Crystal Palace attacking midfielder Eberechi Eze has been linked with a move away from the club in recent months, and Tottenham Hotspur are keeping tabs on him.

According to former Tottenham scout Mick Brown, the London club could make a move for the 26-year-old in the near future. Spurs could certainly use more quality and depth in the midfield, and the Englishman could prove to be a quality acquisition. He will add creativity, technical ability and vision in the final third. He will help Tottenham create goal-scoring opportunities and open up deep defences. He has been described as an ‘unbelievable finisher’ by Oliver Glasner as well.

Brown claims that Eze could be an alternative to Son Heung-min. The South Korean is in the twilight stages of his career and Tottenham need to start planning for a future after him. The Crystal Palace star could prove to be the ideal acquisition for them. He is at the peak of his powers and he could transform Tottenham in the attack.

“I know he’s one Tottenham have been looking at for a while,” he told Football Insider.

“Eze is very talented and he’d be a good fit for Tottenham under Postecoglou.

“Crystal Palace don’t want to lose him, though, he’s still a very important part of their side.

“I think they’re going to prioritise strengthening defensively with players at the back and in midfield before they focus on attacking talents.

“Then, when they’ve addressed those issues, I expect Eze will be a player they make a move for.

“There are doubts about Son at the moment, so I think they view Eze as potentially somebody who could give them something they’re missing.”

Eberechi Eze will be an expensive addition

The Crystal Palace star is unlikely to be a cheap acquisition and he could cost a premium. The Eagles are likely to demand a substantial amount of money for him. Tottenham will need to strengthen the other areas of their squad as well, and it will be interesting to see if they are prepared to pay big money for the Premier League midfielder.

Spurs delivered a spirited performance against Manchester City but ultimately suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Coming into the fixture on the back of three consecutive Premier League victories, Spurs aimed to extend their winning streak but struggled to convert their chances. An early goal from Erling Haaland proved to be the difference, securing all three points for City.

Despite the result, one of the most notable aspects of the game was the impressive display by young midfielder Lucas Bergvall, who earned significant praise from City manager Pep Guardiola.

Pep Guardiola praises Lucas Bergvall

Guardiola highlighted the Swedish teenager’s impact, describing him as “unstoppable” when carrying the ball forward. The City boss acknowledged Tottenham’s high intensity and sharp attacking play, emphasizing Bergvall’s composure and control in midfield.

He also pointed out that Spurs remained highly competitive despite missing key defensive figures like Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven, which made the encounter even more demanding for his side.

In his post-match interview, Guardiola said (as quoted by Express):

“The pace of this team? Pfft, it is difficult. Maybe Liverpool [are better], but Bergvall, every time he has the ball and run, unstoppable. Spence and Pedro Porro, Udogie, [Dejan] Kulusevski, Son [Heung-min], an incredible physical team with a clear idea to play.

“They play really good and they play without [Cristian] Romero and [Micky] Van de Ven, two of maybe the best central defenders in the league. The game, it was open second half because we didn’t close the first.”

Bergvall’s performance against the defending champions underlined his growing influence in the squad. The 19-year-old was heavily involved in the game, registering 73 touches, completing 47 of 54 passes with an impressive 87% accuracy, and successfully delivering 3 out of 4 long balls. On the defensive end, he recorded seven key actions, made four ball recoveries, and won eight duels, showcasing his all-around capabilities in the midfield. (FotMob)

Since arriving in North London, Bergvall has made a strong impression in his debut season. Featuring in 34 matches across all competitions, he has contributed a goal and three assists while proving himself to be a vital component of Ange Postecoglou’s tactical setup.

Although Tottenham were unable to secure a result, Guardiola’s admiration for Bergvall highlights the midfielder’s immense potential.

Tottenham and Bayern Munich have had several transfers among them in the last few windows and there could be yet another one.

Spurs sold club legend Harry Kane to Bayern Munich in the summer of 2023 in a big-money transfer, which was followed by the loan transfer of Eric Dier in the January window before the player joined them on a permanent deal last summer for free following the end of his contract with Spurs.

Meanwhile, this January window saw highly-rated Bayern Munich striker Mathys Tel join Spurs on a loan move as the club scrambled for a late transfer following their injury crisis in attack.

Tottenham star Heung-min Son considering move to Bayern

And now, Tottenham skipper Heung-min Son has been linked with a move to the German side. According to a report from Spanish outlet Fichajes, the South Korean is considering a move to the Allianz Arena.

The Bavarian side are looking to further strengthen their attack for next season, and the 32-year-old’s profile is said to fit perfectly with the club’s playing philosophy.

The report claims that while Son remains a key part of Ange Postecoglou’s side, the lack of trophies and ambition could lead the player to make a decision to leave this summer.

It further adds that the final decision will depend on the player himself and on negotiations between the two clubs. It is said that ‘the next few weeks will be key’ to defining his future at the club.

Saudis are also interested in signing Son

Bayern are not the only option for Son, with Saudi Pro League sides also showing strong interest in signing him.

It has been previously claimed by former Spurs scout Bryan King that the player could be tempted by a lucrative offer from Saudi clubs, with reports suggesting that Saudi heavyweights Al Ittihad and Al Hilal are ready to table a £41.7m bid for him in the summer.

Tottenham Hotspur are very much in the race for the Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite at the end of the season.

The 22-year-old central defender has been linked with a move away from Everton and clubs like Manchester United and Liverpool are keen on him. According to Caught Offside, Spurs will rival the two Premier League clubs in the race to sign the English defender.

Branthwaite has already established himself as one of the best defenders in the league, and he has all the tools to develop into a world-class player. He has previously been described as “pretty special” by former Premier League star Jamie Carragher.

Branthwaite could develop into a key player for Tottenham if they can get the deal done. It is no secret that Tottenham need a quality central defender. The 22-year-old would be an exceptional acquisition for them. However, he is unlikely to be a cheap signing and he is likely to cost a premium. It will be interesting to see if Tottenham are willing to break the bank for him.

They are up against clubs like Manchester United and Liverpool as well. Both clubs have formidable resources and they have a great chance of getting the deal done as well.

It remains to be seen whether Tottenham can convince the player to join in the summer. He is one of the best young players in the world right now and signing would be a major coup for the North London club.

They need top-quality players like Branthwaite if they want to build a formidable squad for the future and fight for major trophies. It remains to be seen how the situation develops over the next few months. The young defender will want to join a competitive club where he will be able to fight for trophies consistently.

Manor Solomon is currently on loan at Leeds United from Tottenham Hotspur.

The 25-year-old has done quite well for the Championship club and he will be hoping to guide them to promotion this season. He has seven goals and eight assists to his name across all competitions.

There have been rumours that Leeds could try and sign him permanently at the end of the season and the reliable Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that the Championship outfit will indeed approach Tottenham regarding a permanent move.

He said on GMS: “Yeah, for sure. I think Leeds want to keep the player. They will try.

“Obviously, you need to get promoted, because Manor Solomon is a player from different levels. So I agree with you that there will be probably more clubs interested from the Premier League.

“Again, at the moment, is not something really, really advanced yet. The player is fully focused on the pitch from what I was hearing. So nothing really, really concrete, but the interest from Leeds is absolutely there in making this deal permanent. So they will try.

Solomon does not have a future at Tottenham, and it makes sense for him to leave the club permanently. He will want to sort out his long-term future and focus on his football. If Leeds can secure promotion to the Premier League, they will be an attractive destination for most players, and Solomon will be attracted to the idea of playing for them in the long term as well.

The 25-year-old has managed to regain his form and confidence with Leeds and staying at Elland Road would be ideal for him. He has proven himself in the Premier League in the past, and he could be a key player for Leeds next season if they arrive in the top flight.

Meanwhile, Tottenham will be hoping to recoup as much as possible for the player and invest it into the playing squad. They need to improve their squad during the summer transfer window if they want to fight for trophies.

Tottenham Hotspur have emerged as the club with the most interest in securing the services of Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze.

That is according to the latest report from GiveMeSport, who claim that there is no interest from Chelsea, putting Spurs in a strong position to land the highly-rated midfielder. The report also states that Eze himself is “very open” to a move to Tottenham, as he wishes to stay in London.

Tottenham not willing to pay Eberechi Eze’s release clause

However, negotiations could be complicated, as Spurs are reportedly unwilling to meet the £68m release clause in his contract. Sporting director Johan Lange values the Palace star closer to £50m, creating a significant gap in valuation between the two clubs that could pose challenges in striking a deal.

Spurs are not the only club vying for his signature, with Manchester United and Napoli also showing interest.

Former Spurs scout Bryan King has also expressed his belief that Eze would be open to joining the North London club but may seek assurances regarding the club’s direction and ambitions.

Since joining Crystal Palace from QPR in 2020 for £17m, Eze has established himself as one of the Premier League’s most exciting midfield talents. Despite injury setbacks, he finished as Palace’s top scorer in the 2022-23 season, netting 11 goals and providing six assists across all competitions.

This season, the 26-year-old has continued to impress, tallying six goals and seven assists in 28 appearances, including a crucial assist in Palace’s 4-1 victory over Aston Villa. His overall contribution for the Eagles stands at 32 goals and 24 assists in 152 games.

TBH Says

While signing Eze would be a significant addition for Spurs, questions remain about how his arrival would impact James Maddison, who occupies a similar position in the squad. If a deal is reached, it could raise speculation about Maddison’s long-term future at the club.

It also remains to be seen whether Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy will be willing to meet Palace’s valuation or attempt to negotiate a lower fee, as he is known for driving hard bargains in the transfer market.

Tottenham Hotspur failed to beat Manchester City despite a strong second half performance as Erling Haaland’s first half goal was enough to secure all three points for the visitors.

The Norwegian striker returned to the team and made an instant impact as he gave his side the lead in the 12th minute of the game.

Spurs made a poor start to the game and failed to control the momentum as Pep Guardiola’s side dominated the first half. Vicario kept Tottenham in the game as they went into the break with just a goal down.

Whatever Ange said at half-time worked as Spurs came out a different side in the second half and dominated majority of the remaining 45 minutes of the game.

And while they made several chances, they failed to put them away. Wilson Odobert missed one just ten minutes into the second half, as he poked his effort wide after a great ball from Pedro Porro.

The biggest miss came right in the dying moments of the game, with Porro putting in a cross which hit Son’s back before falling for Pape Matar Sarr. The midfielder had the golden opportunity to score but he headed his effort over the bar from point blank range to Ange Postecoglou’s disbelief.

There were some positives for Ange as Djed Spence put in yet another superb performance after coming on for Destiny Udogie in the second half.

Pep Guardiola slaps Djed Spence and offers him a word of advice

His performance was appreciated by Pep Guardiola as well, who as per journalist Jay Harris, slapped him playfully in the face to seemingly praise him.

Pep Guardiola just playfully slapped Djed Spence in the face and kept pointing to his chest?

I think that was his way of complementing Spence

— Jay Harris (@jaydmharris) February 26, 2025

And Pep Guardiola, in his post match interview, revealed what he said to the fullback (quotes via Spurs insider John Wenham):

‘Why do you run too much? You should be more calm’. [Destiny] Udogie is quite similar, the pace of this team is difficult to… Maybe Liverpool, but they are unbelievable, unbearable, and everytime they have the ball and run, they’re unstoppable; Spence, Pedro Porro, Udogie, [Dejan] Kulusevski, [Heung-min] Son. It’s an incredibly physical team with a clear idea, they play really good. They played without [Cristian] Romeo and [Micky] van de Ven; two of the best central defenders in the league…”

Pep Guardiola on what he said to Djed Spence at full-time: "'Why do you run too much? You should be more calm'. [Destiny] Udogie is quite similar, the pace of this team is difficult to… Maybe Liverpool, but they are unbelievable, unbearable, and everytime they have the ball and…

Spence has been in fine form for Spurs in recent games. He was excellent against Man United, earning praise from Gary Neville and put in another strong performance against Ipswich Town, which he capped off with a superb goal.

While Ange Postecoglou has not always been a fan of the player, Spence has forced the manager to change his stance on him.

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keeping tabs on Xavi Hernandez as a potential replacement for Ange Postecoglou.

According to a report from Fichajes, they are looking at multiple options to replace the Australian manager given the performance of the team this season. Tottenham are languishing in the midtable positions and they were expected to fight for trophies and secure Champions League qualification for the next season

If Postecoglou is shown on the door at the end of the season, they will need to bring in a quality manager to replace him. Xavi has shown his quality as the Barcelona manager in the past and he helped them with the title during the 2022/23 season.

The 45-year-old impressed with his attacking philosophy at the Spanish club, and he could prove to be an exciting acquisition for Tottenham. It will be interesting to see if the north London club decide to make a move for him in the coming months.

For now, they seem to be retaining their faith in Postecoglou to turn things around, and it remains to be seen whether the Australian can get the best out of his players. Tottenham could still secure European qualification for the next season, and they will need to put together a winning run and finish the season strongly.

Meanwhile, Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen are keeping tabs on the Spanish manager as well. It will be interesting to see where he ends up. He will want to join a competitive club capable of fighting for trophies regularly.

Tottenham certainly have an exciting project and a talented squad at their disposal. The 45-year-old could be attracted to the idea of managing in the Premier League if the opportunity presents itself.

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur has been linked with a contract extension.

According to a report from Daily Mail, Tottenham have opened talks with the 27-year-old regarding his future, and they are hoping to tie him into a new deal. His contract with the North London club expires at the end of next season. It will be interesting to see if he is ready to commit his long-term future to the club.

Bentancur has struggled with injury problems since joining the English club, but he has shown his quality with them as well. It is no surprise that they are looking to keep him at the club for the long term. Bentancur could be a quality player for Tottenham if he can get over his injury problems.

The 27-year-old is entering his peak years and he will look to play his best football in the coming seasons. He could help Tottenham fight for major trophies in future.

Meanwhile, Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has now opened up on the player’s future and a potential contract extension.

The Australian manager has revealed that the South American is an important member of the squad and any potential contract extension will be handled by the club.

He added that the 27-year-old is an important member of the group, and he is getting back up to speed after a lengthy injury layoff.

He said to Football London: “In terms of his contract situation that is handled by other people and obviously a lot of our strategizing is not just about the short term but the longer term. Rodri, this latter period, is getting back to the levels he wants to be. He was coming off a long term injury last year, came back looked really good and then got another injury. It’s really disruptive. Even this year he got off to a false start with his long suspension. You can see he just needs regular game time and he is getting up to speed. Really good guy around the group as well. He is experienced now. From our perspective, in this run-in he is going to be really important.”

It will be interesting to see if the midfielder can get back to his best and help Tottenham finish the season strongly.

Tottenham and Arsenal learn asking price for Moise Kean

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with the move for the Fiorentina striker Moise Kean.

The 24-year-old is back to his best and he has been outstanding this season. The Italian International has 19 goals to his name in all competitions and Arsenal and Tottenham are securing his signature.

According to a report from TuttoMercatoWeb, two North London clubs are keen on the ‘goal machine’ and they would have to pay his release clause of €52 million.

It will be interesting to see if Tottenham is willing to pay up for the Italian striker. The reported asking price seems reasonable for a player of his quality. If he manages to adapt to English football quickly, he could easily justify the investment.

Tottenham need a quality striker to support Dominic Solanke in the attack and Kean seems like the ideal acquisition. He has the physicality and technical attributes to do well at the London club. He has played in England before with Everton and the player could be open to the idea of returning to the Premier League. He might feel that he has unfinished business in English football, and he could look to prove his words in the Premier League.

Similarly, Arsenal need a quality striker as well. Gabriel Jesus has not been able to score consistently and they need to bring in an upgrade on the Brazilian. The 24-year-old Italian striker could be the ideal acquisition for them. Arsenal have the financial resources to get the deal across the line, and it will be interesting to see if they can beat Tottenham to his signature.

The 24-year-old is at the peak of his powers, and whoever ends up signing him will have a quality attacker on their hands. He could improve further with coaching and experience.
