Tottenham are ready to sell another star alongside Cristian Romero after he has demanded an exit from the club.

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano recently confirmed that Argentine defender Romero will leave Tottenham during the summer transfer window.

Spurs have already brought in two central defenders this summer, Marcos Senesi and Jan-Paul van Hecke, and talks are now under way for Romero to depart.

Barcelona are believed to be one of the sides interested in signing Romero this summer, and all parties are now working towards reaching an agreement for him to depart.

Romero might be looking for a move back to a side competing in Europe after Tottenham finished in 17th place in the Premier League last season.

Tottenham ready to make U-turn

According to a report from Football Insider, Tottenham have made a U-turn on the future of Swedish midfielder Lucas Bergvall in the summer transfer window.

Spurs' initial stance was that the young midfielder wasn't for sale under any circumstances, but after he demanded to leave the club, they have now changed their mind.

Nottingham Forest submitted a bid to secure his signature earlier in the week, but a fresh offer arrived from Newcastle United.

According to David Ornstein, Newcastle made a bid in the region of £46 million, which was initially rejected by Tottenham.

Bergvall, described as fearless, is attracting interest from a host of clubs in the summer. It wouldn't be a surprise if Tottenham accepted an offer in the region of £50 million.

Tottenham will need to sell players

After spending significantly to bring in players such as Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali in the summer transfer window, Tottenham will have to offload some of their current squad.

There's no reason to believe Tottenham are struggling financially, but the nature of modern financial regulations means Spurs will have to cash in.

Offloading a midfielder is likely to be one of their priorities after Tonali and Fernandes arrive through the door.

With Bergvall attracting interest for a significant price, it seems natural that he's one who is likely to head through the exit door.
