ at both Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, who are both fans of the player.

In fact, the outlet asserts that Barca are the front-runners to land Vlahovic, with the club seeing the former Fiorentina man as the successor to Robert Lewandowski.

Interestingly, though, it is suggested that the Catalan giants will look to sign the Serbian international on a free transfer next summer rather than paying a fee for him in January.

A Premier League manager has reacted to the speculation linking his star striker with a move to Tottenham Hotspur in January.

The number nine area has been a major problem for Thomas Frank so far this season, with Dominic Solanke and Randal Kolo Muani dealing with injury problems.

Neither Mathys Tel nor Richarlison have made the position their own, and that is perhaps why it has been reported that Spurs are keen to add a centre-forward to their squad in January.

It emerged a couple of days ago that Tottenham are eyeing a £30m move for a Brentford star, who has started the season brilliantly, and the club’s manager has now responded to the speculation.

Keith Andrews says Tottenham target Igor Thiago is not for sale

The striker in question is Igor Thiago, who has been one of the standout strikers across the Premier League so far this season.

The Brazilian has found the back of the net six times in nine league outings, and Brentford boss Kieth Andrews is now insistent that the 24-year-old is going nowhere in January.

When asked about the speculation over Thiago’s future, the Bees boss said (Mirror): “I’ve said over the past few weeks, I was really happy when the last transfer window closed.

MORE SPURS STORIES

“We’re not even in November, so I’m not going to talk about a transfer window that is two months away, which will inevitably come closer to the time.

“Thiago is going absolutely nowhere, absolutely nowhere, he’s a pivotal part of this football club, he doesn’t want to go anywhere, that won’t be happening.”

Spurs are eyeing two European strikers

It is not just forwards in the Premier League that Tottenham are looking at, with the Lilywhites also said to be among the front-runners for two strikers who ply their trade on the continent.

Several sources have named Tottenham as Dusan Vlahovic’s most likely destination in January as the striker looks for an exit route from Juventus.

Another Premier League club have now expressed an intention to challenge Tottenham Hotspur for Brazilian starlet Rayan Vitor in January.

Spurs Web has relayed several reports over the last month claiming that Tottenham have been scouting Rayan closely ahead of the January window.

In fact, several sources have claimed that Spurs have made a serious overture towards the Vasco Da Gama starlet, but the Lilywhites may struggle to get a deal for the forward done.

This is because Vasco are working on tying the Tottenham target down to a new contract, and the competition for his services is growing.

Man United ready to challenge Tottenham for Rayan Vitor

According to a report from Bolavip, Man United have now become the latest Premier League club to enter the race for the 19-year-old forward.

The report says that the Red Devils are now following Rayan’s progress closely and are considering making a move for the teenager in January.

The outlets suggest that Vasco are continuing to work on tying the wide-forward to a new contract, and the Brazilian club are hoping to set his new release clause at £60m.

MORE SPURS STORIES

What is Rayan thinking about his future?

Interestingly, this latest update suggests that despite Vasco’s best efforts to tie him down, the Brazilian may find an opportunity to move to the Premier League to be very tempting.

The report backs up what we have heard from other sources over recent days by stating that both Spurs and Arsenal remain very keen on signing Rayan.

Additionally, it is asserted that Newcastle United are also circling over the Vasco starlet, but all these clubs are warned that they have to pay a ‘premium’ if they wish to sign the youngster in January.

Jamie Carragher changes his tune on Joao Palhinha despite lauding the Tottenham star last week

Jamie Carragher changes his tune on Joao Palhinha despite lauding the Tottenham star last week - Spurs Web
Description

Jamie Carragher has said that there is a reason why no big club went for Joao Palhinha apart from Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

The 30-year-old has delivered what was expected of him since his loan move from Bayern Munich in the summer.

Palhinha has been posting excellent numbers on ball recoveries, tackles and interceptions this season, and his addition has undoubtedly made Spurs much more solid defensively.

However, many have pointed out that Palhinha and Rodrigo Bentancur rarely pass the ball forward, which is seen as the main reason why the Lilywhites are struggling to create chances with regularity.

Jamie Carragher points to interesting Joao Palhinha stats for Tottenham

The midfielders across the Premier League were plotted on a graph for tackles and line-breaking passes on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football.

Carragher pointed out that while Palhinha is comfortably outperforming almost every other midfielder for tackles, neither he nor Bentancur are making too many passes through the lines.

The Liverpool legend suggested the Portuguese international’s shortcomings in possession are why no other big club wanted him this summer, and Bayern Munich hardly played him last season.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Carragher said: “One of his [Thomas Frank’s] first signings is Palhinha. He is not capable, I don’t think, of doing this [breaking the lines with his passes]. There was a reason why teams from the Premier League didn’t buy him from Fulham. There was a reason Bayern Munich bought him and didn’t play him. So, that would be a worry.

“For Thomas Frank going forward, when you think of pragmatic managers in the past who have made the jump up from a smaller club to a bigger club, that has always been the problem, in terms of can they coach the rotations, the build-up play, to break the lines?”

Just one week ago, Carragher said Palhinha was Tottenham’s best signing of the summer. While he acknowledged his lack of playmaking skills, he called the midfielder ‘exactly what Spurs needed’.

Carragher wrote in The Telegraph: “The best signing under Frank so far is Joao Palhinha, a highly effective ball-winner more so than a playmaker.

“In the early stages of his Spurs career, Palhinha is exactly what Frank and his new club need, and it could bring instant success.

“Going forward, there will have to be an evolution, as the pairing of Palhinha and Rodrigo Bentancur is perceived by supporters to be over-cautious in home games.”

Can Spurs get away with a Palhinha-Bentancur midfield partnership?

Over recent weeks, many Spurs fans have been frustrated with Frank’s tendency to start Benancur and Palhinha together as they want to see Pape Sarr getting the nod over one of the two.

Frank has been adamant that he is happy with Tottenham’s midfield balance, and there is no doubt that the double-pivot he is using has made the Lilywhites hard to break down.

However, the only way to play the two experienced midfielders in a double-pivot is if you have a front four, which is extremely creative.

Thomas Frank controversially calls for better support from Tottenham fans during games

Thomas Frank controversially calls for better support from Tottenham fans during games - Spurs Web
Description

Thomas Frank has said Tottenham deserved to be booed after the loss to Chelsea, but urged Spurs fans to do one thing during matches.

Former Spurs interim manager Tim Sherwood has said that the Tottenham players are struggling to cope with the pressure from the home fans, and that the team’s results this season suggest he might be onto something.

Spurs have not won at home in the Premier League since the opening day clash against Burnley, and supporters are clearly not too happy with the performances they are seeing.

The boos were ringing around the stadium after their latest defeat to Chelsea, and some Tottenham players were abused when they applauded the fans in the South Stand after the final whistle.

Thomas Frank tells Tottenham fans they can make a big difference

The Tottenham head coach acknowledged that the supporters were fully within their rights to boo the team after the final whistle against Chelsea.

However, the Dane urged Spurs fans to get behind the team as much as possible during the game, especially when they are in tough situations, suggesting that their support could be the difference between a loss and a win.

Frank said (via The Guardian): “I want to get the point across that the fans were fantastic in the first 30 minutes. It seems there was a little bit of a turning point when we conceded the goal, where we all get a little bit frustrated, which is natural.

MORE SPURS STORIES

“After the game, if we perform badly and on top of that we lose, it’s more than fair enough that they boo us. We are in the performance business and if we can’t deal with the pressure, the negativity or the criticism, we shouldn’t sit here. But during the game, we need a little bit of help. And especially when it’s not going the right way.

“They [the fans] can be the turning point. We were 1-0 down in the last 15 minutes … imagine they carry us over the line and we got a little bit of an unfair 1-1. What a feeling! That point can be the difference in a long season.”

Just like the players, Spurs fans also have to take some responsibility

When a player or the manager suggests that the fans can do something a little better, they are often met with angry responses from the fans.

That has predictably also been the response to Frank and Vicario’s comments as well, with many fans asking how dare the players question them when they pay such high ticket prices.

However, those kinds of arguments are deflections and fail to deal with the actual point being raised, which is that booing your own team during a game helps no one, certainly not the team.

The players and the coaching staff want to win more desperately than any of us and are not playing badly on purpose. Many supporters fail not to realise this simple point.

The supporters’ role should be to do their part by getting behind the team throughout the 90 minutes. Any criticism of the tactics and the players should come after the game.

Guglielmo Vicario admits Tottenham players would appreciate ‘a little more help’ from fans - Spurs Web
Description

Guglielmo Vicario has admitted that the Tottenham players could do with the fans getting behind the team when they are trying to chase the game.

Thomas Frank expressed a desire to make the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium a fortress earlier this season, but it is proving the exact opposite at the moment.

Tottenham’s home form has been relegation-worthy this season, in stark contrast to their away record, which has been almost spotless.

Some pundits have suggested that the Spurs players are struggling to cope with the pressure of their demanding fans when they play at home.

Guglielmo Vicario calls on Tottenham fans to get behind the side

There was loud jeering not just after the final whistle against Chelsea, but also during the game as Tottenham Hotspur were trying to come back from a goal down.

Vicario has admitted that it would help the team if the supporters are behind them during tough situations, but conceded that the fans have the right to express their feelings.

When asked if the players had spoken about their disastrous showing against Chelsea and the boos from the stands, the Spurs number one said (via Football.London): “We have spoken. I think probably in some moments during the game … probably when we are chasing, we need to have a little more cool heads and if we have a little bit more help from some situations coming from the stands it could be, of course, better, but we cannot control it,” said the goalkeeper.

MORE SPURS STORIES

“At the end, of course, everyone was disappointed. We had lost a London derby, so everyone was really frustrated, and we get the reaction of the fans at the end of the game. They can express their pain, and we were of course in a big pain situation, so that’s across every stadium in the world, in Europe, in the UK. So we get the point. We were just disappointed with the result.”

Vicario is not fazed by a few boos from the stands

The 28-year-old insisted that he has no issues with the fan reaction, admitting that he has seen much worse in his career in Italian football.

The goalkeeper remarked that it is up to him and his teammates to turn the situation around and get the supporters onside.

Vicario added about the fan reaction against Chelsea: “It’s normal. I was a fan when I was a kid, and going to the stadium, I saw many of these things. Probably in Italy it’s also a little bit worse when you go, so I have big shoulders about that, it’s not a big problem.

“It’s like when you go to the theatre and you see a show and you don’t like it and you express your reactions, your feelings. The main thing is for us to concentrate on what we have to do on the pitch, because it’s on us to turn around the situation.”

Tottenham fans all say the same thing as bombshell shirt sponsor news emerges

Tottenham fans all say the same thing as bombshell shirt sponsor news emerges - Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham are preparing for a fresh look in 2027 as the club confirms a major change to their shirt sponsorship, and many fans are eager to see what comes next.

Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that their partnership with AIA is set to evolve from the insurance company being the front-of-shirt sponsor.

AIA has held a place on the chest of Tottenham’s kits for more than a decade, but that is expected to change from the 2027/28 season onward.

However, this does not spell the end of the partnership between AIA and Tottenham, as the insurance company are expected to switch roles and become the club’s training wear sponsor at that point.

Spurs fans have now shared their reaction to the latest update, with many of the Lilywhites faithful delighted that the club is moving on from a red sponsor.

Several fans are hoping a company with a blue logo becomes the new shirt sponsor, while others have been left to speculate on what the latest change could be for the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

One fan said: “Thank God. Maybe they will pick a front of shirt sponsor that is not red for once,” while another stated: “Finally, hopefully our next sponsor is not red.”

MORE SPURS STORIES

Another fan added: “Thank f**k! Something BLUE please!” One supporter opined: “End of an era. I hate the red font, but I do not know. I kind of grew into the AIA logo on our kits. Oh well, we better get a good sponsor.”

Another supporter speculated: “I wonder if Tottenham have done this so that they can bundle the shirt sponsor together with stadium sponsorship?”

Still on stadium rights, one fan claimed: “Just in time for a takeover and a stadium sponsor. The stars are aligning.” Another remarked, “Bring back Holsten,” with several others echoing the same sentiment.

With Tottenham expected to take on a new shirt sponsor from the 2027/28 season onwards, fans are not wrong to speculate about the stadium naming rights.

Since moving from White Hart Lane, Tottenham have not been able to secure a naming rights deal for the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, despite having conversations with several top companies.

But with Daniel Levy having departed Spurs, it is believed that a deal could soon be reached, as Tottenham are reported to be following a unique MetLife Stadium strategy to acquire naming rights.

It remains to be seen if the change of front shirt sponsors will coincide with the stadium naming rights announcement.

Guglielmo Vicario reveals why he pushed Lucas Bergvall away from Tottenham fans on Saturday - Spurs Web
Description

Guglielmo Vicario has revealed what prompted him to push Lucas Bergvall away and gesture at the Tottenham stands after the loss to Chelsea on Saturday.

The boos were deafening after the final whistle at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday, and one could understand the frustration of the supporters, given that Spurs had managed to register an xG of just 0.05 against Chelsea.

Despite the jerring, many of the Tottenham players walked around the pitch to applaud the supporters after the final whistle, including Lucas Bergvall, who had come off concussed earlier in the game.

However, Vicario spotted the midfielder getting abused by a supporter in the South Stand, and he decided to confront the fan.

Guglielmo Vicario discusses abuse from Tottenham fan

The Spurs goalkeeper pushed Bergvall away towards the tunnel, and he could be seen repeatedly gesturing back towards the abusive supporter, pointing to him and then to his own eyes in an ‘I see you’ motion.

However, Vicario has now played down the incident, insisting that it was a case of just one bad apple behaving inappropriately.

When asked about the incident, the 28-year-old said (via Football.London): “In every environment, there are very good people and some bad people. Probably [Lucas] had contact with one bad person. That doesn’t necessarily say that everyone is a bad person.

MORE SPURS STORIES

“But there are some bad people in every environment, and I had to protect Lucas because he was a little bit emotional in that moment. It’s part of my experience to do that, and we can discuss it inside the dressing-room and not outside.”

Should Spurs players applaud the supporters when they lose?

It is a noble gesture for the players to go around applauding the fans and thanking them for their efforts, even after defeats. That is particularly the case, given that the supporters had been booing during the game and after the final whistle.

However, if the players are going to be subject to abuse, then one can forgive them for not wanting to do the same in the future.

Tottenham close in on embarrassing Arsenal record despite having 13-year head start - Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham Hotspur are edging dangerously close to overtaking Arsenal in an unwanted record, as Thomas Frank’s side continues to struggle on home soil.

Tottenham Hotspur’s poor home record has been a topic of discussion this season, with Thomas Frank’s side struggling to pick up wins at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

At the moment, Spurs have managed just one win on home soil, collecting four points from a possible 15.

It is not only the lack of victories that has raised concern, but also the style of play, which has left many supporters frustrated.

Tottenham have averaged just a goal per home game this season, scoring five times at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium while conceding five.

Tottenham closing in on Arsenal record at home

With their poor run continuing, one that stretches far beyond this season, statistics now show that Tottenham are closing in on one of Arsenal’s unwanted records.

It is understood that Spurs’ weekend slip-up against London rivals Chelsea was their 41st Premier League defeat at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium from 124 matches, with 13 draws and 70 wins.

MORE SPURS STORIES

In comparison, the Gunners have only lost seven more, despite being residents at the Emirates Stadium for 13 additional years.

Tottenham, on the other hand, have been at their new home for only six years following their move from White Hart Lane in 2019.

The Gunners’ Premier League home record at the Emirates stands at 241 wins, 77 draws, and 48 defeats from 366 matches, with Spurs seven home defeats away from matching their home record, and eight from surpassing it.

Thomas Frank determined to improve Spurs’ home form

Thomas Frank is very much aware of this worrying home record and has stated that it is something he is actively working to fix.

However, it has yet to improve, but Tottenham will be looking to turn a new leaf when they face Copenhagen in the Champions League and Manchester United in the Premier League in what will be back-to-back home fixtures.

Should they secure victories in those outings, it would represent a step in the right direction for Frank’s men, who will then gear up for away trips to London rivals Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain in their subsequent games.

Tottenham fans name their top ten most horrific signings of all time, and one still plays for the club - Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham Hotspur fans have sparked debate after listing the club’s most disastrous transfer deals, with some familiar names featuring heavily among their top ten.

When it comes to signing players during transfer windows, it is often hit or miss, as certain players thrive while others flop.

Tottenham Hotspur have had their fair share of these in recent windows, as the club has spent well over a billion pounds in the last two decades signing players, but not everyone has been a success.

Tottenham fans have now named ten players they believe have been horrific signings throughout the club’s history.

Tottenham supporters debate their worst signings of all time

Taking to X, when asked who the most horrific signings have been for the club, several fans replied with their choice picks.

One fan said: “Ndombele, without a doubt.” Another stated: “Vlad Chiriches, do not care the fee, he was horrible to watch.” One more commented: “Darren Bent.”

Another fan opined: “Moussa Sissoko. Ndombele was a bigger bust financially, but we actually paid £30 million for Sissoko and, for whatever reason, played him frequently. That does not even count his penalty early in the Champions League final that doomed us.”

MORE SPURS STORIES

Another added: “Timo Werner x2.” One more replied: “Bryan Gil because not scoring a single goal in four years while costing £21.5 million (€25 million) plus Erik Lamela is crazy.”

More comments kept coming in, with one Tottenham fan saying: “Vincent Janssen has to be up there.” Another added: “Richarlison. He has done more damage being on the pitch for us than Ndombele did never turning up.”

One more wrote: “Gedson Fernandes.” Another stated: “Darren Anderton, talented player but always injured and then suddenly becomes fit enough to play at World Cups and Euros.”

Spurs transfer hits and misses under Thomas Frank

Ahead of the 2025/26 season, Tottenham once more looked to make a few signings and completed six.

Xavi Simons, Kevin Danso, Mathys Tel, Mohammed Kudus, Joao Palhinha and Takai are the players Tottenham brought in as they looked to compete on multiple fronts.

So far, there have been hits with Kudus and Palhinha looking very solid. Danso has proven to be a good squad option, while Takai is yet to feature for Tottenham.
