Description

Thomas Frank remains keen to add to his attacking options at Tottenham Hotspur after missing out on Morgan Gibbs-White.

Morgan Gibbs-White committed his future to Nottingham Forest by signing a new deal at the City Ground until 2028.

The 25-year-old’s move leaves Spurs having to look elsewhere for midfield targets following two weeks of waiting around for the situation to resolve itself.

Tottenham have already identified four Gibbs-White alternatives, TBR Football understands, and one of those options could be landed by making him a key promise.

Tottenham could offer Harvey Elliott chance to play number ten

One of the players on Tottenham Hotspur’s four-man shortlist is Liverpool attacker Harvey Elliott, as revealed by TBR Football on Tuesday.

The 22-year-old has just enjoyed a superb summer at the European Championships, helping England U-21 to win the competition.

The Liverpool star netted five goals in six matches for the young Three Lions, and he will be eager to build on his successful tournament next season.

But at Liverpool, with the arrival of Florian Wirtz and Mohamed Salah already on the right, opportunities are expected to be few and far between for the youngster. Therefore, a move away beckons.

At his next club, TBR Football understands that Elliott is keen to play in the number ten role, something which Spurs could offer him.

Thomas Frank was clearly keen to add to his creative midfield options, especially given James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski’s injury worries.

Elliott, who’s been compared to Kulusevski, can also play on either flank and in a deeper number eight role, which would make him a great squad option for Frank.

Liverpool value Elliott at £50m, which is rather steep for a player who doesn’t have a future at Anfield, but surely a price that could be reduced.

West Ham United and Newcastle also want Harvey Elliott

Tottenham are not alone in their interest in signing the former Fulham academy graduate this summer, with many other clubs keen.

West Ham think they can sign Elliott, having recently sold Mohammed Kudus to Spurs for £55m.

Newcastle have also shown an interest in the attacker, although that could now have cooled with Anthony Elanga arriving from Nottingham Forest.

Description

Luka Modric has advised Real Madrid star Rodrygo not to leave Spain this summer amid Tottenham Hotspur interest.

TBR Football exclusively revealed that Rodrygo is open to a Spurs move, with Daniel Levy set to make him the club’s highest earner if he were to make the switch.

The Brazilian is undoubtedly one of the world’s best players, and Spurs fans will be licking their lips at the prospect of the 24-year-old coming to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. However, any sort of deal is a long way off.

Real Madrid value Rodrygo at around £70m, and there is still doubt he’d even leave Spain for the Premier League. One of his former teammates, Luka Modric, has also told the winger to stay and fight for his place at the Bernabeu.

Luka Modric told Rodrygo to stay at Real Madrid

According to a report published this month from Defensa Central, Modric has told Rodrygo to avoid the ‘mistake’ of leaving Madrid for another club this summer.

The outlet claims Modric told Rodrygo: ‘It’s a mistake to leave. They have to push you out of Real Madrid, but never leave yourself, especially not because of competition.’

This was amid Arsenal’s interest in Rodrygo, but now it’s seemingly Tottenham’s turn. And, despite Modric’s pleas, things are taking shape.

It’s said that Tottenham will consider moving for the two-time Champions League winner should Son Heung-min leave the club in this window, but with growing interest from LAFC, this is once again a definite possibility.

Modric a big fan of Rodrygo for years

Spurs will be getting a world-beater if they pull this off. Rodrygo is of an elite profile, one which Tottenham have not attracted, well, ever.

Modric knew Rodrygo’s talents from an early age. In 2022, with the winger just 20 years old, he said the following about the Madrid man.

“Rodrygo is a very good and special boy. We get on really well,” Modric begins.

“He told me that I’m the same age as his dad and that’s why I told him to call me dad because he needs to listen to me. He’s a very good player and is performing really well and I’m delighted for him because he’s gracious and has both feet firmly on the ground.

“He brings a lot to the team when he comes off the bench. He now needs to keep on going and in terms of the areas where I’ve helped him out, you’d have to ask him on that one.”

Why Tottenham want Rangers loan for Mikey Moore over Sheffield United or Championship move - TBR Football
Description

TBR Football understands that Rangers manager Russell Martin wants Mikey Moore and has held talks with Tottenham directly to convince them that Ibrox is the best place for him.

The 17-year-old has not been short of loan interest, with nearly half the Championship asking about signing him for next season.

Moore was left out of Spurs’ pre-season tour squad, which travelled to Asia to discuss a potential move away from North London.

A temporary switch to Ibrox now looks to be his most likely destination at this moment in time, with both the player and Tottenham open to the move to Rangers.

Sources: Tottenham happy with Rangers loan move for Mikey Moore

Tottenham Hotspur have appreciated what they have heard from Rangers and they are happy for Mikey Moore to join them on loan, sources have told TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey.

Russell Martin held direct talks with the North London club about the move and has convinced them to loan him one of their brightest young talents.

Sheffield United were showing the strongest interest from the Championship; however, Rangers look set to win the race.

Tottenham recently appointed Stuart Lewis, who was Moore’s coach during his time in the U-18s, and he’s been tasked with integrating academy stars into the first team.

At Spurs, Moore faces strong competition for his place in the team, with the Lilywhites well stocked in the wide areas.

Tottenham are also exploring a move for Rodrygo, as TBR Football exclusively revealed, meaning his minutes would have been rather limited next season.

Meanwhile, the Scottish giants could have Champions League football on offer next season for the teenager if they defeat Panathinaikos.

Currently, they lead the Greek side 2-0 following their win in Glasgow last Tuesday and are due to travel for the second leg on Wednesday.

Mikey Moore compared to Rangers’ other winger options

Moore will likely be competing with Jeidi Gassama and Oscar Cortes for a spot on the left side of Rangers’ attack.

Gassama was signed from Sheffield Wednesday earlier this summer and Cortes was also added this window from RC Lens.

The Tottenham academy star can also play on the right side, where Rangers are also well stocked with Rabbi Matondo and Ross McCausland.

Rangers could also sign Jesurun Rak-Sakyi from Crystal Palace, with the winger keen on a move to Ibrox over his other options.

But assurances over minutes mean that as long as the youngster is performing, he will have no issue getting plenty of minutes north of the border.

Tottenham and Newcastle eyeing 'one of the finest technicians of his generation' - other Premier League clubs also keen - TBR Football
Description

TBR Football can exclusively reveal that Tottenham and Newcastle are both monitoring Bilal El Khannouss.

The Morocco international arrived in the Premier League last August in a £21m move from Genk, but was unable to help Leicester avoid relegation despite some impressive performances.

Several sides believe Bilal El Khannouss is – however – capable of staying in the Premier League despite the Foxes dropping into the Championship, with Tottenham and Newcastle among several interested parties.

Exclusive: Tottenham and Newcastle admire Bilal El Khannouss along with Arsenal and Leeds

Graeme Bailey – Chief Correspondent at TBR Football – has now been informed that both Spurs and the Magpies are keeping tabs on the Leicester No.11 as his future remains uncertain.

We understand El Khannouss is expecting to leave the King Power Stadium this summer after the Foxes made a swift return to the Championship, with several Premier League sides keen in addition to Tottenham and Newcastle.

TBR Football have been told both Crystal Palace and Arsenal like the African attacker, with Sunderland – who are set to sign Granit Xhaka – Leeds and West Ham also keeping tabs.

Away from England, RB Leipzig admire Khannouss – as do Eintracht Frankfurt, Monaco, Atalanta and Valencia.

The aforementioned Bailey says: “El Khannouss is a fascinating player – very similar to Rayan Cherki in terms of talent. Many clubs rate him as one of the finest technicians of his generation.”

In a struggling Leicester side, the 21-year-old scored two goals and provided three assists in 32 Premier League appearances last season.

What Pep Guardiola told Bilal El Khannouss

Whoever manages to sign the Moroccan this summer will presumably get the seal of approval from a legendary manager.

El Khannouss revealed Pep Guardiola of all coaches praised him after Leicester suffered a 2-0 defeat against Manchester City back in December, telling Sporza: “He said he was impressed by my play today.

“I know myself and this is the player I can be. I have to show that every week now.”

Evidently, El Khannouss is a special talent.

Rodrygo open to Tottenham move this summer as Spurs ready to make him highest earner - TBR Football
Description

TBR Football can exclusively reveal that Rodrygo Goes has indicated that he would be open to joining Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

TBR Football understands that the winger’s entourage are assessing his options, having already spoken to Arsenal and Liverpool.

Tottenham Hotspur have now started discussions with intermediaries, as the North London club are keen to understand Rodrygo’s situation.

Real Madrid value Rodrygo at around £70m, which would mean Spurs would need to significantly break their transfer record to sign the Brazilian.

Exclusive: Rodrygo Goes open to Tottenham Hotspur transfer

Tottenham will consider moving for Rodrygo Goes should Son Heung-min leave the football club this summer, sources have told TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey.

Spurs are prepared to make a statement signing if the South Korean legend were to depart, and have also budgeted to allow for a big-name addition.

At this stage, TBR Football can confirm that Son is now seriously considering a move to LAFC after they made a renewed push to sign him.

The Real Madrid star is one of the names they would consider should he be open to moving to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Part of the North London club’s talks are now around the fact that Rodrygo has shown a willingness to join Thomas Frank’s team.

TBR Football also understands that Tottenham have made it known that they would be willing to make the 24-year-old their highest-paid player.

The winger’s options to leave the Spanish capital are starting to dwindle somewhat, with Bayern Munich agreeing to sign Luis Diaz.

Elsewhere, Liverpool’s focus is on signing Alexander Isak and Eberechi Eze is confident that he’s joining Arsenal.

Rodrygo Goes will be wary of Brazil World Cup spot

Spurs would offer Rodrygo the chance of playing Champions League football and a regular starting spot in his favoured role on the left-hand side.

Rodrygo enjoyed a solid campaign last term as he netted 14 goals and 11 assists in 54 matches, featuring mostly off the right.

But now, the player will know that at Madrid, his spot in the team under Xabi Alonso is far from guaranteed, which is not an ideal situation ahead of next summer’s World Cup.

Given the competition for places in the Brazilian national team, Rodrygo will want assurances of a starting spot at the Santiago Bernabeu if he is to stay.

The player is currently still on holiday, having played at the FIFA Club World Cup with Madrid and is due for talks with Alonso over his future.

Tottenham draw up four-man shortlist of Morgan Gibbs-White alternatives, including £50m Liverpool talent - TBR Football
Description

TBR Football understands that Tottenham Hotspur have put together a shortlist of other targets after missing out on Morgan Gibbs-White.

As TBR Football revealed on Sunday, Tottenham were shocked by Gibbs-White’s new contract with Nottingham Forest, which ended their pursuit of the 25-year-old.

Tottenham thought they’d activated Gibbs-White’s release clause, however, Forest have managed to convince their captain to reject Spurs’ interest and commit his future at the City Ground.

Now, the North London club have already started looking elsewhere and have drawn up a shortlist of alternative targets.

Sources: Tottenham have several Morgan Gibbs-White alternatives lined up

Tottenham Hotspur already have several Morgan Gibbs-White alternatives lined up and have started talks with these options, TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey can confirm.

Bailey told TBR Football: “Gibbs-White was disappointing to them as we know, but there are going to be no knee-jerk reactions. They have done work on a lot of players, they have several options they like.”

Aside from making Kevin Danso and Mathys Tel’s deals permanent, the Lilywhites have only signed Mohammed Kudus and Kota Takai so far.

Spurs will need to start looking to accelerate these plans, with almost two weeks until the UEFA Super Cup final against Paris Saint-Germain.

Harvey Elliott

TBR Football understands that Harvey Elliott is amongst the list of players Tottenham are discussing internally.

Liverpool value Elliott at around £50m, as revealed by TBR Football, which makes him a decent option for several clubs.

TBR Football first reported Tottenham’s interest in Elliott back in June, with the North London club one of several Premier League clubs closely monitoring his situation.

Now, after missing out on Gibbs-White, the Lilywhites could turn their attention to the Liverpool attacker instead.

Elliott is capable of featuring both as a right winger and as a number ten, which would make him a great squad option for Thomas Frank, plus he would be homegrown.

Alejandro Garnacho

Tottenham are one of the clubs monitoring Alejandro Garnacho, with the winger set to depart Old Trafford this summer.

Aston Villa and Chelsea are also in the race to sign the 21-year-old, with Manchester United making him available for transfer this summer.

Reports claim that Man United want £40m for Garnacho, which is quite a step down from the £70m they wanted back in January.

TBR Football revealed during the last transfer window that Tottenham asked about Garnacho before opting to sign Mathys Tel instead.

The Argentine would likely be more of a replacement for Son Heung-min, who remains in talks with LAFC, rather than an option in the number ten role.

Jacob Ramsey

Jacob Ramsey is another player on Spurs’ list and the North London club have been keen on the 24-year-old since last summer.

Aston Villa are open to selling Ramsey with the feeling that it could benefit both parties, as the club would get a straight profit on him and the player would get more game time elsewhere.

Spurs and Newcastle United have been alerted to the situation of the Villa academy star and are weighing up moves for him.

James McAtee

Nottingham Forest were considering James McAtee before they managed to tie Gibbs-White down to a new contract.

The midfielder has just 12 months left on his contract, and Manchester City are now open to selling the England U-21 captain for just £20m this summer.

City have sold some big-name stars over recent years, most notably Cole Palmer, Jeremie Frimpong, Romeo Lavia, Jadon Sancho and Liam Delap.

Description

TBR Football can exclusively reveal that Aston Villa star Boubacar Kamara attracted the interest of Arsenal and Tottenham this summer, but now the player is firmly staying put at Villa Park.

It’s been a quiet summer at Aston Villa thus far, with Unai Emery seemingly biding his time in the transfer market.

Villa have signed Marco Bizot, and Emery has also swooped for several wonderkids, with the latest looking like Jaydee Canvot linking up with the Villans.

But perhaps Villa’s biggest wins this summer will come not from new arrivals, but from the key players they’ve managed to keep, with Boubacar Kamara chief among them.

Exclusive: Tottenham and Arsenal wanted Boubacar Kamara of Aston Villa

TBR Football can exclusively reveal through chief correspondent Graeme Bailey that Tottenham and Arsenal were both interested in purchasing Kamara this summer.

Bailey said: “On Boubacar Kamara – I’m told he was firmly on Arsenal’s long list of midfield targets this summer. Tottenham also really liked him and made an enquiry, but it quickly became clear he wouldn’t be leaving Aston Villa.

“One interesting note: PSG were said to be very impressed with Kamara during their Champions League meetings with Villa, and they’re now expected to keep tabs on him going forward.”

The Frenchman has been very impressive since he got to Villa Park – and that’s why it’s no surprise that Emery locked down a new contract for the 25-year-old.

Boubacar Kamara signed new Aston Villa contract

TBR Football confirmed in April that Aston Villa began contract talks with Kamara. On Thursday evening, the French international signed a new long-term deal until 2030 with Aston Villa.

Speaking from the club’s pre-season trip to the USA, Kamara revealed he was “very happy” to be staying at Villa.

“I am very happy for this new contract,” he told VillaTV. “I can’t wait to come back to Villa Park.”

He added: “It was very easy, I like to be here. My family enjoy it in Birmingham, and I like the team and the manager – the decision was easy.”

Kamara will be a player that continues to attract interest from Europe’s top clubs, but for the time being, he remains firmly a Villan.

Tottenham in talks over loan deal for £13m player, but Thomas Frank could regret letting him leave

Tottenham in talks over loan deal for £13m player, but Thomas Frank could regret letting him leave - TBR Football
Description

Tottenham Hotspur still have plenty of work to do in the transfer window with both incomings and outgoings.

Thomas Frank’s squad have travelled away from pre-season with Mohammed Kudus and Kota Takai the only new additions to the squad.

Meanwhile, Spurs are yet to offload any of their players on permanent deals, with the squad still looking rather bloated.

Several youngsters have remained in London to seek loan moves away, but there is one player in talks to leave on loan, which could raise a few eyebrows.

Tottenham in talks to send Antonin Kinsky on loan to Lille

Tottenham Hotspur are in talks with Lille over a potential loan deal for goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky, according to L’Equipe.

The French club have set their sights on the young Czech Republic goalkeeper as their priority in their hunt for a new shotstopper.

Paris Saint-Germain are in talks to sign Lucas Chevalier in a deal worth around £35 million, but first, the French club want a replacement sorted.

The report from France claims that talks have started over a deal to sign Kinsky, who Tottenham signed for £12.5m. This could also explain why he missed Spurs’ double header of friendlies on Saturday.

Brandon Austin started against Wycombe Wanderers, meanwhile, Guglielmo Vicario started in net against Luton Town, with Kinsky on the bench.

Kinsky’s ability with the ball has impressed during training, but question marks remain over his ability as a shotstopper, and perhaps a loan could benefit him.

But given the way Frank wants his team to build from the back and bait teams into pressing them, Kinsky’s ability with his feet could make him a useful asset.

Tottenham recently appointed Fabian Otte as their new goalkeeping coach, after he left Premier League champions Liverpool at the end of last season.

Mikey Moore, Alfie Devine and Dane Scarlett could also be heading out on loan, with the trio all missing the trip to Asia to explore potential moves away from Spurs.

Brandon Austin as Guglielmo Vicario backup might not be sensible

Keeping Brandon Austin as the Guglielmo Vicario backup might not be sensible given the former’s display against Wycombe.

The Spurs academy graduate conceded twice against the League One outfit, with the first goal going right through him in a calamitous moment for the 26-year-old.

Despite praise from Dejan Kulusevski, Austin being Spurs’ number two goalkeeper for the 2025/26 season could prove to be a disaster waiting to happen.

Loaning out Kinsky to get regular minutes in Ligue 1 could be great for his development, but it leaves Frank short in the goalkeeping department.

Tottenham fans convinced Cristian Romero will have a new role under Thomas Frank after Wycombe draw

Description

Cristian Romero is expected to be a key member at Tottenham Hotspur during the new era under Thomas Frank.

Romero played 74 minutes in Tottenham Hotspur’s 2-2 draw at Hotspur Way against Wycombe Wanderers.

The North London club are expected to depart on Monday for their tour of Asia, in which they are due to face Newcastle United and Arsenal.

But ahead of the trip, Spurs fans think that Thomas Frank is set to make a rather interesting decision involving their current vice-captain.

Tottenham fans think Cristian Romero is going to be made captain

Tottenham fans believe that Frank is going to make Cristian Romero the next captain at the football club after footage from half-time in the Wycombe game emerges.

Romero and Frank were spotted in deep conversation during the break, in what appeared to be a discussion about tactics.

Currently, the 27-year-old is the vice-captain behind Son Heung-min, however, the South Korean’s future at Tottenham is in doubt.

Meanwhile, Romero looks set to stay at Tottenham following Atletico Madrid’s failed pursuit of the Argentine defender.

The Danish head coach will have known that one of his first tasks when he arrived at the club was to get the World Cup winner on his side.

After a training session last week, Frank was spotted with his arm around Romero, as he continues to win over the defender.

Now, Spurs fans have taken to X to share their thoughts on Romero and Frank’s half-time interaction and believe he could be set for a new role very soon.

One fan said: “Looks like a captain and coach talking.”

Meanwhile, another claimed: “That’s a captain and manager talking if ever I’ve seen it.”

There were further suggestions that Romero would soon be made captain: “Even if Son stays, which I don’t think he will, Cuti is getting that armband.”

“You easily could take from this that Romero may be the captain come Burnley or sooner, but I’d expect this in general,” stated another supporter.

Frank failed to rule out giving Romero the armband during his first press conference, and with Son in line to leave.

James Maddison would be the other option to replace the 33-year-old should he leave, but at this stage, Romero appears to be first in line.

Son Heung-min could be sold for £20 million

TBR Football has already reported that Son can leave for a suitable offer this summer, with LAFC having held talks to sign him.

But the final decision is set to be made by the player himself, and Tottenham will respect whatever decision he makes.

In terms of a valuation, Tottenham would be open to selling Son for around £20 million, as per Give Me Sport.

Son agreed to a one-year contract extension at the start of the year, which will see his contract run until next summer.

After Morgan Gibbs-White contract decision, Tottenham now shift focus to £79m Liverpool target instead

After Morgan Gibbs-White contract decision, Tottenham now shift focus to £79m Liverpool target instead - TBR Football
Description

Tottenham will no longer be signing Morgan Gibbs-White this summer.

Spurs looked set to swiftly add the England international to the signing of Mohammed Kudus at the beginning of July, triggering the £60m release clause written into his Nottingham Forest contract.

However, the deal stalled as Evangelos Marinakis threatened to report Tottenham to the Premier League over what he deemed to be an illegal approach, and in the meantime, was able to convince Morgan Gibbs-White to sign a new deal.

Now – according to AS in Spain – Tottenham are ready to turn attention towards Rodrygo after this development.

Tottenham move on to Rodrygo

The Spanish news outlet now state that Spurs are going to make attempts to sign the Brazil international after missing out on Gibbs-White.

AS write that Tottenham have just “burst in” to the Rodrygo saga after interest from Arsenal cooled following the signing of Viktor Gyokeres – adding that the north Londoners have money to spend for Thomas Frank.

It is said that Spurs will try to talk Real Madrid down from their current asking price of €90m (£79m) – presumably hoping to negotiate a fee closer to the £60m Daniel Levy was willing to spend on Gibbs-White.

Rodrygo does not seem to be a key player under Xabi Alonso, who handed the South American just 92 minutes of action at the FIFA Club World Cup this summer.

However, AS mention that the Brazilian wants to be told this for certain by the Spaniard during talks before making any decision on joining a new club.

Rodrygo – who Real Madrid signed from Santos for £39m at the age of 17 – has scored 68 goals and provided 51 assists in 270 appearances for the Spanish giants.

Tottenham face competition from Liverpool

Arne Slot has bolstered his squad quite substantially after winning the Premier League title last season, with Liverpool already spending close to £260m on the signings of Florian Wirtz, Milos Kerkez, Jeremie Frimpong and Hugo Ekitike.

More incomings are expected as Bayern Munich close in on the signing of Luis Diaz – with Darwin Nunez also expected to leave.
