Description

Simon Jordan is adamant there has been a massive fallout at Tottenham, and has suggested that the Lewis family are undermining Daniel Levy to force a sale.

Levy unexpectedly resigned from his post as Spurs chairman in September, ending his nearly 25-year reign in charge of the Lilywhites.

Joe Lewis and his family are now in control of Tottenham and have already started to make big plans ahead of the January transfer window.

The Lewis family have insisted that they won’t sell Spurs, but former Crystal Palace owner Jordan has shared his experience to explain what he thinks has gone on behind the scenes.

Simon Jordan says Daniel Levy is being ‘attacked’

Things are complicated at N17 after Levy‘s departure, but at the end of the day, he and Lewis are still business partners as things stand.

MORE SPURS STORIES

The former Spurs chairman still owns a significant portion of ENIC, and Jordan is suggesting that Levy is being backed into a corner to sell his shareholdings for cheap.

While speaking on talkSPORT, Jordan elaborated on why he thinks the Lilywhites are up for sale.

Jordan said: “I think Tottenham’s for sale, despite all the protestations that they’re not. I think it’s categorically up for sale.

“I think there’s a huge fallout that’s gone on inside Tottenham with Daniel’s departure. I think some of the accountancy reviews are an attack upon Daniel Levy, perhaps designed so that he sells his shareholdings and ENIC at a reduced price.

“I don’t think that allowing someone to run a football club for 25 years and then, when they go out the door, having to do a review of the practices they’ve put in place is anything but undermining.

“That is looking at someone and saying that, for whatever reason, you’ve fallen out.“

Given the latest news regarding Spurs’ backroom, everything seems to be happening at once.

Levy’s chain reaction of events at Tottenham

Levy’s departure seems to have started a domino effect at N17, which is only harming Spurs right now.

He chose to appoint Thomas Frank in the summer, making a big call to sack Ange Postecoglou, before bizarrely stepping down from his own role shortly after.

Now, the sporting director that he reappointed is set to leave, as Fabio Paratici looks to be joining Fiorentina in the coming days, right before the transfer market opens.

Frank is also under pressure, as the Lewis family have a decision to make on whether to keep Levy’s hire, or replace him.

It’s most likely going to be another year of change for Tottenham in 2026, and supporters could see new owners in charge of the Lilywhites soon.

Chelsea could get revenge on Tottenham for Xavi Simons as £65m transfer update drops - tottenhamhotspurnews.com
Description

Tottenham’s January transfer plans could either make or break their season, and Chelsea could derail their chances of signing one player.

Thomas Frank saw multiple transfer targets pass him by in the summer, and one of those was Eberechi Eze, who joined Arsenal instead of Tottenham.

Eze was one of several whom chairman Daniel Levy fumbled, but Spurs did convince Xavi Simons to choose them over Chelsea.

The 22-year-old arrived in a £55million switch from RB Leipzig and has since struggled to meet expectations in the Premier League.

Simons, who was sent off against Liverpool for a horror tackle on Virgil van Dijk at the weekend, has just two goal involvements in 14 top-flight appearances, with Frank eyeing some competition for him in January.

Chelsea join race to sign Tottenham target Antoine Semenyo

Antoine Semenyo is one of Tottenham’s long-term targets, but multiple Premier League clubs are chasing his signature, and according to The Athletic, Chelsea are one of them.

David Ornstein revealed on X that the Blues have made an ‘initial enquiry’ for the Bournemouth attacker and are said to be accelerating plans for the 25-year-old.

It was already revealed that Manchester City are the favourites to sign Semenyo, though Enzo Maresca could use this as an opportunity to land the Ghanaian and get revenge on Spurs for stealing Simons away from them.

Semenyo is available for £65million due to a release clause in his contract, and as it stands, each of Manchester United, Chelsea, Spurs and Man City are involved in a transfer tug-of-war.

Semenyo has star quality that Tottenham desire

For many, seeing the Cherries star choose Chelsea as his ideal destination would be a bitter pill to swallow, and there’s still a chance his incredible attacking threat ends up at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Including eight goals in 16 Premier League appearances this term, Semenyo has also posted some excellent figures across the past year, including strong ball progression and shot-making abilities.

Capable of playing in multiple positions across the front line, the Ghana international possesses the star quality that can propel Tottenham to new heights.

More importantly, he’s already proven in England’s top-flight, and after a summer of signing players from abroad, they need someone guaranteed to hit the ground running.

Lucas Bergvall doesn’t owe Tottenham anything as shock £52m Liverpool transfer update drops

Description

Lucas Bergvall should be free to leave Tottenham if he wishes.

Thomas Frank is taking Tottenham down the wrong path at the moment, and he is not utilising Bergvall to his full capabilities.

The Sweden international has started just eight of the Lilywhites’ 17 Premier League games this campaign, not helped by injuries, and is being underused when available.

Bergvall has unique talents that nobody else offers for Spurs’ midfield, but the Tottenham boss just can’t see it.

Ange Postecoglou deserves credit for bringing Bergvall to N17 last year; however, it may now be time for the teenager to move on.

Liverpool eye £51.6m deal for Lucas Bergvall

Tottenham signed Bergvall from Swedish side Djurgarden on a deal that will see the midfielder stay at N17 until 2031.

Right now, the starlet is one of the Premier League’s brightest prospects, let alone Tottenham’s, and it’s understandable why attention may surround his name.

Bergvall has already been said to be unhappy with the lack of playing time, which may concern Tottenham, given the latest transfer update.

According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, despite spending heavily in the summer, Liverpool want further additions and are keeping an eye on Bergvall.

The Reds are believed to be “ready” to make an offer of just below £52million for the 19-year-old, but the Lilywhites are said to be not even considering a sale.

But that’s where there may be an issue, because there’s no way that Bergvall will be content with the lack of faith that Frank has shown in him so far.

Bergvall will outgrow Tottenham at this rate

Time will tell if Bergvall will join Arne Slot’s side or not, but one thing is for sure at this point, and that is he will eventually outgrow Spurs.

Things are going from bad to worse for the Lilywhites, with backroom changes happening every other month and uncertainty over Frank’s future.

If an offer was made in January, Bergvall could see it as the perfect opportunity to jump ship and continue his progression.

The teenager has proved that he’s only gotten better since last season, but somehow it feels like he is playing less football.

Supporters may have to brace themselves for losing a fan favourite.

Radu Dragusin offered to club for Tottenham exit despite injury return

Description

Radu Dragusin has reportedly been offered up to leave Tottenham after recovering from his injury lay-off.

The Romanian has been out of action for almost a year after suffering an ACL injury in the Europa League last January, having arrived at the club from Genoa in the winter transfer window a year earlier.

Dragusin was linked with a move away from Tottenham in the summer after Thomas Frank replaced Ange Postecoglou as manager but nothing came about.

He made a return to action in a behind-closed-doors friendly last month, and was then included in his first Spurs squad under the new boss at the weekend, but stayed on the bench as Tottenham were beaten by Liverpool in a chaotic match, and now could be on the way out.

Radu Dragusin offered to Roma

According to a new update from Gazzetta dello Sport in Italy Roma boss Gian Piero Gasparini is looking for a potential centre-back signing in the New Year and Dragusin is an option.

MORE SPURS STORIES

The 23-year-old has reportedly been offered to the Serie A side along with frozen-out Chelsea defender Axel Disasi.

In a separate update from Tutto Mercato Web it is suggested that the most likely way out of Tottenham would be on a loan-to-buy deal.

However, with Fabio Paratici due to leave Tottenham for a role at Fiorentina, a switch to La Viola is also considered one to keep an eye on.

Cristian Romero chaos requires able back up

If Dragusin is to leave imminently then it has to be assumed that Frank has seen enough on the training pitches since his return to fitness to believe he doesn’t fit his style.

Otherwise it seems short-sighted to let a player go so early when it is hard to imagine it being financially game-changing in any positive way at this stage.

Kevin Danso is available and Ben Davies can step in if pushed but Tottenham need capable support at the centre-back position to turn to at all times given captain Cristian Romero is a regular suspension risk.

The Argentine was already looking odds-on to pick up a ban for cumulative yellow cards before he sped up the process with the brainless sending off in the Liverpool loss, while fellow starter Micky van de Ven’s hamstrings are a potential injury worry.

Dragusin hasn’t set the world on fire at Spurs and there is arguably a fair amount of filler in a squad that is dramatically underachieving, but with so many injury issues throughout it is a risk to let anyone go without an obvious replacement coming in.

Tottenham coaches blamed over what keeps happening to Guglielmo Vicario - tottenhamhotspurnews.com
Description

Guglielmo Vicario continues to struggle for form at Tottenham.

Vicario made two errors against Nottingham Forest as Spurs fell to an embarrassing defeat on the road at the City Ground on 14 December.

Things haven’t improved at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as Vicario continues to come under scrutiny for his poor showings.

The January transfer window is fast approaching, but it doesn’t look like Vicario will be dropped by Tottenham at this stage.

Thomas Frank has questions to answer in North London as he and his coaching team continue to be looked at for their failings surrounding Vicario.

Tottenham coaches blamed for Guglielmo Vicario failings

Vicario is struggling on and off the pitch at Tottenham, it seems, with his performances reflecting that in recent weeks and months.

The Italian came in from Empoli with little expectation and immediately proved himself as one of the better keepers in the Premier League.

That rating has quickly dropped, and now the shot-stopper is seen as more of a liability for Spurs due to his frequent mistakes in N17.

Former scout Bryan King has little positive to say about Vicario, but can’t see him being replaced in January, even if coaches continue to miss red flags in training.

Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, King said: “I don’t rate any of the goalkeepers they’ve got there at the moment.

“Vicario came in and looked like he could be the answer, but he’s been making errors nearly every game.

“How can they replace him? Where are they suddenly going to get a goalkeeper who they think could win them the Premier League or a cup?

“I think they’ve stuck and have to stick with what they’ve got.

“I’d be looking at the coaching. There are certain things missing in his game, and it seems that the coaches are missing them too.“

Tottenham unlikely to land Vicario replacement

The January window is just days away in N17, and there looks to be a need for changes after a frustrating first half of the season under Frank.

The goalkeeper position is arguably one that the Lilywhites have shown an interest in landing during the winter market.

Ter Stegen and Bart Verbruggen have been linked, but neither feels like a true step up from Vicario even after his recent problems.

Spurs could stand by the Italian and hope he finds his feet, but the coaching staff seemingly has to take a step up and see the problems in his game.

Thomas Frank is having a tough time at Tottenham and is coming under increasing pressure for his side’s poor performances.

Tottenham were beaten 2-1 by Liverpool on Saturday evening, and have now dropped down to 14th in the Premier League.

Both Xavi Simons and Cristian Romero were sent off for Spurs, adding yet more problems to Frank’s ever-growing list.

The Dane has received some positive news of sorts over the past 24 hours, however, with one Tottenham player set to make a return to action away from North London.

Yves Bissouma could return to action with Mali on Boxing Day

Bissouma’s future at Tottenham is in significant doubt after footage emerged of him inhaling nitrous oxide.

MORE SPURS STORIES

This is the second time the 29-year-old has been caught taking ‘laughing gas’, after being suspended by Spurs in August 2024 for the offence.

Even before his off-field antics, Bissouma looked set to leave Tottenham anyway, as he is firmly out of favour under Frank.

The former Brighton man has not played a single minute for the North London side this season, due to fitness issues and selection decisions.

Bissouma’s only appearance of the campaign came as a substitute for Mali back in October, but he lasted just seven minutes before being stretchered off with a knee injury.

Despite his lack of game time, the Spurs midfielder was called up for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), but didn’t feature in Mali’s opening fixture, a 1-1 draw with Zambia on Monday evening.

However, according to Mali manager Tom Saintfiet, Bissouma could return for the second game of the tournament, against Morocco on 26 December.

Speaking to Canal+Sport Afrique, Saintfiet said: “Yves Bissouma can be on the bench (against Morocco) but it’s not certain”

Yves Bissouma must prove he’s back to his best

Bissouma was an important player for Tottenham under Ange Postecoglou last season, both offensively and defensively.

In the 2024-25 Premier League campaign, according to FBRef, the Mali international made 2.56 clearances and completed 1.98 tackles per 90, putting him in the top 20 per cent of midfielders in the top-flight.

Bissouma was also crucial on the ball, impressing with his total carry distance and overall pass accuracy, as well as chipping in with two goals.

Crucially, he averaged 1.98 tackles won per 90 and also carried the ball an average of 210 metres, which are qualities Spurs could do with right now.

Frank will be watching Bissouma’s performances at AFCON and will be willing him to recover some of his form from last season.

Even if Bissouma isn’t part of Frank’s future plans at Tottenham, a good tournament will help raise his value ahead of the January transfer window and allow the club to offload him at a reasonable price.

Micky van de Ven defended after what's been demanded following Alexander Isak leg-breaker - tottenhamhotspurnews.com
Description

Micky van de Ven was at the centre of an unfortunate incident with Liverpool star Alexander Isak in Tottenham’s 2-1 loss.

Isak opened the scoring at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but was then forced off with an injury straight after.

It was Van de Ven‘s challenge that led to the issue for the Reds frontman, as the Spurs defender went in with a heavy tackle to attempt to stop his shot.

Liverpool confirmed that Isak has had surgery on the ankle injury, which included a fibula fracture, and has led to calls for the Lilywhites ace to be punished.

MORE SPURS STORIES

What has been demanded after Van de Ven incident in Tottenham vs Liverpool?

Former Chelsea defender Frank Leboeuf has called for the Tottenham star to face the repercussions after the tackle, which has led to a devastating injury for Isak.

He believes that while Van de Ven’s style of defending and refusal to give up the chance is admirable, he was not in control when he tackled the Reds ace.

Speaking on ESPN on 21 December, he said: “I love the way Van de Ven is behaving and the way he plays football, and I love the player, but he has to be punished.

“I’m sorry, you cannot get out of that when you broke the leg of somebody. You take a chance, you’re a defender. I was a defender and never injured any player.

“You can tackle, you can be hard, but you have to know and be in control of what you do. And, I’m sorry, in that manner, and the result says a lot, Van de Ven was not in control.

“For me, that’s maybe unfortunate, but something has to come out. He cannot go unpunished again after that tackle.”

Van de Ven defended after retrospective punishment claims

John Wenham believes that Van de Ven did not intentionally set out to hurt his opponent, as he is not that type of player.

Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, he said: ”Van de Ven had to make a challenge to try and stop Isak from scoring.

“Van de Ven is not the sort of player to make a challenge that would endanger an opposing player.”

When asked whether he should be punished retrospectively, as Leboeuf has suggested, Wenham believes that it is not realistic.

Ultimately, while it is unfortunate for Isak, it was a legitimate attempt to get the ball and stop a goalscoring opportunity, and it would set a dangerous precedent if he were punished after the fact.

Thomas Frank will hope that Wenham’s verdict is correct, as he would not want to be without his best defender as he tries to turn Spurs’ fortunes around.

The ex-Brentford boss faces a tough period, and he needs the Dutch centre-back to be available, especially after Cristian Romero was sent off.

Description

Tottenham have been forewarned before making a potential swoop for Marc-Andre ter Stegen in January.

Ter Stegen has emerged as a potential target for Tottenham after a difficult season to this point under Thomas Frank.

The Dane has come under pressure, as has Spurs keeper Guglielmo Vicario, after multiple errors this season have cost his side dearly.

Vicario is struggling for form and confidence at Tottenham and could ultimately be replaced at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this winter.

The Lilywhites have been linked with a potential move for Ter Stegen, but have been emphatically warned against a move ahead of the January window.

Bryan King rages at Tottenham link to Marc-Andre ter Stegen

Ter Stegen was linked to Tottenham many months ago, but the upcoming window will provide a first opportunity to land his signature.

The German looks destined to leave Barcelona after falling out of favour under Hansi Flick, despite being the club captain at Camp Nou.

Spurs are said to be one of the only sides who can afford the 33-year-old’s wages, with reports emerging from Catalan outlet Sport.

Former scout Bryan King has sent a stark warning to the North Londoners against signing ter Stegen once the winter market opens.

Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, King said: “No chance. I don’t rate him.

“He’s the luckiest man alive to be a goalkeeper playing for a decent team.

“I wouldn’t bring him to England, I don’t rate him. I think that’s an ‘according to reports’ story, because I certainly wouldn’t go after him if I were Tottenham.

“I’ve never liked him, even when watching him in Germany.

“He got the luckiest move ever, going to Barcelona.“

Tottenham can’t risk ter Stegen signing in January

After such a distinct warning from King, the signing of ter Stegen in January could prove to be the final nail in Frank’s coffin in N17.

The Barca keeper certainly has qualities, but it is clear that he brings plenty of baggage and would come on hefty wages from LaLiga.

If he were to come in and perform at a similar level to Vicario, there would be little way to explain why money was wasted on someone who isn’t an obvious improvement on the squad.

Spurs need to be wise with their money and may see more benefit from trusting in the Italian rather than bringing in a 33-year-old for a sizable cost.

Fabio Paratici should be utterly ashamed if what’s now being reported at Tottenham is true - tottenhamhotspurnews.com
Description

Fabio Paratici looks set to leave Tottenham just two months after rejoining as sporting director.

Paratici was initially at Spurs between 2021 and 2023 as their managing director of football, before returning to the club in October.

The 53-year-old was set to play a big role in the January transfer window, with Tottenham interested in the likes of Antoine Semenyo as they looked to add quality to their squad.

However, Paratici now looks set for a swift exit and return to his native Italy, which will leave a bitter taste in the mouth of the hierarchy in North London.

Fabio Paratici set for Fiorentina move

Paratici was responsible for bringing the likes of Antonio Conte, Dejan Kulusevski and Cristian Romero to Tottenham during his first spell at the club.

MORE SPURS STORIES

There was understandable excitment when he rejoined, with some supporters believing that Spurs’ recruitment would improve as a result.

With just over a week until the January transfer window, Paratici is reportedly nearing a move to Fiorentina in Serie A.

The Italian is set for crunch talks with the Tottenham hierarchy this week, which could see his time in North London brought to an end.

If Paratici does end up leaving, it will be a big blow for Spurs, especially considering the way the Lilywhites have stood by him in recent years.

Fabio Paratici owes Tottenham after ban

Paratici originally left Tottenham back in April 2023 after being hit with a 30-month ban by FIFA for financial irregularities.

The charges stem from the 53-year-old’s time at Juventus, who were found guilty of false accounting between 2019 and 2021.

However, once Paratici’s ban had expired back in October, he was immediately welcomed back by Tottenham into the role of sporting director.

The North London side showed remarkable loyalty to the Italian, but it seems that he is throwing that straight back in their faces.

Instead of thanking Spurs for their continued support with multiple years of service, Paratici looks set to jump ship at the first opportunity.

If he does end up leaving Tottenham, then he has failed to repay those who stood by him during what could’ve been a career-ending scandal.

Tim Sherwood tells Tottenham do the right thing as Thomas Frank sack question raised - tottenhamhotspurnews.com
Description

Tim Sherwood has laughed off suggestions that Thomas Frank will be sacked by Tottenham.

Frank was appointed at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer, after Ange Postecoglou was relieved of his duties, but he has had an underwhelming start.

The Dane is under increasing pressure after Tottenham’s 2-1 loss to Liverpool on 20 December, which left the North London club sitting 13th in the Premier League.

Tottenham’s dismal home record is under the microscope, with the Lilywhites winning just four of their home league matches in 2025.

Sherwood thinks Tottenham must back Frank before sack

Tottenham’s frugality in the transfer market has been a long-debated issue, but they finally loosened the purse strings this summer.

MORE SPURS STORIES

However, Tim Sherwood believes that more of the same must be in order, before they make any decision on Frank’s future.

Speaking on Sky Sports on 22 December, he said: “I think he needs to be given a chance.

“Any manager needs time and hopefully they give it to him.

“He needs help in the transfer market.

“They have a lot of players who are similar, but hopefully they make the right calls in the next couple of windows to let Thomas build something there at Tottenham.”

Why Frank is not to blame for Liverpool defeat

Frank cannot be blamed for the narrow defeat to Arne Slot’s side, as there were several unfortunate events that went against him.

He was hamstrung from the 33rd-minute onwards, when Xavi Simons was sent off for a ridiculous challenge on Virgil van Dijk.

Any chance that Spurs had of coming back was eradicated by Cristian Romero being unable to control his temper and kicking out at Ibrahima Konate, as they were chasing and looking likely to get an equaliser.

Frank may have made mistakes since joining the N17 outfit, but if those individual errors had not happened, he may well have pulled off a good result against the Reds.

On a different day, his side may have come away with all three points, and the talk of the sack would not have been as heavy.

Sherwood is right, they need to give the ex-Brentford boss backing in the market, to see how he can take this team, rather than making any knee-jerk decisions.
