Tottenham Hotspur announces initial £100m capital injection
We are pleased to announce that our majority shareholder, the Lewis family trust, has, through ENIC Sports & Development Holdings Ltd (“ENIC”), injected £100 million of new capital into the Club.
This equity injection will further strengthen the Club’s financial position and equip the Club’s leadership team with additional resources to continue the focus on driving long-term sporting success. This additional capital is part of the Lewis family’s ongoing commitment to the Club and its future.
Peter Charrington, Non-Executive Chairman, Tottenham Hotspur, said: “As I stated a few weeks ago, our focus is on stability and empowering the management team to deliver on the Club’s ambitions. I know the Lewis family are also ambitious for the future. Today’s capital commitment reflects that ambition and I would like to thank them for their ongoing support. We will continue to do all we can to ensure that Vinai and his team are supported in the best way possible to take this Club forward.”
Assist for Kudus in big win for Ghana
Mohammed Kudus supplied an assist in Ghana’s 5-0 victory over Central African Republic on Wednesday, which put them on the brink of qualification for next summer’s World Cup finals.
Fresh from scoring his first goal in our colours during Saturday’s win at Leeds United, the attacker wasted no time in making an impact on the international stage as well.
He sent in a 21st-minute corner from which Mohammed Salisu powerfully headed Ghana in front – and from there it was one-way traffic in Meknes, Morocco, as his side went on to win comfortably thanks to further goals from Thomas Partey, Alexander Djiku, Jordan Ayew and Kamaldeen Sulemana.
Mo completed 82 minutes before being substituted.
The result means Ghana now only need a point from their final qualifying game at home to Comoros on Sunday to be mathematically certain of qualifying for the showpiece tournament in 2026.
They’re currently three points ahead of second-placed Madagascar in Group I with a superior goal difference (+8).
Spirited performance goes unrewarded for our Women's Under-19s
A spirited performance from our Women's Under-19s went unrewarded after London rivals Chelsea staged a late comeback to win 3-1 in the Professional Game Academy League on Wednesday afternoon.
Up against the current league leaders in the London derby, we came out on the front foot at Hotspur Way and deservedly took the lead just before the half-hour mark when Beatrice Cunnison headed home Mia Endacott’s corner to capitalise on a strong showing in the first period.
The Blues responded after the break and a moment of quality from Sienna Davis got them back on level terms 10 minutes into the second half. Just as we stepped up our tempo to push for a winner in the closing stages, the visitors struck twice late on through Eva Hendle and Sude Oztas to complete the turnaround despite a positive showing from Sabiha Jamal's young side.
We carved out the first opportunity in the opening minutes when Endacott’s corner was met by Cunnison at the back post – an early foreshadow of what was to come – but it was deflected to Chelsea’s goalkeeper, Isla Ball. Lois Shooter dragged an effort wide from distance as the away side looked to respond to our positive start, however, we kept pushing at the other end, Jhanaie Pierre being denied at the near post by Ball. Storey Gabi’s free-kick from the edge of the box was straight at Sophie Jackson before our shot stopper blocked Shooter’s shot from close range while, on 25 minutes, Neill fired wide from distance.
But our pressure eventually prevailed a minute later when Endacott’s corner was met by Cunnison at the back post and she perfectly guided her header into the far corner. And we continued on the front foot after our well-deserved lead, Pierre’s left-footed strike saved well by Ball at her near post once again before Endacott’s effort from range went over the bar. Chelsea continued to pose a threat, though, and should have troubled Jackson more on the stroke of half time when Amelia Fahey teed up Rebekah Pierre central in the box, but she failed to make a clean connection and Jackson was there to smother the ball.
Chelsea looked for a response after the break and Shooter had two opportunities to find the leveller, first Jackson pushing her effort around the post after racing behind our backline and from the resulting corner, some superb reactions from our shot stopper to get down low to save Shooter’s effort on the line. However, on 55 minutes, they found the equaliser and it was a wonderful strike from Davis, sending a 25-yard effort into the top left corner. We came back, though, as Grace Bellwood’s low cross was met by Nife Aramide inside the box but the midfielder was unable to get a shot away while, on the hour mark, Pierre’s 30-yard free-kick just curled wide.
Aramide was denied by Ball after great pressing on the edge of the box to win possession back but, at the other end, Chelsea remained a threat with Jackson called into action a few times, including a great challenge to prevent Shooter taking the ball round her. Endacott, who was influential in a slightly deeper role in midfield throughout the 90 minutes, picked out substitute Cruz Fuller-Fagan inside the box, but her low-driven shot was saved at the near post by Ball.
In the 86th-minute, however, Chelsea fired ahead in the contest and it was another stunning goal from the away side. Following a short corner on the far left, Hendle picked up the ball inside the box, on the far side, and curled a left-footed strike into the top right corner. As we pushed for an equaliser in the closing stage, Chelsea added a third and secured the three points when Oztas raced behind and calmly slotted past Jackson to maintain their unbeaten record in the PGA League this season.

Summanen – “We just need to keep focusing on ourselves”
While it has been an impressive start to our Barclays Women’s Super League campaign, Eveliina Summanen is just focusing on the next game.
An all-important 1-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday, after Cathinka Tandberg’s third goal in Lilywhite separated the two sides at Brisbane Road, saw us climb to third in the WSL table.
Claiming our fourth win from our opening five games, Martin Ho’s impressive start as Head Coach continues, but next up is last season’s league winners, Chelsea, on Sunday (12 October) at Kingsmeadow – as we sit within one point of our London rivals.
Midfielder Eveliina has been an ever-present in Ho’s starting XI so far, starting in all five games, and while she highlighted the importance of getting the three points against the Seagulls, she wants us to remain focused on ourselves ahead of this weekend’s derby.
Speaking to SPURSPLAY after the Brighton win, Eveliina told us: “We had a good first half, got the goal, and then obviously there were some harder times in the second half.
“But we got the clean sheet and three points - and that’s the most important thing in front of our home fans.
“I think we just need to keep focusing on ourselves,” she said. “There’s still a lot of work to do in the way we play — we want to be a little bit better every single week.
“As long as we focus on ourselves, we’ve got a good chance to get a win and a clean sheet against Chelsea. Why not?”
The narrow 1-0 victory over the Seagulls showcased another resolute and disciplined defensive performance as we claimed our third clean sheet in five games – bettering our tally of two in the 2024/25 season.
“We definitely need to work on managing the whole 90 minutes and having a bit more control throughout the game,” she added, when asked about the defensive performance. “But at the end of the day, we put bodies on the line in our own box and prevented all the tough chances from them. So, a clean sheet is always good.”
Mo Kudus on Mathys Tel: “A top professional - his mentality will help him go far”
Match winner Mo Kudus immediately shone the spotlight on Mathys Tel after our 2-1 win against Leeds United on Saturday.
Mo drilled home a fine winner at Elland Road – his first goal for us – and was a constant threat down our right, typically relishing what, at times, and as expected, was a physical battle against a team unbeaten on home soil in league action for over a year.
He also provided the assist for Mathys’ opener in the first half, feeding in the pacy French international in the right channel after Rodri Bentancur won possession. Mathys did the rest, driving into the box and firing home via a slight deflection.
It was his first goal this season, indeed, since April, and the spotlight had been on the youngster both after being left out of our UEL squad, how he would react, and in his role as the central striker – Thomas Frank spoke beforehand that he felt he was ‘what we need for the game today’ and after the final whistle, highlighted his progression in games against West Ham and Doncaster and now his contribution to a big, big win.
Mo was quick to add to the plaudits. “I want to give big praise to Mathys because I think it's been a tough month, but how he carries himself, training… he's a top, top professional,” he said. “I think you can see today when he got his chance, he was there.
“It shows how professional he is, the way he composes himself, manages himself, trains. He's still young and with this mentality, it's really going to help him go far. I hope that this first goal he has scored is going to open more doors for even better games and more goals coming ahead. I'm really, really proud of him today.”
