Tottenham Hotspur are on the verge of completing a transfer deal for defender Emerson Royal.

Sources from Football Insider indicate that the club is close to agreeing on a deal with AC Milan that could reach up to £20 million, including add-ons.

Senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke mentioned on the Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast that talks between Spurs and Milan are progressing well.

The proposed deal is expected to involve an initial fee of £15 million, potentially rising to £20 million with performance-related bonuses.

Emerson has reportedly agreed to personal terms with AC Milan, which includes a five-year contract worth €3 million annually.

The Brazilian international, who joined Tottenham from Barcelona in the summer of 2021, has found it challenging to secure a consistent starting role under manager Ange Postecoglou.

With two years left on his current contract, Emerson made only 11 Premier League starts last season, underlining his position as a secondary option within the squad.

Tottenham’s decision to sell Emerson is part of a strategy to streamline their squad and reinvest in key areas ahead of the new season. Emerson’s move to AC Milan offers him a chance to gain regular playing time and rejuvenate his career in Serie A.

As the transfer window deadline nears, Spurs aims to finalise the deal swiftly, allowing them to concentrate on strengthening their squad and achieving their objectives for the upcoming campaign.

Fans are eagerly watching as negotiations approach their final stages, anticipating the official confirmation of Emerson’s departure from the club.

Tottenham Hotspur’s efforts to sign Federico Chiesa are facing a significant hurdle as the Juventus winger is determined to join a club playing in next season’s Champions League.

Chiesa, currently in the final year of his contract with Juventus, has made it clear that he prefers a move to a club competing in Europe’s top-tier tournament, complicating Spurs’ chances of bringing him to North London.

According to GiveMeSport, Chiesa’s strong desire for Champions League football poses a major challenge for Tottenham.

Last season, the Lilywhites fell short of qualifying for the Champions League by just two points, earning a spot in the Europa League instead.

This lack of Champions League qualification could heavily influence Chiesa’s decision, as he seeks to play at the highest level in Europe.

The 26-year-old Italian international displayed his considerable talent in Serie A last season, scoring nine goals and providing three assists in 33 appearances, despite facing minor injuries.

His impressive performances have attracted interest from several Premier League clubs, including Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspur.

Among these clubs, only Arsenal will be in the Champions League next season, potentially giving them an advantage in securing Chiesa’s signature.

Juventus are also ready to offer Chiesa a new contract if he does not move this summer as he has entered the final year of his deal, further complicating Spurs’ pursuit.

Manager Ange Postecoglou and Tottenham will need to carefully consider their options as they look to bolster their attacking ranks for the upcoming season.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has heaped praise on Djed Spence for his performances during the pre-season.

The 23-year-old defender was on loan at Leeds United and Genoa last season and he has returned to his parent club now. The defender has been very impressive for Spurs in the pre-season and Postecoglou has hinted that he might get handed a lifeline at the club.

It will be interesting to see if Spurs are prepared to keep him at the club beyond this summer.

“I think with Djed, for me we got him back into pre-season and we’re judging him on his merits. He’s a Tottenham player. To be fair to him, I think he’s been very, very good for us this pre-season, in terms of the way he’s trained and his general attitude,” said the Spurs boss to Football London.

“I think there’s an opportunity for him here, for sure. Thinking about building a squad, he would be definitely somebody who could [contribute] with the attributes he has. I thought last year there was a chance but it didn’t quite work out. For those kind of things, I think sometimes players really wait for direction when they can really take control of their own direction.”

Spence will want to play regularly at this stage of his career and it will be interesting to see if Tottenham are prepared to provide him with that opportunity. They will need to provide him with gametime assurance in order to keep him at the club.

Tottenham will be competing in the UEFA Europa League next season and they need a deeper squad to do well across multiple competitions. Keeping the 23-year-old at the club could prove to be a wise decision. There is no doubt that he is a quality player with a bright future. He has the potential to improve further. Throwing him a lifeline could prove to be a masterstroke in the long-term.

Tottenham have initiate contact with Dominic Solanke’s camp over a move this summer.

Spurs are in need of bolstering their attack and want to sign a new 9 this transfer window.

They have been linked with several names including the Bournemouth man who Ange Postecoglou is said to be a huge admirer of.

As per the latest report from TeamTalk, Solanke is Tottenham’s top pick for the striker position and have made contact with his agent regarding a move.

The report adds that the player is very keen on a move to Spurs.

Solanke has a £65m release clause in his contract but Spurs are hopeful that they can work around that and strike a deal with Bournemouth.

Dominic Solanke had an impressive season, finishing as the joint-fourth top scorer in the Premier League alongside Phil Foden and Ollie Watkins.

He scored 19 goals and provided 3 assists in 38 league appearances. Overall, he has 29 goals and 13 assists in 134 Premier League appearances, showcasing his experience and reliability as a goal scorer. (Transfermarkt)

Solanke’s English top-flight experience would be valuable for Tottenham, providing a dependable goal scorer for Postecoglou’s side.

As Spurs aim to compete for the Premier League title next season, adding a proven striker like Solanke could significantly bolster their attacking options.

Tottenham Hotspur remain interested in the services of Chelsea star Conor Gallagher who seeks Champions League football.

The North London club have a long-standing interest in the services of Conor Gallagher. They have been linked with him since the start of the transfer window and while we are heading into the final weeks, Tottenham are still keen on signing the Chelsea academy graduate but according to a report from talkSPORT, Gallagher is keen on playing Champions League football which makes things complicated by Spurs.

The 24-year-old was one of the standout performers for Chelsea last season. He was involved in 37 out of their 38 league games and ended the season with 16 goal contributions (7 goals, 9 assists) across competitions. Despite his heroics, he might not have a future at Stamford Bridge as they are ready to cash in on him with his contract running out in 12 months.

Chelsea were initially looking to raise around £50 million from his sale but with the player rejecting a second renewal offer on Wednesday, their demands have gone down significantly. They have accepted a £33 million bid (package worth £37.9 million) from Atletico Madrid who will now look to convince the player about a move to Madrid. But, it is not going to be easy as he has already turned down an opportunity to play for Aston Villa.

Since the player hasn’t given the green light to the move, Tottenham are still in the mix as people at the club consider him an ideal fit for Ange Postecoglou’s system. With Pierre-Emile Højbjerg no longer at the club, Gallagher could just be the perfect signing for them. But, they do have a major roadblock as the player is reluctant to join a rival club and is keen on playing in the Champions League. Atletico Madrid could be an ideal destination for the 24-year-old but they are yet to hold talks with the player and Spurs need to hurry if they do not want to miss out on him.

Tottenham are keen on signing Scott McTominay as they look to reinforce their midfield this summer.

Scott McTominay’s future at Manchester United looks quite uncertain. The Scottish international is expected to be on the move this summer and there is significant interest in his services from clubs in the Premier League.

According to Duncan Castles via The Transfers Podcast, Tottenham have entered the race for the services of the United academy graduate.

The North London club might have added two exceptionally talented midfielders Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall to their squad. But, they are still on the lookout for more experienced campaigners who could help strengthen their midfield. With Pierre-Emile Højbjerg no longer at the club and Giovani Lo Celso’s future uncertain, they do need to have more quality as well as depth and they have been keeping a close eye on McTominay’s situation at Old Trafford.

The 27-year-old did have an impressive campaign last time out as he scored 10 goals and bagged three assists in his 43 outings. His versatility was of great help to Erik ten Hag. But, it seems the United academy graduate is not a part of the Dutch manager’s plans moving ahead. With his contract running out in 12 months, United are ready to cash in on him.

The Red Devils have already rejected an offer from Fulham who have returned with an improved bid of around £20 million but United are holding out for £40 million.

Tottenham have entered the race for his signature as they feel he could add a lot of quality to their midfield. More importantly, his versatility could give Ange Postecoglou a lot of tactical options.

However, it will be interesting to see if McTominay is keen on a move to Spurs. One thing is certain, the North London club will try their best to lower United’s demands with just a year left on the player’s contract.

Tottenham consider Fiorentina defensive sensation Michael Kayode to be an ideal replacement for Emerson Royal.

Emerson Royal has fallen down the pecking order at Tottenham since the arrival of Ange Postecoglou. AC Milan have been in talks with Spurs to sign the Brazilian right-back and if things go according to plan, the South American ace should seen playing for the Italian giants next season.

According to a report from Firenzeviola, the North London club are looking at Michael Kayode as the perfect replacement for the outgoing Emerson. While they do have Pedro Porro in their squad and Archie Gray could also feature at right-back, Spurs need quality as well as depth and they feel the Fiorentina sensation could be a great signing for the long run.

Kayode has had an exceptional rise at the Italian club, he was promoted to their first team last summer and in his debut campaign, he was involved in 37 matches and even contributed towards five goals. He surely got a lot of opportunities last season but is expected to start the 2024/25 campaign behind Dodo in the pecking order.

While he still has four years left on his contract, multiple top clubs are looking to prise him away from Fiorentina who value him at around €30 million. They could lower their asking price just a touch with a month left on the window as they haven’t made any major sales this summer.

There is significant interest in him from Tottenham who have been looking at the Serie A on a regular basis to strengthen their team. They want a replacement for Emerson Royal who is all set to join AC Milan and feel Kayode is the right fit for them. But, they haven’t made a move yet and so far, there is only appreciation from Spurs. While Fiorentina wants keep hold of the 20-year-old, they are unlikely to block a move away as they do need to raise funds.

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly close to securing a significant investment deal, with chairman Daniel Levy in talks to sell a minority stake in the club.

Former Everton CEO Keith Wyness has suggested that Spurs might sell around 10-15% of the club to a minority investor, which could value the club at up to £3.75 billion.

Wyness discussed this on the Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, noting that the valuation is reasonable given Tottenham’s assets, particularly their new state-of-the-art stadium.

The 66-year-old executive praised Levy’s exceptional negotiation skills, highlighting his success in consistently securing high valuations for sponsorships and player sales.

The proposed deal is not a full takeover but seeks a minority investor to bolster the club’s financial and operational objectives.

Amanda Staveley, a former board member at Newcastle United, has emerged as a potential investor.

Staveley was instrumental in the Saudi consortium’s takeover of Newcastle in October 2021. She left her role as the club’s director in July and has since then said to be raising funds for investment in another football club.

Wyness emphasised that Tottenham presents a promising investment opportunity for Staveley, given her experience and the club’s robust infrastructure.

Wyness said (via Football Insider):

“I think it is a realistic valuation, given the stadium. Daniel Levy has been known over the years as one of the best negotiators, always pushing for the highest valuations – whether that’s sponsorships or player sales.”

“He’s a good operator and £3.75billion is not far away. I can see how that can happen.

“I’ve also read today that Newcastle are valued at £1billion, when it seems like yesterday they were bought from Mike Ashley for £300million.

“It’s interesting to watch. What they’re really after is a minority investor, not a full takeover for the full amount. They want someone to take around 10-15%.”

Bringing in a minority investor could provide the necessary resources to boost the club’s competitiveness both domestically and in Europe, aligning with Spurs’ long-term goals.

Tottenham’s pre-season has been marked by standout performances from their young talents, including Mikey Moore, Will Lankshear, and Jamie Donley.

These promising players have seamlessly integrated into the first team, showcasing their potential alongside senior squad members.

However, James Maddison has come under scrutiny for his reluctance to pass to his younger teammates.

Alasdair Gold, a reputable journalist and Tottenham correspondent for Football London, has cited multiple incidents he observed where Maddison appeared to ‘frustratingly‘ avoid passing to the younger players during their friendly against the K League All Stars.

Maddison, who joined Tottenham last summer, had a bright start with three goals and five assists in his first nine appearances.

Unfortunately, an ankle injury hampered his momentum, and he has struggled to regain his early form since returning.

His dip in form also impacted his international career, leading to his omission from England’s final Euro 2024 squad.

Manager Ange Postecoglou will need to address these issues as Tottenham prepares for the new season. Maddison’s form and his ability to integrate with the younger players are crucial for Spurs’ success.

The Lilywhites recently bolstered the squad with the additions of teenage talents Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray, who are expected to be regular contributors next season along with another academy star Mikey Moore, who is being tipped to feature regularly for the first team next season as well.

Tottenham Hotspur are actively seeking to strengthen their attacking ranks this summer under manager Ange Postecoglou, with Federico Chiesa emerging one of the players they keep getting linked with.

According to transfer insider Dean Jones, Spurs have shown interest in the Juventus star, who has also attracted attention from several Premier League clubs.

Jones reported that the Lilywhites have been monitoring Chiesa’s availability, highlighting the player’s versatility as an ideal fit for Tottenham’s offensive needs.

He noted that Chiesa has been offered to various Premier League clubs, and Spurs have expressed some interest in securing his services.

Given the potential costs of signing other targets like Pedro Neto or Eberechi Eze, Chiesa could be a more economical option for the Lilywhites, considering his relatively low transfer fee.

Speaking on the Ranks FC Podcast, Jones said:

“I was quite excited for Spurs in the sense of tracking Chiesa’s availability.

“The versatility of Chiesa would be ideal for that team. I actually had it played up to me last week the transfer and the prospect of it. Chiesa has been offered all around the Premier League and Tottenham, I was told, had a bit of a nibble on that. When you consider what they’d have to pay for Neto or Eze, Chiesa would be cheaper than that.”

The 26-year-old winger is in the final year of his contract with Juventus, which expires next June.

Despite suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury during the 2021-22 season that sidelined him for seven months, Chiesa made a commendable comeback.

Last season, he scored nine goals and provided three assists in 33 Serie A appearances, showcasing his ability to perform at a high level after recovering from a major injury.

Despite Chiesa’s impressive credentials and the financial beauty of the deal, Tottenham appears hesitant to proceed with the transfer. The club continues to evaluate its options to ensure it makes decisions aligned with its long-term goals.

As the transfer window progresses, Spurs supporters will be watching to see if the club decides to pursue Chiesa or opts for other targets to strengthen their attack for the upcoming season.
