Eveliina Summanen shortlisted for WSL award - Tottenham Hotspur
Description

Eveliina Summanen has been nominated for the Barclays Women’s Super League Goal of the Month award!

In recognition of her stunning free-kick against London City Lionesses earlier this month, Eveliina has been shortlisted for November’s edition of the WSL award.

With the scoreline 2-1 to London City Lionesses at the time, the midfielder stepped up for a free-kick, central and around 25 yards out, and curled the ball over the wall and into the top right corner.

It was certainly a good way to open your account for this term, scoring her first WSL goal of the campaign.

As always, there is competition for the prize with Everton’s Hikra Kitagawa and Kelly Gago, Manchester United’s Jess Park, Chelsea’s Alyssa Thompson, London City Lionesses’ Freya Godfrey and Manchester City’s Lauren Hemp.

Fan votes help decide the winner, so cast your vote to support Eveliina. Voting is now open and will close on Monday 24 November at 11am (UK).

Safety measures such as queueing systems, station closures, or changes to station entrances/exits may be necessary to manage crowds. Additionally, please note that Holloway Road station will be exit-only before and after the match with pre-match eastbound trains not stopping. Drayton Park is closed on matchdays.

We encourage fans to plan their journey ahead, allow extra time for their travel, and check TfL channels on the day for transport updates. Supporters travelling by National Rail services are encouraged to check www.nationalrail.co.uk before travelling.

Local parking

Fans are advised against driving. This is due to the limited parking availability around the stadium, which is situated in a mainly residential area with extensive traffic management plans and an Event Day Parking Scheme in operation on a matchday.

Only car owners with resident's permits will be allowed to park on-street nearby the stadium and any cars parked illegally will be towed away.

Entering the stadium

Visiting supporters will be located in the south-east corner of the ground, accessible via entrances K and L.

All supporters are encouraged to arrive as early as possible to allow stewards to conduct searches.

Accessibility

The dedicated accessible entrance is located to the right-hand side of Entrance K, and stewards will be on hand to provide assistance.

Bag Policy

It is encouraged that supporters bring only essential items, and avoid bringing bags.

Bags A4 size and smaller are permitted into the ground, although will be subject to searches by stewards ahead of entry.

Please note that there will be no bag drop facility available for supporters on matchday.

Prohibited items

A full prohibited item list is available to view here.

Please note, as at other stadia in the UK and Europe, flags with religious / sectarian / political / inflammatory or offensive messages will not be permitted and may be confiscated. Flag poles are not permitted.

Supporters are also reminded of the Club’s own Flags and Banners Policy which is in effect at away matches.

Spurs Respects

We are proud of our superb and loyal support at home and away.

We recognise that most supporters want to watch a football match and not listen to abusive or indecent language from the stands. Discriminatory or violent behaviour, including racist, homophobic, sexist or anti-disability shouting, chanting or actions, is unacceptable.

The Club reserves the right to indefinitely ban supporters found guilty of using discriminatory language or violent behaviour.

Unauthorised use of tickets

Supporters are reminded that the unauthorised reselling or passing on of tickets is strictly prohibited. In line with the Club's Sanctions & Banning Policy, supporters found to have purchased tickets and subsequently sold or passed them on to other supporters, or offered for sale, will be subject to sanctions.

Bristol City vs Spurs | Form guide ahead of Women’s League Cup tie - Tottenham Hotspur
Description

Women’s Super League 2 side Bristol City head into Sunday’s Subway Women’s League Cup clash looking to return to winning ways after a 2-0 loss to league leaders Charlton Athletic last weekend.

After spending the 2023/24 campaign in the Women’s Super League, the Robins were relegated back to WSL2 that term but they have enjoyed a strong start to the season, currently sat third in the table on 16 points, as they eye a return to England’s top flight.

An impressive 4-2 win away at Sunderland kicked off this month in style before an emphatic 7-0 win over second tier newcomers Ipswich Town the following weekend. Although they suffered a defeat to the league leaders last Sunday at the Valley – their first in six league games – Charlotte Healy’s side remain on the hunt for one of the two automatic promotion spots.

Watch | Our home meeting with the Robins in 2023/24

The Robins began this cup competition with a 2-2 draw with Birmingham City in September before losing the subsequent penalty shootout 4-3 at St Andrew’s, missing out on the bonus point.

Having fallen behind to Riya Rani Mannu’s and Lucy Quinn’s strikes, second half goals from Lexi Lloyd-Smith and Olivia Johnson saw the Robins fight back to earn a point.

However, the WSL 2 side suffered a 3-0 defeat to Aston Villa in the second game of the group phase, with goals from Rachel Daly, Georgia Mullett and Ebony Salmon enough for the Villans on the day.

As we enter the third and final game of the group in the Women’s League Cup, the Robins have one point to their name while we have five points and currently sit top of the standings – needing just a win to secure our place in the quarter-final.

Having joined the club in the summer from Rangers, following a spell at Durham prior to her move to Scotland, forward Rio Hardy is the Robins’ leading goalscorer this campaign with five goals in nine games.

Sunday’s encounter at Robins High Performance Centre will be our third meeting in this competition – seven in total – and we remain unbeaten against the southwest side.

The Knowledge | When was the first 'north London' derby? - Tottenham Hotspur
Description

Arsenal moved down the road to Highbury in 1913, yet it would be over seven years until we'd meet in the first N17 vs N5 clash...

First 'proper' NLD - 1921

The Gunners were formed as Dial Square in 1886, then Royal Arsenal and on turning professional in 1893, became Woolwich Arsenal, playing at the Invicta Ground and the Manor Ground, Plumstead. They moved to north London in 1913 and played their first match at Highbury on 6 September, 1913 – a 2-1 victory over Leicester Fosse in the old Second Division (Championship). We won the Second Division title in 1919/20 and the stage was set for the first 'north London' derby in the First Division on 15 January, 1921. We won that clash 2-1 thanks to goals from Jimmy Cantrell and Bert Bliss in front of 39,221 fans at the Lane. “Spurs played the close-passing, skilful game. Arsenal played the full-steam-ahead game, booting the ball hard and dashing after it at top speed. At the end, no-ne could say which was the more effective,” reported the Daily Mail. A week later, N17 vs N5 was truly underway as we travelled to Highbury for the first time, this time suffering a 3-2 loss.

Match abandoned for 'bad language' - 1900!

Before the local rivalry kicked in in 1921, we had some 'interesting' encounters against Royal and Woolwich Arsenal. The first meeting was on 19 November, 1887, a friendly at our early base on Tottenham Marshes, a match abandoned because of poor light with 15 minutes to go with us 2-1 up. The first competitive clash between the teams was in the United League in November, 1896, a 2-1 win for the Gunners. Over 14,000 fans attended a United League game at our old Northumberland Park ground in 1898, and many were lucky to escape injury when the refreshment stand collapsed under the weight of fans who had climbed up to get a better view. There was an extraordinary match in the South District Combination League on 24 April, 1900 - abandoned after 75 minutes because of 'bad language' with Woolwich Arsenal leading 2-1! Nine years later, 4 December, 1909, the first league meeting between the teams at the Manor Ground in the First Division ended with a 1-0 win for the hosts.

2026 World Cup play-off draw: Italy host Northern Ireland; could face Wales in the final - Tottenham Hotspur
Description

Our players will go head-to-head for the final European places at the 2026 FIFA World Cup following the play-off draw on Thursday lunchtime.

Following the conclusion of the initial UEFA group stage qualifiers this month, there are five nations with Spurs interest who will be competing in the play-offs next March with an aim to join those who have already sealed automatic qualification to next summer's tournament.

As the top-ranked team in the play-off draw, Guglielmo Vicario and Destiny Udogie's Italy were in pot one and will host Jamie Donley's Northern Ireland in Path A.

Also in Path A, Ben Davies and Brennan Johnson's Wales are set to face Bosnia and Herzegovina at home. That means, if the Welsh get past Bosnia, they will face the winners of Italy and Northern Ireland in the play-off final, with Wales to be at home.

Over in Path B, Dejan Kulusevski and Lucas Bergvall's Sweden face an away tie against Ukraine before potentially hosting the Path B final against either Poland or Albania.

Radu Dragusin's Romania travel to Turkey in the Path C semi-final before another away trip to Slovakia or Kosovo should they make the final.

Explainer

Of those 16 teams who entered the draw, 12 group runners-up entered the top three pots in order of their FIFA ranking alongside the four UEFA Nations League group winners placed into pot four. One team from each pot was then drawn into four separate paths: Path A, Path B, Path C and Path D.

All eight matches in the play-off semi-finals:

Path A

Italy vs Northern Ireland

Wales vs Bosnia and Herzegovina

Path B

Ukraine vs Sweden

Poland vs Albania

Path C

Slovakia vs Kosovo

Turkey vs Romania

Path D

Czech Republic vs Republic of Ireland

Denmark vs North Macedonia

The format

In each path, there will be a one-legged semi-final with the teams in pot one (Italy) and pot two (Wales) at home in the semi-finals. The winners from the four play-offs finals will book their place at the tournament in United States, Canada and Mexico.

Dates

The semi-finals are set to take place on Thursday 26 March 2026, with the play-off finals on Tuesday 31 March (exact dates and kick-off times still to be confirmed).
