Tottenham Hotspur are interested in the services of Brazilian full-back Vanderson.

The North London club are expected to make quite a few changes to their squad in the ongoing transfer window. They will look to add more quality to help Ange Postecoglou’s side take the next step after he helped them secure Europa League football last time out.

Tottenham want to strengthen their back line and according to Fabrizio Romano, they ‘appreciate’ AS Monaco sensation Vanderson. They are interested in acquiring his services ahead of next season.

The Brazilian international made the move to the French club in the winter of 2022 and hasn’t looked back since. While he did struggle with injuries during the 2023/24 campaign, the 22-year-old did showcase his abilities in his 23 outings with four-goal contributions.

His impressive rise has caught the attention of the North London club and they are considering making a move for him. However, they will only go ahead with it if Emerson Royal does end up leaving the club. The former Barcelona full-back is not in the plans of Postecoglou and Spurs are ready to sanction his departure.

He is expected to be on the move with AC Milan being his preferred destination. While Tottenham do consider Vanderson to be an ideal fit for their team going forward, signing him will not be an easy task for them.

The player still has four years left on his deal and Monaco want more than €40 million to part ways with him. The North London club do have other options just in case they fail to strike a deal with the French outfit.

Tottenham Hotspur signed Radu Dragusin from Genoa during the January transfer window.

The 22-year-old was expected to come in and improve Spurs defensively. However, he has barely featured for them during the second half of the season. It seems that the Romanian international is yet to win over the manager.

Ange Postecoglou has handed him just four starts in all competitions. Dragusin will be hoping to play a lot more in the upcoming season and his performances in the European championship could prove to be vital when it comes to convincing the manager of his qualities.

Dragusin seemed commanding throughout the game and he dealt with any potential danger with calmness and composure.

The Tottenham defender showed great physicality throughout the game as well. BBC pundit Danny Murphy has now heaped praise on the talented young defender and claimed that he could be an important player for Tottenham and the fans will be pleased to see his performance today.

Murphy added that the Romanian international is perfect for the Premier League because of his physicality and intensity. It will be interesting to see if he can hold down a regular starting spot at the North London club next season. There is no doubt that he is a tremendous talent with a bright future and he needs more opportunities.

Tottenham midfielder Giovani Lo Celso continues to be linked with a move away from the club this summer.

According to a report from Estádio Deportivo, Real Betis are keen on signing the 28-year-old attacking midfielder and they have held ‘informal contacts’ with the player’s agents. It will be interesting to see if they make contact with the North London club now.

Lo Celso is reportedly keen on the move. He is not a key starter for Tottenham and it would make sense for all parties to move on. Tottenham will be hoping to cash in on him and invest the proceeds from his departure on a new player.

Meanwhile, he has played for Real Betis in the past and he was a key performer for them. The opportunity to return to his former club will be an exciting option for the player as well.

The Argentine international was reportedly keen on a return to the Spanish club last summer, but Real Betis were not able to afford his wages. It seems that the Spanish outfit are now looking to get rid of William Carvalho and Nabil Fekir to lower their wage bill. It would allow them to sign the versatile midfielder this summer.

Lo Celso needs to play regularly at this stage of his career and Tottenham will not be able to provide him with that opportunity. Returning to La Liga would be ideal for the South American as well.

Furthermore, he has a contract with the North London club until 2025, and this is Tottenham’s final opportunity to cash in on him. They will not want to lose out on a free transfer, and therefore it makes sense for them to sell the player for a reasonable price this summer.

This summer was certainly set up to be a pivotal one for Tottenham.

Eze has gone from strength to strength since making the move to Crystal Palace in the summer of 2020. The attacking midfielder scored 11 goals and also bagged six assists in his 31 outings last season. On the back of his impressive performances, Gareth Southgate has included him in the England squad for the Euros.

While the player is currently focused on the continental tournament, his future has become a big talking point. There is interest from multiple top clubs and Tottenham are one of them.

Signing Eze could improve Spurs immensely and he could compete with James Maddison for a place in the starting XI. Eze can feature as an attacking midfielder as well as on the flanks if needed. More importantly, the 25-year-old will add goals as well as creativity to the side.

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur has publicly apologised to his captain, Heung-min Son, following a racist joke made during an interview.

The controversy arose when Bentancur, speaking with a TV channel in Uruguay, responded to a request for Son’s kit by saying, “maybe from his cousin” because “they all look the same.”

This comment, which perpetuated the harmful stereotype that Asian people are indistinguishable from one another, quickly ignited outrage among fans and the broader football community.

The backlash was swift, with Bentancur widely criticised for his inappropriate comments.

Football London’s Alasdair Gold also condemned the joke on his X handle, describing it as a “dreadful attempt at humour” that was inappropriate and offensive.

Gold pointed out that Bentancur’s remark had upset many people and stressed that such behaviour is unacceptable, specially from a teammate.

In light of the criticism, Bentancur took to Instagram to issue a heartfelt apology. In his post, the Uruguayan midfielder expressed deep regret for his actions, saying:

“Sony brother! I apologise to you for what happened, it was just a very bad joke! You know that I love you and I would never disrespect you or hurt you or anyone else! I love you brother!”

Tottenham Hotspur recently released eight players from their senior and youth squads as their contracts came to an end.
