Everton are keen to do their summer transfer business early.

The window has only been open for three days but already, Everton have been exploring a number of potential deals.

David Moyes has checked in on James McAtee, who has just been left out of Manchester City’s Club World Cup squad.

Moyes has also been eyeing Aleksandar Mitrovic after missing out on Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap, who is closing in on a move to Chelsea.

Now, according to journalist Ben Jacobs, Tottenham Hotspur’s Yves Bissouma is emerging as a potential signing.

“So we may have to be a bit patient with the future of Bissouma, because I think the player will bide his time as well.

“He wants to stay in the Premier League. I’m told Leeds are another one to watch. They’re looking to add another midfielder.

“Even Everton, I’m told, could come into the mix as well, because they’re going to be losing a couple of midfielders and also looking to strengthen in that area too.

“So it wouldn’t surprise me if this one maybe drags on for a week or two more, but Villa could be one of the clubs to keep an eye on. And I just don’t see them doing anything before the financial year closes.”

How much would Yves Bissouma cost?

Spurs paid Brighton and Hove Albion around £25m rising to £35m for Bissouma during the summer of 2022.

The 28-year-old only has one year remaining on his deal, so the Toffees have the opportunity to land his signature at a discounted fee.

Perhaps a fee of around £15m would be fair for both parties, otherwise, they may decide to wait until next year when he’s available on a free transfer.

As Jacobs alluded to, Everton face competition from Aston Villa and newly-promoted Leeds United, so it won’t be an easy deal to complete.

Should he join, Silva would be managing in the Champions League for the third time in his managerial career, having been in the competition with Sporting and Olympiacos.

Despite the frosty end to his Everton career, Silva still has fond memories of his stint. Silva’s favourite Goodison memory was beating Manchester United 4-0, admitting it was an “emotional moment” for him.

Silva will undoubtedly have a big job on his hands if he were to land the Spurs job. Fans will be eager for more success after getting their hands on silverware for the first time in 17 years.

Everton could also re-sign a player signed by Silva in 2018. Coincidentally, it is Richarlison from Spurs. Richarlison has been linked with a return to Merseyside, but there are doubts Everton can sign him this summer.

Instead, Everton are eyeing a move for Stuttgart’s Nick Woltemade, but they must fight off interest from Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich and Brighton.

While there is potential to make a lot of money selling Branthwaite, Everton surely don’t want to offload the star this summer.

He is perhaps the Everton player with the highest ceiling at the moment.

Everton need to be building for the future, and Branthwaite – who Abdoulaye Doucoure has tipped for the top – is a potential future captain at the club.
