New: Tottenham accelerate talks after “concrete and strategic” interest in £50-60m-rated star - The Boy Hotspur
Description

Tottenham Hotspur are making a decisive late-window move for Lucas Paquetá, identifying the Brazilian midfielder as a key solution to their midfield crisis.

After losing Eberechi Eze to Arsenal and facing uncertainty over James Maddison’s fitness, Spurs have accelerated talks with West Ham United to secure Paquetá’s signature.

Sources close to the negotiations have confirmed to TheBoyHotspur that Tottenham are considering multiple deal structures, including a direct cash offer and a performance-incentivised package.

In a surprising twist, discussions have also touched on a potential swap deal involving Yves Bissouma. While West Ham and Tottenham previously maintained an informal non-transfer pact, Spurs’ acquisition of Mohammed Kudus earlier this summer already breached that understanding, opening the door for further business.

Tottenham very keen on Lucas Paqueta

Tottenham’s interest is described as “concrete and strategic”, with internal confidence that Paquetá’s recent clearance from betting allegations and his strong form, with two goals in three matches, make him a viable and immediate upgrade. However, West Ham remain firm on their £50–60 million valuation and are reluctant to lose another star to a direct rival.

With just days left in the window, Spurs are pushing hard to finalise the deal, aware that competition from Aston Villa and Crystal Palace could complicate the race. But within Tottenham’s camp, Paquetá is seen not just as a transfer target, but as a statement signing.

Spurs could use Paqueta

It is no secret that Tottenham need more quality and depth in the middle of the park, and the Brazilian could be the ideal fit. He is playing his best football right now, and he is well settled in the Premier League. He could make an instant impact at the North London club.

Joining Tottenham would allow him to fight for trophies and compete in the UEFA Champions League as well.

One chilling stat was revealed after today’s game + player ratings - The Boy Hotspur
Description

Another loss ahead of an international break, but should Spurs fans simply take it in their stride? After all, isn’t the game about winning and losing?

Perhaps, but surely the fact that we’ve now failed to win a single game played before the international break since 2015. That’s a decade of players with their heads in their suitcases. Surely a pattern that needs to be broken.

#Tottenham are winless in every game played before the international break since 2015.

A frustrating day for fans, who would have been enthusiastic after emphatically beating both Burnley and Manchester City in our opening two games.

Vicario didn’t do too much wrong, beyond conceding one goal and making one error, which led to a shot. Unreliable with long passes, just 8 out of 17 found men in Tottenham shirts.

Porro had a notably hectic day of it, with his passing accuracy of a pathetic 55% underlined. Hooked with 20 minutes to go, Udogie was a much-improved replacement.

Romero was his usual self, although he often seemed to be struggling to maintain much in the way of a sense of urgency at times. Micky van de Ven also struggled with long-ball accuracy; only 3 of the 8 went to a teammate, adding to which the Bournemouth press caused him to lose possession on 11 occasions.

Djed Spence didn’t have a terrible game, but perhaps, like too many Spurs players today, he wasn’t quite at the races, despite his single key pass; he struggled with his passing and dribbling.

Bentancur faded as the game went on, but his 91% passing accuracy was superb. Paulinho was hooked in the 54th minute, as he went the way of far too many Spurs players today, and notably underperformed. Spurs’ big sweeper had long ball problems, his dribbling was imperfect, and he lost possession 8 times.

Sarr was also off the boil, and those previously crowing over his prowess were probably a little less vocal after this performance.

Superstar Kudus was another one who struggled to shine. Just th one key pass, but nothing to raise our woeful team xG ratio of 0.17.

Richarlison was back to his old erratic ways, with just a 42% passing accuracy and not a single shot on target in 90n minutes of play. Johnson’s 54 minutes were unremarkable.

Why Spurs have become unable to win a game, before flying off to play for their country for an international break, is a massive concern, and not to be ignored.

The arranged protest by the Change For Tottenham gang (a subscription-free version of the Tottenham Hotspur Supporters’ Trust) is in for a blow this afternoon, as the bookmakers have Spurs as narrow favourites, and new signing Xavi Simons is tipped to be presented during the pre-match shenanigans.

Those seeking to tap into a mood of discontent will most likely find themselves talking to fellow protestors. One can only wonder how hard Levy will have to suppress his smirk as they all file in and spend their pocket money afterwards.

“I can’t believe..”: Why Tottenham signing has left former Premier League star shocked - The Boy Hotspur
Description

Tottenham Hotspur completed the signing of the Portuguese International midfielder Joao Palhinha earlier this summer.

They signed the midfielder on loan from German champions Bayern Munich. Meanwhile, former Manchester City defender Micah Richards has now revealed his surprise at the transfer.

Richards was surprised that the German champions have allowed the player to leave on loan.

Palhinha was outstanding for Fulham in the Premier League before his move to Germany, but he never quite managed to hit those levels in the Bundesliga. It is no surprise that Bayern Munich have decided to send him out on loan.

Joao Palhinha move is ideal for Spurs

“I can’t believe Bayern let him go, to be honest. They’ve got a young boy at Bayern called Pavlovic at Bayern. So I understand why a really good player plays a similar position, could play a bit further forward as well,” Richards said on The Rest is Football podcast.

“But it didn’t work for him at Bayern Munich.”

The Portuguese international will look to get back to his best once again. He has done reasonably well for Tottenham in the first two matches of the season.

The transfer could look like a major bargain in the long run if he continues to perform the way he has.

Spurs needed Palhinha

There is no doubt that he is a top player, and he has the qualities to help Tottenham improve. Tottenham need more physicality and defensive cover in the midfield, and the Portuguese International certainly fits the profile. He knows the league well, and he has settled in quickly.

With the World Cup coming up next year, he will look to get back to his best. Regular football at the London club will be ideal for him. The move could prove to be a masterstroke for all parties.

It will be interesting to see if Tottenham decide to sign him permanently in the summer.

Tottenham “preparing a bid” for 25-year-old, leading chase for “priceless” star - The Boy Hotspur
Description

Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Conor Gallagher from Atletico Madrid.

The 25-year-old has been linked with a return to the Premier League, and Tottenham are leading the chase for his signature. Multiple other clubs are keen on the England International, and it will be interesting to see if Tottenham can get the deal done.

Spurs readying Conor Gallagher bid

According to a report from CaughtOffside, Tottenham are now “preparing a bid” for the player. They could offer around £35-40 million for the midfielder. He has played in the Premier League before, and he has shown his quality in the top flight. He could come in and make an instant impact at Tottenham. They need someone like him who will add physicality, defensive cover, and work rate to the side.

The opportunity to return to England could be quite exciting for the player as well. Spurs will be able to provide him with regular gametime and the platform to showcase his qualities in the UEFA Champions League. If they can sign him for a fee of around £35-40 million, it could be an excellent investment.

Spurs could use Gallagher

The midfielder is still very much at the peak of his career, and he will look to fight for trophies with the North London club. If the move goes true. He is a quality player who has been labelled as “priceless” by former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Tottenham have a quality squad at their disposal, but they need more depth if they want to do well across multiple competitions. They have started the season well, and a couple of quality additions before the window closes could help them have a successful campaign. They have recently won a European trophy, and they will look to build on it.

Signing the right players will be top priority for them.

Tottenham initiate late move to sign 30-year-old “intelligent” Premier League star - The Boy Hotspur
Description

Tottenham Hotspur are plotting a late move for the Manchester City defender Manuel Akanji.

The 30-year-old has been linked with a move away from Manchester City, owing to the lack of time. He needs to play more often at this stage of his career, and Tottenham might be able to provide him with that opportunity. According to Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham have made their approach, and it remains to be seen whether they can get the deal done.

Tottenham could use Manuel Akanji

The player has shown his quality in the Premier League over the years, and he has been labelled as an “intelligent” defender by Pep Guardiola.

There is no doubt that he has the quality to thrive at Tottenham, and it will be interesting to see if the north London club can get the deal done. They will face competition from AC Milan as well.

The Swiss international is certainly good enough to play regularly in the Premier League, and he could be an asset for Tottenham. He might be available for a reasonable amount of money, and it could be a deal worth doing. Tottenham need more quality and depth in the squad, especially now that they are in the UEFA Champions League.

Akanji could help Spurs improve

The 30-year-old has the quality and the experience to help them improve, and it remains to be seen whether Tottenham can convince him to join the club. The Swiss International could be tempted to join them. It would allow him to continue in the Premier League and compete at a high level.

Beating AC Milan to his signature should not be too difficult for Tottenham, especially if they are willing to provide him with ample game time. They have the resources to get the deal across the line.
