Tottenham issue firm response to Daniel Levy ownership sale claims.
Tottenham Hotspur‘s parent company ENIC has moved swiftly to deny claims from a company called Eight Sports Capital Limited that they have purchased Daniel Levy’s minority stake in the organisation, with a spokesperson issuing a firm rebuttal that dismisses the suggestion entirely.
The statement, reported by journalist Ben Jacobs, was unambiguous in its denial while simultaneously redirecting attention toward the work being done at the club this summer.
“We can confirm that neither ENIC nor THFC are aware of any sale by Daniel Levy’s Family Trust of its minority stake in ENIC, THFC’s parent company. The THFC Board and Executive Team remain fully focused on delivering the commitments we set out to fans at the end of the season.”
The claim from Eight Sports Capital Limited generated immediate attention, given the timing, arriving in the middle of a summer in which Tottenham are attempting to convince a sceptical fanbase that meaningful change is underway following two consecutive 17th-place finishes and a near-relegation that required a final-day victory to avoid. Any suggestion of ownership instability at such a delicate moment was always going to demand an immediate and direct response.
Daniel Levy Family Trust still holds its stake
ENIC’s statement provides that response clearly. The Levy Family Trust has not sold its stake, the board and executive team are aware of no such transaction, and the focus remains on the commitments made to supporters at the season’s conclusion.
The reference to those end-of-season commitments is notable. Vinai Venkatesham and the Lewis family ownership have publicly acknowledged two years of failure, promised significant investment under De Zerbi, and signalled a change in the club’s approach to wages and recruitment. Restating that focus in the context of denying an ownership rumour serves a dual purpose, addressing the speculation while reinforcing the message that the leadership’s attention is fixed on delivery rather than distraction.
The summer rebuild continues. Andy Robertson has been signed, transfer activity is ongoing, and the commitments made to supporters are the standard against which Tottenham’s leadership will be judged. Everything else, including unfounded claims about stake sales, is noise.
