This article includes exclusive opinion from injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar.

Tottenham have been in hot pursuit of Nottingham Forest attacking midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White this summer.

Injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar has assessed his game time last season ahead of a potential medical in the coming weeks.

Forest are currently playing hardball over the England international’s exit, preventing Spurs from securing his services.

Gibbs-White expected to clear medical if needed

The 25-year-old is expected to pass his medical if he does undergo one this summer, according to Dr Brar.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Tottenham are prioritising a move for Gibbs-White ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

Discussing the state of play with Gibbs-White exclusively with Tottenham News, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, shared his verdict.

“He missed just four games last season, with two of them being due to suspension,” he said.

“While he did face a late fitness call for the April fixture against Manchester United, he ended up clearing it and playing the full 90 minutes.

“I do not see him facing any issues with his medical and given his Premier League experience, adaptation to another Premier League club is also expected to be seamless.”

Tottenham must push for Gibbs-White’s transfer

Gibbs-White could be a game-changer under Thomas Frank and this transfer would excite Spurs fans.

His seven goals and 10 assists last season, combined with his high-energy, creative play, align perfectly with Frank’s system, where he could thrive as a dynamic No. 10.

Gibbs-White’s Premier League experience of over 150 appearances and versatility address Tottenham’s need for a mobile, attacking midfielder, especially with James Maddison’s injury concerns and Dejan Kulusevski’s recovery.

Despite Forest’s legal concerns over the £60million release clause, Spurs’ Champions League prospects and Frank’s admiration for Gibbs-White’s work rate make him vital for revitalising their attack, ensuring competitiveness in a crucial season.

Son Heung-min ‘finished at Tottenham’ as blockbuster Levy transfer news emerges

Description

Tottenham star Son Heung-min could quickly become surplus to requirements for new manager Thomas Frank.

At 33, Son’s stint in North London is slowly coming to an end, with the winger establishing himself as a Spurs legend already.

The Europa League triumph under Ange Postecoglou was a fitting reward for Son’s loyalty when other legends such as Harry Kane decided to leave in the past.

The South Korean international looks to have an uncertain future in N17 under Frank, and his replacement appears to have been identified.

Real Madrid star to replace Son

The Lilywhites have already conducted some ambitious business in the window so far, bringing Mohammed Kudus in from West Ham.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Tottenham’s pursuit of Morgan Gibbs-White is also ongoing, and the Nottingham Forest playmaker would be another excellent addition to Frank’s squad.

However, if Daniel Levy could pull off a move for Real Madrid winger Rodrygo, then that would be one of the signings of the summer and would effectively end Son’s tenure in N17.

AS has reported in its print edition (23 July, pg 9) that Tottenham are one of many clubs interested in securing the Brazilian’s services.

Liverpool and Bayern Munich are said to be interested in Rodrygo, with the 24-year-old also being the subject of cold interest from Arsenal and Chelsea.

This competition has not deterred Spurs, who want to bring Rodrygo to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

When Frank took the reins after the dismissal of Postecoglou, the Dane was promised one thing: “investment and more investment.”

The investment in Rodrygo would be a significant one; however, Levy will try to lower the price of the Brazilian below £78million.

Spurs should break the bank for Rodrygo

It will be sad when the day comes for Son to leave Spurs; however, Levy has an opportunity to replace his ageing captain with a player who could turn into a world-class replacement.

Whilst at Madrid, Rodrygo can easily be forgotten, given the stars they have in their ranks like Vinicius Junior, Kylian Mbappe and Jude Bellingham.

If the Brazilian made the move to North London, he would start virtually every game and begin to feel like the main man under Frank.

This treatment could see the 24-year-old’s output skyrocket and cement his place as one of the best wingers in world football.

If Tottenham want to continue winning trophies, they must act ruthlessly and smartly in the transfer market, and bringing in Rodrygo to replace Son would represent this ambition.

Description

Thomas Frank is keen to add more depth to his attack this summer, and Rodrygo could provide all the answers for Tottenham.

The Brazilian star is the latest to be linked with a move to Tottenham, with the Real Madrid forward keen to find regular gametime elsewhere.

Spurs are also keen on a move for Yoane Wissa after their bid to sign Bryan Mbeumo fell through.

With Morgan Gibbs-White’s move to the Lilywhites now also looking uncertain, Real Madrid’s Rodrygo could be next through the door at Hotspur Way.

Tottenham ready to beat Arsenal to Rodrygo signing

Rodrygo has been linked with moves to Arsenal and Liverpool so far this summer.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Their two rivals now appear to be looking elsewhere to bolster their attacks, with the Lilywhites now given the perfect opportunity to swoop, though they will have to pay a premium fee.

Real Madrid are believed to value Rodrygo at around £78million, though Tottenham will try to persuade them to lower their asking price for the Brazilian.

Understandably, Spurs are trying to push down the asking price for Rodrygo, as if they do sign the attacker, they would have to get near his £208,000 per week wage.

This rises to £336,000 when bonuses are achieved, according to Capology.

Real Madrid’s salary structures are much different from the Lilywhites.

Should Frank’s side push for the signing, they would have to make a controversial exception, with his fellow players bound to start questioning their worth at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Rodrygo could have fresh new shirt number at Tottenham

Rodrygo has worn the number 11 shirt for the Galacticos in recent seasons, but with that shirt now belonging to Mathys Tel, he could have a new number next season.

Spurs’ squad numbers are yet to be confirmed for next season, but going off last season, the number nine shirt could be available should Richarlison depart.

Otherwise, the attacker has number 12 as an option, or should he choose, he could still take the number 11 shirt from Tel or number 21, which he also wore at Madrid, from Dejan Kulusevski.

Liverpool backed to beat Tottenham to signing ‘better all-round player than Maddison’

Description

Daniel Levy appears to have discovered a new willingness to spend money at Tottenham this summer.

The Lilywhites chief has gained a reputation for being fairly tight with the club’s coffers over the years, but that seems destined to change as they transition into the Thomas Frank era.

Spurs have already completed the signing of Mohammed Kudus from West Ham for £55million, and several more big-money stars are being linked with a switch to N17.

Spurs to lose out to Liverpool in future Wharton decision

Adam Wharton is another high-profile player who has been tipped to join Spurs this summer, but he is now understood to have decided to stay at Crystal Palace for next season.

The 21-year-old has already earned senior international honours for England, and has had several of the Premier League’s biggest clubs chasing him at various stages in the last couple of seasons.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Tottenham and Liverpool had been the main suitors for Wharton this summer, and it is unlikely that their interest in the midfielder will fade by the time their next opportunity to sign him comes around.

Ex-Spurs scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – believes that Wharton would improve upon the likes of James Maddison, but he also feels that Liverpool will hold the edge in any future decision from the youngster.

“Liverpool are certainly on the horizon for him (Wharton), as are Tottenham,” King said.

“I’ve liked him ever since he got in the team at Crystal Palace. I think he’s a very influential midfielder.

“He’s a better all-round player than Maddison. Maddison is obviously very clever with his free kicks, but Wharton has got a great engine, and he’ll run all day.

“I think he’s made the right decision to stay at Palace for another year, as it’s not going to alter anything.

“If it ever came to a straight choice between Liverpool and Spurs, I think he’d go to Liverpool.”

Tottenham need to keep Wharton in mind

Levy and Co. may have missed out on Wharton for the time being, but they need to ensure they continue to track his progress with a view to making a move later down the line.

The former Blackburn starlet has established himself as one of the country’s brightest young prospects, and there will be no shortage of interest in him as he continues to develop as a player.

Liverpool’s recent success would surely hand them the edge over Spurs at present, but if Frank can turn their fortunes around next term, it could see them gain a greater chance of landing the Palace star in the future.

Tottenham’s £60m+ Zabarnyi transfer move hinges on Romero exit – Exclusive

Tottenham’s £60m+ Zabarnyi transfer move hinges on Romero exit – Exclusive - tottenhamhotspurnews.com
Description

Tottenham have recently emerged as a candidate to sign Bournemouth’s Illia Zabarnyi this summer.

The centre back was excellent for the Cherries last term, as he missed just two Premier League games all season whilst helping Andoni Iraola’s side to an impressive ninth-place finish.

Zabarnyi is now wanted by Spurs this summer, with Daniel Levy reportedly understood to be prepared to match Bournemouth’s £60.5million valuation of the defender.

The Lilywhites are understood to be ready to battle PSG for the Ukrainian’s signature, but their chase of the 22-year-old looks like it could be about to be heavily impacted by matters elsewhere in N17.

Tottenham to halt Zabarnyi pursuit if Romero stays

Cristian Romero’s future has been one of the main talking points at Spurs this summer, as the Argentine has been continually linked with a move to Atletico Madrid.

MORE SPURS STORIES

However, it has emerged over the last few days that the former Atalanta man could be set to stay in North London, with the Lilywhites ready to offer him another new deal.

With Romero now potentially in line to remain at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, fresh light has been cast on the pursuit of Zabarnyi.

Ex-Spurs scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – feels that Tottenham simply don’t need to add another centre half to their ranks, unless one of their current stars is about to head out of the door.

“It all depends on whether Romero or [Micky] van de Ven are leaving the football club,” King said.

“Unless one of them is leaving, I can’t see the necessity to sign Zabarnyi because they’re quite strong at centre half. They’ve got Radu Dragusin, Ben Davies, (Djed) Spence, (Archie) Gray, and they can all play at the centre of defence.

“Why go and spend over £60m at Bournemouth again? They had a failure last year with that. [Dominic] Solanke never produced, given the kind of money that they paid for him.

“I think Spurs would struggle anyway if PSG are in for him.”

Tottenham should spend Zabarnyi money elsewhere

Zabarnyi is far from the first big-money link at Tottenham this summer, but with the North Londoners seemingly increasingly confident of keeping Romero, it makes sense for them to spend the money elsewhere instead.

They already have two international quality centre halves within their ranks, and while the Bournemouth man would provide another strong option, it’s unlikely that Thomas Frank would alter his system to account for all three.

With that in mind, there are other areas of the squad that could still use a boost ahead of the opening day of the campaign.

If Levy is adamant that he has the money to spend, then the fee that had been set aside for Zabarnyi could easily be invested across two or three positions elsewhere in the team.

Description

Jamie Donley is expected to be one of the first names on the teamsheet when Tottenham face Reading on Saturday.

Thomas Frank will get his first opportunity to show Spurs supporters what he is all about when Tottenham take on Reading (19 July) in the Lilywhites’ first pre-season friendly.

The confrontation will take place at the Select Car Leasing Stadium, and will be a chance for the Dane to survey his team.

And it seems Donley has made quite an impression, with the 20-year-old set to start against the Royals.

Donley expected to start as Tottenham’s number 10 v Reading

There was already an expectation that Donley would be given the chance to shine during pre-season.

MORE SPURS STORIES

The forward had an impressive loan spell at Leyton Orient last season, scoring eight goals and providing 11 assists in all competitions. As a result, fans have been keen to see how Donley performs under Frank.

And it seems like they’re in luck as Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – believes Donley will start in his natural position against Reading.

“I expect Donley to start against Reading in that number 10 role,” Wenham said.

“It would be good to see him play his natural position rather than when he’s playing at left back in the first team previously.

“I think George Abbott could also feature tomorrow, Ashley Phillips, Will Lankshear, and Mikey Moore as well. I know Oliver Irow trained this week with the first team too.”

Frank must use pre-season wisely at Tottenham

As Frank’s first pre-season at Tottenham, its importance cannot be understated.

There is always the concern that players will struggle to adapt with a new coach at the helm. However, pre-season will allow Frank the time to prepare his players for what is to come.

Furthermore, the tour will be a chance for him to decide on outgoings and potential incomings. Multiple players are entering the final 12 months of their contract, and the games will be a way for Frank to decide their futures.

As well as this, there are a few more signings Spurs hope to make. This includes Morgan Gibbs-White, whose transfer is currently being delayed by Nottingham Forest.

However, pre-season will allow the coach and Tottenham to better understand what profiles are missing. As such, this upcoming set of games may play a huge role in deciding how next season pans out.

Description

Tottenham have been strongly linked with a move for Yoane Wissa this summer.

Wissa has become one of the Premier League’s top strikers after being converted into a more traditional number nine by Thomas Frank, scoring a career-high 20 goals in all competitions last season.

The Democratic Republic of Congo international has attracted interest from a host of clubs this summer, with Newcastle being the latest to report an interest after missing out on Hugo Ekitike.

However, Wissa would prefer a reunion with Frank, who has been looking at bringing his former player to North London.

Wissa deal unlikely as Man United agree to sign Bryan Mbeumo

Frank’s arrival first saw Spurs linked with a move for Bryan Mbeumo, but their interest in the Cameroon forward cooled as he expressed a desire to join Manchester United instead.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Negotiations between the Bees and the Red Devils appeared to stall over a difference in valuation of the 24-year-old before Brentford finally accepted United’s latest offer of £71million.

This comes as double jeopardy for Frank, who not only loses out on one of his targets but is now far more unlikely to secure a deal for Wissa, as reported by Lyall Thomas (18 July).

The West London outfit made it clear that they did not want to lose both Mbeumo and Wissa in the same window, having already seen plenty of upheaval this summer.

Newcastle’s push for Wissa is likely what triggered Ruben Amorim’s side to hasten their approach for his strike partner, as they were aware of Brentford’s stance.

Frank will now likely have to look elsewhere for a striker and will hope to swiftly find an adequate alternative.

Frank to assess his options

Tottenham have made a concerted effort to bring in players with Premier League experience to help guide the young squad, as evidenced by their signing of Mohammed Kudus and ongoing pursuit of Morgan Gibbs-White.

Wissa ticks those boxes, but now that Brentford’s situation has changed, Spurs are running out of options.

They could still look to players like Rodrigo Muniz at Fulham or possibly Jean-Philippe Mateta at Crystal Palace, but are facing an uphill battle to find the right fit.

Frank may instead target bringing in another wide forward and focusing on converting someone like Mathys Tel into a more natural number nine, as he has done previously with players at Brentford.

Levy will make ‘unforgivable Tottenham mistake’ amid latest Moore exit news

Daniel Levy has made plenty of awful mistakes during his long reign as Tottenham chairman.

The 63-year-old has often been blamed for Spurs’ Premier League decline in recent years, and their struggle to lift trophies.

As a result, Tottenham fans protested regularly against Levy last season amid their disastrous domestic season.

Nevertheless, the Spurs chairman has remained in his post and has continued to make plenty of controversial decisions at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Borussia Dortmund want to sign Mikey Moore

Mikey Moore is seen as one of Tottenham’s best upcoming players.

MORE SPURS STORIES

The 17-year-old featured 19 times in the first team last season despite his age, and even netted in the Europa League.

Therefore, the potential of the winger is thought to be extremely high, and he could easily be a star player at the London club in the coming years.

However, his time at Spurs could be cut short, according to Bild (18 July).

Borussia Dortmund are searching for a replacement for Jamie Gittens, who has recently joined Chelsea, and have identified Moore as a potential replacement.

The German giants are looking to spend around £15.6 million on the attacker, but Spurs will only listen to loan offers without an option to buy.

However, if Dortmund manage to sway Levy to accept a permanent transfer for Moore for so little, it would be an unforgivable mistake.

Given the potential the 17-year-old has, Spurs have to keep hold of the attacker for the foreseeable future, and this must be non-negotiable if Tottenham want to progress.

Frank should build a team around Moore

Instead of loaning Moore out, Thomas Frank should look to keep hold of the 17-year-old and slowly start him more and more.

Eventually, a team should be built around the attacker, as he could go on to become Spurs’ best player in the future.

With Champions League football set for the upcoming season, the competition could once again provide Moore with excellent experience for his development.

Hopefully, the 17-year-old will get another chance to impress at Tottenham this campaign.

Description

Tottenham manager Thomas Frank looks to have hit his first stumbling block at Spurs.

Frank has so far been backed by Daniel Levy, who sanctioned the £55million signing of Mohammed Kudus, with Morgan Gibbs-White also potentially joining Tottenham.

However, the coming weeks may not be as smooth sailing for Spurs.

They look set to make a huge loss on the sale of Bryan Gil, and could now miss out on two of their key transfer targets.

Bryan Mbuemo to join Man United in double hit to Spurs

Despite the prospect of a reunion with his former manager, Mbuemo is set to join Manchester United.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Spurs were turned down by the Cameroon international, who is now headed to Old Trafford in a deal worth £71million.

The move will leave Frank furious that, despite having the advantage of coaching the player, Levy and Tottenham were unable to convince Mbuemo to move to North London.

Mbuemo’s move could also have a huge knock-on effect for Spurs and Brentford, with the West London club now unlikely to let Tottenham target Yoane Wissa leave.

It had been hoped that the 28-year-old would be willing to join the Lilywhites should Mbuemo choose to stay with Brentford.

Unless a sizeable offer comes in for the forward, Wissa will stay with the Bees this summer, and Frank’s side will have to look elsewhere.

Tottenham must prioritise defensive cover

Frank has so far prioritised attacking reinforcements this summer.

Should the Lilywhites sign Gibbs-White, they must move on to adding more depth to their backline.

Genoa defender Koni De Winter has been linked with a move to North London, but Levy must continue his search for defensive cover as they don’t want to face a situation where they are relying on Archie Gray at right-back again.

Description

Tottenham fans are waiting anxiously for updates on Nottingham Forest star Morgan Gibbs-White.

Spurs fans had their dreams snatched when Nottingham Forest blocked the signing of Gibbs-White.

It was reportedly all done on the players’ side, with a medical set to take place. However, Forest have argued they did not permit Tottenham to converse with their player and are threatening legal action.

Although it seems the Midlands outfit have only delayed the inevitable, with Gibbs-White still expected to make the move to North London.

Forest ‘contractually obligated’ to let Gibbs-White leave

At the heart of Forest’s complaint against Tottenham lies Gibbs-White’s £60million release clause.

MORE SPURS STORIES

The Garibaldis hold that the London club would not have known about his release clause unless they contacted the player. As a result, Forest believes that Spurs’ approach was illegal.

However, Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – believes Tottenham were well within their legal rights.

“I do think he’s going to be a Spurs player,” Wenham said.

“I find the whole saga bizarre, if I’m being honest with you. At the end of the day, if Forest have an issue, that issue lies with the agent of the player; it doesn’t lie with Tottenham.

“Tottenham are aware of a £60m release clause. Tottenham have sent their email making an offer to Forest. At that point, they should have been able to have Gibbs-White come down, take a medical, and sign for Tottenham.

“If the player wants to go and it’s in the player’s contract, he has to be allowed to go. It’s as simple as that. You can’t ask somebody to sign a contract that includes a release clause and then say, ‘Well, actually, every single time it’s activated, we’re going to claim there has been a breach of confidentiality.’ It’s just not how basic UK contract law works.

“You can’t offer somebody something and then at the same time restrict access. If it’s in the contract, it’s in the contract. Tottenham have done exactly what is fair and right by making the appropriate offer for the player, and them digging their heels in this situation is quite frankly, just delaying everything.”

Tottenham may not make any more attacking signings

The North London club could stop the search for another attacking player if Gibbs-White arrives at Hotspur Way.

With the signing of Mohammed Kudus in addition to James Madison, Dejan Kulusevski and several wide players, Spurs are stacked in this position. As a result, Tottenham could now turn their attention toward a more defensively-minded midfielder.
