Everton fans have continued to back David Moyes and their club even when outside criticism comes their way.

Everton will face Sunderland at the Stadium of Light on 3 November in their 10th game of the Premier League season.

The Toffees have had a decent start to the season, with Everton’s narrow 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace no doubt one of the highlights.

Fans have been loud and proud throughout the period, with most keen to back the process.

Jamie O’Hara takes dig at Hill Dickinson Stadium

While Everton’s new Hill Dickinson Stadium has been a tough ground to visit so far, with fans quickly falling in love, Jamie O’Hara clearly doesn’t take that view.

O’Hara told talkSPORT on 31 November that the Hill Dickinson Stadium is a “toy version” of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

He said: “Look at our ground, look at our stadium. It’s unbelievable – everyone’s trying to copy us, even Everton!

“Have you seen Everton’s Stadium? Have you seen inside it? It looks like a toy Spurs stadium.

“When you watch it on TV now, it looks like Spurs, but just not as big. It’s like a toy version of it. Everyone wants to copy our stadium!”

Ironically, Everton’s controversial 3-0 defeat to Tottenham was the first time a team had defeated the Toffees at home since the season began.

There is no doubt that Everton fans will be less than impressed at O’Hara’s comments, which are obviously well wide of the mark.

But for now, Everton’s defeat to Tottenham will be behind them, and Toffees supporters will be focused on Monday’s game with their team being in desperate need of securing three points.

How does the Hill Dickinson Stadium compare to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium?

Tottenham’s stadium has a capacity of around 62,850, which is 10,081 more than Everton’s, which has a marginally smaller capacity compared to other top-tier stadiums.

Meanwhile, the Lilywhites’ home is designed for multi-purpose use and has hosted both music and other sporting events. This includes the South Stand, which is the UK’s largest single-tier stand with 17,500 seats available.

Not to mention that the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is far more established, given that it opened back in 2019.

But the Toffees’ stadium does come with its merits, which include a 17,000-capacity plaza and modern facilities, including premium seating.

While Spurs’ stadium is bigger and often more luxurious, the Hill Dickinson Stadium offers the perfect balance of grandeur and cosiness, which still creates community among fans.

‘Friedkins given cheap alternative’ amid Reguilon and Everton transfer surprise - Goodison News
Description

Sergio Reguilon is one of many names on the free agent market this summer.

Reguilon, 28, has departed from Tottenham Hotspur this summer following the expiration of his contract, ending a five-year spell in North London.

The Spaniard endured a mixed spell at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, which included loan spells at Atletico Madrid, Manchester United and Brentford.

Reguilon is now looking for his next adventure, and his next destination could see him remain in England.

Everton interested in Reguilon as left-back offered to Italian clubs

Everton are one of the clubs interested in bringing in the former Sevilla defender.

Caught Offside (14 July) are reporting that the Toffees, alongside Bournemouth and West Ham United, are showing an interest in keeping Reguilon in England next season.

Reguilon has been offered to Serie A giants Juventus and AC Milan, although neither club have committed to completing a deal as of yet.

Milan look the more likely to try and bring the Spaniard to Italy, having seen Theo Hernandez leave for Al-Hilal.

West Ham are showing the most interest among the Premier League sides so far, as they look to continue their rebuild this summer.

However, their deal for El Hadji Malick Diouf could rule them out of the race, as Reguilon is remaining patient as he looks for first-team football guarantees.

Reguilon deal can’t go wrong for the Friedkin Group

Everton need a left-back this summer, with Vitaliy Mykolenko the only recognised left-sided defender in the Toffees squad for next season.

A deal for Reguilon – who has played 81 Premier League games – would be a win-win scenario for the Friedkin Group, even if this news does come as a surprise.

Should the ex-Real Madrid defender flop on Merseyside, Everton would be able to recoup a profit that can be used on a replacement.

If Reguilon can rediscover the form he had during his first season at Tottenham, he can provide a similar threat at both ends of the pitch to that of Mykolenko.

With the Toffees in a critical phase with the move to their new stadium, David Moyes needs smart backing, and Reguilon would be the perfect signing.
