“They have held talks…”: Tottenham want “exceptional” Chelsea target after Gibbs-White blow - The Boy Hotspur
Description

Tottenham Hotspur are planning to react after missing out on Morgan Gibbs-White, and they have identified Xavi Simons as a target.

The player has been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea this summer, and Tottenham are now prepared to make a move for him. According to Graeme Bailey from TBR, the 22-year-old Netherlands international is on the Tottenham radar, and it remains to be seen whether they can get the deal done.

“Tottenham were confident and they hoped that Gibbs-White would still come, it is a blow to Spurs’ plans, but they will move on very quickly.

“They have held talks with other players in recent weeks, the likes of Xavi Simons and James McAtee to name but two, there are options for them and they will move on, and they need to,” Bailey revealed.

Tottenham need Xavi Simons

They need to add more quality and depth to the attacking unit, and Simons would be a quality long-term investment.

He managed to score 11 goals last season and picked up eight assists as well. He can operate centrally as well as on the flanks. He will help create opportunities for his teammates and find the back of the net as well. He is young enough to improve further, and he could develop into a top-class player for Tottenham with the right guidance. If they can sign him for a reasonable amount of money, it could prove to be a quality investment in the long run.

Chelsea keen on Simons

Meanwhile, Chelsea need attacking depth as well, and they are keen on the Netherlands international. They have more resources compared to Tottenham, and they could be a more attractive destination for the player. It remains to be seen how Tottenham will win the race for his signature.

Tottenham want to ‘strike first’, preparing official offer to win five-way transfer race - The Boy Hotspur
Description

Tottenham Hotspur are looking to sign Giovanni Leoni from Parma during the summer transfer window.

The 18-year-old has impressed with his performances, and multiple clubs are keen on him. Juventus, Inter Milan and Marseille are keeping tabs on him.

According to Sebastien Vidal, Tottenham want to ‘strike first’, and they are preparing an official offer. They could submit a bid of around €30-40 million for the young defender. It will be interesting to see if they can secure an agreement with the Italian outfit.

They will face competition from Premier League rivals Newcastle United as well. Tottenham have contacted his agents recently as well.

Giovanni Leoni would be a future investment

Tottenham are looking to build a formidable squad for the future, and it is no surprise that they want to sign a talented young defender like Leoni. He has the attributes to develop into a key player for Tottenham with the right guidance. The opportunity to move to the Premier League will be quite exciting for him as well.

Convincing the defender to join the club should not be too difficult for Tottenham. They will look to convince his club now. It remains to be seen whether the Italian outfit are prepared to sanction his departure for the reported offer when it is presented.

Tottenham need more depth in the side

Tottenham have done well to win the UEFA Europa League last season, and they will look to build on that and push for trophies in the upcoming campaign as well. They will also look to secure Champions League qualification through league positions. They need to improve their performance levels in the league after finishing in the bottom half of the table last season. Adding more quality and depth to the should be a priority for them.

It remains to be seen whether they can bring in the right additions before the window closes.

Upset EPL ace valued at £50M should be tempted by Champions League foootball at Spurs - The Boy Hotspur
Description

This summer’s transfer window is providing all the usual aches and pains that Spurs fans associate with the thorny business of recruiting new players. Initial deals, including Kevin Danso and Mathys Tel, were bolstered by Yang Min-Hyeok, Luka Vuscovik and Koya Takai. However, Mohammed Kudus has been the only big name so far.

In recent hours, it was announced that the Morgan Gibbs-White deal had collapsed. Judging by the response from fans online, the general mood in the camp has been one of unchecked contempt for the Tottenham board, who had yet again failed to get another move over the line.

Only complete nitwits will have failed to notice what big clubs in the division are doing, and once again, it feels very much as if Spurs are the club that is destined to get left behind.

One factor in all the weeping and wailing here is that Spurs finished in 17th place, and Thomas Frank is looking at pulling us out of the fire next season. There were lots of heartstrings being pulled by players when Big Ange left, but where were those men when we were sleepwalking into a relegation battle? Any players coming in will want to get a sense that things have changed in N17.

🚨 #NUFC set to make a formal bid for Yoane Wissa believed to be in excess of £30m. Spurs also keen and in talks.

Brentford would rather keep Wissa, and quoted Forest £50m+, but player pushing for a move away. Suitors feel a deal can be reached for less.🐝

According to talkSPORT, Tottenham target Yoane Wissa is now disappointed with Brentford and is set to boycott training in order to get a move this summer.

Newcastle United are thought to be keen on the attacker, but with options diminishing by the day, this should prompt Levy & Co to get cracking on.

Spurs didn’t score enough goals last season and conceded too many. The question fans will be asking is, will changing coaches be enough?

Why I don’t blame Morgan Gibbs-White for not joining Tottenham [opinion] - The Boy Hotspur
Description

Yesterday’s news that Nottingham Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White had miraculously decided not to join Spurs wasn’t an update that shook me to my core. Of course, I had predicted he would join, because all the indicators were there. He’d allegedly swerved the chance to join Manchester City, and the reverberations made by Marinakis hurling his toys from his pram could be felt in China.

The boy himself issued a brief comment in the aftermath.

“I’ve felt at home at Forest from the moment I arrived. The support from the fans, my teammates, and everyone around the club has been unbelievable.

“I believe in what we’re building here – and with the backing of Mr Marinakis and the enormous ambition he has, I want to be part of making something special. I’m excited for what’s to come.”

All that was missing from these words was the phrase ‘the devil you know’, because despite all the white noise from Spurs fans about being champions of Europe, which we absolutely are not, because that honour is for PSG and no other. Spurs played like a bunch of deadbeats last term and for much of the season before.

The football under Ange Postecoglou stank the place out for all the hot air generated by players cooing over the Australian. We lost a record number of games, even breaking a Premier League record, of losing 22 games, with the division’s inception, which would have automatically meant that we had been relegated. Such was the truly dreadful nature of our form, we defied the history books and still wouldn’t go down.

Footballers are not noted for their bravery, and the suggestion that Gibbs-White was willing to come to Tottenham and fight for his place, and carry us out of the current mire was far too good to be true. I am sure that in the cold light of day, it would have taken Mr. Marinakis a very short amount of time to point out the inconsistencies in the Tottenham offer.

All reports about legal action were hot air; my apologies to anyone who had their time wasted by them. The bottom line is that Johan Lange, Daniel Levy and Vinaichandra Guduguntla Venkatesham were all out of their depth and treated like the losers that they are.

Good morning and welcome to another instalment in this series of daily shorts from The Boy Hotspur himself, sharing opinion and insight from behind the scenes at Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.

The impasse in our summer transfer activity has caused blood to boil in many a Spurs supporting household, with the initial flurry of predictable loan conclusions, etc, eventually giving way to that feeling of despair that we’re all too familiar with.

The ghost of finishing seventeenth looms over N17, and we all know who needs to deal with it, and to make us whole again.

Spurs could go after “special” title-winning playmaker after Gibbs-White miss - The Boy Hotspur
Description

Tottenham Hotspur have missed out on the signing of Morgan Gibbs-White, who has now signed a new deal with Nottingham Forest.

According to Tottenham insider Paul O’Keefe, Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott is also on their shortlist. It remains to be seen whether they decide to move for the 22-year-old after missing out on Gibbs-White.

Spurs move could be ideal for Elliott

Elliott was outstanding for the England under-21s in the European Championship earlier this summer, and he helped them win the tournament.

Elliott needs regular game time in order to continue his development, and a move could be ideal for him. He would get more opportunities at the north London club and would be able to compete at a high level as well. They have secured Champions League qualification for next season, and the Liverpool midfielder could be tempted to join them.

Harvey Elliott needs a move

The Premier League winner needs a fresh start this summer and must focus on his development. Sitting on the bench at Liverpool will not benefit him. It remains to be seen whether Tottenham will come forward with an offer to sign the player. The 22-year-old would be an exceptional acquisition. He is regarded as a “special talent” with a bright future and could develop into a key player for the north London outfit. He is versatile enough to operate as a central attacking midfielder as well as on the flanks. He would add goals and creativity to the side.

Elliott has shown his quality during his cameos with Liverpool, and there is no doubt that he is good enough to start regularly in the Premier League. Regular first-team opportunities at Tottenham could bring out the best in him and help him fulfil his potential.

If Tottenham can sign him for a reasonable amount of money, the deal could look like a masterstroke.

Tottenham told they have a “phenomenal” player like Arsenal star who is “just a menace” - The Boy Hotspur
Description

Luka Vuskovic has made quite an impression with Tottenham Hotspur during preseason so far, and he has been tipped to establish himself as a regular starter in the next 12 months.

John Wenham has likened the 18-year-old defender to the Arsenal star Gabriel Magalhaes. He believes that Vuskovic could be a massive threat for Tottenham during pieces, just like the Arsenal defender. He also added that the young defender is a phenomenal player with a big future.

Luka Vuskovic has done well in pre-season

“I would say within the next 12 months, Vuskovic will be our starting centre back,” Wenham said on Tottenham News.

“He’s just a menace. The way that Gabriel Magalhaes for Arsenal is such a danger from those set pieces, Vuskovic is the same. He showed it last year in Belgium, and he’s already doing it for Tottenham.

“He is a massive danger going forward. Also, against Reading, the way he was barking out instructions at the likes of Guglielmo Vicario, van de Ven, players with far more experience than him, it shows he’s got a real authority about him.

“He’s composed, he’s calm, there was no panicking, he’s a natural leader, and he looks like a phenomenal signing, and I honestly think within this season, he will replace one of our two centre-backs.”

Luka Vuskovic is an elite prospect

The 18-year-old has not only shown his quality as a defender, but he has also proven that he can be a huge threat going forward. In addition to that, he has shown signs of leadership with the way he has instructed his teammates on the pitch.

It will be interesting to see if he gets ample opportunities in the upcoming season. He will need to play to continue his development. Sitting on the bench at Spurs will not benefit him. If Tottenham cannot provide him with ample opportunities, it would be ideal for them to let him leave on loan.

Report: Clubs scrambling for Tottenham sensation who has wowed Thomas Frank during pre-season - The Boy Hotspur
Description

Tottenham Hotspur defender Luka Vuskovic has done quite well since arriving at the London club, and his performances have been quite impressive in preseason.

According to The Daily Mail, Thomas Frank is impressed with his performances during pre-season, but he will have to decide on the defender’s future soon. Several Bundesliga clubs are interested in signing the 18-year-old defender on loan.

Luka Vuskovic needs game time

He needs to play regularly at this stage of his career, and Tottenham will not be able to provide him with that opportunity. They have multiple defenders ahead of him in the pecking order, and it would be wise of the London club to send him out on loan so that he can continue his development with regular game time.

Moving to the Bundesliga could be ideal for him. Several Premier League players have moved to the Bundesliga and developed into tremendous assets. There is no reason why the 18-year-old cannot improve with regular football in Germany as well.

Vuskovic should leave on loan

It remains to be seen what Tottenham decide over the next few days. They must prioritise the development of the young defender at this stage of his career. Sitting on the bench at Tottenham will not benefit him. It will be detrimental to his development.

Meanwhile, the young defender will look to play regularly as well. If a suitable loan deal can be agreed upon, it could be a tempting opportunity for him. He will look to establish himself as a key player for Tottenham in future, and he needs to play more often in order for that to happen.

The 18-year-old will look to hit the ground running in Germany if the transfer goes through this summer. He will also hope to return to Tottenham as a better player next summer.

Tottenham ready to accept £20 million for Son Heung

Report: Tottenham slash first-team star’s asking price amid exit rumors - The Boy Hotspur
Description

Tottenham Hotspur attacker Son Heung-min has been linked with a move away from the club this summer.

Initially, Tottenham were holding out for a fee of around £35 million for the South Korean International, but a report from GMS claims that they are now prepared to let him leave for just £20 million.

Son has been a key player

Son has been an outstanding performer for Tottenham since joining the club, and he will undoubtedly go down as a club legend. It will be interesting to see if Tottenham are prepared to let him move on. He has attracted attention from the MLS and Saudi Arabia. He is a top-class player, and it is no surprise that clubs from abroad are keen on him.

The player is in the twilight stages of his career, and this could be the right time for him to try out a new challenge. He has proven himself in England and helped Tottenham end their wait for a trophy as well. He might feel that this is the right time for him to move on. It remains to be seen where he ends up.

Can Tottenham replace Son Heung-min?

He has been an indispensable asset for Tottenham over the years, and they will need to replace him adequately if he moves on. £20 million is the reasonable asking price for a player of his quality and experience. Whoever ends up signing him this summer could have a bargain on their hands.

Meanwhile, Tottenham looked mediocre in the attack at times last season. If they end up sanctioning the departure of the South Korean, they will need to replace him adequately. They should look to invest in a dynamic attacker who is capable of slotting anywhere across the front three.

“He told me…”: Tottenham summer signing breaks silence on private chat with Harry Kane - The Boy Hotspur
Description

Tottenham Hotspur decided to make the move for Mathys Tel permanent during the summer transfer window.

The player was on loan at the North London club during the second half of last season. Although he did not make a significant impact at the English club, they rate him highly, and they have decided to sign him permanently.

The French attacker has now opened up on the challenge ahead of him, and he has revealed the message he received from former Tottenham star Harry Kane.

“Yes, I spoke to him beforehand,” he said via Sky Germany.

“He told me, if you need anything, send me a text, give me a call. I spoke to him; he’s a top guy. (Now it’s a) new challenge, I’m ready for my team, the clubs and also the fans.”

Can Mathys Tel deliver?

It will be interesting to see if the highly rated attacker can adapt to the Premier League in the upcoming season and establish himself as an important player for Tottenham. The North London club have shown great faith in his ability despite mediocre performances last season.

Tel will need to justify their transfer decision now. There is no doubt that he is a promising young talent with a bright future. He has the attributes to develop into a top-class player. He is capable of operating anywhere across the front three, and he could be an asset for the club.

Tottenham need attacking quality

Tottenham have looked toothless going forward at times, and they need to improve in the final third. It is no surprise that they have decided to invest in the talented young attacker. They will hope that he can justify the outlay in the upcoming campaign.

Thomas Frank has done well to bring out the best in his players at Brentford, and it remains to be seen whether he can unlock the true potential of the French attacker.
