Tottenham Hotspur are set for a busy period in the transfer market next week, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

The club has not made any significant signings as yet, having signed only Archie Gray from Leeds and extended Timo Werner’s loan deal. They have also signed Min-hyuk Yang but that is a signing for the future.

Fans have been left frustrated by the lack of signings but as per the transfer expert, that could change next week.

Speaking on Watch Playback, he said:

“I expect Tottenham to be active and busy in the transfer market next week.”

The Lilywhites are preparing to make significant moves to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season.

Spurs have been targeting both a wide forward and a striker during this transfer window.

Their main focus has been on two strikers: Brentford’s Ivan Toney and Bournemouth’s Dominic Solanke.

Ivan Toney, currently in the final year of his contract with Brentford, has emerged as a key target.

With his contract expiring next June, Toney is likely to move this summer.

The 28-year-old striker, who was also named in England’s squad for the recent Euros, has been on Spurs’ radar for a while.

Dominic Solanke has also attracted Tottenham’s interest following an impressive season with Bournemouth.

The 26-year-old forward scored 21 goals in 41 appearances across all competitions, making him the fourth joint-top scorer in the Premier League.

Spurs are exploring the possibility of a player-plus-cash deal for Solanke, considering his £65 million release clause.

In addition to these strikers, Tottenham is keen on acquiring either Pedro Neto or Eberechi Eze. Both players have been linked with the Lilywhites, with each valued at around £60 million.

These potential signings highlight the club’s ambition to significantly enhance their attacking options.

As the transfer window progresses, Tottenham’s proactive approach in the market reflects their determination to build a competitive squad capable of achieving success in the upcoming season.

Last summer, Tottenham Hotspur secured the signing of prodigy Croatian defender Luka Vuskovic from HNK Hajduk Split.

The 17-year-old is set to officially join Spurs next year under a contract extension until 2030, with the deal valued at £12 million.

Vuskovic was loaned to Belgian Pro League side Westerlo last month, to gain valuable first-team experience.

He quickly made his mark at the new club, scoring his first goal in the Belgian league during only his second appearance.

He found the net from the corner in the 36th minute with a powerful header at the far post during a match against Mechelen.

This goal adds to Vuskovic’s impressive tally, as he now has four goals in his last 14 starts.

Watch the goal below:

Vušković got his first goal for Westerlo already, crazy.

Monster of a CB and his ability in both boxes is amazing for someone of his age, you can’t leave him in that much space in the box.

Arguably Tottenham’s best talent.

The Brazilian international isn’t part of Spurs’ plans for the upcoming season, having played the role of a squad player last season.

Emerson has already settled on personal terms with Milan, which include a five-year contract valued at €3 million annually. The final club-to-club agreement is anticipated to be completed soon.

Although Tottenham currently have Pedro Porro and Djed Spence as options for the right-back position, Romano pointed out that the club is actively seeking to add another right-back.

The recent signing of Archie Gray also gives manager Ange Postecoglou an additional option to use in the right-back role, thanks to Gray’s versatility.

Recent reports have linked Spurs with an interest in Manchester City’s right-back Issa Kabore, who is valued at around £12 million this summer.

Kabore’s strong performances on loan at Luton Town in the Premier League last season have caught the eye of several clubs, including the Lilywhites.

As the transfer window progresses, it will be interesting to see how committed Tottenham is to securing another right-back.

Emerson’s imminent departure suggests that the club is focused on reinforcing their defensive lineup to ensure a strong and competitive squad for the upcoming season.

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keen on signing Wolves’ winger Pedro Neto, and are considered as frontrunners in the race for his signature.

The Portuguese international has garnered interest from multiple top clubs, including Arsenal.

However, according to a trusted insider on the Team News and Ticks Patreon page, Spurs are now seen as the more likely destination for Neto.

This insider, knowledgeable in transfer affairs, suggests that Tottenham’s chances of signing Neto are higher than Arsenal’s.

One reason is that the Gunners seem to be focusing on other targets, giving Spurs a clear path to make a decisive offer.

Additionally, it is suggested that the Lilywhites might be willing to meet a higher valuation for the 24-year-old forward than their North London rivals.

The insider said:

“If I had a gun to my head now and I had to answer I would say that Tottenham are more likely. Just because he’s lower down our [Arsenal] list and they [Tottenham] could swoop in while we’re exploring other opportunities. I also think they would go for a higher price to him than we would.”

Neto has been a key player for Wolves, displaying his talent despite a hamstring injury last season. He scored three goals and provided 11 assists in 24 appearances across the Premier League and FA Cup, highlighting his pace, dribbling skills, and ability to lead the attack.

Although Neto is under contract with Wolves until June 2027, his significant €55 million market value indicates that Tottenham will need to make a considerable financial investment to secure him.

Spurs see Neto as a valuable addition who could significantly enhance their attacking options and are prepared to make the necessary expenditure.

Tottenham’s pursuit of Neto reflects their ambition to strengthen the squad and compete at the highest level.

The club’s interest in the winger demonstrates their approach to bolstering the team and striving for success in the upcoming season.

Tottenham officials have been in talks with Arsenal target Pedro Neto’s camp about a move to the club this summer.

We are down to the final few weeks of the transfer window and Tottenham still have a lot to take care of. No doubt they have signed some quality players, but the North London club are yet to add more firepower to their attack. Despite having extended Timo Werner’s stay, they seek more quality out wide on the flanks.

Wolverhampton Wanderers Pedro Neto is one of the names on their wishlist. While the Portuguese international has talked about being happy at his current club, Arsenal and Spurs are both keen on signing him. According to a report from CaughtOffside, Tottenham officials have already held talks with those close to the player to discuss a potential move this summer.

Ange Postecoglou is keen on having more firepower in the final third of the pitch and he believes Neto can be a very useful addition to his team. While he prefers playing out wide on the right, the 24-year-old can also feature on the opposite flank or as a ten. They have met his inner circle to learn more about a potential transfer. But, signing him won’t be easy as Spurs will have to battle their arch-rivals Arsenal.

The Gunners have their eyes on him as they look to bring in someone who can cover for Bukayo Saka. While he might fit the profile, Neto is unlikely to accept a backup role. Meanwhile, Wolves are in no rush to sell their star as his future is well secured with a deal that runs until 2027. However, an offer of around £55 to £60 million will surely make them think twice.

Tottenham target Federico Chiesa looks all set to leave Juventus before the end of the window.

Chiesa’s future has been up in the air for some time now. The Italian international’s contract at Juventus runs out in 12 months and he has no intentions of extending his stay. As a result, the Old Lady are looking to cash in on him as they do not want to risk losing on their star winger for free next summer.

According to Tuttosport via Calciomercato, Federico Chiesa, who is on Tottenham’s wishlist, is nearing an exit. New shirts with his name are missing from the Juventus club store, potentially hinting towards a potential departure.

Chiesa had an exceptional start to life in Turin but injuries haven’t allowed him to showcase his best version. He has struggled for form and a move away could help him revive his career. The North London club seem quite interested in his services as they look to bolster their attack.

Tottenham are looking to add more quality on the flanks and Chiesa could be a perfect fit for them as he can play anywhere in attack. His agent has already held talks with the Premier League outfit, as a result, it will be interesting to see how things progress.

Meanwhile, his absence from the friendly game against Brest could hint at his fate, and the omission of Chiesa’s name from the pre-set options for new shirts at the Juventus store fuels further speculation about his potential exit.

Recent reports linking Tottenham Hotspur with a potential move for Manchester City’s right-back Issa Kabore have been refuted by transfer insider Paul O’Keefe.

Speculation had indicated that Kabore was a top candidate to join Spurs if Emerson Royal were to depart this summer.

The 23-year-old Burkina Faso international, valued at approximately £12 million, made a significant impression during his loan spell at Luton Town, attracting interest from several clubs, including the Lilywhites.

However, O’Keefe addressed these rumours on his X handle, simply replying “No” to a tweet suggesting Tottenham’s interest in Kabore.

Nope.

— Paul O Keefe (@pokeefe1) August 2, 2024

He further clarified that Spurs already have ample options at right-back, with Pedro Porro and Djed Spence, and even Archie Gray capable of covering the position if needed.

When a fan inquired about the likelihood of Djed Spence being Porro’s backup, O’Keefe affirmed that Spence is currently the most probable candidate for that role.

This indicates that the Lilywhites are not actively seeking another right-back and are instead focusing on other areas requiring reinforcement.

Mike McGrath of The Telegraph had previously identified Kabore as a leading candidate for Tottenham.

Still, O’Keefe’s dismissal of these reports implies that the club is content with its existing defensive options.

As Tottenham continue to navigate the transfer window, it is evident they are prioritising other positions over right-back.

Fans and analysts will be closely monitoring the club’s actions to see how they address more pressing needs to strengthen the squad for the upcoming season.

Tottenham Hotspur will not be pushing for the signature of Juventus attacker Federico Chiesa.

Chiesa’s future has been the talk of the town for some time now. The Italian international is expected to be on the move this summer with his contract at Juventus running out. While he has been linked with a move to Tottenham on quite a few occasions.

According to a report from Football Insider, the North London club have decided to halt any pursuit of the services of the Fiorentina graduate.

Tottenham might have added Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall to their ranks but there is still a lot of work to be done. They want to bolster their attack and signing a world-class forward before the end of the transfer window is one of their priorities.

Spurs have been linked with Chiesa who has entered the final year of his contract at Juventus. But, the report suggests he is not a part of Tottenham’s transfer list.

The Old Lady want him around but they are not willing to meet his demands. As a result, they are ready to sanction his departure for £25 million. While the winger is available for a cut-price fee, Tottenham are unlikely to follow up on their interest as they have decided to pull the plug on any potential move for the Italian international.

Chiesa is looking for a massive £8millon-a-year in wages and it could be one of the major stumbling blocks for interested clubs. While Tottenham still seek attacking reinforcement, their priority is to have a new number nine lead their line. Ange Postecoglou’s team want a Harry Kane replacement after having used Son Heung-min out of position last season.

Fiorentina are preparing an offer for the services of Tottenham attacking sensation Alejo Veliz.

The North London club are expected to be quite busy in the final few weeks of the transfer window. While they are expected to make some big-name signings before the end of the window, quite a few of their players will also be on the move. According to Rudy Galetti, Alejo Veliz is on the wishlist of Italian club Fiorentina and they could soon knock on Tottenham’s door with an offer.

Veliz came up the ranks at Rosario Central and made quite a name for himself while playing for their first team before securing a move to Spurs last summer. While he was around for the first half of the season, Tottenham sent him out on loan to Sevilla for the second half. Unfortunately, the loan spell didn’t really go according to plan as he only made six substitute appearances.

While the 20-year-old Argentine striker is back at his parent club, he is unlikely to get much game time at Spurs and there is interest in his services from Fiorentina. The Italian club wants to add more firepower to their attack and they feel Veliz could be an ideal fit for their system. They are preparing to send an offer to Tottenham for the Argentine youth international and Galetti believes there could be major developments in this story in the coming days.

While Spurs consider Veliz to be a part of their long-term plans, they are reportedly open to another loan move in order to ensure he gets enough minutes to continue his development.

O’Hara singles out Tottenham player with criticism; says he is “not clever enough” for Ange ball

Richarlison has been linked with a move away this summer.

Tottenham are reportedly keen to sell him if they receive a good offer and replace him with a top class number 9.

The Brazilian striker has recently faced criticism from former Spurs player Jamie O’Hara, who voiced his concerns on talkSPORT about Richarlison’s ability to thrive under Ange Postecoglou’s system.

Richarlison, who joined Tottenham from Everton for €58 million in July 2022, has struggled to meet expectations. In his 66 appearances for the club, he has scored only 15 goals and provided eight assists, which has not matched the high hopes set for him.

His tenure at Spurs has been plagued by injuries and inconsistent form, leading to increasing calls for his departure.

O’Hara highlighted that Richarlison lacks the intelligence and awareness needed in the final third to be a key player for the Lilywhites.

Despite his ability to score, the forward’s link-up play often falters, disrupting the team’s attacking flow.

The former English midfielder hopes Postecoglou has addressed these issues with Richarlison, emphasising the need for the striker to improve if he wants to play a central role in the team.

O’Hara said:

“The problem with Richarlison is he knows where the net is, but his link-up play comes off him too much.

“You know, when it goes into little one-twos and around the box, he is not clever enough.

“And that, for me, he has got to work on and I am hoping Ange has gone into him and has been like, look we need to step up if you are going to play number 9 for us, if you are to be that player.”

Despite having a contract that runs until June 2027, Tottenham are open to offers for the Brazilian striker.

The club aims to bring in a new forward to bolster their attacking options and enhance their prospects for the upcoming season.

Richarlison’s future in North London remains uncertain, but the club’s intent to find a replacement suggests a potential shift in their attacking strategy.
