Tottenham Hotspur have recently been linked with the likes of Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes, with Lucas Bergvall dropping a major bombshell regarding his future with the club
Lucas Bergvall has told Tottenham Hotspur that he wants to leave the club this summer.
The 20-year-old, who only arrived in North London from Djurgarden in 2024 in an £8.5million move, struggled for concrete gametime in the latter stages of 2025/26, largely appearing as a second-half substitute following Roberto De Zerbi's appointment.
And now, the Athletic report that the Sweden international - who is currently representing his nation at the 2026 World Cup in North America - is looking for a fresh start elsewhere.

While the midfielder has previously attracted interest from the likes of Chelsea and Aston Villa, Spurs had no interest at the time as they were keen to retain him. It remains to be seen whether either club are still monitoring his situation.
Given how inflated the midfield market is this summer, a deal for Bergvall - who is under contract until 2031 - may not come cheap.
His current market value is also around £52m at present, although as he is keen on a move, respective suitors may be able to whittle that down slightly.
It comes as Spurs have been linked with a number of highly-rated midfielders this summer, as they look to bolster their engine room to avoid another lacklustre season. The Lilywhites finished 17th in the Premier League standings last term, narrowly avoiding relegation to the Championship on the last day of the season with a 1-0 win over Everton.
And with De Zerbi at the helm for the new campaign, it looks as though Spurs are actively looking for improvements across the board. The Athletic suggest that the club are willing to exceed their wage structure to facilitate a move for Sandro Tonali, who impressed in a struggling Newcastle United side last season.
However, with a price tag of around £100m, it remains to be seen whether the Lilywhites will couch up the cash required to turn the Magpies' head, considering they are desperate to retain the Italian.
West Ham's Mateus Fernandes has been cited as another possible target, with the East London club potentially looking to lighten their wage bill following their relegation this season.
It is suggested that Spurs have made contact with their London rivals over a move, although the Hammers continue to value the 21-year-old at around £80m with his best years still ahead of him.
