Description

Gareth Bale is a Tottenham legend.

The Welshman joined Spurs as an unassuming 17-year-old from Southampton for a sum of £5m, before going on to score 71 goals and provide 53 assists in 237 appearances across two spells at Tottenham.

Tottenham also earned a then world-record fee of £85.3m when selling the man from Cardiff to Real Madrid back in September 2013.

The brilliance of Gareth Bale is now nothing but a memory for Tottenham fans to cling on to, but the heir to his throne is likely to join this summer in Tyler Dibling.

Tottenham backed as the most likely club to sign Tyler Dibling

In an article from talkSPORT – which explains the latest transfer developments at Manchester United – this exciting claim was made.

It is said that the Red Devils are keen to sign Dibling – who Theo Walcott likened to Gareth Bale – but Spurs are then described as the ‘most concrete suitor’ for the Southampton No.33 this summer.

It comes after the 19-year-old enjoyed a breakout season with the Saints last term, scoring four goals and providing three assists across 38 appearances.

How much Tyler Dibling could cost Spurs with Southampton No.33 keen on switch to N17

TBR Football understand Dibling is keen to join Tottenham this summer after Southampton were relegated to the Championship, finishing bottom of the Premier League on a measly 12 points.

Southampton annoyed Tottenham by going public with a £100m valuation of the England U21 international back in March – according to the Telegraph.

However, a sale could materialise for roughly half of that fee.

Tottenham Hotspur supporters reckon the club are hinting that they’re about to make their second summer signing after Kevin Danso.

Tottenham signed Danso permanently for £21 million in what is likely to be one of their best value deals of the whole summer transfer window. There is a belief at Spurs that Danso could start next season if Cristian Romero leaves.

Currently, any further business is being delayed due to the manager’s situation, with a decision on Ange Postecoglou’s future expected to arrive this week.

But with that said, there is now a belief among Spurs fans that their second summer signing is not far off following the club’s latest social media posts.

Tottenham fans think the club will sign Mathys Tel permanently

Tottenham fans believe that the club are hinting that Mathys Tel’s move from Bayern Munich will eventually be made permanent.

It’s worth noting that Tel’s loan at Tottenham continues until June 30, so technically, he is still a Spurs player, but supporters think this is a good indicator that they’re going to make the move permanent.

Tel impressed for France’s Under-21 as he came off the bench to help them win 2-1 against Uzbekistan, whilst teammate Wilson Odobert managed to get on the scoresheet.

Should Spurs sack Postecoglou, there is a feeling that Tel could explode under Thomas Frank, who is the current favourite for the job.

Tottenham have held talks with Frank about replacing the Australian manager, and there is a fear at Brentford that he could leave, TBR Football has revealed.

One fan claimed: “Basically confirming that Tel is staying and will get platformed properly by Frank.”

Another added: “Think this is a good indicator that we’ll make Tel permanent. Before you say anything. Yes, I realise that his loan is until June 30.”

There were further suggestions about what the post meant for Tel’s future: “Tottenham socials are all making great efforts to reference and promote Mathys Tel, it seems he’s definitely staying.”

Finally, another supporter added: “The fact we’re still sharing Tel as one of our own gives me goosebumps… Please, may he just sign on a permanent deal.”

Tottenham are working on Mathys Tel deal

TBR Football understands that Tottenham are working to sign Tel permanently, with the North London club having been delighted with the Frenchman’s application in the capital. The Lilywhites are keen to reduce their £50m option to buy him down to around £33.5m.

Meanwhile, the player himself is keen to make the move having settled nicely into life in London and with Champions League football now on offer next season.

The 20-year-old didn’t quite perform as he would have liked following his loan move in January, but it’s clear that he is a very talented player.

Description

Tottenham Hotspur are looking to replace Ange Postecoglou and have spoken to a candidate who could be great for Archie Gray’s future at the club.

Despite helping Tottenham Hotspur to win their first major trophy in 17 years, Daniel Levy could sack Ange Postecoglou following what was a shocking Premier League campaign.

The decision on Postecoglou’s future is expected to arrive this week, with the club’s supporters keen to have some clarity over who will be the manager next season.

The North London club have been speaking to potential replacements over recent weeks and one of the leading contenders could be the perfect man to help mould Gray into a top midfielder.

Thomas Frank tried to sign Archie Gray before he joined Tottenham

As revealed by TBR Football, Tottenham have held talks with Thomas Frank about becoming the next manager of the football club and he is now believed to be the leading contender.

This could be great news for Archie Gray as the Danish manager attempted to sign the teenager for Brentford before his move to Tottenham.

Gray had a medical at Brentford and agreed personal terms before changing his mind over a move to West London and instead he opted to travel across the capital to sign for Spurs.

Frank, who’s been called a ‘genius’, was eager to bring him to the West London club and even submitted a club-record offer of £40m in an attempt to get him from Leeds United.

Whilst Gray will be delighted with how much game time he got under Postecoglou last season, there is a sense that he’d prefer to be playing in midfield.

The 19-year-old featured in the middle of the park on just seven occasions last term, the role in which Spurs initially signed him to play.

Given the efforts that Frank went to in order to try and bring the player to the G-Tech Stadium last summer, he might be up for trusting him in the midfield.

What Archie Gray has said about Ange Postecoglou

However, Gray also remains a big supporter of Postecoglou having thanked the Australian for trusting him so much last season.

Gray told Tottenham Hotspur on YouTube: “I’ve said it before, I’m just extremely grateful for every minute he’s put me on the pitch.

“I don’t care where I play, for how long I play, I’m 19 years old, so I’m just extremely grateful for him trusting me and putting me on the pitch.”

Description

A tough decision is facing Daniel Levy as he decides whether to sack Ange Postecoglou as manager of Tottenham Hotspur.

Despite helping Spurs end their 17-year wait for a trophy, Levy could sack Postecoglou following what was a shocking Premier League campaign.

The verdict on Postecoglou’s future is expected to arrive this week, and the North London club’s supporters will be eager for clarity over their plans for next season.

There are several Tottenham players still backing Postecoglou, and one of those players is Lucas Bergvall, who is a huge supporter of the Australian.

Lucas Bergvall has big admiration for Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham

Bergvall has ‘a lot of admiration’ for Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham and the midfielder would be upset if he were to be sacked, according to James Olley.

Postecoglou has done a lot for the young Swede this season, who has established himself as one of Spurs’ best players.

Olley told ESPN FC: “There will be a lot of players who have done well, Lucas Bergvall is one, I know that he particularly has a lot of admiration for Postecoglou.

“He’s done a lot for him this year, broken into the team this season and signed a new contract. My understanding is that it came about because he was rewarded for the way he’s played and Postecoglou by all accounts the driving force behind that.”

The 19-year-old played a big role in Tottenham’s Europa League triumph, and his form across the season earned him a new contract.

After signing his new contract, Bergvall’s value has increased to £50m and even at that price, the Lilywhites are unlikely to part ways with him.

Ledley King’s been very impressed with Bergvall, with the former Tottenham captain singing his praises earlier this year.

Meanwhile, Postecoglou also hailed Bergvall, admitting that he wouldn’t be happy if he wasn’t still coaching him in two or three years.

Other Tottenham players still backing Ange Postecoglou

Pedro Porro doesn’t want Tottenham to sack Postecoglou and has spoken out this week about why the Lilywhites should continue with the Australian in charge.

The Spaniard revealed that keeping the 59-year-old would be great for the dressing room after he helped the club to win a trophy.

Tottenham want to sign defender who Antonio Conte called a ‘soldier’ if Cristian Romero leaves

Description

Tottenham Hotspur need reinforcements in multiple areas of their pitch this summer.

Spurs had a disastrous 2024/25 domestic season, but they salvaged it in the end by winning the Europa League and qualifying for the Champions League.

The future of Ange Postecoglou remains up in the air, but irrespective of who their manager will be next season, new signings are a necessity.

A top-class central defender will be the priority if Cristian Romero leaves this summer, and Spurs have a target in mind.

Tottenham eye move for Amir Rrahmani

Romero has been heavily linked with a move away from Tottenham this summer.

The Argentina international has his flaws, but he has produced several fantastic performances for Spurs over the years.

Romero was absolutely brilliant in the Europa League final against Manchester United as well, and Postecoglou has publicly made it clear that he wants the defender to stay.

But, if Romero does leave Tottenham, Calcio Napoli 24 have claimed that Spurs are interested in signing Napoli star Amir Rrahmani.

The Kosovo international has been on Napoli’s books for over five years now, and he has established himself as a key player.

Rrahmani has helped the Partenopei win two Serie A titles in three years, and his performances have caught Tottenham’s eye.

The report claims that Napoli want to keep Rrahmani, but ‘strong interest from Tottenham’ could complicate things for the Italian giants this summer.

What Antonio Conte has said about Tottenham target Amir Rrahmani

Antonio Conte’s time at Tottenham didn’t end well, but every Spurs fan will agree that he is one of the best managers in the world.

Conte’s style of play was not great when he was at Spurs, but the one thing he knows better than most others is how to form a solid defence.

The Italian has done that in Italy with Rrahmani and his centre-back partner Alessandro Buongiorno.

Speaking about the pair, Conte said last year, as per Telegrafi: “Alessandro, considering his age, has wide margins and is improving in many aspects, he is thoughtful, receptive, when you tell him something, he absorbs it immediately.

“Next to him, he is lucky to have someone like Amir (Rrahmani), who is a soldier, a robot, he is calibrated, he is a computer, he surprised me that he is very hardworking”.

Daniel Levy wouldn’t be willing to pay what it takes to sign ‘incredible’ player for Tottenham

Daniel Levy wouldn’t be willing to pay what it takes to sign ‘incredible’ player for Tottenham - TBR Football
Description

One of Tottenham Hotspur’s top summer transfer targets is making huge demands to join the club, and it is unlikely that Daniel Levy will match his request.

Tottenham’s transfer plans are currently on hold, with Ange Postecoglou’s future being decided by Daniel Levy.

Levy is considering sacking Postecoglou, as despite him helping to end their 17-year wait for a trophy, Spurs finished 17th in the Premier League.

But despite the uncertainty surrounding the manager’s situation, work is ongoing in the background in preparation for Champions League football next season. However, one of Tottenham’s top targets might be about to get away due to his extortionate demands.

Tottenham won’t match Leroy Sane’s wage demands

Tottenham Hotspur are unwilling to match Leroy Sane’s £300,000-a-week wage demands, according to journalist Dean Jones.

Jones told Transfers From Paradise: “Absolutely not, no. Tottenham remain cautious as they head into the next window. They are open-minded about bringing in a marquee player, but the prospect of them going even beyond £200,000-a-week is unlikely.”

Sane, who’s been described as ‘incredible’, is free to leave Bayern Munich this summer as his contract with the German champions is due to expire at the end of the month.

Tottenham are keen on Sane as they look to make a marquee signing, having just secured qualification back into the Champions League.

Sane is also being targeted by Arsenal, with Mikel Arteta keen to work with the German international once having coached him at Manchester City.

However, the 29-year-old’s huge contract demands could make it tricky for him to remain in Europe and especially to make a return move to the Premier League.

Tottenham’s top five current highest earners

Tottenham would have to smash their current wage structure in order to bring Sane back to England.

The North London club’s current top earner is Son Heung-min, who is on around £190,000-per-week, with James Maddison the next highest receiving a weekly wage of £170,000.

The Lilywhites may need to reconsider their wage bill if they want to start competing at the highest level and sign the top players.

But rightfully, Spurs should be steering well clear of Sane’s weekly wage request of £300,000, which probably wouldn’t be the best investment considering his age.

The football doesn’t stop for Mathys Tel and Wilson Odobert who have gone away on international duty with France’s Under-21 team.

The Tottenham Hotspur duo both produced impressive performances for their national team’s U21 side, with Odobert even getting on the scoresheet.

Both French youngsters showed a great deal of potential at Spurs last season, however, they often found themselves in and out of the team under Ange Postecoglou.

But following another solid showing for France Under-21, Spurs supporters are in agreement over what should happen to the pair next season.

Mathys Tel and Wilson Odobert impress for France’s Under-21

Mathys Tel and Wilson Odobert both came off the bench for France’s Under-21 team and impressed in a 2-1 win over Uzbekistan.

It wasn’t the toughest of opposition for the French youth side, however, the Tottenham Hotspur duo made light work of the team in front of them.

The pair combined nicely on several occasions, and some quality link-up between the front line, which involved Odobert and Tel, saw the latter find the back of the net.

Odobert made just 12 starts for Tottenham last season, while Tel managed 13 starts after arriving on loan from Bayern Munich in January.

Tottenham fans are now hopeful that both attackers will get more opportunities to feature next season following their impressive displays for France.

One fan said: “I feel like Odobert and Tel just didn’t get the chance to see enough because they played in those B teams. Both looked good, but I want to see them when games matter more.”

Another added: “Understand the level of opponent isn’t great, but my word, Odobert is going to be a baller in the right environment.”

Speaking about Tel and Odobert’s relationship: “Even in the poor B team vs Forest and Villa you could see it, they work off each other really well.”

“Odobert, like many others, has been a victim of playing in a B unit (the one that played in the Premier League) that was a complete disaster.”

Mathys Tel looks sharp in France Under-21 training

France released footage of Tel looking very sharp in front of goal during the Under-21’s training session as he continues to show much promise.

TBR Football understands that Tottenham are working to sign Tel permanently, having been so impressed with the Frenchman behind the scenes.

Meanwhile, the 20-year-old is also keen to make the switch, having become well settled in London and Champions League football on offer at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Ange Postecoglou saga takes new turn at Tottenham, as journalist shares update he maybe ‘shouldn’t reveal’

Ange Postecoglou saga takes new turn at Tottenham, as journalist shares update he maybe 'shouldn't reveal' - TBR Football
Description

Despite Tottenham’s success in the Europa League final, Ange Postecoglou’s departure now almost feels inevitable.

Ange Postecoglou has asked Daniel Levy for more time, and perhaps some will conclude that the former Celtic boss deserves exactly that — it’s not too often a Tottenham manager wins a trophy.

But Spurs were unprecedentedly poor in the Premier League last season, their 17th place finish shouldn’t be acceptable in any circumstances.

Ange Postecoglou failed to show the necessary pragmatism when his side were consistently suffering injuries, and things didn’t really improve domestically even when they did return.

It’s a very difficult call for Levy to make, but in a summer in which Tottenham will welcome back Fabio Paratici, they have to get the decision right.

Ange Postecoglou doesn’t have long left at Tottenham Hotspur

That being said, journalist John Brewin has just provided an interesting insight into what’s been happening at the Guardian in regards to Tottenham sacking Postecoglou.

Speaking on the Football Weekly podcast, Brewin revealed that he’s now been asked to update his ‘Ange is being sacked’ piece with some new details, ready to go live when the inevitable happens.

Of course, the public line right now is that no decision has been made by Levy, who is still carefully pondering the decision.

But from the Guardian’s point of view at least, it would appear that there’s sufficient confidence that Postecoglou’s time is up.

Brewin said: “I was going to say, maybe I shouldn’t reveal the tricks of the trade here, but someone here, me, was asked to redraft the Ange is being sacked piece with the details of his, for The Guardian to go live with when it happens.”

Thomas Frank is the right choice for Tottenham, not Marco Silva

Assuming that popular belief is correct and Spurs do let Postecoglou go, Brentford’s Thomas Frank should be their main target.

Fortunately, Spurs have spoken to Frank, a manager they are seriously keen on given his consistent success in the Premier League.

However, Tottenham also like Marco Silva at Fulham, another manager who falls into the category of underrated talent.

But weighing up the two, Frank would definitely be the smarter choice for Spurs, a manager who has worked miracles in west London.

Silva has also done excellent work at Brentford’s rivals, but it’s Frank who has the potential to really be recognised among the elite.

Description

Tottenham Hotspur’s transfer plans are yet to take off, but Daniel Levy could ignite them by offering one of their most expensive signings to bring in a top Premier League player.

The North London club are expecting a very busy summer window after qualifying for the Champions League and everything that follows that.

Spurs need to strengthen in several different departments of their squad, with forward areas and positions in midfield needing greater depth.

Uncertainty over Cristian Romero’s future means that they might need a new central defender and they have already been linked to a potentially perfect option.

Tottenham should offer Everton Richarlison in exchange for Jarrad Branthwaite

Tottenham Hotspur should be offering Everton Richarlison in exchange for Jarrad Branthwaite, with both clubs looking at each other’s players.

Tottenham are keen on Branthwaite given just how good the 22-year-old has been for the Toffees over recent seasons. The defender has just won Everton’s Young Player of the Season award.

The young defender could be the perfect replacement for Romero, given his brilliant athleticism and ability on the ball, two qualities which the Argentine also possesses.

Branthwaite, who is valued at £75m, has become one of the best defenders in the Premier League at Everton and could be a great signing for the Lilywhites.

David Moyes’ side could also profit from the deal by re-signing Richarlison, who’s a top target for Everton this summer. Spurs paid £60m to sign Richarlison back in the summer of 2022.

TBR Football understands that the Merseyside club have offered the 27-year-old a guaranteed starting spot next season at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

The Brazilian was a very popular figure at Goodison Park and playing the first season at the new stadium for the Toffees would be rather special.

How does Jarrad Branthwaite compare to Cristian Romero?

Firstly, Branthwaite’s availability compared to Romero instantly gives him the upper hand over the World Cup winner.

The England international made 30 league appearances for Everton last season, meanwhile Romero featured on just 18 occasions.

The Everton defender leads the way in most departments, including duels won, tackles, fouls committed and more clean sheets.

Surprisingly, Romero actually has fewer cards than Branthwaite, with the Spurs man picking up just three bookings all season.

Tottenham's Johan Lange will be quietly delighted after seeing who Man City are close to signing - TBR Football
Description

Johan Lange may have one less fire to put out at Tottenham Hotspur this summer, given Manchester City’s latest round of transfer talks.

Tottenham Hotspur are already set for a chaotic summer as they prepare for Champions League football and the possibility of the need for a new manager.

Lange is currently the man who will be leading a lot of the transfers at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer and he can expect to be very busy.

There was a fear that the sporting director may have needed to replace one of the team’s key players. However, that is unlikely to be the case anymore, given the latest news coming from the former Premier League champions.

Tottenham’s chances of keeping Destiny Udogie have been boosted

Tottenham’s chances of keeping Destiny Udogie have just received a major boost as Manchester City are now looking elsewhere in the left-back department.

Man City are close to signing Rayan Ait-Nouri in a deal worth around £45 million from Wolverhampton Wanderers, TBR Football has revealed.

Udogie was a target for City this summer with Pep Guardiola’s side eager to bring in a new left-sided defender.

The Italian has really impressed during his two years in North London and has become one of the best left-backs in the Premier League.

The defender played a key role in helping Tottenham end their 17-year wait for silverware with several top performances throughout their Europa League campaign.

Udogie’s performance against Frankfurt was a standout and therefore losing him to City would have been a major blow for the Lilywhites. But that no longer appears to be a concern with the ex-Premier League winners looking at another target.

Destiny Udogie could be perfect under Thomas Frank at Tottenham

Tottenham have held talks with Thomas Frank about replacing Ange Postecoglou, and Udogie could be the perfect left-back for the Dane.

Frank at Brentford has worked wonders with Keane Lewis-Potter and Rico Henry as his left-back options, and upgrading to Udogie could be quite an exciting prospect.

Lewis-Potter has predominantly been the first-choice option for the 51-year-old, and the former Hull City winger featured in quite an attacking full-back role last season.

Under Postecoglou, Udogie has been forced to do a lot of inverting, but the Italian defender has often been at his best when he can fly down the left flank.

Hugging the touchline is how Frank usually wants his left-back to be playing and as mentioned, this could be of great benefit to Udogie.
